Getting BSOD suddenly windows 7

Q: Getting BSOD suddenly windows 7

Hi, i was playing some Guild Wars 2 a yesterday and after exiting the game a BSOD flashed up. I think after looking a little i found it might of been my drivers (radeon 5770) hadn't been updated in awhile. I tried to download it but my computer was getting a BSOD after 5 minutes. I managed to download the update on the laptop and copied to pc and updated them, however i am still getting the BSOD. It takes a lot longer before it comes up now, up to 1 hour sometimes but it's still there.

I have attached the SF diagnostic tools zip.

Thank you for your help.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,

There are no crash dumps located in your jcgriff2 output folder. Can you please navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up and attach any crash dumps there?

During the last couple months, I have had a problem with my PC. The symptom is that the system randomly (and suddenly) went very laggy (extremely slow mouse cursor response, sound starting to stutter), and ultimately, the system crashed with a Blue Screen or White Screen, and the only remedy is to do a force reboot (holding power button till the PC goes off and turn it on once again.)

However, this symptom does not occur during intense gaming or multimedia. (GTA IV, Mafia II, StarCraft II, etc, etc...)

I used to have display driver related error (nvlddmkm.sys, if I remember correctly) which was solved by updating the latest driver from NVIDIA website.

I have attached some crash dumps to this post as well. Actually there were a lot more but I was unable to salvage all of it.

I have searched and referred to this link (BSOD and WSOD on Windows 7, P5Q Deluxe, GeForce 260 GTX) but since my PC is a laptop, I was unable to modify any advanced BIOS-related parameters. NVFlash also does not work, since a supported EEPROM was not found.

These were caused by your video driver. Please re-install them as suggested below. Also please up date the old drivers listed as well.

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.
How To Find Drivers:

Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: http://www.carrona.org/drvrdown.html

I've got a Toshiba Satellite p w-b laptop running Windows that has out of the blue started crashing with a BSOD SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION For a while it wouldn't even boot it would crash before fully booting and I suspected a virus infection so I downloaded the BitDefender Rescue CD Somehow through a train of crashes it more can't 10 boot started BSOD, Windows Suddenly any booted into Windows instead of the LiveCD and actually stayed running However the keyboard and touchpad wouldn't work Device Manager showed that there was a driver problem with the keyboard I tried telling Windows Update to find a new driver for it but it claims that it was up to date Downloaded MBAM and ran it which found PUP but nothing serious I told it to quarantine them just in case I then ran sfc exe scannow which ran all the way through and completed with no errors Finally I made a system image with Macrium Reflect so that if it won't boot again at least the files on the HDD will be saved Then I uninstalled the keyboard driver and shut down In the meantime Windows Update installed the updates that were released yesterday Now I tried to restart it and it's just crashing with a BSOD again before it will finish booting I tried booting a Windows DVD and running the Repair but it BSOD again while trying to do that Does anyone have any suggestions At first I thought it was a virus software driver problem but if it can't even boot from a DVD I don't know what to say I'm attempting to retrieve the Windows 10 Suddenly started BSOD, can't boot any more BSOD minidump from the backup right now I'll post it if I can find it Edit Moved topic from Windows to the more appropriate forum Animal

A:Windows 10 Suddenly started BSOD, can't boot any more

Start with these free bootable diagnostics:
Most laptops w/UEFI won't even show a CD/DVD at boot time unless it's UEFI compatible (try MemTest86 from here:  http://www.memtest86.com/download.htm ).  NOTE:  MemTest86 is UEFI compliant, MemTest86+ is not)

With newer laptops (UEFI) you may have to fiddle with the settings in the BIOS (Secure Boot and CSM/legacy mode) in order to run the HDD diags
MemTest 86 (not 86+) will boot to UEFI automatically
The antivirus tests will vary based upon the methods used (but I'm not as concerned with these as you were able to do some scans previously).

Minidumps are located in C:\Windows\Minidump
They'll have a date/time for the filename - and will end in .dmp

Can you get into Safe Mode?
If you can reach the Startup Repair screen, you can use the Troubleshoot option to find the Safe Mode entry.
See if you can do that.

If you're able to get into Safe Mode, then try a "clean" boot:  http://www.thewindowsclub.com/what-is-clean-boot-state-in-windows

I have been using Windows 10 for an extended time, and have not dealt with any issue with BSODs so far. However, they started in the past week, and have been frequent. It appears to be a Bad_Stack_0x109 error, but I have no idea how to fix that. I have attached the zip file.

I can collect any more information if it is needed to help me fix my issue!

Thanks in advance!

oh yea. It just popped up so I remembered. but before every time it crashed this window popped up with message:

"AcIntEngine18
Could not write to the Internet cache on your computer. Try the following steps to correct the problem. Open Internet Explorer and click Tool > Internet Options. On the General tab, click Delete Files to delete the temporary Internet files."

