No BSOD and no dump but random Windows freeze

Q: No BSOD and no dump but random Windows freeze

Hello,

I've been facing a very annoying behavior with my pc: it randomly hangs, no BSOD and no dump and I have to do a hard reboot.
The event viewer does not even log anything except an "unexpected stop".
I've been googling for hours and found some suggestions which I tried with no result.

I suspect it might be hardware related.

Still, I've been running the SF Diagnostic tool which is attached.

If anyone have an idea or suggestions that might help me, it would gratefully accepted.

Thanks in advance,
GihuNgu

Preferred Solution: No BSOD and no dump but random Windows freeze

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: No BSOD and no dump but random Windows freeze

It seems that there are no dump files.

Tip
Configure dumps

First, we want to make sure the computer is saving your dump files. Go to Control Panel -> System -> Advanced System Settings -> Startup and Recovery [Settings] Make sure that "Write Debugging Information" is set to Small Memory Dump (256kb) if it is not already.Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Next, make sure that the folder C:\Windows\Minidump exists. If not, create it (allow permission if asked). Make sure any dumps you want to analyze, whether yours or others', are in this folder. You can ZIP/RAR the files and send them to someone else to analyze as well.
A few recommendations:

Security App

Code:
Start Menu\Programs\avast! Free Antivirus Public:Start Menu\Programs\avast! Free Antivirus Public
Start Menu\Programs\PC Tools Firewall Plus Public:Start Menu\Programs\PC Tools Firewall Plus Public
Running two security application is never a good idea. Please remove Avast and Pc tools and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials: Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software

Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes, both recommended from a strict BSOD perspective. Microsoft Security Essentials, Free antivirus for windows and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Free

Information
DO NOT start the free trial of MalwareBytes. Deselect the option when prompted.

Tip
Make full scans with both separately.

Start up
Keep less stuff at the start-up. Only anti-virus, this helps avoid driver conflicts and improves time to log in to windows.

A:Vista 64-bit random BSOD and freeze Memory dump help

64bit bit operating systems are not commonly used, and as such have poor driver support. Few people here on TS (I would assume) use a 64 bit OS. I suggest finding a better driver as from what I have read, this seems to be the root of most 64 bit OS problems.

BTW- M$ requires are 64 bit drivers to be certified.

A:New PC, Random Black Screen Freeze under load, no dump file generated

The file you uploaded didn't contain anything. Please run Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions again and select option 2 in the instructions. Click the big orange 'Grab All' button and give it time to finish. Then upload the entire file and we will take a look.

Also, please include manufacturer and model of the PSU in your system specs at the bottom left of your last post. Just click that and there will be a link there to update system specs. Be sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you haven't already, please list the PSU, CPU cooler and anything else that may help. Sometimes we have to look up a component, so the details to do that helps us to help you.

Also, after that please open a elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

You actually did very well in filling in the system specs. Just a couple more things need to be added. Also, welcome to Seven Forums. When you say a new custom built computer, who built it and I assume it is still under warranty. Just add any details you can about the problem. If it happens when running a certain app, or when doing a certain thing that would be useful info to help us nail down the problem. Can I also assume the OS as already installed when you received the computer?

A:Random BSOD and Windows freeze

These crashes were caused by memory corruption (probably a driver). Please run this two test to find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!
Driver verifier

Quote:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Special Pool", "Force Pending I/O Requests" and "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line:
Code:
Delete these registry keys to stop Driver Verifier from loading (works in XP, Vista, Win7):
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDrivers
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\VerifyDriverLevel

I've been plagued by odd problems since making this custom build about a month ago but the latest is the increasing frequency of BSODs They never occur at load gaming with high end specs but often occur at shutdown forcing a restart before random drivers random memory at seemingly times, blaming BSOD dump I can then actually shut down I normally boot into windows in - seconds SSD but the latest post-BSOD boot took about five minutes from typing my BSOD at seemingly random times, memory dump blaming random drivers password into the login screen to where my desktop popped up A subsequent reboot was at normal speed The memory dumps always include the NT OS kernel but then also some other driver different each time which I suspect just happens to be the one trying to run at the time of the error Things I've tested Temperatures didn't really suspect them in the first place but I'm running cool Memory Both the native Windows test and memtest found no issues Hard drives chkdsk came back clean BSOD at seemingly random times, memory dump blaming random drivers All drivers are up to date although the uploaded report might show an older version of my sound card driver as I just reinstalled it at BSOD at seemingly random times, memory dump blaming random drivers the behest of windows action center which didn't make the notification go away mind I'm hoping someone wiser than I can make sense of this because it all seems so random to me Thanks in advance to whoever that is

I'd suggest you take them in the following manner:

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.
RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Quote:
The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.*Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot.*If RAM stick #2 passes, th... Read more

Hello, this is my first post in sevenforums. i have been facing a terrible problem lately. After just a regular windows installation My pc performance became extremely poor and hangs frequently, it either hangs or restarts showing bsod. About 6 times per hour (just imagine how annoying that can be ) I installed windows formatting my C drive 4 times already, but the problem seems to persist. I ran malwarebytes in safe mode using chameleon but nothing was found (except the usual crack files). All the softwares i use are the same ones i have been using for 4-5 years, just upgraded versions. After reading some threads here i uninstalled Virtual clone drive. The pc is now stable for the last 4 hours..no freeze,no bsod..but i am not sure if it stopped immediately after uninstalling that software.( I have already spent hours searching for solutions, getting kind of sloppy now). Can anyone please help me with this problem?

A:Random freeze and BSOD even after fresh install of windows 7

Dont get sloppy, man

First of all, Virtual Clone Drive causes a lot of BSODs. Uninstalling it is the right step. Observe the situation over a few hours. Restart it a couple of times. If it was all due to VirtualClone Drive, it is over.

For any further BSOD, post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

And, dont put anything in startup, other than egui.

