Preferred Solution: BSOD during downloading and few applications up

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Mate still need the specs can you just add them to your profile? it does make life so much easier.

Also it would be handy to know what was happening at the time playing idling etc etc WE have no real info to go on so could tyou run Speccy if possible?

If you can too run these in safe mode if yo can get that.

Hi All,

Hope someone can help as I've tried everything I can and cannot get my laptop working properly.
I have satellite pro, windows vista, I am connected to the internet via wireless.

I cannot download messenger, programmes such as shockwave player nor games from websites, I have previously had no problem, I just keep getting error message that I should check my internet connection, I'm puzzled as I am connected have checked all the internet settings, whether ssl?? is ticked?
proxy settings etc, i just cannot figure it out
when trying to download a game it starts the running process up until it is about to upload then the error message, I cannot download any internet updates from windows I get the same message, I think this must just be a case of something ticked in the wrong place?

Thanks

A:Problems downloading different applications

Hi,

Hmmm... It's strange issue. You should try

1 Scan for viruses.
2 Disable firewall/antivirus for a while to be sure if it doesn't block.
3 Update Wlan driver

http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/wlan/?page=downloads

have you tried to connect a lan cable to check if the same issue happens?

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know if there is a way to download just OpenOffice Writer instead of the whole suite?
I have Impress and Draw, but I want Writer also. I am running Windows XP Home SP2.
I will e-mail their service department if no one knows.
Thank you.

Hi,
Unfortunately the installation is counterfeit.
The Key is that of a Dell OEM computer - and the motherboard is a retail one by Asus.

The best course of action is to:Purchase a legitimate Windows 7 licence.
Format the HDD.
Reinstall Windows and activate.

Hi everybody,

My monitor goes into power save mode while I am in the middle of different applications and somtimes right before it blacks out I get the BSOD. It has been happening more frequently recently. I have uploaded my minidumps and listed the main problem flag I get in the action center. Any insight anyone can give me about this issue would be awesome. Thanks in advance.

I am really a rookie when it comes to computer issues. But the main error codes i get inside the action center are:

A:BSOD's when using PC in various applications

Hello Duncun.

Your crash dumps are not showing any finite probable cause. In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

   Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

   Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

   Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

Free up the startup.
Click on the Start button
Type ?msconfig (without quotes), click the resulting link. It will open the System Configuration window.
Select the ?Startup? tab.
Deselect all items other than the antivirus.
Apply > OK
Accept the restart.
If possible, plan to update the BIOS.

I'm getting BSOD while playing games, all my components are at clock settings, It happens with multiple games doesn't matter which one and it might happen ever 3-4 hours, this might see trivial but it seems to be more frequent when opening back up the game from ALT tabbing or when closing the game.

I've ran Memory Diagnostics and Hard Drive Error checker and came across nothing. I've also re-installed graphics drivers. Where should I go from here.

A:BSOD when exiting applications

No system specs entered, which would help.
But doing a google search for bcc code 50 comes up with two potential areas. (1) Memory and (2) run chkdsk /f on the OS. But memory would be my suggestion to start with. If you have a memory or complete PC hardware diagnostic, such as the diagnostic partition on many Dell's (accessed by F12 at power on) run the diagnostics.

Hello, so i just moved to my university hostel and i brought my pc too. And here it all started.
Firstly pc didn't fully boot up( there was no beep sound on starting, and gpu fans did repetitive noise like fan speeds up then slows down, speeds up, slows down...)
I tried rearranging ram, and it finally booted up. But then every game started causing BSOD, sometimes they just crashed(stopped working).
I did memtest86 on both 2gb ram sticks, and both shoved errors on test 6 and 9, no else. So i bought new 2gb ram stick, and I'm still having BSODs.
I can't extract almost any of bigger archive files, it gives somekind of Checksum error.
Also here power is lost almost once a week. Could it be underpower problem?

What could you suggest?
Thanks.

Hi Kolu.

Test your RAM modules for possible errors.
How to Test and Diagnose RAM Issues with Memtest86+
Run memtest for at least 8 passes, preferably overnight.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.

If memtest86+ does not find any issue there, do the following:

1. ► Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known BSOD causer. Uninstall the program at first. Then download SPTD standalone installer from Disk-Tools.com, and execute the downloaded file as guided below :
Double click to open it.
Click this button only:

If it is grayed out, as in the picture, there is no more SPTD in your system, and you just close the window.
2. ► Uninstall ESET.

Code:

Use Microsoft Security Essentials as your antivirus with windows inbuilt firewall, and free MBAM as the on demand scanner.
Download, install and update those, and then run full system scans with both of them, one by one.