But I dont even use Internet explorer, I use firefox. I never saw this message in my life.
I wonder if this has to do with crash.

I usually like to leave my computer on overnight. So I go offline, disable my wireless, and put on a video playlist in full screen to help me sleep. Anyway, today I woke up and saw the Windows Media Player no longer full screen, and the wireless switch was actually turned on. This is strange because I know I turned wireless off and I frequently check my system with Malwarebytes.

What could this be? Did someone snoop in my computer? Thanks in advance for the support.

I was just on the internet then suddenly everything froze so I had to force shutdown. When I restarted it couldn't load windows so it done the system recovery and I eventually removed my USB and it fixed it somehow. When I loaded up the computer it was all working fine again then I got a BSOD and ended up having 4 in the space of about an hour.

it happened again on the 17'th
i finely got the results of the dm log tool

A:bsod suddenly did nothing special

Unfortunately the error you had the most, kernel_security_check_failure(0x139), is one that is hard to solve.

A few possible solutions
- Open admin command prompt and type sfc/scannow, this checks if any windows file is corrupted.
If there are corrupt files found, please upload the cbs.log and the dism.log found in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS and C:\Windows\Logs\DISM (Change C if your OS has another letter)
- Scan your pc for viruses.
- Run driver verifier, this is a tutorial from sevenforums for windows 7, but its almost the same for windows 8.

Dumps indicate Bugcheck 116 caused by your Nvidia driver
Possible causes: corrupt driver, overcloking, defective RAM/GPU, overheating, old drivers

Remove The nvidia driver, then use Driver sweeper to remove leftover Nvidia display driver files
Reboot and reinstall the drivers

As the title suggests, my PC has been running fine, up until last night, playing Fallout 4, suddenly BSOD. Today, I turn it back on, and it crashes booting, then crashes over and over every 15-20 minutes, giving me many different types of errors, including page file, security, etc. The crashes don't seem to be related to anything I'm doing, just random.

Log file attached as per instructions. If any additional details are needed, please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any help, this is maddening.

Multiple things wrong

1-spdt.sys from 2005 almost always causes bsod's

ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005

Quote:
The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

2-Old drivers

Code:

How To Find Drivers:

Quote:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

- - The most common drivers are listed on this page: Driver Reference
- - Driver manufacturer links are on this page: Drivers and Downloads

3-An OS file blamed but not the cause. Please run a system file check

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

If the above dont stop the BSOD's run driver verifier

Beyond that, please run Verifier with these settings:
[quote]
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
NOTE: You can use Low Resource Simulation if you'd like. From my limited experimentation it makes the BSOD's come faster.
- Select "Select driver nam... Read more

Hello Peets, Welcome to SF

First off if your OCing in anyway stop, return everything to stock settings for the purposes of testing

If you havent already, fill in your system specs so we know what we are dealing with
System Info - See Your System Specs

Run some basic hardware tests
RAM - Test with Memtest86+
Disk Check (windows based check)
Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure (bootable disk check)

Not sure what you have been doing and when so i just ran your last three dumps from today and they are all 0x1A memory management and as you have just put new ram in that has got to be the starting point, run memtest for multiple passes to see if any errors are found or take out new ram and see if crashes still happen

Looking at dump i can see all the ram is recognised but is it all compatible

Let your parents see this thread ... they will not get angry on you. It is not your fault at all, it is the fault from the part of the computer only, which may occur anytime.

Code:
STOP 0x000000ED: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME

Usual causes: Hard drive problem, File system problem, Improper boot parameters
It is some issue with the storage device. As the computer does not boot to windows, test it with a bootable disc check tool. Seatools for DOS will work nice. If it detects disc error, you will need to change the disc.

If there is no disc error, a clean install will solve your issue perfectly.

All,
I'm stumped. Got Windows 7 Ultimate x64 running on my Core 2 Duo Wolfdale, been running it for months without problems. One day I decide its been a while I should reformat. I procrastinate as usual, then a BSOD pops up out of the blue, first time since initial install 6 months prior, and I see it as a sign to get of my butt. Perform fresh reinstall, everything seems fine then, as I'm installing my programming, BSOD starts popping up every few hours. Freaked, I perform another fresh reinstall, before installing ANYTHING, even before I activate, I get another BSOD. I'm not sure if this is a sudden hardware failure, or a software problem. At this point I'm operating beyond my capabilities. Please help. Thanks in advance.

A:Suddenly BSOD is a problem.

Hi Sevenforums

I got a BSOD suddenly yesterday, I was just surfing on the internet and then when I went into this site: Tech Made Easy - I got the BSOD.

When the PC started again I did only have 4GB RAM? But I have 8GB installed.

