Preferred Solution: How to fix the error codes 80072EFE and 800736B3

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: How to fix the error codes 80072EFE and 800736B3

The 80072EFE error is simply a bad internet connection - although that can be due either to physical problems or software interferences by malware, firewalls, etc.

The 800736B3 error is somewhat different.

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for anumber of reasons)

Please also post the C:\Windows\windowsudpate.log file

The error codes all relate to registry problems.

I had some error failed updates and in the instructions for those errors one of the steps had me go in and delete all the updates. this was in windows and DataStore?
then when the first update overnite occurred I got this error and it talks about failed server connection and to try again in 15 minutes.
have I deleted too much? how can I get this going again. I had an article about going into Run etc. and it talked about searching for a proxy server?
can anyone help me get my updates going again or restore them files?

A:Solved: error 80072efe

Well see this was my goof up. I was talking to one of my buddy, use to work ms, And he was telling me that is sounded like a DNS problem. After checking something did notice that in my network properties, that the DNS was setup for a manual input. there was no entry in there. so it couldnt resolve the name. I change that back to so it would automaticlly get the dns address. Once i did that everything was just dandy. It also speed up my internet. Geeze i dont know why. Anyway thanks everyone

A:windows update error 80072EFE

The 0x80072EFE error is: ERROR INTERNET CONNECTION ABORTED - The connection with the server has been terminated.

Please check your cables and connection and try again. I would suggest a time when not that many people are using the internet (most often that's very early in the morning).

Then, try running it in Safe Mode with Networking (I'm not sure if this will work).

Also, try one of these free, online scans to make sure that your current protection hasn't been corrupted: http://www.carrona.org/malware.html

If you find that you're infected, please post over in the malware forums (See the pinned topic on how to post first): http://www.techsupportforum.com/f50/

If not infected, I've posted some troubleshooting steps here - http://www.carrona.org/winupdat.html

One of things shown is the firewall is blocking access.

Probably not the problem but to be sure try turning your firewall off temporarily then try checking for updates.
At least we will know one way or the other on that scenario.

Once that probably won't work I'll post some other ideas.
I'll get some screen shots together and post them for you.

Windows Update - Reset

This is a tutorial on how to reset Windows Update. Should reset to default settings.
Try this first or below first.
All the updates shown in the middle picture below will no longer appear in the list.
They are still on the computer but won't show here after using the reset.
New updates will be added here in the future.
.................................................................................................
If the above doesn't work then open Win Update page.
Click "View Update history" yellow marked in left picture below.
Middle picture click "Troubleshoot."
Right picture Click blue circled "Is there an easy way..."
Then click troubleshooter.

This opens a repair wizard.
Then follow prompts.
There are different listings to try so you may need to try this more than once to select different options.
Several people have used this with good results so it can work but not always.
Best I have for now.
Hope that helps and fixes things.

Hi All,

i have an error when running windows update, code 80072efe. have beeing looking at this a couple of days now, googled and checked everything on microsoft and nothing works.

im desperatly trying to install a printer (hp deskjet 5940)but cant download any drivers for it as hp says its part of windows 7 and to run updates to obtain the driver - i cant!

windows update fails with the code mentioned, i've tried everything, running the fixit from microsoft, running malware bytes and avira to check for viruses, tried rootkit inspectors, running the update agent, nothing works. i cant even access the windows update site from my pc.

the code seems to refer to an internet connection failure - i can access EVERY other site perfectly fine except any updates!!!! getting frustrated now - any suggestions?

This is in conjunction with Vista, however, I'm betting since it's internet services related it will be of benefit to you. Windows Update error code: 80072EFE - Vista Forums

A:Windows update error 80072EFE

Hello, and welcome to the Seven Forums!

The fact that one computer works, and the other doesn't, doesn't actually mean that it is not related to the internet connection. It just means that the error is probably not in the router. However, you have tried all of the common solutions already. What firewall are you using? Do you have two firewalls (you shouldn't). If nothing at all helps, try everything below, if nobody else has any ideas. I know there is a lot there, but you have already done all of the normal stuff:

EDIT: See bottom first

Quote:
Please re-try Windows Update. This puts the error at the end of all the logs, and makes my job easier.

