I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi guys, I've had this problem for a little while now, but I now have a pressing need to use a program requiring .NET 4 Framework, and I just can't install it. Every time I do I get the message "Fatal Error During Installation". I've tried pretty much everything and searched countless forums for a solution, but with no joy
Help greatly appreciated
Here's my log:

Hi Laxeyman, welcome to SevenForums!

From the looks of it, you're using a web installer (a small program which downloads more files to install once you run it). Is this correct?

You might try downloading the offline (complete) setup file instead. You can get it directly from here.

Try running this download and let us know if it works. If you still run into the same error, we'll go from there and find another solution.

Has the that particular frame work ever been installed on the machine, even in the beta form>? If So follow this:

Quote:
I'd suggest looking under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services] on your computer to see if you already have a version of that service installed (maybe from an older beta or something like that?), and if so, manually remove it to see if that helps solve this error.

Before i explain in detail and post all the things you ask in the instructions i need to know what do you need from the CBS folder?.
At the moment the CBS log is 125MB which is too much to upload accordingly with sevenforums uploading rules. Also I had some CAB files which were pretty heavy.

shall i delete everything in the folder and start sfc /scannow again??

thanks

Please follow the Windows Update Posting Instructions and post the requested data

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

Hello,

I had MSE installed and removed it because I kept getting error 0x800106ba when trying to run a full scan on my computer. I've been trying to reinstall MSE but keep getting error 0x80070643. My Windows firewall is on. I have no other anti-virus program installed. I've restarted my computer and tried reinstalling MSE and still get this error code 0x80070643. I tried repairing Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.2.

I would really like to have MSE installed so your assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I've tried:

1. Net Framework Cleanup Tool

3. Microsoft FixIt
4. Windows 7 Repair Install
5. SFC /scannow --> no problems
6. Clean Boot
7. Made sure Administrators, SYSTEM, and my personal account have proper permissions in the registry

11. Renamed Assembly in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET
12. Tried to give all accounts full permissions to the Microsoft.NET folder but got "Access Denied" errors (tried taking ownership of the folder)
13. Windows Installer Cleanup Utility
14. Made sure Framework 3.5 was selected in Windows Features

A:Compaq Presario generates Fatal System Error when attempting PC Restore

If you decide you need the 2-CD system recovery disc kit for that Compaq Presario SR1750NX (EL445AA) desktop, you can purchase it from Computer Surgeons HP Recovery Center for $27.00 plus shipping.

That desktop was manufactured in November 2005, so HP will no longer have it available for purchase.

The kit will allow it to be reverted back to its original factory condition - complete with all the software and "bloatware" that came in it.

If the hard drive dies and needs to be replaced, the kit is going to be needed anyway to get that desktop going again.

Try wiping the HD first with Diskpart Clean Command using the Win7 disk or Repair CD System Recovery Options.

If Recovery disks still fail to complete then using the installer provided to do the vastly superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

If this has the same problem then test the Hard Drive with the maker's bootable HD Diagnostic CD scan.

My Hp Pavilion Laptop dv6-3010, Windows 7, 64 bit sytem, with 8 gig Ram, will NOT complete installation of any updates.

After it downloads all the updates it initiates the installation of those updates. It looks like everything is going OK, I get the following message: Configuring Windows Update...Do NOT turn off Computer. Then I get a final message: FAILURE CONFIGURING SVS PACK. REVERTING CHANGES.

I have contacted Microsoft Support and they had me do all types of fixes, reboots, and re-attempting the update procedures...but nothing seemed to correct the problem.

One suggestion was that I go ahead and reinstall Windows 7. I really would rather NOT do that if at all possible. I have so many programs that I have installed that are critical to my business....and that would be a last resort resolution.

Can anyone tell me what is causing this problem of Windows not being able to Configure the Service pack installation?
Thanks
Dieter

My guess is it's a virus. Appears to have disabled MSE, tells me "due to an unidentified problem, windows cannot display windows firewall settings" when trying to turn on Windows Firewall. MSE does not appear in the add/remove programs list and will not allow deletion any other way. When trying to browse, it sends me to other bogus sites at random. When trying to reinstall MSE gives me the error: 0x80070643. Windows XP Home SP3

I have to install an application for a job and when I run it, .NET Framework 3.0 is installed first , but it fails giving a 1603 error.

I tried changing the Permissions from this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Security\ServiceModel 3.0.0.0 to allow Everyone.

I made sure no firewall or other registry program was running.

I also downloaded an application called Error Fixer, or MS-Fixer or something like that, which I read about on these fora, but that didn't work either. It only prompted me to buy if I wanted it to do something.

