Preferred Solution: Could solve just by uninstalling the new software!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

Hi guys, if I have a pc that I'm pretty sure is infected and also is just not running clean & smooth. What are the odds that a FORMAT and re-install of all software would resolve all those issues?

Does that in fact wipe out all the possible trojans & viruses that may be in there?

I appreciate any help on this one.

jcarissimo

A:Format & Re-install Software - solve all issues?

A reformat should wipe all data, but if you restore any files, they might be infected. It's usually a good idea to scan all files you will restore for viruses and trojans. Note that the slowdown can also occur if there are a number of background processes running.

I installed a plugin Java runtime environment. I have uninstalled it from control pannel, but i am wondering is it totally uninstalled or is there still traces left such as in the registry.

if so how do i remove it totally of my system

A:Uninstalling software

More than likely there are still traces of it in the registry. the only absolutely surefire way would be to reformat and reinstall windows. but that would seem rather extreme to get rid of someothing that shouldnt really cause you any problems.

I've done a unintentional mistake, I've installed Rand McNally street finder 1996 and it works great for me, but here is the problem: It's not listed in add\rem, and it doesn't have the software uninstaller showing anywhere. so how will I uninstall it when I need to. The folder is showing in explorer\programs, will I have to delete this folder in order for me to uninstall it?

I run MS Win 2K Pro with IE 6 SP2.

My ISP offered me the opportunity to speed up my dial-up connection for next to nothing. To speed the connection up I needed to d/l some of their software, which I did and then installed.

Well, the speed-up just didn't happen so I decided to get rid of the software I'd installed.

I now find that I can't get rid of one folder containing a dll file. When I try to delete it directly (using Windows Explorer) I'm told the file cannot be deleted because it's being used by Windows.

How do I get rid of it, short of asking my ISP?

I have recently switched my dsl services. I am having trouble uninstalling all the Verizon software, including IE provided by Verizon. I have gone to add/remove, but there is no Verizon listed, yet when I do a search it is still in my system. I called them and they were of no help, probably because I canceled my service. Also, when I went to Network Connections, highlighted Verizon, it only gives me the option to delete not uninstall. Please help! Thank you!!!

A:Uninstalling ISP software

I think you'll find that, in most cases, whatever software your previous ISP gave you, it simply re-names/re-badges what would otherwise be generic.

I know several ISPs in Australia adopted this practice, but gave up after a while because most people binned the "Network Connection Installation CD" as a waste of time.

For example, as you say, "IE provided by Verizon" would simply be a program that "re-badges" IE - i.e. sticks a logo other than Microsoft's on your IE browser. There are a few web sites that give instructions how to do this with any bmp image file. Google : "internet explorer" change logo.

As far as the network connection goes, I would suggest that the icon labelled with Verizon is simple the generic network logo, otherwise probably called simply "Local Area Connection" on a lot of other computers.

I''m new in this forums. Not sure if this thread is the right section for this. Just lemme know and/or move this topic if it's not.

I just tried reinstalling a program by uninstalling it then installing it. It asked me restart after uninstalling but I didn't and proceeded with installing it. I have yet to have issues with it, but is it okay to do this? Won't I have any problems later with this, like an important file getting deleted as scheduled after I restart or something?

A:Install same software after uninstalling it

When you uninstall a program there can be parts still left in memory or in a cache somewhere, so many programs prompt you to restart, which clears that out. In addition, if a program was uninstalled because it had a problem, if you reinstall without restarting you can still have the same problem.

I don't think I need this anymore but I left it as the last thing to do in case I do actually need it to connect to the internet. It's from an old tiscali broadband connection that has been there since about 2008.

I created a restore point then tried to uninstall it, but it is still there in programs and features.

Any ideas what I can do to get rid of it, or if maybe it is a bad idea?

A:Uninstalling Speedtouch USB software

Hi,
Go to the directory where the software is installed and manually delete the folder.

That may leave unwanted registry details behind so you will need to clean the registry using ccleaner from ccleaner.com or use revo uninstaller from revouninstaller.com

Please backup complete registry before cleaning the registry just in case of problems.

