Best software for removing all crud/tmp files and zeroing free space?

Q: Best software for removing all crud/tmp files and zeroing free space?

Hi all My first post here thank you for reading it I just set up Windows installed onto an iSCSI target served by my Ubuntu box using ZFS with compression and SCST to deliver the iSCSI target Works marvellously Now I'm Best all for and zeroing software files crud/tmp space? removing free interested in snapshotting this installation at crucial points in time already have a snapshot of quot just installed first boot pending quot and quot initial configuration completed quot Anyone unfamiliar with ZFS snapshosts it's Best software for removing all crud/tmp files and zeroing free space? basically like VMware snapshots and here I have server-side compression in effect too So as I'd like to snapshot as much as possible yet waste as little space as possible I'm looking for programs that'll remove quot non-essential quot data from my drive that I'd run before powering down and then snapshotting with ZFS Non-essential data would be Windows temp local temp Chrome IE temp superfluous MSI quot rollback system update quot data like Windows as I'd already have a snapshot of before whichever update I'd installed Basically anything that is removable and still keep the system running fine Including if possible an option to zero out any unused blocks as that'd make the snapshot smaller server-side given that it'd already compressing blocks there So what are your experiences Do you know of any programs like that that would fit my needs Thanks in advance for any help Daniel

Preferred Solution: Best software for removing all crud/tmp files and zeroing free space?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The computer is a Compaq presario R3000 laptop.  Running Win Xp sp 3.

I was trying to free up space on my hard drive and wsa removing some (what I thought were unused) programs as well as deleting old pics and movie files.

Now,  It seems I may have removed something important as a lot of stuff isn;t working right or at all on my computer.

Nothing will open by double clicking the icon on the desktop, Right clicking will bring a drop menu where I can open the prgram but most either don't resond or I get some sort of error

For example, My computer shows I'm connected (wirelssly) but I open IE and the screen only starts to open the freezes and I get "not responding"  I try again and it opens and then quickly dissapears.

On my Windows XP pro computer I have an 80 gb hardrive. The drive was formated to NTFS. I got an error message today that said I was low on disk space so I took my 40+ gb movie collection and started copying them to cds. After a successful burn I would delete them from my hardrive. Unfortunatly I soon noticed that my movie files (upwards of .5 gb apiece) were not giving me extra space after I deleted them. I checked my recycle bin, no movie files there, but i emptyied it anyway. I also checked my Nero folder to make sure it hadn't saved any of the ISO's, it hadnt. Does anyone know why deleting these movie files has no affect on my disk space?

A:Deleting Files, but does not free up space

Do you have Norton Utilities (or equivalent type application) installed? If so, sometimes when you delete an item and empty the recycle bin, you still need to "Empty Norton Protected Files" to free up the space.

Also, did you try rebooting and checking the disk space? I'm not sure if that does anything, but worth a try?

Is there a way to have my files back on D: drive?

Hi! I used to be able to burn CDs without any problem...for some reason it doesn't work anymore and I've tried quite a few things after troubleshooting by searching for solutions on-line. When I insert my CD which already has a few files on it, the details shows that there is no free space but yet only 3.43MB of data on it (it should go up to 700MB). I'm therefore unable to burn more data and I've tried the same with a blank CD, it says the same (no free space even though there is nothing on the CD yet). I have already tried uninstalling the driver and it didn't fix the problem. When I right-click Properties for the drive and go to Recording tab, the 'enable CD recording on this device' is checked as it should be. Can someone point me in the right direction? THANK YOU

My NTFS non-system partition is now almost well defragmented. However this applies only to small and medium sized files.

There are still approx 40 big files (> 1 GB) which cannot be defragmented because there is no free single (!) space slot where they fit in.

So I need a way to shift all occupied clusters to get free contigous space on my hard disk.
Currently about 150 GB is be free on my partition but divided into thousand of individual chunks.

I tried now half a dozend of defragmenters.
Sad but true: NO (!) one was able to perform this easy operation.

Can someone recommend me a real defragmenter which is able to perform such a "shift" operation?

Thank you
Peter

A:How to shift all free space on hard disk to get contigous free space?

I'm not sure exactly what you have and exactly what you are trying to do.

I personally use Windows 7 built in defrag and have found nothing better.

