Q: page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

Gday,

Recently, my pc has been crashing with a BSOD stating: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and page fault in non paged area

I have completed the details of my system spec on my profile and completed the analysis as detailed in the how to post guide. I have already replaced my original 4GB A-RAM Ice Series 1600C9 RAM that I had when the machine was build 2.5 years ago, due to a fault. Currently Using 4GB of Team Group Inc Xtreem Dark DDR3 1600

thinking memory again....

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

Hi

im having a problem loading my normal version of XP pro. Turnd my PC on this morning and recieved the blue screen of death right after the XP logo wen windows loads:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I am running a second version of xp i installed on my other drive, so im guessing its not a hardware problem, and im able to access the drive with my normal version of XP on fine.

Chkdsk returns no errors.

I cannot run xp in safe mode, as the same blue screen appears, and have tried suggestions from this and other forums, but still no luck.

Attempting to repair xp using the cd also returns the same blue screen.

Any help would be apprecaited

thanks

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio with Windows XP SP3 installed. A few weeks ago it was infected with some malware Internet Security 2010. After removing it with several programs (AVG Free, Malwarebytes, Super Anti Spyware portable) the computer ran fine up until a few days ago. Now when the computer boots up it gets to the Windows XP load screen but remains dim for a couple seconds, and goes to the blue screen of death with the message "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA". I have already replaced the RAM but no luck. I cannot boot into safe mode either. I have wrote to Microsoft but the only help they give me is a link to a website which instructs me to work off of my desktop (they obviously didnt read my issue). Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

A:Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

Ok, I also ran memtest86+ last night. It ran 2 complete tests and passed both times with 0 errors. I read in another article that booting from an XP cd and using the recovery console to do a repair install can fix this. I will let you know if it works later tonight.

i've been getting the above error message after my computer kept restarting at seemingly random points, i switched off automatic restart and got the above message.

i've read elsewhere that this is probably a hardware issue, probably RAM, however, the issue only occurs on one of my windows logins

does anyone have any suggestions as to why this would happen? and any suggestion for solutions?

thanks

PS. as a side issue when i try to access the login's "my documents" folder it comes up with an access denied message, is there anyway round this? as there are items in there i would like a copy of, such as photo's etc, that cannot be replaced

A:page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

Getting the rest of the error message would be really helpful. Could you please post it?

Hi all, my desktop has been collecting dust for over a year because of this frustrating problem. First of all, windows does not even start up, it immediately goes to a blue screen saying:

Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

Technical Information:
Stop:0x00000050
(0xA9F4D000, 0x00000000, 0x0805E86DB, 0x00000000

The Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area occurs when I try and start it normally, after the loading screen which says to press f-something for bios.
Then when I try to start the computer in safe mode, a blue screen appears with literally this:

??

How do I repair this problem?

Edit:
After searching around for a bit it seems to be a hardware failure. Will installing new RAM allow my computer to run as it did before, or will I end up reformatting?

A:Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

Hi

No you will not have to reformat if you insert other memory. So if you have other RAM try it first and see what happens. If you do not have other RAM then you can always run Memtest on your existing RAM to see if it is working 100%.

Run Memtest which you can download from here. Download the ZIP file, extract the ISO and write it to CD (Do not just copy the file to the CD). If you need help doing this here is a document that should help you.
Once written to CD, boot your PC with the CD and run Memtest. Allow the test to run through at least 3 passes or until it gives errors. If you have more than 1 memory module run the test on each module separately.

Some time ago I remember running spybot and removed some stuff XP Win Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area I restarted the computer and when it got to the windows startup screen right before the login screen the computer would restart itself I figured then that i would just look into it later and fix it since I have a Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area Win XP laptop that I regularly use now Well now its later and its still doing it I can start up in safe mode and safe mode with command prompt but Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area Win XP not safe mode with networking or normal mode In safe mode i disabled the quot auto restart quot function so i can get the blue screen which i did On the blue screen i get quot Page Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area Win XP fault in nonpaged area quot with quot x quot Any idea on what i can do to fix this Or am I gonna have to reinstall windows I was thinking of reformatting anyways but I would rather not right now Here are some things that i tried already - Started up with quot last know good configuration quot - didn t work - tried to restore settings to a few days before the last time it was running good - didn t work either Thanks in advance nbsp

Hello, Everyone
I'm having a problem with my new rig that I just completed. Hoping someone could look at my dump files to determine what piece of hardware, if any, is having issues before I start swapping parts.
The problem is that I'm getting a Blue screen Error when I actively play computer games, only seems to happen when I play for a few hours. If left idle with game running nothing happens, memtest past several cycles. Cpu Temp doesn't exceed 40C and video card doesn't exceed 60C.