For any clarifications please feel free to contact me.

Thanks and regards

Hi all,
I was helpng a friend the other night, he has an HP computer with a Lexmark all-in-one, fax/scanner/printer. He was rolling along in good order, all of a sudden, he was unable to write a letter on the PC and then send it to the fax. I thought the first thing to try would be to uninstall the Lexmark software, then reinstall. however, the unistall from Control Panel did not complete, it got about halfway and locked up the computer.
any ideas on how to do the uninstall, then reinstall?

A:Problem with Uninstalling Software

Try uninstalling in Safe Mode. If you get a message that you can't uninstall because the Windows Installer Service is not running, then Run: msconfig. Turn off all startups except services. Reboot and try again.

If it got only part way, it may not uninstall. You may have to reinstall (to get the uninstaller back in working order) in order to be able to completely uninstall the driver/program.

Hi

Have you tried uninstalling the unwanted file in safe-mode?

Tap f8 key from start-up to bring up a menu that offers 'boot into safe-mode'.

If not, try this:-

also this - make sure the back-up box is checked and run on the 'clean reg option' - use your delete key to clean the unwanted keys.

A:Problems Uninstalling Software

Hi Alkene, welcome to the forum. Question: When you say you've done a "search" for WMP --- have you done an "Advanced Search" and included all files/folders --- not just those that are indexed? If you haven't try it now --- Make sure you set Advanced Search to search the 'Entire Computer' and click the box that says "Include non-indexed, hidden and system files." Also, up in the toolbar, be sure that 'All' is checked.

When you search, search Windows Media Player and WMP, and also search any other keywords you think might be in any of the files and/or folders.

You can delete any files and folders that are found, right from Advanced Search, but be very careful that you're not deleting needed files or folders that have similar names to WMP, but are actually needed to run your system properly.

I've decided to deep six all my Norton software. I'm running Norton Systemworks 2004 on my desktop and 2005 on my laptop.

I will NOT tamper with my registry. I simply don't have the smarts or the confidence to do that. I know many of you are way smarter than I am and would have no qualms at all doing that. But not me!

So I'm left with only a couple methods, and I'm curious which you all think I should use:

1. Control Panel/Uninstall only
2. #1 plus manually searching my entire hard drive, using R-click Start/Explore and finding and then deleting everything I can find that contains the word Norton or the Word Symantec

or

3. The uninstall routine available from Norton's website.

Thx

It wont appear in Add/Remove Programs if your son uninstalled it
Why do you think you still need to uninstall it?

CC Cleaner will just have found some orphan entries left behind after the uninstall. If your son really DID uninstall it and then you ran CC Cleaner you should be OK to install the newer version

Hi.

I've tried to uninstall a program called "ad annihilator" from my computer--a Dell Inspiron 1525 running Vista Home Premium. I keep getting the message "UNWISE.EXE has stopped working" and thus the program will not uninstall. I'm looking for any troubleshooting suggestions that might help resolve this problem.

A:Problem uninstalling software

I'm having the same problem. The best I could do was disable everything in the 'manage add ons' section under tools. I disabled it then noticed there were several aspects that also needed to be disabled.

After that I tried to uninstall ad annihilator via more than one uninstaller and still no luck.

Edited to Add: I found Revo Uninstaller. It got rid of it completely.

I tried to uninstall the first one and now when i turn my computer on, it says this application
has failed to initialize or it has initialised in a weird way and it has been terminated
but I uninstalled it so I dunno whether or not i should uninstall the 2007 version or what?
What do I do now?

A:Uninstalling Antivirus Software (help)

Does the Internet Security 2007 still start up fine?
It might be that the first one did not completely clean up during the uninstallation, and so there is something that tries to open it, but the files are gone.
If that's the case, you could always try to delete this startup entry by going to Run>msconfig>tools, and look for it. (be careful not to delete anything critical. Try researching each one if you are not sure which one it is) Spybot S&D also has a tool to look a tthe startup items that's a lot easier.