I also tried to open the exe file using 7-Zip, so I could manually install .NET Framework 3.5 (already installed) and the actual program I want. But that didn't work either.

I don't know what else to do, since the problem is the version of Framework that comes with my application.

Any help? I have Vista Home Edition 32.

Hi peeps,

I am sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, I had a look through the other threads before posting this, but the ones that looked similar werent on closer inspection.

Basically, I am trying to reinstall my operating system of the top of my current install, thereby saving my files.

I have done this before booting from disc, but this time my XP disc is not working properly.

I have tried at least 20 times I kid you not, but if it doesnt blue screen at all random times whilst it loads the components of the disc, it ALWAYS blue screens at the loading windows stage.

I am wondering, how else I can reinstall XP, without having to buy a new disc, is there someway I can do this?

Cheers,

Jay

Hi and thanks for your help in advance...

I just went to log on to my computer and i got an error message stating that i had no internet security protection on my computer. It was a message from Microsoft Security Alerts. I downloaded MSSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) about a month ago and everything was fine up until now. When i got the above message, I looked to see if i still had MSSE on my desktop and it was gone!...Then, i looked in Add/Remove programs and it was missing from there also. Then when i attempted to download it again, It gave me error code 0x80070643 and said it was unable to install. I even tried removing all instances of MSSE using CCleaner and still nothing helps...

Do i have another virus?....

Can someone help me with this?

After having big problems this morning, I decided to do a reinstall of WinXP. I just checked it and now I am getting fatal errors during the reinstall.

The error reads:

Fatal Error:
An error has been encountered that prevents Setup from Continuing.
Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain more information.
Press OK to view the setup log file.
So I clicked on OK and got:

Error:
The signature for WinXP Professional Upgrade is invalid. The error code is 426. The service has not been started.

Fatal Error:
Setup failed to install the product catalogs. This is a fatal error. The setup log files should contain more information.

How do I fix this new problem? I can't access the internet from that computer because of these issues otherwise I would download a registry cleaner program.

I have the task of resolving a .NET Framework issue on a friends HP laptop running Windows XP. It seems that whenever the system starts up, an error message is displayed as follows:

hpqthb08.exe - .NET Framework initialization error. To run this application you first must install one of the following versions of the .NET Framework: v1.1.4322

I have tried to run MS updates and they fail due to this issue and when I try to remove it from the laptop I get a query for a missing file: s867460.msp. I've tried to remove it in order to re-install it thinking that the file hpqthb08.exe is somehow corrupted. However all de-installation attempts fail seeking the location of this s867460.msp file. I cannot locate a download for this file and at the moment have no idea where to turn.

Any ideas?

Error code 0x80070643 comes up whenever I try installing Microsoft Security Essentials. I had Security Essentials installed earlier but after I used the .net cleanup tool (since I had a problem with .net) it shut down and wouldn't start back up again, so I uninstalled it.

I have also tried installing AVG Internet Security but it comes up with AVG error 0xC0070643 with error message: General internal error.

I think my computer had .net framework 3.5.1 installed before but it won't install either. I got .net framework 4 to install but it didn't help and wouldn't uninstall or repair and the updates wouldn't install for it either (windows update error 66A and 643).

Please help me

A:Security Essentials Install error 0x80070643

It appears that remnants of the first Essentials is still present. Try downloading ccleaner, run it, boot and then try to install again.
http://www.piriform.com/CCLEANER
If that does not work, with system restore, go back to before the uninstall. Then download revo and uninstall. Then try to install again.

For the past couple of days, i've tried to download and install Definition Update for Windows Defender - KB2267602 (Definition 1.191.1232.0) without success. Ive already tried to use the windows update troubleshooter, manually resetting Windows Update Components, and using dism & sfc (both report no problems found). I'm not really too sure what to try after that, and I would like to fix this without having to reinstall Windows 8, if its possible.

A:Windows Update Error 0x80070643 w/ 0x80070002

I'm not sure what exactly causes that issue - but being a Defender update, perhaps wait a day or so and update with the revised version.

What I do know though, having looked at the scripts contained in the FixIt troubleshooter (WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab), is that only these versions are supported.

#Windows 7 6.1
#Windows Server 2008 R2 6.1
#Windows Server 2008 6.0
#Windows Vista 6.0
#Windows Server 2003 R2 5.2
#Windows Server 2003 5.2
#Windows XP 5.1
#Windows 2000 5.0

Thus running this on windows 8 is of no use.(albeit MS support says otherwise)

EDIT: delving deeper there is in fact windows 8 support - can't find anything relating to 8.1* (i.e 6.3) though.

