Preferred Solution: BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL -Help Please!!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

1. Good and Free system security combination.
Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Make a full scan once downloaded, installed and updated.

Hello again WSF

I got two BSOD's within a 2 hour interval (both dumps attached)
Unfortunately I did not have DriverVerifier enabled on either of them, but I have enabled it now so if any further BSOD occur (wich I strongly expect) it will upload the dumps.
Any help is much appreciated.

I have read many different forums driver_irql_not_less_or_equal Bsod to no avail the stop error is x D the answers im finding are that a driver is accessing random high memory it happens all the time in normal mode and only occasionally in safe mode I was able to get into the Bsod driver_irql_not_less_or_equal device manager before the BSOD and found that there are drivers not installed The VGA NIC and base system devices i have tried to load these in both normal and safe mode but it blue screens before it finishes the install I tried to do an inplace upgrade but someone in microsofts design team Bsod driver_irql_not_less_or_equal decided that it will not let you do it in safe mode and guess what the machine blue screens before the cd will run in normal mode I got this from a closed post here on this forum That bugcheck xd means that a driver trying to access invalid memory If you're somewhat technical you could potentially figure out what you're doing when this happens and hope to guess which driver this what im doing is just powering on the machine If you're very technical you could put this under the debugger and get the stack for when this is happening which should indicate the bad driver the event viewer is pointing toward the Network card If you're not very technical your local computer shoppe - or the people that sold you this - could potentially try to determine why you're getting a DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL error Any Help would be grateful

Have had these the last few days. Also my internet is very slow and lags quite a bit and wondering if this could be related. But basically i had to restart computer many times because of this. Windows 7 i use i7 quad core laptop sager 8gb ram and 250gb ssd.

Can someone explain what is this?

A:BSOD Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_Or_Equal

Follow the instructions here: Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions

Without dump files, nobody can help you. However, a quick explanation to that this bug check means a driver tried to access an address that is pageable (or that is completely invalid) while the IRQL (Interrupt Request Level) was too high.

This bug check is usually caused by drivers that have used improper addresses. Without a dump file, nobody can help you on what driver might have been at fault.

Hello

Im get an increasing amounts of BSOD nearly all driver_irql_not_less_or_equal errors. I've done a number of things I have search through forums but with no success.

I suspect it to be my wireless adapter, it isn't windows 7 compatible but works using a Ralink software. I have already tried re-installing the software and drivers but still get BSOD.

My specs:
Window 7 Home Premium x64 retail (downloaded version, have no disk)
AMD x2 4800+
2 Gb OCZ RAM
XFX Radon 6850

Thanks in advance

Five different types of crashes. All seem to point to hardware BUT I suspect it is your Symantec that is truly causing the problems.

How To Find Drivers:

Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html

I was refered from the Norton Forums after I complained about my computer crashing twice and giving me the BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.  I use sfc /scannow and got no errors and my Norton said if that came up with no errors I might have a infection in my wdf01000.sys file.  Anyways I would like to get this situation resolved because I need my computer for College work.  I think I got the log files right after a few minutes too.

Yes, it is that pesky tcpip.sys again I believe.

I tried resetting the tcp/ip from the cmd prompt but it was not successful. My history of BSOD's goes as follows.

First BSOD about a month ago. Second a month after. Third, fourth, fifth all today after I attempted to reset tcp/ip.

I have no idea what to do now, because I am unsure how to upgrade different drivers and such.

My build is as follows:
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
(note a did a clean install from vista home, unlike others who have been having this BSOD error)

Any suggestions because I'm about a week away from taking it in to the good ole shop.

These crashes were caused by your tcpip.sys I would run a system file check.

to do that type cmd in search>right click and run as admin> sfc /scannow (note the space between sfc and "/")

Let us know the results

Lately I've been getting the blue screen every time I start a Steam game, like TF2 or L4D. I'm posting this under software because according to my friend it could be a problem with PCI slot conflictions. I've updated drivers for my video card, sound card, and motherboard. I've reset the virtual memory in my PC. Nothing seems to have fixed the issue. If it helps, here are the list of PCI items. I am on Windows XP.

MSINFO32 report shows 5 memory dumps:
2 - STOP 0x1A
3 - STOP 0x3B

Of these 5, 2 blame the afwcore.sys driver (the others blame Windows components) - a component of your Outpost firewall.
Please uninstall the Outpost firewall, then follow these directions to remove any remnants of it: http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum...ead.php?t=7173

You can use this free firewall control tool for the Windows Firewall if you must have finer firewall control: http://www.sphinx-soft.com/Vista/

Also, please remove the Riva Tuner from your system (the driver for it is from 2007).

My comp has crashed twice giving me BSOD. I hoped yesterday that it was just a one time thing, but sure enough it happened again today. Nothing in particular seems to set them off (the first time I was browsing the web, today I was playing Mass Effect). I'm guessing the problem stems from a dated driver, but afaik everything is up to date.

