I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello, peoples. I seem to have attained a BSoD yesterday.

The STOP Error code was "0x0000010D (0x00000005, 0x00000000, 0x00001202, 0x84E36560)".

I believe that one of the problems is MotioninJoy's DS3 Tool program and it's driver, as every time I attempt to use it, it BSOD's. I also believe that another problem is my PSU's fan, as it does not seem to be working anymore (I plan to buy a new PSU in April... Hopefully it'll last long enough til then...).

I have attached the zip file containing the system information, as per requested.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

A:BSoD Stop Error Code 0x0000010D (Iunno what the cause is...)

Hi Zero Aurion.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Also, the BIOS is very old, off 2006. The latest available one is old too, of 2009. If possible, tryto update the BIOS to the latest. BIOS Update [NT94510J.86A]

Hello. I have recently built a new PC, but since five days ago I'm getting some kind of BSOD that I cannot solve. I would like to get some help, I'm pretty clueless about PCs but I suspect it might be my Motioninjoy driver, since I use a PS3 controller on my computer.
It always happens while I'm playing videogames with my controller. Everything suddenly freezes and I get BSOD. Please give me some help, if possible with detailed instructions on what to do. Thank you very, very much.

A:BSOD, Error 0x0000010d

It appears to be a programming error. The 0x10D is enacted by a Windows Framework Library as a result of a calling program that requested I/O back-to-back. Check to see if there is an update or patch for Cubase 6 LE.

Get rid of intel rapid storage. First uninstall it from Control Panel > Programs and Features. Then Uninstall the driver from device manager.
Right click on "my computer" icon and click "manage" on the context menu.
It will open the "computer management" window.
Select "Device Manager" in the left pane, It will list all the existing devices up.
Expand "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers" by clicking on the triangle in front of it.
Select one Intel device item under it, right click, uninstall.
Continue the process for all Intel items under "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"
Now restart the computer. At restart, windows will auto configure the appropriate native system driver.
Let us know the situation after applying the suggested changes. If it bluescreens even more, post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions and upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.

Hello.
Yesterday I got my second BSOD while playing (first one was on 29.05) on a controller. It's a DualShock 3 Sixaxis, I'm using the MotionJoy driver and BetterDS3.exe. I have been using this controller for over a year and had no problems (October 2013-March 2015). I bought a new hard drive in March, so I had to reinstall Windows. Until 29.05, I had been playing without any problems. The first BSOD was during W40K: Space Marine, the second one yesterday was during The Legend of Korra. Both BSOD's had the 0x0000010D and "Driver-irql-not-less-or-equal" errors. On my previous system I never encourtered this problem. I attatched the .zip file as requested.Attachment 363022

It's preferable to enable these devices, uninstall their software/drivers, then physically remove the device from the system (or disable it in the BIOS). If that's not possible, then enable the device, update the driver software, then re-disable them.

xnacc.sys is blamed in the WER section of MSINFO32. This is a driver for your XBox controller.
The memory dumps agree with this also.
Please uninstall the XBox controller program/drivers (temporarily) and then physically remove the XBox controller from your system.
See if that stops the BSOD's
If you wish to reinstall the device, please be advised that I've recently seen issues with this device and there are no really current drivers (the drivers usually date from 2009). Should you decide to reinstall this device be aware that any subsequent BSOD's are likely to be caused by it.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

The thread title pretty much says it all. I just recently built this computer with a friend's help. I believe I have updated all my drivers and windows updates, including optional ones.

As for what the BSOD says...

The windows driver framework has detected that a violation has occurred.