Welcome to SF.

Like you indicated, you have the latest video driver.

However, your network and wireless network drivers need updating.

Most likely driver-related.

Still, run memtest86+ and let it go through at least six passes.

Finally, uninstall McAfee or Norton and replace it with MSE.

Hi There I have a fairly new PC approx months old and recently it has been crashing at random times of the day There is nothing in common with each crash i e I am doing different tasks at different times Basically the PC just turns off and starts booting all over again There is no BSOD dumps to check and the only thing I see in the event logs before the crash is the Multimedia Class Scheduler Service entering the quot stopped quot state This happens many times throughout the day so I am sceptical as to blaming the issue on this windows service My setup is as follows - Intel DQ SW Motherboard - Intel i - CPU - GB RAM - Windows Pro SP -bit fully patched This problem occurred right after PC dump Random crash, BSOD no purchasing the PC and because i have a good relationship with my supplier they swapped out the power supply and motherboard to be sure The problem went away for about months but has now returned Any help would be greatly appreciated Attached is the output from SF diagnostic Tool exe Cheers Tim

A:BSOD Random Mini Dump Error

Your BIOS dates from 2012. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard. If possible, use the "inside Windows" flash mechanism (if your OEM provides one).

Only 156 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 170 to 190 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Lot's of .NET framework errors. I'd suggest uninstalling them and then reinstalling them. Suggestions on how to do it are here: https://www.google.com/search?q=rein...x-a&channel=sb

Please remove all antivirus and all firewalls.
Then enable Windows Defender and Windows Firewall
Test to see if this stops the BSOD's
More than one antivirus and/or more than one firewall can cause problems (to include BSOD's) because they are competing with each other.

Please uninstall LogMeIn (dates from 2007/2008) and the Cyberlink software (dates from 2011) as they are older than Windows 8.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

My computer crashes are becoming more frequent - probably once or twice a week Hard for me to diagnose Random won't crashes zip BSOD, dump file because it works fine most of the time Often occurs right after Windows boots up although has also occurred hours after having been on Sometimes the computer just freezes up tries to restart itself but then has a disk boot error Occasionally doesn't want to start up at all and says quot disk boot failure quot I don't think I always get a blue screen - sometimes it's black I'm guessing it is a hardware issue of Random crashes BSOD, dump file won't zip some kind although I don't know for sure because I have reinstalled the OS about times in the last year or two and each time I get random crashes Even after upgrading from Windows XP to Windows I recently did a computer health check and it all turned out ok My harddrive was all good no bad sectors Random crashes BSOD, dump file won't zip or anything I have tested the RAM with Windows memory check tool I have done dskchk Random crashes BSOD, dump file won't zip and sfc scannow - no issues So now I want to see if the crash dump file can tell me anything I went to quot C windows minidump quot Oddly it doesn't show anything for the crash I had today but it shows that I had a crash yesterday so I right clicked on the dump file to zip it and upload it here but it won't let me zip the file It says quot file not found or no read permission quot when I try to zip it Anyway I uploaded the file that the DM log collector created if that tells you anything Did that also get the crash dump file

0xF4 bugchecks indicate that a critical object necessary for Windows to function has been terminated for whatever reason.

Unfortunately I cannot analyze much of this bugcheck with Small Memory Dumps, therefore Kernel Memory Dumps would be useful.

Follow these instructions on how to change to Kernel Memory Dumps.

Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD

Once changed wait for another BSOD, then upload the new dump file to a file sharing website like OneDrive.
The new dump file will be located in C:/Windows/memory.dmp.

Don't zip it up as it corrupts the dump file by compressing it.

In the mean time, whilst you wait for another BSOD I recommend running these tests as failing drives and bad RAM can cause these issues.

Memtest86 will test your RAM

   Information

Run Memtest86 for at least 8 passes so we get enough information to confirm that your RAM isn't failing

Run a Disk Check to scan for errors

   Note

Afterwards go into an Elevated Command Prompt (Run as administrator) and type in sfc /scannow
If it finds errors reboot and run the scan two more times

Run SeaTools to see if your HDD or SSD is failing

Post back the results.

Goodday good people of sevenforums,

I've been having bluescreen issues for about 5 months now, though i got them to be far less frequent through increasing the voltage on my RAM to 1,55 V.
Before any troubleshooting can occur, i need to be able to show dump files, but my computer doesn't seem to want to save dump files.
I have everything set up according to Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD (for small memory dumps), but for the past two months, the dump files don't seem to want to be created.
Could anyone assist me in at least getting my dumps back in order?

With regards,
Schmoerff

This was probably caused by your Itunes.

Ii would re-install it
also run a system file check
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow

If you are overclocking stop

Hello everyone. I am a newbie here and really need some help. I have a few dump files attached and was able to open them in debugger but don't truly understand what it could mean. If anyone could please take a look at them and tell me if it is a hardware issue that would be great.

I have tried chkdsk, CPU stress test, GPU stress test, Power supply stress test, and RAM test, all passed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there,

I'm running an IT department and one of my users is constantly getting BSOD's. It's happened three times today since the start of the morning. I need to fix this computer immediately .

I followed the instructions in this post: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

I've attached the .zip file that was created after running the tool, and I've attached a screenshot of the BSOD information that Windows provided me.

Hopefully someone can help me out with this soon.

Thank you,

Hello, Welcome to SF,

I guess on of the System service has caused the issue. Also iTunes has also caused the crash. Try to uninstall it and see whether that makes any difference. If your Overclocking please stop it. Make sure your BIOS firmeware is up to date. If your using any third party antivirus / Firewall uninstall it.

Run the Memory Diagnostic & HD Diagnostic

Also i would recommend to run System Integrity Checker
Start > Run > CMD >Right Click and Run as administrator > SFC/ SCANNOW

Hi all, I wonder if someone can help?