I've attached the zip file.

A:BSOD Suddenly Surfing Net

Hi kfrandsen.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall Daemon Tools at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
Free up the startup. Windows does not need any other program to auto start with it, but the auto start programs often conflicts and causes various problems including BSODs.
Click on the Start button
Type ?msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the ?Startup? tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept then restart.
Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.
If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.
If memtest86+ results no error, enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any. Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Hello First post here so please correct me if i am doing something wrong. I've had my laptop for about a year now. Its an HP dv7 with windows 64bit. I had no issues with it but when i came home i installed a new N router and suddenly my wireless was very slow. I decided it was just my laptop since ever other computer in the house was much faster. About a week ago i got my first blue screen error 9f. Yesterday i had the same thing. I came home bother times to find my laptop sitting in the blue screen with the same error and windows blaming the same file. I have attached the files like the sticky said. Any help is greatly appreciated.

A:BSOD computer suddenly slow

While awaiting the detailed analysis of your BSOD experts (I'm not one of them.), would you please use the following to fully fluff out your System Specs? Thanks in advance.

Update your SevenForums System Specs
User CP (located on the top menu bar) |
Your Profile | Edit System Spec (left-hand column)

To gather info, use Speccy (my favorite) or SIW or System Info

ADD the word laptop or desktop or netbook to the
“system manufacturer” block, for example,
Toshiba Satellite L305D notebook.

Provide full windows version info, for example:
MS Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit

Use the “Other Info” block for Optical Reader,
Mouse, touchpad, wifi adapter, speakers, monitor, etc

Scroll down and click on SAVE CHANGES.

I have recently upgraded my RAM from 4BG to 8 and have no been getting the BSOD for the first time ever. They are never the same... I've had the IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and the UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE errors. I am not so computer-savvy that I build them, but I know enough to add RAM.

9 x out of 10 it will happen during gaming, streaming or other video-intensive applications.

I have tried to test my ram but after the test runs I never see a report giving me the status of the ram to ensure all blocks are working properly.

bsod repeatedly occuring. never occured before when i was torrenting, only now.

A:BSOD suddenly occurred while torrenting

Hello wierdo54.

You are having some network blockage. NETIO.sys is the OS element, a networking driver and it is failing here. Such a network blockage may be caused by various reasons. Some of these are:
Backdated Network adapter driver.
Network blockage caused by antivirus programs.
Network blockage caused by a virus.
Moreover, some physical problem in the network adapters may also cause the same, but the chance is comparatively rare.

So let us see these, one by one. At first, we are seeing that you have Multiple Real Time protection programs installed. AVG and McAfee.

Code:
fffff880`011c8000 fffff880`011fc000 avgtdia (deferred)
fffff880`012df000 fffff880`0137a600 mfehidk (deferred)
First of all, using multiple antivirus is worst. It makes you unsecured, and at the same time it causes some other problems, like network blocking. Moreover, McAfee is directly involved in this event.

Code:
fffff880`03562220 fffff880`02e50110Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\mfenlfk.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for mfenlfk.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for mfenlfk.sys
mfenlfk+0xb110
Uninstall McAfee Using McAfee Removal Tool. Uninstall AVG using AVG Remover. Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

Next, let us check the network adapter drivers.
Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN, it is directly failing here.

Code:
fffff880`0355a648 fffff880`0585dc62Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\NETwNs64.sys, Win32 error 0n2

I suddenly got this error message when I started my PC up. I didn't have any problems earlier today until about 30 minutes ago when I tried to load up steam.

I can't seem to scan with my AV without BSOD popping up first before they're done. I get the message Driver IRQL Not Less or Equal at the very top as well.

Any solution to this would be appreciated!

Could someone help me troubleshoot this problem, I can't play any games that require a controller

My XBox 360 controller used to work fine, I don't know what made it start to suddenly go BSOD on me when I plug it in.

Does anyone know what might be the problem and how to fix it?

Thanks

A:BSOD suddenly Locale ID: 1048 BCCode: 124

The error states that an attempt to access data on your L0 cache for your CPU has timed out, the reason of which is undetermined. Whatever the case, you want to ensure that your CPU is not overheating, and if it's overclocked you wanna set it back to factory defaults and see if it stabilizes. Dust out the inside of your notebook if need be.

If none of this works, you will want to consider replacing the notebook as the CPU in it may have very well gone bad.

Good day TenForums,

As of late my PC has been suffering from BSOD and random freezes (where no BSOD) occurs but both seem to be happening very frequently lately.

My system is running on:
Windows 10,
Intel i5 4570
Radeon 6950
12Gig Ram.

I added the DM log file in the attachments.

Until then,
Venom

Hi there,

my Computer is almost 4 years old, and I never had any problems. I didn't update any drivers recently or installed any new software.

