Preferred Solution: BSOD when starting Minecraft

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

We need to know more about your display/graphics environment. upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.
And if it is that old that it is appearing, better you dont play those games those are crashing there.

Hello,

My friend had a lot of problems with minecraft lately and he litterly tried almost everything, but nothing helped. So I decided to make a account here. So, his problem:

When he starts minecraft he immediately gets a bluescreen. He can run any other game ( LoL, Battefield 3 ) perfectly fine. He has updated all his drivers and stuff so we have no idea what the problem is...

Specs:

Windows 7 Ultimate, 32bit ( retail and installed 2 months ago )
Hardware is around 1 year old.
AMD Phenom II X4 955
ATI Radeon 58xx HD
4gb ram

I will add the dump files tommorow because I don't have acces to his computer atm

Thanks in advance

Hello. I just bought this PC a few days ago and it randomly crashes, sometimes when I am playing FTB Monster, and sometimes when I am doing nothing at all. I noticed something about an ATI driver and tried to update the driver, but it says it is already updated. Thanks for taking a look at this ahead of time.

Update:

Well I did alot more reading and screwed around with the bios settings and I think my PC wasn't using the onboard video. Only problem is now I can't get modded minecraft to load properly. I'll post back here again if I crash again.

Hello SevenForums I put Minecraft on a clean install of Windows Professional x and proceeded to fire it Minecraft BSOD playing while up for a bit of fun The game ran for about a minute and froze up the screen had red quot squiggly quot lines about it for about - seconds then it moved to BSOD stating something about a video driver I checked to ensure I had the latest drivers for my vid card which I didn't at the time and updated BSOD while playing Minecraft it The same thing happened after firing it up again it lasted about a minute and crashed in the same manor I will admit that I'm not a professional myself when it comes to drivers so perhaps I updated it wrong didn't remove the previous version properly before updating or perhaps I didn't do something else Anyway system specs As stated OS Windows Professional x build - only OS on this drive ever and is the full retail version CPU AMD Phenom Quad-Core Processor GHz Motherboard MSI GT-E Memory GB x GB -Pin DDR SDRAM DDR PC Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GT Hard drive Seagate Barracuda Really don't know if this is overkill or not but there it is This system to me is older than I would like to be running but the motherboard had to be replaced a few months back why I'm stuck with the MSI board as the old one killed over on me I have attached the BSOD information I got from Windows NT BSOD and perfmon report information to this post Thanks in advance for any insight to this problem Gorgatron

I checked to ensure I had the latest drivers for my vid card (which I didn't at the time) and updated it. The same thing happened after firing it up again, it lasted about a minute and crashed in the same manor. I will admit that I'm not a professional myself when it comes to drivers, so perhaps I updated it wrong (didn't remove the previous version properly before updating) or perhaps I didn't do something else?

Anyway, system specs:

As stated OS: Windows 7 Professional x64 build 7600 - only OS on this drive ever and is the full retail version.

CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 Quad-Core Processor 2.6GHz

Motherboard: MSI 785GT-E63

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT

Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda

...Really don't know if this is overkill or not, but there it is. This system (to me) is older than I would like to be running but the motherboard had to be replaced a few months back (why I'm stuck with the MSI board) as the old one killed over on me.

I have attached the BSOD information I got from Windows NT6 BSOD and perfmon /report information to this post.

Thanks in advance for any insight to this problem,

Do you have another antivirus or internet security software installed? If yes, then please remove it and replace with Microsoft Security Essentials to see if it provides more stability. Uninstallers (removal tools) for common antivirus software. Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes are recommended from a strict BSOD perspective. They do not cause blue screens on the system as other AV products do.

Downloaded mine craft a little over a week ago, and the computer has been BSOD-ing me ever since. Mine craft itself was crashing, but now the computer crashes. The computer will be fine, and when you come back to the computer, say after dinner, the screen will be up saying that it recovered from a crash. I was searching for a solution about an hour ago it BSOD'ed me while searching the web.

I did also update JAVA which was more recent than the minecraft download (a friend said minecraft ran on java so I uninstalled and reinstalled JAVA to current.

Those are the only changes since this problem started.

