BSOD While Idle - wdf01000.sys ntoskrnl.exe

Q: BSOD While Idle - wdf01000.sys ntoskrnl.exe

Hello everyone,

I build a new system about 6 months ago.

Started having BSOD problems about a month ago.

Not exactly sure what the problem is so I am seeking some help.

Attached is a crash dump file.

I have checked a few crash dump files previously and mentioned the errors mentioned in the title in the probably caused by line.

The BSOD only happens when idle. It never happens if i am using the computer regularly or if I have a torrent running.

Any help is appreciated.

If you need the system specs. I will post them once I get home from work tonight.

Thanks,

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hello.
I'm getting random bsod's on an entire lab full of freshly imaged machines.

They have all of the latest drivers from dell (precisions) and all of the latest windows updates and the most recent bios.

I have attached a pic of the bsod as well as the .dmp file.

Thank you for your help.

I have constant problems with my computer BSODing on me for the past few years and the past 2 months I was relatively crash free and happy. But recently I have been getting errors a lot while gaming.
I have no idea what's causing these crashes because every other one seems like its a different driver, according to BlueScreenViewer.
I run my system overclocked but I still get crashes when it is all back to default settings. Any things I can try and test out would be greatly appreciated.

edit: I also have motionjoy running when the most recent crashes occurred if that helps at all. I'm not sure which is the driver version so I'll put both.

I have had constant issues with my PC build for 9 months now. Looking to get some confirmation that the problem could be a hardware issue as nothing software related seems to be a problem from my troubleshooting.

Things that I have tried:

Done memtest, no issues.
Reinstall windows
Checked for all updated drivers that could be found
Swapped USB wifi adapter from dlink to ASUS
About 50 hours of other random troubleshooting to try and get it to crash on command.

I am in the process of getting a new power supply which is 500w, but am running 120w right now. The computer does like to crash when transfering files to a USB drive. (still inconsistant)

I have attached what I hope is the correct .dmp files. If not just let me know!

Hi thezapman,

I see you have used KMSpico to activate windows illegal.

KMSpico heavily modifies code in Windows making Windows behave improperly. Analysing what is causing this is way too hard, for this reason I won't help you.

No DMP files included in upload please try this method.

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.

To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.

The procedure:

Quote:
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.

To ensure minidumps are enabled:

Quote:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

I've attached a picture of the BSOD that's been appearing a lot recently (mainly while I'm playing Final Fantasy XIV Online) even multipul times a day on my ASUS laptop. I've used the bluescreenview program and found out that every BSOD is caused by the same thing, but I have no idea how to fix the problem and was wondering if someone could please help me! It's driving me absolutely insane, so if someone could tell me how to resolve this problem I would really appreciate it.

Hello,

I am getting BSODs on multiple machines. Right now the count is at 6.

I am attaching the minidump files. We discovered the source of one of the BSODs - the TeeDriver64.sys was due to an outdated intel driver. We updated those drivers and haven't seen that particular BSOD since.

The most recent errors containing WDF01000.sys we would appreciate some insight on

Thanks!

I recently formatted and installed all new drivers manually by searching hardware IDs and tracking that way two drivers still remain unfound.

I've been getting a lot of BSOD's ever since I built my PC in but lately its frequency has rapidly increased It mostly happen when I alt-tab or scroll up down or zone into a new area in-game Sometimes a simple click playing [ntoskrnl.exe, rdpbus.sys, 4+ BSOD/day Wdf01000.sys] TERA/FFXI would do it too BlueScreenView shows this It stopped recording new BSOD dumps for some reason This might not be related but I've also been having driver issues ever since I built the PC Whenever I shutdown restart BSOD my PC several USB connected devices get a yellow quot flag quot in the Device Manager and I have to uninstall them one by 4+ BSOD/day playing TERA/FFXI [ntoskrnl.exe, rdpbus.sys, Wdf01000.sys] one then restart my PC one more time to get my USB devices working again such as headset PS controller USB connected using offline motioninjoy drivers While those devices are down my wireless keyboard and mouse still work though despite being connected via a USB bluetooth dongle so not all devices stop working This problem is particularly annoying because I have to through this tedious process every time I BSOD and it usually happens in in - successions meaning I'll BSOD while playing - gt reboot - gt uninstall drivers so I can get my devices to work again - gt reboot - gt BSOD within minute - gt rinse and repeat til stable at least until the next BSOD which normally occurs within - hours What should I do

A:4+ BSOD/day playing TERA/FFXI [ntoskrnl.exe, rdpbus.sys, Wdf01000.sys]

Your BSOD's are dated 13-Apr-2013 which were probably caused by: MotioninJoy simulate Xbox 360 controller (virtual Xinput device)

I would suggest to check for an update on this devices software, if not temporarily uninstall and see if that stops the BSOD's.

For the past 3 weeks, I have been receiving blue screens serval times.

Each time, the caused of the error reports has been "Wdf01000.sys" and address at ntoskrnl.exe+74a90.

I've attached 3 dmp files to this post.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

Hello and welcome to Sevenforums.

For whatever reason I wasn't able to open your dumps. This can be caused by the BSOD, not obtaining the rest of the files and information needed to complete the dump.
Just to be sure, see if your minidump configuration is intact with the one below.