MB: Asus Maximus Formula (bios 0907)
Video Card: MSI NX8800GT (nVIDIA ForceWare 69.02)

Any Info that could be given towards resolving this problem is greatly appreciated,
Thanks a lot

Probably caused by : memory_corruption ( nt!MmCheckCachedPageState+574 )Click to expand...

This could be memory corruption on the disk drive, but it could also be caused by faulty ram.

Start by clearing the paging file, running chkdsk and then do a memory test.

I am getting a page_fault_in_nonpaged_area BSOD message. This computer has been shutting down randomly and I've already checked for bad memory, viri or rootkits. Attached a couple of minidumps. Any help appreciated. I will be doing a disk check with Samsung disk manager in a few minutes.

I have had the problem of it shutting down for a few days now but while editing the registry it got progressively worst. While seaching the registry it would just restart.

Any suggestions?

Is there more to the error...like mentioning a file (maybe a .sys file)?
Also have a look at the event viewer (right click on My Computer --> manage) and see if there is any information of relevance in the application or system logs.

If you recently upgraded to IE7 and all was ok before, try uninstalling it.

Apart from installing SmartFTP and SecondCopy 2000 and coping files from my sick Desktop and having a CD-R in the drive I cant think what else could be causing this error. Happened two boots in a row (until I removed the CD).

hello ,

did you up date the ( direct x )

the file will be abot 25 to 26 mb big

also did you install (silverlight)

virtual memory settings

steps
------------------

start

right click (my computer / then from the drop down menu select (properties) then select (advanced ) then in the (performance box) select (settings) then select (advanced)then select from the (virtual memory box) (change )

here you will have many selections to choose from

the best that i have come to the conclusion is to choose (custome) then in the (maximum size box ) change it to (2042) then select ( set ) then select (okay)

then you will have to select okay as you exit these functions / you may be asked to do a reboot / select okay /yes /restart /or what is needed to aprove this setting

then make sure that all functions have been closed / then reboot

also did you install the memory/ ram into the right slots on your motherboard ?

dose your motherboard have just 2 or 4 slots for memory/ram ?

do you know how to run a scandisk ?

how full is your harddrive ?

get back to us

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

For such errors, faulty ram is suspect #1, but since your computer works fine on another HDD If you encounter any problem with your other windows installation, go to http://www.memtest.org/ and burn their precompiled iso on a CD. Then boot on that CD to test your ram.

Run "chkdsk x: /F /R" on the hard drive that can't boot (replace x: by its volume letter). Report here if any errors were found.

If chkdsk report was clean, try a repair install. You'll need a retail or oem XP CD. Go to the bios to set your cd-rom as first boot device, boot on the XP CD, select option 1 "To setup Windows XP now", then after the licence agreement, press R "to repair your current installation". Be sure to choose the correct disk, so if both disks are the same size, check their identifiers in the bios first.

If any updates were made, you'll have to redo them using windows update after the repair install.

Sorry, I don't think I can use your TSG SysInfo app when my computer is in BSOD mode.

It is a Dell Pentium 4550 running WIn XP Pro. I came to work and restarted it, and got an error that said it had a damaged or corrupted pci.sys file. Booted up with the XP Pro CD-ROM and followed instructions to expand and replace the file in recovery console. Received a msg stating that pci.sy_ could not be expanded.

Tried a better XP Pro CD-ROM and received the same error. Tried to do a repair install and got the following error message:

Hi everyone! I hope I'm posting in the right area. I have a Toshiba Satellite m55-s329 running Windows xp. I just got the BSOD with the message "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area". I had been working with FireFox and Paint.NET when it happened. I don't know what it means, and I'm unclear of what the problem could be when I Googled the message. FireFox has been crashing a lot lately on specific websites but I thought that was perhaps just the browser, not the computer.

I would really appreciate any advice and help!! Thanks!

Is this the first time your laptop gets a bluescreen error? From your description it looks like it. First try rebooting the computer and boot to windows again and start working with the program you were working on. If the bluescreen error happens again, try un-installing that software you are working with.