Windows 7 will put things like Windows 7 wants and needs things put.
The Windows 7 defrag or 3rd party defrag programs doesn't care where you want things put or what order you want them.

As far as I know you will have no control over such things.
You are obviously using a 3rd party defrag tool because you are watching the little colored squares and noticing what looks like free spaces between things. Why things are defragged in the fashion they are I really don't know.
What I do know is Windows 7 defrag put things in the order that Windows 7 wants them and that is what counts.

A:Removing files and apps makes less disk space?

I could be wrong, but you could have some type of infection which is causing this problem. I know that Norton is not very effective in actually detecting many of the malware threats that currently exist.

Try doing a FULL scan with Malwarebytes after installing and updating it (if you haven't yet)

I have a small HD, and my budget doesn't allow me to buy a new one or any storage system like external HDs or DVD recorders, etc.
I want to use Google Drive to upload files, using the Desktop version installed in Windows. It works ok for me to put the files there, and forget about it since the uploads are in the background.
I don't want these services or applications running unless it's because I'm uploading the files.
The thing is, I do not want to backup in the sense of sharing files and syncing them or having more than one copy of my things.
I only want one copy, but that copy to be online so I can free space in the Hard Disk.
If you have ideas with Spideroak, Crashplan or Dropbox, I use those services as well, but what I want is the same. To store online without having a copy in my computer.
Any ideas?

Essentially you cannot do this with the software/programs these companies provide. They are designed to upload and download while storing on the hdd. In order to get copies into the cloud and off of your hdd then you should use the websites of dropbox, google drive, etc.. and sign in there, following with what you want uploaded. If they are pictures/videos/text documents you will be able to view them in the web browser, but for editing purposes and the such you would most likely need hard drive access. Basically to achieve what you want, the best way i can think of is to bookmark these websites and have your browser configured to automatically log into these services. There you can view files, and possibly edit some with features like google docs, but every time u want to use portable apps or other apps that are larger, or uncommon you will need to download them for temporary use.

Recently I made a few videos with fraps that took up around gigs of space so I decided to compress all that and upload to youtube not after space Free files deleting does disk increase the amount of space the videos are taking up are now down to but my free disk space hasn't increased in fact it's decreasing as if I never deleted the videos it isn't decreasing on it's own only if I make files so basically it'll take up space and it just stays that way for some reason I've looked around the internet for a solution I have tried Disabling automatic backup that didn't do anything Scanned my computer with malwarebytes to make sure it isn't some worm nothing found Used disk cleanup cleared up MB but the free space still didn't change Used CCleaner cleared up MB but the free space still didn't change Used disk check nothing bad was found Used WinDirStat everything seems fine as it should be but theres gigs of lt unknown Free disk space does not increase after deleting files gt and I have no freaking clue what it is Used SpaceSniffer found absolutely nothing that would take up that much space I would use defraggler but it will take WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long so I'd use it when I have no other option there's gotta be another way other than literally waiting over a day for defraggler to finish and chances are that it wouldn't change anything as well meaning I would have wasted a bunch of time if defraggler doesn't help I'll just reformat the whole thing Any suggestions Additional information Specs GB HDD GB RAM Windows Home Premium bit

A:Free disk space does not increase after deleting files

Welcome to the Seven Forums Jack101.

I suggest that instead of using Defraggler you use Puran Defrag and carry out a boot-time defrag.

Now about free disk space. Sometimes the correct free disk space shows up after a reboot. However from your message it would appear that you have already tried that but without success. Another way to find out how much free space exists is to open the Command Prompt and use the "dir/p" command. Please try that and check if the free space shown is identical with what you see with your method and report back with the command prompt screen shot after dir/p has been executed.

Good luck.

I decided to move all of my data files under a primary folder to make backing up my personal data files easier. I did a check before and after of my free space and surprisingly, my free disk space has more than doubled after doing this (and I did not delete any files, nor did I empty my Trash after moving the files).

This happened on the primary disk AND a backup drive I have at the house. The first time I did it I thought I was losing it, but after taking before and after snapshots again with my backup drive, I'm convinced I'm not

Is there any explanation as to why Win7 is reporting more than double the free disk space when all I've done is moved all of my personal data files under a main folder???? It just makes no sense.

Thanks,

Andy

A:Seeing over double free disk space after moving files around...