Quote:
To ensure minidumps are enabled:

* Press Start, in the Search Box type: "sysdm.cpl" (without the quotes), press Enter.
* Select the Advanced tab, click on Startup and Recovery Settings.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information headline select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box.
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK till you're out of the dialogue.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

Also please provide a full report of your crash. Different files are missing from your zip file. This includes a nfo, driver lists, system report etc. To get these files, use our thread below.

Thank you!

Hey Guys,

I'm getting more and more frequent BSOD's on a new build whilst gaming and idle or browsing the web. Blue Screen View is pointing it's finger at ntoskrnl.exe

My system is custom built, only about 1 month old.

Win 7 Professional SP1 (retail)
i5-3570k - stock
ASRock Z77 Extreme 4
Sapphire HD 7850 - stock
8gb G.Skill Ripjaws
Crucial M4 64bg boot drive
1.5tb external HDD
XFX Pro 750w PSU

I had messed around with a bit of OCing at the start but have everything set to stock now.

Mosy common culprits;

MEMORY_MANAGEMENT 0x0000001a

PFN_LIST_CORRUPT 0x0000004e

SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x0000003b

Oh I reinstalled AVG the other day as there was 2 BSODs attributed to that so that does not seem to be causing trouble anymore

Hope I've attached everything ok.

Any help would be great!

:EDIT: I tried running the perform /report but it's just sitting there running and nothing is happening.

I have been a experiencing BSOD for over a is while common most PC BSOD ntoskrnl.exe idle month now It seems to only happen when my PC is idle for gt minutes Taking a peak with BlueScreenView the problem seems to be with ntoskrnl exe but I really do not know how to interrupt these results and come to a solution so I am reaching out to Seven Forums for some help Although ntoskrnl exe is the most common to appear there are a variety of BSOD while PC is idle most common ntoskrnl.exe error messages Attached is the data collected by SF Diagnostic hopefully this includes all the information we need to troubleshoot these BSODs A few extra notes I was having Blue Screens a few months back that also seemed to trigger when the PC was idle for some time or when booting Since then I reformatted my OS drive and for a while I did not experience any BSOD while PC is idle most common ntoskrnl.exe Blue Screens however the problem seems to have returned This immediately leads me to believe that is it a hardware issue but I am no professional troubleshooter When I recently was cleaning my custom built PC I noticed something particular about my RAM I am running GB x GB all the same brand and model however these sticks were purchased at different times as I felt like I needed more RAM I noticed that two of my sticks run at v while the other two run at v I have no idea if this information is relevant but I thought it was worth mentioning The sticks are all Corsair XMS series stick but they have different quot version quot numbers I currently have the v sticks paired in dual channel with each other and the v paired in dual channel with each other I look forward to any response and hopefully solving these annoying Blue Screens Thanks -Noodle

Hello all, I would be very grateful for any pointers on this problem.

I've had an increasing number of bluescreens over the last couple of weeks which led me to download BlueScreenView to see if it offered any insight. Things I have tried so far:

Initially thinking it was a graphics card driver problem, various clean installs of newer and older versions.
Windows disc check
Windows memory test
11 passes of memtest86
But really I'm just flailing about at this point and don't have a clear idea what to try next. I have attached the files collected with the SF diagnostic tool.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have been getting BSOD only on idle for weeks now and it is driving me crazy. I have tried re installing the drivers for audio and graphics and any other suggestion I could find. Also I have re installed the OS. I am OC to 4.0GHZ but have also tried on stock 3.2GHZ and get the same issues.

This new atikmdag.sys I have not seen before but previously it was saying driver dxgmms or something similar. This crash dmp has now been deleted off my pc for some reason so I cant double check.

Any advice would be great as it is useless for what I want it to do if it wont stay on.

Computer has done this randomly ever since it was built. Sometimes it goes 1 day, sometimes it goes 2 weeks. It is on 24/7, and most of the crashes are while I am not working and it is just idling. Today it crashed while I was typing a post in Chrome.

Used WhoCrashed to find out that 5/6 crashes were ntoskrnl.exe, 1 was rt64win7.sys.
BugCheck names were: memory_management, bad_pool_caller, memory_management, system_service_exception, driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (rt64win7.sys), irql_not_less_or_equal

Have run memcheck and passed all tests with no errors.
After the rt64win7.sys/driver_irql_not_less_or_equal crash the BSOD said it was a tcpip.sys error so I updated my network drivers. Thought that fixed it as I had 15 days of uptime until today's crash.

Now I'm at a loss, hopefully someone can help.

Hi Entropy42.

First of all, Update your ATI/AMD display driver to the latest WHQL. It is too old.

You can get it from the link in our forum, Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

The realtek network driver is not too old; but it is failing (on hardware?).

Update it from Realtek ..... take the Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Auto Installation Program (the 4th one in the list).

Also, Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

i have been having blue screens for around a month mostly while gaming but some times when idle some games have also been quitting randomly which might have something to do with it. i figured out that it has to do with ntoskrnl.exe. i attached a file with only my latest bsod because the others got deleted after running ccleaner. i have also ran memtest and not gotten any errors i will run it 5-8 more times just in case.

