I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Good morning everyone So the other day something incredibly weird had occurred I was receiving email normally on my phone came into work logged in and began working on my trouble tickets I noted that when I went back to Outlook to view an email the email in particular was gone and then all were gone My folders and emails within randomly email? 2010 / Exchange inbox 2010 deleted Outlook them still remained the same I attempted to research what on Earth happened but I haven't been able to find anything specific to my issue I'm using Outlook connected to an Exchange server for work Outlook was setup as cached exchange mode but that has since been changed The emails also disappeared from my phone's inbox too it's as if everything was deleted and Exchange figured that's what it should be and synced everything that way Deleting my OST didn't resolve or resync anything I ran the scanpst tool on the ost file which reports errors but as I read the scanpst tool can't repair an OST and thus doesn't do anything Does Outlook have some sort of log that may explain what on Earth happened I can't find any error messages or any other reasons for what may have happened My view settings weren't changed nothing has changed on my end There is no spyware malware installed on the PC Outlook 2010 / Exchange 2010 randomly deleted inbox email? as far as I can tell No real issues in the Sync issues folder other than a Forms syncing issue which seems to be related to Exchange needing a patch but can otherwise be ignored I will give you any other information I possibly can just hoping that I can figure out what happened so this can be prevented in the future The email eventually began working normally but for a brief period of time whatever was in my unread folder once they were read they disappeared like the rest of the inbox Thanks

A:Outlook 2010 / Exchange 2010 randomly deleted inbox email?

Are you the only person using that Exchange server who has this issue? Check with the IT department to see if they can recover the emails in your mailbox from the server. It's possible they recently did some maintenance on the mail server that caused this issue. That fact that both Outlook and your phone are having this issue points to this being an Exchange server problem, as Outlook uses autodiscover and MAPI while your phone uses ActiveSync to connect to the server.
Do you have access to your email using Outlook Web Access? If so, log in and see if the emails are there. If not, it's definitely a server issue.
If your mail is still on the server, one thing you could try is re-enabling the cached Exchange mode, saving the change, and then restarting Outlook. The last thing to try is to delete the email account profile and recreate it. Make sure to get the proper settings from IT if you don't already have them -- although since you are using Exchange and autodiscover, that's usually just a case of entering your username and password when you recreate it.

We are running Exchange SP and our clients have Office Our Outlook profiles are created automatically by using Group Policy to set a registry key which points to a PRF file with all the Outlook settings Lately many of our users are reporting that their emails are getting stuck in the Outbox If you look Outbox; Corrupt 2010 Profile Email in Stuck Outlook Outlook at their Outlook profile they have two Exchange accounts listed You cannot delete either of them it gives a message that this is the default email account The immediate solution is to recreate the user's Outlook profile This allows the stuck email to send The real issue is that this keeps occurring Recreating the Outlook profile sometimes fixes the problem for a long time months maybe But other times the problem occurs the next day This is happening with users who have established Outlook profiles as well as new users logging into their Outlook 2010 Email Stuck in Outbox; Corrupt Outlook Profile PCs for Outlook 2010 Email Stuck in Outbox; Corrupt Outlook Profile the first time I've attached the code from our PRF Any Outlook 2010 Email Stuck in Outbox; Corrupt Outlook Profile help is appreciated as we have around active users and we're constantly chasing after this issue

Couple steps you may apply...
1. Repair the offline file with a Microsoft utility called SCANOST.exe. I’ve seen this file reside in a number of different locations, mainly within Program Files. It might be best to search for it with Windows or Google Desktop. SCANPST.exe will also work, though you’ll have to go digging for your outlook.ost, which should be near c:\Documents and Settings\ %profile%\ Local Settings\ Application Data\ Microsoft\ Outlook\ outlook.ost. If your file is significant in size, you’ll save a lot of time with the repair operation by not creating a backup. Because if the repair finishes successfully and Outlook still bombs, you’ll need to.
2. Shutdown Outlook completely, including any runaway outlook.exe processes in the task manager. Open Mail in the Control Panel and before you delete your profile completely, write down the server settings! There’s no need to worry about backing up your mail as it’s stored on the Exchange server. (Essentially, you’re deleting that outlook.ost when you drop your mail profile.) Now, start Outlook and it will create a new profile, where you’ll configure the server with the information you wrote down previously.
If steps above don’t work or you need to get more variants of .pst restoration, visit... - multi functional user community where you may discuss methods and cases of .pst corruption Outlook Repair Toolbox - one of the accessible tools on the market, as a variant in case you can’t recover .pst file via ScanPST or manually solutions - a lot of tips for outlook;-corrupt-outlook-profile/

With previous versions of MS Outlook you could right-click on a received e-mail and select 'properties' from the drop-down. This would show the full return paths and the true address of the sender.
How would one go about getting to this information?
I did a google but the link was broke

