I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: Lots of bluescreen since new video card (installed yesterday)

you have got a lot of BSODs after installing the new GPU. 9 within two days. And those are of different bugcheck code, but they all are saying one thing in common, memory corruption.

No driver is being identified as failing, even not the display driver. So we have to consider it as a hardware issue.

Stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark.
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Let us know the results.

Hi. I recenly purchased a Dell Dimension 3000 running XP. I connect to the internet using a Linksys Wireless-G (model WMP54GS). That works just fine. However, I got a new video card, a GeForce FX 5500 and when it's installed the wirless card doesn't really work. It struggles to find the network. If it does find it it generally won't connect. Once in a while I can get it to connect but that's not very common. Once I remove the video card the network works fine. I've tried installing a variety of drivers for both PCI cards. I've tried moving the cards to different slots and the results are always the same. Any ideas as to why this would happen?

Thanks,
Matt

A:Wireless card stops working when video card is installed.

how is the power supply? Maybe adding the video card reduces the power enough to cause the nic to drop.

Hi all.
Just rebooted med pc, but cant update my videocard.
I have a Geforce 8600M GT 51. But when i go to Videosettings, it says VGA-Videocard.

I got a drivers cd from my sellsman. When i load i got a lot of drivers to choose. I select "VIDEO" - producer "NVIDA"

I download it, and run. It pops-up "Proceed" so yes. But afterwards nothing happens. - The setup vil not run.
- so im lost with nothing.

Games like Counter-Strike only runs in software mode :s

[And - i dont know if this has anything to do with it - so you dont have to help on this on: When i try to run CSs it loads like always, but then. Nothing happens - just like the setup for my videocard.]

Pls help?
(btw. From denmark and im very tierd - if its difficult to understand )

I have an XFX motherboard x i model 2nd video boot will with card not installed PC pci-e MD-X I-CH It has three PCIe slots I have an Nvidia GEForce GTX graphics card in one of the PCIe slots middle of the motherboard This is running two quot displays with no issues at all I also have a Asus ENGT video card with HDMI output that I want to load into one of the other PCIe slots When I do this the computer will not boot properly It starts displays the splash screen for windows but after that it appears as if there is some sort of conflict Probably a driver conflict but I cannot even see anything or log in to the PC Will the mother board support two different graphics cards If so what do PC will not boot with 2nd pci-e video card installed I need to do to get it to work I have not installed any drivers for the ASUS graphics card because the instructions have you do this after booting With Windows I didn't think I would have to install anything

A:PC will not boot with 2nd pci-e video card installed

Unless you have a motherboard with a specific chipset, it's very difficult to two individual cards to run together. Apparently your board, (while a good one for the price bracket) only supports sli for this apparently. So you would need the second card to be a sli compliant card, from what I see on that ENGT430 it's not an SLI capable card (which is really weird for a model that recent)

There may be a trick to get them to work together, but the problem is not a windows problem, it's hardware compatibility.

A:Can't boot with PCI Video Card installed! Please help!!

Hello! Welcome to TechSpot!

In most cases, you need to disable on board video.
In windows uninstall any onboard video drivers.
Reboot into bios and disable the onboard video,
then shut down to off.
Install one of the new cards in the top pci slot.(closest to cpu)
Boot to windows and install drivers.
To run both pci cards, shutdown, install 2nd video card.
Boot to windows install 2nd set video drivers.

Ok, so the computer crashes while I'm using it. Kind of a burned smell and then it just shuts down and won't start. Did some tinkering and found that it would start (turn on, beep, hard drive chugs away) if I removed the video card. Put the card back in, computer won't turn on. Take it out, computer turns on. So I get a brand new video card: computer turns on, but no picture.
SO, Can I be fairly safe in assuming that the mobo is bad?

