I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Try to download drivers.
Or download Microsoft Downloader (new version) and try to update the installation

Hi, i have a Microsoft Lifecam VX1000 with the windows 7 drivers, and Windows Live Messenger 2009, i can view the webcam in audio video setup within WLM, and if i send vidoe, contacts can see the video, but WLM becomes completely unresponsive and i have to close it down in taskmanager. I've searched everywhere for the solution to this, but nobody else seems to have had the same problem. Incidentally, i have done completely clean reinstallations of WLM and the Lifecam with registry and everything, still no luck. Help please?

A:Lifecam VX1000 wont send video in Windows Live Messenge

Have you tried a completely clean instal of Win7? To ensure some third party software installed along the way isnt somehow interferring?

Also what build of Win7 are you using? It's possible a more recent build (such as the final RTM) might resolve the issue

Update. Microsoft offered to replace cam so I returned it to retailer instead. I traded it for a different manufacturers camera, am I permitted to say (a Logitech HD webcam C510), which installed perfectly, including identifying I had Skype, Windows Live and Facebook. I believe the problem was software.

Why doesn't my microsoft lifecam work with windows 7? Is there a simple way to fix this problem?

A:Windows 7/Microsoft Lifecam

We would need the model number to tell you a reason to why it is not working, and if there is a fix.. If there is no supported driver for windows7, you may need to attempt to use a Windows Vista driver and run it in compatibility mode.

If these options are not possible, you may have to purchase a new one.

Please reply back with the model of the webcam.

Have you tried rebooting yet? See if you can uninstall the device in Device Manager, reboot, and let Windows install the drivers for it.

Hello people. I am new Here and first of all I want to say Hello!

Well, two days ago I bought the Microsoft LifeCam Vx 6000 and I installed it over Windows 7 64 bits version. The cam Works but the quality image is... very granulated. It's not clear. I tried to change with all webcam Resolutions but always seems granulated.

Here is an example of how my webcam does look: Imageshack - 20091230233037436

and the another problem is.. When I use the option of "Show your webcam to a friend" in Windows Live Messenger the Webcam Image is very lagged like if my internet connection was slow.. but I have a 3 MB internet connection. If I use the "Video Call" option, the Webcam Image looks just fine.

I am using the LifeCam 3.0 Drivers for Windows 7.

Hi Guys, I'm new in here. I like this forum and that was the only forum I found many solution to my problem.

The problem is simples but I don't know if is simple to resolve.

I've download the last Driver for Microsoft LifeCam 3.0 and installed. Because I know that the 3.0 version is compatible with Windows 7 x86 and x64.

No problem, the driver was installed with success but when I start the "Microsoft Life Cam" software I receive the message:

"Initialization error..."

And the weird is normal in "Device Manager":

I've just tested my Webcam in other PC running Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and work perfectly.

I guess the problem is happennig because I'm running a x64 version.

Well, somebody have any suggestion?

Thanks a lot.

Matiello

A:Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 / Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Well, I'd test that x64 hypothesis if I could on another computer. It doesn't really sound right to me.

Another thing could be there was a hiccup in installing the drivers and you need to reinstall them. Uninstall the old driver completely and reinstall them.

There could be a potential hardware compatibility issue somewhere down the line.

Another thing you could do if you have the time is make a spare partition and install the x86 version on it and try the camera there and see if you still have issues, if so, then that makes it lean towards a hardware incompatibility issue.

Not sure its a app problem or LifeCam Studio issue.
I've purchased a new desktop and install Windows 10 Home edition (fresh install). After using for 1 month, I get a webcam (LifeCam Studio). The cam is good and no need to install anything, the "Camera App" work right away. However, when I launch theTranslator app, when I click on the camera icon, the following message display:
"We couldn't get your camera started. Try using the keyboard to translate."
Check and confirmed that under:setting->Privacy->Camra is turned on and allow translator to use the camera
Why can't the translator app make use the cam and how to resolve it ? Thanks.