This option has been removed from the context (right click) menu in Outlook 2010 but there are alternative ways to access the dialog still and see the Internet headers of that message.
By opening the message first

If you open the message in its own window (via a double click), then you can access the Message Options of that message via;
File-> Info-> button Properties
By leaving the message closed

If you do not want to open the message first, but want to access the Message Options dialog directly from within the main Outlook window, then you can add the Message Options command to your Quick Access Toolbar;
File-> Options
Select the Quick Access Toolbar on the left.
Set the ?Choose commands from? dropdown list to; Commands Not in the Ribbon
From the command list select; Message Options?
Press the ?Add > >? button.
Press OK.
The option is now added to the Quick Access Toolbar at the top of your Outlook window and view the Internet headers of a message without needing to open it first.

Without knowing more about your mail server name and such.
Have you tried to Ping your mail server? like from the run cmd prompt ping
I ping to verify that the server is on-line and responding.

You could double check all the options in outlook setup email accounts to make sure that
you have spelled everything correctly, that sometimes is the problem where mispelling will
mess you up.

also the more settings options will have to be looked at to make sure that the boxes are checked correctly.

These things can get tricky if you misspell, many mail servers want your complete email address for the logon userid..

I've used Outlook 2010 as my email tool for years (and have an address). Until last evening things were fine but this morning I found all my received emails in a sub-folder rather then my Inbox. I have sent a test email from my Inbox and it too was received in the same sub folder. Also, archived emails in other sub folders are no longer showing. No changes have been made to my PC in any respect.
Grateful for some simple advice to rectify the issue(s) if possible)please?
On another matter, this last few months my PC (not old) has been so slow in all respects that it's almost not worth using sometimes - I have the latest McAfee LiveSafe which should clean my PC and keep things right but it's getting slower and slower by the day. Any tips welcome, thank you.

I enter my product key information as prompted. After my info is verified nothing happens. I attempt to generate a new email by tipping on the icon but no blank email page appears. Oh, I also notice at the top of the page that my version is listed as being unregistered. What does that mean?

Backup your registry first, and then navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office and delete it.

A:Delete Email from Server using Outlook 2010

Yes, you can delete email from the server using Outlook 2010.

Exactly how can depend on: What type of email account(s) you have such as IMAP, POP3, ...
Who the email provider(s) are such as Gmail, Hotmail, ...
How you want your email saved...
I'm assuming this is for Home email and you installed, configure, and control Outlook.

If this is for any Work email account(s) where Outlook is controlled by "Corp. policy / Email administrator" that can make a difference.

Hey paascal,

You got to go to Rules,
Click on Manage Rules and Alerts. Select the rule you have created for which you want to have the alert and then click on change rule.

Go to Edit rule settings, It will open a new window "Rule Wizard", click on next. On the second window scroll down to bottom and check the option "display and Desktop alert". Finish the setup and you are done.

Next time you get a mail from that specific user and it goes to your sub folder, you will get a desktop alert.

You can do this for any rule you have set.

Greetings all I'm a real newbie to this forum so if I have posted this in the incorrect location addresses choose to Outlook from?? 2010 email just let me know Thanks - When I create a new email and begin to type in a name for example J a window drop-down appears and shows Outlook 2010 email addresses to choose from?? me names that begin with the letter quot J quot and the next name shown begins with the letter quot L quot Since I actually have names that begin with quot J quot why can't I scroll down the list and pick the one I want If I double click on the quot To quot it will bring up my address book and then I can type quot J quot and it will show me all the quot J quot s that I can choose from However that is obviously another step to go through that wastes time Is there an option I need to check to allow the first window drop down to show me more options or another solution Thanks in advance for any information you can provide to solve this problem for me Ron

A:Outlook 2010 email addresses to choose from??

Hi Ron, maybe I'm missing something, but the more letters you type, the narrower the field becomes.

So for example, if I start off with "L" all the names with L will pop-up, as I type the second letter, LI, all the names with LI will stay and everything else drops off and so on. That's the way the "auto" feature is designed to work.

The other way you could do it is just type the entire name in the To box and hit Check Names and the box that opens will have a list of all the people with that name, then you just choose the one you want.

Hope this helps.