Hello,

This could be the wrong place to post this, but I'll give it a try anyway. Unbelievably I just tried installing a (Pool) game that was most likely originally designed to be played on Windows 95 (from an old disc that my wife still has laying around the house). However, I am running Windows Vista on my laptop, and of course it did not work. I should have known that it wouldn't. Anyway, all I wanted to do afterward was uninstall the program (after it only partially installed it), but it wouldn't let me. Here is the error I received:

The log file ‘C:\Program Files\Intrplay\VPoolW\DeIsL1.isu’ is not valid or the data has been corrupted. Uninstallation will not continue.

Can someone please explain to me exactly how I can finish the uninstall process? That would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

I recently dropped peoplepc contract as wireless became available. Problem is that I can't remove the peoplepc internet security pack and related files. Windows Xp will not uninstall these files. I downloaded another uninstall program which didn't work either but did tell me that these are "aluria, framework.configerationdll: " files, whatever that means.I am late in life getting into computers 84 next birthday. I'm sure there is someone out there that can give me the benefit of their experience. It would be appreciated.

So, I'm trying to clean up some unused programs on a Win 7 machine but after I removed "AnyProtect by CMI limited" then "CWA Reminder by We-Care" but when I went to uninstall the next unused program and no matter what I try to uninstall I get an error saying "Windows Installer Service could not be accessed" and the program cancels the uninstallation process.  I've checked msconfig and it says that Windows Installer is stopped.  I tried doing SFC scan in the CMD prompt and that came back clean and I tried to re-register the program using the command prompt in both locations that its found.  Any other ideas??

A:Problems uninstalling unwanted software

"Windows Installer Service could not be accessed" does not mean your computer is infected. It may be corrupted, you may be missing certain values in the registry, and it could also be a problem with permissions.

Hi

I have tried to uninstall some old Epson 1200 Printing Software from my colleagues PC to enable me to install a new printer.

Whenever I try to uninstall it from Control Panel> Add and Remove Programmes I get a message that says "Setup cannot allocate working memory. Close all applications, exit Windows and try again".

I have also tried installing the new software without removing the old but get the same error message.

I have tried all the above in Safe Mode as well with the same error message.

The new printer works in every respect except that the ink levels do not appear, just blank inkwells. In msconfig there is an entry "Epson Background Monitor" under the startup tab but no Epson Status Monitor appears to be installed anywhere in the system.

Can anyone throw any light on this problem.

Hi. . .

There are 2 things that I can think of off hand -

The Windows Installer Clean-up Utility - kb290301

Also, try CCleaner - click on the link in my signature area, download and install. Go to desktop, RIGHT-click on the CCleaner icon and select Run as Administrator. Click on Tools and a list of installed programs will appear. Try to un-install now.

I recently decided to uninstall my Epson scanner software bundle. The scanner driver went fine, but after I uninstalled the bloatware that comes on the install disc, the DVD drive stopped working. After exhausting all fix possibilities (that I know of) I was forced to hot a restore point to get the DVD working. Problem is the bloatware came right back and I was right back where I started. Anyone have any idea what I can do to get rid of that stuff without destroying the function of my DVD?

I recently purchased a new HP Laptop and am in the process of uninstalling all the HP bloatware. I am fairly familiar with the stuff HP adds but this Energy Star software is a new one. I have a 1yo HP Desktop and it wasn?t there when I got it new a year ago.

I have Googled it and read what is out there but I still can?t lock in on what it actually does. It seems to provide some power configurations from what I have read. I did see one reference that said it might be difficult to remove through Programs & Features and while that doesn?t bother me as I do all software removal with REVO Pro Uninstaller, I know from previous experience that some of the HP add-ons can be difficult to completely uninstall.

Looking for some feedback from anyone that has actually uninstalled this software.

A:Uninstalling HP Energy Star Software

After hunting around more today I still could not find any specific info as to what this software actually does. This morning I even posted the question on the HP Support Forum and have had zero replies and that is the HP Support Forum so I am inclined to think that it doesn't do much if anything.

The uninstall with REVO Pro Uninstaller was too quick for it to be much of a program and I have not seen any changes or a hint of a problem.