A:Uninstalling Windows Live Essentials and windows live mesh activex control for remote connections

Someone else will have to advise you regarding Windows Live Mesh. I know nothing about that. For Windows Live Essentials: If you cannot remove WLE using add remove programs try Revo Uninstaller. If I remember correctly it will not ask which components you want to remove. Here is how to use Revo Uninstaller: 1) First we download it from here: Revo Uninstaller Free Version. Scroll down the page for the free version download. You can skip this Step if you already have it installed. However, you may need to update it. If you have it installed already, and you need to update it, go ahead and open it up and click the AutoUpdate Icon next to Help. The use of this program makes registry changes based upon what you select for removal from the Registry. Before running Revo Uninstaller please run ERUNT before proceeding to back up your registry in case you make a mistake. 2) Select the Program to remove from the list of programs and click the Uninstall button: 3) After selecting the program you want to remove, and confirming you want to uninstall the program, then you will want to select the Advanced Option: 4) Click Next. This will start the uninstaller for the application you picked. When the uninstaller is done, and it proves to be successful, and a reboot is required, then select NO and continue the below steps. 5) Follow the prompts during the uninstallation of the application. Once it closes you will be at this window: 6) Click Next again. Once the window is done scanning for files and other things that did not get removed, you will be presented with this window: . You will want to select only the bolded items, then click on Delete. If any entries-usually the last thing listed and not in bold-have a + sign click on the + until you see more bolded items. Once done, click Next. If it asks you to delete other files, then do so, but pay attention to the warnings.

This is a slightly annoying problem. I've disabled Windows Live Messenger from starting up, both through Messenger's options and through MSCONFIG. The program doesn't start when Windows starts. But when I log on to Windows Live Mail through a web browser, Messenger starts up on it's own. I cannot figure out a way to disable this. I've looked through Live Mail options and can't find anything to denote starting up the program. I only use my Live Mail account for junk mail, but need to check it occasionally and would prefer it if Messenger didn't start up on it's own.

Microsoft kicked off the month of May by announcing that they are discontinuing the Windows Live brand, saying the Windows Live apps and services were built on versions of Windows that weren’t designed to connect to a cloud service and citing customer confusion. They released a chart showing the transition process for many of the current services.

This seems to be further confirmation of Microsoft’s “all in” commitment to the cloud, but had some folks worried that we’re going to lose some of our most useful applications, such as Windows Live Writer. A petition sprang up to beg Microsoft not to kill it.

A tweet from Chris Jones (Windows Live VP) on May 3 seems to lay those fears to rest, saying: “all desktop apps work great and are supported on Windows 8, including WL Writer.”

Hey everyone,

I really hope someone can help me with this one. I don't know what's going on. I never had any problems installing MSN Live before and now, it's a real pain.

I just got my PC back from the tech guy. He formated my computer and reinstalled Windows XP including the Updates.

Now at home, I'm trying to install Windows Live Messenger (MSN) and it's not working. It's giving me errors like, to check that I have enough hard disk space (I have 176 GB free space), If my computer has a firewall ( I don't), and that I make sure that my computer meets the system requirements ( I do meet the requirements).

Now, I don't know what to do anymore to get MSN Live.

Can please someone help me with this?

Thanks,

I have been using WLM since its introduction, and I plan to keep on using it.
I have a pop account and a Hotmail account configured in it.
If something goes awry on my Hotmail account, I can always access my Hotmail account via my web browser. Does not bother me.

Writing on the wall ?
Maybe. There are always other email clients capable to do the same job.
I'll never use the Mail app. It sucks.
Some members recommend eM Client.

Well I've been at this for 8 hours now with nothing but a desire to toss the box. Trying to install Lifecam vx 2000. Loaded up just fine on my laptop but my main box says "can't find hardware...INF file was written for 1995 or later" I've been everywhere on this one and am now fried. About the only thing that I can guess that is weird about my box is that it came with Vista and I had a tech install my old XP home in it instead.

Any thoughts.

I downloaded the LifeCam 3.0 beta so I can use my camera with Windows 7.  On installation I it runs through the progess bar 5 or 6 times, then gives me an error message that it was "Unable to install the software due to an unexpected error."This happened 3 different times.  Any ideas?

A:LifeCam 3.0 won't install

Hi, when you ran the installation file (that I assume you downloaded from MS) did you right click on it and choose Run as Adminstrator?  Did you try disabling your virus checker/firewall software while you installed?
I just noticed, the lifecam software is 2.91 not 3.0... http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/windows7/support.mspx  did you get the right download?

Hello everyone i have windows 7 32 bit and i have installed and used my lifecam vx-3000 and loved it but gave it up for a few months and went to start it up and the lifecam default program stops responding. i also used webcammax but that stopped responding also... i have uninstalled the drivers and software and have reinstalled everything and i get nothing in return. also the lifecam default program, when i run it with the webcam unplugged, says no cam plugged into this pc, so it's not the program. plz help

Test the cam on another PC. That will verify a cam or PC/software issue.

