BSOD While playing FFXI/FFXIV + more.

Q: BSOD While playing FFXI/FFXIV + more.

I've been struggling with this for over a year now. Always seem to rid myself of it for a few days then it just comes right back. Finally at my end with it and decided its time to seek out help from more knowledged people than myself. There is no consistency in the rate it happens I can go all day, a couple days, or I wont even make it 10 minutes back to back without having to stare at the joy of the BSOD. If somebody could figure this out i'd appreciate it cause I have ran out of ideas other than throwing this laptop infront of a vehicle.

Preferred Solution: BSOD While playing FFXI/FFXIV + more.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi!

I've had this BSOD a second time now within two months and it's getting me a bit worried. It has happened both times when I have been playing Final Fantasy XIV. I don't exactly know what the error was but I did download the tool to make the files of it (I guess) and zipped it and attatched to this thread.

After the BSOD my PC starts normally and doesn't behave oddly in any way. I might be a bit paranoid since this is only the 2nd time this has happened but it would be nice to know what might be the cause of this and how to resolve it. Any thoughts or questions?

I'm experiencing issues with online games. I either have my computer freeze up, receive BSOD, or have my laptop screen go completely black and then the screen comes back with the Nvidia kernel error where it says that the kernal was restarted.

I have attached:
- SF Diagnostic results.zip - when I ran the tool the application had an error when it had to get the dump files.
- Speccy Summary Idle image
- Prime95 results image
- Furmark score image
- OCCT results

Let me know if there is anything I need to provide. Thank you for any help.

A:BSOD Playing FFXIV, GW2, Aion, etc

This is the error that I receive using the Seven Forums Diagnostic tool and selecting MINIDUMP. I have also attached the only MiniDump file that gets generated. The progress bar at the bottom of the diagnostic tool stays at about 25% green and this is the only file that gets generated.

The past couple of nights i've been having freezes and lock ups, without BSODs. THis has been a recurring problem for almost a year now (yes I know, should have addressed sooner but I didn't really know what was going on and just basically dealt with it.) Well, last night it finally happened twice, almost back to back, while playing FFXIV: ARR and streaming South Park from the South Park Studios Website. The freezes have happened while doing almost everything, and then at times almost doing nothing but browsing in Chrome.

However, back to the issue at hand. Last night I got two BSODs while playing FFXIV and streaming vidoe. Attached are the BSOD dumps as per the instructions listed in the sticky on the forum. A tad frustrated so if I've left out any information that could/can/would be helpful, PLEASE let me know!

A:BSOD playing FFXIV ARR + Streaming

As an addition, on the first BSOD I was frustrated so i hit the hard reset switch to reboot. On the second one, it rebooted on its own before I could even do anything. Not sure if either of that would show up in the dump file, so theres that.

Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try
Synopsis:

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress.
Generic "Stop 0x124" Troubleshooting Strategy:
1) Ensure that none of the hardware components are overclocked. Hardware that is driven beyond its design specifications - by overclocking - can malfunction in unpredictable ways.

2) Ensure that the machine is adequately cooled. If there is any doubt, open up the side of the PC case (be mindful of any relevant warranty conditions!) and point a mains fan squarely at the motherboard. That will rule out most (lack of) cooling issues.

3) Update all hardware-related drivers: video, sound, RAID (if any), NIC... anything that interacts with a piece of hardware. It is good practice to run the latest drivers anyway.

4) Update the motherboard BIOS according to the manufacturer's instructions. Their website should provide detailed instructions as to the brand and model-specific procedure.

5) Rarely, bugs in the OS may cause "false positive" 0x124 events where the hardware wasn't complaining but Windows thought otherwise (because of the bug). At the time of writing, Windows 7 is not known to suffer from any such defects, but it is nevertheless important to always keep Windows itself updated.

6) Attempt to (stress) test those hardware components which can be put through their paces artificially. The most obvious examples are the RAM and HDD(s). For the RAM, use the in-built memory diagnostics (run MDSCHED) or the 3rd-party memtest86 utility to run many hours worth of testing. For hard drives, check whether CHKDSK /R finds any problems on the drive(s), notably "bad sectors". Unreliable RAM, in particular, is deadly as far as software is concerned, and anything other than a 100% clear memory test result is cause for concern. Unfortunately, even a 100% clear result from the diagnostics utilities does not guarantee that the RAM is free from defects - only that none were encountered during the test passes.

7) As the last of the non-invasive troubleshooting steps, perform a "vanilla" reinstallation of Windows: just the OS itself without any additional applications, games, utilities, updates, or new drivers - NOTHING AT ALL that is not sourced from the Windows 7 disc. Should that fail to mitigate the 0x124 problem, jump to the next steps. Otherwise, if you run the "vanilla" installation long enough to convince yourself that not a single 0x124 crash has occurred, start installing updates and applications slowly, always pausing between successive additions long enough to get a feel for whether the machine is still free from 0x124 crashes. Should the crashing resume, obviously the very last software addition(s) may be somehow linked to the root cause.
If stop 0x124 errors persist despite the steps above, and the harware is under warranty, consider returning it and requesting a replacement which does not suffer periodic MCE events. Be aware that attempting the subsequent harware troubleshooting steps may, in some cases, void your warranty:
8) Clean and carefully remove any dust from the inside of the machine. Reseat all connectors and memory modules. Use a can of compressed air to clean out the RAM DIMM sockets as much as possible.