Hmmm.......

Does the amount of free space you NOW see at least roughly correspond to what you'd expect to see?

Do other hard drive tools also report much more free space?

Do you seem to be missing anything? All apps work and all personal files appear to be there and OK?

Offhand--maybe you had 2 instances of each file and now have only 1?

Do you or did you keep this data somewhere under C:\users?

Libraries are foreign to me and for that reason I don't use them, but they may have caused you some confusion.

I keep my data OUTSIDE of C:\users on D, with no connection to the library.

Hi I am working on creating space on a laptop It has a GB HD Out of this apparently almost GB is taken up by system backup restore partition I think So the total disk appears as a GB disk I started to backup files using the Toshiba Disk Creator but frequently got errors saying it could not continue writing to the DVD because it may have scratches or something to that effect This happened several times After this when I was actually successful in writing to another DVD I deleted the folders on the disk that I had backed up to the DVD increase Free does deleting after not disk files space Thus I was expecting the free space to go up But it didn't I tried using ccleaner Free disk space does not increase after deleting files and I also tried rebooting thinking that after reboot I will see more free space But it didn't Eventually I started using another disk burning program ImgBurn since I was fed up with the Toshiba Disk Creator and then I noticed that suddenly by free disk space went up from GB to GB So I thought the problem might have been that Toshiba Disk Creator was creating some kind of cache for storing temp files but when I looked in AppData I did not see any large files or even a large number of files from my previous unsuccessful attempts at writing to DVDs Since the free disk space went up I was happy and I continued using ImgBurn with better results But after I deleted the folders that I had backed up I again noticed that sometimes I am not seeing the free disk space go up I would appreciate any pointers as to what I should look for or do Toshiba Satellite L - GB RAM GB HD Windows Vista Home Premium with SP Intel Core Duo T GHz Please let me know if you need any other information Thank you

Two questions:
(1) How are you performing the deletions?
(2) How do check how much free disk space you have?

I recently used File Shredder to shred a bunch of my files thinking it would free up the disk space like deleting it would have; except it didn't. Is there a way to free up the disk space after shredding the files? What kind of program should I be looking for? I've used WinUtilities to clean up some duplicates and registry files without doing too much damage.

I'm running windows vista (64-bit) with and original 220 GB hard drive, now down to 47.7 GB because I can't figure out how to free it up.

A:Deleting shredded files to free up disk space

You can try CCleaner to delete temporary files.

If you're confused what's using up all the space on the disk, try one of the following disk analyzing utilities:
1) RidNacs
2) WinDirStat

Hope it works for you.

chkdsk /f will usually fix free space issues.

Open an elevated command prompt, type in

chkdsk /f C:

I want to search my hardrive manually for non needed files. Files from spam, web, cookies, ect.. I know from installing and uninstalling programs and surfing the web the computer gathers non needed files. I do not run outlook on this machine so I am not downloading email. And all my digital pictures are on a seperate drive. I have a 60GB hardrive with WIN XP SP3 and 24 gb music on it. With WIN XP using 5 GB this = 29GB used with estimated 31GB free. I have a funny feeling there is just a bunch of files eating up space. I wanted to give this a try before re-installing windows completly for education purposes.
I want to start a C:\
What directories/folders hold non needed files?
What file extentions can I search for?

Any threads with more information?
All suggestions and directions welcome.

A:Hardrive Full: Help Trying to find un-needed files to free up space

Hello rentonhighlands

1. Try disabling Hibernation and you will gain disk space equal to the amount of RAM on your system.
Control Panel / Performance and Maintenance / Power Options / Hibernate tab, and uncheck the Enable hibernation box

If it is enabled you will see that XP has reserved disk space equal to your RAM for hibernation

You can re-enable hibernation easily by checking the box again as XP recreates the hiberfil.sys file.

?Hiberfil.sys? is the size of your RAM since XP dumps the whole memory to this file before putting the system into hibernation

2. Reduce space used by System Restore
To adjust the amount of space System Restore uses on a disk, go to the Control Panel ('Start > Control Panel') and double click the 'System' icon. Then click on the 'System Restore' tab on the system applet. Depending on your disk setup use the following instructions:

? If you have just a single partition on your system: You can adjust the space system restore uses on the disk by moving the slider on this page left (to decrease space usage) or right (to increase space usage. The maximum space usage is 12% and is the default.

