Regular BSOD's, caused by ntoskrnl.exe?

Q: Regular BSOD's, caused by ntoskrnl.exe?

Hello, I have installed Windows 7 Home premium x64 on a system I built myself, and keep getting regular bluescreens. When I looked at the dumps with Bluescreenview, it always has ntoskrnl.exe highlighted in red. Help please?

Relevancy 100%
Preferred Solution: Regular BSOD's, caused by ntoskrnl.exe?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

My computer reformatted itself about a month or so ago and I had to reinstall windows a couple of times. I initially installed a cracked version of windows but moved to a legitimate copy as soon as I figured out that I could. Considering my laptop is custom, all of the drivers had to me installed individually. However, when I found my reinstallation and driver discs that came with my computer, I reinstalled everything a third time. All three times, there have been BSODs.

Hello ForgedSalvation, I'll try to help with your problem. I have looked at the lase several dump files and a little unsure, so I am going to ask you to do something for me. First
Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs
Your dump files seem to indicate that you may have more than one problem. The one that concerns me the most is the last one.

Code:
Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

If that is your problem then all the other dump files are not valid, most likely. If memory is the problem, almost anything and everything will be blamed, even though they are not at fault.
Please Run Memtest86+

   Information
Please download from this site only http://www.memtest.org/ in the middle of the page are the Download links, you can download the ISO.zip or the Auto USB Flash Drive installer.zip

Extract the Zip file. If you chose the ISO image, burn it to a CD using Windows Disk Image Burner or any Image burner you may have. If you downloaded the Auto USB installer, extract it, insert your USB 2.0 Flash Drive and take note of the drive letter. Run the installer, select the Flash Drive Letter, check the format box and press next. It will install memtest86+ to a flash drive. You can use either V4.20 or V5.01. Boot from your selected media. If you use V5.01 it will tell you to press certain buttons at the start, please press no buttons. The test will begin on it's own and continue to run until you stop it. It needs to run for 8 complete passes or until you receive an error. If you receive an error, stop the test. Even 1 error is a fail. Each pass tests a different part of the ram and each of the 10 tests in each pass tests something different. It takes a minimum of 8 passes to completely test the ram, more passes are better. It is quite a long test and will take several hours depending on how much ram you have. Due to the time length it is best to run overnight. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask..

When I use my computer normally (as in, just browsing the internet), my computer will often lock up, then restart. I did not think it was a BSOD at first, but occasionally I would actually get the bluescreen, and crash dump files were created.

A strange thing about this BSOD is that I never get it while playing games. The sole exception is the game Path of Exile, but since no dump file is created after a Path of Exile crash, it is probably a separate problem. This problem only occurs while I am doing something mundane that does not use my processor power/memory, apparently.

Here's my Diagnostic .zip. Hopefully one of you guys can enlighten me on what the problem is.

I was running the Steam product Vindictus, which i have had no problems with in the past, when i recieved a BSOD. Checking the dump file, i saw the cause was ntoskrnl.exe. Over the next 4 hours, my computer restarted itself while i attempted to rectify the issue, with no BSOD. I have now updated every driver on my rig, and still receive the same restart, at various intervals when playing Vindictus.I have since ceased to play, and have ran a chkdisk, registry cleanup and full virus scan/virus update with no fix.

This is not the first time I've had a bsod. But this computer is the only computer where i have gotten 'ntoskrnl.exe' as a cause. Which from reading online is i guess some sort of default when no certain cause can be found without being found manually. Which is what i do not know what to do. I really hope someone can help me out here.

when my pc crashed i was waiting in character select of GW2, i was on that screen for about 10 mins or so. this is the first time I have even gotten a bsod during any time of game play, the game did just update upon start up.

the only software i have recently installed is mcafee. my most recent updates would be toshiba qosmio bios update, gw2, and mcafee update.

Hello There
Since a while my computer gets Blue Screens this tends to happen only once a day, around 10 minutes after i turn the computer on usually when i play battlefield 3 or View news in Firefox ( Graphic related i think ) so this error happens only once and after i restart, it doesn't happens again

I have tested memory yesterday with a Linux men test but there are no errors
BIOS is set to standard and updated as well
Graphic Drivers are Updated

I have no other ideas what it could be

Here are the dump log files, if something else needs to be provided please let me know

Hello Logo, welcome to 7F. There's only one dump in your log but it shows a couple of issues. The first one is ESET.