9) If all else fails, start removing items of hardware one-by-one in the hope that the culprit is something non-essential which can be removed. Obviously, this type of testing is a lot easier if you've got access to equivalent components in order to perform swaps.

Should you find yourself in the situation of having performed all of the steps above without a resolution of the symptom, unfortunately the most likely reason is because the error message is literally corr... Read more

It happens. FF games cause BSODs on their own. But before saying that, we need to check the situation in detail, and for the purpose the data you uploaded is not enough.

Click on button below ....

It will download the DM log collector. Right click on the application and run as administrator. It will generate a .zip file on your desktop. Upload the .zip.

That is from blue screen viewer obviously.

BSOD happens randomly. However when I get in heavily populated areas it happens more. I think it may be a heating issue. Updated all drivers recently with Driver Magician and double checked with Driver Booster 2. Also ran sfc /scannow and fixed 2 problems. Multiple dmp files so I'd start with the latest 2-3 since I did all that.

So, we can see that the DirectX called the adapter to acquire shared resources. But, well it kept on waiting for the resources and ultimately did not get them . This caused the system to crash.

Below is a list of 3rd party drivers present on your system -

Hi Kwall.

Uninstall Avast using Avast Uninstall Utility. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one; for a safety reason.

Due to the bugcheck code, it is difficult to discriminate the GPU hardware and the GPU driver as the probable cause. Better to be cautious for the both.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.

Using a BETA driver, you cannot expect stability; as it is still under development. It is for testing, not for daily use. And, you updated to another BETA. Not a good move.

Uninstall the BETA display driver that you have installed. Then clean up the leftover following Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling.

Then Update your ATI/AMD display driver to the latest WHQL only (13.9).
You can get it from the link in our forum, Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

Then let us know how it is running, as it is known that the game itself is problematic.

I built this PC around Dec of last year and until June 22nd, I've had 0 issues with the PC. On June 22 I had my first BSOD and since then I've had 3 more that come and go, about a week or 2 after the fact. I looked with bluescreenview and it seems my Nvidia driver is the culprit but on other crashes it's been Hal.DLL with all the same error code.

They always happen when I'm playing FFXIV and I usually have chrome open too with music or browsing on the other monitor. I've updated the Nvidia driver to the most recent and I was hoping that would fix the problem but today's BSOD proved otherwise.

Hopefully it's just something driver related and nothing major.

Over the past week I have been getting BSOD error code. I have tried uninstalling drivers, installing new ones. Rolling them back and still getting the error messages. can some one please help

I have attached the mini dump files

A:BSOD, Error Code 0x0000016 while playing FFXIV:ARR

Your Blue Screen crashes are relating to the "nvkflt.sys" file. This is an NVIDIA driver. I did some research about this particular driver and found this:
Playing video games, BSOD nvkflt.sys (if not mistaking).

VIDEO_TDR_ERROR bugcheck means that your system attempted to reset your display driver and recover from a "timeout" but failed, thus causing this crash. (apparently. not saying this is the exact reason for the crash, however.) but it does definitely look like your crash was caused by your Graphics drivers. Might I suggest updating your graphics card drivers by going to the manufacturer's website at NVIDIA.com and find your graphics card. Do make sure to uninstall (completely) your current drivers as Windows will automatically detect a display driver for your card and install it as a temporary measure. When this is done, I'd like you to restart your system and continue installing the new drivers freshly downloaded from NVIDIA.

Hello SevenForums
I've had some issues with BSODs in the past but they would be infrequent enough to not bother me. When I say infrequent I mean 0-2 times a week at max.

I currently play FFXIV regularly on my computer and have been playing it fine up till now. Ever since a patch yesterday, I have experienced several BSODs. Two of them were only 5 minutes apart. I was wondering if the forum could help me get to the bottom of this. I've never been much of a software guy when it comes to tech so I could really use some help.

I have attached my dump files below.

A:BSOD while playing FFXIV patch 3.05 (Dump files included)

You're experiencing 0x101s which are pretty difficult to diagnose. They can be down to a driver, BIOS bug or a possible hardware defect. No drivers are evident in these dumps.
Code:
CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT (101)
An expected clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor in an
MP system within the allocated interval. This indicates that the specified
processor is hung and not processing interrupts.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000019, Clock interrupt time out interval in nominal clock ticks.
Arg2: 0000000000000000, 0.
Arg3: fffff88003165180, The PRCB address of the hung processor.
Arg4: 0000000000000002, 0.
I think the first step would be to update the BIOS. The lastest version on the ASUS support page for your board is dated May 2015. Can you take that as the first step and then use the rig as normal to see if the issue persists.