Normally I try to solve my own problems, but I don't know how to run a debug program. Attached is the contents of my Minidump folder. If you need more information please let me know.

A:Bsod-driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

On December 27, 2009 you had 5 STOP 0x124 BSOD's (usually hardware or compatibility issues)
Then you were BSOD free until yesterday (January 9, 2010) when you had a STOP 0xD1- a period of 13 days.
Info on the STOP 0x124: BSOD Index
Info on the STOP 0xD1: BSOD Index

What did you do to the system after the December BSOD's? This is probably more important than the analysis of the dump file(s).

The last dump file points to the Windows kernel, which isn't usually a factor (if it was, you'd have a lot more problems than just an occasional BSOD). So, let's see what was done to the system and if we can't find anything, then we'll try running Driver Verifier.

Please update or remove these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager. Please use the following instructions to locate the most current drivers:

Quote:
How To Find Updated Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

Here's the older drivers:

Code:
ctac32k.sys Wed Jul 02 04:38:22 2008 - Creative Audio driver
dadder.sys Thu Aug 02 05:33:03 2007 - DeathAdder Mouse driver

I get Driver_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I have read the BSOD directions and hopefully have done it right. I have included a attachment that includes Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 and PERFMON HTML file. Can someone please help as not sure what to do, Thanks

Hi just following the instructions of this thread here to try and get my bsod fixed!

? OS - Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit
? What was original installed OS on system? - Home Built
? Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? Full Retail
? Age of system (hardware) I would say the oldest is the mobo or cpu, which is about 3 or 4 years old, however was bought brand new less than 2 years ago
? Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? Just did it! about 3 days ago
? CPU - AMD Athlon 6400+ Black Edition
? Video Card - Geforce GTX 460
? MotherBoard - ASUS M2N32-Sli Deluxe
? Power Supply - 750 Watt, Made by High Power

Thanks!

This is most likely a graphics card issue but there are enough other issues that I'd suggest that you fix them first.

Please uninstall Daemon Tools as it has issues with Win7 on some systems. Feel free to reinstall it after we're done troubleshooting. It's in your startups, but I wasn't able to find it in the installed programs list.

Please remove or update these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager.
Please use the following instructions to locate the most currently available drivers to replace the one's that you uninstall OR remove:

Quote:

How To Find Drivers:
- I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box below. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html

Here's the older drivers (You can look them up here: http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html ).
Please pay particular attention to any dated 2008 or earlier:

Code:

SI3132.sys Wed Oct 03 14:41:04 2007 (4703E240) - Silicon Image driver - http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html#SI3132.sys
SiWinAcc.sys Thu Jun 14 20:02:27 2007 (4671D713) - Silicon Image driver - comes with package for the SIxxxx drivers - http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html#SiWinAcc.sys
SiRemFil.sys Wed Jun 20 16:06:09 2007 (467988B1) - Silicon Image driver - http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html#SiRemFil.sys
AmdLLD.sys Fri Jun 29 15:47:32 2007 (468561D4) - AMD Low Level Device Driver - http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html#AmdLLD.sys
ASACPI.sys Thu Aug 12 22:52:52 2004 (411C2D04) - Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility (a known BSOD maker) - http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html#ASACPI.sys
adfs.SYS Thu Aug 14 10:57:15 2008 (48A447CB) - Adobe File System Driver - http://www.carrona.org/dvrref.html#adfs.SYS

If all of this doesn't stop the issues, then here's info on the STOP 0x116 error (the video card error that I mentioned earlier): http://www.carrona.org/bsodindx.html#0x00000116

I've been getting a BSOD lately, I'm not really sure what's causing it. Three have occurred so far. Currently I'm installing drivers for my video card, chipset, and sound card, to see if that helps at all.

My computer was just purchased, the only new hardware I added was a mouse, headphones, and a USB wireless adapter. I highly doubt the mouse or headphones would cause any problems though.

My OS is Vista 64 Home Premium.

Edit: Just uploaded the permon and TSF Support info.

A:Bsod: Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

If you use administrative tools and the look in event viewer the bsod event should be recorded there and this will hopefully give info about which device is causing the issue.
If your laptop has a dialup modem I would try disabling this.
If this does not help then disconnect all usb dongles and see if the bsod events continue.
If the comouter is ok like this then add usb devices one at a time ( use the computer for a while) until the bsod returns. As you are using 64 bit vista make sure that your usb device drivers are 64 bit compatible

That is a driver issue usually related to ethernet card or video card. Try to find the newest drivers from Nvidia for the video card and the motherboard mfgr for ethernet card.
Also it could possibly be power so please give us make and model of power supply unit where if you take side off the case there will be a plate on the psu you can read off this information.

