It's been a while since I've experienced a BSOD as I'm viewing a video on youtube It would freeze as if the audio was caught watching videos Event Event BSOD Viewer on 41 in youtube, when in mid-stream then BSOD then would restart automatically I go to Event Viewer after windows as loaded and I see Event Kernel-Power in there I had this issue before and we found out that the motherboard was causing the issue I BSOD when watching videos on youtube, Event 41 in Event Viewer have also replaced my video card and added BSOD when watching videos on youtube, Event 41 in Event Viewer additional memory and expanded to gb Before I only have gb Ran sfc scannow with no errors found Going to do chkdsk as well It's strange because this does not happen at all when I'm playing online games or even just standard browsing It's when I play videos on youtube that there would be instances where this would happen There are other times where I can view them without any issue at all Any ideas would be great Also how can I attach the windows DMP file to scale it down as it is just really large Thanks again guys
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Otherwise you should be fine.
I'm currently in the process of trying to run three separate videos on three separate computers which are then connected to three separate projectors (sorry if this seems confusing). I want these videos being projected to all start and run simultaneously, keeping them in sync with one another.
I've read posts about the VLC Media Player, but am not sure if it's what I need since I will be using three separate computers and then connecting to projectors.
If anyone knows of a way that I can do this either with the VLC Media Player or without I'd greatly appreciate the help. Thanks guys, xx
(I'm not quite sure if this should be solved with hardware or software)

almost 99.9% impossible. Whether it's streaming or simple MP4s, each system is pulling independently and every system has a unique client-host latency and will likely get out of sync almost immediately.
In a strange turn of events, Nvidia elected to use Epic Games' media event (instead of its own last night) at the Game Developers Conference to reveal its newest flagship graphics card, the Titan X.
Soo... What are the chances of a 6GB "980Ti" variant? A bit like the 780Ti was to the Titan Black?
Because it would be better for games and a hell of a lot cheaper
If the rumor mill is to be believed, the price is going to be $1,349, Most people who buy this for gaming will have no use of the double precision floating point prowess of the card, and the few that would probably should have spent a couple hundred extra bucks to get a proper Quadro!
On my iphone4 when I tap the pictures folder, there are videos in it too, same videos in my video folder but no pictures in it. Is that normal or not? I've gone thru the settings but see no way to separate them.
As you can see, the first 5 are pictures & the rest are videos, is that normal?
Can someone take a look and tell me if this build is OK.

AMERA CASE PINK GIRLS MICRO ATX
Could you suggest also some memory and a video card although I already have a GeForce 8600GS, will that card be enough?

Minecraft does not need much but it does need a decent CPU (At least a mediocre one) to do a decent FPS on most settings. In my experience changing the settings does not help as much until you get really low on the game (mostly its draw distance that helps) so I would suggest a slightly higher cpu and a low GPU like an R7 250 or and HD 7750.
Try something like this, Im keeping it cheap but you will appreciate minecraft more with a slightly better processor in the end.
Pentium Dual Core 3.0ghz
Corsair 4gb (2x2gb kit) 1600
PowerColor R7 250
XFX 450Watt 80+ Bronze
You can go lower on the GPU if you wish and the PSU selection on that site did not leave me much room but you can go lower. Otherwise the rest is a decent value budget minecraft build which could get a good playable game experience for anyone needing an inexpensive machine.
Hey guys Just got my new Sound Blaster Everything phenomenal Blaster sounds videos Youtube Sound Z: except Z in the mail this morning After some research I found that I Sound Blaster Z: Everything sounds phenomenal except Youtube videos should set Windows Sound settings to Speakers non-full range in order to best utilize the SB drivers I use a pair of Razer Carcharias stereo headset I don Sound Blaster Z: Everything sounds phenomenal except Youtube videos t have speakers Supposedly by doing this and turning on SBX Surround I ll get simulated surround in games and listen to stereo music just fine simply by turning off SBX Surround when doing so Well games sound great with simulated surround FLACs stored on my computer sound great and crisp no matter what Windows is set to Stereo or BUT Youtube videos sound awful In order to get Youtube videos to sound good I need to go into Windows CP and set the sound options to Stereo Speakers Once I do it goes back to sounding great again It should be noted that I only use Youtube for music As unlikely as it may sound YT is an amazing resource for classical music You can find a lot of performances by different conductors orchestras or soloists if a solo piece and Sound Blaster Z: Everything sounds phenomenal except Youtube videos you can create your own playlists It s kind of a big deal to me Everything else about the card is amazing Windows x Latest Firefox Latest Creative drivers Jan as of this post Problem The sound loses clarity it becomes muddy and the bass is way over the top If I crank the volume too high the sound becomes distorted Not pleasant at all This doesn t happen in the slightest with music stored on my hard drive only YT nbsp
The behavior that you explained can be fixed if you set the adobe flash player to 'follow' your soundcard settings. If you're on 64-bit windows, go to:
Open MMS.CFG and add this line:
Worked perfectly for my 5.1 setup. Youtube audio was previously stuck on its own upmix (a.k.a simulated surround) settings and ignored my soundcard settings.
So, Youtube and other sites work, but with certain embedded video players, clicking the fullscreen button does nothing. The video just remains windowed. This has been a problem for awhile now, and I have been unable to find a solution anywhere, as nobody seems to share my issue. I run Firefox, and have an HP Pavilion laptop. I will upload a screenshot of one of the players that does not work.
Also, I tried disabling hardware acceleration and had no luck.
It is not the website lacking the required code for fullscreen, because this happens on any website running one of these players, and they used to work fine for me.
Other than the video being stretched on my 16:10 display, I had no issues w/ the playback on IE10 & FF26. Have you tried updating Flash plugin, if not the latest, to see if that fixes your problem? Do you have the same problem w/ IE?
How serious is this? I'm running on a Dell laptop with a Intel(R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller.
It is saying that I should back up all of my important files because of possible hard drive failure.
PLEASE HELP? I don't know how to fix this because I don't know what it means.
It telling you your hard drive is on its way out. You can try running a check disk and see if that helps. But to be on the safe side you should back up your personal files.
I tried both of Kolavec's fixes. Neither worked.
I've also tried keeping Youtube and Task Manager open to check which process was doing the damage...
It seems that keeping Task Manager open stops the video from lagging (also tested on IE 11.0.2).
This antidote, sadly, doesn't extend to games.
This thread was created by someone with the same problem who seemed to have found a trojan responsible for the slowdown. Any and all advice would be appreciated.
PS. I'm so relieved that there are recent thread on this topic! Thank you (and I share the pain of every sufferer).
Following the advice given in linked thread, I found an executable file "vpecyihvyphx.exe" that started upon leaving the mouse idle and disappeared when I moved the mouse again. I await any guidance/ recommendations you have for me.
I just downloaded and ran MalwareBytes Anti Malware (Free) and it seems to have done the job for now. I'll keep you all posted and I hope this helped some of you.