Can you also boo tinto BIOS and check the values of your 3.3V, 5V and 12V rails please.

Do you monitor temperatures at all? It would be good to know your CPU and GPU temperatures at idle and under load.

I upgraded my ram today to 8 GB. I ran a memtest with 2 passes and ram was fine. Then my game was still laggy, so I installed newest driver for my ati radeon hd 5770 1 gb ddr5 graphics card. lag was gone. Was going to bed and wanted to check something on the open firefox window while game still running and got BSOD.

0x0000003B error

Quickly looking after reboot, seemed to be associated with the graphics card updated driver and not the new ram.

I have Cyberpower Gamer Xtreme 2200 with Intel i7 CPU. 64 bit windows 7 operating system. 700 watts power supply.

Have not had any problems with BSOD until tonight since I first bought the computer over a year ago and I had BSOD due to Firefox plug in.

No DMP files included in upload please try this method
We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

I've been getting a lot of BSOD's ever since I built my PC in but lately its frequency has rapidly increased It mostly happen when I alt-tab or scroll up down or zone into a new area in-game Sometimes a simple click playing [ntoskrnl.exe, rdpbus.sys, 4+ BSOD/day Wdf01000.sys] TERA/FFXI would do it too BlueScreenView shows this It stopped recording new BSOD dumps for some reason This might not be related but I've also been having driver issues ever since I built the PC Whenever I shutdown restart BSOD my PC several USB connected devices get a yellow quot flag quot in the Device Manager and I have to uninstall them one by 4+ BSOD/day playing TERA/FFXI [ntoskrnl.exe, rdpbus.sys, Wdf01000.sys] one then restart my PC one more time to get my USB devices working again such as headset PS controller USB connected using offline motioninjoy drivers While those devices are down my wireless keyboard and mouse still work though despite being connected via a USB bluetooth dongle so not all devices stop working This problem is particularly annoying because I have to through this tedious process every time I BSOD and it usually happens in in - successions meaning I'll BSOD while playing - gt reboot - gt uninstall drivers so I can get my devices to work again - gt reboot - gt BSOD within minute - gt rinse and repeat til stable at least until the next BSOD which normally occurs within - hours What should I do

A:4+ BSOD/day playing TERA/FFXI [ntoskrnl.exe, rdpbus.sys, Wdf01000.sys]

Your BSOD's are dated 13-Apr-2013 which were probably caused by: MotioninJoy simulate Xbox 360 controller (virtual Xinput device)

I would suggest to check for an update on this devices software, if not temporarily uninstall and see if that stops the BSOD's.

I only get them while playing FFXIV. One of my fans is out on video card , so i have been running the game at the lowest settings and running MSI Afterburner to keep the one fan on almost max speed while keeping an eye on the card temp. The most recent BSOD happened with the card at only 73degrees.

There is a zip of all dumps included.

Edit: I am assuming the BSOD is related to the card over heating , but I do not know how to tell for sure or confirm that. Can anyone here confirm these crashes are from my card overheating?

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.

You are highly overclocked.

A:Random dc from FFXIV

Certainly is something going on as a lot of people have the same issue. And only on PC, not PS.

One thing I saw was someone capped their FPS to 30 and seems to have worked. I haven't played FF online since FFXI and that was about 6 years ago.

EDIT: looks like PS users are also having issues.

I'm very PC retarded and never had any problems installing a game, but for some reason I continue to get the same error when trying to install Final Fantasy XIV. Picture given below is what the error message says.
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/ll78/Xp3rt1se/FFXIVerror2.jpg

If you have any suggestions on how to fix this or know a solution it would be a big help.

A:FFXIV: Error on Installation

that error is common when there is a corrupt installation package or damaged install disk, if it's a disk try cleaning it, if it's straight from the HD then you may be a bit out of luck, try running it on another pc and if it fails then you need a different copy of that installer m8.

I get BSOD whenever I am on my computer for 6 hours or over, watching a video and playing a game, or while playing gmod in general. My comp specs are on my profile as best as I could get. My computer runs 68C 26% fanspeed when not playing any games and gets as hot as 86C when playing games.
and my graphics card is up to date.

some of the BSODs were like memory management or time management or something.

Here is my SCF/scannow

A:BSOD playing too long, watching a video and playing a game or gmod

Hello and welcome foodwrap Mate you mentioned memory management was brought up.

Now two things you can do here is
a) reseat the sticks

b) run a memtest if the reseating doesn't have any effect

You will need to make a bootable disk for the memtest and set the BIOS to boot from the optical drive then insert the memtest disk and Save and > Enter.

Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

The machine will boot into the memtest program - no OS is loaded and it will start "testing" the RAM
Now you need to let it run for at least 8 passes unless you start to get red errors straight away.
The test takes quite while and sometimes people run it overnight.

But do the reseat first and have a look to see if any crud is down in the slots. You can take this chance to have a quick once over of the machine for dust etc

See pics for what it will look like when you run the memtest if you have to.