I have attached the minidump file any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi I hope someone can help me with this I have been having constant BSOD crashes over the last couple of days which seem to come out of nowhere Sometimes I can use the PC fine for a few hours play a few games and browse Google Chrome and then it crashes randomly Other times I can't even get into safe mode without it crashing as soon as the desktop loads I had this problem a couple of months ago and I thought I had fixed it by updating some Etron USB drivers but despite updating them again now this problem persists My system is Windows Professional I have attached the dmp files and also a photo I took of the BSOD in case that is useful I can also acquire more files if necessary I've tried probing into it myself with BlueScreenView and it claims that Wdf sys is the culprit not sure what this means however Another thing I noticed is that when Safe Mode is loading the drivers it seems to get stuck on atipcie sys for a while I would really appreciate it if someone could get to the bottom of this Thanks

Hi l3uster.

Sincere apologies for such a belated response. I was not very active in the technical threads for a few days due to some personal reasons.

Can you uninstall the MotioninJoy simulate Xbox 360 controller (virtual Xinput device) driver, and install an earlier version? The version that you are using is crash prone; it is a very widely seen issue; and it is failing in your case, too.

Hello there,

I have been receiving a BSOD 0x0000010D error lately a few times, while playing Dragon Age: Inquisition. I'm not sure if it's a driver issue, or if it's being caused by hot GPU temps (my top SLI card maxes about 81C), or if it's a lack of power from the PSU.

Hoping it's a driver issue or something. Any help is so GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!!!

Your problem may have something to do with this reported problem:
Microsoft details Windows 7 memory leaks, hangs, freezes

Your system's problem might be how it reacts to this memory leak bug. Anything is possible, in this type of situation.

Quote:

Microsoft has been tracking some odd issues that occur on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. These bugs are not typically fixed via Windows Update, because these hotfixes should only be applied to systems that are experiencing specific problems. So if you are not severely affected by either of them, wait for the relevant service packs. Here are the four most prominent issues, listed in order of decreasing severity.

The first manifests itself when the computer crashes after it runs for some time ...

The 'hotfix' in the above article is not part of any normal 'Update', so you do not get it unless you specifically request it.

Another thing that I always try, [almost] regardless of the actual computer's failure symptoms, is a known-good power supply.

A power supply that is putting out incorrect voltages, or that has a lot of AC noise on the DC outputs, can appear as almost any problem under the sun. Even a brand-new power supply, from a reputable manufacturer, can be bad.

Power supplies today are so inexpensive, that I always have a selection of various sizes on-hand at all times (it helps that I am an OEM of custom-built computers).

Something else, that often fixes 'unstable' machines, is to [when the power is off and the computer's case is open] basically un-plug (disconnect) and re-plug (connect) all connectors, RAM (DIMM) modules, the CPU chip, etc. You should be sure to do this (un-plug and re-plug) on every connector that you can see, inside your computer.

It is surprising, how many 'weird' problems can be traced to a simple 'the connector was not fully plugged in' type of problem.

One more thing, is to make sure that your RAM size/configuration/part number, is supported by your Motherboard's 'Qualified Vendors List', or 'QVL' for short.

In ASUS Motherboard manuals, the QVL will be in the section describing how to install the RAM (DIMM) modules into the Motherboard.

For example, in the ASUS M4A79T Deluxe manual (I have 2 of these Motherboards), the QVL is in Section 2.4.2 'Memory configurations', starting on Page 2-12.

I hope this helps,
Art

Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to Optimize Windows 7.
All crashes point to PreSonus FireStudio. Recommend updating to newer drivers. If that does not help, contact the technical support for the device: PreSonus

Hello guys, im new here!

I'm experiencing a BSOD crash while playing SSF4 (used to have only at this game).

After i tried everything, I formatted, and now windows is not saving minidump files.

Before formatting I used nirsoft Bluescreenview to see what i could gather from the problem, and i found

ntoskrnl.exe
wdf01000.sys
win32k.sys (sometimes only)
mijxfilt.sys (sometimes ony too)

That's all i can remember, now whenever I have the blue screen the stop says 0x0000010D stop cause.

I've tried everything!

Any help would mean everything for me!