My recommendation here would be to uninstall ESET using the tool linked below.
Then install MS Security Essentials and MalwareBytes.

   Note
Make sure you uncheck the 'Enable Free Trial' box when installing MalwareBytes.

Your Realtek Ethernet driver is also causing issues. It' very old and needs updating, check here for an updated version.

I built my system about 6 months ago and only recently I have been getting BSOD at random times. I ran memtest which detected no errors. There are some days where I can use my PC all day with no BSOD. The temperatures seem fine as well. I have GPU overclocking software installed, but I have never used them.

EDIT: I was playing an MMO called Blade and Soul at the time of the crashes. I ran sfc /scannow and there were no integrity violations

Please let me know if you need more information.

BSODs happening at different intervals. All of them except one have said ntoskrnl.exe was the cause and at the same address. I've checked my memory with memtest for 9+ passes, ran the scannow with no violations, and updated firmware on the SSD that Windows 7 is installed on. The BSODs continue to happen.

Any ideas? Thanks for your time.

Which means basically a driver has corrupted other drivers or system files. If you look at it as a whole, you have Norton internet security and Norton network security mentioned in 2 of the dumps, with maybe one exception the other errors are all network drivers, athrx.sys, Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC and the Atheros Bluetooth Driver. The other issue is the pool corruption which could be the cause of all of these. It appears that the main problem lies with the Network/LAN drivers. Those, I believe are controlled by Norton network security.

If you would like to know, ntoskrnl.exe is the Windows Kernel and will not cause a BSOD unless it has been tampered with or corrupted by some other process.

I would suggest that you uninstall Norton, if you can and use the Norton removal tool (https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/...rProfile_en_us)

Also, please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. I have the 300MBPS Wireless 802.11n PCI Adapter manufactured by Edimax Tech. It is currently disconnected because it was giving me trouble. My RAM and HD are perfectly fine after testing it. I have the SF file and it will be attached. Thank you for your assistance in advance. If there is any more information that I can provide please let me know. Thank you!

Hello darkelite. SPTD is present there in your system and causing some issues.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Alcohol 120% at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Uninstall AVG. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.
Some other very important things are not properly loaded, but those may be caused by eithor or both of the aforesaid things. In the presence of those two, all the mishaps may happen. So let us know the situation after omitting those as suggested. Will decide our further steps depending on the further situation.

I can not put my computer into sleep or hibernate. If I do, I get a BSOD. I reinstalled and installed the nvidia driver, tested it, and was able to sleep/hibernate. Then I updated and get a BSOD. I'm pretty sure it is a Windows update error. I did google searches and really didn't find anything that matched my problem entirely. Thanks for the help.

HI

I bough this Acer V3-571G-9435 laptop on Aug 20, 2012 and replaced the original HDD with OCZ vertex 3 240GB SSD before I star it up. I installed Win7 Home Premium 64 bit version.

Here is the hardware information of the laptop:
CPU: intel i7-3610QM
Memory: Kingston DDR3-1333 2GB & A-Data DDR3-1333 4GB
Graphic card: nVidia GT640M
SDD: OCZ vertex 3 240GB
HDD: Seagate ST9500325AS 500GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA

I have experienced BSOD three times caused by DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE related with ntoskrnl.exe.

The first BSOD on Aug 24 was probably related with a heavy CPU usage of a crsytallographic computation. I realized one of the eight threads was 100% used for a couple minutes before the crash.

I replaced optical drive with the original HDD on Aug 25 and updated the bios.
Two BSOD happened today and I wonder if they are related with drivers and how to fix them.

Thank you.

Luke

Hey guys;

I searched these forums for other posts; and generally people just suggested repairing windows.

When i try an repair my windows 7 (Ultimate 64bit) it tells me it cannot upgrade my system to 32bit, and yes i have been clicking x64 when i choose my system type.

Ill dump the Bluescreen viewer reports here as well as the report/.

Thanks for the help guys.

Hey guys, as the title says I've been getting BSOD about everyday now. I've tried troubleshooting on my own, but that hasn't worked. BCCode associated with them is either d1 or 9f (not sure if this helps).

I've attached the SF log.

I've run memtest86+ and haven't gotten a failure yet. I keep my laptop virus free. I believe my drivers are up to date.