Hi there I've been experiencing BSOD every idle couple of weeks) ntoskrnl.exe BSOD while - 0x00000050 (once issues on my computer BSOD (once every couple of weeks) while idle 0x00000050 - ntoskrnl.exe quite recently The issue started to occur when I noticed I had some trojans on my computer via a scan using symantec end point I tried to remove the trojans which were unsuccessful in the end I deleted the infected files manually hoping this would solve the issue This action seemed to corrupt the symantec end point protection program The IT guys uninstalled and then re installed symantec which then resulted in very frequent BSOD errors It seemed as if symantec was installing as corrupt In the end the IT guys installed a newer version of symantec end point this seem to have done the trick I came in on Monday to find that I had a BSOD error over the weekend At this point I ran CHKDISK Memtest repair system file checks you name it BSOD (once every couple of weeks) while idle 0x00000050 - ntoskrnl.exe At this point I believed the error was cleared a week went by and I was living the BSOD free life Today I came in to my computer being off checked the logs and another BSOD I think I've isolated the problem to ntoskrnl exe address in stack ntoskrnl exe f b However I have no idea what is triggering the problem the fact the my BSOD are happening out of work hours when the computer is IDLE is very perplexing I have attached my dump files I have had no recent hardware upgrades within the past months either Any light shed would be a great help Gurus

A:BSOD (once every couple of weeks) while idle 0x00000050 - ntoskrnl.exe

I might not be able to help that much because I'm on my phone so I can't look at the dump files but the bugcheck in the title indicates a page fault in a non paged area, meaning requested data is located in an area of memory that can't be paged out to disk. Anti virus programs, bad memory and corrupted NTFS partitions are the main causes. You said you ran memtest and found no errors so memory is ruled out. I would try replacing the anti virus with a different one, if that fails you try repairing windows.
Edit: I forgot to add that ntoskrnl.exe is the kernel so that isn't the actual cause, it's just that windows can't identify the driver causing the problem so it points it to the kernel.

Hello community,

this week i got some wired BSOD's and i don't know how to fix it. Today scared me because after another BSOD the message came "scanning and repairing drive c" I really would love to remove all my BSOD.

This is my file, really hope to get some feedback: LUKE-di_15-12-2015_231057_70.zip

And what program do you use to find the errors, i can't find any program beside THIS program (BlueScreenView). I can only see what driver went wrong.

Hope to hear soon.

Regards,

Luke

Hi,

New to the forum and with an issue I cannot resolve.
I have done a Memtest - all results OK
I have done a DLGDIAG on Hard Drive - all results OK
I have got all the latest drivers
The crash normally happens between 10pm and 6am when no-one is using the PC and it is idle.
Recently had an issue with overheating which was resolved by Currys (KnowHow) installing a new fan.
Recently upgraded the RAM from 4gb to 16gb
No new programs installed.
I am completely stuck - I have ordered a new Graphics Card (just in case).
Can anyone help please ?

A:BSOD - ntoskrnl.exe+74469 - Random Crashes every day whilst PC is idle

Hi Smoo62.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors. How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.
You said that you have done it, but do as it is said. Take a camera snap of the memtest screen before you close it, and let us see it. It is needed.
If it does not show any error, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers. Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

I have been getting the BSODs for days now started on They happened more or less at random times First time right after boot I launched a browser flash game and that killed it Then I was changing settings of Steam and it died again One more time happened while I was waiting for it to boot was not touching anything even browser games BSOD after boot/idle/playing flash (ntoskrnl.exe) Next time I did not launch any games was just doing browsing It was fine for minutes then I risked starting a flash game again played for minutes - bsod again I don't think all of these got logged but should be around - by now Used the BlueScreenView tool to see that the BSOD (ntoskrnl.exe) after boot/idle/playing browser flash games problem was caused by ntoskrnl exe Tried uninstalling the latest windows update critical update installed on BSOD (ntoskrnl.exe) after boot/idle/playing browser flash games but that did not solve the problem Reinstalling Windows is NOT an option for me since my Windows came on some restore CD thing that formats everything P S Sorry my Windows is in Russian so some of the log files ended up having a lot of Russian in it as well as some weird symbols caused most probably by some encoding errors

Hi,

The driver mentioned in all BSODs = mafw.sys

This is a M-Audio Firewire driver - I assume you have a M-Audio firewire device?

Update the driver from here - http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=support&tab=driver

If that doesn't stop the BSODs then stop using the device for a few days and see if the BSODs stop.

Reventon

I have attached a zip of my minidump folder. Getting random BSOD's. Appears to happen when PC is sitting idle for the most part. Started shortly after Win 7 Pro 64-bit install. This is from an HP 6560b laptop.

It seemed that windbg only shows wdf01000.sys as the problem, but I'm not sure if my symbols are correct or if debugging correctly. I can't seem to find what might actually be causing the wdf01000.sys or what I should reinstall to fix the problem.

I've ran several hardware diagnostics and it doesn't seem to find anything wrong with either the hard drive or RAM chips. There are 2 4GB chips.