Hello, i downgraded the version of 7.10001 to 6.00004 (i guess something like that)
My BSOD's until now stopped, BUT i still have the controller disconnecting every round of playing SSF4 (super street fighter 4)

The controller also disconnects in FF7 (a lot lesser)

I still did not have any BSOD's yet, but i'll keep this thread updated,
Any ideas how to not disconnect controller every round?

PS: everytime it disconnects it makes the windows sounds of pulling out an USB and putting one in,
I've also tried changing USB ports.

Hello,

It appears I am having an issue with one of my drivers. Anytime I attach my Xbox 360 USB controller for gaming I start having problems. However, up until yesterday I have been using this gaming pad with no issues. When I play any game I can play fine for about 15 minutes and then the BSOD with the driver framework violation.

I ensured I had all Windows 7 updates and updated all drivers that appeared to be out of date.

If I remove the gamepad I have no issues.

Please let me know if you need any other details.

Hi and welcome to SF,

Firstly Im no expert on BSOD but I maybe able to point you in the right direction.

Both crashes are relating to your DirectX Graphics MMS

DirectX Graphics MMS which is a windows update. (check to see if windows update has updated this?)

Have you recently updated your graphics drivers?

I would suggest that you roll any ATI Graphic drivers back if recently updated by yourself? Or check Windows Updates for DirectX.

But first you will need to get the computer started, have you tried a system restore from Safe-mode to before the problem began? May help you get up and running.....choose Option 2 from the following link:

Good luck and post back any progress

Result Failed / Error code = 0x490
Time Taken / 700863 ms
I've run sfc from an elevated window and it says everything is fine.
Anybody got any suggestions?

Hi,

I'm getting BSODs, seemingly randomly. Often while on the Internet or playing music with iTunes, but sometimes when idling too. System is ~2 years old, OEM OS, re-installed a several months ago.

Can you please help me track down the cause? .zip file of memory dumps and perfmon report attached - please let me know if I can provide any additional info. Thanks much!

A:(Seemingly)-random BSODs, error 0x0000010d

Related to your PreSonus FireStudio Driver.

I would re-install the newest driver available or remove to test.

Hello I have been receiving a couple of BSOD, I believe its a driver issue and I hope I'm correct. I run DS3 Tool for emulators and games that support Xbox 360 game-pad. It is probably a coincidence but the two times the computer has received the BSOD I was using the DS3 tool and another time the DS3 tool and PS2 emulator.

This is a new build the only parts that is not new was the processor, DVD drive, and refurbished WD 1TB hard drive.

RAM was tested with memtest 2 passes I doubt it's a RAM issue will continue test if problem isn't resolved.

No components are overclocked aside from the factory overclocked Gigabyte GTX 760 OC REV 2.0

Computer has good airflow and heat is not an issue.

Also the PSU is a 600W Bronze certified from Corsair which is more than enough for this build.

Help or advice is much appreciated

Thank you.

Hey, new to these forums.

My laptop is having some crashing issues which I believe is due to a faulty installation of my current Windows 7. I want to re install it with Windows 7 Ultimate as a clean install. When I go to start up the installation and choose to receive updates, I get the error: "Windows installation encountered an unexpected error. Verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation. Error code: 0xE0000100"

From what I have read, this is due to a partition problem. Do I need to clear and format all partitions and boot the setup from a DVD? If so, how do I do this? Currently I am just running it using Daemon Tools Lite mounting software.

A:Trouble installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit. Error code: 0x0000100

Hi there
you can try this

1) boot from Windows install / recovery disk and choose repair system ==>tools ==> command mode

type the following in
cd/bootrec
fixmbr
fixboot.

Now try and install again.

If you STILL get an error then get into command mode again via the Windows install disk

now type these commands in
DISKPART
LIST DISK

Choose the disk you want to install windows on -- or the only disk if its a normal laptop

SELECT DISK X where X is the disk number

CLEAN

CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY

ACTIVE

FORMAT FS=NTFS QUICK.