Hello, myauchandesu
Welcome to TSF

My name is Billy O'Neal and I will be helping you. (Billy or Bill is fine, if you like.)
Please take note of the following:In the meantime, please refrain from making any changes to your computer.
Also, even if things appear to be running better, there is no guarantee that everything is finished. Please continue to check this forum post in order to ensure we get your system completely clean. We do not want to clean you part-way up, only to have the system re-infect itself. :)
If you do not understand any step(s) provided, please do not hesitate to ask before continuing. I would much rather clarify instructions or explain them differently than have something important broken.
Old topics are closed after 3 days with no reply, and working topics are closed after 5 days. If for any reason you cannot complete instructions within that time, that's fine, just put a post here so that I know you're still here. We get a lot of people who simply leave, and if there is no contact for that amount of time I will have to assume you have "vanished" .

Double click on the icon on your desktop.
Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
Push the button.
Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:OTViewIt.txt <-- Will be opened
Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized

Unzip/extract the file to its own folder. (Click here for information on how to do this if not sure. Win 2000 users click here.)
When you have done this, disconnect from the Internet and close all running programs.
Note: There is a small chance this application may crash your computer so save any work you have open.
Double-click on Gmer.exe to start the program.
If it gives you a warning at program start about rootkit activity and asks if you want to run a scan...click NO.
Click on "Settings", then check the first five settings:System Protection and Tracing
Processes
Save created processes to the log
Drivers
Save loaded drivers to the log

Run Gmer again and click on the Rootkit tab.
Look at the right hand side (under Files) and uncheck all drives with the exception of your C drive.
Make sure all other boxes on the right of the screen are checked, EXCEPT for "Show All".
Important! Please do not select the "Show all" checkbox during the scan.
Click on the "Scan" and wait for the scan to finish.Note: Before scanning, make sure all other running programs are closed and no other actions like a scheduled antivirus scan will occur while this scan completes. Also do not use your computer during the scan.

When completed, click on the Copy button and right-click on your Desktop, choose "New" > Text document. Once the file is created, open it and right-click again and choose Paste or Ctrl+V. Save the file as gmer.txt and copy the information in your next reply.
Note: If you have any problems, try running GMER in Safe Mode

Hi,

I have never uninstalled paid software (that uses a long Activation code) before in order to use it on another computer, but that's what I want to do now.

I need to do it with Photoshop (from my old PC to my new one) and with MS Office (from my old laptop to my new one).

But what I don't understand is: How do these companies know that I have uninstalled it from the first computer?

Could they not just think I'm trying to have the software on several PCs?

(I know you're allowed MS Office on up to 3 devices, but it will be 3 in total when sorted).

I just want to uninstall everything properly, so I don't get in trouble or have any hassle.

Is the process straightforward?

thanks

Welcome,
Have you tried
It usually gets the job done.
Just be careful. PUPs that protect themselves that well may be hiding something worse.
You might consider visiting the Am I Infe3cted forum and let one of the trained volunteers there walk you through the steps necessary to make sure your system is clean.
If REVO doesn't do it, post back and I can ask one of the moderators to move the thread so you get the help you need and they can see what's been done.

1) Registry Cleaners CAUSE problems, they do not cure them. I suggest you run the UNDO function in the registry cleaner and then never use it again.

2) What VIA mother board software did you uninstall? Look in Device Manager. Are there any yellow or red symbols?

A:30s to 1m long hangs when installing or uninstalling software.

Have you tried turning off Avast's realtime protection temporarily and see if that is impeding on things? You also are not having any other anti-spyware/malware software enabled at the same time, are you? This can cause unnecessary instability with your PC as they will fight over each other on trying to scan items that are read or loaded.

For a more thorough investigation, we'll need to isolate the scenario and determine background operations that are occurring while the hang pops up. You can help us with this by doing the following:

1. Grab Process Explorer. It is essentially a very beefed up version of Task Manager. Run it and then sort columns by CPU or CSwitch Delta. Watch it during the hangs and see if there's any unusual behavior that pops up. Also note any spikes in the graphs. You can double click any of the graphs to bring up its own window where you can hover your mouse pointer over spots in the graph and it will give you details on what is causing what in the graphs.