3. ► Install the NVIDIA DRIVERS 314.22WHQL only.
Uninstall All nvidia items in Control Panel > Programs and features3D Vision Control Driver
3D Vision Driver
Graphics Driver
HD Audio Driver
PhysX
nvidia Update
(Are you using nvidia chipset drivers? If so, dont uninstall anything other than those are listed).
Now follow Drivers - Clean Left over Files after Uninstalling
Download 314.22 WHQL. While installing, Select Custom (Advanced) install. In the next page, follow this settings:
4. ► Remove the PCI to USB converter if you have any. And change your keyboard.

Hey,

So yesterday I was playing Planetside 2 and randomly hit a BSOD. I didn't think too much of it but it happened again today whilst I was using 3DS Max. My PC has been on for a good few hours but it wasn't heating issues, all my temps seem fine and GPU is between 30-60c and CPU is normally around 20-50c.

I didn't note the error code sorry but I used the SF Diagnostic Tool which I attached to the thread.

My specs are:
CPU - i7-2600k stock clocks
RAM - 16GB Corsair Vengeance
MB - Asus P8P67 Pro
GPU - GigaByte GeForce 670
PSU - Cooler Master Silent Pro 850W
STORAGE - 2x 120GB OCZ Vertex 3 (One is my system drive) 1x Seagate Barracuda 1TB
OS - Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit

Thanks!

For the first two months I never had problems with blue screens, after a while and reformatting my computer to clean it a bit, my computer started to crash. Mainly IRQL_NOT_LESS_GREATER. These BSOD come periodically, and come only when using gaming applications such as World of Warcraft and other single player games.
Other things of note would be I am sharing network connection with two other computers on a belkin router, the problem started to occur when I installed this router.
I've tried Memtest for almost 8 hours and not one error. I've tried reinstalling and checking drivers, they seem up to date. I'm thinking its some other hardware problems such as my videocard, or possibly the router.

Hi there

I just formatted my computer, and I have been experiencing a lot of unwanted behaviour.

Yesterday and today combined, I have crashed probably 5 times, and a lot of programs have crashed as well while it was running. World of Warcraft especially has crashed 15 times or so.

Anyway, compiled a zip file using a tool that you recommended, which is attached to this post.

Please let me know if you need any more info.

I appreciate your help.

Hello Maldark,

Test your Hardware for Stability and Heat Problems:

Prime95. Be sure to keep an eye on your temperatures when running these tests, especially the Large FFTs.
Stress Test Video Card with Furmark
Test your CPU Stability with IntelBurnTest.
Temp Monitoring

Check for heating issues using Speccy or HWMonitor.

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.RAM - Test with Memtest86+

The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.*Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.
If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot.*If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.
*If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.
3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot.*If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.
*If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.
4. If you find a stick that passes the test, test it in all the other motherboard slots.

If Part 2 testing shows errors, and all tests in Part 3 show errors, you will need to test the RAM sticks in another computer and/or test other RAM in your computer to identify the problem.

In this way, you can identify whether it is a bad stick of RAM, a bad motherboard, or incompatibility between the sticks.

   Information
Errors are sometimes found after 8 passes.

   Tip
Memtest should be done overnight.

That is a XBox USB wireless controller. BSOD issues in Win7 with 2009 driver (found in mid-2012). I would suggest you update the driver if you can. You also have Dameon Tools installed which is a known cause of BSODs, please uninstall it.

Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause of BSOD's.

1. Uninstall Daemon Tools.
2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
- Double click the executable to open it
- Click the button shown below

If the button it is grayed out, as shown in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can just close the window.

I know you said you ran it, but please open an elevated command prompt ( click start, type cmd in the search box, right click on the cmd entry and select run as administrator) in the black box that opens, copy/paste sfc /scannow. If you decide to type it, notice the space between the sfc and the /. It is a system file checker which will scan your system files and attempt to correct any missing or corrupt files. What we want are the results to say windows found no integrity violations. If it says files were found but could not be repaired, close the box, reboot and run it again, after opening the administrative command prompt. You may have to reboot and run it three times for it to repair all system files. If it can't repair them after 3 reboots, let us know.

Also, please go to your Motherboard web site and see if you can find updated drivers.

It is OK if you don't understand computers, no need to apologize. 60?C is not hot at all. Your system did not shut down because of that temp. But, I would like you to download temp monitoring programs for the CPU and GPU and keep track of them at all times. I would also like you to try reinstalling your graphics drivers. Please use the method in this tutorial, NVIDIA Drivers - Avoid Problems. Any additional details you could provide in your system specs would be helpful. We often need to look up a component and Manufacturer and Model is necessary to do that. Please include your PSU and CPU cooler too, as well as anything connected to the PC other than keyboard and mouse.

Hello,

a few days ago my card began to crash my laptop 3 minutes or so into any of my 3d games. I've tried updating to the latest drivers and system restores, and this solves nothing - games suddenly sputter, die and cause a restart. I'm beginning to suspect it might be the hardware, but i really hope it isn't.