I got this same problem with videos in youtube and such. One quess was that it was a bitcoin miner. Any one know how to get rid of it? My antivirus can't find it.
Open Task Manager to the performance tab. Leave mouse idle. Does CPU usage rise?
If yes, hit PRocesses tab, and take a screenshot of which process is taking up CPU time.
Anytime I watch online videos, or play games w/ my xbox 360 controller the video lags after about a minute passes and I have to move the mouse to make it stop. It's really annoying when I'm playing video games and it throws me off.
weeks ago I had to email a ton of complaints to broadband supplier sky for giving my aweful speeds they finally answered and gave me great speeds for standard line mb Youtube 4/5 problem, Load/Buffer at minutes Video intervals Wont s Download However a week after I noticed that Youtube Videos will stop loading completely it happens frequently after or minute point sometimes shorter Youtube problem, Wont Load/Buffer Video at 4/5 minutes intervals or longer This is a real annoyance as I use the site for a lot of things my close friend said he had no such problems Virgin Broadband However my other close friend has been experiencing the same problem he is also with Sky Broadband This will happen on ALL Browsers that I have tried I will have no other problem with any other site other than Youtube Me and my friend only have one factor I could possibly think would affect us and that is Kaspersky workstation AV other my other friend on Virgin also has this I am more than willing to blame and complain once again to Sky but I have no actual proof so it s an empty threat for them Any of you care to enlighten Thanks in advance nbsphttp://www.techspot.com/community/topics/youtube-problem-wont-load-buffer-video-at-4-5-minutes-intervals.194302/
Hi,my hard disk is paritioned into 4 drives. In my F drive my videos are stored, when I open my F drive and go to the folder where some particular videos are stored and try to watch it, there is a green loading bar at the address bar and then my pc hangs,I cannot copy, rename etc the file

What is the total size of this hard drive, and its 4 partitions?
I'm trying to block Youtube using the parental controls on my DI-624 router.
But when I do this, it also blocks Google maps... Any ideas why?
I've tried blocking "youtube.com" and "www.youtube.com" and using the Domain Blocker but the same problems come up.
Why would you want to block YouTube? I mean come on there is not much inappropriate content on there. Why not just use your built-in parental controls in windows, Why use a separate program?
This happens to me when im watching a video on all sites exept on youtube(its working fine on youtube).
When I start to watch a video I've got sound fully working and then at random I start to lose it.And to get it back I need to rewind a video a bit or pause/unpause it.This happens to me 5-6 times atleast while watching a video. Can someone tell me what this is and how to fix it cuz I cant really watch videos anymore cuz I when it happens for the first time then I nned to pause/unpause a video every few mins or secs for like 10 times before the sount become fully working again.
What browsers are you using? Can you post your system specs? Also, what is your internet speed? Check here: http://speedtest.net/ and post the link to your results.
Guys.my frnd has a broadband line 360kb=45KB.With this line can easily see the youtube videos in 480p.just gets buffer for 1-3 sec and no buffer next 3-4 minitues.I have 512kb=64KB line where it is almost impossible for me to watch video in 360p.I usually see in 240p.I get this speed constant always.I m amazed to see it.
Do u guys, have any explanation of this problem?
Other people on your home network, or your ISP sucks and isn't providing you with adequate speeds as advertised, or something on your PC is sucking down all bandwidth.
I have a Dell Studio 1737 Windows Vista Home 64 Service Pack 2. All of my drivers are up to date and I have the most recent BIOS.
I get this error message in my event viewer a couple of time an hour:
Event ID: 13
: The embedded controller (EC) did not respond within the specified timeout period. This may indicate that there is an error in the EC hardware or firmware or that the BIOS is accessing the EC incorrectly. You should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS. In some situations, this error may cause the computer to function incorrectly.
Also, when my computer is unplugged from the AC and running on battery power the system lags a lot and after about 15 minutes its turns off without warning.
I feel like this is all connected. Any advice?
This could be caused by a failing hard drive
Hi. Whenever I download any video from youtube or any other website, it has crackling sound. I tried reinstalling various drivers, flash player, different downloading tools but nothing helps. however, when I don't download but just watch video on youtube, sound is ok.
How to fix it?
I have dell n5010 and windows 7 running
Any help would be appreciated
Have you tried transferring the video to other PC and see if it works fine? the program you used to play the video may be the culprit.
I cannot download any youtube videos from my IDM why is this so??
it always gives a notification which I had posted with a screen shot...
Try using jdownloader.org.
When ever I download any video from you-tube from IDM this (shown in picture) appears,
I don't wna change the down-loader as I m an IDM lover but I have tried on different browsers ,and my down-loader is also up to date ...
Although it is illegal to download some videos from youtube, what browser are you using & what video download addon are you using & a link to the video would help.