2. If that is doesn't show up much, then close Process Explorer and grab Process Monitor. Don't run it yet. Instead, start closing stuff down until only the bare minimum is running that will be needed to cause the hanging. The less stuff running in foreground or background, the less cluttered the log will be from Process Monitor, and it'll be more streamlined for me to pinpoint cause.

Once that is accomplished, you'll want to start running Process Monitor then click the magnifying glass "Capture" to stop the capturing (since it starts immediately). Click the erase to clear everything, then start up installation or whatnot. You want to start and stop Process Monitor capturing to capture the time when the installation hangs. You may want to snap a capture of when it isn't hanging as well, for a 'control group' to get context for what I should and should not be seeing. After all that's completed, you can save each capture (File > Save As; don't worry about the options). Zip em up (cuz they can get big) and send them our way for analysis.

Understand that these log files can get big quickly. You want to only capture a few seconds per file.

My lexmark wifi printer wasnt working so I uninstalled the software thinking re-installing would solve the problem. Now, whenever I try to re-install the Lexmark software, as soon as it installs the uninstall option (part way through loading the application and I know this as it updates as installing) it starts to uninstall itself. I have just hooked up a Canon MX320 printer. Everything seems to be working fine. Is it a good idea to uninstall the old Canon printer/scanner software? Should I use any special precautions? How do I remove all evidence of the old printer and scanner? Thanks.

A:Solved: Uninstalling old printer/scanner software.

You can leave the old program if you want to be able to use your old printer. If you want to remove it go to control panel, add/remove programs and select the program to remove it. IF you want to make sure there is no evidence of it - go to My computer, local drive, programs, there may be two Canon folders or one with both programs in it. If there is two the old one might be empty or there may be no evidence of it at all. select and del. what you don't want.

hi all
i recently changed my keyboard from a logitech g19 to a roccat isku. i uninstalled it using ccleaner. however the service UMVPFSrv still kept running at startup. i have disabled it from starting up though. also the gamepanel software still shows up as installed in revo uninstaller but it wont uninstall. it does'nt show in control panel though. i cant remember which version it was. i think it was the one b4 the latest but it may have been earlier.
could anyone suggest the best way to remove all traces of logitech software?

any help is much apreciated as always.

A:problems with uninstalling logitech gamepanel software

Take a look in services and see if part of that program is still running; if so disable it. Sometimes this has to be done in Safe Mode. Go to device manger and remove or disable any thing concerning this program. After part of a program has been removed another removal program might not be able to find it anymore even though their are little pieces left over. Revo is a great little removal program. If it can find it it will remove it. As all programs that remove things you must be careful. Tick the wrong thing and it will be gone. Another great little program I use if things still are not gone is Search Everything. Using the search function at the top of the program will find anything in your computer and in most cases can remove it if it is not running. Again be careful what you remove. Once the program is gone disconnect the old mouse and or keyboard and connect the new one and reboot.

Planning to try some freeware backup imaging software, I wonder a couple of things.

I have 11 GB full of a 30 GB hard drive and for storing practice imaging backups, I have a new 32 GB usb flash drive. Is this enough, like would compression be enough to make this type of medium a useful choice? What kind of compression could I expect of the backup image files, if any?

What about uninstalling the backup imaging program if later I decide I do not want it/them anymore? Has anyone had any trouble uninstalling these? I plan to try Macrium Free Reflect, Paragon, and Clonezilla.

In any case, I plan to test or try these on an old laptop with Windows XP sp3, 512MB RAM, 2.0GHz Celeron Processor, (11 GB full of 30 GB hard drive).

Keywords: Uninstall Hawking HWPS12UG Print Server Utilities

Problem
When uninstalling the Hawking Print Server Utilities, you receive the message 'HAWKING_PS-P1 still in use! Please release the port before to complete uninstall Network driver'

Cause
You have a printer defined in your system (in Control Panel, Printers and Faxes) that is using the port named HAWKING_PS-P1, the port to which the Hawking Print Server Utilities' Network Driver is assigned.