A:Solved: Outlook 2010 - email stuck

if the item is stuck in your outbox, you may not be able to delete it until you set Outlook to work Offline (Send / Receive then Work Offline from the Ribbon). There was an old thread from last year which described a problem with Outlook Contact records but which did not offer a definitive solution This is to follow up with such a solution The problem sometimes arises email address Outlook accept won't 2010 when you try to edit an existing contact record by adding a new email address When you enter the Outlook 2010 won't accept email address new email address and when you then move on to the next field the new email address sometimes disappears IOW Outlook will not allow you to add the email address This problem appears to be related to Outlook s autofill feature if you ve received an email from the contact using that new email address Outlook will autofill the Contact email field with that address But it won t accept it and it disappears as soon as you move to the next field The offered solution from last year s thread was to clear the autofill cache and to see if that would work But there was no report as to whether or not that solution worked and it s rather cumbersome to find and delete the whole cache file That thread is now closed I tried a simpler solution that did work deleting the offending email address from autofill This is easily done by starting a new email message to the contact person in question When you start to type the person s name or email address into the To line of the new message Outlook will suggest the offending email address Simply delete that autofill suggestion there s an x next to it That done you can get rid of the new email message not necessary to actually send it and then re-open the person s contact record You can now enter the address into the email field move to the next field and it should stick Save the edited contact record and you re done It s peculiar that this problem has been around so long with no clear solution offered I ve encountered it a few times and been puzzled about what to do until now Hope this helps nbsp

I tried to set up my college email (.edu) in recently installed outlook 2010. I did something about Exchange (I don't remember exactly what I did..) when outlook first popped up, and now it won't let me do anything.
When I open outlook, it comes up with the error message: "The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. "
I click okay and a box comes up wanting me to enter Microsoft Exchange Server and Mailbox. I try putting my info in but I don't know exactly what to put. If I click okay, an error comes up. "Cannot open your default e-mail folders. The not an Outlook data file (.ost)."
I click okay and it completely closes outlook.
I've tried to click file in the main window, but it either doesn't let me or says, "Not Responding."
How do I fix it? Thanks!

A:I'm having an error with setting up my .edu email in Outlook 2010.

Can you try this. Go to Tools > Account Settings > Below email select "New" > Click Next > Enter your information > Finish

Then go back and do this same process, but select remove instead of new.

Let me know if this worked.

Hey all I just happily installed Win on my desktop and laptop Included with that is Office Beta which I want to use at least until October when the trial expires I've decided to try and give all the stock MS programs a other email 2010...switch client? Outlook to shot I've become very irked by the fact that about six different companies offering two different suites with ten different programs in each suite Outlook 2010...switch to other email client? none of which compat well together are what I get to sift through until I find my pick I've currently been running Google Chrome and using GMail Chrome is really nice once I got used to the minimal interface GMail too has long been a favorite of mine However I have Office and want to full utilize what I see as a great productivity suite especially compared to Google's online suites which seems to be still in the shaky ground of beta and new releases My issue is this I've tried importing my GMail into Outlook but there are a lot of discrepancies Filters for one don't transfer from GMail into Outlook I have like thirty messages in my inbox that should be in my school box And I think trying to sync everything up would be a pain in the ass and need constant adjustment especially since it's already been finnicky in the first day's use Is there some awesome way to get Outlook to recognize all my GMail settings Or should I switch email clients Which I'm fine to do I just got a new phone essentially a new laptop and desktop and I'm moving so why not go whole hog and change all my email stuff too I've used GMail for about two years and I'm comfortable with it--but that's not necessarily good and I could always switch back to GMail if I hate Outlook Now I know this seems almost strange switching BACK to IE and Office from Google but I'd like to try it My goal is to have a consolidated easily synchronized inclusive compatible series of programs for my daily communications Maybe in a few years I'll be using Android or something but for now I want to keep everything as in-house Microsoft as possible Is IE really that terrible If I get an email for use with Outlook what client do I use Not hotmail I won't regress that far Is there an outlook client or something Also since I have Office I'd prefer not to install redundant bloat software such as Windows Live It offers nothing I don't already have is designed as a free alternative to Office Thanks

A:Outlook 2010...switch to other email client?

The best way of synchronising gmail and outlook is by the use of IMAP rather than POP3 access.

What this does is any actions performed at one location is duplicated in the other so if you have a rule operating in gmail the result is automatically reflected in Outlook and vice versa and the folder structure is also synchronised.

I actually find that gmails support for IMAP is not the best, (using tags rather than actual folders), but it does work.

A better Service for outlook/imap use is in my opinion Free Webmail and E-Mail by GMX | Sign Up Now!, which also looks more like outlook in use. you may want to have a look at this free service and as it has a mail collector, for your existing gmail account, can ease the transition

You can also try going into Control Panel>Programs and Features, select Outlook and click Repair.
Just on the off chance your default font in Outlook is Helvetica:
The 0xc0000005 error code can be caused by a number of issues. Does the error code only occur with the Outlook.exe file? The likely cause is a problem with the way the program was installed or updated. If not, it could be anything from malware, to damaged system files, to bad RAM or drivers.

My outlook is marking my email as read before i look at them.
Email sometime shows as read in the inbox the first time it apears. other times the email shows up as unread but changes to read on its own. Or a large groupe of email changes to read if I touch another email with the curser. Some email comes in unread and stays that way as long as I don't read it.