Code:
elseif(([int]::Parse($OS.version[0]) -eq 6) -and ([int]::Parse($OS.version[2]) -eq 2)){

return 62 # windows 8

* EDIT2: Found something that will handle 8.1:

Code:
if($CurrentVersion -ge 6.2)
{
$Ispostback = ($true -eq (ispostbackOnWin8 "BITSDiagnsotics"))
}

Lots of scripts to go through - will get there eventually...

PS: Sorry for hijacking the thread.

0490 errors are often very difficult to resolve - and it may be easier and quicker to do a repair install, since there are so many.

See the insructions here - Repair Install - I would advise downloading the SP1 version of an install disk and using that, as it will bypass the need for the later install of SP1.

I have also tried to install latest .net4 downloaded from ms downloads, but get the same error.
The multitouch worked fine in win8 (which i hated) but this is a very clean install ( partitions removed and reformatted) of win7 ultimate, sp1 loaded. I updated as per ms instructions for all win7 updates it said i needed (not counting the Office ones i don't want). I've spent many hours now and any help would be appreciated.

A:Please Reinstall The .net Framework

Question: Did your son simply uninstall those programs or did he delete program files as well? If he did NOT delete any program files, you might be able to fix your problem by using "last known configuration." Let us know if those files were deleted or not in your next post (I hope your son remembers whether or not he did so.), then someone more knowledgeable than I can walk you through the next steps.

A:Can't reinstall net framework

Welcome aboard Let's try cleaning up your .NET framework...Download, unzip, and run the dotnetfx_cleanup_tool. It will remove the .NET framework from your computer so that we can reinstall it later. After running this cleanup tool, it should ask you to reboot. Please do so.Next, download and install dotnetfx35.exe. This will reinstall the .NET framework onto your computer. Note: this is a large file, and could take some time to download depending on the speed of your internet connection. After another reboot, download and install dotnetfx35setup.exe. This will update the .NET framework to version 3 SP1.If you need any more updates for the .NET framework, Windows Update should find it for you (assuming updates are set to automatically download and install).

When Windows Defender Real Time Protection is Enabled, and I go to Windows Update it tries to update the definitions, gets to 66% and it stalls and then I get this error message KB2267602 (Definition 1.231.870.0) - Error 0x80070643.
If I disable Real-Time Protection in Windows Defender, then check for Windows Updates, it says Your Device is Up to date?
What I have tried: I manually updated the Windows Defender Definitions in the app. I downloaded the latest definitions from Microsoft web page: Get the latest definitions - Microsoft Malware Protection Center. I deleted all the files in C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download. I ran SFC /scannow.
I ran DISM /Online /CLEANUP-IMAGE /Check Health. There were no violations.

I ran into this problem last week and spent the better part of the day trying to find a fix. The fix for me was found here:
http://www.tenforums.com/antivirus-f...tml#post852691.
I ran the two commands in the post above after I ran sfc /scannow. I hope this helps you. It seems this has been an on-going issue with Windows Defender and the fix seems to vary from user to user. Strange that this has started to appear again in the past few weeks.

Installation Error 0x80070643 - Microsoft Community

One of the more common reasons for a failed MSE install is having had some other security software on the computer. Each security vendor usually provides their own official uninstall tool. Failure to use the tool can result in bits and pieces (remnants) being left behind which can interfere with a clean install of a new product. Singular Labs has compiled a list of official uninstallers. If you had a security product installed before MSE I'd run the appropriate uninstaller(s) after reading the info file(s).

I am able to install all curent updates - including .NET packages - except for either IE10 or IE11. It's a homebuilt box. Checked for rootkits/infections, all clean. Running sfc /scannow tells me that there is a reboot pending and that I should try running it again after the system is restarted. Same happens with safe mode and running a bootable diagnostics CD I made on another system using MsDART (running it from command prompt). Using the built-in sfc (part of the MsDART's GUI) tells me there are no errors with the OS.

Suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I see that some of you were able to assist another users whose nodes had similar problems.

Hi guys,

I am getting the error 9c59 when installing IE 10 in Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

In event viewer the error code 0x80070643 is shown, reading up on this Microsoft suggests it has something to do with .net framework 4 and that this should have a repair install run. I did this but it made no difference.

I have run the SFC scan and added the logs as suggested.

Please help guys, I really don't want to have to re-install.

Hi folks!

I have a problem recently whereby when I turn on my computer, I get a message saying that the .NET framework folder is corrupt and needs to be fixed. It says I need version 2.0.50727, which I have downloaded the installer for. The problem is that when I go to install it, it launches the installer which then tells me that this version is part of the operating system and doesn't need to be installed, so the installer quits.