My PC crashes quite randomly, it doesn't seem to be when I'm doing anything specific or with any particular app or task.

Thanks in advance for any help.

A:Random BSOD, no pattern and not creating dump files.

Hello mate wonkybingo.

Can you uninstall roxio as a test?

And Free up the startup.
Click on the Start button
Type ?msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the ?Startup? tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Let us know the situation after doing these two .... we will go through some other and deeper steps depending on the results.

A:Random Bsod, Memory Corruption Crash Dump

I'm not sure why someone moved my post to the "Hijack this Logs and Analysis" area, since it's only for posting HijackThis logs. I'm having STOP errors, and my post concerns the Crash dump more than anything else. If someone could please move it back to a more appropriate area, I would appreciate it. Also it would be nice if I was notified that my post was moved, not sure how this works though (or who even moved it?)Here is a Crash Dump from today. The STOP error occurred while playing Diablo II (barely even 1 minute), and stated that LVMVDrv.sys was at fault. During the blue screen the music was going crazy and making strange grinding noises and repeating.__________________________________________________________________Microsoft ® Windows Debugger Version 6.7.0005.0Copyright © Microsoft Corporation. Guys,

I have an Acer laptop brand new and have been having random crashes since day 1. Came with Windows 7 Home Basic.
Specs are:
Core i3 2350M
2GB DD3 Ram
500GB HDD
nVidia 630M 1GB

I have used the SF Diagnostic tool and attached the files, but there are not memory dump files as i have tried several times to enable them but the system never creates them. The crash happens randomly and is not associated with Game or any specific application.

I am using Kaspersky Pure as antivirus and i am sure its not causing any problem as i have been using it on other systems and laptops.

Below is a screenshot from Even Viewer and Files from SF Tool.

Any help ?

A:BSOD Random 0x00000007A - No Dump files created

The error message you highlight simply say the last shutdown was unexpected. We need the DMPS

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
Please attach the DMP files to your next post not to post one.

If you are overclocking STOP

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. If empty (or non existent) please look in the following folders. C:\windows (the dmp should be called memory.dmp), and C:\windows\LiveKernelReports\Watchdog.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

I've read that you can by editing registry keys, but it was some site like 3 years ago.  Computer is freezing/locking up and unresponsive.  I need to force a dump when this happens.

A:How. Do. You. Force. Windows. To. Create. A. Dump. File. on. System. Freeze.

Hi Rixanne To force Windows to create a dump file on BSODs, follow the instructions below.Click on the Start Menu, then right-click on Computer and select Properties. From there, click on Advanced System Settings in the left pane. Click on the third Settings... button, under the Startup and Recovery category. From there, select Small memory dump (256k) in the second drop down list (under Write debugging information) and make sure that the directory is set to %SystemRoot%\Minidump. From there, a minidump file should be created each time you have a BSOD.

These were caused by a memory exception. Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

2-Driver verifier

Quote:
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Dear all,

I have been having BSODs few times today with the codes
0x0000004A (0x0000000007764DC2A,0.0000000000000002,0x000000000000000,0xFFFFF88016488B60)
IRQL_GT_ZERO-AT_SYSTEM_SERVICE

I have attached the zip file and a screenshot of the BSOD below.
It showed "Physical memory dump complete" however I could not find any dump files in the Minidump folder.
I managed to change the directory folder of the dump file location before another BSOD but still no luck.
I googled a bit on 0x0000004A but could get anything useful from it.

Can anyone help me on figuring out this problem?
I am having my finals tomorrow and I am really stressed out by this. I need my computer to be working fine.

Thanks a lot for your help!

A:Random BSOD with no dump files created, error 0x0000004A

With no logs there's nothing to analyse unfortunately. A 0x4A points towards a device driver but there's no way of telling what it is without the dump files, anything we could offer would be complete guesswork and that's not the way to go.

Check your settings are set as shown below and post up new logs if you receive any more BSODs.
Open Advanced System Settings
Click on Settings in Startup & Recovery
Make sure both boxes indicated below are checked
In the dropdown box ensure you're set to record Small Memory Dumps

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall the program at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Download and install this version of Intel Rapid Storage.

Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Atheros Valkyrie USB BootRom driver is also contributing in the BSODs.

Update it from ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows (Atheros?????)

If possible, try to update the BIOS from Toshiba Satellite's website, for NWQAA.

Code:
BiosVersion = 2.20
BiosReleaseDate = 09/14/11
Let us know the results. And with the next post, upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

These crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (c0000005) probably your DirectX

Also of note:: Related to RTCore64.sys MSI Afterburner from Micro-Star Int'l Co. Ltd. Yours is from 2005 and should be removed (best) or updated to a win 7 compliant version.
.
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

* If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

* If you have raid update its Driver.

Memtest.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.

A:No BSOD/memory dump, Random Freezes, Event Log Analysis, Desperate

I'm no smart soul but it looks to me like power faults. Start by checking all the connections from the power supply to the motherboard. A few disconnects and reconnect will clean the pins. Be sure all the pins in the connectors are fully seated. Sometimes a pin will get ejected from the connector (pushed out by the motherboard pins).

Next would be to verify the power supply voltages. These should not vary by more than +/- 5% on any of the rails.
One method is to down load and install HWiNFO64, if you don't already have a voltage monitor.

Hello Everyone,

I have problem with my PC recently, i've got some BSOD lately and some random freeze. i didnt have an experience with computer things. i can't give some detail info because i dont know anything about that.

Regards, from a newbie buddy

A:BSOD and Random freeze

Hi. . .

The dumps list ATI video as the probable cause -

Code:
atikmpag.sys Tue Jan 13 11:20:43 2015 (54B545DB)
Update the driver - https://www.sysnative.com/drivers/dr...d=atikmpag.sys

I don't know what to tell you about the freezing. It could be caused by just about anything (UNKNOWN hardware failure).