Easiest approach is to delete the host file
\windows\system32\drivers\etc contains hosts
you need ADMIN privileges
First stop the client by getting a cmd prompt and enter net stop "dns client" (exactly as shown)
now cd to \windows\system32\drivers\etc
then recreate it using echo "" >hosts
(that is two consecutive double-quotes without anything between)
now you should clear the event viewer log containing the error and follow up with
net start "dns client"
I was wondering if some of you might be able to add some facts to a discussion I have been having with some friends They say that it is possible that someone can watch quot you quot through the webcam of your computer There was a CSI one of those cop Webcam: me? someone watching Is shows anyway episode that had the murder watching people like that It was even suggested that employers might do this on company owned computers My friends keep paper over the cam when not in use I say that it is possible but the watcher would have to Webcam: Is someone watching me? access the computer and install a software program to do the job This program would be found in your drive somewhere Is this true Is there some way to verify my system is clean if it is true Is there anyway of doing it remotely without accessing the computer I m guessing that I ll be told this is ridiculous thinking If it is true may I suggest that in your answer you leave out how to do it and focus on protection nbsp
A good hacker can use Remote Desktop to access the device, SO - - disable it until you need a Skype session and disable when done.
I just bought a new laptop MSI g60 with 670m its awsome but when I got on youtube it plays fine on 240p but anything higher and it flickers pink! I installed flash player. Is there something I'm missing?
Did you figure this out?
Audio playback on all online videos has random buzzing stuttering interrupts that last - seconds This happens only on this Toshiba Laptop It is not happening on any of the other PCs in this office I have tried to upload a sample demo of when viewing online Audio bad videos the problem but I was not allowed to do so through this forum s upload button I have it available if someone can explain the process for posting this mp file Also I took the laptop home and it has the same problem there as Audio bad when viewing online videos well In both office and home the internet is a wireless connection with plenty of bandwidth at both offices There is no problem playing videos or audio from this machine whether from the HD or from the office network Just from internet alone added late I forgot to mention that the video portion also stutters at the same time as the audio messes up And if the mouse is being moved while it is stuttering it will freeze with the same frequency as the audio My machine info Model Name Satellite P D S Part Number PSPHJU- J Serial Number OS Version Microsoft Windows Home Premium BIOS Version V CPU AMD Turion tm II Dual-Core Mobile M Physical Memory MB RAM Hard Disk Capacity Byte GB Hard Disk Free Space Capacity Byte GB Video AMD M G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD version Screen Resolution x Pixels Color Quality True Color Bit Sound Conexant Pebble High Definition SmartAudio version Network Realtek RTL SE Wireless LAN n PCI-E NIC version MAC Address A A F EC Atheros AR PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller NDIS version MAC Address E B Modem None Internet Explorer IDE Device TOSHIBA MK GSX ATA Device HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GT F ATA Device FW version ET nbsp
Make sure you have the latest version of Flash installed. Does this occur on all browsers? Do you have any plug-ins running or audio codec's installed? You could even go as far as checking to make sure your video drivers are all up to date.
if the mouse is being moved while it is stuttering, it will freeze with the same frequency as the audio!Click to expand...
When this happens. Does the computer it self freeze or just the video?
Hello, i have had my laptop for a year almost and i have had this problem most of the time. when i try and watch videos(youtube) the screen goes blank for a few seconds then it comes back on telling me that the "desktop driver stopped working and has recoverd". it also says "desktop manager stopped working and was closed." can someone please help?
64 bit operating system
Please tell us more about computer brand and model, opeating system, etc.
You are missing software or drivers, usually free, than will enable proper operation when downloaded and installed from the maker of your computer, or your operating system.
It could also be resources limits such as memory.
I have a sony vaio VGN nw350f that keeps freezing while playing online videos and games. When it freezes the sound will keep playing but at a slower, louder, more annoying speed. Sometimes when I restart or turn on the laptop after shutting it off it will tell me "Operating system not found" or just blink _ at me. Don't know if these symptoms are related.
I tried downloading both intel and sony display drivers where at first I was able to install, now when I try to install any of the drivers it says I don't have the right drivers for the right OS.
OS: windows 7 x64
edit: I have already restored the HDD to factory default.
My speakers are Logitech Surround Speaker Z506 and motherboard gigabyte z68x-ud5-b3.
I havent got a soundcard but I'm wondering why i cant use 5.1? and what sort of plugins/codecs i need for it? it used to work for my old machine using realtek HD and all 5 speakers work but for some reason my newer machine doesnt work, anyone can help or lead me to find a solution?
What media player are you using and does it support Dolby 5.1?
So the problem is on my laptop When I view videos on youtube it s fine untill i switch to fullscreen My mouse working videos well not AMD playing when 6630m DX11 watching games or will be unaccurate and i will have to place it to the left of the button i wish to press there is also a line usually down the right side of the screen asif the video has been pushed to the left and my mouse doesn t know this The same thing happens with games on DX or and The Sims I tried finding solutions on the internet but couldn t find any I found one which was to disable Hardware acceleration in flash and it fixed it but then I downloaded a video in Itunes and bam the problem reoccured I can t download videos drivers because i m unsure which to download and when I went onto the AMD site i got an erorr message saying contact your dealer as it s not compatible My question is simple AMD 6630m not working well when watching videos or playing DX11 games How do i fix it Btw my laptop is a Sony Vaio VPCCA with Intel i and Win Oh and I know there is a switchable graphics feature but that wont do any good as I play quite heavy games Help please nbsp
Try re installing Windows 7 fresh. Most laptops have a restore feature accessed during a start up. Laptops do tend to get bogged down with a lot of unnecessary stuff slowing things down and affecting other programs
i have a green screen when i try to play videos and it just happened randomly, so it cant be becuse ive got the wrong drivers or the os or if i formated because ive had my laptop for about 10 months now and i havent changed anything on it yet its still got all the same stuff that came with it.
any help would be gratefull asap.
You could try updating video drivers.
Most likely it's your video drivers have you installed a new graphics card or anything like that, or how long have you had your graphics card?
I hope I m posting in the correct area for this kind of encompasses a little bit of everything video mainly For the past several days when watching DVD movies on my Dell Dimension I ve noticed intermittent video freeze ups they last for only about to second the freeze up stops the movie starts back up again Now I wouldn t be so concerned about this but when the movie comes back on-line and starts up again the movie skips forward about seconds therefore when the movie is finished playing I think it would be safe to assume that DVD videos freeze, skip? then release, then I ve missed close to minute to maybe even minutes worth of time from the whole film due to this freeze up resume and skip problem I know that it s important in these matters for everyone to know what I m using as far as hardware amp software here goes O S Ubuntu Desktop Version bit Media Player VLC Computer Dell Dimension Hardware Intel Pentium Hyper-Threading Gig CPU Intel xx Mother Board onboard Network Interface adapter Gig s of DDR system RAM Gig internal Maxtor RPM I D E hard drive Nvidia GeForce A DVD videos freeze, then release, then skip? My Dell inspiron e1505 laptop crashes and shows a black screen whenever I watch a video online on fullscreen for a few minutes. It is still running but stops responding completely and I have to force shutdown and restart and redo what I was doing. This problem also happens when I am talking on skype with videos on and also when I am on a website that has lots of animation or requires constant use of adobe flash player. I am guessing this to be a graphic card problem inside the laptop but I am not sure.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!!
How much RAM dose the laptop have?
You may need to reinstall windows OS have you tried this or are you capable of doing this?
Hi, my DVD drive on my laptop plays up while watching movies. During the first half of watching a movie, it runs perfectly fine. But when the movie is within say ten or even maybe 20minutes sometimes towards coming to the end, it starts making some kind of clicking noise and it stops reading the disc. Even after pressing stop, the DVD drive carries on making that noise. Until I press the eject button it finally stops. Is there anyway I can fix this? Or would I have to get a new DVD drive?
It might be cheaper to just order a new optical drive to be honest, it sounds like its probably hardware related by the noise.
Hi guys, new to the forum. My PC specs are on my profile.
So, I have had no problems playing certain .avi video files on my computer, but this evening, for no apparent reason, I tried to play a video and it wouldn't play. Other videos still play, but the ones from my camera do not.
I thought this could have been a codec issue, so I downloaded the latest K-lite Mega codec pack and installed it, but to no avail. An error message came up on Media Player Classic, which can be found here:
Your assistance in this matter is highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Have you tried using Windows Media Player 11?

that Time=xxms should be relatively constant (ie +- just a few ms) and any large
variation tells you that there is a system in the path from you to google that is suffering
Can I burn a video from youtube to a dvd on my computer?
Yes, you can download videos from youtube and then burn it to your dvd.
There are many softwares available to download videos from youtube, alternatively, there may be an extension or plug-in for your browser to serve this purpose.
Make sure you have the latest Adobe Flash, Shockwave, and Sun's Java installed. Also make sure you have installed all the Windows Updates and service packs for your computer's operating system
I've had a problem for a while but it's starting to bug me now. If I'm watching a DVD on my pc, or if I play a game and I move the camera too fast it has the tendency to blur slightly. It is a sort of rainbow effect which is around light areas for instance a torch beam on a wall, the edges, where it fades from bright to dark would have a sort of rainbow effect on it. Additionally when it happens in DVDs it sort of makes it momenterily blurry. I did have some videos to upload but the forum wont let me so hopefully after a few replies I can!
Thank you for viewing and thank you in advance for any info!
Live long and prosper
What are your computers complete system specs? Make, and model would be nice