The memory dump points to your wireless USB networking adapter - netr28ux.sys Download the latest version of the Windows 7 driver from the device manufacturer's website. If they don't have a 64 bit version, please post back.

Then uninstall the current wireless drivers.
Then install the freshly downloaded drivers.

Hi I've BSOD Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal started having trouble with a BSOD that seems to be popping up randomly This has started happening recently My specs OS Windows x full retail version Age I built the system about years ago Never reinstalled OS CPU AMD Phenom II t running stock but I plan to overlock BSOD Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal it later Motherborad ASUS M A TD Pro Power Supply W it's branded but can't remember exact name Will look inside if need be Video Card Radeon HD RAM gigs The only thing that I can think of that I've done recently which may be related to this BSOD is that I uninstalled and then reinstalled the latest version of the catalyst drivers for my video card In addition for a while my computer wouldn't even boot up because of a conflict with my RAM sticks I removed the sticks then inserted them back in only changing up which sticks I put into which slot and now that problem has disappeared I've attached the rar of my report as per the instructions in the sticky Any guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

The dumps collected by the app here are ~3 years old. Please ensure all these settings check out:

1. Start > type %systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.

2. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives'.

3. Windows key + Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system log'.

Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.

4. Double check that the WERS is ENABLED:

Start > Search > type services.msc > Under the name tab, find Windows Error Reporting Service > If the status of the service is not Started then right click it and select Start. Also ensure that under Startup Type it is set to Automatic rather than Manual. You can do this by right clicking it, selecting properties, and under General selecting startup type to 'Automatic', and then click Apply.

If you cannot get into normal mode to do any of this, please do this via Safe Mode.

Patrick

So I own an Alienware Area- Since the first time I got the computer I always had my share Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal Bsod, of BSOD and random freezes Even though I would try to resolve the problems with them I would only get adviced to do a clean Windows Installation which was the case the second day I got the computer Since then the freezes and BSODs have been up and down but lately it had been increasing There were even instances of failed XP boots resulting in me doing several Dskchk r to solve the issues Well after going through all this I decided to take one of my gig ram sticks out and the problem has significantly decreased I have yet to have a failing XP boot and the amount of freezing has nearly vanished But in the rare instances when it does crash it actually shows a BSOD that I didn t see before which states DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL X D X A X X X C The earlier BSOD s Bsod, Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal were Kernel related and this one is not I really would like to know what is wrong with this computer and I am aware that I am not giving all that much information and for that excuse me I mainly would like to know if the ram stick I took out was indeed truly faulty if not I would definitely like to go back to having gigs of ram Thank you for Bsod, Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal your time and your help

Hello Oglocscagger420 and welcome to the SevenForums,

Although I won't be assisting you with debugging your BSoD since I don't have enough spare time on my hands, I will be giving you some initial advice;

Code:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600
Please install Service Pack 1 and all available updates to make sure that your system runs stable.
Please read this before installing; How to install Service Pack 1
Service Pack Center

----------

Please reduce the items that run at start up. You basically only need your anti virus to run at start up, all other programs are not necessary and can be removed from the start up list.
Check this tutorial to see how to add or remove start up items.

----------

Looking at your drivers I see that most of them date back to 2009 or even before, this is very old.
I'd suggest you to update all drivers from the list below you can find to make sure that outdated/faulty/failing drivers don't contribute to your issue.

I seem to only be getting this BSOD when I'm playing games (SWTOR/TOR). And I don't recall it happening on the x86 version, and I have the same programs/drivers installed as I did on x86, except I'm using the x64 versions where available.

Please find attached the "Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2.zip" file and the output file of the Performance Monitor results.

- Windows 7 Professional 64 bit
- Not-Original OS
- Full Retail
- All hardware is > 1 year old, most is older than two years
- OS is around a month old (reinstalled over 32 bit version after drive was formatted)

A:Bsod - driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

Uninstall your iobit malware fighter software. A driver belonging to that program is causing the crashes.

Is the error exactly the same this time? If it is I would try reinstalling the driver for your wireless adapter.

Hi

As a rule (though not always) if you cannot find a file name searching with Google then it is very likely malware or a virus.
Therefore I would like you to check for Viruses/Malware by starting a new thread in the Virus/Malware support section.

First you should read the "First Steps" document and gather all the required reports.
If you cannot complete any step, just skip it but be sure to include this information in your post
Then start a new thread in the virus/malware section and attach the reports you have created.

Hello there, I would really appreciate some help! During a routine automatic windows update on Wednesday morning, following the automatic restarting of my computer, I have been getting the BSOD It now will only load up in safe mode. After much googling of the problem, and much hair pulling, my limited knowledge of computers has led me here!

I have followed the instructions posted, but am unable to complete step 3?