This is an elaboration of the issues I ve been experiencing in the threads HERE and HERE For convenience I will summarize the problem below About a month Card Video Not Installed Computer Booting with ago I had a display error while gaming where the view went off center with a black bar in the center of my screen on a single monitor and the cursor crossed from one side of the screen to the other and the black bar was seemed to be the edge of the display A restart fixed that problem The next day I added a second monitor to the set-up and for several hours everything was working fine until my computer froze and I was forced to hard reboot Computer Not Booting with Video Card Installed After that my computer booted through the BIOS and Windows was starting to load before my display went black I was able to boot windows in Safe Mode and went through a process of rolling back drivers and then reinstalling the drivers when the roll-back didn t help Reinstalling had my windows begin to start like normal reaching the desktop but a moment after that was a sound like windows detecting new hardware and then the display went black again With my monitor connected to the motherboard s graphics my computer is able to start and run normally While running off of the on-board graphics I would experiences instances of stuttering with the computer briefly freezing never for longer than a second and never very often - times per day Shortly after that I was able to get a hold Computer Not Booting with Video Card Installed of a new graphics card believing that to be the problem but after I installed the new card my Computer Not Booting with Video Card Installed computer would no longer boot The fans would start up the case lights would come on but there would be no display and no power to any of the peripherals Connecting the monitor to the motherboard while keeping the card installed had the same result Uninstalling the card and connecting the monitor to the motherboard had the system boot normally My specs OS Windows -bit CPU Intel i - Graphics old Sapphire AMD Radeon Graphics new XFX AMD Radeon R Graphics motherboard cpu Intel HD Graphics integrated graphics Memory G Skill GB DDR GB x Storage Western Digital TB SATA MB Cache PSU OCZ Mod X Stream Pro W Motherboard ECS H H -M I have been lead to believe through researching similar issues that this is likely a problem with my power supply but I would appreciate any second opinions and any sort of diagnostics or tests or the like that I could perform to help narrow things down before I invest in another new piece of hardware that isn t the true culprit Thank you all in advance nbsp

Do you have an older graphics card that you can try on the system? I'm curious to find out whether it's the new card that could be the problem or if it's the slot that's damaged. At first glance it sounds like a hardware problem to be honest but it could also be incompatible drivers or another software related issue. Check with another graphics card first and get back to us.

Hi guys, I have a Dell E510 desktop comp. Its running a 3.2 Pentium D with 2 GB RAM, and it came with one of those wimpy ATI radeon X600 Video cards and I wanted to upgrade for better video game play. I went to dell and got one of there recommended cards. The new card I installed is a NEW nVidia GeForce 6800 PCI-E x16 256MB DVI VGA. I first deleted my old video drivers and carefully installed the new card and upon firing it up to install the new video drivers the screen is completely black. The video card's fan fires up and the monitor gets power just is completely black! Im not sure what to do, i've checked the connections of the video card and cables. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance, Chase.

A:New Video Card Installed, black screen now!

Just checking but did you uninstall the old graphics driver from the Add and Remove Programs or did you mistakenly try to uninstall through the Device Manager?

I am using a Dell XPS computer running Vista My wireless network has worked fine until now I had my video graphics card go bad and installed a new one ATI Radeon That fixed the video problem but since then I have not been able to connect to my home wireless network Windows suggested that I may have a hardware problem with wireless video card Lost installed after my Lost wireless after installed video card network adapter so I replaced it with a new Linksys AE USB adapter The device manager says it is working properly but it does not pick up the wireless network says no networks available The old computer sitting next to it picks up the network fine I have reinstalled the adapter several times with no effect When I click on the wireless network icon and ask it to diagnose the problem it says that the network adapter has a driver or hardware problem device manager says its working properly and to make sure that the Internet Protocol Bindings are proper and to make sure that Internet Protocol Version and Internet Protocol Version are selected those protocols are selected Suggestions are appreciated nbsp

A:Lost wireless after installed video card

It sounds like you *may* be running into some sort of compatibility issue(s). Unfortunately, Dell manufactures some of their own parts and they don't necessarily play well with off-the-shelf products. You may want to speak with them and find out what parts work and what don't.

Ok, so...
I just bought a new video card, ATI RADEON and I installed it fine and it works fine on my PC, BUT since the moment i restarted my computer after installing it i have not been able to get any sound, I have searched tons of websites for help on what to do and NOTHING has worked, i even had to do PC recovery at a point. Here are the things I've tried:
- PC Recovery
- Remove New card and plug monitor into old slot. (screen doesnt even turn on)
- Reinstall sound driver
-

Someone please help me out with it. I dont want to spend any more money and this computer is my baby.

A:Bought new video card, installed and now NO SOUND

I'd say it's likely become disabled in system CMOS

When restarting press the key that says Hit DEL or F2 or whatever! That gets into CMOS (setup)
Once in CMOS, re-enable onboard Sound
Save and exit (usually F10 key)

Restart and confirm you have sound.