1. AMD Phenom II X2 560BE at stock speed.
2. 2 x Kingston Value Series DDR3-1333 2GB ram (Ganged)
3. Gigabyte 870A-UD3 motherboard (Bios version: F5a)
4. Gigabyte Radeon HD5750 GDDR5 1GB graphic card
5. WD-5000AADS Caviar Green 500 GB hard drive
6. Creative SB Audigy Value
7. Coolermaster Extreme Power 460W psu
8. Coolermaster Hyper 212+ cooler
9. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
10. ATI Catalyst 11.2
Is my computer dying?
have you tried different player? i.e. vlc or media player classic.
it can also be a codec issue, have you tried other video types?
yes i have tried both PowerDVD Mk I and Mk II and both are filled with bugs, especially when dealing with certain codecs. although i have to admit the video effects are sometimes useful.
Hello guys......I need your help....I have sony vaio vgn-fs515b and after installing windows 7 i was updating its bios......!!!!
Everything was working fine but in between a blue screen came. It said that your system is shutting down due to some problem and at the end it said:
"Dumping physical memory".
When i restarted my laptop all the light were on but nothing came on screen. I don't know what to do.......Please help me........!!!!
I know this happened because of incomplete upgradation of bios but what should i do not?
The motherboards bios is corrupt. You may be able to correct this if you can pull the CMOS battery and reconnect it. Otherwise the motherboard will have to be replaced
So last week i jumped online to watch a clip on the BBC website and as i clicked play my screen froze for about seconds the screen then proceeded to turn black - displaying quot entering power save quot The PC still runs i can hear it and see the power lights on etc I thought it had something to do with the video card but reading through several of you threads i deduced that if this were the case then the issue would apply to all video clips games played I know very little about PC s i may be wrong But this issue does not occur when i play games nor does it occur when i play movies on vlc media player or on sopcast or any other external video application Only when i am in a browser does this happen I have tried reinstalling my browsers i mainly use chrome and firefox as well as explorer I downloaded Safari just to see whether it would somehow avoid the problem But it doesn t I would really appreciate some thoughts Its frustrating not being able to stream watch online Cheers nbsp

Try turning off your power saver mode:
(o/s XP this is mine yours may be similar)
-> right click your mouse button when the mouse is on open desk top space
-> navigate to "Properties"
-> select "Screen Saver"
-> in the lower portion of the window there is the "Monitor Power" section and select "Power" button
-> at the heading "Turn Monitor Off" from the drop down menu select "Never"
-> click "Apply"
-> click "Ok"
Hope this helps
Hi, I'm experiencing a problem with watching videos (YouTube and the like) in full screen mode. My system is three years old with all specs in my profile. Specifically the problem is that when I start a video from YouTube or wherever for that matter, and I click on the box giving me the option to watch the video in full screen mode, the video box will attempt to go to full screen then will revert back to the initial box size. What can be tried to correct this?
Wow with all the techies out here and I can't get anyone to respond to my question?
GEESH! To add to my question, I should say that I'm reasonably sure my OS is clean and clear of all of the virus/spyware nasties.

so heres my network setup...one modem/router (provided by my ISP) , it does not have wifi so i have another wifi router ....an ethernet cable from the isp modem is connected to the WAN port of the wifi router...both DHCPs enabled and all my network clients are connected to the wifi router...everything works flawlessly but my phone, (Sony Ericsson W960)....youtube doesnt work when i use this network setup...but if i make the wifi router act simply as a switch, then youtube works on my phone...any idea why this is happening? i want to use the setup that i have because it gives me greater control over the network.
that's what's happening. I have XP with 4G ram, radeon hd 6850, dual core processer intel.
Really, I can't think of any reason why this should be happening. It really ruins videos to have this happen. Any ideas?

If its the 1gb model, just use a 512, you get like .01% less performance. And you could just update to the latest drivers, maybe Nvidia has since fixed the issues.
I checked the sounds section on the control panel, and the speakers work. However, there's no sound on winamp, windows media player, and no sound on YouTube. Restarted, shutdown and rebooted, installed latest updates, but still no sound. Winamp plays the mp3, but no sound. Using e-machines model # EL 1200 with Vista Home Basic. Sound, when working, gets distorted and there's acoustic shifts in locations, pitch, and depth. Checked with both browsers, and same problem.
I'd try reinstalling the sound drivers but first uninstall them by first looking in Add/Remove Programs and uninstall the audio drivers you'll probably find listed in there
i have recovered some of my deleted videos with a recovery software but most of the filles can't oppen with any of the palyers that i have down load even down load the codec pack but still not working.. need a help on this as these videos are very important !!!!!!!!
A file doesn't get permanently destroyed and eradicated from your memory by simply deleting it from the directory structure. Instead, it is kept safe in a free memory area, stored in case you change your mind and need your file back. What gets deleted is the link pointing towards the file, so if you would compare a file to a book page, deleting the file does not tear the page out of the book, but rather deletes the page's index from the table of contents, represented by the file system here.
Still, your hard disk space is not infinite, so eventually the space your deleted files gets crammed into will fill up and no more "closet" space will be available. What the operating system does in such a case is overwrite the old deleted files with newer deleted files, so there's a certain time limit in which you could recover your lost data. For example, if you deleted a file from your hard drive a year ago, the chances are slim that you'll find it intact
Hello For the past two weeks my laptop has been beeping It doesn t beep when I first turn the computer on Once I m to the desktop it starts Vista Studio Dell 64 continuous a BSOD with beep and 1536 has to beep and it s VERY inconsistent It may beep every five minutes or every minutes Sometimes it beeps once and other times its beeped two Dell Studio 1536 with Vista 64 has a continuous beep and BSOD or three times fast And occasionally I get the BSOD saying something about quot dumping my physical memory quot On top of that when I load the computer I get an error saying that my Catalyst Control Centre is not working I just assumed all these things were connected A few months ago my hard drive died so I installed a new one I haven t had any issues until the issues I listed above all of which start just a few weeks ago Unfortunately my warranty has expired so Dell s support hasn t been much help So does this sound like the hard drive I installed is creating the issues Any advice is very helpful nbsp
Have you checked for crud in your keyboard... any cause for a sticking key, sticking space bar, etc.
Don't see how the hard drive could cause the problem.
Have you looked at all the Dell Beep Codes... They are posted elsewhere on this TechSpot forum... that could give you a starting point.
i am using HPw15e monitor. I ve no trouble in viewing videos online but when i view videos thro VLC, KMP,etc i couldn view it in the default colour. video can be viewed oly in odd colours. tried re installing the players but the result was same. how to fix this problem?
Video playback problems
Can't be sure which audio and video codecs you have installed, but I would think if you go to this site; http://www.mediacodec.org/ and download this codec pack, you probably won't have any trouble with video playback, using VLC, KM & WM players. Hope that does the trick.
no picture while watching any video in any format excluding flash All i get is black while No picture videos watching screen and sound is working however but no picture This is No picture while watching videos a common error yes i have researched on it yes i have downloaded many codecs such as KLITE and windows media codec packs My problem No picture while watching videos was temporarily solved by installing one of these codecs but then after a few weeks it No picture while watching videos seems to have come back From the little information i found it seems to be a quot Graphics overlay problem quot don t know what that is im quite week in this area it seems And im sure its not a codec problem because i uninstalled all my downloaded codecs and within the temporary time period that my video used to work my videos did work without these codec packs so im quite lost here Please help me fix this issue See the thing is i sent my laptop in to hp and when i got it back i had to reinstall everything No there is no potential viruses and i did install almost everything because i have about the same amount of hard disk space as before nbsp
Without doubt its your codecs.
Remove klite codec pack and download vlc media player here :
Its free, easy to use and ive never come across anything it cant play!
Hope this helps.
I have someone who is experiencing random connection problems on the clients such as slow or no connections to mapped network shares. Event id 10009 keeps being recorded in the domain controller logs.
DCOM was unable to communicate with the computer MARK-PC.pmc.local using any of the configured protocols.
It has a range of different computer names within the same events. As far as DCOM is configured it's only setup to use TCP-IP.
Server - Windows Server 2008 Standard FE
System type: 64-bit Operating System