For the last couple of days I get some BSOD randomly. Mostly while watching/listening something on YouTube.

I have attached the Dump Files to this post.

Thank for you any help.

A:BSOD: Suddenly occurs after 4 years out of the Blue

Dont use a BETA display driver.

Uninstall the installed display driver using DDU. Then install the CCC 14.4 WHQL only.

Let us know for any further BSOD after doing it.

When done, stress test the Graphics Card using Furmark. Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Take a screenshot of the furmark window before closing it. Upload the screenshot for us. Also let us know if you have experienced any crash/BSOD and/or artifacts during the test.

THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER_M (100000ea)
The device driver is spinning in an infinite loop, most likely waiting for
hardware to become idle. This usually indicates problem with the hardware
itself or with the device driver programming the hardware incorrectly.
If the kernel debugger is connected and running when watchdog detects a
timeout condition then DbgBreakPoint() will be called instead of KeBugCheckEx()
and detailed message including bugcheck arguments will be printed to the
debugger. This way we can identify an offending thread, set breakpoints in it,
and hit go to return to the spinning code to debug it further. Because
KeBugCheckEx() is not called the .bugcheck directive will not return bugcheck
information in this case. The arguments are already printed out to the kernel
debugger. You can also retrieve them from a global variable via
"dd watchdog!g_WdBugCheckData l5" (use dq on NT64).
On MP machines it is possible to hit a timeout when the spinning thread is
interrupted by hardware interrupt and ISR or DPC routine is running at the time
of the bugcheck (this is because the timeout's work item can be delivered and
handled on the second CPU and the same time). If this is the case you will have
to look deeper at the offending thread's stack (e.g. using dds) to determine
spinning code which caused the timeout to occur.
Arguments:
Arg1: fffffa8008377060, Pointer to a stuck thread object. Do .thread then kb on it to find
the hung location.
Arg2: 0000000000000000, Pointer to a DEFERRED_WATCHDOG object.

I am running windows 8.1 64 bit version. Recently I have been getting both of these bad pool blue screens. I believe that they started happening after I installed drivers for a USB to headphone jack adapter. They seem to happen usually after loading a YouTube
video or when playing any games, which is why I thought that this adapter is the culprit, but the most recent one happened after clicking on a normal link with my headphones and adapter unplugged from the laptop so I'm stumped.
Here are the minidump files:

Over the last few days, I've had a total nightmare with my computer that has been running quite happily in it's current state for well over 6 months or more. Initial research would suggest either; Malware, Windows Update or a GFX Card issue.

As I've been getting some weird pixels on the initial boot outside of the Windows OS, I believe it may be the latter. Although it doesn't explain why when booting in to safe mode, all seems fine?

After playing around with CHKDSK, SFC and System Restore - I've managed to get the computer running again - although it has crashed again since, but at least I've been able to backup my data.

I've attached my logs and such using the SF Diag Tool, hoping someone with more knowledge than myself can identify any possible reasoning!

Virus and Spyware scans both returned nothing.

A:Computer suddenly freezing w/ BSOD & weird pixels?

Problematic Software:
Code:
Start Menu\Programs\Defraggler Public:Start Menu\Programs\Defraggler Public
I recommend against 3rd party defrag tools. Windows has some nice command line flags for the defrag command that will accomplish the same tasks as 3rd party programs. The -b and -w flags will defrag boot files and the boot registry items as well as compact the data to the center of the disk for faster access.defrag c: -b
defrag -c -v -w
The first command optimizes boot performance for the Windows drive by defragmenting boot files and boot registry items.

The second command includes all drives on the system through the -c command and optimizes the drives by compacting the data to the center of the disk. Verbose output through the -v option is optional to provide the user with more information about the defrag tasks. The commands have to be run in an Elevated Command Prompt.

For more flags, see Disk Defragmenter - Open and Use.

Your crash was a 0x116 TDR Error crash.

It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception.

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash. As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds. If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating. Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU. Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference. If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

Closely follow the first three posts of usasma's thread outlining STOP 0x116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR troubleshooting and proceed through each step. Let us know if you need further help.

I am in complete distress over the past week because my PC has been shutting down randomly and at suddenly and PC BSOD notice times without down shutting at random times BSOD at random times and PC shutting down suddenly without notice BSOD appears The shutdown is bit weird because it can happen almost anytime whether I am watching videos playing games surfing internet or just on my desktop I have built this PC about one and half year ago and eveything in it is Brand new except for the processor which is years old I have overclocked the processor up to GHz but I have been running at these settings for over one and half years without many problems There can be many reasons why the PC is doing this such as Memory PSU CPU Motherboard I just don't know where to start I was first thinking overheating is the problem but I have monitored the temps and I have pretty good cooling in the case My temps are avg on the CPU when playing games at GHz overclock and Max on the GPU I have now reseated the memory and excluded any potential bad memory stick and reverted back to default BIOS settings and will now be monitoring for problem but in mean time if some expert could shed some light on this issue I would greatly appreciate it and I am apologise for the wall of text

Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Installed from DVD, full retail
Fairly new motherboard, just a month or so old - A75 Extreme6
Reinstalled Windows at that point, no problems until now.