I've been building and upgrading PCs for a while and never had this happen before Any help would be great I'm running on an Intel DP WB motherboard with a PCIe x I pulled the old Radeon series video card and put in a XFX Radeon HD When I try to boot it up the lights and fans come on but I get no signal to the monitor no beeps and the pc doesn't boot It had a thermaltake AP power supply in it beeps boot Installed card video and no now no new which should be more than enough but I put in an Antec Installed new video card now no boot and no beeps w high current gamer supply in and same no boot I then thought there might be a problem with the slot on the board so I swapped the old card back in the same slot and it booted right up At this point all I can think is that the card is bad out of the box any thoughts before I have to go deal with RMA

I installed Win7 just fine. The video card on that computer is old, a Radeon 8500. No drivers exist for Vista or Win7. Win7 used the default VGA drivers. I purchased a new video card, a GeForce 6600, which has Win7 driver support. I installed the new video card. The bios screen comes up and post, then it goes to the "starting windows screen", then the computer reboots back to the bios screen.

Any ideas what may be wrong?

A:Installed Win7 with old video card. Bought new

Hi.

What kind of card did you get? AGP, PCI or PCI-e?

First thing to try is to disable the onboard vga and set your new card's type to be the primary display device, in bios.

Also, especially if it's AGP card, please fill in your system specs as best as possible. It will go a long way to figuring this out.

hi all, I just installed a new asus P4s800d-x mobo and a geforce2 agp graphics card - the mobo doesn't have onboard graphics, it's a socket 478 pentium 4 computer with 1024ram - had a board with onboard graphics before which was working but gave problems if you turned off system. Power is going to the various places - mobo light is green, power supply (430W) fan works as does cpu fan - BUT, nothing goes to the monitor now and there are no beeps.
any ideas what I've done wrong? I checked all the connections all are in correctly - only the panel connectors gave me trouble - no clear indication which side is + - I assumed the side with the little arrow and a coloured wire...

Help please - I don't have any other graphics card or pc to swap things around with

thanks

Hey everyone, I'm in the mood to upgrade my video card from a Sapphire X1600PRO 256MB to an ATi X850 XT. When I looked for reviews on this video card, I noticed that all of the test machines were AMD Processor based. Is this a biased decision or is it absolutely necessary?

A:Monitor Not Detecting Installed New Video Card and 1GB RAM

Try putting the old RAM and video card back in. If it works, it's not the motherboard. When you say "It didn't start up", do you mean your pc wouldn't boot, or it booted and just wouldn't recognize the monitor??
It could be that your motherboard doesn't like the brand of RAM, or are you sure your board takes that specific manufacturer's RAM? Some boards are tricky and will only operate with a well know brand. Also, did you replace the RAM you had in it, or did you add to that RAM?? It could also be a bad video card as well. Try your original configuration first and then work your way up from there. This way, you can eliminate one possibility before moving on to the next one. If the original configuration works, try replacing the video card next with the new one BUT only use the original RAM. If that works, my bet is the new RAM is bad, or the mobo doesn't like the brand you purchased.

Hi. After installing a new video card (NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700LE), I am having boot problems. When the computer boots, it boots correctly. The problem is that it doesn't want to start up. I had to hit the power button repeatedly to get it to fire up. I first thought it was a problem with my switch, but am now wondering if it is a power supply issue. Could this video card cause my computer to need a larger power supply?

Thanks!

I just installed e-geforce 8800GTS, booted up my computer and got a constant ringing sound...which I'm pretty sure is coming from my motherboard. Also, the video card has a power cable which the manual says is strongly reccomended to give the card the sufficient power, though my motherboard doesnt seem to have any more of the inputs to put it into. So, I did not connect the extra power adapter when I started up the computer, could this be the problem? Thanks

I just recently bought an ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 8500DV Card(AGP version), and before I installed the card, I had uninstalled my previous ATI and my video adapter card software and drivers from my computer. I also disabled my built-in video adapter too. In addition, I went to my BIOS and on the PCI/ Plug and Play Setup Page, I changed my PCI setting to AGP bus. After I had installed my ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON graphics, my computer wouldn't boot up. I just got a self test message that came across my computer's monitor screen telling me that my monitor is working and that I need to check the video cable and computer.