(This will re-format the entire HDD - you can easily re-size afterwards with tools like GPARTED).

Now restart and install Windows -- if it STILL fails then you've got something wrong with the laptop.

Cheers
jimbo

Windows 7
Lenovo Y580 2011 model
Recently installed/swapped out for a new SSD and spent the past few days installing windows updates and other programs I needed.

It was only until today did I bother /have a need to access my windows firewall settings. Upon opening Windows firewall with Advanced Security window I am met with a:

There was an error opening the Windows Firewall with Adv security snap in  /  the snap in failed to load.

I ran a few quick scans with Malwarebytes Anti malware but those were all PUP files (still had them removed, then restart but same issue)
since I only checked today I can't tell how long this has been an issue.

am I infected? should I restore my computer to a early point before some of the windows security updates?

I'm so surprised.

A:Trouble accessing Windows Firewall Error Code: 0x6D9

Hello, I highly doubt you are infected. Windows Firewall is causing the issue, to solve this problem I recommend downloading Windows Repair and following my steps.

Step 1. Install the program

Step 2. Drain all the power in your computer by unplugging all cords and taking out the battery. After that keep pressing the power button a few times like you are turning it on to drain the power left in your computer.

Step 3. Put the battery back in and the power cord (if you need one) and turn on your computer.

Step 4. Run Windows Repair and select the Step 5 tab (Backup). Next press backup under Registry Backup. You may want to create a restore point too, which is next to it.

Step 5. Go onto the Repair tab and click Open Repairs and make sure you have Registry Permissions, File Permissions, WMI and Windows Firewall checked. When ready click Start Repairs and wait until it has finished.

Step 6. When it has finished copy the log in the Log tab and post it onto this topic.

Step 7. Wait for me to reply

Thanks Aramus

I checked my display drivers and according to the device manager, the drivers are up to date. I believe I have a AMD Radeon HD 7570

I don't know what information to give someone, but please help.

Can you be a bit more specific? Do you get any popup balloon from system trey like this one?

Anyway, the issue is definitely display related. A stop 0x116 is display/graphics failure. And the display driver is not up to date. It is on June 2012.

Update it, but not to the latest. Uninstall your installed latest version of the display driver.

My wife was installing new software and when she started up the computer again it has an error message. The computer is 5 years old and the tech support has expired. I am wondering if anyone can guide me through fixing the computer. I ran an analysis and it came up with uncontrollable data error or media block. The computer gets to the windows XP screen and then a blue box comes up saying among other things to disable BIOS and cache and restart using safe mode-advanced startup options (F8). I cannot seem to get beyond the "call dell prompt".
Thank you all......

A:Error code (uncorrectable data error) [BSOD]

I assume the blue box is full screen?
It is called a BSOD(Blue Screen of Death) or just Blue screen... you may find that renaming your thread to state that its a blue screen you will probably get an answer. Best thing to start with though, would be to log in in safe mode (by tapping F8 when booting up your pc and choosing to start up in safe mode) then to uninstall the program because it is obviously the cause, what piece of software is it? generally BSODs will be to do with hardware/drivers/things that windows cannot fix on the fly.
There are other users which can give you a definitive answer with this because i am not experienced enough to know how to analyse it...

Hi -

Your BSODs go back to the date Windows 7 was installed - October 26, 2009.

Did you upgrade to Windows 7 or did you purchase the system w/ OS installed?

I've been having this issue on and off for the last year. Each time I try and diagnose it, I have no luck and it sometimes goes away for long stretches but then comes back again. The BSOD is sporadic as hell; sometimes not occurring during very long stretches of gaming. other times it can be back to back, 3-4 times in a row. It happens most often while playing Street Fighter V; but I've also had it while playing Overwatch. Other times it happens just while at the desktop. I've included Dxdiag and the dump from the crash. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anyone? Thank you!