Be sure to look for a BIOS update. Yours is dated January 2010 - long before Windows 10 came out.

Code:
BIOS Version: American Megatrends Inc. 080014 , 1/15/2010
Regards. . .

NOTE: I am recovering from major surgery (double hip replacement) and may not be able to promptly reply to your thread. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I'm posting on behalf of a friend of mine. I've attached a DM log from his most recent BS and set my PC specs to reflect his.
While he was telling me that he Blue Screened, I asked him a few questions to see what he was doing at the time, but he told me that he couldn't think of anything that had been consistent throughout each freeze, only that the freeze happened first, and the BS happened on start up.
The first time it happened, he had been downloading Skype.
The second, he was browsing the internet and using Photoshop.
The third time he was in queue for an online video game.
Any help would be extremely appreciated.

A:BSoD after random freeze

Hi Toxictides00 and your friend,

Welcome to the 10forums

Please follow my instructions carefully, it is for
1. removing outdated drivers,
2. removing software that is known for causing bluescreens,
3. checking the hardware, the bluescreen error is known as a hardware error

Please uninstall ASUS software, it is known for causing bluescreens and uses outdated drivers.

Please check the motherboard manufacturer for driver updates for the ASmedia USB drivers & network drivers and update/remove/reinstall following drivers
Driver Reference Table - ndisrd.sys
Driver Reference Table - PcaSp60.sys

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.
Uninstall Daemon ToolsDownload the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
Double click the executable to open itClick on the button shown below

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window.
Please uninstall Norton while troubleshooting and use Windows Defender as alternative.
Norton has caused 1 of the crashes

A:Random freeze/BSOD

Why can't I edit this post anymore?
Anyway, I found something that might related, I'm using 32 bit OS, hardware reserved took so much?

I got this problem before I restart my computer, I didn't get the chance to print screen because I can't save on mspaint, was insufficient system resource

My boot is already like below:

After reformatting my computer with the vista cd that was included when i bought my laptop by dell, my laptop sometimes crashes randomly. It doesn't happen very often but i noticed it happens when i'm installing something or running a lot of stuff simultaneously (game + internet for ex.). Also, it tends to just freeze at times.
I reformatted because it was doing the same thing before, but on a more regular basis.
Since it doesn't crash on startup, i don't know how i can isolate the exact problem.
I read around the forum and will upload my minidump so you guys can help me. thanks a bunch!

Hello,

I hope someone can help me this time. My ACER Aspire Desktop randomly freezes a few minutes after boot. When I restart it will show random Bluescreen error messages. Sometimes I just get a blackscreen with a prompt or a blackscreen with a checksum message: "file is possibly corrupt..."

I really want to find out what causes all these. I'm desperate.

Thanks a lot!

Hi,
i have random freeze and BSOD with various errors.

dumps as requested by stickythread are attached.

i will provide more dumps when the problem will happen again.

Thank you.

The problem was caused by the motherboard (BIOS P1.90), it seems that does not support 8X4GB ram modules.
I have removed 4 modules and the problem has disappeared.
I do not think that the memory modules are defective because memtest found no error.

My problems are:
1. BSOD (CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT)
2. Random freeze #1
3. Random freeze #2 mouse is movable but wont interact with the computer
4. Random freeze #3 Primary screen freezes but mouse is movable in the background. I can move mouse to monitor #2 but cannot interact.
5. Display driver stopped responding and has recovered (GTX 460 x2 327.25 Driver)

The two dumps you uploaded shows different bugcheck codes so it is hard to say whether the issue is caused by hardware or software at this point. Is there any more crash dumps ?. If yes, upload them for analysis. Also please use the system for one or more hours and run Speccy to monitor system temperature. This time post the web address displayed by Speccy instead of attaching the report.

Hi, I have almost exact problem as "Dakotaa" here KERNAL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR 0x7a while playing certain games, no dumps cr

Except I get 3 different BSOD?s from time to time.
I have ran memtest and SeaTools and everythings fine there. I was sure that SSD was causing this when this started maybe a year ago because dump files couldnt be created and sometimes after the error BIOS couldnt find SSD to boot. I didnt find any solution for this so I bought a new SSD few days ago and couple BSOD?s already.

Thank you in forward.

Uninstall Virtual CloneDrive.

Make it sure that the SSD is having the latest firmware. How to Upgrade Samsung SSD Firmware | StorageReview.com - Storage Reviews

Dont let the SSD to go to sleep. Follow Power Plan Settings - Change ... go upto step 5. B) and set the hard disc time to zero or never.

I built a new PC last July 2012, and ever since then I'm getting BSOD's and freezes at random. I can install programs but when I try to run them, I get freezes/blue screens. Also happens when I install updates for Windows. I've attached all the files from all the blue screens.

Help would be very much appreciated.

Hello.

Win 8.1 has been crashing randomly. I can't see any triggers at all.

Parts are roughly 1 year-old, ssd is 6 months old. Both CPU and GPU were overclocked, I disabled them but still crashes. Also, crashes did not happen under intensive tasks.

Mostly browsing internet, files, watching youtube stuff. I did install all my drivers using DRIVERBOOSTER, but I ran driver verifier and nothing came up. Also I think if it was drivers, something would have shown up in the event viewer.

I'd like to narrow it down to drivers, software, hardware or OS so I can figure out what is going to be my next step.

Thanks.