On an ending note, what must I do to get my computer to boot up with my ALL-IN-WONDER RADEON 8500DV Card(AGP version) installed?

Hey,
I just installed a new GeForce 9500 GT Grafics card to (hopefully) fix "Display Drive nvlddmkm has stopped responding but has succecfully recovered." when playing World of Warcraft.
I was told the card could easily be installed on my own, but now when I try to get just the log-in screen for WoW, I get the blue screen, saying the problem is now nv4_mini.sys
Could this just be because I installed the card improperly? It wouldn't be a surprise, since I had no clue what I was doing. Or is there something more complicated to something like this?
My best bet would probably just be to remove the card, system restore, and let the store put it in for an additional $50-60down, unless that isn't the problem.
Thanks for your help. If I have not given enough info, let me know.

A:Screen goes black after a video card driver installed

I would tend to think you have some failing hardware. First of all when you install the video driver, it draws more pw than when using a standard ms driver. Check your voltages ie 12V, 5V and 3.3V values and post those here for review. You can access this info in the bios under hardware OR since it is a gigabyte board, you can install easytune [I am not sure if easytune will work with just the standard ms video driver]

Next the p35 intel chipset was released in 07 so that makes this mb approx 6yrs old. I would get a bright light and give the board a VERY close inspection. Look for any leaking capacitors. If you find any that look like the pics below, you have found your problem.

Took an old Dell XPS 630i with ATI 4850 old card that crapped out on me and replaced it with ATI HD 7750. I am sure i properly seated the card but when i connect it to my monitor all i get is a black screen... When I boot up the machine i can't even see BIOS logo.

Monitor settings itself can change from auto detect, Analog, Digital. Using a DVI to VGA adapter so im on Digital Setting - which should be correct because i see the floating color box...

Card spins, pretty sure 750w PSU works fine, etc ... didn't touch anything else. Also I was reformatting windows 7 on this PC and didn't finish (It finished installing windows but i got to the screen where it told me to enter my Name for PC and i just turned it off) I doubt this has anything to do with it but thought i should mention this.

Thoughts?

My video adapter (ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series) works fine with all desktop and modern apps, unless Hyper-V is installed. Even if the Hyper-V service is stopped, if it is installed many apps declare my video adapter is incompatible.
Examples are the Netflix and Hulu. Once I install Hyper-V, those modern apps no longer work, yet I can still use the web-based Netflix and Hulu.

Does this happen with all display adapters? What is the root cause of this alleged incompatibility? It can't really be a problem with Hyper-V because the problem arises even if Hyper-V services are stopped.

Is there a fix to this problem, other than keeping Hyper-V uninstalled? Is there a list of display adapters that remain compatible with Hyper-V installed?

I am running 8.1 Pro x(64) with Update with an i7-920 processor, 13 gb of memory, on an ASUS P6X58-E WS motherboard.

I would return the video card and get a replacement. You tried the default drivers and it comes up with a black screen. Something is wrong with the card.

Or you could stick with the driver that Windows found for you when you removed the driver and rebooted. ( without any downloaded drivers )

Is this a laptop or a desktop? Make and model number? you should find it embossed on the machine unless it is home built. Most manufacturers provide information and drivers for their machines on their websites

Hi I m trying to add a PCI card to my sister in law s computer which is a Gateway with an Intel D GRG motherboard Now before anyone says quot Why a PCI quot because Gateway in an effort to save a card XP then screen Splash blank installed...Windows Video few bucks did not put an AGP slot on this board There looks to be a place for one but Video card installed...Windows XP Splash screen then blank there is not one She had a stroke Video card installed...Windows XP Splash screen then blank in November and I took her CRT and gave it away and put a Viewsonic quot widescreen LCD monitor on the comp so she could see it better and it was not right on top of her gave her some room on her desk But the onboard graphics are garbage and really slowed down the comp There are no adjustments either So I bought a e-GeForce FX PCI card with MB to take the load off the ram that she has plus swapped out her ram with some that I had X Corsair single density giving her ram not alot but I wanted to see if that would speed things up The computer sped up quite a bit I finally figured out how to get into the bios and set it up so that the video is run by the PCI card The Windows splash screen comes up but then the screen just goes blank If I go back into the bios I can set the video to the AGP which must mean that Gateway runs the Onboard video through that AGP and the computer boots up just fine Can any one give me any clues as to what is going wrong I have built probably around - systems so am not a newbie to this whole thing But I am a long way from being technically savvy since my life revolves around many things and I cannot keep up on everything We just need a decent screen for her to look at doesn t have to be anything fancy nor exceptionally speedy the only games she will play will be solitaire games nbsp