Hi like I said on my profile I have an Alienware m x which I have had since last July The problem I have is that of uncertainty I had gotten FFXI Vana diel Collections around October of last year and I did all the installing and such which needs to be done in respect to the CD s in the package I actually played the game for about - days Then on the rd or some night I exit the game shut down my computer and go to bed The next morning I tried to turn on my laptop and it didn t turn on at all I went through a long process of trying to figure out what the guy on the Alienware tech service was telling me through the phone I m a computer noob and nothing worked so finally he asks me to mail it to them After waiting about weeks I get it back and all I see is the paper saying they are sorry about the laptop and that the motherboard was replaced Now the thing I said about uncertainty is that I m not sure why the motherboard on my laptop would be replaced much less how it gets killed or in other words how it gets damaged I ant someone to tell me if the cause of the motherboard being broken was because of me playing FFXI on the laptop or not And maybe it is this but are there types of configurations I m supposed to make to my laptop before I play any game How do I know what to do and isn t my laptop supposed to be already setup to play anything I want as long as it runs on Windows on with FFXI Help m17x Vista Help with FFXI on m17x Can someone please give a thorough answer to boost my knowledge nbsp

A:Help with FFXI on m17x

I can't really give you a thorough answer, but I can tell you that playing FFXI and having your motherboard damaged right after was probably a coincidence. As long as you have an os (in your case vista), the latest drivers for your hardware, and all of it is working you shouldn't have to do any other configuration (besides the ingame stuff, video, controls, etc).

Hello, as we all know, FFXI does not work on Vista.... I did some research and figured out something that may work though. It was a download that edited FFXI to work on Vista. It didn't ='(. It made FFXI go wierd. when I start up my playonling veiwer...all i can see is the letter 'A' instead of all other letters, if any letters show up where they should be at all. When I try to start FFXI, as I know how to do without reading the words as I am a player, it gives an error message. Of course I cannot read the message because NO letters will show. not even 'A'. I am running Vista RC1 Build 5600

Thnx in advance!

Whenever I start POL, it works fine. When I click "Play" it fades like it's about to boot up FFXI, but it reloads POL like I just logged out of the full screen mode. Any help is very much appreciated.

I'm running Home Premium x64, if that's of any use. And I've downloaded the US patch

Sorry don't know what POL or FFXI is but I am sure someone will lend a hand.

PLEASE HELP!
Ok so my old computer crashed so I bought a new one with Vista. Now I can not run Final Fantasy XI anymore. It will not let me open the play online viewer. It says Error 20008003 and displays the message, Can not run on this operating system. Now other people have gotten the game to work using vista only I can not. I have the Vana'deil collection set. I have tried running it in administration mode... I have tried installing each file one at a time. Still no luck. I am running out of Ideas. Has anyone had these same problems. And if so did you get it to work. I would really appreciate any information that you can tell me. Thank you so much!

A:VISTA vs. FFXI

I don't use Vista nor play that game but I would think that the game is not compatible with Vista as it is new. Check to see if there is a compatability mode as there is in XP.

I have a question. It says we have a 30 day free trial on FFXI. So if I give my Visa/Mastercard info, it won't take the monthly fee out until 30 days later right? Because I definatley don't wanna be caught where even if they say 30 day trial they still take money out right when I give them the info. Because there are times where I can be well over and some times close to rock bottomI

A:FFXI Question (please help)

That is correct. What most MMORPG's do is they take your cc#, verify that it is valid and then you will not see a charge until the end of your trial period.

Hello

A few weeks ago I mounted a new hard drive that had data recovered from a damaged one. And since then I've been getting blue screens almost everyday. Prior to that the machine was working fine.

I did not notice a specific time for it to happen, but generally when I am playing "Heroes of Newerth" and have other applications opened BSOD strikes.

I use Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Internet Security.

Please advise, and thank you.

This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.

A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint. Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress. You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try: Stop 124 - What it means and what to try

A:BSOD playing WoW/Playing music, error SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEP

Is there any particular reason that you are not using UEFI or Secure Boot?
In general this model comes with UEFI and Secure Boot enabled.

Have you set the time and time zone on your system? (the flag on your profile says Minnesota, but the time is set to Pacific Daylight time).

The system also comes with a 1 tB HDD, but now has an SSD installed - did you have someone install the SSD and move the operating system for you? (We do this at work quite often - normally we do it by cloning the hard drive to the SSD).

I'd suggest running a memory diagnostic, as one of the memory dumps has an error that is suggestive of memory problems (hardware): Memory Diagnostics You may also want to run the free hardware diagnostics from here: Hardware Diagnostics

Beyond that, I'd suggest visiting the Asus website and updating ALL of the drivers there.
To start with, go by the dates on the drivers in the memory dump that I've listed below.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Hi Guys,

I have issues with my desktop. I randomly get the bsod (kernel data inpage error). I thought it started after I installes the new ATI drivers. So I tried older drivers but without any result. After that I thought it was an issues with Win 7 64bit. So I installed 32bit. But still I get the bsdod.

can you please help?

Win 7 32 bit
oem original
hardware about two years old.
I have a new installed os.The old one started giving trouble after 2 years.