Specs:
Windows 7
? x86 (32-bit)
? What was original installed OS on system? - Windows 7
? Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from retailer)? - OEM Version
? Age of system (hardware) - Nearly 3 years
? Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? Haven't reinstalled

Intel Celeron 1.8 ghz
3GB RAM

? System Manufacturer - ACER Aspire 5332
? Exact model number (if laptop, check label on bottom) - KAWF0

Thanks in advance

A:BSOD - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I ran the last 9 all are the same athrx.sys the Atheros network adapter driver is what's causing the problem.

I checked the Acer site they still have the 2009 drivers there have been at least 3 updates since, this is the best site I know to get them from > Drivers for Atheros AR5B92 and Windows 7 It's a bit confusing but scroll down and click on the box I high lighted in the image below otherwise it'll be an an advertisement.

Also I have tries starting in safe mode and it takes mebto user login. Then straight back to bsod when I log on. I have also tried restoring back a few months ago from the advanced boot options. But half way through the restore it says it cannot load a perticularly file for the restore. Something to do with nvidia suggesting its the video card driver. I have no idea what my options are. I really need the contents of my computer for work. I would appreciate any advise I can get. Cheers.

Background reading: http://blogs.msdn.com/ndis/archive/2006/11...s-or-equal.aspxI don't see anything that points to a specific driver, so I can't hazard a guess what the problem might be.FWIW: http://www.techspot.com/vb/all/windows/t-7...tkrnlpaexe.htmlBased on that link and the non-specification of a given driver...I suggest running Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool - http://www.memtest.org/#downiso I would run Memtest86+ for a minimum of an hour, but probably through a complete cycle. A cycle takes about 2.5 hours on this system I'm on.In the event of any errors, note the error (write down the details reflected onscreen). Any errors indicate a potential RAM problem.LouisOne other thing which you can do is Disable Auto Reboot On System Crash - http://www.theeldergeek.com/auto_reboot_on_system_crash.htm Doing that might possibly provide more details of BSODs in Event Viewer.

Hi I'm new to this and am looking for some help with my blue screen issue. I've recently had a variety of BSOD at seemingly random times when playing 3D games, but after reloading some drivers, etc I'm now getting just this one below. I haven't had a BSOD outside of a game.

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
***STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x0000005B, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0xb44b8C18)

I've tried removing and reinstalling the realtek driver with no luck and I've run a memtest and it didn't find any errors. From searching around for solutions it seems like the best thing I could do at this point is ask for advice. I've attached the minidump folder since i've seen people asking for them in similar situations.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I was merely browsing a website I usually go to and the next thing i get is this BSOD. It was my first time getting it so i followed instructions which said if this is your first time restart. So I restart the computer after it had finished dumping physical memory and then I realise that my computer won't boot up. The power goes on and the machine makes a noise but it doesnt 'beeb' like it usually does to indicate that it is loading. My monitor just says out of range but i don't think my computer is actually loading. Its like the lights are on but nobodies home!

Please help I need it desperatly.

Hi all,

Having a BSOD issue that pops up once or twice a day and apparently randomly.

error message is: Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal

I attempted to follow the posting rules but I was unable to dl the Windows 7 & Vista EXE file (dead link? Server Busy?) from the post on how to post (sorry!)

Instead I looked at the last thread in which jcgriff2 asked for the minidump files so I'm attaching those. Other than that:
Laptop is a Compaq Presario C700
- Windows 7
- Installed as a fix from a similar Vista issue, about 1 week ago
- ACPI x 64 ?based PC
- Atheros AR5007802.11b/g Wifi Adapter
- Realtek RTL8139/810x Family Fast Ethernet NIC

Hi guys, I have this problem which i posted earlier which i accidentally clicked that it was solved and as it was my first post i was unaware of the rules. I have now followed the rules and done as told.

I was told by my computer tech that this is a problem with regards to the devices which are plugged in to my usb port but I have tested each device and all of them individually crashed.

Is there anyway to solve this issue?

Hi forums,

This issue has been bugging me for awhile now. This blue screen happens only when I am streaming to Twitch using OBS. I noticed that the issue usually occurs when I leave the TwitchAlerts desktop app open. However, I believe that I did not have it open today. After doing some research, I believe it is the network driver that is causing the issue. However, it seems that it is up to date according to the Atheros website that I visited. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For quite some time now I've been getting BSOD on a regular basis and I have procrastinated looking into what's causing it.
Sadly, after running various tests on my computer to see what might be the problem I'm at a loss.
So I've attached the minidump files as a zip attachment.
Hopefully someone can shed some light on my predicament.

Not quite sure what's relevant so here are a few computer specs you might need to know as I bought it in parts.

Hi,

A few drivers to update...