A:Video card installed...Windows XP Splash screen then blank

While the Monitor is running on the AGP(built in) go to the device manager and remove the display device and then shut down. Then plug in the PCI card and hook the monitor to it. Then try to reboot going into BIOS setup and change it to PCI graphics. Then save settings and boot. If that doesn't do it then it might be because the onboard just doesn't disable since it is AGP VS PCI. Should though.

A:Re-installed Windows7. Video card not detected :( geforce 560ti

Well.. when you plug your monitor to the video card do you get any video signal? So you are getting a black screen and you only get video signal when you plug it into the motherboards VGA port, correct?
The bios does not necessarily disable the onboard video automatically. And it has to be disabled so the motherboard sends the video signal to the discrete GPU.

That's how it worked in my system, so you might want to wait for someone to confirm what I said, or correct me.

After installing Windows Ultimate over XP my graphics card was no longer recognized as an Intel GM but rather a quot First Standard VGA Graphics quot ' I could feed a TV through the VGA connection to the VGA graphics A3 or Video 7 windows after not reconized installed Tecra card Intel S TV connection O K The screen only showed on the TV at this point and I did not know about the Fn F combination although I know this would probably not have worked anyway When I returned home and tried to hook-up a different TV with the S Video cable which worked just fine before windows was installed the TV did not receive a signal The resolution page did not show the nd monitor T V at all Tried all the update drivers routine w o success Searched Toshiba's drivers for the Tecra A w o success Searched for days and finally found Tecra A3 S Video not reconized or Intel graphics card after windows 7 installed a site that mentioned NetFramework Tecra A3 S Video not reconized or Intel graphics card after windows 7 installed might be out of date and so would not load the drivers properly I had the latest edition I searched the Intel support site and discovered there is no driver's available for the quot older quot systems Thanks Intel So I gave up and ordered a VGA to S Video Converter box Five minutes later I get the brain storm to download the driver I spotted on Intels site for windows XP Pro Graphics driver The first attempt to run the execute file after downloading the driver's execute file failed and said quot not supported by system quot But then I noticed it also said something like quot install with recommended settings quot I went ahead and clicked on that box and the Tecra started cooking Shortly it said completed and that I had to reboot I rebooted and that seemed to to work It now did show the Intel card under Devices instead of quot First Standard VGA Graphics quot I hooked up to the TV again with the S video cable and I am able to EXTEND to the TV However there is no option provided to CLONE to the T V Better than before I guess Hope this helps somebody who is experiencing the same issue after installing Windows Does anyone know how to get windows to work with the graphics card well enough to allow me to clone my displays Thanks for any suggestions

I noticed a 'check mark' icon in my system tray and on investigating it is a program called "Malware Protection Live". It just suddenly was there...It shows up in Control Panel > Programs and Features and it appears I could uninstall it there....It says it was installed yesterday, but I have no recollection of installing anything yesterday.

I'm running Norton Security with a current subscription and all Windows Updates are / have been in place.

I planned to upgrade to Windows 10 tomorrow while I'm working from home on my laptop, but I'd like to get this dealt with. Any help appreciated.

Thanks!

A:"Malware Protection Live" Suddenly Installed Yesterday- How to Remove?

Malware Protection Live is a infection. Have you downloaded anything in the last few days. If you did it probable came along as a rider.

This should help you.

https://forums.malwarebytes.org/inde...-live-protect/

I also recommend using AdwCleaner from Bleeping Computer. Select the Download button for Bleeming Computer not the authors button.

A:Bluescreen since new win7 x64 installed

Your ATI driver is the cause

- Boot into safe mode with networking
- Uninstall the ATI drivers including Catalyst Control Center
- Use driver sweeper to remove leftover ATI display driver files Guru3D - Driver Sweeper
- Install the latest drivers http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloa...n_win7-64.aspx
- Reboot into normal mode

If that does not work try a System Restore

Ok so as mentioned before I have an HPE 410Y computer. I wanted to upgrade the power supply so I bought a 850W Seasonic modular power supply. I installed it and plugged everything in. Turned the computer on and held my breath. It turned on and I thought I was out of the woods but I wasn't. On bootup the computer goes to a blue HP screen usually for a few seconds then switched to the windows loading screen then to the usuer namer/password screen. However since I installed the new psu it gets stuck on the blue HP screeen and after almost a minute (way longer then it should take) an error message comes up that says windows can not be found or windows could not load. What is going on? Is it something with the mother board, something with the hard drive or what?