I've attached the required zip below

i also ran driver verifier and did get a bluescreen on startup, with the stop code

please help! Thank you!

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 7 Forums

   Note

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

Hey there, this is my first post on these forums, so I do apologize if I make a mistake with formatting/etc. I am not super savvy with the BSOD/software end of the world, but I have narrowed down a few of my problems. My newest and most frustrating issue is a recurring BSOD that happens when I open/close certain programs. Often times when I am opening/closing Steam games, I get this BSOD. I know through searching, ntoskrnl.exe is often not to blame, but running bluescrenview yields that as the number one culprit.
Can someone please help identify the issue? I have attached my dump files, let me know if further information is needed.

Thank you in advance,

I've had this error come up when closing apps World of Warcraft most frequently as well as once a minute after BSOD applications DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE closing or two into watching a full screen video from the Blizzard app launcher The failure never seems to happen when I'm 'doing' things only after starting or closing applications I'm not sure if that's coincidental or not but I thought perhaps it might be something to do with the system attempting to switch between the Nvidia graphics card GTX M and the Intel HD one I took a look at the dump files BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE after closing applications the diagnostic tool generates for me and BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE after closing applications it's pointing to x F VRF ACPI IMAGE pci sys as the faulting driver I used device manager to attempt to find updates for the PCI Express Root Complex driver using the windows search and it's as up to date as Windows is aware of This laptop also included a quot Smart Update quot tool which searches for updated system drivers as well as Nvidia controls for driver updates and changing settings based on game profiles I updated the Nvidia driver using their tool but have had additional BSODs same code since then The quot Smart Update quot tool doesn't find any new drivers for anything though it does say that my Nvidia graphics card is a higher release than the quot official BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE after closing applications quot version I'm not keen on downgrading though since the dump looks to point to the pci sys driver rather than a video card driver Windows is current on all updates though I did find two optional ones which I will install after posting this one is for intel graphics the other looks unrelated Edit Had another BSOD after installing Windows updates so no help there Will generate a new dump if needed Any suggestions for next steps Thanks

A:BSOD DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE after closing applications

.....it's as up to date as Windows is aware of.

Unfortunately, Windows isn't very aware at all when it comes to driver updates. It only checks it's own database - so if the manufacturer or the OEM hasn't uploaded the driver - then Windows won't know that there is an update available. This has gotten better as the Windows line matures - but still is a far cry from being a very useful tool. I only use it for drivers when setting up new PC's - and then I visit the PC manufacturer's site to see if they have any more recent updates.

Always upload the memory dumps after a crash. Every additional data point helps us out (and I use an automated tool to generate the results of the analysis). It's easiest just to zip up the contents of C:\Windows\Minidump and upload it with your next post (you may have to copy it to your Desktop in order to zip it up). I'll sort out which one's haven't been run yet and will run an analysis on it/theml.

************************************
Please turn Driver Verifier off. To do this, open up verifier.exe and select "Delete existing settings", then click on "Finish". Restart the system in order for the changes to take effect.

I got 3 things from the memory dumps:
- there is involvement with the video, so we have to update video drivers and test the video hardware
- there are traces of networking components in the raw stack text of each memory dump - so the problem may be related to networking drivers
- the VIA Audio drivers date from 2009 - so they may be causing issues. They must be updated or replaced.

Start with these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics As we suspect video problems, start with the video tests.

Then replace (uninstall then reinstall a fresh copy) your video drivers. Get the latest, Win8.1 compatible version available from the Gigabyte website for your laptop (the Intel graphics drivers, the nVidia graphics drivers, and the switching software drivers).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

VMfilt64.sys Thu Jul 30 23:40:32 2009 (4A7267B0)
Via Audio Driver
VMfilt64.sys - this driver hasn't been added to the DRT as of this run. Please search Google/Bing for the driver if additional information is needed.

http://www.carrona.org/drivers/driver.php?id=LGVirHid.sys

Please note the drivers below that date from before the release of Windows 8.1 (17 Oct 2013) - check to see that each and every one is compatible w/Windows 8.1 (at the manufacturer's website). If not, you must either remove the device and it's software - or locate a Windows 8.1 compatible update on the web. Removing some drivers may make the system unstable - so if you're unable to find updates, post back for info on the one's that can/cannot be safely removed.

The drivers that are struckout don't have updates available (AFAIK).
DO NOT delete them, just leave them be.

Welcome to the forum.

Make sure your dump logging is enabled.
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click System.
Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
Check Write an even to the system log, and Automatically restart.
In the Write debugging information list, click Small memory dump (256k).

Location of Dumps:
C:\Windows\minidump

Uninstall Bit Defender and use MSE in its place.

Microsoft Security Essentials is recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability compared to other internet security software. Malwarebytes is a great combo to MSE. They are free and lightweight.

Also uninstall your existing Antivirus software before you install MSE.

Good and Free system security combination.