Code:
ASACPI.sys Mon Mar 28 15:30:36 2005 (42476C4C)
ASACPI.sys - ASUS ACPI Driver; the 2005 version is almost guaranteed to cause BSODs on Windows 7 systems. Update link here, update instructions (slideshow) here (note that in the last step you select the ATK0110 driver in the list instead of the one mentioned)

Code:
nvm62x64.sys Sat Oct 18 10:01:06 2008 (48F8FD12)
nvstor.sys Wed May 20 18:45:37 2009 (4A13A711)
Both of the above drivers are part of the nForce chipset driver package. You can find the update here - http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_...bit_15.49.html

Once you have updated the above, turn on the Driver Verifier.

I've been getting this BSOD for a while now called DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I know this has to do with a driver but I have no idea which one is causing it. Please help, thanks!

Hi eaglefighter85.

Download and install Killer e2200 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller driver from Driver Downloads | Qualcomm Atheros, Inc..

If the guidance on how to install driver is needed, follow Driver Install - Device Manager .

Let us know the results.

Hello,

I get frequent BSOD errors, and it has been the case since I built this brand new computer. I've never encountered anything like this before.

What could be the fault of these BSOD errors, I have attached a minidump, could someone please analyse it and tell me which is causing it.

Thanks in advance,

A:Bsod.. Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

Your dump file is corrupted and unreadable, and this is a sign of a RAM problem. Try running just one stick of RAM at a time.

This error happens occasionally, not when I turn it on, or doing a specific action. It's occurence is not "inevitable". I can turn on the computer, use it, play games, write a whole paper and not encounter the error at all. Other times it happens within an hour or less. It is seemingly random.

Hello,

I've been receiving this blue screen error when I try running Disk Clean-up. It's very odd. I checked the IRQ assignments, and there doesn't seem to be any conflicting problems. Here's a pic of my IRQs:

Like I said, it happens when I run Disk Clean-up and I think occasionaly it would happen while playing Warcraft III. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated

Thanks.

These were caused by your Eset Smart Security. I wold un-install it to test, and replace it with Microsoft Smart Security.

Hello,
I've got a constant problem with my problem. About once every 2 days I get a BSOD. The message is always driver_irql_not_less_or_equal .
I did a system file check but it gave nothing ("Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.").
I included the dumpfile, if anyone could check it, because I have no idea why I'm getting all those blue screens.. I'm not over-clocking or anything.

presumably this is a continuation of the errors you where posting two weeks ago here

this error is showing as DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and in windows debugger it is blaming USBPORT.SYS

A:Bsod, driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

Hi -

Your thread subject "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" belongs to bugcheck (STOP error) 0xd1 and means that a kernel-mode driver tried to access paged memory at a time when it should not have (IRQL too high) or the memory address it referenced was invalid (bad RAM).

I can run the dumps and see if any indications as to cause are present within. I'll need additional system information and of course the mini kernel dumps from the BSODs. An easy and painless task for you - please follow THESE instructions. Please post the resulting zip files to your next post.

Have you contacted the manufacturer? Is it still under warranty?

Regards. . .

Hard to spot a trend with only one DMP but this one points to your openvpn. I would remove it to test.

Hi,

2 out of the 3 BSODs do mention your USB driver - but the one that doesn't mentions PCD62X2.sys which appears to be a part of the BewerbungsGenie software?

Update that or uninstall it.

The fact that a USB driver is mentioned makes me suspect the Mainboard too.

Here is the list of some 3rd party drivers on your system

Code:

ACEDRV07.sys Sun Apr 30 01:39:25 2006
athrusb.sys Wed Jul 30 00:45:18 2008
avgio.sys Fri Feb 23 03:57:32 2007
DiskSec.sys Sat Apr 05 05:34:24 2008
drhard.SYS Thu Dec 01 18:49:20 2005

There are many more, but these are the few that I think may be causing your BSODs. Update or uninstall them - some of them (eg: drhard.sys) do not return any useful results when I try to search for them, hopefully you have a better idea than I do as to what programs use them.

avgio.sys is part of Avira AntiVir - this program should be removed temporarily to ensure it is not part of the problem.

Use Microsoft Security Essentials in the meantime: http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/

Reventon

Hi and welcome

This one is pretty straight forward. This crash was probably caused by your network driver (netw5v64.sys).

I would download and install a fresh copy
also run a system file check
type cdm in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow

Let us know the results

Ken

A:BSOD Need Help (DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL)

Hi

Without the actual crash dump files it is not possible to find the actual root cause. However considering that NETw5s64.sys is the driver file for Intel wireless adapter, we should start with updating that.

First download and save the latest driver ( win 7 x64 ) from the below link.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/confirm.aspx?httpDown=http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23491/eng/Wireless_16.7.0_Ds64.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=23491&OSFullname=Windows+7+(64-bit)*

Then disconnect WiFi connection and uninstall current WiFi driver. Generally you will find one or more "Intel PROSET" items in "Control Panel --> Programs". Make sure to uninstall all of them and reboot. Now install the latest driver downloaded earlier.