Hello everyone! I installed Windows 8 Pro a couple of weeks ago, and I've been getting A LOT of blue screens of death since then with different errors. Or sometimes my computer would just freeze, turn off and it wouldn't turn on without several tries (same thing happened when I had Windows 7 sometimes). I uploaded the .zip file with my information. What should I do?

Edit: Just got a couple of BSODs once again, first one was something like "Kernel mode exception not handled" and now I've got "Driver overran stack buffer"

A:Lots of BSODs since I've installed Windows 8

The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

You can get a head start on the hardware diagnostics if you'd like - they are located here: Hardware Diagnostics

Please:

Upload Dump Files:
NOTE: If using a disk cleaning utility, please stop using it while we are troubleshooting your issues.
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.

If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there. If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.

More info on dump file options here: Overview of memory dump file options for Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2

Your BIOS dates from 2010. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

I just installed several critical updates that I'd been behind on.

Immediately after restarting and getting online, I see in my Sygate traffic log an enormous jump in incoming hits - mostly TCP but also some UDP. Overall, I'd say at least a 500% increase. Addresses seem to be all over the place. Here's a sample, in case that's interesting to anybody:

81.202.194.93
193.204.182.32
82.48.95.118
193.204.182.32
80.143.157.88
24.131.32.213
81.70.42.150
195.146.234.36

Everything seems like it's getting blocked fine, but what's up with that?

A:Installed critical updates -- suddenly, lots of new hits

Actually, I'd say it's even more than 5x; at least 10x increase.

My 9 year old has a dell optiplex 755 SFF, he is asking me to upgrade his video card so he can play games like minecraft and some games on steam.
We are on a budget and found this Sapphire radeon 6450 on newegg for $39.99
Will this work in his computer and allow him to play minecraft? steam?

hi peoples

i have installed my media centre for the 3rd time in a month. Due to various issues. (1 being sleep) Now i have installed the same drivers as the first build for HDMI audio and video, which i had perfect dvd playback and tv on, however i am faced with errors about video drivers not properly installed.

Last time it was the HDMI driver which i have installed and reinstalled 3 times. It seems every time i follow the exact same process at rebuilding vista 64 i get a different result.

Is there a way you can reset media centre so it checks the drivers all over again. I am interested in resetting audio and video if possible

A:Vista x64 media centre video drivers not installed or installed incorrectly

Hi, audiophile, and welcome to the forums.

It would help to know your Graphics card and setup - I have installed Vista Ultimate x64 twice - once for testing, and then a format and reinstall as I changed the partition setup - since then (2 months now) I have not had a single issue with WiMP / WMC.

Hello and thanks in advance for your time Earlier this afternoon I noticed that the sound on my Thinkpad W was no longer working I hadn t really done anything of note with my computer- just updated Adobe Reader to v that I can think of When I checked the notification area I saw this However when I right click and click quot Playback Devices quot I get the following I immediately checked Device Manager and found that everything appeared to be fine I tried uninstalled Device card error, be when Installed" to Audio Output "No installed is appears sound even correctly and "No Audio Output Device is Installed" error, even when sound card appears to be installed correctly reinstalling the Conexant and NVIDIA drivers as well as updating BIOS Nothing seems to help When try to use the mute volume buttons on the keyboard the speaker mute button lights up when pressed but the microphone mute and volume - buttons don t appear to do anything I ve also tried plugging in headphones and that does not make any difference When I boot from an Ubuntu CD however sound works fine so I don t think that it s a hardware issue Anything that you folks could do to point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated Thanks

I was wondering if this would help?
Fix - Catalyst Control Center - CCC - will not open/install

I see no evidence that the AMD driver installed at all.
Right click desktop does not show ccc, and ccc is not in the lower right panel.

Windows shows an amd driver 8.5 and driver date from 2009??
And the program says it is an install manager??

A:installed HD 2600 pro card, installed AMS driver, but no ccc software?