I've attached the various diagnostic files. I went through this process a few weeks ago and the culprit was MagicISO, which was successfully uninstalled (at least I hope so) and I don't recall installing a new software. Windows did run an update, not sure if this would cause the BSOD.

Thanks in advance

I have checked your latest dump, it indicates tcpip.sys as the cause.

tcpip.sys is network related. As I am seeing, your Marvell Yukon 88E8071 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller Driver is very old.

So, upgrade the network driver:

1] download the network card driver from manufactuer's website.
2] Then reinstall the driver:
3] Click the Start Button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Start Menu Search box and press Enter.
4] Double click to expand "Network adaptors".
5] Right click your network card and click Uninstall.
6] Check "Delete driver software for this device" check box, click OK.
7] Restart the computer

If windows does not auto configure the appropriate drivers at startup, install the downloaded one manually.

Let us know the result.

Edit: Your ATI display driver is very old, too! You should update it.

Hi everyone I've been Torrent New from Applications BSOD Seagate HDD, having a lot of problems with torrenting lately I tried to figure out why I kept getting BSOD's from simply installing the torrent applications on my computer It all started when I needed a new hard drive I bought a Seagate HDD at Best Buy back in October After installing everything that New Seagate HDD, BSOD from Torrent Applications I needed to on my computer I started having problems I would constantly get blue screens which I couldn't figure out for a long time I've got two laptops The one I'm primarily using is a Samsung QX with Windows -bit and the other is an ASUS X U with Windows -bit Both not running torrents and ended up with constant BSOD's I took the Samsung in to Best Buy and they told me I had viruses even with my virus protector giving me no warning of having a single virus on my computer After downloading uTorrent I apparently had this weird uTorrent toolbar which I believed at the time that what was driving the viruses I've never had a single problem with torrents or uTorrent ever up until now I downloaded uTorrent off of their website I even tried Bittorrent but that ended up with these apparent quot viruses quot as well Somehow this StartNow toolbar known for vicious viruses had been added to my computer without my knowledge and this other strange toolbar that gave me a weird homepage with virus ads below a Bing search bar in the center Evidently the new Seagate HDD I bought for the Samsung did fail and I ended up having to get a new one replaced and installed I lost everything on my computer Now I'm using a the nd new HDD and it's already given me problems with BSODs I wanted to see if I could transfer the uTorrent over from the ASUS since it's no longer having torrent or blue screen issues instead of downloading it from uTorrent's website and it still gave me another BSOD I took it back into Best Buy recently and they told me that I had viruses this time completely out of no where since everything on my computer was completely brand new and they removed uTorrent off of my computer once again I haven't had a single problem since they removed it but I just don't understand what I can do about the Blue Screening I can't use these Blue Screen applications to recognize what's causing the problem since every time I get a BSOD it says failed to create dump files I honestly don't know what's going on but I'm almost afraid to torrent anything anymore I'm very safe on what I download I've been doing this for many years Now all of the sudden I have to take my laptop in every other week Any help would be great Thanks so much

Hi,

I really hope you can help with this. The dumps are from a new PC with some bespoke applications and serial hardware.

Thank you in advance for any advice you can offer.

This is my first time posting here and I'm not sure how things work but from several forums I noticed that you need minidump files from driver verifier in order to see what seems to be the problem. I hope this is enough.

Thanks in advance!

Hey all Recently my laptop got its first BSOD which happened when I was switching channels in KvIRC An IRC client After I rebooted the entire folder containing When KvIRC.exe) (Steam.exe, applications Launching certain BSOD KvIRC was deleted so I guess there was something with the contents that windows disagreed with After that I tried opening up Steam the video game platform but my laptop straight away froze crashed and brought me to the blue screen As far as I can tell all steam-related files BSOD When Launching certain applications (Steam.exe, KvIRC.exe) are still in place The only recent hardware software change to my laptop is the removal of my CD Drive Software-wise nothing has been installed uninstalled in a few weeks After searching around for a bit I came to a couple of threads which advised of doing a sfc scannow however I got the message that quot Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them quot and I'm unable to determine which files need fixing I ran antivirus scans with ESET NOD Malwarebytes and Hitmanpro all resulting in detections I tried recreating the BSOD instance and as thought launching steam caused another BSOD except this time it was delayed by minutes My laptop has been running for hours now I didn't try launch steam again and so far so good Thank you in advance for any help you can provide me EDIT I've included the SFCdetails txt in the attachments in case this can help anyone determine what's going wrong

A:BSOD When Launching certain applications (Steam.exe, KvIRC.exe)

Just to bump my thread and also provide an update to the situation.

Since the creation of this thread, my laptop underwent 5 or 6 additional BSOD events. I've managed to actually remember the error code (it's been the same one in each case) and it's 0x0000007A, followed by a few other string of 0's in brackets (I think one of them was 0x0000000000004, probably more 0's). There's also some text that reads KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR. The crashes have occurred at seemingly random intervals this time, so I don't think it's application related after all, since there's been crashes even while idling, but I might be wrong.