There was only the one minidump collected. Where have all the earlier ones got to?Let's collect some more information: I'll have a look at it and help you try to resolve the problem. Please follow the instructions: BSOD Posting Instructions: Windows 7 - Vista(Note: When you run BSOD_Windows7_Vista_v2.64_jcgriff2_.exe, it will also run autoruns.exe ... and both need to be in the same location!)... with one exception in the following line:"4. Zip up the entire output folder + PERFMON and attach the zip file to your next post."The BC forums will allow a total attachment size of only 512 kb (and what you need to attach will exceed this limit). Please upload the zip file to a file sharing website of your choice and and post a link to it in this thread so that we can access your uploaded zip file. I will have a look at the contained information and see if I can shed some light on your BSOD issue.See the suggestions in the following links for recommendations on file sharing websites:http://lifehacker.com/388284/best-online-file-sharing-serviceshttp://www.hongkiat.com/blog/15-great-free-online-file-sharing-alternatives/http://www.smashingapps.com/2008/08/28/5-best-free-file-hosting-services-to-store-your-files.html Please Publish a Snapshot using Speccy, and post a link to it in this thread. It is a convenient and accurate way of providing us with details of your computer specifications. Hi,
Recently I have been experiencing random blue screens in which the monitor will display nothing and my keyboard and mouse will freeze. (pressing caps lock doesn't turn the caps locks light on and pressing the dpi increase/decrease doesn't change the level) Another strange problem is my computer doesn't restart and the only way I found out it was blue screening was that I thought of running bluescreenview and it matched the times. I have attached the file which the tutorial post states you need and if there is anymore information you need, let me know.
Thanks

I have been working on this for months.
Started with a clean install of Windows 7 Pro
SSD Firmware was updated at installation time
Here are some of the steps I have already taken

1. Replaced video card
2. New Memory
3. Removed Secondary Hard Drives
4. Updated all drivers
5. Updated motherboard firmware
6. communicated with ASUS ( Turned out not to be much help as they could not find a replacement MB )
7. Ran verifier.exe when dne64x.sys appeared as a problem I removed Cisco VPN and AVG Pro ( That error appeared to go away but I am still getting errors )
8. Removed Internal Blu-ray Drive ( I just did this 2 days ago after I realized the system was not seeing the drive. I was hoping that was the issue but Noooo! that did not work )

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

"It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception".

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds.

If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating.

Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU.

Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference.

If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

I would download cpu-z and gpu-z (both free) and keep an eye on the video temps Let us know if you need help

Hello all! This is my 1st post in the forums but it comes under bad circumstances.

Ever since I installed Sims 3(and since removed) for my daughter on my PC it has been crashing a lot. Sometimes I'll go to the CPU and that little box saying "windows is recovering from an unexpected shutdown"

Other times I'll be playing a game that I never had problems with before and the screen will turn black with lots of colour lines in it plus a buzzing sound. Then the cpu crashes.

I have checked all my drivers and I believe they are all up to date. I'm tapped out of knowledge at this point and I am not sure where to look next.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Random freeze/crash/BSOD's Please Help

Welcome to Seven Forums.

This crash doesn't have specific causes listed.

The dump file show a bug check value 0X3b, this is usually a graphic's driver, other possibilities are antivirus/antispyware/security programs, RAM, Hard drive, loose cables.

Let's start with installing a new ATI Graphics driver
1. First un-install the old driver, Download and install Driver Sweeper from:
Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
2. Uninstall 'ATI Catalyst Install Manager' from Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features
Go to Control Panel, View by: Small or Large icons in Device manager. In Device manager select Display Adapters.

3. In Display Adapters right-click on your device and select uninstall. Tick the box that says 'Delete the driver software for this device'

4. Re-Boot into Safe Mode and run Driver Sweeper, to ensure complete removal of items, Run Driver Sweeper as administrator. Right-click Driver Sweeper > properties > Compatibility tab tick 'Run this program as Administrator'.

5. In Driver Sweeper select the ATI- Display only and then Analyse:

6. Now select Clean to remove all ATI software:

7. Re-boot normally and install the newest ATI official drivers.

Then stress test your graphics card, Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Your temps shouldn't go over 90?C.

If you still get crashes, re-install the graphics drivers without Catalyst Control Center.

Whenever I play Starcraft II (sometimes Skyrim). my comp suddenly freezes..
the sound it makes is like getting a BSOD (repeating sounds) and the sound get fixed for a while and then goes back to the sound it makes (it's really annoying xD)
and whenever it freezes, i need to force shut down it (remove the plug, pressing/holding the power button doesn't work)
so i want to know how will I fix this because it happens every 30 mins. (i think) and it's really annoying..
and also. the game DOES meet on the Specs of my PC
here's my SPECS:
Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.80Ghz
ASUS P5QL SE Motherboard
American Megatrends Version 0402 (BIOS)
NVIDIA 9500GT w/ 1 GB Memory

Update:

It now so happened, that, after crashing 5(!) times in a row, it also crash-froze during start up. I somehow managed to get it back booting up using start up repair, but start up repair told me that "It was not able to resolve this problem".

Anyone?

hi,
i got the problem of random BSOD/freeze. when my pc reboots sometimes he reboots again at the page loading operating system. and i keep receiving the BSOD/freez after that it appears in 20-30 min. the only way to stop the freezes or BSOD's are that when my memory is half available (i got 8GB DDR3 and it only shows 3.99GB available). the things i tried already are :
-newest driver of GPU
- memtest for 24h : no error's ( also tested the module's one by one and all together )
-reassamble the pc.
-forcing windows to use the 8GB of ram (in MSconfig)
-tested my memory on GPU
does anyone know how to fix it i'm out of idea's for the fix. here are the dump files

greets

A:random BSOD/freeze while using pc error code 0x000003

The reason why your computer can access only 3.99 GB is that you have 32 bit OS.