A:BSOD randomly after playing games or playing movies )

SP1 isn't installed, please do the following:

Quote:
Installing Windows 7 Service Pack 1
1. Visit the PC manufacturer's website and update ALL drivers. DO NOT use Windows Update or the "Update drivers" function of Device Manager.
2. Check Device Manager for any unknown/disabled devices - if there are unknown/disabled devices, fix them with the latest drivers from the device manufacturer's website (not the PC Manufacturer)
3. Visit Windows Update and get all updates (may take repeated visits)
4. Visit Windows Update and get Service Pack 1 (usually under Important Updates). Read these notes for installing SP1: Steps to follow before you install Windows 7 SP1 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 from the Microsoft Download Center
5. Visit Windows Update and get any other available updates. May take repeated visits, but keep it up until you get several "Windows is updated" results.
If you're having difficulties with installing a Service Pack, please use the SURTool from this link: What is the System Update Readiness Tool?
Also, check out this troubleshooting link from Microsoft: Troubleshoot problems installing Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

I have had limited success in installing updates/Service Packs when using a "clean boot". I suspect that I'm just bypassing the problem - and that it can come back to bite me in the butt later on.

You have an 802.11n USB Wireless LAN Card. Win7 doesn't like these devices. They will rapidly spit out BSOD's if using Vista-era drivers. Here's my rant about these devices:

Quote:
I do not recommend using wireless USB devices. Especially in Win7 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 - and using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems.

Quote:
Please uninstall all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
Then, download and install a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Uninstall". Reboot for changes to take affect.

Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

STOP 0x7A specifically refers to a problem with a missing Service Pack ( BSOD Index )
The c000009d parameter means DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED
And the memory dump suggests that there might be a hardware problem with the hard drive.
Just to be sure, please run this free hard drive diagnostic: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure

Microsoft Security Essentials dynamic driver showed up in the memory dump. I'd suggest:
- downloading a fresh copy
- uninstalling the current copy
- installing the freshly downloaded copy and IMMEDIATELY updating it
- perform a full system scan.

I've been having a problem with FFXI freezing sporatically. I'll be playing and it will randomly freeze for about a minute and then go back to normal. I've checked my wireless router and card, not a problem there (switched over to LAN and it still froze). I've reformatted my hard drive twice, got the latest drivers for everything, and yet it still is freezing. My comp stats are more than enough for this game. The only thing I have to go on is when the game freezes the CPU spikes at 100%. Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

Anyone know any solutions? I know its not my hardware because I was able to run FFXI without this glitch in the same laptop. Any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I have an intel core 2 duo E6550 on a 975X intel board running windows XP home. I have a radeon HD 2600 XT video card, 2GB of RAM. I have had no problems when using this system for the past 4-5 months. I recently installed Final Fantasy XI Online to play with some old friends again and shortly after logging into the game it will freeze, crash my system and give me a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error and the bug code or whatever is 0xD1 (not sure what that means exactly) but I've read some other forums, I've disconnect USB devices, increased my pagefile size, updated drivers and ran memory checks. Nothing I have done has seemed to help in the least and I was wondering if there was something I missed. Anyone?

I recently re-installed FFXI on my machine in hopes of starting to play again, but the playone viewer gives me an error and wont launch. The error is -

error code = 20008001
DirectX 8.1 or later not installed. Please install DirectX from your playonline disc.

The problem is that the diagnostic tool in the playonline disc recognizes the fact that I have DirectX 9, as does my dxdiag and every other game works fine. I've seen a few other people have this exact error number but I havent seen any answers to it. Anybody know what this means? What can I do? Etc?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi, I've been trying to use my d-link router to play an online game "Final Fantasy XI" on my playstation 2. I can connect but after 15 minutes or so I get disconnected, saying the DNS server is timed out/shutdown etc. I've tried to port forward, static IP etc. but I must not be doing or inputting some information correctly. So, please any info and help would be very appreciated.

I updated my graphics drivers (properly) and installed DirectX; situation doesn't change. Any ideas? Tech Support is closed at this time, so I figured I'd give this place a shot as it's helped me in the past with a previous problem. Thanks!

The error that shows up involves setting my color quality to 32 bit. the trouble is that it is already set to that, so i don't know whats making this error come up.

P.S. I have just recently installe dnew RAM that is 100% percent compatable with my machine. Before i got this RAM i was unable to play Half-Life 2, now however i sail through it with no trouble what so ever.

I'm trying to run the FFXI Benchmark program (for Final Fantasy XI...). I'm using an eMachine T2385, which seems to be pretty up-to-date on the technologies. I updated my DirectX, upgraded my graphics driver... made sure I wasn't running any programs that weren't absolutely neccessary to free up as much memory as possible...

Nothing seems to work. The program SEEMS to load fine at first, but then I get an error when I actually try to start the bench mark thing.

Oh, right, the error.

Says SOMETHING like:

"err code=2001
Hardware TnLを認識MォませんMオた。
というエラーが出て先に進めません。"

I can't really confirm the Japanese part.