I can't find any consistancey.

I also get lots of Spam. Eventhough i have setting set high. The company even has a firewall. Most of the other folks here dont get much spam.

Our IT guy has scanned my computer with Hijackthis, malwarebytes, Trendmicro and i dont know what else.

He has asked Microsoft for help and more.

Is anyone aware of an efficient way to move emails (inbox, sent, etc) from Mozilla Thunderbird to Outlook 2010 (not Express)?

Tbird2OE is amazingly slow and introduces some problems of its own.

A:Thunderbird to Outlook 2010 - email import?

What's slow about it? Thunderbird is a pretty basic, simple e-mail editor. If it opens slowly or doesn't respond, I suspect you have other problems.

Also, there's no way to natively import e-mails from Thunderbird into Outlook, so you'd have to hunt for a 3rd party tool.

A:Attaching an office 365 email to outlook 2010

Never mind. I kind of answered my own question after I thought about it.
FYI: Even if the main profile is under 2 GB, if all the open data files exceed a certain size (I'm not sure how much, but this was over 6 GB) it will not add a new profile. I closed the other data files and was then able to add the new email without issue. After restarting outlook, I was able to reopen the other data files, and all seems to be well now.

Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

During the Office 2010 installation you have the option to choose whether to have everything installed to your computer, whether to install just some of the options, whether to install on first use or not install a particular option such as Outlook.

Can you remember which options you chose?

You can always reinsert your Office DVD and choose the repair option or uninstall it, and then re-install choosing all the options.

It is hard to " accidentally " delete an e-mail. It takes at least 2 clicks to delete an e-mail.
Even then, you can still retrieve it in Deleted Items folder.
That should be more than enough to safe-guard accidental delete.

Anyway, I don't believe there is such as option that you are asking for. But then, I could be wrong.

Just installed MS Outlook 2010. I set up my 3 email accounts. Now I have a separate Inbox for each of my 3 accounts....AND one for an account called Outlook.

Why does MS have to make this sooooo complicated. On my older verson of Outlook, all my email came into the same Inbox.

I don't mind if there is a separate Inbox, Sent, etc, for each account...but what the heck is the other "Outlook" account for.

A:Solved: Outlook 2010 with Multiple Email Accounts

Go to accounts (file->Account Settings) and look at your list of accounts. The 'Outlook' account may just be one you inadvertently added as the default account name. Check the settings of that account and see if you need it. Delete it if you don't.

Also, if you haven't already noticed, the email account you send from depends on what inbox is highlighted. I had to break old habits with 2010 to keep from sending mail out through the wrong account.

A:BSOD when trying to attach files to a new Outlook 2010 email

Hi there,

Your dumps are pointing to Kaspersky,

nable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\kl1.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for kl1.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for kl1.sys
Driver Reference Table - kl1.sys

For the time being, try uninstalling that and install Microsoft Security Essentials which we know does not cause BSOD's.

For this,

The updates are mandatory applied when trying to do a shutdown.

You can disable that following this tutorial,

Shut Down Windows - Enable or Disable "Install Updates and Shut Down"

The mention of registry repair is a red flag, those programs are usually more harm than good.

You also mention Norton, I hope there isn't more than one active Anti-Virus on there as well.

We prefer you follow these instructions when uploading the dumps and other info,

Hello Mario,

Welcome to SevenForums.

Lets start with a few questions to eliminate the obvious. I assume you setup the signatures seperately for each account using this panel?

I found some additional information about signatures here: (browse down towards the bootom of the page)

One suggestion I read, was that the signature it picks to use is related to the folder that you currently have highlighted. I'm not entirely sure how that works, perhaps you could experiment with that?

A:Permanently delete email from gmail with outlook 2010

Maybe something here which could help:
How to Delete Emails from Gmail IMAP Access Mail Client ? My Digital Life

In Outlook 2010 and some email, you can set Outlook to automatically move the deleted items to [Gmail]/Trash folder on the server. To do so, go to the ?Account Settings? of the Gmail account, and change its account settings. At ?More Settings?, go to ?Deleted Items? tab, and select ?Move deleted items to the following server on the server?, and select the ?[Gmail]/Trash? folder in the tree list.

An email message in Outlook can appear in many folders (applied with many labels). Typically, once you delete the email and move it to Trash, the email should be removed from other folders by Gmail too. Perform a sync or Send/Receive All Folders (for Outlook) so that mail client can synchronize the change that takes place on Gmail cloud after deletion. If for some reason Gmail and mail client does not automatically remove to Trash a delete email from all folders (labels), and the supposedly deleted emails on folders other than Trash folder, then manual deletion from each and every folders is requires. This including from [Gmail]/All Mail folder which archived all mails.
Once the e-mails are moved to Trash folder, it will be automatically purged by Google server process after 30 days. You can also configure your mail client to process purge permanently items mark as trashed or deleted in the original folder automatically from the server. Note that also if you delete any email message from [Gmail]/Spam or [Gmail]/Trash, it will be deleted permanently, locally and on Gmail server.