Install 64 Bit OS and your computer will be able to access 8 GB Ram

Greetings and thanks for this forum Please help I have searched this and onther sites including Microsoft and I am able to find alot of complaints about this but no real documented fixes The problem the machine will randomly go dormant It Home new (No Premium & Brand random PC! BSOD). freeze might stay up for minutes it may last for days This usually happens when the machine is idle but it happened once when I was typing something There is no BSOD and Ihave had it keep the display on and had it go blaock Either way there is no one-blink-per-second on the HDD led CAPS Lock will not toggle nor will mouse or keyboard respond Only way out & Home Premium random freeze (No BSOD). Brand new PC! is to power off on The Event logs are non-descript the usual Kernal Power error then there will be one prior to that indicating the quot previous shut-down time was unexpected quot Scrolling further you can see some services entering the stopped state but it's usually well before the quot unexpected shutdown quot The Machine Lenovo K fu Intel i GHz gb MHz upped to with Coarsair x G tb Nvidia GT GB Intel P Express chipset Watt P S yes only W DVD card reader sound and the other usual acoutriments on a desktop Additionally this is the second one of these systems I have tried with the same exact problem I have gone in and deactivated any and all sleep hybernate power-saving options Initially I had added the extra memory a D-Link wireless PCI card and a seconf HD Thinking I was possibly overloading the P S I removed all of those items and it still froze I battled that PC for a couple of weeks and finally took it back and got a second one This time I simply left it as-is and tried it Same problem with this one I have tried loading all the Win amp updates although SP is not presenting itself with this second system I have scrubbed it and reloaded with the quot rescue disk quot several times After researching here I performed a quot Clean Boot quot with only the MS services running and it still froze within a few hours I next tried running in the quot cleanboot quot configuration in Safe Mode w Networking and it actually stayed up for over day Then I followed the directions to search amp delete the existing Nvidia drivers and install the latest amp greatest for my card I then re-enabled the quot normal quot startup in MSconfig but it froze again So this morning I am back to quot Clean Boot quot in Safe Mode no start-up programs and only MS services running Since it froze with Clean Boot only MS services running I am now thinking it might be a MS service problem but I am not sure what to do at this point Very frustrating on such a new PC Since this is the second machine with identical problem - and of course Lenovo has quot never heard of this before quot - it has to be something with drivers or hardware By the way there are no conflicts in device manager either Anything anyone can help me with here will be greatly appreciated I have nothing to post file-wise as there is no memry dumps or error messages and I am not near the machine right now Thanks in advance your help is greatly appreciated

A:& Home Premium random freeze (No BSOD). Brand new PC!

Phat Chance,
I gather this replacement new computer is also under warranty.

A new computer should not be presenting with the problems you have listed - & we volunteers should not be putting at risk the rights,YOU, the consumer has under that warranty...

I strongly suggest that you should seek further advice asap.
Under Warranty terms a duty of care applies.

The issue needs to be ironed out between the Computer Manufacturer, retailer, Microsoft possibly & of course you.

Hi folks Signed up to the forum specifically to ask about this problem I'm having with my -month old laptop It's an Acer Aspire V - G Full specs are on my system specs page Basically I've been experiencing a combination of BSOD and System Freeze Crash problems several times on a daily basis over the past few weeks The first time experienced the BSOD was around three weeks after buying this laptop I just shrugged it off as a fluke at first but then it started becoming more frequent Random times Freeze several System and BSOD daily and now the system also just freezes out of the blue I haven't identified a specific pattern when it encounters a BSOD and when the system freezes The closest to a pattern that I can identify is that every morning when I wake up I wake up to my laptop already having the BSOD Totally clueless here I've attached the zip file Random BSOD and System Freeze several times daily of my diagnostic logs so that maybe one of you gurus out there can tell me what you think is going wrong with my system Rest assured when I wake up tomorrow my laptop will have the BSOD again if I leave it open

A:Random BSOD and System Freeze several times daily

Welcome,

While we wait for a BSOD analyst to help out further, it might help if you can check your system for corruptions.

Can you run a sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt, and report back what it finds?

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Regards,
Golden

A:Random computer freeze/BSOD Kernel-Power 41 help

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis (from the Pinned Topic at the top of the forum): Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions Please use Option 1 as it provides Event Viewer logs.

As this is most commonly a hardware/compatibility/low-level driver error, please do this:
1. Get ALL available Windows Updates. It may take several trips to get them all
2. Start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics
3. If all of the hardware tests pass, then run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Hi All First post here but have visited often over the years to learn about various subjects Lately I've been frequenting the many helpful BSOD pages thanks to the problem that is the subject of this thread I'm hoping you wizards can help me pinpoint the offending driver or hardware before I resort to random uninstalls and eventually a clean Windows reinstall as more extreme procedures I know what follows is a read but it's hopefully well-written so please bear with First the System Specs Specs are in my profile BSOD, Random Minutes After Screen Black Startup Freeze, or Basically this is a heavily upgraded OEM the HP m p HP Pavilion Elite m p Desktop PC Product Specifications HP Pavilion Elite m p Desktop PC HP Support The current configuration ran smoothly for over six months before the problem appeared With the exception of the graphics card more on that below Random BSOD, Freeze, or Black Screen Minutes After Startup the most recent changes were the addition of the two HDDs at the beginning of this year when migrating to SSD Before that the machine was completely problem free going back to its inception in she's an old girl I know The Mystery Currently the system is at a point where it always freezes throws a random BSOD or the screen goes black monitor goes to sleep within minutes after startup It almost always happens within five minutes after the desktop loads but occasionally up to ten minutes This always requires a forced restart with a chance of one of these problems occurring again following reboot for an unpredictable number of times What began as typically a single occurrence has since become on average two crash reboot cycles The record was four Once the system is running for at least five minutes the mystical quot five minute rule quot as I've come to know it it works fine I can leave it idle or punish it with maxed out ultimate settings in Skyrim for hours on end and it won't so much as hiccup But after being shut down or in sleep mode for at least some hours the startup problem always resurfaces in whichever flavors and quantities it decides to take In all it's a tolerable nuisance but one that's surely the manifestation of one or more drivers or hardware gone wild Like the worst computing problems this one arose seemingly out of the ether and has been in a downward spiral since The variety and frequency of crashes seems to have gotten progressively worse over the more than two months since the problem first appeared As far as I can tell it all started with a sudden freeze on July that had me thinking my wireless mouse and keyboard batteries needed replacing Weeks went by with no problems until the black screens started occurring Still these were intermittent and occurred days or weeks apart Before long the first BSODs started appearing These were also intermittent at first As time went on it got to the point at which things are now For basically the entire month of September there have been one or more BSODs almost daily uploaded for your debugging pleasure but in any case always one or more of the three types of crashes freeze BSOD or black screen shortly after startup Today's session went like this Freeze three minutes in forced-reboot BSOD some minutes in forced reboot different BSOD seven minutes in broke the quot five minute rule quot I know forced reboot up and running six hours and counting Each day the experience is different last night was a black screen and BSOD but the one constant is the crash es almost always occur within five occasionally ten minutes post startup Or at least that was the case until yesterday when the system threw a curve ball with a BSOD twenty minutes in I pray this isn't a new symptom So far the two startups since then have remained true to the five five to ten minute rule The Detective Work Needless to say I have tried everything I can think of in this harrowing driver hardware whodunit I started off investigating the basics There were no manual changes to software drivers or ... A:Random BSOD, Freeze, or Black Screen Minutes After Startup