Downloaded the LifeCam 4.25 software and installed it (Win 8 x64, HD-5001 webcam). After doing the install (uninstalled the old version first) upon rebooting there is no LifeCam software listed in my Start menu-Programs (I use Start8). I do a search but it says no lifecam.exe is found. LifeCam 4.25 shows in the programs in the Control Panel though.
Webcam works fine ( I use oovoo) but I wanted o be able to use LifeCam software as well to adjust the webcam.

I'm new to this forum - I have installed, uninstalled and reinstalled this program and still cannot actually have the cam work. I keep getting the error message "This error report includes information regarding the condition of LifeCam.exe when the problem occurred; the operating system version and computer hardware in use; your digital product ID which could be used to identify your license and internet protocol of your computer." Then it shuts down. This has happened over and over and I'm getting nowhere fast! I must be doing something wrong but can't figure out what. I've followed instructions in the set up but am still having problems. Any ideas on how to solve this problem? Thanks.

Hi,
What Service Pack do you have installed?
You need XP SP2 or higher.

See if this software will install:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/do...SP2x64&lang=en

Some firewalls will not allow the software to be installed.
Have you disabled your security before installing the software?

For the Lifecam VX-3000

1. Download, extract and install the Windows 7 Lifecam Drivers from the link

2. Once installation is finished you should have your USB Camera plugged in and that compatibility issue coming up.

3. Cancel everything and go to device manager (Right click computer -> Manage -> Device Manager)

4. You should see under imaging devices your webcam but with a yellow sign on it.

5. Right click it and go to update driver software

6. Click Browse your computer... and then click let me choose... there should be a button saying "Have Disk", Click on this and click on browse...

7. Locate the downloaded and extracted folder and go to:

LifeCam edit\setup\microsoft lifecam\driver64\vx3000

8. There should be a vx3000.inf file there, open this and click ok, you should see the driver listed, click ok and you will be asked if you want to install this driver warning by Windows, click Install Anyway and another compatibility error will come up, ignore this.

9. Check back on device manager if the yellow sign is on the webcam anymore, if not then everything is working fine.

Enjoy your cam.

I hope this quick little step by step will help a lot of you out.

I keep getting this error: "Insufficient disk space" or Error 1603 when you try to install IntelliPoint, IntelliType Pro, or LifeCam software

It doesn't say insufficient disk space. Just says it's aborted the installation. It might be something with the fact the software downloads and installs. Why can't they just give me an .exe installer file? UGH

I have tried everything on that support doc...spent hours trying to figure this out and I hit that error every time.

Is anyone STILL struggling? I have contacted MS support but I wasn't around when they contacted me and who knows how long it will take for the guy on the other side of the world to baby step me through the whole support doc over again.

I will post any system info if needed. Just wanted to know if A) anyone has solved this, or B) anyone still having problems with installation after following all the steps.

A:LifeCam 3.0 can't install; tried everything

I get error an error code 953691 when installing lifecam software for vista

A:trying to install lifecam

That error can occur if the camera is plugged in to the PC before you begin the software installation. Unplug the camera from the usb port first. Now install the software. At some point during the software installation, it will prompt you to plug the camera in to the usb port. Do not plug it in until it prompts you to do so.

That procedure applies to most USB devices which require external driver software (eg printers, scanners etc)

Hi,

I have the above mentioned webcam and Windows 7 Build 7000 x64 will not properly load the driver. Installing the driver is not a problem, but when I connect my webcam and windows tries to load the driver I get an error. This webcam worked in Vista 64 so it's odd that it is not working now. I'm starting to think that it's a permission issue somewhere.

I know one person has posted a similar issue about his VX1000 but that was a week ago and I'm curious to see if someone has managed to get this webcam working or has had another piece of hardware act this same way.

Thanks in advance.

Microsoft Lifecam 5000 Problem - I have read a lot of posts on the microsoft website when I googled the problem and I tried most of it. Nothing worked.

I have reinstalled drivers, software, tried different usb slots, RR computer countless times.

Basically - the computer knows that its connected and can see it - but then it wont work. For example - skype recognises that its a LifeCam 5000 and the light on the cam turns on for a bit, but no picture. It has worked before on Skype but now it won't for some reason.

The LifeCam software says that there is no webcam connected to the computer, which is also weird if skype can see that it is connected. So I am stuck.

Anyone have any idea's please!!