When multiple accounts are added on Outlook 2010 and you create a new email, autocomplete in the 'to' field shows suggestions from every account. Is it possible to only show suggestions relevant to the account the email is being sent from.

For example, if I had my personal account and a customer services account, when I go to send an email from my personal account, every email address who has ever communicated with the customer services account shows which is quite risky.

Occasionally when I delete an email while I have the preview pane open (this may be the incorrect name, but I've attached a screenshot so hopefully it's clear) the email remains in the preview pane until I click to another folder.

This isn't a big issue or anything, it's just a small annoyance. This doesn't happen all the time and I haven't noticed any common factor between the emails that remain in the pane when deleted.

OS: Windows 7 Pro 32-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
Office: Pro Plus 2010
Outlook: 14.9.4734.1000 (32-bit)

It looks to me like this is purely an office issue that I won't be able to fix, but you never know - any help would be appreciated!

I found a thread on the issue elsewhere;
They conclude that SP1 fixes the problem, but I'm running SP1 already and it certainly doesn't!

Hi gormann, welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

You screen shot is not showing in your post.

Have you tried a repair of Office 2010. to do that open Control Panel, select Programs & Features & scroll down to Microsoft Office 2010, Right Click on it & select Change & this should open a couple of repair options.
Also have all your Office updates been installed.

I use Outlook 2010 to process several email accounts. I noticed a few days ago that a couple of the email accounts had vanished from the list. I also noticed that one still present was not sending or receiving. I tried re-entering the password and when that didn't work I deleted and re-entered the account. It tests fine but the test message never shows up in my Outlook inbox. It does show up immediately on my phone when I check my mail there.

What gives?

Issue: Emails sending differently than they look going out.

To explain this a little better, I have included pictures. Outlook1 and 3 are how they should look. Outlook 2 and 4 is how they are actually being received.

As you can tell, there is a big difference between them and it is not good when copying reports or supposed to have certain aspects of emails bolded/highlighted.

I have searched for a bit and tried a few things but still have not had any success.

History: just recently transferred from Windows XP/Office 2k3 this past weekend and now I have these issues.
Edit: I do have it setup to send/convert outgoing emails to HTML

A:Outlook 2010 Email formatting issue with original message

Hello joeblah -

The sent samples are correct based on your format selection of HTML.

HTML is not the same as plain or rich text and has little resemblence to how things look in a word processor.

If you must send as HTML then convert your content to an image (picture) and embed that. Otherwise try rich text and see what happens.

Note that sending in HTML is your choice but no guarantee that the receipient will ALLOW your email to be view as HTML. I do NOT allow HTML emails in 6 of my 8 email accounts, PLAIN TEXT ONLY.

I have recently changed my ISP to BT from Eclipse. Previously Outlook 2010 was configured to allow emails to be downloaded from the Eclipse servers and to enable me to send emails using Outlook 2010 using my Eclipse email address. I also have Outlook configured using IMAP to enable me to download emails from Gmail. I can no longer send emails using my eclipse email account.

Can someone help me to reconfigure Outlook so that I can send and receive emails using the Gmail servers from Outlook 2010 as my primary email source.

I wish to carry on using Outlook 2010 as I have many saved email folders in the account.

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

A:How do I change my email account to Gmail from Eclipse in Outlook 2010

In "accounts" you simply need to change the default account for sending to the gmail account. Sorry if that's a bit vague but I haven't used outlook for ages (and don't have it).

A:Exporting/Importing of Outlook 2010 Email Accounts Issues

Hey mate,

Here is one way of doing it -
Did you 'include subfolders' when you imported your mail?
1. If yes:
You could possibly go into each folder (ie sent, inbox, deleted folders) and press Ctrl+A. This selects all your mail. When you do this for the inbox, hold down Ctrl afterwards, and then deselect any recent mail you've been sent. Then, delete it all, minus the mail you deselected in order to keep. Then import your mail once again from the file, and do not import duplicates.
2. If no:
You could possibly go into the imported folder (ie sent, inbox, or deleted folder) and press Ctrl+A. This selects all your mail. If you do this for the inbox, hold down Ctrl afterwards, and then deselect any recent mail you've been sent. Then, delete it all, minus the mail you deselected in order to keep. Then import your mail once again from the file, and do not import duplicates.

I'm not thinking of another way right at the moment. Keep in mind, you can start again and import stuff you seem to be missing. Use this tutorial: Import Outlook items from an Outlook Data File (.pst) - Outlook - - you'd select not to import duplicates, and the subfolders should be imported if you check the box to include subfolders.