Another thing you can is to test computer parts and see if there are any faults such as the memory. Download memtest86, put the program onto a CD media, boot the computer to it, and let the program test the laptop memory for any errors.

Also post the laptop computer specs, thanks. Hope this will help you out.

To try and sort the issue I did multiple Memtest86/Windiag and it always came up '0 Errors Detected'

I doubt it is the CPU, but it's possible the memory or the hard drive is not as firmly seated as it could be.

"non paged" area usually means physical ram though.

To eliminate general driver errors, post the minidump following the directions below:

1 > create a new folder on the desktop and call it "dumpcheck" or whatever you like
2 > navigate to c:\windows\minidump and copy the last few minidump files to that folder. *this assumes 'c' is your boot drive, if it is not, subsitute accordingly
3 > close the folder and right click on it and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder.
4 > use the "manage attachments" in the "advanced" reply window to upload that zip file here as an attachment.

This might point us to a non Windows driver causing the error, if one exists for it.

Since almost all bugchecks can be caused by faulty ram, I would recommend you perform memory tests.

I have been suspecting that my hard drive is failing due to the fact that for a while it was emitting very strange clicking/spinning noises (a couple of days) and sometimes I turn on the computer and the hard drive isn't detected, but is this error simply due to the MalwareBytes scan (obviously the mbam- file is related to MalwareBytes) or could it be saying that my hard drive is failing as well?

My Dell PC received the Blue Screen of Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area Death with the message page fault in nonpaged area I had to shut Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area off the Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area computer in order to get out of the blue screen This is the second time this message appeared last time about a month ago When I turned the computer back on the initial Dell black screen came up - then NOTHING I can do an F and an F - and that s about it I tried to go to F to start in safe mode - at first it would not even acknowledge that I pressed F Then I tried Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area pressing F as I exited F and was able to bring up the screen that allows you to choose safe mode However after choosing the safe mode or any of the options there the computer just goes to black and stops working It does not shut off - just does nothing I don t have the specifics of this computer - I am using my laptop to contact you The PC is running XP Any ideas nbsp

Blue screens often are memory related Video,Ram, or source hard drive or cd. If your blue screen happens at only one point at boot up as opposed to randomly then it is likely that windows is corrupt and reinstalling will fix it. If it is more random then it is probably hardware. Open case and check for overheating issues. Fans that are not turning on cpu or video. Heat sink coming off mother board if it is one of those hp machines that uses little clips to hold the heat-sink on and most likely check for blown capacitors the little round things all over on your mb the tops should be flat or dipped in. If they are puffy or rounded or even leaking on the top they are bad. Also try ram one stick at a time in case one is bad windows can load until it gets to the bad spot then gives blue screen error. same type of problem with video but hard to check without spare card.

i ran into this error a few months back and i thought i had fixed the problem but i havn't. it's the blue screen that comes up saying:

stop:0x00000050

0x9a485ce0 ; 0x00000000 ; 0x804ef669 ; 0x00000000

physical memory dump
dump completed

i found a post regarding what i belive to be the same issue back in june sometime. i'm just not sure if the logs n such that were posted there would need to be duplicated. if i can get a place to start that would be great. my comp specs are attached to my profile. if you need more info just let me know an i'll get it for you.

thanks,
ingys

A:page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

i followed along with those steps i said i found. and i tried doing some other things i had read about and it seems to be fixed. for the time being anyways. we'll see if it's a permanent fix or what.

Recently my computer has been giving me regular blue screen errors. They are usually different but I wrote the following down to post on this website:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
STOP: 0x00000050 (0x83250ff4, 0x00000000, 0x80572433, 0x00000000)

This particular error appeared immediately after taking my system (Windows XP SP2) out of standby. Any idea what this means or if it is some kind of virus. I posted a previous thread (http://forums.techguy.org/t325178.html) that briefly talks about my blue screen errors if that helps anyone. Please Help!!!

When I turned on my computer this morning, I got the blue screen of death with the following message:

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

STOP: 0x00000050 (0x80098004, 0x00000001, 0x80515103, 0x00000000)

When I powered down last night, my computer did some automatic updates before shutting off.

I tried booting up in various safe modes but it always goes to the same BSoD so I can do nothing. I've read microsoft's explanation of the problem but can't get to the point where I can do anything.

Its Windows 2000 XP SP3.