Please let me know if more info is needed and thanks for the help!!!!!!

Hey, this is more of a question. My keyboard has been malfunctioning due to liquid damage, so to disable it I installed an incompatible keyboard/touchpad driver intentionally. The day after, I've been getting wdf01000.sys BSOD errors during startup, which brings me to a bootloop a few times, after a few cycles then I'll be able to get into my desktop.

So my question is, can, or rather, is the BSOD error caused by me installing the wrong driver?

Thanks.

A:wdf01000.sys BSOD

What did you install? All the dumps this year are blaming ETD.sys touchpad driver.

You could try uninstalling (or updating) it.

I was running Vista for a couple of years and kept having intermittant BSOD's and unobserved crashes. Mostly what I could see was wdf01000 on the screen before it disappeared. Last week I upgraded to Windows 7 (upgrade in place rather than total reload). I still have the crashes. Sometimes I can go for several days OK and sometimes I will get it several times in a day.

I have an HP Media Center system with AMD Phenam 9500 Quad Core; 3 G RAM; multiple external drives; dual monitors.

How do I send the required info for help with analyzing this?

Hello i used on my comp Advanced system care i'm trying to install almost none unneccessary programs on my workcomp but my BSOD every at boot Wdf01000.sys with mom used ASC and it worked fine with her so i stupidly thought it will be ok with me too What it done was that it updated drivers That was my intention anyway since i hoped that it will help to heal weird color behavior when using two different monitors I do photography But i will come back to this problem later if we will solve this one Since than when started properly few seconds after uploading my desktop it always goes to BSOD In safe mode BSOD with Wdf01000.sys at every boot it still works quite ok So i spent most of the day by searching net with buglogs triyng to determine what driver is causing the collision with no success Finally thru different threads i came to suggestion to post here debug file and ask if someone with windows debbugger can help me out So i'm humbly asking Debug file is attached SIW information can be provided if needed Thanks a lot

A:BSOD error Wdf01000.sys

Hi,

The attached DMP file is of the UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP (7f) bug check.

This bug check indicates that the Intel CPU generated a trap and the kernel failed to catch this trap.

This trap could be a bound trap (a trap the kernel is not permitted to catch) or a double fault (a fault that occurred while processing an earlier fault, which always results in a system failure).

BugCheck 7F, {8, fffff801ab9c8e70, fffff801ab9b3000, fffff8000030cc23}

The 1st parameter of the bug check is 8 or Double Fault, indicates that an exception occurs during a call to the handler for a prior exception. Typically, the two exceptions are handled serially. However, there are several exceptions that cannot be handled serially, and in this situation the processor signals a double fault. There are two common causes of a double fault:A kernel stack overflow. This overflow occurs when a guard page is hit, and the kernel tries to push a trap frame. Because there is no stack left, a stack overflow results, causing the double fault.
A hardware problem.
By default, the dump is faulting Wdf01000.sys which is the WDF Dynamic - Kernel Mode Driver Framework Runtime. It's a core part of Windows and is not the true cause of the crash.
Given you're crashing when using p2p programs... uTorrent, etc, this is most likely a network related issue. Possibly a 3rd party antivirus or firewall software causing conflicts.
Let's go ahead and remove and replace Avira with Windows 8's built-in Windows Defender for troubleshooting purposes:
Avira removal - Avira AntiVir Removal Tool - Download
-----------------------------
If you're still crashing after removing and replacing Avira, let's go ahead and enable Driver Verifier to see if we're dealing with further possible device driver conflicts and or corruption:
Driver Verifier:

What is Driver Verifier?

Driver Verifier is included in Windows 8, 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 to promote stability and reliability; you can use this tool to troubleshoot driver issues. Windows kernel-mode components can cause system corruption or system failures as a result of an improperly written driver, such as an earlier version of a Windows Driver Model (WDM) driver.

Essentially, if there's a 3rd party driver believed to be at issue, enabling Driver Verifier will help flush out the rogue driver if it detects a violation.

Before enabling Driver Verifier, it is recommended to create a System Restore Point:

Vista - START | type rstrui - create a restore point
Windows 7 - START | type create | select "Create a Restore Point"
Windows 8 - Restore Point - Create in Windows 8

How to enable Driver Verifier:

Start > type "verifier" without the quotes > Select the following options -

1. Select - "Create custom settings (for code developers)"
2. Select - "Select individual settings from a full list"
3. Check the following boxes -
- Special Pool
- Pool Tracking
- Force IRQL Checking
- Deadlock Detection
- Security Checks (Windows 7 & 8)
- DDI compliance checking (Windows 8)
- Miscellaneous Checks
4. Select - "Select driver names from a list"
5. Click on the "Provider" tab. This will sort all of the drivers by the provider.
6. Check EVERY box that is NOT provided by Microsoft / Microsoft Corporation.
7. Click on Finish.
8. Restart.

Important information regarding Driver Verifier:

- If Driver Verifier finds a violation, the system will BSOD.

- After enabling Driver Verifier and restarting the system, depending on the culprit, if for example the driver is on start-up, you may not be able to get back into normal Windows because Driver Verifier will flag it, and as stated above, that will cause / force a BSOD.