I'm not sure why my computer is crashing with this error, it seems to happen randomly. It has happened Twice in the past few days so it isn't much of a bother, I just want to know why.

I have attached the Minidump file to this post, I was only downloading something on uTorrent and playing Minecraft when it crashed.

It displays WDF01000.sys is the issue on the BSOD.
Any help is appreciated, but note that I am not willing to download a bunch of random programs. Only from reputable sources.

Please note:  I will not download anything which I don't know exactly what the content is.  When you post the results of scans do not wrap it in code, use quotes, or use another website to host the results.

Please download and install Speccy to provide us with information about your computer.  When  FileHippo opens, click on Download latest version in the upper right pane.

When Speccy opens you will see a screen similar to the one below.

Click on File which is outlined in red in the screen above, and then click on Publish Snapshot.

The following screen will appear, click on Yes.

The following screen will appear, click on Copy to Clipboard.

In your next post right click inside the Reply to Topic box, then click on Paste.  This will load a link to the Speccy log.

Please download MiniToolBox, save it to your desktop and run it.

Checkmark the following checkboxes:

• List last 10 Event Viewer log
• List Installed Programs
• List Users, Partitions and Memory size.
• List Minidump Files

Click on Go to start the scan.  Once it is finished highlight the text, copy it and paste it in your next post.

Hi,

I have a brand new (two months) old Acer 5740 laptop. Operating System is Windows 7. Within the days of purchase, I encounterd the BSOD once and after that I didnt face it. But the BSOD problem is very frequent in the last one week. I could restart and log into to Windows normally after the BSOD problem. Am really worried that it would permanently crash the system one day. Moreover I lose my work often. I request you to kindly help me out in solving this problem. As instructed in the thread 'Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions', I followed all the steps and am attaching the file Windows7_Vista_jcgriff2.rar with this post.

Following are my system configuration:

OS : Windows 7 ultimate (came along with the Laptop)
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M330 @2.13Ghz
RAM : 4:00 GB (2.80 GB usable)
System type : 32-bit Operating system

My advance thanks for your help.

Regards,
Sushguna

If it is only 2 months old contact Acer as it must be under warranty, anything you do might cause Acer to reject the warranty conditions.

System continues to intermittently hang/freeze requiring power reset, but also occasionally reboots.

Memory test was OK
Fans running

Today saw screen flicker and:
"THXAudio has stopped working"
"Display driver AMD stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
About 20 minutes later the system rebooted self.

I ran Driver Verifier yesterday and the last minidump appears to have been a few days before on 5/17. I will try to upload the minidump.

Grateful for some help....

Title.

I had a game up and running while I was at school, when I got home there was a bsod with that.

Now I can't run windows normally. Everytime I reset the computer, it goes to that while loading the windows xp screen. All I can do is run in safe mode, with limited access to everything.

Any help would be great!

I can't do anything on this except google -.-
I included what I think you need from the mini dump file.

Hi -

The most recent memory dump in the zip attachment = 9 March 2012.

When was the last BSOD?

The last 15 dumps - late January - 9 March....
- 2 - name Avast as the probable cause
- 13 - have bugcheck 0xce = driver failed to cancel pending operations before unloading; no 3rd party driver is named

Remove Avast w/ remioval tool - http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN146

Reboot upon completion. Install Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), if possible.

Run memtest86+ - http://www.techsupportforum.com/2863029-post5.html

Run SysInternals AutoRuns - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s...rnals/bb963902

It is a stand-alone executable and can run in Safemode. Use it (or msconfig) and start disabling 3rd party drivers 1-by-1 - see if you can isolate a driver. If not, hardware failure is the likely cause.

msconfig - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310560

I have been having problems with my PC for over a year now Recently the problem has been that when I try to turn on my PC the fan on the graphics card would spin really loud and my motherboard would give one long followed by two short beeps I went and got my graphics card ATI Radeon HD tested at a PC shop and the guy said it was working fine I couldn t do the Help?? BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. whole PC because I don t have a car The problem continued even when I put the card in different PCI-E slots Some days it would power on and actually work but then a few days later it BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Help?? wouldn t POST again and it d do the loud fan and beeping noise routine So I took an old ATI Radeon HD card from an older PC in the house and tried it in my PC The PC booted up and I was able to do stuff I was watching a full-screen video when there was suddenly a repetitive sound on the headphones lots of weird coloured pixels on the screen followed by a blue screen of death square brackets are parts that are missing because they didn t fit on my screen even if I used the monitor controls to move the screen position it didn t show me certain parts of the error message DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL Technical information STOP x D x A E x x missing part Xfffff E E athrusb sys Address FFFFF E E base at FFFFF DateStamp missing part F End of error message What s BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Help?? even weirder is that I got this error message way back when I still had an Nvidia GTX in this same PC with the same symptoms I then bought the ATI Radeon HD which worked for about months until it suddenly did the fan thing with the three beeps The guy at the PC repair shop told me it was possibly my RAM but that would not explain why some graphics cards work albeit with BSODs and others won t even let my computer POST Any help would be greatly appreciated nbsp