Last night browsing the Internet it BSODed, then again right as Windows was starting, then again after a few minutes in Safe Mode with Networking. Suspecting RAM, I pulled one of the two sticks, but possibly my ability to post this is just coincidental to that. I'd really appreciate input. Perfmon says no antivirus, but I have MSI installed and running. The other possibly culprit seems to be LAN driver, but if I have the most recent driver from the motherboard's website already installed, what else can I do to fix it?

Edit: Attaching files

I've never had any problems with this computer, but this month I started getting BSODs, first while playing the Witcher 1, though I have no tech experience I tried to search on my own and using WhoCrashed found that apparently outdated Nvidia and Etron USB 3.0 drives were to blame, ok, all's well, I even finish the game, then a week or so later, when I'm already 30 hours in Witcher 2 already the Blue Screens come back, and this time I'm stumped, as neither WhoCrashed nor BlueScreenViewer seem to give me any hints.

Please notice only the two latest minidumps are from this second wave of problems, 012513-30186-01 being the latest, if you read all of this thank you in advance, I'm really up against the wall here and I'd appreciate any sort of help or guidance.

Bugcheck code says DV is enabled, whereas Bucket ID is not supporting this statement. Which may be interpreted as the driver verifier is not enabled actually.

Recently we have noticed that some inbuilt bugs of the nvidia display driver causing this type of crash. And, apparently you are using a beta version of the display driver. I'd suggest you to roll back to an earlier stable one. It never crashes on itself.
Download and install Driver Fusion.
Reboot the computer in Advanced Boot Options, safe mode. Search Driver Fusion in your start menu, and remove all components of your nVidia display driver.
Boot normally now. Go to Drivers - Download NVIDIA Drivers, Drivers > Beta and Legacy; search there with your cards particulars for GeForce 306.23 Driver, dated 13.9.2012 and install it.

Uninstall Webroot Desktop Firewall as it is contributing to your BSOD's and may be
conflicting with AVAST:

Code:

Driver: pwipf6.sys
Refers to: Webroot Desktop Firewall
Website: :ar: Support for Individuals & Families | Webroot
After you have removed the program, reboot and if you still experience BSOD's
then uninstall AVAST:

http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

As an alternative, please download and install:

Microsoft Security Essentials.
Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability
compared to other antiviruses/internet security software. It will use Windows Firewall.

   Note
Once downloaded, update and run a full system scan

Cheers

AFAIK that only means that the last shutdown was not clean. Which you already know as it was quite sudden.
Can you reboot after the shutdown?

A:Computer suddenly slows down suddenly and sporadically for minutes

Hi Twistervtx and welcome to BC.Sorry for the delay in response to your thread.HijackThis doesn't enumerate 64bit systems very well, but i can see some problems in the report.P2P Warning Please note that as long as you're using any form of Peer-to-Peer networking ( Frostwire, Ares, uTorrent etc.) and downloading files from non-documented sources, you can expect infestations of malware to occur.Once upon a time, P2P file sharing was fairly safe. That is no longer true.P2P programmes form a direct conduit onto your computer, their security measures are easily circumvented, and Malware writers are increasingly exploiting them to spread their wares onto your computer. Further to that, if your P2P programme is not configured correctly you may be sharing more files than you realise. There have been cases where people's Passwords, Address Books and other personal, private, and financial details have been exposed to the file sharing network by a badly configured programme. Many of the programmes come bundled with other unwanted programmes, but even the ones free of any bundled software are not safe to use. When you use them you are downloading software from an unknown source directly onto your computer, bypassing your Firewall and Anti-Virus software. Hardly surprising then that many of these Downloads are being targeted to carry infections.Having a P2P program running at startup is even more dangerous! You may decide to continue P2P sharing, but keep in mind that this practice may be the source of future malware infestation. If we clean your computer of infection, and you return to us a short time later with an infection contracted by the use of P2P programmes, we may refuse to help you.If do you do decide (unwisely) to keep these programs, please refrain from using them until we have finished cleaning your system.Step 1Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista, 7, or 8; instead of double-clicking, right-mouse click JRT.exe and select "Run as Administrator".The tool will open and start scanning your system. Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications. On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next message.Step 2Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.Close all open programs and internet browsers.Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.Click on the Scan button.AdwCleaner will begin to scan your computer. After the scan has finished...Click on the Clean button.Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process. After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S0].txt) will open automatically.Copy and paste the contents of that logfile in your next reply.A copy of that logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.Step 3Download OTL to your desktop.right click on the link and select 'Save Link/Target As'.if you have problems, try this download link:OTLDouble click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted. When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check..Now copy the lines in bold below.netsvcsmsconfig%SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.*%systemroot%\system32\Spool\prtprocs\w32x86\*.dll%systemroot%\*. /mp /s%systemroot%\system32\*.dll /lockedfiles%systemroot%\Tasks\*.job /lockedfiles%systemroot%\system32\drivers\*.sys /lockedfiles%systemroot%\system32\*.exe /lockedfiles%systemroot%\System32\config\*.sav%PROGRAMFILES%\*%USERPROFILE%\..|smtmp;true;true;true /FPHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AUhklm\software\clients... Not an answer Im afraid but was just wondering if you got it resolved? Im having problems too but with an "access denied" message although I did at one point also get the same message as you posted above? I have put a query on the boards specifically about my message but was just wondering if you had solved your problem?