The only hardware/software change since the creation of the thread was the installation of a few video games (Europa Universalis IV and Civilization V). Hardware-change-wise, nothing different.

I've included an updated report, in case anything's different.

Cheers in advance for any help provided

Getting it for quite some time now, mostly for games. I started just going to the task manager and close the exe instead of exiting the games properly from the fear that ill get that BSoD.

I've also ran memtest (since google suggested it might be a RAM issue) and I let it run for over 5 hours with 5 passes and 0 errors, which is enough to be confident that it isn't the issue.
Will appreciate any help, Thanks.

A:BSoD after closing full screen applications

The issue is still ongoing, would be great to have some BSOD guru replying. ^^

I am getting lock ups whilst loading multiple applications at once. Most often this occurs when first booting a game or internet site with video.

I have Windows 7 Professional x64 full retail version, on a fresh install ~1 month old. Computer hardware is ~2.5 years old.

Sorry but no DMP files upload try this method
If you wish to have others assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder. The procedure:

* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
* Briefly describe the problem history and circumstances in the same post. Somebody will attend to your query as soon as possible.

A:BSOD playing Skyrim and other graphic applications

Two issues.

1- Bug check 116 (read below)

2-asacpi.sys (yours from 2004)

Asacpi.sys

The pre 2009 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.

Quote:
Please visit this link: Asus tek computer inc. -support- drivers and download p7p55d le

ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. - Motherboards- ASUS P5K-VM

Scroll down to the utilities category, then scroll down to the "atk0110 driver for windowsxp/vista/windows 7 32&64-bit" (it's about the 12th item down).

Download and install it.

Go to c:\windows\system32\drivers to check and make sure that the asacpi.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (not before).

Quote:
"It's not a true crash, in the sense that the bluescreen was initiated only because the combination of video driver and video hardware was being unresponsive, and not because of any synchronous processing exception".

Since Vista, the "Timeout Detection and Recovery" (TDR) components of the OS video subsystem have been capable of doing some truly impressive things to try to recover from issues which would have caused earlier OSs like XP to crash.

As a last resort, the TDR subsystem sends the video driver a "please restart yourself now!" command and waits a few seconds.

If there's no response, the OS concludes that the video driver/hardware combo has truly collapsed in a heap, and it fires off that stop 0x116 BSOD.

If playing with video driver versions hasn't helped, make sure the box is not overheating.

Try removing a side panel and aiming a big mains fan straight at the motherboard and GPU.

Run it like that for a few hours or days - long enough to ascertain whether cooler temperatures make a difference.

If so, it might be as simple as dust buildup and subsequently inadequate cooling.

I would download cpu-z and gpu-z (both free) and keep an eye on the video temps

Hello my pc specs are windows professional x ASUS M A GTD PRO USB mobo AMD T stock clock x GB GSkill ddr Mhz V nVidia GTX heavily overclocked in that past currently at stock x SATA IDE HDDs Corsair TX W PSU For the last couple of weeks I have been having BSODs when running d graphics intensive apps The crash occurs most when running dx - apps and almost never when running OpenGL apps like furmark I have tried multiple troubleshooting solutions generally used in this scenario reset mobo to stock voltages CPU was moderately overclocked earlier went all the way from level forceware graphics drivers to the beta drivers ran memtest stable and running intensive applications BSOD graphic prime stable for a few hours ran furmark for about mins stable reinstalled windows reseated RAM tried the other channel updated every BSOD running graphic intensive applications driver i could The problem started after Dragon Age spazzed out on me a couple of weeks ago running BSOD running graphic intensive applications the game in dx mode fixed the issue Then i started playing Assassin's BSOD running graphic intensive applications Creed Brotherhood which ran smoothly for a while then started BSODing frequently now i can play for maybe minutes before a crash I was still able to play Call of Duty Black Ops without crashes but after some of the latest crashes after running Unigine heaven bench even that seems to cause a crash I think I have done enough to isolate the problem to either mobo or gfx card It would be very nice if i could get an expert opinion on the matter before starting any RMA

A:BSOD running graphic intensive applications

Code:
ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005 (42476C4C)
A known BSOD maker in Windows 7. The 2005 version of this driver is known to cause BSOD on Windows 7 systems.
Download the ATK0110 utility from here - ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download P7P55D LE.
After you install it browse to C:\windows\system32\drivers and check the properties of ASACPI.sys and make sure it now says 2009.

There were more USB bugchecks then video card errors. What type of USB devices do you have hooked up to the computer?

I see the driver RTCore64.sys in your unloaded drivers. Do you have RivaTuner/EVGA Precision/MSI Afterburner (known issues w/Win7) installed? If you do, uninstall it.