This exact same STOP occurred this morning on a friend's machine (Dell 2400, XP sp3). She indicated that an automatic update had requested a restart, and the failure happened at startup.

OMAWGU.sys appears associated with a Belkin Wireless USB adapter.

If the problem is very intermittent you might just live with it -- but I would try reinstalling the drivers for the device -- and do make sure the device itself is firmly plugged into the USB port and that the normal signal strength is good.

Just posting update.
Since the previous post I have used 'Super Anti Spyware Pro' to eliminate over 60 Virus's and 'Trojan Hunter 'to get rid of 2, I can only run these in Safe Mode.
Now my computer only gets BSOD when scanning for Trojans/Viruses but is very slow when running everything else.

I found this Thread which is having similar problems to me (Windows Media not working, and my very fast Internet connection is ranging from painfully slow to not working)
http://www.techsupportforum.com/f100...em-356605.html
As I have many 'svchost.exe' in my 'Process' window.

Hi,
i have been battling with this issue for over 2 months now and I can't find the problem (virus).
My problem is exactly as described in this link http://support.microsoft.com/kb/897079/en-us but when I look for those files they mention I can never find them. If I do a search in the registry for the files system will crash. As well as when I try to run AVG registry cleaner. SO there is definitely a bug in the registry but I can't find it. Can someone please help! Bellow is my hijack file

I recently traded my laptop for someone's desktop. when I got home and was playing a game on it I keep getting these blue screens. According to BlueScreenView its caused by driver ntoskrnl.exe, but also on the blue screen there was an error for dxgmms1. I recently purchased 2 ssd drives and have them in raid 0, windows ran beautifully. Then I started playing DNF and it crashed randomly with those bsod errors. My specs board- ta790gx 128m , 4 gig ocz ddr2 ram, amd phenom 2 x4 940 black edition, radeon 4870 video card, and those 2 solid state drives in raid 0 with a 650 gig hdd out of the array. I'm at a loss here and don't know what else to look for to fix this problem. I'm starting to think it may be associated with my video card because I'll see random horizontal lines when windows first loads up, and during game play. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

This problem has been occurring after I jailbroke my ipod after I used a program not compatible to Vista. Now it shows random BSOD, 050.

A:PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

I would bet driver issue; you may want to uninstall the program. You may have to do that in safe mode though, if normal mode does not work.

I am unable to boot at all, not even enough to get to the system repair functions. When I try to boot up, the system loads files, then goes to the starting windows logo, churns for a few seconds and goes to a blue screen. The following message appears:
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
STOP: 0x00000050(0xFFFFFA88040EB5B8,0x0000000000000001,0XFFFFF8000C09E3CC,0X0000000000000005)

I have even tried this with a clean HD and get the same results. Memory test in bios says 4gb test good. I have cleared cmos, updated bios, tried switching HD SATA connectors, all with blue screen end result, although the codes are not always the same.

Does this look like I need a new MB?

these are the usual causes, but we could use the actual dmp file

Bug check 0x50 usually occurs after the installation of faulty hardware or in the event of failure of installed hardware (usually related to defective RAM, be it main memory, L2 RAM cache, or video RAM).
Another common cause is the installation of a faulty system service.
Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.
You cant use the win diags for memory test you need to use memtest as indicated below.
Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.
Just remember, any time Memtest reports errors, it can be either bad RAM or a bad motherboard slot. Test the sticks individually, and if you find a good one, test it in all slots.

Dear Friends:

I'm having this bluescreen and some others too (like
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL) since the windows update installed service pack 1

Do you know if this update causes this kind of problems? because my hardware seems to be OK.

Here are some results from my computer.

Awhile back I had a similar situation with page fault in non-paged area and the fix for me was to do an sfc /scannow run. Go to start>run and type in sfc /scannow. Note the space between the c and the /. Have your disk handy as the process may ask you for it. In case you're not familiar with sfc, which stands for system file checker, it scans your operating system for integrity and looks for any files that may have become corrupted or that may be missing and it replaces them with clean ones. Best to you...

So yesterday I had the unfortunate experience of the av security suite virus. I used malwarebytes to get rid of it and once it was cleared, I downloaded new versions of adobe reader, flashplayer, and javascript. As I was shutting down my computer, 80 updates were being installed on it.

This morning, I turn on my computer to find a blue screen with "page_fault_in_nonpaged_area" with the technical information of "Stop" 0x00000050 (0xB0FFFFDF, 0X00000000, 0xB0FFFFDF, 0X00000000)

I tried starting the computer in all three types of safe mode, with last good configuration, and normally as well, however I cannot get past this error screen.