BSOD - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1) hardware error quot so I tried running a diagnostic on the memory memtest and hdd seatools but no problems seems to have occurred I also used the alienware command center tool to verify all the fans and liquid cooling was functioning Temperature in the PC is between - degrees C I also tried swapping out ram stick at a time and swapping out the HDD crashing still occurred Once that found nothing I tried upgrading the chipset and bios drivers Although the BSODs still happen the error is different now I have copy pasted below the debug output from windbg Could someone more familiar with windows stuff give me a few suggestions Thanks Code DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL d An attempt was made to access a pageable or completely invalid address at an interrupt request level IRQL that is too high This is usually caused by drivers using improper addresses If kernel debugger is available get stack backtrace Arguments Arg f c memory referenced Arg IRQL Arg value read operation write operation Arg fffff ce af address which referenced memory Debugging Details ------------------ READ ADDRESS f c CURRENT IRQL FAULTING IP usbccgp DispatchPdoUrb fffff ce af fb c movzx r d word ptr r DEFAULT BUCKET ID VISTA DRIVER FAULT BUGCHECK STR xD PROCESS NAME System TRAP FRAME fffff d -- trap xfffff d NOTE The trap frame does not contain all registers Some register values may be zeroed or incorrect rax rbx rcx fffffa ac c rdx fffffa c a a rsi rdi rip fffff ce af rsp fffff d a rbp r r r fffff b r r r r r iopl nv up ei pl zr na po nc usbccgp DispatchPdoUrb x fffff ce af fb c movzx r d word ptr r ds a a Resetting default scope LAST CONTROL TRANSFER from fffff ebdca to fffff ebe STACK TEXT fffff d c fffff ebdca a f c nt KeBugCheckEx fffff d d fffff ebc f f b a fffffa ac ab fffffa c d fffffa ec a nt KiBugCheckDispatch x fffff d fffff ce af fffffa ac ab fffffa ef c fffffa ef c nt KiPageFault x fffff d a fffff ceaba fffffa ac b fffffa ef c fffffa ac ab usbccgp DispatchPdoUrb x fffff d e fffff cc e f fffffa ac ab fffffa ac ab fffffa ef c usbccgp DispatchPdoInternalDeviceControl x a fffff d fffff a f fffffa ac aa fffffa ef c ff usbccgp USBC Dispatch x de fffff d fffff f b fffffa ef fb fffffa ac c fffff d fffffa ac b hidusb HumReadReport x f fffff d e fffff a d fffffa ac a fffffa ac a fffffa ef c hidusb HumInternalIoctl x fffff d fffff ae d fffffa ac a fffffa ac cb HIDCLASS HidpSubmitInterruptRead xdd fffff d b fffff ec d fffffa ef fbb fffffa ac b fffffa ef c HIDCLASS HidpInterruptReadComplete x d fffff da fffff d fffffa fffffa b a nt IopfCompleteRequest x a fffff db fffff ab fffffa e fffffa ef c ffffffff fffffa ea USBPORT USBPORT Core iCompleteDoneTransfer xa fffff dc fffff f fffffa ea fffffa a fffffa a USBPORT USBPORT Core iIrpCsqCompleteDoneTransfer x a fffff dc fffff f fffffa fffffa e fffffa ea USBPORT USBPORT Core UsbIocDpc Worker xf fffff dca fffff ec bfc fffff fffffa ea fffffa ec USBPORT USBPORT Xdpc Worker x d fffff dcd fffff ec eea fffff fffff c fffff db nt KiRetireDpcList x bc fffff dd fffff e fffff fffff dd nt KiIdleLoop x a STACK COMMAND kb FOLLOWUP IP hidusb HumReadReport f fffff a f b c mov rcx qword ptr rsp h SYMBOL STACK INDEX SYMBOL NAME hidusb HumReadReport f FOLLOWUP NAME MachineOwner MODULE NAME hidusb IMAGE NAME hidusb sys DEBUG FLR IMAGE TIMESTAMP a bcbfe FAILURE BUCKET ID X xD hidusb HumReadReport f BUCKET ID X... A:Help! BSOD - DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (d1)

Blegh, just realized that error is being caused by the new mouse drivers I just added in. So confusing!