Please run these tests and report back the results
1. Memtest86 - Run for 7-8 passes - RAM - Test with Memtest86+
2. Prime95 - Run all three tests (Small FFTs, Large FFTs, Blend) for 3-4 hours each or until fail - http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...t-prime95.html
3. Hard drive scan usings SeaTools - SeaTools for Windows | Seagate - Both long and short tests

Hi All,

I've gotten random BSOD for nearly a month now, and I've tried many of the usual suspects with no resolution. I come now to the collective seeking wisdom. Things I've tried thus far with no success (not necessarily in this order);

1. Memtest86. No errors
2. Chkdsk /F No errors
3. Western Digital disk check utility. No errors
3. Antivirus is clean
4. Flash BIOS
5. Replaced power supply
6. Ran Hot CPU Tester Pro for MB errors. No errors
7. GPU torture test (I forget the utility). No errors.
8. Windows reinstall
9. Updated GPU drivers

I'm officially stuck. Any help would be appreciated like you would not believe. I've uploaded the sf diag file. Thanks for your help!

A:Persistent BSOD, Varying Parameters Usually During Gaming Applications

Hello and welcome .

The dump uploaded is practically useless .

Code:
BugCheck 7F, {8, 80050031, 6f8, fffff80002e95e3f}
What we can tell is is it was a double fault (by looking at the 1st parameter which is 8
of the 0x7F bugcheck code), all it means is that an exception was being handled and while it was
a second exception occurred.

Code:
Kernel stack not resident.
Usually I would ask for the Kernel memory dump but I don't think it will help us in this case.
Please run Driver verifier in order to induce a bugcheck which will help us with future diagnosing.

A question, for how many passes did you allow memtest86 go through?

Hi,

Your logs show issues with Norton/Symantec and GPU drivers:

Code:

Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.
BugCheck A, {fffffffffffffff8, 2, 0, fffff80002e9ad21}
Probably caused by : ntkrnlmp.exe ( nt!KiInsertTimerTable+171 )
STOP 0x0000000A: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Usual causes: Kernel mode driver, System Service, BIOS, Windows, Virus scanner, Backup tool, compatibility.

Please remove Symantecs Endpoint Protection.

Faulting drivers: IDSvia64.sys, EX64.SYS, ENG64.SYS, Ironx64.sys.
Refers to: Norton Internet Security / Symantec/ Norton NIS/ N360 driver

Please run the Norton Removal Tool and remove all Norton / Symantec programs.

As an alternative, please download and install:

Microsoft Security Essentials.
Recommended from a strict BSOD perspective, compatibility & stability
compared to other antiviruses/internet security software.

   Note
Once downloaded, update and run a full system scan

Your GPU drivers show as faulting:

Code:
start end module name
fffff880`0568d000 fffff880`061a3000 atikmdag
Please Create a System Restore Point

Uninstall your existing driver and Catalyst Control Centre:

http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/catalyst-uninstall-utility.aspx

Then update your ATI drivers to this version:

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/radeonaiw_win8-64.aspx

(*Just install the driver only)

Test the memory:

I would firstly try re-seating the RAM, ensure they are free from dust, and seated properly.
Then run memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/105647-ram-test-memtest86.html

   Tip
Run these tests overnight, pay particular attention to #3 in tutorial if errors occur

Remove any unused / unecessary programs and ensure you have all Windows Updates installed.

Post back any results.

Cheers

Dave

Forgot to mention, i use uTorrent..

I've been experiencing BSOD's while downloading a big number of files in a row (such as a photo album photo-by-photo), no issue when downloading a single or a few files in a row.
Well it gives two different bsod's: sometimes its BAD_POOL_CALLER, sometimes its APC_INDEX_MISMATCH.. first one caused by driver "ksaud.sys", I found it related to my audio driver.. but it is okay.. all my audio features work 100% OK, I have no idea why it thinks its my audio(I've tried different drivers too) and second one is "ntoskrnl.exe".
Only happens with Firefox, no issues in Chrome or IE.

System is overclocked, but is very stable, no instability issues what so ever.
Specs in my profile.

Any ideas?

i recently purchased a HP dv7 with W7 Home Premium x64 installed.

while i am happy most of the time with the new OS (i used Wxp untill then), the frequent BSODs are starting to get annoying.
i tried to analyse the minidunp files myself with the Windbg tool.
in one of the dump files the problem seemed to be the HP Wireless LAN driver. after updating this driver, the BSOD's got less.

My feeling is that the BSODs have something to do with a combination of usenet / newsleecher (software) and downloading large amounts of files.

I zipped the recent BSODs and hope someone can guide me through the process.

Additional info:
i am planning to upgrade to W7 Ultimate x64 soon.

Welcome to SF!