2 Vista Pro
2 Vista Home (should they be using home in an environment like this?)
I have attached the last 256 logs from Application & System as of yesterday evening at around 5pm'ish. I've checked again this morning and looks like the same error has already been re-occurring.
Can anyone give me any suggestion as to where to go with this?
Sorry I forgot to also mention that the server is acting as a DHCP server and that there router has had DHCP disabled. Client PC'S are set to local static IP'S and are not actually set to obtain if this has any variance.

Some youtube videos though quite alot of them I cannot watch in 360/480p quality,HD quality is fine but in original format videos are really 'choppy' and the display flashes green sometimes and is impossible to watch smoothly.
My laptop is brand new and is the Alienware M11X, capable of watching standard videos.
That's them, not you.. Either they're upgrading servers and software or something else. I was on there last night on my dual core over 802.11n in HD mode and it was okay.
So i decided to fire up my brothers computer that he hasnt used for about 2 years and keep running into the bsod with the error about nvlddmkm.sys for my graphics card, the monitor is also blurred as in the colors are distorted and random colors will blurr to the right or the left of where they should be. I can get it to bootup once i go into safe mode and delete the nvlddmkm.sys but when i try and install the latest driver and reboot the same problem and same error pops up. Any advice on how to fix this error? And I was hoping that by installing the newest driver properly that perhaps the blurry screen will clear up, is that just wishfull thinking or could the blurry screen actually be fixed? The computer is running vista 64 with 4g ram and 750w psu. Thanks for the help guys.
as you can imagine nvlddmkm.sys is part of the driver installation so simply deleting it will either cause errors or blue screens. there are a number of things that could be causing this to happen, such as corrupted files, a bad power supply, or even the card itself. the first thing i would advise is to do a clean installation of the display drivers, which requires you to use a piece of software such as Driver Sweeper to completely purge the associated driver files. once this is done, you can restart the computer and proceed to install the drivers normally.
if this fails, you may be looking at corruption in Vista itself or possibly with the motherboard chipset drivers. there's also a slim chance that you need to update DirectX software or frameworks for graphics-based software. if it comes down to having to test the actual hardware, there are limited options. the best way would be to test the card in another computer (preferably one with a different OS) and to test the power supply and RAM if you can. is there any reason in particular that the computer hasn't been used for a couple of years? there's always a possibility that your brother knew to replace something and never did
I d posted in another part of techspot about a problem that it finally turned out was a slowly very slowly dying hard disk that I d had as my D drive for data and documents etc on an XP SP system gig memory Pentium GHz Not wanting to again be so vulnerable to losing my data I thought I d try a RAID configuration I went cheap yes in event viewer errors on copies RAID large and often a mistake I know with an Addonics ADSA PCI controller card that supported software RAID Once I got past the bad documentation - the installation guide started with the driver installation then the next step said quot do this part first if you re configuring RAID RAID errors on large copies and in event viewer quot and described a procedure where several things were to be installed BEFORE the card was - things never really got going smoothly I got RAID running and thought that for sake of ease I d just copy my data roughly gigs from the single drive that had it to the new RAID setup The old drive I had relettered to Q and the new array was D this was done before I configured RAID and formatted the new drives So I went to Q and selected all highlighting all top-level files and folders and their subcontents copied then went to D and pasted Every time I tried this within - minutes I d have a BSOD either a kernel stack or a kernel data inpage error The time it seemed to work best I d moved about gigs in some files So is that a problem with the RAID or with Windows and its copy function Obviously I don t typically copy that much data using copy and paste but I ve done it before without problems Ultimately I used an image of my data and restored that image onto D and all worked well And the computer has been stable now for almost hours since all this happened There ve been two exceptions One was that twice on restart XP has launched chkdsk on C my boot drive not the RAIDed data drive The first time this happened I d had to do a force restart after a lockup on a mass copy attempt so I could have accepted this becuase of the abnormal ending The second time though was after a smooth Windows restart that I did when installing some Windows updates a NET service pack that had been pushed to me after I had to install NET as part of the required RAID utility package that came with the controller card Since I m almost never asked to run chkdsk and when I am I usually understand why this bothers me The other is that I have gotten several event viewer errors related to the new RAID array A few were at a time when I had restarted Windows smooth and normal Windows restart and it went to the login screen fine and stayed that way overnight Others have occurred invisible to me when I m on the PC Here s the most recent one Event Type Error Event Source SiSRaid Event Category None Event ID Date Time PM User N A Computer XP Description The device Device Scsi SiSRaid did not respond within the timeout period For more information see Help and Support Center at http go microsoft com fwlink events asp Data f h c a Is this stuff normal Should I be worried Pre-RAID I d go weeks usually but often months with no errors ever in my event viewer nbsp

Ouch! The technique of copy/paste is more likely to cause issues than anything else, especially on large size transfers.
Empty the Raid target
Select the top-level-folders
drag-n-drop onto the Raid Drive letter