The only hardware issue (besides a printer issue) I had after upgrading from win 7 64 to Win9Pro, was the breaking of the Life Cam software. The updated version LifeCam 4.20 would not have an .exe after upgrading windows or reinstalling the software/driver.
I found the solution on a Microsoft tech talk.

For those who hadn't found the solution...

If you have LifeCam 4.20 installed uninstall it and restart.

Download LifeCam 3.60 for win 7 32 -64 Install it and when a pop up tells you that it is not designed for the OS, click install it anyway.

Go to Windows update and check for updates and you will have a "Important Update" for the LifeCam.
Install the update and it works. You get your LifeCam Exe icon back and also the latest driver.

Back to normal! It also improves the performance when using the Camera App.

A:MS LifeCam Cinema fixed

Tpnight the full 4.20 was automatically installed when I wasn't paying attention and exe ICON was gone again, Rinse repeat. Back to norma; again and 3.20 wuth driver only again. Next time I will hide the second update. Hopefully MS will come up with a non-broken update.

A:Lifecam.exe fails on initialization

Hi,
Since this issue occurred recently, I suggest you try system restore to go back to a previous good time point firstly.
Also, try to refer to the following article to troubleshoot this issue:

I've used this camera on a different computer, and it has worked perfect for hours at a time. I've removed software, re-installed many times.
everytime i use this camera with Skype on my computer it will lose sound on the other end (mine always works fine) and they complain of static, or it will crash my computer. 9/10 times i use Skype there will be small horizontal lines across the screen.... just before it starts to lose the connection. No Skype help menus are able to fix this problem.

Please help...
Thanks

What ever web service you are using (skype, microsoft messanger, yahoo) open up that page and go to tools look for camera settings, under video, click on the arrow on the screen, then select your camera then check ok, or apply, it should work.

Try going into the system settings and update the driver and be sure to let it search online. Initially there was no updated driver but there is now a new one that it will update and make it work correctly again.

A:Lifecam HD-3000 Occupied Already in Use

sounds to me like there is possibly some irq conflicts(interrupt request). Which basically tells what part of windows resources the device should use. I would go into the device manager of the control panel and try checking to make sure the automatic irq box is checked. That should be in the system tab of the control panel.

Hi I keep seeing my old webcam in drop down lists such as picasa import list yet had deleted it over 2 years ago, I have tried all the conventional methods of searching and deletion but it keeps showing up!
Advice on how to rid myself of this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

A:un-installing microsoft lifecam vx-3000

Maybe I should not post this for fear it will get you into trouble; but, here goes anyway. First off, I have done this little procedure, myself, many times with success; but, this information, misused, can destroy an OS.

The problem with the developer-furnished uninstalls is that they are almost always incomplete so I find myself frequently editing the Windows Registry (in this case, deleting lines) to get rid of annoying remnants like the one you describe.

First, I would create a complete drive image of the partition containing my operating system. Then, I would start Regedit and do a search for every line containing "lifecam" (sans quotes). I would delete every line I found containing that text string and every line I accidentally found as a result of that search that is related to lifecam.

There you have it. If you try this, please do the imaging part first so you don't wind up with just four toes.

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone had any success with drivers for the LifeCam VX-3000 specifically, or the LifeCam series in general on the 7600 build of Windows 7. For me, I have not been able to get the 2.91 beta drivers from Microsoft to work. After they install, I get a message that pops up saying they driver has been blocked, blah blah blah, known issues with this version of Windows.

It's not a HUGE deal as I'm sure there will be drivers eventually, but it is something of an annoyance. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

The lifecam dashboard comes up, no problem; but when on msn instant messenger.. the other person hears my voice, but can't see me. I can see them, hear them..they can hear me but can't see me. I restarted, re-booted, removed all unused usb devices, plugged in camera usb to back of tower.
I'm using a gateway SX2840-01, windows 7 home premium 64-bit, intel core i3,processor 530, 6GB DDR3, hard drive 1T, multi-in-one digital media manager, integrated intel GMA HD graphics, DVD-super Multi drive.

Thank you, I hope.

Just got ms lifecam cinema, plugged it in. Drivers installed automaticaly, then i got prompt about installing lifecam app, so did it as well.
However, there is no image from the camera, compatibility troubleshooter says that lifecam software is incompatible, and apps like skype report that they cannot access camera (and try to close other programs...)

after trying to access cam from any app, led on camera starts glowing, but still no image transfered to computer.
(tried with skype, lifecam app, camera app from metro, msn messenger)

i uninstalled app, reinstalled driver, installed older version of app etc, and it's still not working.

anybody have any idea how to deal with it? can't find any solution on this forum nor google.