I suspect Norton is causing the problem, or at least contributing to it. Uninstall it completely in Programs and Features, and then run this removal tool: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/englis...moval_Tool.exe

Then download and install Microsoft Security Essentials.

Let us know how it turns out.

A BSOD appears every time when I download large files from the Internet. It says driver irql not less than or equal usually a couple minutes after the download starts. I'm not very good with computers, so could someone look at the minidump file and tell me what the problem is? I'm new here and this problem has going on for a while. Also, safe mode seems to fix the problem but its just a temporary solution. Thanks for your help

We do have some other bugchecks that can only be properly analysed with Kernel Memory Dumps.

Code:
BugCheck 101, {19, 0, fffff880009b3180, 4}
The reason we need Kernel Memory Dumps is because this bugcheck indicates a processor is not responding to interrupts, more specifically a clock interrupt was initiated to keep the processors in sync, the signal is sent out, then the processors have to respond within the allocated time interval which in this case was 19 ticks, because processor 4 didn't respond so the system bugchecks.

The 3rd parameter is the address of the PRCB which contains information about the processes running.

Now minidumps only record the processor that initiated the bugcheck which isn't the one that was at fault so we cannot properly analyse the cause, it might be caused by the gigabyte bloatware but we'll see.

Evening,
I have had no problems with this PC until recently. The first time it happened today it stated a 0x000007A error and every other time has been a 0x00000F4 error.
August 8th was the first time it started getting BSOD, which happens to be the last time a dump file was made.
I have set it to write a small memory dump file when it crashes, but I have had 3 crashes since doing that and no files have been written.
I have performed the "SFC /scannow" command and no errors came up.
For some reason the DM Log collector program didn't make a zip file, so I converted it to a .rar file which is attached.
If you need any event viewer history (which I've looked through and couldn't find anything related to the power failure) let me know.

Thanks,
Slangster

A:BSOD running multiple applications, errors 0x000007A and 0x00000F4

It appears that the issue is with the HDD, Caviar Green 1 TB.

Have you changed the partition type from MBR to GPT? Let us know. If so, how have you done it?

We need to see your disc management window.
Right click on the My Computer icon> Select manage. It will open the computer management window.
Click on the "Disc Management" in the left pane.
Make the window Full Screen.
Take a screenshot using snipping tool
Upload the image here following this instructions.
Also test the HDD using Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows. Take both the short and extended test. Let us know the result.

A:Windows 7 BSOD while downloading

The systeminfo report shows that you don't have any Windows Updates installed. There are at least 45 to 60 (or more) available for Windows 7. Please visit the Windows Update site and get the updates ASAP!

MSINFO32 shows issues with your keyboard and PS2 mouse. Please check in Device Manager to see if it lists any problems.

There are 4 memory dumps which show 3 different BSOD error codes and they blame 4 different causes. Couple this with the recent reinstall of Windows and I'd suspect a hardware problem (compatibility problems are also possible, but are less likely).

Since your wireless USB driver is from 2007, I'd have to suspect that. I'd also suspect it because there are known issues with wireless USB devices using Vista drivers. Please do the following:
- download a copy of the latest Win7 drivers for your device. If Win7 drivers aren't available please post back with the make and model of the device
- uninstall the wireless USB software and drivers currently installed on your system.
- install the freshly downloaded Win7 drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

If this doesn't fix things, please post back and we'll start trying to track down the problem with the hardware.

Hello,

I keep getting BSOD when I start downloading any torrent, I have tried utorrent and bittorrent clients.
It started to happen recently after I found my bro had downloaded some keygens. Antivirus and AntiMalware programs picked nothing.

BSOD error message:
driver_irql_not_less_or_equal netio.sys

A:Help - BSOD when downloading torrents

Only 82 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 100 - 150 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Uninstall HotSpot Shield - it is known to have BSOD issues with Windows.

Many more Live Kernel Events than Bugcheck Events. This may be a symptom of hardware/low-level issues.
Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

A:BSOD After Downloading Torrents.

IMAGE_NAME: bdfndisf.sys This is a Bit Defender Firewall driver, seems to be the problem.Worth reading, IMO: http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?sho...amp;#entry64407Not the same conclusion I would draw, but close. I would have suggested that the Bit Defender package is corrupt/damaged and suggested uninstalling it, then reinstalling (or using a different product).Let's assume that the other person is correct . Do not upgrade. If the suggested fix doesn't work, then I say uninstall Bit Defender and use free AV and firewall products (for that matter, the XP firewall is sufficient). Those of us who use 3d-party firewalls tend to do so because we like some feature/additional info, etc. that will not be provided by the XP firewall.Louis

The title basically says it all. I started to download Neverwinter this afternoon and about 15% through while looking at some youtube videos the first BSOD happened. I tried it again and it made it to about 94% then the second BSOD happened. I was looking at youtube videos for each. I downloaded and ran the SF Diagnostic Tool. Any chance I could play Neverwinter tonight?