Other information: Windows XP, Dell desktop

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

-Jen

Jen, our very best advice to you at this point is to go to our Virus and Malware Removal form and read the 8 Step stcky. There is a very good possibility you are still infected. Follow it step by step and when you have completed the instructions post there with the required logs attached.

Good luck.

Getting this BSOD every so often and sometimes up to four times a day.

Started after installing a new CPU and Kasperksy.

Memory has been tested with MemTest. No errors on two passes.

I did some research and read that KB2670838 can cause some issues with the Intel Graphics Driver and cause this crash. I removed the update and blocked it but still receive the BSOD.

I have uploaded the dump below (071015-19312-01)

This is not my system so I cannot gather the required info using Sysnative. I do not have the computer with me at the moment, but will have it with me later this week.

I have also uploaded another minidump (070915-20670-01) which seems to be similar, but atapi.sys is also mentioned in BlueScreenView.

System specs:

Windows 7 SP1 x64
2GB Corsair DDR3
Intel i5 3340

It seems your issue might be from disk corruption.

Do the following and report back with your finding:

Go to start menu and in search type cmd
Right click cmd and select "run as administrator"
Type chkdsk /r
Let it run and hopefully it will correct your issues.

Go to Kaspersky website and use the uninstall tool to uninstall
Replace with Microsoft Security Essentials
and

My computer keeps shutting down and giving me a blue screen error message either stating PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA or DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. I have no idea what is causing this problem and the technicians at Dell and Microsoft have been absolutely no help. I desperately need to have this problem resolved. I checked the device drivers and there appears to be nothing wrong. The printer and scanner I have do not seem to be causing the problem either. If anyone can help I would be so happy.

I recently got a computer a few months ago. This problem has always been here but it happened so infrequently I decided it was too much of a pain to try and get it fixed. Now the BSOD is happening much more often and its starting to worry me.

Whenever I start a program, start windows, or load something within a program, there is a chance for this BSOD to occur. I have ran 3 tests of memtest86+ and all passed.

My computer is overclocked to 4.5 GHz but I have ran stress tests and they have not failed. I can run some more if necessary.

Any help on the issue would be greatly appreciated.

Please stop the overclock while we're troubleshooting. Feel free to resume the overclock once the system has been stabilized.

Why is Secure Boot turned off?

VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter for VMnet1 ROOT\VMWARE\0000 This device is disabled.
VMware Virtual Ethernet Adapter for VMnet8 ROOT\VMWARE\0001 This device is disabled.

Please enable the devices and then ensure that the drivers are updated. Feel free to disable them again once the updates are done.

Riva Tuner (along with MSI Afterburner and EVGA Precision) are known to cause BSOD's in some Windows systems (it's driver is usually RTCore64.sys). Please un-install them immediately!

A couple of the memory dumps point to hardware. This could be the result of a degraded overclock, or it could be a hardware failure. Please run these free hardware diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Out of 12 memory dumps there were 6 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers)
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

I have noticed these 2 drivers in the stack text. Please uninstall the program(s) that they belong to in order to see if that helps:

vrtaucbl.sys - Driver Reference Table - vrtaucbl.sys
This is a Virtual Audio Cable (WDM) from Ventrilo

SamsungRapidDiskFltr.sys - Driver Reference Table - samsungrapiddiskfltr.sys

A:PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA Help!

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

Your minidump crashes at ScanDrv.SYS. I believe this is the driver for your scanner.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling your scanner and its drivers, also check for any updated drivers.. See if that helps.

This is actually in conjunction with my thread about xp crashing and behaving oddly. Now it won't even boot...

After the initial booting, and the black XP loading screen I get the BSOD:

A:page_fault_in_nonpaged_area - is recovery possible?

Mup.sys will almost invariably be the last file to load during a Windows Safe Mode startup - Vista goes on to list four more. I have seen the occasion specialist graphics driver crop up after mup.sys but you can be assured that isn't the problem here.

A week ago I've installed windows 8 again, yesterday upgraded to windows 8.1.
I installed windows again because I got about 10 BSOD's in a week but was unable to fix the problems.
Unfortunately the last BSOD didn't go away.
I have no idea anymore what to do.