There is no uninstall option in the add/remove programs list, and the "corrupt" folder has been deleted, but I can't get it to reinstall. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Joe

643 errors are difficult to solve - in your situation, it will probably be easier to do a repair install with an SP1 disk, than to attempt manual repair of the existing installation.

See here for the instructions - you will need the Home Premium SP1 U Media Refresh download -

A:[SOLVED] Office updates failing to install, error 0x80070643.

Hi Fenrry it's me again

Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK. In the list of services, double-click Office Source Engine.
View the option that appears in the Startup type list.
If the startup type is set to Disabled, change the startup type to Manual. To do this, click Manual in the Startup type list, and then click OK.
Try to install the Office Update packages again.

If that's not the problem then the osa.exe may be corrupted. You can replace this using the Ghost recovery CD. Use the Ghost explorer interface to replace single file you can do this within windows so there is no need to boot to DOS. The default location of osa.exe is path:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Source Engine copy the file from the CD over to the hard drive.

Are you able to install the updates now?

Ok, I have a computer that at one time must have had the .net framework installed, but for some reason no longer does. I am trying to install 1.1 which is needed for another software program to run correctly.

I have the dotnetfx.exe file and when I run the program it goes through the installation process, until Registering SystemEnterprise.Services.dll. Then the computer just hangs - no error message, no alt-ctrl-del, nada.

I have tried everything I know, plus everything I can find on the microsoft support site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/824643/?FR=1. The only steps that I cannot do or have questions about are
#3 - there's a registry key for.NETframework, but not either of those specified.
#4 - I can't figure out a quick way to download the msizap.exe utility

Any help and suggestions would be more than welcome!

Hi,

I've had great success with you folks in the past removing viruses and with increasing my system response time and I would like to ask for your assistance once again.

I was having trouble installing the new MS update KB922770 earlier this week.
I had this problem in the past and it was resolved by deleting the .NET Framework 2.0, reinstalling it then installing the update.

Now when I try to reinstall the .NET Framework 2.0 I get the message:
C:\Documents and Settings\Beau McCrury\Desktop\.Netfx.exe is not a valid WIN32 application.

I don't know what this error message means and consequently I'm not sure what to do next. Would you please advise me on how I should proceed?

Sincerely,
Beau McCrury

A:Unable To Reinstall Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 And Update KB922770

Hi beaumac

Quick Fix Try:
1) Make sure that Update KB922770 is not present, and if it is, uninstall it [Add-Remove Programs in Control Panel]
2) Try deleting whatever .NET 2.0 download you currently have, and use this link to download a fresh copy --- http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...a/dotnetfx.exe
3) If .NET 2.0 installs successfully, you can then reboot, and try another visit to Windows Update to see if the patch now installs OK.

The error you were receiving can sometimes be generated (humorously enough) when the 64-bit version of .NET is accidentally downloaded and it's installer run [the error message is konked a bit, because 32-bit Windows gets a bit dizzy when fed 64bit code].

See if that helps
. . . Gary

After I upgrade installed 7057 on top of 7000, I got the following error message when attempting to have the system rated for WEI:

Could not measure storage performance.
The disk cannot be accurately assessed while write caching is disabled. Before re-running the Disk assessment, check the Device Manager option to enable write caching.

I attempted to get the write caching enabled, but error message said "Windows could not change the write-caching setting for this device."

Any remedy?

Hello,Please follow the instructions in ==>This Guide<==. If you cannot complete a step, skip it and continue.Once the proper logs are created, then make a NEW TOPIC and post it ==>HERE<== Please include a description of your computer issues and what you have done to resolve them.If you can produce at least some of the logs, then please create the new topic and explain what happens when you try to create the log(s) that you couldn't get. If you cannot produce any of the logs, then still post the topic and explain that you followed the Prep. Guide, were unable to create the logs, and describe what happens when you try to create the logs.Orange Blossom

I've just put together my new build, and have never came across this. Googling hasn't solved anything. All help is much appreciated Computer does seem to run okay when started.

Specs:
Gigabyte G1 Sniper B5 mobo
Intel i5 4430 CPU
Gigabyte gtx650ti OC 1gb
8GB Mushkins blackline ram
1TB Seagate HDD.
- can be more detailed on request.

Regards,

A:[SOLVED] following error on new build."fatal error: one or more table pointers are in

* Boot up the PC from your Windows installation disk * Press and hold SHIFT and then press F10 * Input "bootsect.exe /nt60 SYS /force" (without quotes) Restart the PC Note: If the above doesn't fix your boot issue then use the command "bootsect.exe /nt60 ALL /force" instead.

Which anti-virus are you trying to install?

After doing some research of the error code, i stumbled upon this: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/834484?wa=wsignin1.0

Give this a shot, to see if this will help!