Hi, I have built a computer for the first time and i'm getting a lots of bsods.
It happens while i play minecraft and other games and it says MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (it isn't always memory_management but mostly).
I spent almost $2000 on all the parts and i'm almost regretting that i bought it.
I have all the latest drivers for my motherboard. Please help me someone!

A:playing minecraft and gets bsod!?

Are all the parts compatible with each other? Did you install the CPU correctly? Did you install the CPU heatsink correctly? Do you have a video card or are you using onboard video? Where did you get all of your drivers? Did you install all of the drivers?

Fill out your system specs. Click on the link in my signature to do it.

Recently I've had some issues with my computer randomly rebooting while playing Minecraft, or so I thought it was a reboot. It seems windows created a minidump file which would point at it having been a BSOD I believe.

It seems random, but when I play I'll be on for anywhere between 10 minutes to half an hour before the computer suddenly seems to reboot.

Things I have tried so far:

Updated my video card driver.
Updated Java (both 32 and 64 bit java)
Ran RegClean Pro and fixed some registry problems.
Monitored CPU and GPU heat while playing to ensure it was not an overheating issue.
Googled the problem several times with different wording, checking out various threads on similar issues. (to no avail)

So now I put myself in your hands!

Yay blue screens of death and lots of them!

They seem to be more common when I'm playing mine craft and listening to music/youtube in background. Not really sure. Just seems to be when it happens. The problem is not usually frequent but I had 3 bsod's today alone.

This computer never used to do it when I had 32 bit windows xp installed.
I have fully updated my gfx card drivers to the latest one from the website and all windows 7 updates have been installed.

New operating system is windows 7 professional 62 bit and was installed near the start of the year.

I included my dxdiag file as well as every mini dump file I've had since installing win7.

Let me know if I need to provide any more information.

A:BSOD - Minecraft and music?

Wipe your driver with this.... Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
Then download from Welcome to NVIDIA - World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies...Reboot then reinstall..

Also your next BSOD post it : http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...tructions.html

You can view your GPU temp of your VGA card using this while running your minecraft... Should not go over about 75deg.

Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Reply when ready with the post. Good luck.

My computer is a Windows 7 64bit Full Retail version.

I can't tell the age of the hardware but it's all not older than a year I would say. My OS install is about 5 months old.

System Info:
CPU - AMD Phenom II X6 1055T
RAM - 8GB Dual Channel DDR3 @ 666mhz (9-9-9-24)
Motherboard - ASUS M4N75TD (AM3)
GPU - 1024MB GeForce GTX 460 (PNY)
Harddrives - 2x Hitachi Sata drives, One 250gb other 1TB

I was playing Minecraft for a bit and then it went to a BSOD. I have the attached files in the zip below. I also notice other games like Grand Theft Auto 4 crashing at random, no BSOD on that though.

can anyone tell me how to fix this up and avoid it?

EDIT: Action Center in windows told me to fix some problem with ASUS Wireless Driver, dunno what that means.

The problem is caused by your Atheros Network driver. It's very outdated. Please download the latest version from here.

atikmdag.sys may be the cause of your problem. It is a system driver related to ATI Radeon graphics cards. Update your graphics driver from the below link.
Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7

I note that you are using either AVG or Avira anti-virus. At least to test, uninstall it and install MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) instead.
Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

Make sure all Windows updates are installed including the latest Service Pack.

my brother was playing minecraft and skyping when all of a sudden he got a bsod and the computer started to make low ratling noises like one of the fans was spinning against something. I`ve looked inside but it doesn`t seem to have any broken or damaged fans. I`ve written down the code (0x0000007E) that was after the words "stop".

The components are about 2 years old, except the GPU that is only one year of age.

OS is windows 7 ultimate x64 that I have installed myself

Hi biggs223.

Install Intel? Iris? and HD graphics Driver for Windows* 7.

I've had trouble with it bluescreening in the past and have posted a thread a few months ago hoping to resolve it but after running furmark, prime95, and memtest86+ without any problems, it looks like something is still wrong.

Please advise, thank you.

Hello there! :)
I was planning on playing Minecraft with friends and had to stop after a while because of my computer getting this so-called BSOD. The strange thing is, that it doesn't happen every time or at the exact same time:
It ranges from 45 minutes upwards, but It's not like a guaranteed BSOD.