A:BSOD with no error code

Hello, Annia. I will try to help you. Are you able to boot into the computer at all? Have you tried safe mode? Safe Mode.

Failing that please boot from the installation DVD and select repair my computer on the second screen in the bottom left corner of the screen. This will tell you how. You can use the Installation DVD or a repair CD which you have made. Try running startup repair. You may have to run it 3 times with attempted reboots in between. This should tell you how. Startup Repair

See if either of those help you. If you can start it in safe mode, Please upload the BSOD Posting Instructions http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-help-support/96879-blue-screen-death-bsod-posting-instructions.html. Your error is 0xD1 and these are usually caused by faulty drivers. In your case it is the driver athru6.sys which belongs to your Atheros Wireless USB Network Adapter.

Update your drivers.

My GF has on old laptop with Vista 32 bit installed. I believe there should be a problem with some old drivers, or similar. Sometimes it doesn't accept new software as goes into conflict and causes BSOD on a startup. F.e. KIS-14 didn't work and we use KIS-12 instead. After last system update, teamviewer stopped working and re-installing causes BSOD (both ver. 8 and 9). I attach last mini-dumps, can you check if it directs to the problem, please?

Yeah, I have Recovery Commander bundled with my Fix-It Utilities software. It automatically creates system restore and recovery commander checkpoints whenever I install something. It's saved my butt more than once.

As far as the graphics card goes, this is not the first time I have seen issues with that brand. And also with a Toshiba, I'm not surprised you're having problems (Toshiba is on my list of brands I'll never buy).

The memory dump gave you the problem:

"GRAPHICS_DRIVER_TDR_FAULT

...

nvlddmkm.sys"

^That's the driver causing the problems. Seeing as how you cannot use any other drivers, and the system cannot work with the current one, the only solution I see is to get another graphics card.

Uninstalling the game might take away whatever installed that you suspect caused the problems, but that is not likely. That is the first thing I would try, though (before dropping some dough on a new GPU). If that doesn't work, trying to locate some older drivers would be your next option (since the current ones don't work and newer ones don't exist). Sometimes rolling back new, faulty drivers to the old, faithful ones can fix things. But that is no guarantee either.

Driver problems can be a major pain in the Windows world, but we have to learn to live with them.

Let me know what happens....

Hi Xibir.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

If it does not show any error, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.

Well after attempting to tweak my computer to run Fable TLC without crashing or even getting it started Don t worry this isn t going to be fully about Fable I somehow screwed up my drivers to now BSOD without a code on most any video I play on my computer I have attempted the sticky post of what to do prior to posting minidumps even though I kind of figured none of them would work Did improve my computers performance though So with all that said no with BSOD code error here s the knitty gritty truth of what caused this new problem to crop up after trying to fix Fable with Microsoft s methods I got really angry and after installing new drivers for BSOD with no error code the video card on my computer the BSOD started and then I did something stupid I started randomly deleting video and audio codecs After doing this I uninstalled the codec packs through Window s Add Remove programs and then got the updated versions but the driver problem stuck Continuing on I got some programs for driver cleaning registry cleaning and disk defragmenting which have all worked quite well but have not solved the initial problem After trying all of them I got new drivers tried doing it all in safe mode but to no avail which brings us to now I can safely say I ve kind of run out of options due to the fact I can t read minidumps and will attempt to look up how to after posting this here but I m pretty much tired of trying to figure it out and am about ready to just reinstall Windows Going to post as many minidumps as I can just so there s plenty of reference nbsp

In almost all of the crash files I have been seeing Bugcheck 1A. Let's make sure your memory is okay.

Run a RAM - Test with Memtest86+ for a minimum of 8 passes. If you even get 1 error then there is something wrong with the RAM. If so, then we will test each individual RAM stick.

Post back results.

Hi,

There are no .dmp's attached in your jcgriff output folder.