If this happens, do not panic, do the following:

- Boot into Safe Mode by repeatedly tapping the F8 key during boot-up.

- Once in Safe Mode - Start >... Read more

Running the last 10 memory dumps (14 total dating from 31 May to the present)

Device drivers for your MW810 DISPLAY USB video device ( USB\\VID_0CAD&PID_9008\\00000777 ) haven't been installed. Please install the most updated, Win7 compatible drivers for this device (or simply remove it from the system until we're finished testing and the system is stabilized).

The memory dumps blame Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge Driver ( silabser.sys )
Please replace the driver with the latest, Win7 compatible version (even if the latest version is already on the system - this'll help to rule out corruption of the drivers). More info on this driver here: Driver Reference Table - silabser.sys

Please update the drivers dated from 2008 and 2009 in the list below. Below the list are a number of links for each driver (those not listed haven't been added to the table yet - a google/bing search should help locate them).

I'm getting random crashes on my laptop Toshiba Portege R830 3G. I'm sure it's a driver issue but can't find which one. wdf01000.sys is the error I'm getting now. I used to get KeyAgent.sys and another one phx....?? which I've since removed.

Hello and welcome McBanjo mate in the dump files I see some references to TeeDriver which relates to the Intel Management Engine Interface Driver. Now my wifi is very poor at the moment as I am away from home the driver for the Engine is here but which one you should update I have no idea because a search for your machine is taking so long. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...agement+engine

Now the problem or the issue with Toshibas as I have found over the years is one must use the PART NO which is on a sticker on the bottom of the machine - it dictates where it was made and for what area it was made for ie Asia US etc etc see my pic of my older Toshiba's sticker (an Australian bought Satellite) and let us know what that is and when we know that PART NO it can pinpoint the exact stuff (information re components etc) we need to know.

Hi,

I recently updated my system from Win7 32-bit to 64-bit doing a clean install, with no changes to hardware. Since updating I get a BSOD periodically, sometimes from something as innocuous as clicking a link on a webpage in Firefox. From WhoCrashed I don't get much useful information but it's always the same thing as indicated in the title.

I have updated my NVIDIA video drivers and disabled hardware components I'm not using, but the problem persists. I've attached the requested output from the posting instructions.

Additional information:
System is barebones MSI Media Live, NVidia Motherboard
Video card is onboard NVIDIA 6150LE
CPU is AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual core
4 GB RAM installed
OS - Windows 7 64-bit
Prior (working) OS was Win 7 32 bit
Using full retail version of Win 7 ultimate
Hardware is 2 years old
OS was reinstalled 2 weeks ago

Looks like a firewire device you have connected isn't making your PC very happy. Try to update chipset drivers for your motherboard if you are using onboard firewire, or the drivers for whatever card you have installed that is for firewire. Unplug your firewire device(devices) until the problem is resolved in order to find the offending device. Then determine if you need to update firmware for that firewire device.

The Driver Verifier crashes were caused by a false positive due to one of the checks you selected. Contrary to what the article says, there are two other checks besides Low Resource Sim you should also not check: IRP Logging and Force Pending I/O Requests. The latter is especially true for commonly causing false positives.

Anyways, the other bugchecks described a WDF driver violation caused by a bug in some driver. That driver is the Motionjoy MijXfilt.sys driver, which is commonly used for hooking up console controllers to the PC. You may be able to fix the problem by following this thread. You may need to forgo using Motionjoy, as this most likely isn't a driver conflict but just that there's a bug in this driver.

It appears that your install of windows is counterfeit, the product ID matches an Acer/Gateway/Packard while the motherboard you are using is a retail ASrock motherboard. This is only possible through an exploit that bypasses the genuine activation.

Please purchase a legal copy of windows we do not support piracy in any form on this forum. We also find it futile to try and troubleshoot a cracked version of windows as the cracked used to by pass activation can often times be the cause of problems to begin with. Once you have a legal copy of windows please format your drives and re-install using the legal copy of windows.

KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000008e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.

Hi all I random 3 BSOD - Wdf01000.sys, Surface have a Microsoft surface not the pro which recently had a blue screen after running a simple LabVIEW vi for about hours very low load When looking for the minidump I noticed and remembered the same thing happened little over a month ago I'm pretty sure it happened at a very random moment that time Windbg states Wdf sys as the cause in both files After looking around on the BSOD random - Wdf01000.sys, Surface 3 net I found someone suggesting to run driver verifier which I did This caused the tablet to crash multiple times with really nothing running These minidumps are in the attached file as well they have different causes though blaming either volmgr or pci sys So to sum it up the two oldest minidumps are real random BSOD's the other ones happened while running driver verifier I know there are countless threads about BSOD's with Wdf sys as the subject but they all ended up having such different causes which I don't know how they were determined that I'm hoping you guys can help me out Thanks Vincent

Hi, I've been getting BSODs basically every day for the past week. The most recent one had bugcheck 0x0000003b (0x00000000c0000005, 0xfffff88000f0163f, 0xfffff8800daddbf0, 0x0000000000000000). For some reason my system won't save any minidumps so there aren't any of those available. I tried using windbg on this last one but it gives me this when I try to analyze it:

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

Good afternoon Let me start by saying that I'm not a huge techie There are a lot of things I know about computers but much more that I don't know I'm hoping you all can help me save my desktop computer without having to lose years of files I can't replace I updated my computer from Win Pro to Win several months ago and it has been working fine until last night And before anyone asks no I was stupid and never made a recovery disk I kept telling myself I needed to do so but I forgot Last night I was running an update to the AMD Catalyst Suite to get updated drivers for my video card While that was running I had Firefox open and was BSOD to Wdf01000.sys Unable Reboot checking my email All of the sudden I got a BSoD telling me something had gone wrong and my computer needed to restart but it gave me absolutely no Wdf01000.sys BSOD Unable to Reboot info on what had gone wrong I assume though that it's related to the video driver update I was attempting My computer restarted and then got stuck in an auto repair loop It would find nothing to repair then would restart and go right back into the auto repair again At this point I have no access to Wdf01000.sys BSOD Unable to Reboot the system except by command line These are the fixes I have tried so far from various sources online in roughly the order I tried them Restore Point - I only have restore points for some reason and I've tried to restore to all of them but they all fail Startup Repair - Have tried this or times restarting after each attempt with no change Startup Options - I've tried changing all of the startup options and got nothing I can't even boot into Safe Mode Ran chkdsk - Everything checked out fineManually attempted to rebuild the BCD and repair MCR - Found this one online to use command line prompts to manually run the bootrec utility Everything seemed to work fine but no change Disabled autorepair - A little progress here Got out of the loop and got some actual info finally At this point now I boot up to a blue screen that tells me Windows could not load because a critical file WINDOWS system drivers Wdf sys is missing or corrupted This reinforces my theory that the video driver update fubar'd and caused the problem Using the command line interfac I navigated to that directory and confirmed the file is there so it must be corrupt I renamed the file to Wdf sys old and restarted hoping the system might rebuild the file but that didn't work so I restored the name So then I moved on to some other attempted fixes Ran sfc scan from command line - Worked fine but nothing changedRestored Windows registry from the command line - Worked fine but no changeBroke down and tried a system reset with the option to retain my files It ran for a bit then gave me a message that it couldn't be completed and no changes were made I'm truly lost here The only thing I can see left to do is completely wipe and reset but I have files I need on that computer that can't be replaced and I have no USB drive big enough to hold them that I might be able to use the command line to copy files to Is there anything else I can do Maybe a place I can download a clean version of the sys file and replace the one on my computer Or any other option Especially considering I don't even know a complete reset will work considering the option to reset and keep my files didn't work

A:BDOS when Idle - ntfs.sys and ntoskrnl.exe

Hi SganskeKRME.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

A:BSOD in Wdf01000!FxIoQueue when computer goes to sleep (I think)

Looks like a driver is not performing a power IRP properly, and it appears it involves Remote Desktop USB hub operations. I see you have both a VM host application and Logmein present. I'm thinking these and/or perhaps other software I'm not aware of involving Remote Desktop is conflicting on each other. I recommend updating whatever related software you have, and perhaps even uninstall one or more of them to discover which one's causing the problems.

I'm also worried that there's a WHEA crash for one of the dump files. It's telling that during an undetermined write operation involving the CPU's L0 Data cache there was an issue. This happened while running some benchmark software (benchmark.exe). Typically this is a problem with an actual piece of hardware, but VM software can also trigger this, as well as software that comes with your motherboard. I recommend removing any software that came with your motherboard and only leaving drivers.

Right now this is all based on an educated guess from what I've discovered so far. If you want something better, you're going to either turn on Driver Verifier and provide me crashdumps triggered by it, or send me a kernel dump (MEMORY.DMP in Windows directory) by zipping it up and uploading to a site like Mirrorcreator.com.

Analysts:

Two crashdumps identical, in that it appears when attempting to perform some Power IRP using the WDF, it's bugging out. I can't tell what device/driver is involved directly without access to a kernel dump. However, I can get a general idea from the raw stack, provided it wasn't leftovers from some bygone operation.

So I get a BSOD when I'm playing games so I figured it was just the system overheating. Seems vented well enough but still I wasn't sure what was tripping things up. I've updated every driver ...ran all windows updates...still happens.

I've attached the dump files for the BSOD forum but I'm not skilled enough to dive deeper into them and find out whats causing the crash.

Please uninstall the below Asrock bundled apps completely from the system and let me know whether it helps.

XFast LAN v6.61 (Version: 6.61)
XFastUSB (Version: 3.02.31)

ASRock 3TB+ Unlocker v1.1
ASRock eXtreme Tuner v0.1.335
ASRock XFast RAM v2.0.28

These are nothing but troubles ( adds a lot of unnecessary drivers) and the XFastUSB seems to be directly involved in the crashes.