Setup:
-HP dv6t-3100
-intel i5
-575 HDD
-6 RAM
-ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 & Intel HD Graphics

Any help would be great. I will be going to sleep soon (go to work early) but I will be on all day tomorrow.

Thanks!

Hi, Luis, and welcome to the forum. Sorry you are having problems. As you noticed, the dump blames ntkrnlmp.exe. It is not likely the real cause as it is a Windows core system driver. More than likely it was affected by something else.

Hi guys I just got a BSOD from what looks like ntoskrnl.exe. I have been taking computer repair classes at my high-school because I love fixing computer but I have never seen this before and after some time spent researching I was wondering if this is a serious problem with my laptop. My laptop specs are; My computer is still less then a one years old.

NEOFLTR_700_18809.SYS is causing the problem. I couldn't find a reference for it so it may be part of your McAfee AV system. Some AV programs are known to cause a D1 Bug Check code. Someone more familiar with this file may be along shortly.

My 3 year old PC has started to have BSOD continually, and I cant sometimes even start up the computer because it gets a BSOD during start up. I downloaded this program "BlueScreenView" to see what causes the BSODs and in every .dmp file there is "Ntoskrnl.exe" as the cause of BSOD. I reinstalled windows but the bluescreens still come. I attached my .dmp files as instructed.

I keep getting BSODs when I play games for a short while At first I thought when BSOD says ntoskrnl.exe games. BSOD BlueScreenView caused playing it was a bad installation of Windows BSOD when playing games. BlueScreenView says ntoskrnl.exe caused BSOD so I did a clean format full of my SSD and a clean install of Windows Ultimate x Installation failed quite a few times before finally succeeding Tried another copy of Windows same install failures I finally finished reinstalling Windows on my PC I suspected the RAM to be at fault so I ran MemTest and found a ton of errors Upon closer inspection of the BIOS settings I found that my board was clocking my ram in Auto mode at mhz instead of the factory mhz Corsair Vengeance LP DDR CAS on Asus Sabertooth Z I updated my BIOS to the latest as of this posting and I still have to manually set the memory frequencies for it to run at mhz Everything seemed fine for a few hours running prime I supposed my PC was fine now after that clean install of Windows but a few minutes into playing Battlefield I BSOD I am no pro at reading dump files and I was hoping someone could help me isolate the sources of my BSODs I've attached the minidump files for each BSOD below Thanks

Hi guys,

First I'm running on :

? OS -Windows 7
? x64
? OEM version but purchased from retailer (weird I know)
? Age of system : 1.5 year
? Age of OS installation 1.5 years
? CPU : Core Quad Q8400 2.66 GHz
? Video Card : Ati Radeon hd 4870 1 Gb
? MotherBoard : Asus P5qd
? Power Supply : Corsair 550 Watts
RAM : Corsair 4gb XMS 2 (2x2Gb) 800 Mhz DDR2

Since I built my computer, i get once a day a Bsod often caused by ntoskrnl.exe. I tried everything : changing DRAM voltage, updating video/bios/everything drivers.
My DRAM is not guilty, I'm sure of it.

Can you help me ? I'm desperate...

Thanks in advance guys.
PS : impossible to get the perfmon /report (the report is not generated, googleing). I am checking the hard drive.

A:The well known Windows 7 Bsod caused by ntoskrnl.exe !

Hello,

The dumps point to an apparent hardware issue; however, I wonder if SPTD is causing that.

Uninstall Daemon Tools, and then remove SPTD with this tool: http://www.duplexsecure.com/download...t-v174-x64.exe

Also, run Prime95 - both the Blend and Small FFTs tests.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html

Finally, enable driver verifier, if the BSODs persist.

...Summary of the dumps:

Hey everyone, after checking these forums for some time now, I decided to finally post my problems and get some help.

I got my pc about 2 weeks ago, and ever since I got it, almost always there is a BSOD on boot, but after that I am able to use it just fine.. it has just gotten sort of frustrating. I even did a system reset, but that did not work at all.

I would gladly appreciate it if somebody could help me out, and if I forgot to include anything else, please tell me

A:I always get a BSOD on boot, caused by ntoskrnl.exe

0x0000000A error is IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I saw that you had multiple dump files; I checked the more recent ones. You must check that your computer is compatible with Windows.

I would advise you to run sfc /scannow; I don't really know much about BSODs, but that command is very helpful for problems related to software.