Please navigate to C:/Windows/Minidump and zip up any dump files located there that you'd like to have analyzed, and then attach that zip here. If there are no dumps located in C:/Windows/Minump, you may be writing full memory dumps to C:/Windows, and it'll be called MEMORY.DMP.

I know this sub-forum is normally used for BSOD issues, but I'm not sure if this issue fits in the other sub-forums any better than this one.

For at least a month now, various programs have been crashing with error code c0000005, and I'm not sure how to fix the issue.

I've already run Memtest86 a few times, and I received no errors from the tests I ran.

I've uploaded the latest minidump crash from a program called MusicBee (I no longer have the other minidumps), along with the rest of the files produced from DM Log Collector Tool (HOME-Fri_07_22_2016__12235_99.zip).

How To Find Drivers:

Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

These crashes were caused by memory corruption (probably a driver). Please run these two tests to verify your memory and find which driver is causing the problem.

If you are overclocking anything reset to default before running these tests.
In other words STOP!!!
1-Memtest.

Quote:
*Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool

*Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot.

Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Any errors are indicative of a memory problem.

If a known good stick fails in a motherboard slot it is probably the slot.

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

I'd suggest that you first backup your data and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

In Windows 7 you can make a Startup Repair disk by going to Start....All Programs...Maintenance...Create a System Repair Disc - with Windows Vista you'll have to use your installation disk or the "Repair your computer" option at the top of the Safe Mode menu .

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes t... Read more

Hi folks,

Had a friend's acer laptop (about 5 years old) at my house because he was getting the blue screens with error code 0000050 event code 1003. It was happening for me quite often. I updated every driver that I could update and had no blue screens for 3 days. Used wireless and wired connections and no problems. Ran virus scans and defragged. He gets it back and almost immediately gets a BSOD. The only thing I can think of that would be different at his place is he uses a static IP address to get on the internet. He informed me he is using the same static ip his desk top is using. Could this cause the errors? It doesn't seem to make sense that it would but.... It's XP Pro SP3.

Thank You

A:Error Code 0000050 & BSOD

Hi Bobby, I did some reading on that error code. What i found out is that it could either be being caused by a virus called the Haxdoor virus, or be caused by a corrupted bluetooth driver. Here are a couple of links that may help.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/903251

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897079

Please read them carefully and if your unsure of anything DONT DO IT The last thing I would want to see is for you to make the problem worse because of Info that I gave you. Good luck and let me know how it works out. I will subscribe to this thread and check it regularly to see if i can be of further assistance.

The error almost always results in a black screen with white text, telling me that Windows could not be started. The error code is something like 0x000000e. Not quite sure how many 0's, but it's like that.

This usually happens when I'm asleep, but when I'm awake to witness it, it is a BSOD first, and then if I don't hold my desktop's power button to turn it off and then back on, this screen almost always comes up.

This is a custom desktop that has been doing this since inception.
ASUS p8p67 LE

I'm not quite sure how this BSOD report works, whether the specific BSOD report is included in there, or only the BSOD report from using verifier to test my drivers. I've attached it, nonetheless.

Edit: Reuploaded zip file instead of rar.

A:Bi-Daily BSOD with the same error code

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD

Follow it manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump.

If the dumps are already there, zip those and upload. If it is not there (disc cleanup or running ccleaner wipes those out) wait for the next crash, and then upload.

I don't remember starting from when I began to get these BSODs. Initially it's rare but they have been showing up more and more frequently and finally to the point where today rebooting could no longer save me--- the BSOD came back right after reboot.

I didn't install any new hardware since I custom-build my desktop last year. Though I noticed it got harassed by Malwares recently so I used Malwarebytes to remove them every once a while.

I've run the windows mem diagnostic and it didn't report any issue.

Please see the attachment for detailed info, any pointer would be greatly appreciated!

Hi dakoslug.

Dont use a BETA display driver.

Uninstall the installed display driver using DDU. Then install the CCC 14.4 WHQL only.