The minecraft server software is really simple, but I don't really think that it has an impact on the BSOD occuring (Should've been the same files getting shown to me after the crashed than (At least that's what I would expect)).

I used the tool you were reffering to in the post and attached the .rar to this post.

Hope you can help me fast! :)

P.s.: If you need any kind of additional information relating to the Minecraft-Server I ran at the given occasions, simply tell me what and how I could provide you with information.

Hi,

I keep getting a BSOD randomly when on my PC. I have noticed it happening when on Skype, but it has also happened while playing minecraft so I don't know. I am a first time PC builder and have only had my PC for 2 days, and it has only started this today. When the BSOD flashes up, it says something about a hardware failure. I have run memchecker a couple of times and have passed.

Any help would be much appreciated and I have attached my dump files

Thank you in advance,

Sam

Hey all,

I've recently encountered an issue with my computer where, while playing Minecraft, the last played sound will glitch out and play repeatedly, the screen will turn black, and then my computer reboots. There is no BSOD or official error, so I'm having a hard time tracking down the source of this problem, and would love some help fixing it.

This error is only encountered while playing Minecraft. I play it vanilla, without mods, so it's not a mod issue. I only recently started playing the game, but this issue appears to come up nearly every time I play. I play other hardware-intensive games like Team Fortress 2 and Fallout 3, so I feel like it isn't really a hardware issue, but I'm open to all suggestions!

Thanks a lot for the help!

Looking at your bugcheck it's likely that a memory corruption event was triggered. Though a driver could be causing the memory to be borked, but we're usually suggesting a memory test before moving forward. Do a scan with Memtest86+. Memtest is a scanner that'll check your sticks for errors.

   Warning
Note that the below instructions may break your WARRANTY rules. If you're unsure check manuals, separated warranty papers, stickers on computer for secure permission.

To ensure that we'll know if it's the slots on the motherboard that's broken, or the sticks itself - we have a little procedure we'll recommend. Remove 1 stick, scan the other with Memtest in the current slot. After 7 passes, move the stick to another slot and scan, and so on and so forth until you've scanned all the sticks, and all the slots, one by one.

Hi and welcome

Of your 28 crashes only one points towards your video subsystem. The majority are various software complaints that I think points towards your Symantec

If I were you I would start by removing and replacing it with Microsoft Security essentials at least to test.

http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_...080710133834EN

Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

I would also run System file check
Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

It may need to be run up to three times before sucessful

Read here for more information SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Let us know the results from the report at the end.

AND I would run the update readiness tool and then update to SP-1>

I have 6 gigs of ram, and have allocated 3.75 of those to feed the beast. I recently change it from something else, which I can't quite remember off the top of my head. Anyways, here is the BSOD dump, and I hope I did it right.

Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes are recommended from a strict BSOD perspective. They do not cause blue screens on the system as other AV products do.

error 0x116

I am unsure what to add here....I start Feed the Beast Minecraft Mod Launcher. I load into Minecraft. I then try to play and it can last an hour or 3 hours and as short as 60 seconds before I get that BSOD.

I attached the pics of BSOD. I also attached the required items/logs.

I have done a clean install of my GTX 560 Ti Video Card driver and confirmed it was the latest recommended build. I have performed a complete uninstall of Java and Feed the Beast. Odd thing is my buddy who I built his computer for has the same video cards and Windows 7 Pro. He has no issues so my troubleshooting skills are not being fruitful.

How can I assist this process more?

not sure what happened. i was on ventrilo, playing music in itunes, and playing minecraft all at the same time. my buddy had just told me about some kind of file update for minecraft i should do because since i've been on today (~1hour) minecraft would freeze for a split second, and then continue. it happened 3 or 4 times, then the bsod.

system specs are up to date. new SSD 1 month ago, system build as a whole is ~6months old to ~3years some parts.

A:BSOD playing LoL and minecraft, BCPcodes and other information inside

These crashes were caused by memory corruption/exception (probably a driver).
Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

* If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!

* If you have Raid update its Driver.

Memtest.

Quote:
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Driver verifier

Quote:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Special Pool", "Force Pending I/O Requests" and "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen.
Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly.
The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out.
If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation.

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

Hi.

Installing and Using 2 antivirus programs in the same system, usually you dont have double protection. You have double the problems.