I have checked the drivers as far as I could with my 'search skills'. They seem to be up to date.

We re having a lot of page_fault_in_nonpaged_area Solved: trouble with an Acer Veriton M desktop running Windows XP Home Recently it started rebooting itself Solved: page_fault_in_nonpaged_area over and over upon startup after booting into safe mode we disabled automatic restart and it instead displayed the Blue Screen of Death with an error PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA x We ve run memtest on it overnight for passes with no errors found we also tried replacing the memory sticks but the problem Solved: page_fault_in_nonpaged_area persists We ran scandisk f and found no errors The only new hardware we d added to the computer and even that wasn t very recent was a card to support external eSATA drives We tried removing the card but still get the error We finally gave up and hit the startup key combination to restore the PC to factory conditions thus wiping the hard drive Then reinstalled all the software The PC behaved itself for a couple of weeks but then started displaying the same error once again I m wondering if the computer is getting reinfected with something or if there s a problem with a driver But I m unsure what to do next to diagnose it I ve looked in Event Viewer and seen entries for system event but this just repeats the same info as on the BSOD I see mini-dumps written into c windows minidump but don t know how to interpret them Any suggestions on a next step nbsp

Hello, I had a nasty virumonde infection and am coming in on a clean install of XP Professional SP3. I noticed while playing graphic intensive games such as COD4 and Left 4 Dead I get that BSOD periodically and its seemingly more frequent. I have the latest drivers installed on my hardware.
My specs are...
4x 1gig Crucial ballistix
8800 GTS
3.0ghz amd 64 X2 processor
2x 640 GB WD hard drives

This problem is just starting after the new install.
My mini dumps are attached.

A:BSOD page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

Your errors are random which usually indicates a hardware problem. I would recommend testing your RAM for several hours using Memtest86: http://www.memtest.org/

I noticed your errors on 01/12 were XP SP2, and the errors on 01/14 were XP SP3. Is your SP3 a full reinstall of XP with the drive reformatted? Or was SP2 upgraded to SP3?

Relevancy 36.12%

For a little over a week now, I have been getting BSODs randomly, sometimes several times a day. The error tells me, Your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collecting some error info and then we'll restart for you. If you'd like to know more, you can search online later for this error; Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area (win32k.sys).

I have a Dell Inspiron 15 laptop, running Windows 8.1 - 64 Bit. I have 6.00 GB Ram (5.88 GB usable). I have an Intel Core i.5-4200u CPU @ 1.60 Hz 2.36 Hz. I have taken all of the important updates that Windows said my pc needed. I updated (I thought a couple of drivers via Dell. Nothing has helped.

It happens at all different times, doing all different things. Dump files tell me a different driver almost every time. I don't know what to do. Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,
yesterday I saw BSOD regarding PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA w/ BugCheck 50 when reading some fonts (I think, used WinDbgx64). I have tried to gather enough infomation about my PC using SF Diag., but there were lot of Exception messages (ran elevated). All drivers up to date (if there updates available), MemTest+ O.K., HDD O.K.

Hope, for help . Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I followed the instructions for the dump file. It's attached here.

It's only happened a few times...I thought I had fixed it last night by removing a gigabyte mobo ON/OFF Charge tool but it happened again today.

I'm on a desktop so I am using my keyboard/mouse and the logitech t650 touchpad (T650 Wireless Rechargeable Touchpad for Windows 8 - Logitech) if that makes a difference.
My mobo:
Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3 Intel Z68 LGA1155

I have 4 HDD's if that means anything:
120GB OCZ Agility 3 SSD - Main (OS and specific programs)
Seagate ST2000DM001-9YN164 - 2TB HDD for storage
Seagate ST3500630AS - 500GB storage
Seagate ST3500630AS - 500GB storage

The ram I'm using is:
SAMSUNG 1X4GB, PC3-12800 DDR31600MHZ 240PIN DIMM x2

Windows says all my drivers are up to date, and firmware for HDD's is as well, as far as I know.

Thanks for any help.
Frank

Dear community,

I am experiencing this BSOD with the following error message

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

This BSOD occurs systematically in the following situations only (as far as I know...):

1- After 5 minutes not doing anything (when the screen saver is supposed to activate)
2- When I run the maintenance from Control Panel>System and Security>Action Center

I have run a full memtest86+ (latest version) and I haven't found any errors in memory.