Hello,
I am in a very difficult situation having BSOD in my new iMac i5 3.4 8gb, ssd 500gb running windows 7 in Bootcamp.
It happens randomly ,1 Bsod per 2weeks while running an Audio producer software (Sonar x3).
The last time it happens in front of my clients and the project file corrupted so i waste many hours of work...plus the embarrassment!
I am running an audio interface via Firewire(thunderbolt adapter) and never had that issue with my old Pc although the setup was the same.
The first 2 Bsod i had,was about (as i understood) the legacy firewire windows driver, which i change for more compatibility. Now i set it back to default but the BSoD continues...refering to the Wdf01000.sys file...
This is a work machine and i am very disappointed with this situation...until i found this forum...it's a bless..
Thank you,
Antony

Hi awaker.

The issue seems to be related with Yamaha Steinberg. Not with the device or driver (at least that I am thinking ATM) but with the driver of the port to which it is connected.

Follow this guide: How to Revert the Win7 1394ohci.sys to the Legacy Driver

Let us know the result.

Only 35 updates since SP1 - most systems have 75 to 80 (or more). Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates.

Android Phone USB device may not be working properly. Please uninstall it to see if that helps. Leave it uninstalled until the system is stable again.

There's a fair presence of Symantec in your memory dumps. I'd suggest testing to see if that's the problem. To do that, please try this:
- download a free antivirus for testing purposes: Free AntiVirus
- uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection
- install the free antivirus and immediately update it
- monitor for further BSOD's

It looks like there's a USB Video device, but we don't have a record of the drivers for it in the DRT (Driver Reference Table located here: Driver Reference Table (DRT) ) I'll have to look them up (and add them to the table) in order to see what device it actually belongs to (I think it's from Magic Control).

Meanwhile I'd check to see if the device that you're using is here: USB Display Adapter-Magic Control Technology Corp.
http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-d...edictable.html
If so, uninstall the current drivers for it on the system and then download a fresh copy from that website and install them. Ensure that the driver is Win7 compatible BEFORE installing it!!!

If all of this doesn't fix the problem, then we have to start looking at hardware issues. Please try the free diagnostics here: http://www.carrona.org/hwdiag.html

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

This only recently started happening on my laptop, and only in the specific circumstance of building an Android project from Unity. I included the log zip below, hopefully I follow the instructions correctly.

PC specs:
Windows 7 64-bit

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560m
8GB RAM

and my phone is a Droid 4. Any references in the logs to Motorola or "moto" are probably referring to that.

Hey Folks,

Started happening just recently and pretty interesting. I know I am due for a crash when my computer no longer auto-sleeps and my DAC (basically a USB soundcard to non audiophiles) will no longer output sound. What is interesting is that it does not actually crash unless I unplug the DAC from my USB hub and then plug it back in. Doing so causes an immediate BSOD. As far as I can tell the computer won't crash until I mess with the DAC (but no other option but a restart if I want sound.) Greatly appreciate the help!

I have a Dell XPS 13 with Windows 10 (fully updated).  Recently I have been getting a BSOD with the above error message.  It is occuring with increasing frequency -- but with no obvious pattern.  I have run the requested tool and the SysnativeFileCollectionApp.zip file is attached as is the perfmon.html file.

Answers to questions:

OS:  Windows 10 Pro (installed July 2015 via download...originally a Win 8 system).  Win 10 download was smooth, no issues on install
x64 based processor
Dell XPS 13 laptop (XPS 13 9333( which is 2 years old

CPU -- Intel i7 4500u
Video Card - Intel HD graphics

Any assistance that can be provided in resolving this problem is greatly appreciated.

Hi there I've spent a lot of time trying to diagnose what's causing random BSOD and crashes on one of our PCs we use to stream to Twitch Frankly I've wasted so much time already it's time to see if anyone can see something of value from these dump files These are the latest dumps from a reformatted Windows Home Premium SP x as many of the latest drivers I could find for graphics mobo etc all windows updates and removed the SSD we thought could have been causing the issue We have run stress tests and checks using Memtest prime furmark and so on Even with both GPU and CPU at it didn't crash or produce errors yet will crash at a random point and usually fairly quickly with streaming but other times when just playing a game I believe this rules out the PSU CPU GPU overheating and memory but perhaps the hard drive is at fault I couldn't seem to get WinDbg setup to tell me more information and WhoCrashed's information is pretty while Bugcheck streaming using usually wdf01000 code: OBS, BSOD 0xD3, vague BIOS is at the latest BSOD usually while streaming using OBS, Bugcheck code: 0xD3, wdf01000 version for the motherboard too If there's any more information that would help please let me know In the past the BSOD errors have been relating to IRQL or mention quot A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval quot but with these recent dumps on the newly installed W the errors have changed again Attached is the output from DM Log Collector Any help in narrowing down the source s of these errors would be very helpful It's possible it's hardware related but ideally I need to know which part so I don't waste more time and money Jam

Hi SirJam,

Welcome to the 7forums.

It seems the CPU is reporting an error with the internal timer.
What are the temps from your CPU when idle and under load?
If you are overclocking anything, revert back to stock while troubleshooting.
Please make sure your BIOS is set for default settings.

Update it here.

I would also enable Driver Verifier is this doesn't help.

Enable driver verifier but only enable the options: Standard settings and IRP logging step 3.
Don't enable Force Pending I/O Requests

Enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier -Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information

We use Driver Verifier as it puts a stress on the drivers, and so it makes the unstable drivers crash. This should flag the driver responsible in the dump file.
It

Driver Verifier will make the system laggy, this is normal so don't worry.