I am having trouble configuring Outlook 2010 on a new Windows 10 Pro clean install so that mail from multiple Gmail and Comcast accounts all go into 1 PST file. I would like to have 1 inbox for all 5 emailaccounts.

Even when I use ?Manually configure Server settings?? andspecify an existing PST on D:\Outlook, Outlook creates a new PST file on C:\Users\(My Username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook.

Any help out there?

A:How to configure Outlook 2010 to have 1 inbox for multiple email accts

You can do it this way with Mail App

If you want to link all your mail into one inbox you can do it.

Open Mail either from all App or Taskbar if you have it set up that way

Once open click on Settings found in bottom Right Hand Corner
Then go to Manage Account
Then go to
Change mailbox sync settings
Once done
Press Save
Do that with every Account you have
There like

Then click Link Inboxes
Tick which Inboxes you want to link
Also you can Name the link to anything you want to
Once done Click Save

Now when you receive Mail from any of your contact etc
It will now come into one Inbox
Have done it and it does work

This saves you having to click on each Mail inbox

If you want to revert back just
Click on the inbox linked untick
Press Save and they are all back showing one by one

I have my gmail set up as IMAP. When I set up my gmail account in Outlook 2010, it brought in all the email from the gmail server (thousands). That's okay, but what I would like to do is delete most of the emails (and the folders I set up in gmail) WITHOUT deleting them from the gmail server. I see in the gmail settings some instructions on deleting and expunging, but the terminology is confusing to me. Can someone tell me how to do my gmail settings such that when I delete something in Outlook (whether it be a gmail folder of individual emails), they are not deleted from the server? Sorry to be redundant, but I don't think I'm being very clear. Any help would be appreciated.

A:Outlook 2010 - Possible False Positive on Stay Smart Online email?

Apologies for "bumping" myself, but I thought I'd update from my own inquiry to Stay Smart Online.

A representative from Stay Smart Online replied confirming that the email in question is not a phishing email, that SSO's technical team has looked into this issue and that it appears two particular links within the Alert caused the issue with Outlook. These links, it would seem, allow broadband users to access the settings of their modems and apparently most anti-virus/security programs seem to think that any email containing these links is trying to access a user's modem.

This would seem to answer two questions I either put or implicitly put. (1) Q = Was the email in question sent by a bona fide source? (A = Yes, it would seem so). (2) Q = Did it contain malicious script, links, attachments etc? (A = No, according to the explanation received).

However, I'd like to leave the door open for a while for comments (if any) regarding any "over-sensitivity" (or not) on the part of Outlook 2010 or other Microsoft Office or Windows products that might be of benefit to Forum visitors.

Silly question. I had to reset my Google Chrome due to a malware check.

When I click on a "send email" link in Chrome, a new email pops up in my Gmail browser. However, I would like it to open a new email in MS Outlook 2010.

There must be a "set MS Outlook 2010" as default when clicking on email links in Chrome, but I can't seem to find it. I have already made Outlook the default program for email, but that didn't take care of the issue.

Thank you so much.

Hi all,
I am using outlook 2010, windows 8 on an Asus UX32A latop. I have an intermittent problem in that, when I go abroad, from some wireless networks (hotels or otherwise) I can send emails and others (increasingly more often), I cant. I have searched the web and this seems to be a common problem with port 25  (outgoing server - SMTP)  blocking being frequently identified as the culprit. However, I have tried a number of alternative ports to 25, but thus far to no avail.
If anyone out there has any ideas I would greatly appreciate them!

A:Outlook 2010, can receive but not send email abroad - intermittent problem

You would have to check with your email service provider to see if they have alternative mail servers and alternative ports available. If their mail servers are configured to use only port 25, then check to see if you can access your email using a web browser, as ports 80 and 443 are almost never blocked. It's not as convenient as Outlook, but at least it will work.

Windows Mail came with Vista after Microsoft discontinued Outlook Express. On Win7 and Win8/8.1 I've had better success with Windows Live Mail, part of Windows Essentials, than with Outlook for most folks. An issue with one yesterday on Win8.1 and its Mail was that for ease it worked best to have a Microsoft account such as or so I removed that tile and setup Windows Live Mail to use with his local ISP account. Now if you are confused by names, join the crowd, Microsoft seems to love confusing us like they did with Works and Works Suite.