I suspect it comes from my SSD (Samsung SSD 830). Samsung proposes tools for maintenance here. There is no Windows 8 version though!

A rar file containing dmp files is in attachment.

I also work with Ubuntu 12.04 and I don't experience any problem there.

Thank you very much for your help!

Edit - I have added the SF_ file

I have updated the bios, it didn't help

Hello. Since yesterday I'm having frequent BSODs with the error "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" a few minutes after booting. I had done some overclocking on my PC so I reseted everything and cleared the CMOS to see if the problem would be fixed, however I'm still having errors. I can boot with Safe Mode which leads me to think that it's a faulty driver or software, so I used Driver Verifier Manager and it pointed me to a file called "bazisvirtualcd.sys" which is the driver of 'WinCDEmu'. I uninstalled it but the problem persists. I tried downloading the Windows Debugger but it always get stuck at the download. Oh, and if I try to remove any driver through the Device Manager I also get BSODs. And before having a BSOD, according to Task Manager I get a 100% disk usage. Any help please?

Please upload this report(s) as a zip file after following the instructions:

MSINFO32:
Please go to Start and type in "msinfo32.exe" (without the quotes) and press Enter
Save the report as an .nfo file, then zip up the .nfo file and upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Also, save a copy as a .txt file and include it also (it's much more difficult to read, but we have greater success in getting the info from it).

If you're having difficulties with the format, please open an elevated (Run as administrator) Command Prompt and type "msinfo32 /nfo C:\Users\Public\Desktop\TEST.NFO" (without the quotes) and press Enter. Then navigate to the C:\Users\Public\Desktop directory to retrieve the TEST.NFO file. If you have difficulties with making this work, please post back.

The BazisVirtualCDBus.sys driver is still present in the latest memory dump file.
To remove this safely, please do the following:
- ensure that you have a bootable DVD to use to get into Startup Repair (the Win8 installation DVD will do). If you don't have one, then use this procedure to create a System Repair disk: System Repair Disc - Create in Windows 8
- set a System Restore point (to use with the System Repair disk if you can't get back into Windows).

- download this free program: Autoruns for Windows Use it to disable any entries that name the BazisVirtualCDBus.sys driver or the WinCDEmu program (by removing the checkmark in the far left column)
- check for any services related to this driver and/or program (use services.msc) and disable them
- check in Device Manager (use devmgmt.msc) for any devices related to this driver and/or program. Make sure to enable the viewing of hidden devices. Uninstall any that you find. DO NOT rescan or reboot yet!
- search your system for the BazisVirtualCDBus.sys driver and rename it to BazisVirtualCDBus.BAD

Then reboot and see if it's removed.

The following info is just FYI, I've already addressed the issues that I saw in the above paragraphs

I'm getting the BSOD 10-15 seconds after I boot into vista every time. I tried 5 times now. The blue screen mentions something about Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area. I havent installed any new software or hardware as I'm on a laptop. I was running MSE and it was always up to date and running well, I did not see any alerts from MSE regarding a a possible virus. I am able to boot into safe mode with no problems. what can I do to make this go away.

Any help would be very much appreciated
Thank you

So my friends computer just went down. wheneverI try to run it it flashes the blue screen and then restarts. when i boot in safe mode it starts loading the drivers then part of the way through does the same. when i try to boot from Vista CD I get a BSOD that says PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA I have read around and ran memtest and it came out saying that the RAM is fine. I have pulled out each of the RAM sticks and tried to run one by one but to no avail. Ive tried google searching for an answer but all the ones i could find involved being able to actually boot the system in one way or another. Im out of ideas and she cant afford to replace her computer (im pretty sure that she doesnt care if it gets set back to factory settings as long as she can still use it)

A:PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA problem

Hi and welcome.
Did you let Memtest run for about 8 passes?
What is the make and model number of said Pc?

As it is not booting from the Cd - run a test from the hard drive manufacturer.

Hello, good evening. While watching a youtube video yesterday, my pc got a BSOD with the message PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Since then, +/- 5 minutes after everything is booted up, I get this BSOD.

Some help would be really appreciated, if anyone can! Thanks in advance

A:Bsod: Page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

This error is caused by a application that stored something into memory (Page file) and when it goes to retrieve this information it can't find it, gets depressed and BSOD...

Given that you were watching youtube, which was writing to your hdd (streaming) its possible that the NFTS Volume may be starting to become corrupt.
Suggest you make a backup asia - then do some HDD testing and checking. CMD prompt (As admin) and then Run Chkdsk /f /r
lets start with what works and stores the actual page file system first.