Hi,

A friend of mine suggested me this page, and I hope you guys can help me with this problem. My PC keeps giving me the BSOD randomly, sometimes when I play games, or when I tab or swap pages. Been looking for any solution to stop. I copied all the .dmp files manually from C:\WINDOWS\Minidump and attach them as zip.

I also took a picture with my cellphone. It is not a recently BSOD but I thought this might help somehow. Hope the language is not a problem.

http://img820.imageshack.us/img820/7653/bsodw.png

I am really desperate.

Thanks for your time.

A:BSOD - Driver_IRQL_not_less_or_equal

I would suggest testing the memory for several passes using Memtest86+ Advanced Memory Diagnostics.

You will need to create a boot disc and run for several passes.

Make sure Windows is fully updated using Windows Update.

Update the audio driver from here

Update the Logitech drivers here

Hi Everyone,

I am getting a blue screen error of DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL which frequently occur most of the time. I tried to fix it on my own but didn't worked. What I have done so far is to:- Run a check disk
- Defrag my laptop
- Increase the paging file (recommended amount of the System)

So yeah, I tried all that I know (so far) but still can't fix the issue, can you guys check on this instead?

Thanks!

A:Bsod: Driver_irql_not_less_or_equal

Hi irGed.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

If it does not show any error, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

I recently built a new computer and installed Vista64. Ever since it was built I get random BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL STOP Xd1
tcpip.sys. In trying to resolve the problem I have gone thru all my drivers several times. I have a gigabyte GA-EP35C-DS3R 2.1 mother board, 8GB DDR2 Gskill memory. Nvidia 8800GTS video card. I rolled back the lan driver to the latest version per the gigabyte web site. I also redownloaded the driver and installed it so that I covered all the bases. I do have mini dumps if someone can decipher. It doesn't seem to happen in safe mode with networking support. Last night it happened with Vista booted in normal mode with the network cable pulled out. I have IPconfig listings from safe mode and normal mode.. There are some differences there..

Any help would be appreciated..

Hi Mike . . .

Welcome to the Tech Support Forum - Vista Support!

I'll take a look at those mini dumps for you. Please get them all - I don't care how many there are. There are a few ither items that I would like - Please run the following -

? Belarc Advisor report saved as a web page (html, mht (IE7/8) or as a 2007 (only) Word document docx, or as a Word document. You can download Belarc HERE

? DXDiag report - START | type dxdiag into the Start Search box | right-click on dxdiag.exe | select Run as Administrator | respond to User Access Control prompt | Save as a text file.

? MS32info NFO file - START | type msinfo32 into the Start Search box | right-click on msinfo32.exe | select Run as Administrator | respond to User Access Control prompt | System Information will then come up | save the report in System Information File (NFO) format by selecting File, then Save As.

? Event Logs - Get them all - dozens -They are located in: c:\windows\system32\winevt\logs.

Then zip them up and send to my email - see PM.

Hi -

The most recent dump file is almost a month old.

Run Driver Verifier - Driver Verifier - Windows 7 & Vista (BSOD-related)

Driver Verifier needs to run 24 hours minimum or until it BSODs your system, whichever is less. Then . . .

Run BSOD script again - Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions - Windows 7 & Vista

Hello,

I suggest we start with some hardware diagnostics. Run all three Prime95 tests: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95 - Windows 7 Forums

Also run 7 passes of Memtest86: RAM - Test with Memtest86+ - Windows 7 Forums

Finally, run SeaTools, for the hard drive.

If those don't turn up any errors, please provide us with a full BSOD report: http://www.techsupportforum.com/foru...ta-452654.html

A:BSOD DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL | PLEASE HELP!!!

to the Bleeping Computer.

To troubleshoot a BSOD issue, we need the actual crash dump files written by Windows and a record of event log errors. Please follow the below steps.

Upload the crash dump files.

You can find the crash dump files inside C:\Windows\Minidump folder. Copy all the files located in that folder and zip them to a single file. Disable the "User Account Control" if you encounter a permission error. We need at least a minimum of three dumps to find a pattern. Attach the zipped dump with the next reply. If the file size is larger than 512KB, upload the zipped dumps to a free file hosting site and post the download link to it.

    Example file hosting sites :

    https://www.box.com/

    http://www.mediafire.com/

    http://www.sendspace.com

A Speccy snapshot.

"Speccy" is a free tool which is used to create a report about your system. It will list the make and model of hardware components as well as installed Windows updates, HDD SMART status etc. Please read instructions from the below link and post the web link created by "Speccy" in next reply.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/323892/publish-a-snapshot-using-speccy/

 Minitoolbox report.

"Minitoolbox" can list all the installed programs as well as event log errors in your system. Download "Minitoolbox" from the below link.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/minitoolbox/

Run the tool and only select the following tick boxes.

-List last 10 Event viewer errors
    -List installed programs
    -List devices
-List users, partition and memory size

Now click "Go" and post the output in next reply