A:419 scams constantly show up in the junk folder for my college email in outlook 2010

The problem may not be that your e-mail was harvested from or sold by one of the communities you've used it to sign up for. Sending an e-mail is, for all intents and purposes, free and so an enormous number of e-mails can be sent for mere pennies. This allows spammers to simply fire off e-mails to any number of addresses at once, without regard to whether the addresses all exist. Once they pick a domain (and .edu domains are good targets since in many cases every student (and, like you, alumni) usually has there own account, often with predictable names (for example John Smith might be [email protected]) Many e-mail transfer agents will "bounce" an invalidly addressed e-mail back to the sender, which the spammers can use to clear out invalid addresses from their list.On the other hand, it's by no means impossible that one of the communities you've signed up for has leaked your e-mail address, either intentionally or not. Many online communities share their members' info, or part of it, with third parties such as advertisers or corporate affiliates. These advertisers and affiliates may leak the info to their affiliates, and so forth. Any one of these entities might have sold or have stolen their database of user information. To put it simply: it's generally not practical to track down from where a particular spammer acquired your address. One solution available in some e-mail services (notably GMail) is the ability to tack on arbitrary information to your e-mail address and still have it arrive in your inbox. This extra info takes the form of [email protected] The plus sign (+) and everything after it to the @ sign are ignored for the purposes of addressing a particular account but can be used to identify the source of the e-mail. For example, if you had the address [email protected] and you wanted to sign up at, you could supply this as your e-mail address: [email protected] All e-mails sent to that address would arrive in your inbox (or spam folder) just like any other message, but you would be able to see that the specific address you gave to was used. Thus, if a spam arrives addressed to [email protected] from anyone else but, you would know from where the spammer got your address. And lastly, if the To: field of an e-mail is blank it generally means that only the BCC: field was specified, which allows the sender to send the e-mail to many addresses without revealing those addresses to every recipient.

I've just upgraded to Outlook 2010, and now I find that links in emails I send and receive are not "hot." I aways message in Plain Text format because much of my emailing is done on Plain-Text-only mailing lists. Switching to HTML format is not an option.

How can I get Outlook 2010 make hyperlinks in email messages "hot"?

Win7 Ultimate (64)
Office 2010 (32)
Browser: IE8

A:Outlook 2010 hyperlinks in email "cold"

This is how it works in Outlook 2007 - hope it is valid for Outlook 2010 also.
Click "New" to start a new email message
Click the Office Orb (top left)
Click on "Editor Options" (bottom right)
Click "Proofing"
Click "AutoCorrect Options..."
Under "Replace", ensure that "Internet and network paths with hyperlinks" is checked
When you type a link into your plain text email, make sure you hit Space or Enter after the link to force it to go hot
However, in my experience, links in plain text emails do have a habit of sometimes going cold again when the message is sent, and I haven't found a fix for that - I assume it is something to do with the recipient's setup.

Anyway, hope this helps

A:Creating a Task in Outlook 2010 from a Word 2010 Document

I think this will do the job for you:
Add & Create Outlook 2010 Tasks From Word 2010

You can create a task from Word 2010 document and save it under Outlook 2010 tasks. This feature is by default concealed but you can make it apparent on Quick Access toolbar and use it directly.

In order to use this feature, you need to make this feature apparent on Word 2010 Quick Access Toolbar, head over to Quick Access Toolbar and from small drop down button click More Commands.

You will reach Word Options dialog. Hit drop-down button present beneath the Choose commands and select All Commands. Now scroll-down the list and find Create Microsoft Outlook Task command. Select it and click Add (>>) to show it on Quick Access toolbar pane. Once added, hit OK.

First save the document and then select any portion of the text in the document from which you want to create the task, from Quick Access toolbar, click Outlook task button.

Upon click, it will create Outlook task for the Word document and you will reach Outlook Task dialog where you can set Start and Due date for the task and add more information about it. Save & close the task to view it under Outlook tasks.

When opening task in Outlook 2010, you can also view the document from which it was created from, just double-click the document to open it.

I had a problem with Outlook emails hanging up in the outbox and then sending as many as 14 copies of the same message. I was unable to fix this Using the "Repair" function of the upgrade installation disk (created from the downloaded file). I removed Office completely and tried to reload; however, my disk got corrupted and Outlook is no longer available. Is there a way to recover Outlook without having to purchase it separately? I am using Office Professional Plus 2010 Home Use Program. The email that came with the original download from Digital River states to go to the "Account Management Console" to reload; however, this is on a hard copy and the original email with the link is no longer available. If you downloaded this from Digital River, then you may be able to download it again, contact them and ask.

If you can download the install file again and it works, burn yourself a CD of the downloaded install file.