I bought a round of micro$oft lifecam vx-3000's for my family for xmas so we could stay in touch. 3 are working, but one is having a strange problem that I can't seem to find any support on.

When making a video call with windows live, the video will come in, but the audio is all choppy.

Until....

Any maximized window is opened in front of it. As soon as a window is in front of messenger the audio works fine, but of course no video can be seen. When messenger is brought to the foreground, the audio goes choppy again.

Updated video/audio drivers. No luck. Added a pci USB card to solve another issue hoping this would be lumped in there. No luck.

XP home SP2.

Ideas?

Thanks

Greetings y'all I've got a situation over here I have two MS Lifecam HD- USB webcams that I use Lifecam software... party MS 3rd any Hd-3000 + for surveillance MS Lifecam Hd-3000 + any 3rd party software... For years I've used a program called Contacam put out by one fellow somewhere over in the UK Contaware com - Video Surveillance and Graphics Software It's a great little program which allows for some pretty granular motion detection which is exactly what I need I'll say a few words about that at the end So this set-up has served me well and even worked with the initial release of Win up to and including the last RTM - build TH On the insider fast ring here and the camera set-up hasn't worked in any build since the last RTM I'm currently on rs Lemme throw a few things out there that I'm already aware of Yeah two USB cams same make model Windows used to have real trouble with this back in Win days and before but ever since device manager was able to differentiate duplicates by appending quot quot to like device names I haven't had much trouble On the software side you just give the two devices different names upon installation such as Security Cam and Security Cam Then we have USB bandwidth Yes again back in USB or days it would cause trouble Ever since USB and and what with motherboards typically offering - hubs it hasn't caused me much trouble In my case each camera is on it's own hub controller with nothing else And I still have a couple extra USB and USB and ports for all my other devices I reckon we can eliminate the quot same make and model quot and quot USB bandwidth quot issues Here's the meat The devices install plug amp play Device manager see's them and differentiates them The silly Win Camera app actually WORKS It's the only thing that does Not only do I get a beautiful picture from the MS camera app it's got a screwy looking transparent icon at the top center of the screen which when you click on it switches to the other camera Beautiful picture there too So both cameras work both drivers work with no conflicts both everything is fine and dandy As long as you use the MS camera app I can't get ANY other software to connect to the cameras I've downloaded iSpy and about others Each and every program including my beloved contacam can SEE both cameras upon installation This is normally a procedure of somehow clicking quot add camera quot and then using a drop-down box or similar UI to select the device manager tag quot MS Lifecam HD- quot But nothing can connect I just get black screens on both cameras for all apps except the silly MS Camera app I'm wondering if its some sort of timing issue So I monkey around with video resolution and FPS settings To no avail the default settings are usually correct anyway but it doesn't seem to matter because we are not getting any video stream to quot adjust quot All the programs are failing at the connect phase I've been trying to run this down for a couple days now I'm pretty tech savvy I'm educating myself on WDM drivers on account I've seen that referenced in many of the rd party programs I've downloaded In that they usually say something like quot Our software supports thousands of USB web cams - anything that uses WDM drivers quot Any thoughts or ideas I can answer questions about my system specs and go fairly deep tech-wise I'm retired now but I once was a PC technician Ha Lastly I have a sort of business hobby which requires the surveillance In case you are interested because it is a bit unusual I'm not watching baby sitters or cats I have animals outside The animals are alligators in a big pond My house sits mostly on land but extends out over the water a bit The house is raised about ' off the ground Here in Southeast Louisiana this is very common We have these things called hurricanes every now and again and when they come you pray ' off the ground is enough I currently have one nesting female just under the house Spring is coming She is laying eggs Alligator eggs I've i... I have searched up and down the corners of the internet to try and rememdy my problem.

First, my webcam wouldnt work AT ALL in WLM. It'd work in everything else BUT Windows Live Messenger. Only the microphone from it would work. I reinstalled the drivers and I GUESS that fixed it...but here is the problem. When I have a video call with someone on MY END it has the image of a webcam with the red X, meaning its not working. But to my surprise, it actually works just fine for the person I'm having a contact with!

I'm glad my webcam works and all, but it's kind of a nuisance having it trick me into thinking it's NOT working. Is there a way to solve this? I'm almost too scared to mess with anything else now that the camera is actually FUNCTIONING...BARELY.

Thanks for any help in advance and I can provide more details if needed.