I just bought some Hardware to build a new computer from Scratch.
1. Asus P5E3 Pro Motherboard (DDR3 RAM DIMMS)
2. PSU Coolmax CUL-750B 750W
3. 2x2GB OCZ OCZ3G10664GK R (DDR3 RAM)
4. VGA Card - ASUS ENGTS250/DI/512MD3
5. Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 2.66Ghz 1333
I installed Windows 7 x64bit OEM
I am having problems with BSOD (different ones not the same one every time)
I would like to know if its a compatibility Problem with My RAM and Motherboard or could it be something else. I am very bad with Hardware and I just bought parts that I knew could fit in theory.
BIOS is set to default because I don't know how to configure it (Probably thinking why did I buy parts instead of a built computer)
Could you please help?
Your RAM isn't on Asus' memory QVL (Qualified Vendors List)-but that isn't to say that it's not supported.
Having your power supply checked might be an option if your graphics card seems to run slow or you are getting fluctuating performance.
Because OCZ memory modules lack what are called embedded XMP profiles, your motherboard will have difficulty assigning a setting for them so you will need to do it manually.
Download Memtest86+ from here http://www.memtest.org/#downiso
***under the Memtest86+ v4.00, select "Download -Pre-compiled bootable iso ", save and unzip if downloading the zip file then burn a BOOTABLE CD using ImgBurn or your usual burning software (Nero etc.).- this program runs at BIOS level
Download MemSet here http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/MemSet.shtml
You can also download CPU-Z -it gives a much simplified version of the RAM timings but you can also access chipset and CPU info. download here http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
First order of business would be ascertain whether the RAM modules are not defective.
I presume the RAM in question is OCZ's Gold XTC modules - if they are then you can try to manually select the timings- they should be on a sticker on the side of the RAM, which should be 7-7-7-21 ( CAS (or CL)-tRCD-tRP-tRAS) at 1.5 to 1.6 volts.
IF THIS IS NOT YOUR RAM THEN GO NO FURTHER, If it is then you need to set it in order to test it for stability.
Boot into your BIOS. Select the second tab "A.I.Tweaker"
Set PCIE Frequency to 100 (if not already set)
Set DRAM Frequency to DDR3-1066 (if not already set)
Set DRAM Command rate to 2T (if not already set)
Set DRAM Timing Control to Manual
Note the string of timings following "Pri.Information" on the next line-they should be the same as the settings you are about to input.
Set CAS# Frequency to 7 DRAM Clocks
Set RAS# to CAS# Delay to 7 DRAM Clocks
Set RAS# Precharge to 7 DRAM Clocks
Set RAS# Active time to 21 DRAM Clocks
leave the rest of the timings on Auto for now and move down the page until you get to..
DRAM Voltage ....type in 1.60
Hit F10 to save and exit
**If you can boot into windows then run Memset (NOT the Memtest86+ cd you burned!) and note -or better still get a screen capture of the timings (and include in your next post)-here is an example of one of my old screenshots-take no notice of the values but note that both modules SPD (A and B )values are shown-so expand the window.
** If you cannot load Windows then get back to the BIOS and revert settings by choosing Restore Defaults, F10 to save and exit. The likely cause will be insufficient MCH (Northbridge) voltage.
If Memset shows you the correct values and voltage then you can move on to testing.
Reboot and select CD as your first bootable drive
Insert your Memtest86+ bootable cd into the drive
Hit F10 to save and exit
Memtest86+ will boot automatically once the motherboard POST's. As it's a DOS program it is fairly straightforward -The test actually comprises 8 seperate tests. Once all 8 have run then your RAM has completed a "Pass" -for 4Gb a Pass takes around 20-30 minutes.
Run 7 (minimum) to 12 passes. If the testing shows no errors then stop the test at your leisure.
Return to your BIOS, change the boot order back to Harddrive (I assume)
Take the CD out of the drive
F10 to save and exit -congratulations your RAM is stable. The next step would be to stress test the CPU/RAM fo test for stability- but one thing at a time
If the test throws up errors then note the Number of the test and the error code- the test will continue if the errors are not to great. If the testing serquence stops then stop the test, reboot, change boot order, remove cd and F10.
The RAM could fail from either physical damage it has suffered or the timing (and sub-timings) are unstable. We can look into that if the need arises.
Im running vista bit Since earlier this morning megavideo and some other flash sites videos like zshare videos arent working Also pictures on some sites like failblog org wont load but the videos on the site are there The only thing I can think that may have done something is game booster Its a program that disables background running progs in order to free up ram to play games I ran that this morning and forgot to switch it back to normal mode Since that I have done a system restore uninstalled and reinstalled my flash players shockwave and adobe Both say theyre installed and working Ive tried running game booster and turning it into gaming mode then back to normal mode hoping it would restart something it stopped but none of these worked Other flash videos are working like youtube and the flash player is saying its installed plays the video as well on adobes site I cant work out whats happened why or how to fix it Any help appreciated like working zshare Megavideo, videos, have and pics failblog on stopped sites Ive uninstalled all flash players and reinstalled them They are all working so they tell me Ive tried a system restore Ive reset my IP Internet explorer has the same problems as my firefox Ive tried re-doing the revert to normal mode with game booster Pictures are Megavideo, zshare videos, and pics on sites like failblog have stopped working also affected on certain websites like failblog I cant even load megavideo s home page Also when checking plugins add ons Megavideo, zshare videos, and pics on sites like failblog have stopped working in firefox it says that my shockwave and shockwave director need updating even though theyre the most recent version When I try and update them it just downloads a plug in that seems to do nothing Basicaly my question is what software do those programs sites use Megavideo zshare and the pictures on failblog are all affected so its obviously the same piece of software thats used for all those sites progs thats not working and either needs reinstalling or turning back on Thanks for your time nbsp
Any progress with this? Virus or malware infection?
So there s a possibility that I m posting in the wrong section but I m sure this is a watching graphics video, a lag 1080p After massive graphics card After watching a 1080p video, massive graphics lag problem I m using a dell studio running windows with an i processor and GB RAM with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD graphics card The problem is that after viewing a p clip that is about minutes long in VLC Media Player things go very wrong Sometimes the whole monitor goes black and the audio lags or just comes to a complete halt Other times the video plays out but is very laggy with out of sync audio After closing VLC the lag persists Task manager tells me that the CPU is only running at there aren t a lot of programs running simultaneously and yet anything I do will present itself in a jumpy fashion i e if I open a program it will open promptly but with stutter across the screen as it enlarges itself I definitely have the latest driver software and restarting seems to solve the problem but I really want to be able to watch HD videos without this problem Thanks in advance for your time EDIT Tried watching the video again and it seemed to work ok except that I noticed by the end of it my pointer was massive At least times as big as normal Rebooting Hibernating Sleep fixes this EDIT Tried using windows media player and it worked Apart from the big pointer which still occurred What I don t understand is why my computer continues to lag after I ve closed VLC Any questions Comments nbsp
VLC Media Player might not be compatible with your computer. Are you really using on-board video? If so, that's the problem. You could use a good quality add-on graphics card
When I play a video online its distorted. Sometimes it looks like pigments are scrambled or part of it will be black for a second or the whole picture will turn one color mostly green. What should I do? I have already uninstalled flash player and reinstalled updated version. Windows vista home basic. Internet Explorer 7
What are your computers specs? What operating system are you running?
Hi, something seems to be wrong with my windows media player. I cant watch videos that I downloaded or have but can watch a DVD movie. Every time I try to watch a video that I downloaded or have, no video appears but has sounds. Whenever i try watching a video, a message in the buttom left appears "error downloading codec". I tried watching a DVD movie and it worked. I don't know why only the sounds comes out but not the video. Please help me. Thanks.
You don't have the right codecs. I suggest just downloading VLC. It's better than WMP for video playback, even with the right codecs.
Every time I try watching ant kind of you tube video it keeps stopping and starting. I have to download it just to view it. That is the only way I can view it. Can this problem be fixed?
Try IE Reset:
Then restart Internet Explorer