For the time being, uninstall your Anti-Virus,

AV Uninstallers

And Install Microsoft Security Essentials which we know doesn't cause BSOD's.

That should get you to playing your game and you can sort out an alternate AV later if you don't want MSE.

Yep looks like a Network Driver issue since it happens only while downloading.
Have to tried different download managers ?Maybe it is bcoz of software incompatibility.
Look for updated drivers and/or if it was working before then try the driver rollback feature.

You appear to have issues with your HDD, you can do two things.
One is to run a chkdsk to scan and fix errors on your HDD.
Please follow these instructions on how to run a chkdsk.

Disk Check

Then can you please run Seatools to see if your HDD is failing.
Follow these instructions.

The antivirus you are currently using is known and contributing to your BSOD crashes, consider uninstalling it with the McAfee Removal Tool + ESET antivirus(with its removal tool because it contributes in crashes on some systems), replace with Microsoft Security Essentials at least to test and just FYI, keeping two antiviruses will be causing conflicts anyway.

You can however install ESET back if we know that it wasn't contributing in the BSODs, but I dare install Mcafee if it was my PC.

These software can contribute in BSOD's. For drivers, prefer visiting the manufacturers website for latest drivers. The windows 7 operating system does not require these registry cleaning software. They often tune-down rather than tune-up and can wreck the OS beyond repair. Microsoft have improved Windows 7 significantly and it is much better at organising and optimising itself than its predecessors. Check this, this and this thread for evidence.

If you feel the need to use a registry cleaning or optimisation software, most of us recommend the use of CCleaner but make sure you back up the registry before making letting ccleaner delete anything.

Hello,

Whenever I am downloading from battle.net (or at least that's the only time it's happened so far) after a random amount of time I will get a BSOD referencing "Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area"

I've attached the log from my computer. If any additional information is required please let me know.

Thank you

A:BSOD When downloading from Battle.net

You're missing reports in the WER section of MSINFO32. If using a disk cleaning program (such as CCleaner), please stop while we're troubleshooting. The reports are needed.

Make sure that Plex Media Server is fully updated. In the past we've seen issues with older versions.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

NOTE: these symptoms were from the previous release of OverDrive. The new release uses the same driver name, but is dated from 4 November 2013.

Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure - Sysnative Forums

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.

Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

The last 2 memory dumps blame NNSStrm.sys - a driver related to your Panda antivirus.
In most cases this is a corruption of the Panda drivers, but it can also be caused by malware.
So, first scan the system with another program (such as MalwareBytes - but ensure that it's fully updated).
Then uninstall the Panda - and be sure to enable Windows Defender and the Windows Firewall so that you're protected
And see if that stops the BSOD's

Please post back and let us know how it works

For about two month i have had BSOD's whenever i download torrents. Sometimes it doesnt happen, while other times it happens frequently when downloading a single torrent. I use uTorrent, and whenever i see a blue screen i can rarely see read what it says since it happens so fast, but at the bottom it says something like "Dumping memory to disk" and theres a percentage countdown.

I have WIndows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
Intel Core i3-2350M CPU @ 2.30 GHz
RAM 4 GB
If I need to give anymore information or if there is already a thread that can help me with this problem please let me know.

Thank You for any help I receive.

McAfee is a frequent cause of BSOD-s, specially in the situation you've described. Hello guys, I'm getting BSOD everytime I download a big file on Utorrent. I just attached the file as in the tutorial. I hope you guys have time to help me. Thank you.

A:BSOD - While Downloading on Utorrent

I would run memtest86 for a start as there seems to be some memory corruption. RAM - Test with Memtest86+

I would run this first as this seems to be the most obvious cause, then if that fails try these suggestions.

The other obvious cause are bad files on a HDD. Please run a disk check

Disk Check

If that finds no errors then I would run a samsung hard drive testing tool to see if the HDD is failing

http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber/...elname=SV0411N
The crash dumps don't contain that much information, most of these dumps can't find the driver responsible. So please run driver verifier as it will help find the cause of the problem.

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

You also seem to have a lot of programs launching on start up. Please visit here to turn them some off.
Startup Programs - Change
I would also download and run malwarebytes seen as you use programs like Utorrent.

Hi,I've noticed that I will get BSOD - PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (related to ntoskrnl.exe nothing very specific) while downloading torrent (randomly) - I've tried many torrent programs - same result. I am 100% sure that It happens on while downloading torrents (e.g. normal downloads in chrome works fine). I've found similiar problems like here http://forum.utorrent.com/topic/45887-transmission-utorrent-bsod/ and after research It looks like wireless driver problem. I've uninstalled previous driver from Device Manager, downloaded and installed Broadcom driver for win 10 64bit. It's been automatically updated to v7.35.295.2 (20.7.2015). Any ideas?btw: I've also checked ram with memtest - no problems