As a work around...Export your contacts from Outlook to csv then import (text) to Access. File > Options > Advanced...Export is midway down the page

Every day I send out excel documents that I then convert to pdf s I use the same excel template on each document The only thing that changes in each document per recipient is the quot name quot quot company quot amp quot email quot fields in the excel document Question Is there a way I can get these documents to interface with outlook so that when I select more than one person Outlook & 2010 2010 Excel fields Populate to receive the document as many as people will Outlook 2010 & Excel 2010 Populate fields receive the same document and auto populate the contact info quot name quot quot company quot quot email quot This way would save me a few steps so that I don t have to pick a contact type all their info in the fields send Select my next contact enter appropriate info in the fields and repeat and repeat I m emailing job specific information to everyone working on the same job I m sending it to multiple people but need it to look like they were the only one who received the document Just like when you get an email about the quot deal of the week quot that says quot Dear Mr Johnson How s your summer going quot while someone in NYC gets the same letter that says quot Dear Mr Thompson How s your summer going quot from the same sender Of course the deal of the week changes each week How can I make this happen If there is a better way outside using excel to create pdfs or a totally different method entirely I m all ears I just need to send the information and it not be able to be easily modified by the recipient I know there has to be a more efficient way to do this Thank you for your help nbsp

Hi all
Having totally WIPED office 2010 from my system and re-installed again the problem I had with the "Purge" folder not appearing now is SOLVED.

However you still don't get a line through the deleted items -- but they are in Trash folder now.

This is BETTER but still NOT WHAT IS NEEDED -- as another computer with Outlook 2007 doesn't get the "Non purged" items in the inbox which it should do.

IMAP should effectively leave items in the Inbox until purged -- otherwise I might as well go back to POP3 - more fiddly to manage whern you leave stuff on the server but it works.

What I'm resigned to doing now is to use the REST of the office 2010 suite (EXCEL etc) which is really good but stick with Outlook 2007 for email.

A:Outlook 2010 Saga with IMAP, Can I use Office 2010 and

I do like the way 2010 deletes the emails without purge, but I have found that rules randomly fail and some mail goes awol for a while when switching between folders (it reappears after a while)

IMO outlook 2003 is still the best (I hated 2007) but I will reserve full judgement until 2010 is out of beta.

I have a situation where someone has 2 email addresses. One of them is now redundant and I have deleted it from the People section. However, when I am set to make a new email to that person and type the first letter of their name, in the pop up window (that you can click on) their old email address still appears.
How do I delete this from that list? Can find no way to do so.

A:Outlook Email - Deleting Wrong Email Entry when starting new email

In new email, start typing the address you want to remove. When you have enough characters for auto complete to show it (sometimes one letter is enough), use DOWN ARROW key on keyboard to select the address in question and press DEL key.

That's it.

I have had a terrible time trying to trace down "not responding" in various programs. About 90% of the time however, it occurs in Outlook 2010 and sometimes in Word 2010. I took down the information from the event viewer after the last time it happened so badly that I had to restart the program because waiting didn't bring it back.
Win 7 Prof, SP1. i7, 930 with 24 gig of 1333 Kingston HyperX ram. Several drives: C SSD Plextor and Office is actually installed on a WD Caviar. Neither drive show errors. Only thing I see is that the Caviar is using Microsoft 2006 driver and I haven't been able to find a newer driver. Happens when SATA is set to AHCI and when it is set to IDE.

Thanks for any help or suggestions you can offer.
BTW, I have run scannow and also have gone through my pst files and archived.

The email program I actively use is Outlook Express. When I click on a direct link within an email or web site context, my computer uses Microsoft Outlook instead of Outlook Express. Then it puts the message into MS Outbox and it dies there. Please help me! Trish Miller email: [email protected]

A:MS Outlook email is stealing Outlook Express email

Not sure how to get Outlook Express to steal back your Outlook email, but here's how you stop Outlook from stealing the email in the 1st place:

(1) In IE, go to Tools >> Internet Options (you can also access Internet Options from Control Panel).
(2) Click on the Programs tab.
(3) Click the drop-down next to Email, and change it to Outlook Express.
(4) Click Apply and OK.

I am attempting to find add-ons for Outlook 2010. This is what I need the add-on to do:
Export an email from Outlook onto our server, and into a job folder.
Save file with date email was received, not exported out of Outlook, and subject line.

A:Outlook 2010/export emails from outlook to CSV folder with received date and subject

Why not drag and drop the email to the file system?

I have a new Dell Inspiron 14Z running windows 7 pro 64bit and i'm using Microsoft office 2010.
I'm trying to retrieve archived emails that i backed up on an external hard drive from a previous computer, the files are .pst which is an outlook format but i keep on getting an error message saying the file is not an Outlook data file (.pst).
i dont have any other way to retrieve these emails since they were deleted from the server and its about 1.5 years of work emails. Not sure what to do? should i move the files from the external driver to a different location on the computer and open them, or are they corrupted and need to be fixed?

A:Archived outlook files will not open on outlook 2010, any suggestions?

This might help you: Fix Outlook 2010 Problem: PST File Repair Tool

In short, there's a PST file repair tool included with Office 2010, but no shortcut to the tool exists in the start menu. The above link tells you how to find the tool and run it - see if it can fix up your PST file and make it readable by Outlook 2010.