Well, I think that software is the problem here; try the command I gave you and see what will happen. Most likely you have a faulty device driver, system service, or BIOS. If this is the case, press F8 while Windows is booting. This will show you the Advanced Boot Options menu. Select "Last Known Good Configuration".

In case you have an incompatible device driver, system service, virus scanner, or backup tool, run the system diagnostics of your computer manufacturer (especially the memory one). For details on these procedures, see the owner's manual for your computer. If your system has small computer system interface (SCSI) adapters, contact the adapter manufacturer to obtain updated Windows drivers. Try disabling sync negotiation in the SCSI BIOS, checking the cabling and the SCSI IDs of each device, and confirming proper termination. For integrated device electronics (IDE) devices, define the onboard IDE port as Primary only. Also, check each IDE device for the proper master/subordinate/stand-alone setting. Try removing all IDE devices except for hard disks.

If your computer is fine, let us know. If it is not, we will try to give you as much help as we can.

These solutions are for 0x0000000A BSODs.

A:[SOLVED] BSOD caused by ntoskrnl.exe

Hi -

ntoskrnl.exe = the Windows NT Kernel & Executive. It a default listed when no other probable cause of a BSOD can be found.

The bugcheck on both BSODs were the same -

0x1e (0xc0000005,,,) = kernel threw an exception - 0xc0000005 = memory access violation

These 2 drivers are a problem - sptd.sys is known to cause BSODs in Windows 7 & Vista; the second is way too old for Windows 7 RTM -

Code:
sptd.sys Sun Oct 11 16:55:14 2009 (4AD24632) - Daemon/ Alcohol

RTCore64.sys Wed May 25 02:39:12 2005 (42941D90) - Riva Tuner
Remove Daemon Tools/ Alcohol 120.

Remove Riva Tuner.

If BSODs persist, run the Driver Verifier -- http://jcgriff2.com/driver_verifier.htm

Another one of these. I have checked through the forums and can't find a solution. Usually I'm fine with BSOD and can solve but this has stumped me a bit.

Could someone a little more experienced take a look and see what could possibly be the problem?

I've attached Perfmon report and Minidumps.

A:BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL caused by ntoskrnl.exe

Welcome to TSF,

ssp.exe is more than likely the faulting application i believe its apart of SpyStopper Pro?
Either make sure its up-to-date or remove it for testing purposes.
But i also noticed that the module thats required for the SpyStopper to function was unloaded at the time of the crash.

I've tried using Bluescreenview to try and solve this issue on my own but haven't been able to. I've had a BSOD from this driver about 6 times in the past month. Sometimes while playing games or just browsing the internet. I hope I have provided all the information, if not please let me know. 022114 is the most recent BSOD dmp file.

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Quote:
The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.*Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot.*If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
*If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot.*If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
*If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.
4. If you find a stick that passes the test, test it in all the other motherboard slots.

If Part 2 testing shows errors, and all tests in Part 3 show errors, you will need to test the RAM sticks in another computer and/or test other RAM in your computer to identify the problem.

In this way, you can identify whether it is a bad stick of RAM, a bad motherboard, or incompatibility between the sticks.

   Information
Errors are sometimes found after 8 passes.

   Tip
Do this test overnight, before going to bed.

More instructions on the way..

Hi.
This suddenly became an issue and I'll get a reboot at least once a day, often more. Any ideas? Nothing in particular seems to trigger it (that I can tell).

Thanks in advance...

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

This driver, Driver Reference Table - stdcfltn.sys, is causing the crashes.
You'll need to check Dell or Windows Updates for possible driver updates, I cannot find any nor what it exactly relates to.

A:BSOD caused by ntoskrnl.exe ( nt+70740 ) ?

Did you install/update something on your computer before it started BSODing this time?

Update your drivers on your computer.

If neither of those are the cause, then it's probably your hardware. First guess is always RAM, and RAM is always the easiest to check. (One of your RAM sticks might have gone bad; It happens now and then to everyone)

How-To test RAM to see if it's the cause of BDOSs (Blue Screen Of Death):

0. (Something you should always do before opening your computer no matter if it's a desktop
or a laptop): Unplug electricity, take out the battery (laptop), and hold the power button
for 5- 10 seconds to drain it for all power.

1. Open your computer up, to get to the RAM stick(S).
(If you've got a laptop, you ought to download the usermanual for your laptop from your
laptop's manufacturer's website to see where the RAM sockets are located.)