You have described exactly my problem, dude!
If the crash (not necesarilly the BSOD) came in a middle of skype or VOIP conversation, can you still talk/hear for 30 sec - 1 minute, like me? With black screen on, in stand by. I can.
I hardly wait to find the solution for our problem...

Maybe is usefull to check this post too: BSOD minutes after desktop starts

Alright so i've had my computer for quite a while now and im starting to see a few errors here and other + while gaming/browsing the BSOD/Freeze internet Random errors? there I've tried several things Random BSOD/Freeze while gaming/browsing the internet + other errors? to fix my problems but none of them seem to have worked Let me begin by describing the issue When i'm playing a game or just watching something Random BSOD/Freeze while gaming/browsing the internet + other errors? on youtube my computer will either BSOD or freeze for a few seconds and then say quot Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version stopped responding and has been recovered quot furthermore whenever my computer crashes it seems to have a very hard time starting up again The screens usually go black after the windows logo has appeared and after that a hard shut down is required and if im lucky ill be able to login Im thinking its a driver related problem seeing that i can boot up in safe mode with no problems Edit Is there anyway to move this thread to the crashes and debugging section Additional information I am running Windows Enterprise x with service pack I'm using two Nvidia Gtx graphic cards with the newest drivers I have tried ALL the drivers for these cards and i have performed a clean install of them though without any luck The problems started after i updated my driver to a newer version I have tried lowering my GPU which didn't help I have been playing around in the nvidia controle panel Lowering the PhysX quality etc It's not my computer overheating It might have something to do with SLI seeing that when my SLI is activated its more prone to crash

Hi A few months ago I did something pretty stupid in hindsight I should say and downloaded an application that promised to spoof IP addresses I wanted to listen to Pandora again you see and I can't anymore from the UK Anyway it seemed to work sort of OK but very soon afterwards my gmail account was compromised and a spam mail redirects; computer random and Google link freeze BSOD was sent out from my account to my contacts list This was pretty alarming for me but I ran a computer scan which located a number of infections and cleaned up my PC or so I thought and then uninstalled the dodgy application Things sort of seemed ok but then I started to notice the every once in a while I would click on a link from Google and I would go to a completely different site quite often Myspace I also began to notice that sometimes when I logged on to Windows my Virgin PCGuard virus spyware checked provided by my ISP would run but then after this happened everything would freeze and I couldn't click on any icons or anything Gradually both these problems Google link redirects; random computer freeze and BSOD have become worse over time so that they are now unbearable and I can't ignore them anymore Quite often now when I restart my laptop it doesn't start up properly it blue screens on me and then I have to start it up in safe mode and run a scan delete the spyware that it finds and then it starts up properly And then it seems to be ok for a short while but then the problems come back again and the cycle continues And the google links redirecting is ubiquitous But I can't seem to spot any particular pattern or anything systematic So I started looking around on the internet and I realised quite quickly after reading sites like this that I have some kind Google link redirects; random computer freeze and BSOD of malware problem I tried to download Windows Defender but I can't get onto windows download com same with Paretologic and some of the other free spyware tools don't find anything So I thought I would come to you guys for some help Thanks so much in advance for Google link redirects; random computer freeze and BSOD anything you can tell me I attach and enclose the files as detailed in your sticky instructions Looking forward to hearing from you and my apologies for adding to your workload DDS Ver - - - NTFSx Run by Dike at on Internet Explorer BrowserJavaVersion Microsoft Windows XP Professional GMT AV PCguard Anti-Virus On-access scanning disabled Updated B A BD - - -AEA -C BB B FW PCguard Firewall disabled BF -D - EC -ADAE-A F DFC A Running Processes C WINDOWS system svchost -k DcomLaunch svchost exe C WINDOWS System svchost exe -k netsvcs C Program Files Virgin Broadband PCguard Fws exe svchost exe svchost exe C WINDOWS system spoolsv exe C WINDOWS Explorer EXE C WINDOWS system ctfmon exe C Program Files Common Files Nero Lib NMIndexStoreSvr exe svchost exe C Program Files Virgin Broadband Wireless AffinegyService exe C Program Files Common Files Apple Mobile Device Support bin AppleMobileDeviceService exe C Program Files Bonjour mDNSResponder exe C Program Files WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software bin btwdins exe C Program Files Common Files Authentium AntiVirus dvpapi exe C Program Files CA PPRT bin ITMRTSVC exe C Program Files Java jre bin jqs exe C Program Files Kontiki KService exe C Program Files Common Files LightScribe LSSrvc exe C Program Files Nero Nero Nero BackItUp NBService exe C Program Files Raxco PerfectDisk PDAgent exe C Program Files CyberLink Shared Files RichVideo exe C Program Files WinPcap rpcapd exe C Program Files samsung Samsung Network Manager SNMWLANService exe C Program Files SRS Labs WOWXT and TSXT Driver SRS PostInstaller exe C WINDOWS system svchost exe -k imgsvc C Program Files Common Files Nero Lib NMIndexingService exe C Program Files Virgin Broadband PCguard rpsupdaterR exe C Program Files iPod bin iPodService exe C WINDOWS System svchost exe -k HTTPFilter C Program Files Internet Explorer iexplore exe C WINDOWS ... Please note that these fixes are not instantaneous. Most infections require more than one round to properly eradicate.