I just installed 'hydravision' and got not software complaints.
I still see nothing about ccc or AMD driver etc...

Okay here's the story About two months ago I decided to splash out and replace my and bluescreen Video reboot. causes old coal powered PC for a spanking new one I'd heard a lot of people complaining about problems with Vista and didn't want to buy a Video causes bluescreen and reboot. pre-assembled machine so I decided to buy the components separately with an XP Professional disc and build the PC of Video causes bluescreen and reboot. my dreams About a month after I'd finished construction I started having problems first games would start crashing unexpectedly producing the dreaded BSOD then I discovered that attempting to play videos would produce the same result I Googled for days looking for solutions I tried using system restore to roll back to a previous date to no avail I tried upgrading downgrading drivers for every piece of hardware I could think of to no avail Eventually I'd had enough and just decided to format the thing and start over that was just under one month ago can you tell where this is going yet So it's been almost a month since the format and everything's been working perfectly I sat and watched a DVD on my PC this morning and everything was fine This afternoon I switched my PC on again tried to watch a video and it bluescreens To say that I was annoyed would be a massive understatement especially as nothing had changed between the time I watched the DVD and when I attempted to watch the video nothing had been installed nothing had been updated I hadn't even been online Here's what I've learned about the fault thusfar Anything to do with video causes the crash Any video regardless of the type results in a bluescreen I'd like to be more specific but the bluescreen flashes up for literally a split second then the machine reboots itself Attempting to run the quot Direct D Acceleration quot test via the the DXDIAG menu also triggers the fault A short time ago I attempted to run the quot Analysis amp Advice quot test in SiSoft Sandra this also resulted in the bluescreen reboot combo I've also tried running the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool a little while ago the one you burn to a CD and run on startup and it came back clean I had a feeling that this fault may be heat or dust related so I opened the case to have a look and I assure you that it's both clean as a whistle and quite cold inside There are four fans in there all spinning like crazy and the maintenance program which came with the motherboard software tells me that the temperatures are well within normal parameters and even reproducing the fault i e trying to play a video doesn't cause much of a temperature spike My stats OS Windows XP Professional SP Genuine Motherboard Asus M N -SLI Deluxe AM Skt nForce SLI PCI-E Dual Processor AMD Athlon X Dual Core Processor RAM GB Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT MB DirectX v c This is everything I can think of right now sorry for the long post I know a fair bit about computers but I'm not a computer expert by any stretch of the imagination usually I'd try to solve my own problems but it's become apparent that I'm in way over my head with this one I eagerly await your advice

Bluescreen when gaming, among other things

Hi,
I edited this post a little. At first it only happened when streaming videos, now I noticed it happens when playing games too.

After I had the same thing yesterday (and the bluescreen always gives a 124 error, which apparently is supposed to be something hardware related), I scanned all my harddrives with seatools over night, but they all passed with flying colors.

The PC had been running overnight, and all day today. All day long I used it, unrard things, played rather taxing games, watched a HD movie and worked in 3DS Max and Photoshop. No problem at all. Now suddenly it appears after around 10 minutes of playing Skyrim.

I'd appreciate if someone could help me here. Maybe someone can look at the minidumps? (Second post)

I'm using Windows 7 x64
8GB Ram
GTX 470
AMD Phenom II x4 black edition at 3,4 GHZ

We really need the actual DMP file.

If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Start your own thread in the "Crashes and Debugging" section of the forum and attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

Hi, I've recently been playing a lot of Path of Exiles.  Just recently I have had a problem with bluescreens.

The stop error code is: Stop: 0xA0000001

It only happens when I play Path of Exiles and my friend and I discovered a connection between my Avria anti-virus software trying to update and my computer going into a bluescreen while playing PoE.

Because of this, we uninstalled Avira and I have yet to have a bluescreen, we also ran Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and nothing came up.

My friend thinks there might be a potential virus or malware on my computer that causes my computer to crash when Avira tries to alert me.