2. Take all except 1 stick out of their socket, make sure to have that 1 that's left in the
first RAM socket.

3. Run untill the computer crashes, and/or run memtest86+ (http://www.memtest.org/#downiso).

4. Repeat step 2-3 with every RAM stick.

Tips:
When buying RAMs, buy them in pairs of 2 or more, that way they're matching eachother,
and will have the best effect.
Buy good quality RAMs when purchasing. We recommend Corsair, Crucial, or OCZ.

BugCheck 3B, {c0000005, fffff80002ad9e57, fffff880076dea10, 0}

Code:

memory_corruption doesn't necessary mean that a RAM module is faulty, it can also point to a object which corrupted the RAM at the time of the crash, for instance a corrupted driver or program. Paging files and the CPU caches can also be causes.

Follow these steps -

Test for any corrupted drivers, by running Driver Verifier for least 24 hours, stop the test if a BSOD occurs before this time frame. Driver Verifier will place stress on the drivers within your system, which will cause corrupted drivers to crash and hopefully be pinpointed.Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
More Help and Information with Driver Verifier - Using Driver Verifier to identify issues with Drivers

Memory:RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Run Memtest86+ for least 7-8 passes, and preferably overnight as it can take a while to fully complete.

Test each RAM stick individually, if an error is found then move the same RAM stick into the next DIMM slot and test again, if errors are found for the same RAM stick in every available slot then you have a faulty RAM module. On the other hand, if no errors are found in the next slot or the other slots for the same RAM module, then you have a faulty DIMM slot.

Test each RAM stick and every motherboard DIMM slot available.

It could easily be that very poor psu. Can you tell us what the BSOD messages are? Never mind I missed the file attached.
I see mention of no Antivirus onboard for one and also messages that your video card is very poor for what you are doing and unless that is a wrong driver issue it makes no sense to me.

Hi All,

I have found multiple helpful answers on this forum regarding similar situations yet none that seems to apply to mine specifically.

Though I'm sure my dumps will be more helpful than I could ever be, here's what I noticed:

1. the installation of a new external drive (hp 2TB) seems to increase bsod occurences

2. there seems to be a problem with how my ram is getting used as I can always predict a crash when I go past 9 gig (out of 16).

3. I also read a post which suggested to remove Kaspersky. I'm not using it yet I do have BidDefender running.

I did run Windows Memory Diagnostics which didn't find any problems.
Thanks for your help as I've wasted 2 days with no results whatsoever on my own...

Seb.

Hi PadeLee.

I worked two times with your BSOD issues earlier.
During last October, it was ESTE that caused the BSOD.
During last December, It was MotionInJoy.
So the issues are always different, and not any continuation to each other. Unfortunately we cannot predict which software/driver will bug out and when.

Same this time. Now it is Microsoft LifeCam.

A:BSOD caused by ntoskrnl.exe ~30mins.

Hello Godrichman and welcome to TSF!

I looked at a bunch of attached dumps, and they were all *A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bugchecks. I went about 5-6 dumps, all pointed to memory corruption.. and then I get to one that gives a driver culprit, finally.

It's reporting that the probably caused by fault is mfehidk.sys, which is the
McAfee Host Intrusion Detection Link Driver. Given the incredible consistency of the memory corruption and *A bugchecks, McAfee is likely causing the issue.

If possible, which it should be, boot into Safe Mode and fully uninstall McAfee from your system from troubleshooting purposes. Rather than the traditional method of uninstallation via Control Panel, use the following tool:

http://download.mcafee.com/products/...tches/MCPR.exe

After you've removed it, restart and try booting into Windows again.

I hope someone can assist in deciphering this crash dmp file. I used a bluescreen view which tells me the cause was the ntoskrnl.exe. I have two items of hardware that i have added since last week, a Dispaly port To DVI cable for the monitor and an external hard drive to the USB 3.0 port.

Thank you in advance

After I changed hard drive to Kingston SSD and reinstalled Windows 7 x64 with all new updates I start having BSOD every several days randomly, one time even during sleep mode, wake up was fine, but without previously loaded programs and one time on wake up.
All drivers are the same as it was before, when everything was stable. SSD doesn't require any drivers according on their website.
I uninstall some Windows security updates, which I read can cause BSOD, but it doesn't help. BlueScreenView is showing, that the reason is ntoskrnl.exe, but it is Windows file, so not clear where to search the reason.