Long story short two computers were having home network problems both run Windows XP Professional so in desperation I clicked the quot Create Network ID quot button in the Computer Name tab in what I Suddenly cannot in Windows to log assume was the System Properties box I can t be sure that was the name of the box because I have no other computers running XP Pro and I can t even find that button in this installation of XP Home I did this on both computers simultaneously at Suddenly cannot log in to Windows which point both prompted me to restart I did and now neither computer can log in The IDs are both the same and I m using the same password unless clicking that button changes your keyboard to a Dvorak layout but the error message tells me the domain could be the problem So I click the Options button on the lower right of the login dialog and all it does is hides or Suddenly cannot log in to Windows reveals the Shut Down button so I have no options other than OK Cancel and Shut Down none of which are helpful in the least How can I log in again nbsp

Well this is a really irritating problem I started my computer up this morning and after logging in to really suddenly slow Windows Windows everything is obviously not working as it should Things are sluggish right out of the gate with my desktop taking forever to get itself together and get all the icons shown and then even longer for Fences to kick in and organize it all The fact that Fences works at all is strange though as out of all Windows suddenly really slow the startup programs I have checked only GeForce Experience Windows suddenly really slow shows up in the taskbar Everything else like Realtek and THXStudio are nowhere to be found and aren't even started up minutes into using the computer To make things stranger I have two CD Drives showing up in Computer D and E I checked Event Log and there's a giant avalanche of Errors under System that are all the same and just say quot The driver detected a controller error on Device CdRom quot Windows searches and opening things are awfully slow unresponsive er kind of it seems to pick up after a bit or something I just clicked through folders in my C drive and it was instantly responsive and Adobe Audition opened in less than seconds so I don't get it For example my music player MediaMonkey works fine but its not picking up my music library anymore and just says Reading files EDIT after typing this it finally loaded my files but damn it took a while It's weird though things are still snappy and quick just not the Windows bar on the bottom is obviously having problems like not reacting when I mouse over icons disappearing and reappearing and no longer snapping into place i'll just take a picture http i imgur com QmlFRIY png After I took the picture the MediaMonkey icon is no longer in half but the Adobe Audition one is The event viewer icon disappeared entirely when I moved the mouse over it but it comes back sometimes I can skip through my songs really fast without adverse effects which usually kills me if I'm defragging or something so I don't think its the hard drive I even booted up Bad Company and it ran smoothly from the few minutes I played apart from a split second black screen idk where that came from but it wasn't normal I already did a System Restore to no avail and chkdsk reported no problems This might be unrelated but I believe the night before this happened Chrome was blocked from accessing my graphics driver after the entire GPU driver crashed which it tends to do when browsing the net I think its a problem with the NVIDIA drivers and I had to force shut down because it was taking forever on quot Shutting down quot though it might've gone through if I'd given it more time seeing as now when it shuts down it takes ages but does work eventually What gives

A:Windows suddenly really slow

UPDATE: After leaving my computer on overnight, all programs that were supposed to appear during startup have finally turned on, and it is now correctly reading and recognizing my DVDRW Drive, when before it listed two unknown and unusable ones. It just took a really, really, really long time. Hopefully that'll at least help pinpoint the problem a bit more.

The main process that are using my memory is SVCHOST. Now i know all about how it has several different services attached to it (I tried looking). And that ending the process crashes windows! How do i tell which one is using all that memory? the services attached to it are:

AudioEndpointBuilder
hidserv
HomeGroupListener
IPBusEnum
NetMan
PcaSvc
SysMain
TrkWks
UxSms
WdiSystemHost
WlanSvc
Wudfsvc

That list wasn't easy and quick to make so could you help me

A:Suddenly, Windows 7 is not genuine

The installed Product Key is one that is ONLY valid on machines pre-installed with Windows 7 by the manufacturer.
Your machine was manufactured a year before windows 7 was released, and can NOT support such a Key.