If my video card (Intel Extreme Graphics AGP) is bad... is there a way to switch it? Are eMachines upgradable like that?

Or should I just give up, and go back to playing Solitare...?

A:FFXI Benchmark Thingy

FFXI requires a video card, and what you have is an Integrated video chipset. Sorry. :x

Check http://www.pricewatch.com for video cards. Since your computer is an eMachines, I'm guessing it lacks an AGP slot.. so look for a PCI video card.

Well, I know that it doesn't add itself to the startup so I'm assuming you did?

Check two places: Start > Programs > Startup. If its there, delete it.

If not, go to Start > Run > type MSCONFIG. Under Startup tab, look for the PlayOnline entry. Uncheck it.

Hey guys, i've been having really bad lag spikes on ffxi recently that eventually crash my computer. I have a toshiba P105 sattelite and it's a laptop, so needless to say it has a very crappy video card(integrated chipset) but before i reformatted my computer it was running ffxi fine. I've since had to reformat because of a virus and this time around i installed SP3 and some anti virus software. But now when i log onto ffxi it will be fine for about 5 minutes then it will start getting jerky and eventually my whole computer will lag to the point where it just crashes and i have to reboot. I don't know what could be causing this since I have taken SP3 off and deleted some of the anti virus programs, any ideas?

A:need advice on what to do next with failed download of ffxi please

Welcome to TSG!!

Why are you downloading disc's of FFXI?..
Shouldn't it come with the install disc's?

Or by "download" you mean Install?

Is the disc dirty, or any visible scratches?

Sorry I never played it, so I'm just asking.
I can keep researching it but I just need to clear up that first stuff...

Hi, I'm new here, and you're probably the 5th forum I've tried for help. I'm sure that someone here will be able to help me, so here's my problem (If you don't mind, I'm just gonna copy and paste it here)

FFXI is frustrating me with this. I get to 100% on the install, and then it gives me an error that reads:"Error 1305. Could not verify C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\FFXiMain.dll. Please verify that the file exists and that you can access it."

So I go through that path, and lo-and-behold, it's there! I clicked retry, but it still gave me that error, what should I do?

A:Video game (FFXIV Beta) has stopped working

faulting module atiumdag.dll, version 8.14.10.728

assuming you have an ATI card thats a driver error (your gpu driver)

a quick google

(because that fault is ALL OVER the internet!!http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=8.1...ient=firefox-a )

tells me thats a common error and you need to upgrade your drivers to 10.8 , yours by the looks of that code are 10.7

A:FFXI (mmorpg) causing my computer to restart itself

You meet all the requirements for that game, but just barely. Have you tried updating the drivers for your graphics card? Have you got the latest patch for that game. It could be a psu issue like you say, so can you get the wattagge of your psu and the amps on the 12v rail on the psu sticker?

Hello So first of all I am not a computer wizard Some terms I might not understand as i've never had a problem like this before but i'll try to enlist as much information as possible Since last friday or so i've suddenly encountered a BSOD Now i've had them before and it was only once After a reboot it usually never happend again and everything was cool But since friday they popped up again Mainly during playing Battlefield but i've also had it happen during Dragon Ball Xenoverse I've had multiple BSOD errors which are - IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL - BAD POOL HEADER - MEMORY MANAGEMENT - SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION - APC INDEX MISMATCH Now if it were one I might've been able to pinpoint the issue but They're constantly different errors that happen Now to explain a bit more in detail how it goes So i'm just playing a match of Battlefield After minutes give or take it'll bring me to the multiple inside listed BSOD so playing games, far errors, BSOD 5 blue screen After processing whatever it has to process computer shuts down and it starts to restart At this point it will be stuck in an infinite restart loop where my monitor will not display anything as well It just says it's not connected to something which it clearly is After manually closing and rebooting i'll have to do this a few times or mess with the HDMI a little bit before I get my monitor to pop up again Once that happens I get stuck in the beginning screen where you can see your HDD SSD installed It won't go further than that unless I hit F There have been times where I had to go into BIOS and revert it to default settings as well even though I never change a thing in there but it worked Then it reboots back up as usual Very rarely i'll get an instant BSOD when it logged in but that only happens rarely Now the solutions i've been trying - Deleted graphics drivers all of them and reinstalled them Did not work - BSOD playing games, so far 5 multiple BSOD errors, listed inside Out of frustration reinstalled Windows Did not fix anything - Brought him in to a shop The BSOD's never appeared there and seemingly there's nothing wrong within the system according to him - Went BSOD playing games, so far 5 multiple BSOD errors, listed inside to my parents house to test there since I do not have a car Played games there no BSOD I BSOD playing games, so far 5 multiple BSOD errors, listed inside got the hope that maybe it was fixed but then I returned home tried it out and after or so minutes of playing Battlefield BSOD This time it gave me the IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL amp BAD POOL HEADER errors I've even been paranoid enough to think that it might be external hardware that is causing it Like my headset or speakers or SOMETHING that was different when I brought it to the shop or when I was home at my parents house Is that even possible It's good to know that i've had my current video card since release of the GTX and it never caused any sort of problem before Here are two dump errors I cannot show the others as they occured before I reinstalled Win so I do not have those dump files anymore but here are two of the most recent ones In case system specs are needed System Spec Computer type PC Desktop OS Windows x CPU Intel Core i GHz Motherboard Alienware JNH CPU Memory GB DDR MHz Graphics Card s MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX MSI I'm pretty desperate at this moment so any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks for the read