Remove avast from your system.
Remove avg from your system.
Download and install Microsoft Security Essentials with windows firewall enable.
You can also use this Good and Free system security combination.
If you had make any changes in windows using TuneUp Utilities, set everything back to default then uninstall TuneUp Utilities.
Generally TuneUp Utilities they dont "tuneup" the system, they mess up the system.
Windows 7 does not need any "external" help.
Update software\driver for your Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter - Dell Wireless 1390 WLAN Mini-Card.

http://www.broadcom.com/support/

Finish with the above steps and post back with news.

Also Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type ?msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the ?Startup? tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.

I have been trying to fix a crash problem with Minecraft and got a few random BSOD when uninstalling\reinstalling Java and Drivers. My wife says that the computer was already unexpectedly shutting down before this.

Memtest86 will test your RAM

   Information

Run Memtest86 for at least 8 passes so we get enough information to confirm that your RAM isn't failing

Run a Disk Check to scan for errors

   Note

Afterwards go into an Elevated Command Prompt (Run as administrator) and type in sfc /scannow
If it finds errors reboot and run the scan two more times

Run SeaTools to see if your HDD or SSD is failing

The computer and OS are just a few days old, put together on friday.
Basically when i run anything slightly intensive, such as youtube or video games, i end up BSoD. Its a new computer but i don't have any idea what could be causing this. I ran hard drive and memory scans but nothing came up.

Crashes are blaming hardware (they say "hardware"), but I'm not sure which piece of hardware it is.

If you say it happens under load, maybe it is PSU?

1. Memtest86 - Run for 7-8 passes - RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Hi.

Try to run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker you may need to run it 2-3 times to "fix" everything.
Then run RAM - Test with Memtest86+
In case you are not able to run sfc because of frequent bsod start from the memtest.

Finish and post back with any results.

My machine is a custom built gaming rig and is a little over a year old March Up until a couple months ago I had no problems with it randomly rebooting But as the title says recently it has been randomly shutting playing Random when WoW, VLC videos Minecraft, watching reboot/BSOD down and starting back up approx seconds later while using it no BSOD or warning beforehand -- simply instantly shutting down waiting a few seconds then booting up again all without my invoking it It has happened a small number of times when doing light computer activity browsing web typing up a document and a couple times when I've left it running while away Random reboot/BSOD when playing WoW, Minecraft, watching VLC videos It mostly happened when playing Minecraft or watching some TV shows in VLC Player Family Guy not anything HD activities that are not very strenuous for the computer This computer was built for gaming and has been used for such with lots of time put into Guild Wars Random reboot/BSOD when playing WoW, Minecraft, watching VLC videos Battlefield Random reboot/BSOD when playing WoW, Minecraft, watching VLC videos and plenty of other power-hungry games that it was built to withstand all without any of the random rebooting problems I was beginning to get very frustrated because the Event Viewer showed no detailed information whatsoever As the only option my technologically intermediate mind could think of I opened my machine's case and dusted the heck out of it with a can of compressed air and checked all connections to make sure they were firm fastened and secure That seemed to cure it for a few weeks A couple weeks back I began play World of Warcraft and have been fairly heavily since then several hours per day The few weeks before that after cleaning my machine there had been maybe one or two random shutdown reboots In fact up until this evening it seemed to be running fine in general But sure enough I was in the middle of playing WoW tonight and the computer unexpectedly shut down and rebooted a few seconds later Thinking it was a fluke after it finished booting I started up WoW again and a few minutes later it shut down a second time I did some googling and came upon this post instructing usage of the driver verifier to see if it can cause some sort of BSOD or dump file the green text in said post because the random shutdown reboots that have been happening did not produce any sort of BSOD or dump files Following what that post said I used the driver verifier and after rebooting a few seconds into showing the desktop a BSOD appeared and got stuck on the quot initializing disk for crash dump quot part never rebooting or going past that after - minutes long enough for me to take a photo of it This leads me to believe there is a problem with one of the drivers that is causing this malfunction but I do not know how to figure out what the source of the problem is The linked photo shows this for the BSOD error message copied from the photo so I hope it's correct Quote STOP x C x xFFFFF xFFFFF E B xFFFFFFFFC BB HIDCLASS SYS - Address FFFFF base at FFFFF DateStamp d a f As per the posting instructions the DM Log Collector's resulting zip file is attached If any other files are necessary to figure out the culprit I'm all ears because I want to get this remedied ASAP It's eating into my dungeon time in WoW P Additional notes it's not an overheating problem CPU hits max C and GPU a little below that both fan cooled I have WoW capped at fps so it doesn't run too hot I have no overclocking whatsoever Quick edit I ran sfc scannow when this first started happening a few months ago and no problems were found Additionally Memtest found no problems Another quick edit after typing this up it shutdown rebooted for the third time this evening while I was doing nothing but light web browsing Any additional information needed will be added