Solution
Setting the printer concerned offline does not help.
Deleting the printer concerned does not help.Deleting the port HAWKING_PS-P1 (using the Printers and Faxes window's menu option File, Server Properties, Ports tab) produces the error message 'Selected port cannot be deleted. Operation could not be completed.'
After rebooting the system, deleting the port succeeds.
After deleting the port HAWKING_PS-P1, the uninstall of the Hawking Print Server Utilities succeeds .

Help, I can't install any new software on my system. The install fails with the message 'Can't run 16-bit Windows program' 'One of the library files needed to run E:\setup.exe is damaged.' I have WinNT4.0 with SP6. Is one of the dlls missing or corrupted, and how do I determine which one? Is there a list of
dlls NT should have somewhere? All help greatly appreciated, thank you. Scott D

Hello,

I inherited my desktop PC and I'm trying to "clean" it of programs I don't use. When I remove programs, I seem to have undesired random effects i.e. windows components/utilities disappear, files disappear, programs won't open. So far, I've only uninstalled known programs I definitely don't use. There are also quite a few programs that show up in the "add or remove program" that I don't know what the heck they are.

#1 I would appreciate any input regarding this matter.
#2 Does anyone have suggestions on how to learn more about the function of the programs on one's computer and how they may or may not be necessary? I've had difficultly finding info on this.

Thank you, George

A:Uninstalling Roxio Sonic Software created a nightmare

Welcome to TSG--

Be forewarned:

That said, be forewarned:

Using a registry fix designed for a different version of Windows may also render your machine unbootable, your data unreadable, and your life unbearable.

Enough sunshine.

A simliar fix--but a better explanation including a key export to reverse the process if you don't like the outcome is here at Apple Support (did you really think that other guy worked out that registry fix himself?)

I would read through the instructions--twice. Print them out. Copy from the Apple KB article and paste the new registry values you'll be using into a notepad document and double check them--it'e much easier and more failsafe to copy the values from the notepad file than to type them.

Then try the fix, after you've twice read the warning at the end that you may not be able to use the other cd burning software after fixing iTunes.

Hi,
I need some software for windows 7 (If it isn't already built in Windows) that would prevent anyone (Even administrators) from deleting any files I created (Even if they aren't in my Documents folder) and to prevent uninstalling programs

And something that would prevent a shutdown by any user If I activate it and require a password for instance to unlock it (I know the PC can be turned off in other ways, I just need something like this)

A:Software to prevent shutdown, uninstalling programs and deleting files?

Any attempt to restrict what someone with an admin account can do is doomed to fail. By design all administrators are equal. Any program you can install, any setting you make, can be reversed or circumvented by anyone with an admin account. This is by design.

I have a strange problem - I was uninstalling some HP printer software, and all the files, programmes, shortcuts and folders (except for recycle bin and computer) from my desktop disappeared, the 'All programs' menu went blank (the programmes were still installed though, they were on 'my computer'. There was no crash, the computer restarted OK. I did a system restore.

After system restore the folders, programmes and shortcuts on the desktop re-appeared. The files did not. Also other files have gone (like savegames), FireFox has forgotten all favourites and settings, Microsoft Office needed to be re-registered.

No programmes have disappeared, and IE remembered my homepage. But not saved passwords. Microsoft Word has remembered 'Recent Documents', although when I click on the file it is not actually there.

It's like I'm not logged in with the right user account. But I'm logged in with the one I usually use.

Does anyone have any idea what might have happened, and how I could get the missing files back?Click to expand...

since the restore returned you to that date I suspect the files and folders were created, or modified after that date and not included in that restore point.

There are some 3rd party apps for recovering deleted files ( one is recuva), but short of that I dont know how you would recover them

I have NAV 2004 installed. Two weeks ago, updated it using LiveUpdate, and it has ceased to operate. Purchased NAV 2007, tried to install it, but NAV 2007 directs me to uninstall NAV 2004 using Add/Remove Programs. I have tried to uninstall NAV 2004 using Add/Remove Programs, to no avail.