Around the th of March I was playing Smite, BCC116 atikmpag.sys & playing BSOD mentions BCC117, BSOD Smite joined a match and about half way through it I received a freeze then a BSOD This continued to happen randomly when I would play a smite match ranging from every to matches could happen near the beginning or in the middle of the game So I wouldn't ruin more games for others I attempted to fix the problem myself looking up that I had to update my GPU drivers which I do now have or uninstall them to let my pc auto install the suitable one This ended up with my PC or Radeon hardware detector not detecting the GPU so I had to system restore I also tried cleaning out my PC rig BSOD playing Smite, BCC116 & BCC117, BSOD mentions atikmpag.sys with a duster to see if my bad PC hygiene had caused heating problems but it had no affect I have used malware-bytes to detect malware and viruses but all that was quarantined seems to have had no affect I tried these solutions that I see everywhere when I search but obviously they didn't work So instead of finding a solution I attempted to find more symptoms I found that within the blue screen it mentions atikmpag sys I see that my PC problem reports tell me that I have a lot of Windows shutting down and Video hardware errors With the BCC codes BCC and BCC respectivly I also attempted to see if I would gain the BSOD by testing on more strenuous games and didn't gain any BSOD whilst playing Dark Souls and Batman Arkham Knight thus so far I have concluded that this BSOD seems Smite specific though this could do with some further testing So now I have given up in attempting to fix it by my self and have joined the Sevenforums in an attempt to fix this problem and get back to the game I enjoy I hope I have successfully attached the zip file correctly but if I haven't or some other files are needed or if I haven't applied a forum rule by accident please mention it To test whether a solution has worked or not I will have to play many smite matches so it may take a while before whether I can reply confirm whether the BSODs are gone or not

The system just bsod while watching video on chrome. The bluescreen was locked with a sound repeated in background. It did not restart itself as is normal.

I have recently updated my video drivers and I believe all other drivers to be current. I recently ran memtest 86+ for 7 full passes with no errors, but it could still be the memory as the modules are new(about a month).

Ignore the old minidumps as they are the result of tweaking/overclocking my system. The dump of interest is from today and is attached separately from jcgriff.

Unfortunately the most recent was inconclusive. We can do some testing while waiting for the next one. Most often it is memory or driver related.

Please run these two tests.

1-Memtest.

*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

2-Driver verifier

Quote:
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Good Afternoon,

In the past couple of months, I've had multiple instances of BSOD and have tried to solve on my own; but to no avail, I have been unsuccessful and I am now here.

Here's the BSOD messages that I have seen:

Hi Guys,

Upgraded the parts to my computer around the 20th of December, and been having issues since, i have tried diagnosing the problem myself, re-installed my OS about 10 times now with different installation methods.

I am having so many issues it would be crazy trying to list them all, i will upload the files that the tool created and if you need any further information i will do my best to answer.

I upgraded my RAM, Mobo and CPU in the upgrade.

Please see attached.

Hey, so I was playing SWTOR and I got the BSOD. It has occurred several times in the past day. Here is the information.

I have run memtest already and have had 0 errors. I have all my drive up to date. I also reformatted my computer-NOT REPAIR, but FULL WIPE.

I have attached information via the instructions in thread.

Thank you for your time.

A:BSOD playing SWTOR, BSOD error SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (0x0000003b)

The crash dump blames hardware.

Re run these tests again

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

errors might be detected after 7 passes

Do this overnight

Also

Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95

Hello guys Problem started quite recently I bought a new computer a month ago and everything was cool until it started giving me MANY BSODs affter one intitial BSOD while playing League Of Legends After a first crash Windows asked during boot playing while BSOD reinstalling Win7 LoL, BSOD when avast!, affected if i want to run a recovery utility and each time I said yes it would BSOD at the end of the scan It would continuously crash until I ignored the recovery options and asked to start as normal This would give me a little bootloop consisting of two or three BSODs and then boot properly This whole thing BSOD while playing LoL, affected avast!, BSOD when reinstalling Win7 happened a few times around five I would say and today avast popped up saying it wouldn't run in background or something I tried resolving the issue but i would go back to a red error state instantly After uninstalling avast rebooting and trying to reinstall I had a nasty series of crashes in the middles of the installation and a huge bootloop with a blue screen each BSOD while playing LoL, affected avast!, BSOD when reinstalling Win7 time I decided to send BSOD while playing LoL, affected avast!, BSOD when reinstalling Win7 this all to hell and restore my computer to a restoration point which resulted in a long tedious procedure and an error message at the end At this point being pretty pissed ans wanting blood I decided to reinstall Windows Silly me I used the same CD exactly which worked when I just bought the PC and this time when I asked to boot from the CD i got a black screen for five minutes followed by a blue fatal error Tried many times each failed Right now i'm checking the hard drive with HD Tune and will run an overnight scan of RAM with memtest but i have a strong suspicion it's gonna give me another BSOD as soon as I try to boot from USB I am absolutely lost here If even reinstalling windows doesn't work what do I have to do I did not touch the BIOS in any way and first time I installed Windows with problems Help me please I am adding the dumps in attachement zip and can provide logs from WhoCrashed if needed Says something about ntfs sys aswndisflt sys which is an avast file and ntoskrnl exe