This is my first time posting here, so my apologies if I mess something up or get it wrong. If I do, please let me know so I can fix it!
This is something that's just started happening recently. It happened once on the 14th of February, then once last night (on the 22nd), and today on the 23rd. The crash on the 14th didn't have the same screen as the last two crashes (photo attached of crash screen). I don't recall what the crash on the 14th happened during (most likely Skyrim), but the last two crashes happened during playing minecraft, typically while moving around and jumping. I have downloaded a couple of mods for the game, but was not running them when the crashes happened (the mods have a separate launcher, plus the crash occurred once before I ever played Minecraft).

I appreciate any help anyone can give me!

Your .dmp file shows a stop error of 0x124 which is a general hardware error .

Quote:
A "stop 0x124" is fundamentally different to many other types of bluescreens because it stems from a hardware complaint.

Stop 0x124 minidumps contain very little practical information, and it is therefore necessary to approach the problem as a case of hardware in an unknown state of distress

Some generic advice.

If you are overclocking STOP.
Return to the default settings at least for now.

If you are running a RAID update its driver.
You can read more on this error and what to try here... Stop 0x124 - what it means and what to try

We just got a new computer that came with Windows 10. Its an Asus K31bf. Everytime my son plays Minecraft, I get a blue screen with an error msg thread_stuck_in_disc_driver and it tries to restart the computer. Sometimes it restarts no problem, other times it will freeze on the blue screen and I have to manually shut it off and restart. I have no idea how to fix this issue. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

These were caused by a memory exception. Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.
1-Memtest.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

2-Driver verifier

Quote:
I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.

I need help with the problem, startup repair does nothing and neither does starting at last working startup.

A:BSOD on boot after "Starting Windows" BSOD on safe mode startup aswell

Hello and welcome Galore mate some system specs would be really helpful - very hard working with something one knows very little about. System Info - See Your System Specs

However at first look seems like the system is in a mess or the hard drive or other components are going south.

Now just do this if you get a boot then it might narrow the issue/s down a little and you will need toake the bootable disk on another machine.
BOOTABLE UBUNTU
Make a bootable Ubuntu disk Download Ubuntu Desktop | Download | Ubuntu
Set the BIOS to boot from the optical when the machine boots it will show you a screen with TRY or INSTALL > select TRY not INSTALL
When it is finished - it takes very little time you will get a screen like in the pic .
Open the drive you want > User and dig down until you get to the data / settings you may be able to copy / paste the material you want to an external source or other installed drive doing this.
I am not sure if it will but I have recovered tons of data etc using this method both on "dead" or just plain drives that you cannot get data from using Windows.

Just run it until you get the screen ignore the data stuff though it might come in handy later - if this will not boot then something is very wrong.

STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xBF831ED8, 0xEDAEA554, 0x00000000)
win32k.sys Address BF831ED8 base at BF800000 Datestanp 41107f7a

I'm stumped.

Note to moderator: if this is not the most relevant forum, please move it so I can get some help with this. Thanks.

From 2006 this is a Win XP driver not a Win 7 driver update the motherboard chipset drivers.