I am aware that I could use Norton's Removal Tool, but I am assuming that this would also uninstall Norton Partition Magic 8.0 -- and I've lost the installation CD (moved twice since then) for Partition Magic 8.0. Does anyone know of a way to uninstall NAV 2004, but leave Partition Magic 8.0 intact? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Tony

A:Uninstalling NAV 2004 w/o Uninstalling Norton Partion Magic 8.0

I would take a look at the 'tool.' You may be able to select what you want removed. S/N has changed itd recommended removal procedure many times. Below is the link to their currently recommended "tool.' It may or may not be the one you have in mind.

Having made a removal attempt otherwise may compromise the operation of the 'tool.' S/N has another 'tool' that is supposed to overcome encounterted problems with the primary 'too.'
So it goes with S/N!! They really don't want their "stuff" removed.

Hi all,

I want to know that whether the corei3-2100 and motherboard intel DH67VR-B3 support the windows xp,While we upgrading from windows xp to windows 7 which service pack is realy need to install for to work with MS visual studio 2005.

Yes, that board and CPU will more than be enough for Windows XP and Windows 7. If you are upgrading to Windows 7 you will need to do a Custom Install. Note, this will not keep your data, so you should back this up first. Once you have installed Windows 7, install your drivers first (chipset driver first then the others) then go to Windows update and get the relevant updates. Service Pack 1 is the current service pack for windows 7.

If you want a guide for installing Windows 7, we have one here. Just remember to back up your data first.

Ok we have have a small network with some servers, a user is running windows xp and cannot access the one server, it tells her access denied and brings up a log on. Funny thing is they have full security rights and share rights, and if the log on to another computer access is just fine. So it must be the computer right? not nessesarily, i logged onto the computer and it worked just fine for me. so what it seems like is that it is a combination of their log on with the computer.

just a few notes:
she is set up as an admin on her machine
its windows xp
server is windows 2000
nobody else has this problem i am aware of
can access other servers and resources just fine

I've posted this before and got no response. I assume that means no one knows the answer. Having said that, I'd be interested in knowing how people might go about SOLVING the problem if they had it. Here it is...I sometimes have problems opening the fax wizard. When I do, I notice that FAX SERVICES (services.msc) shows FAX SERVICES stopping. I dont know why it should be stopping. My solution is to reboot the computer, then the process will show "STARTED", and all is fine. Even if you dont know the answer, how you might FIND the answer wil be valuable to me. Thanks.

My psu went out recently and took out the motherboard Yep you guessed it emachine Anyway I got a new Biostar p m m board and watt psu I got windows back up xp home and everything was great Since my new board supported sata i got a gig and threw it in Formatted and all good Then I cloned my old ide drive to my new sata All good Here is the trouble i am you this can one? solve having can you solve this one? with both drives in it will only boot from the old one unless i go into the quot boot from quot option before post I can manually select it and it boots fine and everything works But when I do this I cannot see the old ide drive in the my computer folder When I let it boot from the old ide drive i can stil see the new sata drive and everything in it How do I make it boot automatically from my new sata drive and still be able to see my old ide drive so i can reformat it for storage and backup Please help nbsp

A:can you solve this one?

don't clone your ide drive to the new sata model. hook up the sata model only, perform a fresh install windows and all of your drivers. once that's up and running, add the secondary drive, you'll be able to copy over the desired files once that has been installed.

not all BIOS programs are alike, but generally you'll need to select which hard disk is your primary boot device (select which hard drive the system will boot to first), in addition to putting the hard disk up on the boot order.

It should not run from a temp directory. Download and run the HijackThis autoinstall program Please choose the default location of C:\Program Files as the destination.Run the program only from that location from now on. It is essential that you follow these steps or certain important features of the program will not function correctly.Once you have Hijackthis running from this folder, please reboot and post a new hijackthis log as a reply in this thread.

Our office is having issues with our cloud file service (egnyte). We use excel charts often, and we tend to create links between charts - i.e. a cell from file A is tied to a cell from file B. When the files are on my harddrive, the links between files self-update. When they are stored on egnyte's file server, they don't update.

Would a NAS drive solve this problem? If there were one copy of each stored on the NAS that we worked on directly from the NAS, would the charts update themselves?