What Windows CD version are you using to boot with and did you set the CD as the first boot device? I could be wrong but maybe you aren't booting correctly.
Hey everyone I m back with another problem This time it s in my personal laptop So about weeks ago a friend of mine installed GB RAM into my nv4_disp Help BSOD infinite loop with laptop After a couple of days with the RAM I turned on my laptop and find my screen flashing red Parts of the screen were pixeled red After backing up my files through safe mode I brought the computer to the college tech support They figured Help with nv4_disp infinite loop BSOD it s a driver problem so they updated my video driver Into what I cannot remember The problem randomly appeared and that forced me to format and start fresh So a new problem arose As the title suggested I randomly get the nv disp infinite loop BSOD Sometimes Help with nv4_disp infinite loop BSOD my screen would just freeze and not do anything Sometimes the screen flashes Help with nv4_disp infinite loop BSOD but I can still move my mouse pointer And it hasn t really been too friendly when I open the only two games I have in my computer in an attempt to see how bad the damage is I looked up some solutions online which included uninstalling and reinstalling drivers After a few attempts of that with the update the NVIDIA website provided I rolled back my driver into driver version So here are some things about my computer Model Dell Latitude D System Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack Computer Intel R Core TM Duo CPU t GHz GHz with GB of RAM Driver Details Currently NVIDIA Quadro NVS M Driver Version Personally I wouldn t mind this problem But I have a final project for a class where I need a video presentation and I am using Pinnacle Studio I m not sure if it s just me being retarded and missing a driver to install but I m pretty sure I reinstalled everything after formatting my computer Any help is greatly appreciated If any more information is needed please tell me so I can attempt to provide you with correct information not completely tech savvy for a computer engineering major ironically nbsp
First of all you have to make sure that the 667 memory and the nvidia driver is compatible with your Dell laptops model, and you should use the Nvidia video and chipset driver from Dell and not from the nvidia site. You can up the shared video memory to 256MB maximum
I have here a Dell Dimension which I have upgraded the CPU in it to a GHz Pentium as opposed to the Ghz Celeron It runs much better actually boots faster than any computer I ve ever having 720p Computer videos trouble decoding had and overall functions beautifully however I still have one problem with it It lags when playing p or higher resolution video files It doesn t seem to matter what kind of compression or container they are it just lags The sound continues ahead of the video and the video is basically in slow Computer having trouble decoding 720p videos motion My question is What other than buying another computer or upgrading the processor and or motherboard could I do to help the situation A friend of mine suggested putting in a video card as that may help with the video decoding and playback I know that when I put in a really shitty PCI video card it made it worse so therefore if I do the opposite put in a really good PCI video card it may help or so I d think Before I go buying the most expensive and fancy PCI card I can find I wanted to know what other people think and if anyone has any more detailed information nbsp
Video cards do improve video quality through hardware accelaration, Though i would try to find and borrow a decent one before you invest in your own, just to be sure you get the results you are after.
For an idea of what pci cards are best.
Hope this helps
gigabyte X48TDQ6 mobo
2X2gb ocz ddr3 1600mhz
i have run my system for about a year with q6600 cpu with no problems with this mobo, memory, graphic card.
yesterday i have changed my cpu to qx9650 with the intel stock cpu fan. when i play games after 20 minutes i get bsod and the system reboot even in regular use on desktop.
the cpu temp in idele is about 27 deg. (not seems beacuse overhit)
on bios everythind on standart/auto (no o.c).
i upgrade my bios revision.
the bsod is "not less or equel" something:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.0.6001.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1037
Additional information about the problem:
OS Version: 6_0_6001
Service Pack: 1_0
thanx 4 any help.
look on the box the CPU came in, or run CPU-z and see what the revision is. If it is an E0 you need BIOS F8D beta to run that CPU. At least that is what Gigabyte is showing for that CPU on the GA-X48-DQ6 mobo. I couldn't find a GA-X48-TDQ6 mobo listed on their site. Typo or wrong region possibly? Also check windows updates. There may be something for that CPU, or maybe you need more than SP1 on your OS? Your BSOD screen by the way is referencing a failure to read paged memory.

It appears that you have a nice system, if you can get it back to normal.
We have to suspect other hardware, since two hard drives have similar symptoms... but you may have copied evil stuff from the one drive to the other. How did you transfer files? Or an infestation.
What did you use to scan your system for virus and spyware infestations?
Have you carefully checked your cables... or even tried replacing them temporarily?
Examine all sockets for dirt and debris, and clean your system thoroughly but carefully.
You may need to rule out some things that do not seem part of the problem... as it may be a long and slow process to figger out where the problem is... I would start, if the drive will work well enough, by running MemTest86 for four hours or seven passes, which ever is longer... or removing half the memory to test the other half, then switching.
We always suspect the cables first. They can fail and look good.
Any defective hardware part can cause problems elsewhere if the conditions are right... so I would begin by making a check list, then trading out everything on the list... video card, modem even if not used, ethernet connection or software, .
I would also try another drive and cable... any other drive, even using the first drive, fully reformatted and reinstalled with Windows and basic software....
Windows will not normally cause these of problem, but if you have scratches or smudges that would make it difficult to read, then you could theoretically introduce errors... unlikely though that is.
You could have an optical drive error that is not seeing the software properly.
But it is also possible that your Asus board, good as it is, has a defect.