Not sure where you found the very old Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 upload instructions but they do not contain the system info so I can't tell what hard ware you are running to point you to the correct drivers.
Try this > AMD Driver Autodetect

THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER_M (100000ea)
The device driver is spinning in an infinite loop, most likely waiting for
hardware to become idle. This usually indicates problem with the hardware
itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.
If the kernel debugger is connected and running when watchdog detects a
timeout condition then DbgBreakPoint() will be called instead of KeBugCheckEx()
and detailed message including bugcheck arguments will be printed to the
debugger. This way we can identify an offending thread, set breakpoints in it,
and hit go to return to the spinning code to debug it further. Because
KeBugCheckEx() is not called the .bugcheck directive will not return bugcheck
information in this case. The arguments are already printed out to the kernel
debugger. You can also retrieve them from a global variable via
"dd watchdog!g_WdBugCheckData l5" (use dq on NT64).
On MP machines it is possible to hit a timeout when the spinning thread is
interrupted by hardware interrupt and ISR or DPC routine is running at the time
of the bugcheck (this is because the timeout's work item can be delivered and
handled on the second CPU and the same time). If this is the case you will have
to look deeper at the offending thread's stack (e.g. using dds) to determine
spinning code which caused the timeout to occur.
Arguments:
Arg1: 880db538, Pointer to a stuck thread object. Do .thread then kb on it to find
the hung location.
Arg2: 00000000, Pointer to a DEFERRED_WATCHDOG object.
Arg3: 00000000, Pointer to offending driver name.
Arg4: 00000000, Number of times "intercepted" bugcheck 0xEA was hit (see notes).

Windows 7 x64 Professional currently
None windows preinstalled when bought
Around a year ago was the last time I installed windows
All hardware except for the grafic card is around 2 years old.

System spec:
GTX 580
I7 940 2,93Ghz
Gigabyte EX58-UD3R
6 GB ram dont remember what

When I enter a game, 5-10 min after moving around I get the BSOD. This happens with games like RIFT, Starcraft 2 and Diablo III.
I had this problem around a year ago, but got it fixed by updating bios. Untill today I have never had a single BSOD, but now It started all of a sudden. I dont remember installing anything new yesterday or today.

Unless what happend a year ago is related, the dumps from 2012 should only matter.

Hope you can help me

A:BSOD starting to act up again..

Software Concerns:Security Software: ??? Make sure to install security software. I recommend either of these:Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows coupled with Malwarebytes. Do not start the free trial of Malwarebytes. Just use the standalone version, update it, and scan your computer once a week with Malwarebytes and with Microsoft Security Essentials.

Good and Free system security combination.

After installing your security software, update it, and then run full scans today with each program. Report back the results of the scans.

Analysis:One of your crashes was DirectX/graphics card related. DirectX comes installed with Windows, so this may indicate Windows corruption. It may also be that you have corrupted drivers or a graphics card hardware problem.
If you are overclocking any hardware, please stop.

Check Windows for corruption. Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker up to three times to fix all errors with a restart in between each. Post back if it continues to show errors after a fourth run or if the first run comes back with no integrity violations. Use OPTION THREE of SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker to provide us with the sfcdetails.txt file if errors occur.
Follow the steps for Diagnosing basic problems with DirectX. To re-install your display card drivers as outlined in the DirectX link, use the following steps.
Download the drivers you want for your display card(s)
Click Start Menu
Click Control Panel
Click Uninstall a program
For NVIDIA:Uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver (this should uninstall all NVIDIA software and drivers)
Restart your computer
Make sure NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver, NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player, NVIDIA HD Audio Driver, and NVIDIA PhysX System Software are not still listed under Uninstall a program through Control Panel
If any remain of the above, uninstall one at a time
If asked to restart after uninstalling any of the above, do so, and continue uninstalling any remaining NVIDIA items until all are removed

Restart your computer after uninstalling drivers for all display cards
Install the driver you selected for the display cards once Windows starts

Remember to try multiple versions of the graphics drivers, download them fresh, and install the freshly downloaded drivers.

Pls help, my computer have been getting BSODs everytime i start it up. It would then restart itself and then work just fine, just with a highly reduced frame rate. The crash dump file provided didn't do much(at least to me).

I have already tried reinstalling the display driver, the OS. None of which have solved the problem.

My operating system is windows 7,64 bit. Video card is the ATI Radeon HD 5800 Series. That is all i know for my computer.

Pls reply asap, your help will be appreciated.