You need to reformat and reinstall using genuine media and Key - or demand a refund from the vendor. (or both!)

Hello! I've just started configuring a new pc. After relocating the Users folder from the SSD to the HDD drive successfully (following the tutorial in this forum), i wanted to change the name of the user folder.

I activated my starting account, deleted the dummy one for the process and also activated the admin account via cmd("net user administrator /active:yes"). Then, I signed out of my user account to enter the Admin one and proceeded to change the folder name.

Result: Administrator user isn't showing up, and my user account has started asking for a password, so i have no option but entering a password. Blank password won't let me in.

Note i wasn't using any password, nor do i have set up any MS live account or given my phone number. Is there any way to solving this besides reinstalling Windows overwriting the system drive?

Hey everyone I'll give a quick rundown of my computer specs and I'll tell you what's going on First of all i - K CPU OCed at Ghz MSI motherboard cannot recall the actual model but I can figure it out if necessary GB RAM GB SSD Windows installed here TB HDD x GTX gb W PSU Ok here's what's going on I got on my PC tonight to copy a couple of my roommate's DVDs onto my computer and BSODing Windows suddenly I downloaded a couple well known programs to do so Any DVD Windows suddenly BSODing and clone DVD Programs that gave me no known issues in the past Suddenly I was playing a game on my PC and it kept freezing ultimately my computer BSOD'ed It did this a couple times and was unstable for a few more boots This is currently the longest it has stayed up since The first BSOD was about a half hour ago I'm currently running a scan on my PC for viruses and it hasn't found anything yet Here's the really weird thing though my temperature monitor gadgets are saying my CPU temps are currently C My liquid cooling loop never goes over C so I'm pretty sure something is bugged up in the BIOS or the CPU is dieing I'm also thinking the SSD may have corrupted hence all the blue screens but that wouldn't explain the whacky temperatures I loaded the BIOS and it froze I tried booting into safe mode and it froze But it doesn't seem to have any issues loading up into regular mode Except right now it is a LOT slower than normal Something is bogging it down but I don't what I would have downloaded that would be so malicious Oh my scan just came up clear but I won't trust it til I can get a scan in safe mode What's your opinion I'm really hoping this isn't something serious The CPU isnt more than months old The mainboard is the same age The SSD is MAYBE months I'm going to keep tinkering with it hopefully it just goes away I'll try to post the BSOD report if I can find it my c windows minidump file doesnt have any files older than July th EDIT So here's furthermore what I have discovered The high temperatures were not a false warning I took a look in my case and my water cooling loop was off The fans weren't spinning and the pump wasn't running The output hose was pretty darn warm I quickly made windows shut down it was doing updates During the shutdown process of installing the updates the loop back on and the fans started up again I don't know what happened but it worries me The computer was running at capacity like something was overloading it and when I restarted it again the computer did the same thing but temperatures dropped into a much more healthy C- C range What ever process was plaguing my CPU is now gone and it's running at it's normal rates Could this just be a hickup in the system Because now my computer is running at it's normal speedy self again thankfully but it's an uneasy thankfullness I'm totally open to opinions I would love to hear some insight to prevent this from happening again

Is that the problem?

A:My Windows 7 suddenly Freeze

I'm not exactly sure what it is, but it sounds to me like a harddrive lockup. I'm 99% sure this can also cause data loss, so if you have important pictures/documents I'd suggest using another computer until you figure out what the problem is. I could be wrong, but better safe than sorry.

Hello guys. Here's my strange problem. So i was with Windows Vista and i was browsing the internet when suddenly the computer stops working.I mean my mouse stops working, my keyboard and the OS too.The lights of the keyboard (caps lock, num lock) turned off.The laser of my mouse too.The windows stops completely too.It stays there like a picture.I mean even the emoticons werent moving (hope you understand me ).So i decided this was some virus and i put a fresh copy of windows seven.Everything was good, but then after 20 minutes (i was installing some players and antivirus program) it happened again I cant explain this.Hope you guys help me.I bet its some kind of hardware problem. Thanks in advance, guys

A:My windows suddenly stops...

Welcome!

This is certainly a hardware problem. What brand hard drive do you have? I would recommend going to the manufacturer's site and looking for their advanced disk diagnostic tools.

Also, you should probably test your RAM. Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn it to a CD using the Windows ISO-burning tool. Then boot up the CD and run at least 5 passes.

Hope we can get this figured out!

A:Windows suddenly says NOT GENUINE. but actually it is. Help me.