Tenyoriu, I'll try to help with your problems. You have 3 dump files and from all of the errors I see, you seem to have some problems.

I am just going to show you a few of them. I could probably fill up the page with code, which I doubt means much to you. But, then I am going to give you a list of several things to do. I only ask that you read the instructions carefully and follow them. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of what the main issue is.

I know you said you uninstalled Avast, but it and the next one appear in every dump file.

A:BSOD troubles seem to be while playing games - different BsOD codes

Hello, tbrown26. I will try to help you with this.

None of your dump files were overly definitive, as usual. The first thing I would like you to do is fill out your system specs in detail. Sometimes we have to look up a component and Manufacturer and model number helps us to do that.
Please fill out your System Specs

   Information
Your System Specs will help us to help you, and doing it in this manner will make them available to all helpers in every post and keep us from hunting for them. We ask that you fill them out in as much detail as possible including Desktop or Laptop, Model number if it is an OEM computer and all components with the Manufacturer and Model number if possible.

If you will go to your last post and click the 'System Specs' in the bottom left of the post, you will find a link to update your system specs. Please fill those out in as much detail as possible, making sure to click save at the bottom of the page. If you would like to know what we would like, you can click 'My System Specs' at the bottom left of this post to see mine. If you do not know what your components are, this will help you accomplish this task. System Info - See Your System Specs

After completing that please open a elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

No Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 70 to 140 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Don't worry about the specific number, it's just important that you have checked and installed any updates that were available (and didn't experience any errors).

You have a 802.11n USB Wireless LAN Card:

I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win8/8.1 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7 and later systems - using older drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have the latest Win8/8.1 drivers - DO NOT use older drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

This device is disabled. Is this deliberate? If so, why?

Multiple Card Reader USB Device USBSTOR\DISK&VEN_MULTIPLE&PROD_CARD__READER&REV_1.00\058F63666438&0 This device is disabled.

Please enable the device and then ensure that it's drivers are fully updated to the latest, Win8.1 compatible version. Then feel free to disable it again if you'd like.

Out of 14 memory dumps there were 8 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- dirt/dust/hair/fur/crud inside the case. Blow out the case/vents with canned air (DO NOT use an air compressor or vacuum as they can cause damage to the system)
- missing Windows Updates
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers), older systems, or even pirated systems
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

Please get a head start on the hardware diagnostics - they are located here: Hardware Diagnostics

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

NOTE: these symptoms were from the previous release of OverDrive. The new release uses the same driver name, but is dated from 4 November 2013.

Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure - Sysnative Forums

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install".

Please uninstall Speedfan as it's drivers date from 2012

I was playing Skyrim and then I hit Esc to go do something and then when I came back to my PC and sat down to play again it BSOD. Its BSOD before but I fixed it by unistalling Windows 7 and reinstalling it. Its been almost a year with out a BSOD. Now its BSODing randomly and sometimes one after another within 2-20min. I replaced my RAM in the past and that helped and also my Graphics card in the past. Im thinking it might be my graphics card. I noticed they stopped making it recently so maybe they stopped with updates too. I don't know. Just want to get my PC running smooth again.

Windows 7 Home premium 64bit OEM original install

Recently while gaming I've been experiencing BSODs and on the blue screen it'll say something about DPC. I'm not sure what's causing this and in reliability moniter it'll usually have something about Windows failing a bugcheck a minute or so before the BSOD the bugcheck states:

A:BSOD Various BSOD's whlst playing games/other tasks

Hi Aviraj & Welcome to the forums ^_^,

I have analysed your dump files and below has been provided an analysis of the same for informative purposes :-
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints the driver/function that caused the problem.
Let's check the stack -

Code:
7: kd> knL
# Child-SP RetAddr Call Site
00 ffffd002`01ea7970 fffff801`ae339456 nt!KxWaitForLockOwnerShip+0x12
01 ffffd002`01ea79a0 fffff801`ae2e2280 nt!MmZeroPageThread+0xc36
02 ffffd002`01ea7b80 fffff801`ae360fc6 nt!PspSystemThreadStartup+0x58
03 ffffd002`01ea7be0 00000000`00000000 nt!KiStartSystemThread+0x16

So, we see that the system was waiting to get a lock on a resource but sadly it was not fulfilled and hence the system crashed . Sadly, the dump file failed to capture the culprit in this case.

Below is a list of 3rd party drivers present on your system -