Any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

You are running an Acer Product ID (PID) on an ASUS board.
This makes your installation counterfeit.
Troubleshooting a counterfeit installation is useless as it is not known what has been modified to your system.
A counterfeit installation contains heavily modified code which causes the system to behave in unexpected ways.
For this reason, analyzing counterfeit systems is unreliable and most analysts won't try it.

Code:
OS Configuration: Standalone Workstation
OS Build Type: Multiprocessor Free

Original Install Date: 10/10/2015, 9:05:23 PM
System Boot Time: 12/18/2015, 12:58:25 PM
I recommend to install a genuine copy of Windows.
If, after you have installed a genuine copy of Windows, you still get BSOD's we'll be happy to assist you.

This is a little over a week old computer and I've had nine BSODs since I got it. Using BlueScreenView tells me that ntoskrnl.exe is the cause. I have no idea what the means... BCCode f9. I'm wondering if it has something to do with my mouse since sometimes after the crash my mouse won't work. But there have been days I've used my mouse for hours and never had a problem... Hopefully I ran the diagnostic tool correctly and someone here can tell me what the problem is.

Oh, and I also completely uninstalled and then reinstalled my video card driver last Wednesday after two BSODs. Had two back to back BSODs today, none in between.

My system:
Mythlogic Pollox 1413
nVIDIA GTX 765M
Intel Core i7-4700
8gb RAM (two 4GB sticks)
Windows 7 64bit

Hello! Recently my laptop has been constantly crashing due to ntoskrnl.exe. The actual error ranges from irql not less or equal, to page fault in non paged area.

I recently replaced the hardrive due to the last one breaking. Could this be a memory issue?

Let me know what other info is needed!
Thanks

Hi all,

I've been experiencing BSODs over the past few days, caused by both hpdskflt.sys and ntoskrnl.exe (according to BlueScreenView). Could somebody take a look at the attached dump files and offer and any advice on solving this?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Approximately a week ago BCCode caused by ntoskrnl.exe BSOD probably 50, I decided to overclock a bit my CPU I did everything according the manuals and the internet knowledge Sadly yesterday I had a persisting problem - when I was turning on the computer my monitor didn't wake up from standing by mode Fix for that was restart which was bringing everything BSOD BCCode 50, probably caused by ntoskrnl.exe back to normal BSOD BCCode 50, probably caused by ntoskrnl.exe Today I experienced major problem when was listening to music on iTunes Appeard BSOD Loading bios defaults didn't work It seems that something BSOD BCCode 50, probably caused by ntoskrnl.exe is corrupted Below I paste my crash dump file - - dmp - Speedy Share - upload your files here Also FYI temperatures were monitored and everything was alright - CPU - C in stress GPU C in stress Here are my specs Asus P K C D ghz vcore V OCZ Platinium Rev GB mhz - - - vcore V Seagate GB Chieftec GPS- A I will be really grateful for your support because it is the second time this year even though I changed my cpu

A:BSOD BCCode 50, probably caused by ntoskrnl.exe

The first step would be to reverse the changes on overclocking the CPU to Defaults.
The next thing would be to run Check Disk. go to Start/Search and type CMD, Right click the CMD results and Run As Administrator. In the Elevated Command Prompt type chkdsk /R and press enter. Now type a Y for Yes and restart the computer. Check Disk will start at next bootup and may take a while.

A:Windows 7 How to fix BSOD caused by ntoskrnl.exe

You need to reinstall a legal version of Windows.

You have an HP OEM on an eMachines computer,

Code:
Product ID: 00359-OEM-8992687-00010
Original Install Date: 8/4/2015, 2:53:53 PM
System Boot Time: 10/13/2015, 11:14:49 AM
System Manufacturer: eMachines
System Model: eM250
System Type: X86-based PC

Code:
OS Name: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
OS Version: 6.1.7600 N/A Build 7600
OS Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation
OS Configuration: Standalone Workstation
OS Build Type: Multiprocessor Free
No SP1 or updates installed either.

Who knows what this driver is,

Code:
BugCheck 7F, {d, 0, 0, 0}

*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for 8574.sys

Followup: MachineOwner
I can't find it anywhere, probably a result of the counterfeit install.