Please first try recreating Licensing Store.
Recreate the Licensing Store
Go to Start >All Programs > Accessories
Right-Click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator - accept the UAC prompt
Run the following commands in the Command Prompt window, using the Enter key at the end of each

net stop sppsvc

(wait until the service has stopped before entering the following lines)

CD %windir%\ServiceProfiles\NetworkService\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\SoftwareProtectionPlatform
REN tokens.dat tokens.bar
net start sppsvc
slui.exe

After a couple of seconds the Windows Activation dialog will appear.
You may be asked to re-activate and/or re-enter your product key, or Activation may occur automatically.
If you are asked for your Key, use the one on the COA sticker on the machine's case

Reboot and Postback with a new MGADiag report.

(Note:the Line 'CD %win......\SoftwareProtectionPlatform' is all on one line - it maybe broken in the Forum listing)

My computer was about to open After Effects Windows is Deleted Suddenly 7 when I got a blue screen On the very same day I also installed system updates from the Windows updater including optional ones then installed more and or some of the same ones again using Advanced System Care I didn't reboot in between the use of those two programs so that might have caused this So far I know that everything in the OS drive except for the recycle bin cache has been deleted But I've been able to find what appears to be almost all the files using data recovery programs on Hiren's Boot CD Windows 7 is Suddenly Deleted But there are probably some files that can't be physically moved on the disk or they won't do their job So I'm wondering if any of the recovery programs on HBCD are aware of such files and will put them in the appropriate physical location Or if all the recovered files' physical locations don't change from the time of deletion at least for ones that don't overlap

A:Windows 7 is Suddenly Deleted

Hey Painful1. Unfortunately, as per Forum Rules, we cannot assist you with anything related to HBCD.

Hey,

I recently purchased a PCMCIA USB card for my Acer Aspire 6530.

After downloading a few drivers and installing the software, not only does the USB card still not work, but Windows 7 now says its not genuine.

This is really starting to aggravate me as for the last 3 months iv been using USB ports that randomly connect and disconnect, and now after getting this card I may have to reinstall again.

Why is Windows 7 now complaining that its not valid!?

I purchased it off a reputable company and it came with its CoA in an undamaged, sealed box.

Thanks,
Jessee

Hi,

I have a problem that hopefully someone can help with. My laptop was working perfectly fine until it froze, and now I cannot boot up.

When I start it up, it goes to a screen with the Advent logo in the middle, and says Press Del to run Setup, Tab to display BIOS Post Message, F11 for Multi-Boot Menu and F8 for Recovery.

After I press F8 it goes to a screen saying

'Reboot and select proper Boot device
Or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key'

The IT person at my mum's school fixed it once (has happened for a second time now) and advised me to press F8 and then do startup + repair? But all that happens when I press F8 is the above.

I have no idea when it comes to this stuff. Any help is hugely appreciated, thanks!

A:Windows suddenly not starting

Are there any options listed when you reach the F8 screen?

Also, try pressing Del and see if that brings you to your BIOS. If it does, navigate until you find the section for your harddrive. Let us know if one is listed there.

It sounds like a harddrive failure, but it could be a few things given the current information.

That's it, my windows 7 sometimes suddenly crashes, no blue screen (BSOD?) it just freezes.
I've read the instructions and I attach here the perfom report html files and the Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 data. However I've cracked my head trying to know where the dmp file is (i don't have a Minidump foler in my Windows folder) so someone please help me with that.
The reason of the crashes are not determined yet, sometimes watching a movie, sometimes listening music, sometimes playing an rts game. I've done the windows's memory test (basic) and no errors so far.
Pretty happy with windows 7 until this started happening.

Hi Marcos and welcome to the forum. There is nothing attached. Read this turotial regarding setting your computer for mini dumps. Read the last part of the first post. But do upload the files generated by the jcgriff tool.

I recently have run into a number of problems that I've tried to solve on my own, but now I'm at my wit's end. Here is what I've done so far.
windows built in calculator wouldn't run (this app can't open check the Microsoft store).sfc /scannow - got corrupted file errors (unable to fix)ran DISM restorehealth with a mounted usb iso, got remote procedure call failedtried to restore with restore point. I had absolutely created a restore when the last issue arose and was fixed but it's not there now.ran reset, failed with "no changes were made"

I have run DISM successfully in the past so I don't think it's operator error. If anyone is familiar with problems like this I could use some help. I've been running Windows 10 since December, and occasionally getting an error which up till now I could fix with either sfc or dism. Now I'm stuck.

A:Windows 7 Suddenly Not Genuine?!

The "00359-233" in the Windows Product ID indicates your copy of Windows is a not-for-resale MSDN version. Whoever sold it to you did so illegally, so you need to contact the seller and demand a refund. I would not accept a replacement key which too may be illegal.