? If you have a multiple partitions on your system or multiple disks: Click on the drive you want to adjust in the available drives section on the System Restore page and then click the settings option. You can then adjust the space system restore uses on that drive by moving the slider to the left (to decrease space usage) or right (to increase space usage). The maximum space usage is 12% and is the default. Repeat for each drive as necessary.
You can reduce this by half and still have enough Restore Points. If is up to you how many you need to keep

If possible turn off System Restore on all but the partition where the OS is installed

3. Run CCleaner and get it to remove all temporary files

Just my opinion: Since this is a company system...it seems (to me) that this is a matter for the company's IT personnel...not one for individual suggestions by an unknowing audience.

Especially so since an enterprise network may be involved.

Hi, for months my C: (120 SSD) had only 2GB left of free space. So I finally purchased a 250GB SSD to replace it with. I received the drive last week and the box has been sitting on my desk. This morning I noticed that all of a sudden my C: drive is no longer in the red... I now have 30GB of free space. How can this be? I didnt uninstall any programs! All that occured on my PC is a windows update the other night...

Possible explanations?

A:Why did I suddenly go from 2GB free space to 30GB free space??

There is the system maintenance troubleshooter that runs at 1am.
Issues it looks for:
-Troubleshooting history is taking up disk space
-Broken shortcuts
-System time is set incorrectly
-There are icons on the desktop that haven't been used in 3 months.
-Disk volume errors
-Error reports are taking up disk space

Could be disk cleanup, you could also try running that as well. It now has the new mode windows update cleanup which removed older updates that have been unnecessary as new ones replaced it. That will save you even more space.

Maybe a program updated as well.

With all these combinations it can be possible you received a good chunk of free space. However, since you stated you have not run disk cleanup or have done anything, windows might have went nutz and has been wrong about your disk usage and just now got it right.(I am thinking this is the case.)

Or you have not restarted in awhile, and this is when disk information is updated.

How do I put the hard drive space used and free space on the Partition C: ? Partition D:\ and Partition E:\ has it but for some reason drive C:\ is missing it doesn't say how much space is used and how much space is free. The GBs are missing

A:How to bring back the amount of free space and used space on a hard drive

I'm a little confused about your question

You can't see how much drive space you have left when viewing your C drive via My Computer, or similar?

If you right-click on My Computer and select Manage, when the new window pops up click on Disk Management from the left hand side. What does that tell you about C drive? Assuming your C drive is actually a hard drive (and not a CD drive or something, though I have never heard of this happening and don't even know if it's possible to have C as your CD drive), you should see details at the top of the screen such as how much space you have left, by percentage of total capacity, as well as GB

Am I the only one to notice and complain over this in W8.1.

This morning a new Adobe Flash update has appeared, KB3079777. The update is sized at 17.9mb. Nothing is running on the PC, its idle and with no disk activity. Free space is 55.4GB. I apply the update and free space immediately falls to 54.9gb. This behaviour is consistent with every such patch applied. Now over time, that space will return which suggests that something else is going on here. But what ?

A:Free disk space & space used by a single Flash Update.

A:I delete files and "free space" doesn't change

You could check System Restore to see if it is saving copies of the videos or is it possible that some other program is saving backup copies of all your files.

System Restore,by the way is set by default to use 12% of your harddrive for restore points.

Free some space on this drive last one Now this thing has a gig drive but it disk space is full. Free some space on this drive is also used for security in a mini mart with cameras There are about Gigs of video from the security cameras on this box At this time I am just setting it up no cameras are connected and the security program hasn t disk space is full. Free some space on this drive been set up yet I just moved the files from the old drive to this one BTW the old drive crashed I ve tried the detect and repair in MS Word and no help I have uninstalled MS Office and reinstalled and no help and even went into Properties and set the user up on quota with no limits and still no help So now I am at a loss and have no idea what to try next Really don t want to delete the security files because it took hours to transfer them to this computer and unless all else fails this isn t a option I want to use Now on the old box which had XP Pro this was not a problem so on Vista it should not be either but then Vista is a MS Software so this is understandable Actually the old box had a gig hard drive so I think it actually has something to do with the O S VISTA but after fooling with this for two days that could just be me Now not sure if I posted in the correct forum if not please move to the correct forum nbsp

Hi

We just placed a new Dell Dimension. It has a 40 Gig hard drive.