Let us know for any further BSOD after doing it. Because, some more steps may be needed depending on the resulting situation.

Hello

I have a daughter who seems to have a knack for screwing up my computer. I'm getting this message every time I open Windows Edge; it clogs up everything. Fortunately, Google Chrome is working, so I'm able to post this.

I'm not sure how she did this, and I would like some help to get it removed. I've tried scanning with Spybot Search and Destroy; it's still there. The Microsoft "malicious software" removal tool didn't see it, nor does my free version of Avast.

I noticed an odd program called "Torn TV." I removed it, but the problem is still there.

Welcome to TSG....

Run the following and post the produced logs...

Download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your Desktop.
Double click on Adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click on the Scan in the Actions box
Please wait fot the scan to finish..
When "Waiting for action. Please uncheck elements you want to keep" shows in top line..
Click on the Cleaning box.
Next click OK on the "Closing Programs" pop up box.
Click OK on the Information box & again OK to allow the necessary reboot
After restart the AdwCleaner(C*)-Notepad log will appear, please copy/paste it in your next reply. Where * is the number relative to list of scans completed...

Next,

Download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system (32 bit or 64 bit). If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

If your security alerts to FRST either, accept the alert or turn your security off to allow FRST to run. It is not malicious or infected in any way...
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
(Windows 8/10 users will be prompted about Windows SmartScreen protection - click More information and Run.)
Make sure Addition.txt is checkmarked under "Optional scans"
Press Scan button to run the tool....
It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
The tool will also make a log named (Addition.txt) Please attach those logs to your reply.

Thank you,

Kevin....

Hi,

The attached DMP's are of the following bugchecks:

CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION (f4)

Quote:

There's a hardware problem with the boot drive, or a device driver has a bug or a critical service was stopped.

KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR (7a)

Quote:

Windows could not read a file from the disk that is supposed to be there. It may indicate the hard disk has bad sectors, hardware (disk, controller, memory) issues, a virus infection or a bug in a device driver.

I am seeing tons of memory corruption, even on DMP's with verifier enabled. Let's try a Memtest -

Memtest86+:

Quote:

Download Memtest86+ here:

Quote:

http://www.memtest.org/

Which should I download?

You can either download the pre-compiled ISO that you would burn to a CD and then boot from the CD, or you can download the auto-installer for the USB key. What this will do is format your USB drive, make it a bootable device, and then install the necessary files. Both do the same job, it's just up to you which you choose, or which you have available (whether it's CD or USB).

How Memtest works:

Memtest86 writes a series of test patterns to most memory addresses, reads back the data written, and compares it for errors.

The default pass does 9 different tests, varying in access patterns and test data. A tenth test, bit fade, is selectable from the menu. It writes all memory with zeroes, then sleeps for 90 minutes before checking to see if bits have changed (perhaps because of refresh problems). This is repeated with all ones for a total time of 3 hours per pass.

Many chipsets can report RAM speeds and timings via SPD (Serial Presence Detect) or EPP (Enhanced Performance Profiles), and some even support changing the expected memory speed. If the expected memory speed is overclocked, Memtest86 can test that memory performance is error-free with these faster settings.

Some hardware is able to report the "PAT status" (PAT: enabled or PAT: disabled). This is a reference to Intel Performance acceleration technology; there may be BIOS settings which affect this aspect of memory timing.

This information, if available to the program, can be displayed via a menu option.

Any other questions, they can most likely be answered by reading this great guide here:

There are 8 file types using the DMP file extension?: INMCS, Microsoft Windows, Oracle, Amiga, Dream Maker, Mozilla Firefox, PDP-10, and Microsoft visual studio. As a result, many tech helpers pass over posts with .dmp messages. It might be useful to post your .dmp files as txt files if your system has that capability. Five .dmp files are a lot to go through.

Apart from that, give us more detail on what "...randomly get BSOD..." means. Such errors are seldom random when you actually take note of what you are running at the time.