A:BSOD when starting up

They are all Video TDR x0116 errors

Probably not related but older networking drivers tend to act up in the strangest ways
netr28ux.sys from 2009 Ralink RT2870 series USB802.11n Wireless Adapter Driver (you may have a different manufacturer) Ralink-A MEDIATEK COMPANY
And the wired adapter Rt64win7.sys also from 2009
Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet NIC Realtek

Video TDR (Timeout Detection and Recovery) errors can be software or hardware related, since it appears you have already tried a couple of video driver versions lets have a look at the temps and voltages .
D/L and run Hardware Monitor do something intense like a virus scan or gaming for a bit, Alt+Tab back to HWM expand all the trees and use the Win7 snipping tool to grab a screen shot of the HWM window, post the screen shot using the paperclip button in the advanced message box(Go Advanced button).

A:BSOD when starting up

Hi ArmenMM.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type ?msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the ?Startup? tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus and the keyboard driver.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Let us know the results.

Welcome!

Looks like your ATI Video card driver atikmdag.sys is causing the trouble. I suggest updating your video card drivers.

I have been getting a BSOD when i try to start MW2 as the title says. I have double checked to make sure all of my ram, gpu's are seated correctly. I have read else where that people had a problem with ATi's CCC running at the same time. The dump files (attached) point to a hardware issue, just can't figure it out. Any help would be great!

Gigabyte 790FXTA-UD5 BIOS F2, AMD Phenom 11 X4 965 (not overclocked), GSkill DDR3-1600 2 x 2GB, Seagate 7200's 1TB, XFX ATI HD5670 1GB, USB MS wireless mouse + keyboard. Installed updated drivers for XFX (10.6 series), also use Acronis True image home (build 7046), Nortons 360 ver 4

System halts at Win startup and can use repair disk to start the system. System does not fall over during the day, just will not start after being off all night?? Starts ok on shutdowns/restarts and after short off periods?? When running up the box had a few problems installing the latest version of Gigabyte's Easy Tunes 6 (still cannot get it to start), and Acronis TIH 2010 but none of these appeared major. A couple of times the keyboard has not functioned when entering BIOS but this is inconsistant at this stage.

Have run Win memtest - ok, XoftSpy - ok, ParetoLogic Drive Cure and it says all drives are up to date.

Attached files hopefully will help. Mini dump was from the other day (this file is well beyond my knowledge), I do not understand why there is no dump for todays failure to boot. Do the 'Did not load driver . ' lines in ntbtlog
Loaded driver \??\C:\Windows\system32\Drivers\SYMEVENT.SYS

indicate there is a poroblem with N360. And the line 'SYMEVENT' definately indicate is is N360)? What do the '??' indicate in ntbtlog? Also a couple of other drivers not loaded, are these a problem?

I am competent but not a IT pro - any assistance would be greatly appreciated?

Kind regards Trevor

This one was caused by your sysmantec driver. I would un-install it completely and replace it with microsoft security essentials

Guys I am having a small problem which is kind of bothering me During start up for some reason the pc bsods and restarts i cannot physically see the bsod but i notice cause the bios screen shows up twice Otherwise the PC when BSOD PC. starting is running normally no errors while running very stable even when gaming Before the upgrade to windows from windows i did use to get the occassional x weekly or BSOD when starting PC. less nvidia driver stopped working and recovered error but no real fuss since it was very rare and rarely reproducible Can someone debug the bsods and tell me what the issue is TBH I did not try anything yet although I just read issues that could be occuring with the fast-boot feature BSOD when starting PC. so I have just disabled it so I don't know if it does solve my problem Also this issue does not happen necessarily happen daily it can happen x daily when i switch on my pc x and it can not happen for a week booting x per day Any ideas Summary Issue BSOD on start up cannot visualise the bsod Things done Nothing really except for disabling fast boot but did not check if it did a difference PS Do not mention the bottle neck between CPU BSOD when starting PC. and GPU I know about it and this system is temporary until I upgrade the mobo proc etc Just decided to use it since i received it as a present with warranty passing lol

Hi, I have a BSOD problem since I updated my drivers with Live Update I guess, though it may not be related. It happens sometimes when I start windows, the windows welcome sound goes all buggy and then I have the blue screen wich can be BAD_POOL_CALLER or NON PAGED AREA. The bugged windows sound is happening for a while, but didn't crash until the update. Now the sound gets worse sometimes and is followed by a crash. Can you please help me to figure out what is causing this error?

Here's the DMP files: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AtOztlR6v9V-bx_gzUeb1A_xFHE

Thanks a lot.