Please stay with me until given the 'all clear' even if symptoms seemingly abate.

Kindly follow my instructions and please do no fixing on your own or running of scanners unless requested by a helper.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am sorry to inform you that one or more of the identified infections is a backdoor trojan.

This allows hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and download and execute files.

If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud?

Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.

It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence.

Download Combofix from any of the links below. You must rename it before saving it. Save it to your desktop.

Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. You can find instructions HERE.

Double click on Combo-Fix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

My PC is year and months old I no loop, reboot, boot BSOD, minidump Random freeze, anymore. have never changed anything inside it besides thermal paste and cleaning dust Since september I have been having BSOD nearly every Random BSOD, freeze, reboot, boot loop, no minidump anymore. day And many times through the year as well but they all got fixed by replugging stuff cleaning dust and reapplying thermal paste - During september it was like min of chain BSOD when using it for the first time of the day somewhere within the first two hours then it runs fine the whole day I could play and watch videos freely - Mid-late september it started to BSOD and also reboot without blue screens and freezing until I reboot myself at any time even idle it was barely usable - of september I update Realtek HD Audio driver get MSE reinstall Nvidia graphic drivers no BSOD for the day but a day after it starts again and since th of september it does not create minidump files anymore Yet it is configurated to create them it even says it during the BSOD now I take photos instead Yet I still got one more minidump created the rd of october the last of them while I had BSOD's few days before that haven't created minidumps I uninstalled MSE and the Realtek HD Audio Driver and it became more usable but still having crashes days out of - On November th I reinstalled Windows Home Premium b with the CD Still the same day with no BSOD and still no minidumps the folder didn't even create I had to do it myself still nothing Very often after a crash the PC is running but won't reboot the led of my screen is supposed to be blue but it stays orange a lot so I have to keep pusing quot Reset quot button until it really reboots Sometimes worse it loops the reboot I mean the motherboard fan instead of going continuous uninterrupted quot Vrooooooooooooom quot does quot Vroooom Vrooooom Vrooooom quot infinitely I know it keeps rebooting because if I open the CD reader it instantly closes whereas it stays open if it goes just long quot Vrooooooooooooom quot This case is the worst it feels like my PC is dieing I tried removing the smallest RAM stick when it happened to me days ago and it booted fine directly after but soon got a BSOD just on scrolling a Youtube playlist thus loading its thumbnails I also get the quot File header checksum is corrupt quot black screen few times after trying to reboot Crashing happens mostly on videos and games livestreams But also while idle not often mostly after it already crashed Can happen minutes after first boot or one hour or five but mostly the first two hours if it lasts more while lots of videos were watched then it is likely to not crash at all for the day I suspect in order My RAM sticks GB because I get BSOD even idle when doing nothing graphic intensive sometimes when opening several Chrome tabs I can crash EVEN IN SAFE MODE Even while rebooting before or after getting to the BIOS screen Even while restoring to a previous date Graphic Card like everything inside the PC it's as old And earlier in the past months some particles in games started flipping out like crazy deforming my characters in TERA WoW LoL Sleeping Dogs then BSOD now it doesn't even warn But it can still run games at lowest settings and videos in p or p fps fine and I crash even without using graphic intensive apps so it's less likely to be the cause of crashing while browsing Windows Explorer for example BIOS this one I haven't ever updated because I'm too newbie Power Supply Case amp fan the only thing I haven't properly cleaned ever just sprayed canned air inside because it's said to be dangerous I tried - Reinstalling Windows helped just for the day of the reinstall - Display Driver Upgraded and downgraded many different Nvidia versions but even the ones that worked well don't anymore and having one is worse than having no driver Because I get the quot Nvidia kernel Display driver XXX XX stopped responding and recovered quot error on most videos And I can ... I am no expert, but since you have not yet run a memtest and even the Windows Memory Diagnostic turns out to be finding errors i would highly recommend running memtest for a few passes and see what happens.

Hello For the last couple months my PC has been having an issue where the screen randomly freezes and the last sounds that were playing loop and then stop This can happen while playing a game be it Hearthstone Batman Arkham City any game Can also happen when using any web based flash like YouTube Twitch etc But I have also had freezes about a minute after logging on without even doing any of the above CPU temperatures right before freeze appear normal and the fans stay at about the same speeds when screen no - BSOD Black System Reboot Hard Freeze, Random on freeze happens at least I don't hear them spinning up I am forced to do a hard reboot but it takes a few tries to get the PC to boot because the monitor simply acts like it doesn't detect any video signal upon reboot I can hear Windows do its boot up sounds Random System Freeze, no BSOD - Black screen on Hard Reboot but nothing on Random System Freeze, no BSOD - Black screen on Hard Reboot screen I have a feeling Random System Freeze, no BSOD - Black screen on Hard Reboot this might be multiple problems linked together I included a zip of my computer's SF Diangostic Tool report Thanks for taking a look at this problem all help is welcome and appreciated

A:Random System Freeze, no BSOD - Black screen on Hard Reboot

That definitely sounds like a graphics driver related issue, if not then a hardware failure in your GPU. I would recommend updating your graphics driver by booting into safe mode (F8 on startup).
Uninstall the current ones via the control panel.
Let us know the results.