User keeps getting this message:

DISK FREE SPACE HAS DROPPED BELOW THE MINIMUM THRESHOLD. FREE UP SPACE ON YOUR HARD DISK DRIVE BY:

1. BACKING UP YOUR DATA TO A TAPE BACKUP, ZIP OR NETWORK DRIVE
2. DELETE UNUSED FILES

IF YOU ARE UNSURE WHICH FILES ARE SAFE TO MOVE OR DELETE, CONTACT YOUR HELP DESK OR CONSULT YOUR SOFTWARE MANUALS.

This machine has over 30 gigs of free space. It's impossible that there is a disk space issue.

Any ideas what could be causing this? Some sort of mis-communication or setting?

Thanks

A:Disk Space Error - 30 Gigs free space

It should be a configuration setting. I'd call Dell if you just got this machine. Their "english" is a little suspect though. It sounds like some hokey Dell software reminding you to back up your drive. When does the message appear? After it boots?

Hi, I've noticed sometimes that the Free Space on my harddrives won't reflect changes I've made. For example, on my 28.6gb F: drive, I had about 586mb free. I just deleted a video file of about 700 mb, so it should be up to about 1.2 gb. Oddly enough, its still at 586mb. I emptied the recycle bin of course.

Is there a way to recalculate disc space? I have Windows XP and I do have Norton System Works. This isn't the first time disc space hasn't matched recent actions. Thanks in advance.

A:Free Space inaccuracies?? Calculating disc space?

If the video wasn't in My Docs then 'System Restore' in XP may have recorded the change to enable a future restore. To record a 700mb deletion that it may be asked to restore back takes 700mb.
System restore ignores the My Docs folder so the above is irrelevant if the video was deleted from that location.

Well now, when I go to reinstall, it will not automatically start so I clicked on my computer and dvd-rw Drive (E and there are no files, in fact it states that my my file system is CDFS and the CDA Default - Full ___ It says all space used 672 MB and Free Space 0 Bytes

A:Need Help With Reformating And Zeroing Harddrive (xp)

If you do a quick format from the XP disk it just makes all files *.old and to be over written.

A full format will do a surface scan and fully format the drive.

If you are worried about someone discovering your "old" files that once were: A big magnet may be your answer.

(Note: I wouldnt try the magnet though as it will surely make the Hard Drive go ka-put permanetly)

Through the grape vine: multple full formats may make old data non-recoverable

PS... if its just some old programs, then a quick format will do you just fine

I don't understand why sectors that cannot be read are left there by the disk firmware instead of copying its data (even though it's bad, there're EEC code mismatches or whatever) to a spare sector and them mapping out the bad sector. Anyone can explain why?

I guess zeroing a disk (with disk utility in macs for example) maps out bad sectors doesn't it?

A:Zeroing a disk maps out bad sectors?

A bad sector (by definition) can't be written / reread reliably, so there's no point attempting to zero it. Instead, it is marked as a bad sector, put on the bad list, and another is mapped into the file that experienced the issue.

I guess zeroing a disk maps out bad sectors doesn't it?Click to expand...

bad sectors stay as bad sectors. Fresh from the factory, your HD can have them - - a new disk is not required to be flawless.

The low-level format will update bad sectors, but not recover any as good.

The CHKDSK c: /F /R will examine fix and 'remap' bad sectors

I am searching for recommanded free open source software, that handles open pgp encryption.
I do not know what to call the software, so instead I will describe it.

I am looking for software, that can make open pgp keys, import public keys, and encrypt and decrypt open pgp encrypted files. Not as part of an email client, like thunderbird and enigmail.
If you fx have received an open pgp encrypted file, encrypted using your own public key, you
should be able to decrypt the file.
Same way, you should be able to open pgp encrypt a file on your computer, using an imported public
key, and then send the file.
Like axcrypt, but using open pgp keys.

Thanks.

Hi there

Why can't people be more honest on their websites -- as well as making it harder and harder to find REAL downloads without confusing extra offers / links to other programs with the real link buried deep down in an easy to miss website - I really hate the following that seems to be commonplace now -- FREE DOWNLOAD which implies FREE -- but the SOFTWARE most certainly Isn't but totally no mention of BUY / PAY on the site.