Before enabling DV, make sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer.

If there are no points, make a System Restore Point Manually

Post back the results.

Hello,
I have recently bought a used PC and changed the case for a new one, so I rewired the entire system. Since then, the PC keeps crashing when I download large games off steam and sometimes it crashes while I'm watching videos on youtube. Two errors show at different times when it crashes and the main error is: driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (wdf01000.sys) and the other one is: driver_irql_not_less_or_equal (usbxhci.sys).

Here is the dump file.

Welcome to SevenForums.

All the blue screens seem to be caused by VMware USB monitor.

Make sure this program is not running in the background while your playing games.

Click on the Start ► Control Panel ► Programs ► Uninstall a program ► Uninstall everything related to; VMware USB monitor/or something similar. Delete remnants of its drivers/older drivers using Driver Fusion/Sweeper. Download and install them afresh from: Driver Reference Table

Just another suggestion that is:

Code:
Start Menu\Programs\System\Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security ThePwnLaptop\Jason:Start Menu\Programs\System\Trend Micro Titanium Internet Security ThePwnLaptop\Jason
Can often contribute in BSOD-s. Suggest you to uninstall it and use Microsoft Security Essentials. (TO TEST).

Recommended antivirus program for Windows 7 based on stability compared to others:-
Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows
Microsoft Security Essentials Download | Free Spyware Protection
Malwarebytes - The Free version
Good and Free system security combination.
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:
Click on the
Type CMD on Search
Left click and Run as Administrator
Type SFC /scannow
Full tutorial here:SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
Run Disk Check on your hard disk for file system errors and bad sectors on it:Disk Check
Hope that helps for now,

From what I see here, the System does not have enough RAM and a lot of TCP/IP traffic has just begun. As the 'problem' occurs on 3 machines, have you tried rebooting the router/switch/hub (common factor)?

 NVIDIA GPU

You've also received a 0x116 which is a VIDEO_TDR_ERROR (Timeout Detection & Recovery) which means your GPU driver has crashed and has failed to recover in time. This could be down to the driver, the card itself or possibly the power to the card.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Alcohol 120% at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Next uninstall Virtual CloneDrive, as vclone.sys is as fatal as SPTD.sys, too.
After doing these two, report the situation back.

**************UPDATE 5 ****************

The sequence of events went as follows.
RAM test 1 pass was passed. Verifier.exe caused immediate BSOD on windows start when activated. Trying to hunt down drivers revealed any combo of 3 or more drivers gave BSOD at startup. Randomly decided to recheck RAM. Failed memtest after 27 minutes pass 1. Found one RAM stick that passed after one pass slot0. Got fed up of waiting for other slot's. Devised a plan to use verifier to check the RAM by seeing which combo's of RAM sticks gave BSOD on startup. All combo's passed. And now verifier does not give BSOD on any setting. Began to hate life. Cheered myself up with prospect of sleep. Put all 16 Gb RAM in properly and ran mentest for 18 hours, 6 passes. No error. Still no verifier.exe errors when enabled. Wrote this update.

If RAM failed after 27min one test, and then after swapping around a retest of 18 hours has no error, one would presume the RAM may be ok. Equally, I believe one could say the RAM is suspect. So, if the test is failed it really doesn't tell us anything except there is a problem somewhere. But we know there is a problem since we have BSOD!!! If I hadn't rerun the test I wouldn't question the RAM.

So the question is: how do I categorically ensure that a stick of RAM is good? Is memtest on RAM with an alternative working computer enough?

In summary:

I ran memtest for 18 hours, which was 6 passes. No problems detected. Using verifier.exe with protocols given on this forum I no longer get BSOD.

Currently my hypothesis is that the RAM was never seated correctly, or given that it takes a bit of force to insert correctly into motherboard, the flexing has at least temporarily defused whatever fault was causing my BSOD. Tenuous I know. But I really have no other explanation other than something somewhere on the motherboard or power is failing, or even the RAM.

I'm getting random Blue Screens and can't figure out why. I'm not running any hardcore programs. I'm mostly just using Microsoft Office and Firefox. The BSOD's seem to happen when I'm in Outlook, Excel or Firefox. Haven't been able to determine exactly which at the time as I'm moving back and forth between them quite often.

I've tried the SFC command and it didn't find anything. I used BlueScreenViewer but not a lot of help. All drivers for sound and video have been updated. I've also updated the firmware to the Crucial M4 SSD version 040H.

Any insight would be great.

A:Random BSOD Reporting ntoskrnl.exe+75c40 & ntoskrnl.exe+7efc0

Update the firmware of your Crucial M4-CT256M4SSD2.

And, Uninstall McAfee Using McAfee Removal Tool. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Free up the startup.
Click on the Start button
Type “msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the “Startup” tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus and touchpad driver SynTPEnh.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Let us know the results.

When I put my pc in sleep mode it often crashes: the screen goes normally in sleep mode, but the pc continues to stay awake for several minutes than BSOD & restart or BSOD & shut off.
Thanks to BlueScreenView I found what is seemingly the guilty process, but I don't know what to do now.