Hi okay so i was just running a virtual machine on vmware and running some few other apps including spotify, skype.
Then suddenly a bsod came up on my screen (The error was: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA (Win32k.sys)).
So i restarted. This boot took longer than usual though and the metro start screen took forever to load the icons. Later when i was only on skype and was extracting one archive, the bsod came again.

I attached the minidumps in the attachments

Your BIOS dates from 2011. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

AMD OverDrive (AODDriver2.sys) is either a stand-alone application, or a component of the AMD VISION Engine Control Center. This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

Please un-install all AMD/ATI video stuff from Control Panel...Programs...Un-install a program
Then, download (but DO NOT install) a fresh copy of the ATI drivers from Global Provider of Innovative Graphics, Processors and Media Solutions | AMD (in the upper right corner of the page)
Use this procedure to install the DRIVER ONLY: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure

If the device (AODDriver or AODDriver4.01) remains a problem, open Device Manager, select the "View" item.
Then select "Show hidden devices" and scroll down to the Non-Plug and Play Drivers section.
Locate the AODDriver entry, right click on it and select "Un-install". Reboot for changes to take affect.

Sometimes the driver remains and continues to cause BSOD's. If this is the case for you, post back and we'll give further instructions for safely removing it.

If overclocking, please stop. Remove the overclock and return the system to stock/standard values while we're troubleshooting. Once the system is stable again, feel free to resume the overclocking.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

I have just bought a new MSI Computer running windows 8.1, Just on the cold start, after a few minutes of playing around, I suffered a BSOD saying page fault in nonpaged area.

I try searching solution by myself but failed. I have updated all drivers, all windows update and etc.

Please be understanding as I am new and a noob in computers. Thanks. I have posted the zip file below.Attachment 55415

Lot's of Windows Updates failures in the WER section of the MSINFO32 report. If the problems continue, please post over in the http://www.eightforums.com/windows-updates-activation/ for further expert assistance with this issue.

The WER section of MSINFO32 shows that the Qcamainx64.sys driver is blamed for a couple of the BSOD's. This driver belongs to the Qualcomm Atheros Extensible Wireless LAN device on your system. Please:
- download a fresh copy of the latest, Win8.1 compatible version of this driver from the manufacturer's website
- uninstall the current version of this driver and it's software from your system
- monitor for further BSOD's

Please uninstall the MSI Command utilities - as the multiple versions of the NTIOLib_X64.sys driver are likely causing problems with your system. Also uninstall MSI Live Update, as this driver is also installed there. Check the system by searching for other instances of NTIOLib_X64.sys (don't uninstall them - just let us know what you find and where they're located).

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

I'm getting BSOD above, only when using driver verifier (i do verifier at the times to check drivers) Bluescreenview says it's caused by ntoskrnl.exe.

Thanks!

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

Only 115 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

SSD's were temperamental when they first came out, but their reliability has improved greatly over the last year or two. There are 2 things that MUST be checked on systems with BSOD's and SSD's:

1) That the SSD firmware is the latest available for the SSD. I usually can't see this info in the reports, so I rely on you to check it.
2) That the storage controller drivers on the motherboard are the most recent. They must date from late 2012 or later. This is ALL controllers, not just the one that the SSD is attached to. If involved these should be visible in the memory dump - but it doesn't hurt to check manually.

This device is disabled. Is this deliberate? If so, why?

Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + High Speed Adapter USB\VID_8087&PID_07DA\6&45F9E49&0&5 Este dispositivo est? deshabilitado.

Please enable it and then update it's drivers. Feel free to disable it again after updating the drivers.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

I was on chrome (2-3 tabs) and then ... bsod , my specs:

Laptop: Samsung New Series 7 Chronos

cpu: i7 3635qm
mb: Intel hm76
ram: 12 gb ram 1600 mhz (4gb + 8gb)
gpu: intel hd 4000 + amd radeon 8870m
hdd: liteon 512gb ssd
s.o : windows 8 pro 64 bit

According to whocrashed it is a driver issue (i have tested the hdd/ram, and no problems detected), i had other bosd but it were solved (daemon tools, due to the sptd.sys driver).

Another bsod (PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA), but this time (according to whocrashed) is for atikmpag.sys driver, here is the new dump