We should BOYCOTT those sites and make our feelings known --nothing wrong about people wanting to make a few bucks - especially these days with good jobs getting harder to find -but we can still be OPEN.

Cheers

Did you do the maintenance in Safe Mode and restarted the computer normally?

Well, basically, I'm using a Dell Dimension 4550 on Windows XP Home(Yeah, I know, old as hell) and I'm a huge computer n00b. Someone told me that I should get a new Hard Disk Drive? I've been searching forums, but I don't know what hard drive I should get and if it's compatible with my computer or not. Help would be extremely appreciated, since I literally have less than 500MB left out of 74.4GB.

Thanks in advanced!

A:Low on Free Space!

More info! Basically all that's needed is either the Dell model number, or the motherboard model(doubted since dell is known for non standard boards).

Or, if you know, does it support SATA drives or strictly IDE?

Regardless; Seagate is an extremely good brand to buy HDD's from, Maxtor is one I'd stay away from.

Hi,

I have a 60gb OCZ ssd, so space is at a premium. I did disable hibernation for starters which helped.

If I go to Windows Explorer & right click on my drive, it says I am using 42.3GB with 17.1GB free. If I go into my C drive & select all & then right click & goto properties, it says I am using 32.8 GB & that is also the size on the disk.

Where is my missing 10 GB?

Thanks,
Rich

Move your virtual memory to the other partition – and set it to something rational based on your RAM. The more RAM you have the less VM you need – not the other way round. XP will warn that you will lose debug capability – at least XP Pro does. No biggie IMO.

Consider reducing or eliminating your system restore space. If you have a burner you can ghost the boot drive which is a lot better than the XP restore.

My motherboard requires SP1 to give me USB2, so I just dumped the uninstall files. I don’t know why they were there at all – I thought I elected to not make them when I installed the Windows updates. It doesn’t seem to have done any harm.

Fred langa has some XP cleanup batch files you might like: www.langa.com

Deleting individual files from a CD-RW does not seem to increase the amount of available disk space. So if a CD-RW is (almost) full, I can’t just delete a few files and replace them by others in Nero. I get a “disk full” error message and I always need to erase the entire disk first. Is this normal?

Thanks

I'm looking to free up space on my hard drive. Is it OK to uninstall old .NET versions, old java versions, and old windows updates? The old versions occupy tremendous space on my computer and if they can be safely removed I'll love to remove them. Is it safe to remove old versions of .NET framework, java consoles, and windows updates?

Hi all I have a recent clean install of Windows Pro I have an SSD I got it a few years ago still pretty pricey at the time It's not quot huge quot as far as storage space goes GB so I like to keep things as lean as possible on it I have a separate HDD with TB Free Up Win 10/ Space of storage inside of my tower case So on the SSD as far as the quot C quot drive goes I have the OS and only the necessary program files Now Win 10/ Free Up Space the storage space issue I know if you disable quot Hibernation quot CMD prompt Right Win 10/ Free Up Space click Run as Admin type the following in powercfg exe Win 10/ Free Up Space hibernate off Press Enter and reboot your computer that that can free up some space Let me check this with you and tell me if this sounds feasible In Windows if you go to Control Panel System System Protection then highlight Local Disk C System it's usually by Default quot On quot If I click on the Configure button mine says that GB is being used for the Current Usage Under the heading of quot Restore Settings quot there are two radio buttons quot Turn On System Protection quot quot Disable System Protection quot by Default it's quot On quot This is all just basically for System Restore correct Like if something went freaky you can just restore your system to a previous point in the past correct If I chose the radio button of quot Disable System Protection quot would that give me back that GB I mentioned above I also have an external NAS which is constantly backing up my computer If something freaky ever happened and I needed to install Windows again from scratch all my important files folders are being backed up anyway I also noticed after pressing that Configure button that it has a section where it has a slider control and on mine it shows GB And there's also a Delete button here which says quot Delete all restore points for this drive quot So what say you quot Disable System Protection quot Would this free up some space for me And like I said I have a NAS doing constant backup for me anyway Or adjust that slider to even less than And click that Delete button to clear out any recently created restore points Would this free up space Thanks for any info Pez