Okay here s the story About two months ago I decided to splash out and replace my old coal powered PC for a spanking new one I d heard a lot of people complaining about problems and Bluescreen other video on woes. playback with Vista and didn t want to buy a pre-assembled machine so I decided to buy the components separately with Bluescreen on video playback and other woes. an XP Professional disc and build the PC of my dreams About a month after I d finished construction I started having problems first games would start crashing unexpectedly producing the dreaded BSOD then I discovered that attempting to play videos would produce the same result I Googled for days looking for solutions I tried using system restore to roll back to a previous date to no avail I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the hardware and software I tried upgrading downgrading drivers for every piece of hardware I could think of to no avail Eventually I d had enough and just decided to format the thing and start over that was just under one month ago can you tell where this is going yet So it s been almost a month since the format and everything s been working perfectly I sat and watched a DVD on my PC this morning and everything was fine This afternoon I switched my PC on again Bluescreen on video playback and other woes. tried to watch a video and it bluescreens To say that I was annoyed would be a massive understatement especially as nothing had changed between the time I watched the DVD and when I attempted to watch the video nothing had Bluescreen on video playback and other woes. been installed nothing had been updated I hadn t even been online Here s what I ve learned about the fault thusfar Anything to do with video causes the crash Any video regardless of the type results in a bluescreen I d like to be more specific but the bluescreen flashes up for literally a split second then the machine reboots itself Attempting to run the quot Direct D Acceleration quot test via the the DXDIAG menu also triggers the fault A short time ago I attempted to run the quot Analysis amp Advice quot test in SiSoft Sandra this also resulted in the bluescreen reboot combo I ve also tried running the Windows Memory Diagnostic tool a little while ago the one you burn to a CD and run on startup and it came back clean I had a feeling that this fault may be heat or dust related so I opened the case to have a look and I assure you that it s both clean as a whistle and quite cold inside There are four fans in there all spinning like crazy and the maintenance program which came with the motherboard software tells me that the temperatures are well within normal parameters and even reproducing the fault i e trying to play a video doesn t cause much of a temperature spike My stats OS Windows XP Professional SP Genuine Motherboard Asus M N -SLI Deluxe AM Skt nForce SLI PCI-E Dual Processor AMD Athlon X Dual Core Processor RAM GB Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT MB DirectX v c This is everything I can think of right now sorry for the long post I know a fair bit about computers but I m not a computer expert by any stretch of the imagination usually I d try to solve my own problems but it s become apparent that I m in way over my head with this one I eagerly await your advice nbsp

Hello,

I have an OptiPlex 9010 with onboard Display Port & VGA
I am trying to hookup a new 58 inch Samsung TV which only has 2 hdmi ports and composite & component.
I need both hdmi for laptop hookups so I can't use them for the Dell 9010.
I want to run VGA to either the composite or the component.
Will the onboard VGA do this?
I have a cable like this:

A:Does my OptiPlex 9010 video card support S-Video or Composite Video out through its VGA port

Quilty-MUN,The adapter in the image should work for your purpose connecting to the TV.

Hello I'm trying to fix a Related? Video During 0x0000000A, Bluescreen Startup friend's computer that is having issues lately with getting a BSOD intermittently during start-up I believe from what I've been able to look through that it is related to the video card in some way Bluescreen 0x0000000A, Video Related? During Startup This is an asus rog laptop G GX with an nvidia gtx m video card The problem is I've ran prime and furmax both for extended periods of time and while I was able to get some pretty awesome temperatures out of the laptop while I ran Bluescreen 0x0000000A, Video Related? During Startup these tests I did not experience a single bluescreen The only time the computer actually bluescreens is during startup and only maybe in startups After a bluescreen the computer might bluescreen for or times in a row during startup before the startup will succeed and everything will continue on as normal Booting into Hiren's and safe mode seems to work every time but whether or not this is just luck or not remains to be determined I'm over my head so now I leave it to the experts hopefully you guys can help point me in the right direction Is the video card just failing and there is nothing I can do Or is there something more I can update tweak to get this puppy working reliably for her again

.I would check the system memory, you can either test the memory by running memtest86 or test one chip at a time...

I have problems playing many video files, namely avi files, but not exclusively. The error Windows Media player gives is 80040265. It says the file is corrupt or not supported. I know for a fact these videos are not corrupt.

I've updated windows, updated windows media player, downloaded the latest divx and xvid codecs, installed defiler pak, and tried tons of different media players including VLC. They still won't play.

The only thing that I can think of is there's something in my system that is just screwing everything up. The only thing left for me to do is to reinstall windows.

This has only been happening since I installed Windows XP a few months ago.

Does anyone know what to do? It's really starting to make me mad. Thanks a lot.