I had the 7A BSOD error before but fixed it. Now I only get F4 errors and random I/O errors which forces me to shut down my computer. I can't think of anything that would cause it. All I did was download smart driver updater, installed it, and tried to download drivers but it didn't work. It said there was a problem downloading the drivers or something so I uninstalled it. Since then my computer keeps shutting off and getting F4 errors along with I/O errors. I tried reseating my RAM and it hasn't helped. Checked the HDD and nothing was wrong with it. I opened my computer maybe two weeks ago to clean out the dust but nothing happened until yesterday.

A:BSOD starting again but different BCCode

7A and F4 are the same issue, two different expressions. It is storage related. 7A BSODs explain more about the issue.

If 7A issue is fixed, F4 issue cannot be there.

Hello everyone, I am just new here and I was hoping that someone here might give me an assistance regarding my problem in this case of BSOD, It occurred to me 3 times this day and this day only. I wish to know what this BSOD means. I wanted to analyze it myself but I am noob when it comes to computer fixes.

I've attached the following 3 Mini dumps that was created.
I hope someone here might assist me through analysis and some minor fix or even
just an explanation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:BSOD Before starting Windows

Welcome
It appears that your problems stem for your video card/driver. It is usually the driver. Go to the website of your video card and update to most current version.
Click on graphics drivers and your system will be scanned and you will be given the most recent

A:Windows xp not starting, bsod

Firstly make sure all your Hp drivers are up to date: HP Drivers if it ever gets to Windows again.

But if you don't mind re-installing
Then put the Windows disc in (or use the System Recovery, if it has that startup prompt)
Boot from CD
And remove the Partition
And then allow Windows to continue installing

Yo. Every time I start my computer up I get a black screen and then it turns blue. This happens before the login screen. This started after I installed my Nvidia driver. If I disable it or remove it then my computer works fine.
Oh and Safemode works with no problems.

Hardware and OS are 8 months old

A:BSOD starting up computer

What happens if you boot into Safe Mode? To do this, rapidly tap the F8 key just before the Windows splash screen shows up.

If you can get into Safe Mode without any problems, then it should be an easy fix. If not, then we've gotta start looking at hardware.

I suspect: Norton/Symantec, AMD OverDrive, or AI Charger.
If you have a wireless USB device, I suspect that also (please let us know)

Do as much of this in Safe Mode as you can. If it still BSOD's too fast to do anything, post back and we'll stop these things from loading (with a "clean" boot) so that you can complete the removals.

Do this to rule out Norton/Symantec:

Quote:
Anti-Virus Removal:
Please do the following:
- download a free antivirus for testing purposes: Free AntiVirus
- uninstall the Norton from your system (you can reinstall it, if so desired, when we're done troubleshooting)
- remove any remnants of Norton using this free tool: http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_...080710133834EN
- IMMEDIATELY install and update the free antivirus, then check to ensure that the Windows Firewall is turned on.
- check to see if this fixes the BSOD's
NOTE: NEVER run more than 1 anti-virus, firewall, Internet Security/Security Center application at the same time.

Do this to remove AMD Overdrive:

Quote:
AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems.

Quote:
Please uninstall all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Uninstall". Reboot for changes to take affect.

Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Then just simply uninstall the AI Charger app from Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program.

If the above steps don't stop the BSOD's, please zip up and upload any new memory dumps with your next post - and we'll see what we can figure out from there.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

- Further info on BSOD error messages available at: http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html

A:BSOD After Starting up Game

Looks like hardware issue. Leaning towards CPU or RAM

If you're overclocking, stop.

Code:
AODDriver2.sys Tue Mar 06 04:55:00 2012 (4F55DEF4)
AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center.
Please uninstall the AMD OverDrive program as it can cause BSOD's on your system.
If it's the stand-alone app, uninstall it via Control Panel...Programs...Uninstall a program
If it's in the AMD VISION Engine Control Center, you can uninstall it using the AMD uninstall tool (or uninstall the entire AMD VISION Engine Control Center application through Control Panel

Please run these tests and report back the results
1. Memtest86 - Run for 7-8 passes - RAM - Test with Memtest86+
2. Prime95 - Run all three tests for 3-4 hours each or until fail - Hardware - Stress Test With Prime95