Hi, i'm receiving random BSOD's for a long time. I want to fix it but i don't know much about it, so sorry if it isn't the good information. According to BlueScreenView, it's mostly the ntoskrnl.exe, but there are also messages about AsrOcDrv.sys, nvlddmkm.exe and ntfs.exe. I just did wat the BSOD posting guide said so hopefully it's enough.

Hi Gabriel25569,

Welcome to the 10forums.
Please fill in your system specsPlease go to this site and download the tool. The tool will give you detailed information about your system specs, please fill in your system specs more completely. How to fill in your system specs:
Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPD pass through remover.

Uninstall Daemon ToolsDownload the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
Double click the executable to open itClick on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window
I took a quick look at 1 crash and it seems like your antivirus is causing trouble.
Please follow these instructions to remove Norton.

Various different BSODs are there, within a short time span. Which indicates to some sort of memory issue.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors. How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

Hi,

I have a friend who is using Windows XP Service Pack 3 is having a random BSOD error.

From the crash dump file, the report stated this error: Probably caused by : ntoskrnl.exe ( nt+cc548 ).

I do not know what have caused this issue and the system is recently formatted.

It is Dell Optiplex 755 PC with ATI Radeon HD2400 graphic card. Service Tag: FF55V1S

The link for the minidump file: Mini012511-01.dmp - Windows Live

Would appreciate any kind assistance.

Thank you very much.

While we look into this, the first thing I'd do is update all your drivers. Go to support.dell.com and type in your service tag, and it will give you a list of drivers for the hardware installed on your computer. A quick Google search of the problem has pointed to the graphics card in a few other cases, so I'd start with that one and see if that resolves the problem.

To update drivers, make sure to download the drivers from the manufacturer and not using 3rd party programs. Your drivers should be found from your motherboard support site (ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, etc.) or your vendor support site (Dell, HP, Toshiba, Sony, etc.) first. If you have devices you bought yourself, the drivers for those devices need to be downloaded from the manufacturer support site for those devices. If you need help, let us know.

To remove drivers, do so by uninstalling the device or software associated with the driver. Devices can be uninstalled through device manager, and then the device itself should be physically removed from the system if no driver updates are available for the device. If it does not make sense to remove the device, i.e. the device is a motherboard, please ask us for further assistance.Uninstall or change a program

Hi,

I built a new computer a few months ago and I have recently been getting random hangs/freezes on my computer where nothing responds and I have to turn power off/on again. I did a fresh install of windows to try and sort things out but now i've been getting random BSOD instead. There's no pattern to them and they could happen at any point.

BlueScreenView says from the dmp's that the driver causing it is ntoskrnl.exe which seems to have many possible hardware/driver causes.

I ran memtest for 13 hours and that came back with 0 errors so I don't think its my RAM.

If anyone could look at my dmps to try and give me more of a clue of whats causing this problem I would be very grateful

Hi everybody,

I have been experiencing some random BSOD with error 0x0000000a and 0x00000139 caused by driver ntoskrnl.exe. I have run my desktop for 1 year and seldom experienced such BSODs until this month. I have run memtest to 250% coverage and no errors are found. I also have run disk check, furmark, prime95 and still no errors. So I guess my problem should be the softwares. I've reinstalled the windows 8.1 enterprise 64bit and reinstalled all the drivers from msi official website (my motherboard is msi). The problem still persists. Does anyone can help me? Attached is my dump files after the reinstall.
Thank you very much for taking your time reading, I look forward to any comments or opinions.

I suspect this program as it's driver dates from 2008: CMBChina online bank USB token device driver
Please uninstall it.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

Hey guys First time poster long time lurker here The last couple of days I've been ravaged by BSODs I did a memtest and found out that I had a bad ram stick I replaced the ram stick and did a clean install of Windows Home Premium x and installed my drivers as well as Avast Antivirus I am still getting BSODs I did another memtest on my new ram together and individually and both sticks tested fine One of the by ntoskrnl.exe caused IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSOD dump files mentioned Avast as the issue After some trouble BSOD releating to Avast I was able to uninstall it in Safe Mode I then proceeded to install Panda Antivirus and had similar issues with it so I have since uninstalled that antivirus as well Right now I am using BSOD IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL caused by ntoskrnl.exe Windows Security Essentials until I can figure out what is causing my BSODs The BSODs seem to be happening randomly but can be triggered faster by me opening launching the quot World of Warcraft quot launcher I have my DM Logs attached to this forum Thanks in advance for any help that you can give