I don't know what happened, but videos decided to randomly stop playing online. I first noticed it on youtube but it happens on other websites as well. The website will all look totally normal but where the video is/is supposed to be there's just a black box. I've made sure my flash player is up to date and even reinstalled it just to be sure. I've also messed with internet security and firewall settings but nothing has worked. Anybody know how i can fix this?
What operating system are you running? Have you kept up with all the Windows Updates?
Just got a gift from a friend. A Panasonic CF48E. Put a new HD in it, Installed WIN XP pro, and was happy... NO sound.. Looking at the Control panell, looks like the Multimedia Audio Controller has a ( ! ) in the yellow circle. Downloaded what seems to be the correct drivers for it, ir starts to install but mid installation I get the Blue SOD, that says portcls.sys, and it shuts down, and restarts the laptop real fast ( no time to read what the blue screen says..
Anyone see that problem before?
Any solutions? I read all kinds of suggestions, but none work.
i was redirected here from the BSOD help as it may be a hardware problem I have a Gateway laptop running Windows XP media center edition with SP and whenever i try logging in it either boots me before loading up or within the first - seconds i have tried running in the last good configuration and safe mode but they dont work it just shuts off without a blue screen the screen has had trouble in the past and doesnt work well now so it is plugged into a computer monitor could that be the reason its having problems the thing is it has used this monitor for a good months at least before having problems I lent the laptop to my girlfriend so she could have a computer in her room with internet then it started doing this there is nothing of major importance on this computer so i really just wanna do a full system restore or repair but i dont know how The system wont stay on long enough and i dont have my cd key either i did just have one successful log in with an error report i am doing the list of things in and log hardly can BSOD microsoft says to do currently looking for updated drivers EDIT BSOD d then got back in and performed a BSOD and can hardly log in quick scan found nothing doing a full scan in hopes it finds something helpful nbsp
Memory or failing hard drive... You may have to take it in for service. What kind of scan, memory?
Recently i suffer from BSOD on a daily basis. I can't put any finger on the reason, cause i see no rule. I suspect Outlook 2003 or AVG.
I have attached the the dump file. I dont know how to read it.
What hardware or software did you install just prior to getting bsods?
Your current minidump shows "Stop 0xBE"
Which indicates that a driver attempted to write to read-only memory.
? A Stop 0xBE message might occur after installing a faulty device driver, system service, or firmware. If a Stop message lists a driver by name, disable, remove, or roll back the driver to correct the problem. If disabling or removing drivers resolves the issues, contact the manufacturer about a possible update. Using updated software is especially important for multimedia applications, antivirus scanners, DVD playback, and CD mastering tools.Click to expand...
Since you suspect AVG and since others have reported issues with AVG8, you may wish to try (Free products, available here)
Avira ... http://www.techspot.com/downloads/41-antivir-personal-edition.html
or Avast ... http://www.techspot.com/downloads/223-avast-home-edition.html
Because of reported security issues, I do not use Outlook, so others will need to assist you there.
Hello i am having a problem with this device that i got via christmas day. The device plays all my selected music downloads with no problems.....and videos. Well it allows me to download a selected video to it, but when i attempt to play the video it says "file format error". What do i do? Should i try to format the device and if possible how do i do so? Also it supports 4GB of memory
hi i'm havingthis exact same problem! i got this for my birthday and i cant find how to get it to work
Hello... I'm new here.
I was using my laptop and there were updates. So I installed them before shutting down... but after I checked up on it again, there was a BSOD. The error was Stop Error 0×00000050: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA. Somebody help me please. My laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A215-S4747.
Re: 0x50 errors
Defective memory (including main memory, L2 RAM cache, video RAM) or incompatible software (including remote control and antivirus software) might cause Stop 0x50 messages.
? If you added new hardware recently, remove and replace the hardware to determine if it is causing or contributing to the problem. Run diagnostics software supplied by the hardware manufacturer to determine if the component has failed.
? Stop 0x50 messages can also occur after installing faulty drivers or system services. If the file name is listed, you need to disable, remove, or roll back that driver. If not, disable the recently installed service or application to determine if this resolves the error. If this does not resolve the problem, contact the hardware manufacturer for updates. Using updated drivers and software is especially important for network interface cards, video adapters, backup programs, multimedia applications, antivirus scanners, and CD mastering tools. If an updated driver is not available, attempt to use a driver from a similar device in the same family. For example, if printing to a Model 1100C printer causes Stop 0x50 errors, using a printer driver meant for a Model 1100A or Model 1000 might temporarily resolve the problem.Click to expand...
Can you boot to safe mode? (f8 after power up - and after bios password if enabled).
From safe mode, right click on my computer, click on properties, click on "hardware" tab, click on "device manager" button.
Check for yellow or red flags... roll back drivers these drivers if possible.
I would like for you to check for memory errors as well...
Use Memtest... See this tutorial... http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic62524.html
Since these errors can have many causes...
I would like for you also to go to the Virus and Malware board, and follow carefully the 8 steps.
See here http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html
Until we can get a stable system for you, you may need to download the tools to another computer, and then burn them to a cd for use on the Toshiba.
When I try to use winrar to unrar a compressed file or something like that, it appears de blue screen and I hear the sound of the hard disk powering down I think (it's the same noise that the hard drive makes when I turn off my computer)
This problem started few days ago when I installed Jdownloader but I don't thing that the problem is related to it.
History: a year ago I got 2 hard drives in raid 1 mode and they failed but the disks are ok. I think that failed the motherboard's raid controller or disk controller. I've got the same mother with a diferent hard disk for a year ago.
Sounds like a memory problem... Test the system memory
i am having a little bit of an inconvenience with this pesky bsod error message it reads hardware malfunction call your hardware vendor for support NMI Parity check memory parity error the system has halted i have been skimming through forum threads from around of people having a similar problem but they all had dells and it occurred mostly in laptops i have got a heavily modded hp d small form factor desktop in fact the malfunction error hardware Bsod only thing i have that has anything to do with dell is my two monitors and a little CAT wired network Bsod hardware malfunction error pci adapter i installed a gig of ddr Kingston ram a agp video card and that dell net adapter all at the same time the problem started happening like a couple of weeks after that the old thread that i found is pages long and i haven t had time to read the whole thing i think it is that netcard but i dont want to open up my case take it out and the problem still occur so i wanted to know if anyone knew whether it is or isn t the problem b c like i said i upgraded other stuff at the same time thanks zach nbsp
The parity check error is a likely pointer to defective (or poorly seated) memory,
Please run memtest... See this tutorial... http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic62524.html
Note that memtest should be allowed to run a minimum of 7 full passes. Each pass has eight tests of inclreasing complexity. This means that it will run a while. Allowing it to run overnight should give it enough time. Since it runs from its own environment, windows bsod will not be a problem. Any errors means you have one or more defective memory modules. If you find errors, you may wish to run Memtest on each module. If you bought the memory as a kit, you will likely need to RMA both modules.
Please also include some of your minidumps as attachments to your next post.
The name and model of your MB would also help. Some MB's are notoriously touchy about the ram that you use. If your Kingston ram is not on the MB maker's list for your board, this may be the problem.
I've been playing EVE online on my HP510 fine for several months when all of a sudden I am getting a blue screen with reference to Page in non paged area - further down the screen it mentions ialmdev5.dll. The machine uses a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS 910GML Express Chipset for it's graphics and has worked fine the last couple of months.
I have downloaded the latest drivers from the HP site site, and have run 3x different memory test programmes - none of which found an error since I understand there can be RAM issues which cause this.
I am a little confused what could suddenly stp the thig from working - there was no patch and I have not installed new software,
I'm at a bit of a loss what to do now - any ideas or help?
ialmdev5.dll is an intel chipset driver. Go to HP's support site under your computers model and download and install the Intel Chipset drivers

No idea what that is. Is the CPU fan running and can you hear the hard drive spinning? Remove all peripherals inside the computer (if it's not a laptop) then put them in one at a time, turning off the computer before installing the next peripheral, then on again etc. If the computer works without one of the devices then you found the culprit. Do the same with the RAM if you have more than one module. Could be a number of things. Also test the power supply with a multimeter or power supply tester. Let us know?!

1. Go to www.memtest.org and download the latest ISO version. It is free and perfectly safe.
2. Burn to a CD.
3. Place CD in your drive and reboot with CD in drive. (You might have to place your drive as first bootable in your BIOS) The test will take over.
4. Let it run for a LONG time. The rule is a minimum of 7 Passes. There are 8 individual tests per Pass. Many people will start this test before going to bed and check it the next day.
5. If you have errors you have corrupted memory and it needs to be replaced.
6. Also, with errors you need to run this test per stick of RAM. Take out one and run the test. Then take that one out and put the other in and run the test. If you start getting errors before 7 Passes you know that stick is corrupted and you don?t need to run the test any further on that stick.
YouTube will not accept any of my uploads. Files (6.3 meg in size) have been tried in MP3, MP4, WMA, QuickTime and Flash SWF formats. All get quickly followed with the with the message 'Failed (could not convert file)'. Uploading computer: iMac OS 10.4. Similar lack of success with PC machine. Movie files from my digital camera however DO get accepted!
What kind of Internet Service Provider are you using? Cable? DSL? Are your running behind a router? What are your complete system specs?