Please run the following tool in AGGRESSIVE mode: How do I reset Windows Update components?

Don't run it manually, that is just a waste of time. Aggressive mode will do what we need it to.

Now run this tool: Repair & Fix Windows Updates with Fix WU Utility | The Windows Club

Restart your computer and re-test Windows Update. If it works, do not continue.

If this has not solved your issue, I need to take some diagnostic logs to do some manual analysis.

NOTE to users reading this with the same problem. If the above has not cured your problem, you must run the below. However, the fixes for these diagnostic logs are different for every computer, even with the same error code. You MUST post these logs in your own thread, and not follow any user specific fixes I post to this user. Thanks!

This applied the same to Vista and 7. Do not worry that it says Vista: Please run steps 1, 2A, 3 (about 15 minutes), 4, 5 from this tutorial System Files - SFC Command Don't worry about the logs for the time being. I have a very good reason for not asking for them!

Download and run this tool: Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2 When it has finished installing the update, it is done!

When the above has completed, download and run FireGenUL: Altair Technologies Ltd. A console application will show on the screen for a few seconds.

Right, this has produces a log of logs for me. Please now upload them. To do this, create a new folder on your Desktop called LOGS. Navigate to C:\Windows\Logs and copy the entire CBS folder into your new LOGS folder. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32 and copy FireGenULReport.htm into your LOGS folder.

Close the LOGS folder, and right click on it > Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder. Upload that new zip file. Either upload it here, ideally, or if it is too big to Speedy Share - upload your files here or any other media sharing website.

Thanks, and good luck!

Richard

P.S. I know there is a lot here. Take care!

Just realised something you haven't tried yet. Start Orb > Control Panel > Internet Options > Connections tab > LAN Settings > uncheck any checkbox, to remove any proxy settings.

Then try the batch file at the end of this post (applies to 7 as well as Vista): http://www.vistax64.com/network-shar...ting-tips.html

Good luck!

Richard

Hi guys I did a factory restore on my desktop computer a few weeks back and have had trouble with windows updates ever since It did install some updates successfully see screenshot in Post below when I first reset the computer - though the Windows Update screen says that updates have never been installed and were never last checked for I was able to manually install Service Pack I have tried to follow the posting instructions here's what I got - SURT - I had to manually install and run it I have slow satellite internet It ran for awhile then asked if I update, cannot , 80072EFE error 80072EE2 wanted to download Hotfix I said yes and it did that successfully but then nothing else happened So I ran SURT again and ignored the Hotfix window and cannot update, error 80072EFE , 80072EE2 SURT ran the same searching screen for about four hours and cannot update, error 80072EFE , 80072EE2 I ended up cancelling it SFC Scan - I did that and it said 'Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations ' But - I also did a Microsoft troubleshooting thing that found two errors and I've included a screenshot of that along with the error codes I've included the CBS file Thank you in anticipation

Okay I currently have the CBS file compressing but here's the basic rundown of my problem: Updates fail to install and gives me error code 800736B3, no matter how I try to install them, one at a time, all at once, on shutdown, while computer is running, etc. It has continually asked me to run checkdisk when I turn it on and won't run unless I do, and when it does run, it deletes files that are Corrupted, I think? Has crashed my computer once this past week which made me begin to look into the issue

Edit- The file won't attach normally so I've uploaded it to a public Google drive.

I have lurked in this forum in the past - always finding answers. Thanks to all the experts contributing to this forum.

This time I joined so I could post, as I have been unable to find a solution to my problem.

I can install all updates except for SP1. I keep getting error 800736B3.

I ran the Update Troubleshooter, which claims to have repaired Win Update components - still same error.

I then successfully ran the hotfix KB947821. The same error occurs.

I ran sfc /scannow & no integrity violations were found.

I also tried again after a clean boot - same error.

I don't have a clue as to what to try now. Any suggestions?

Put the win7 disc in and choose upgrade then after that it will restart.

After you have acepted the upgrade it will allow you to install the sp1 .

Once win7 has upgraded ,but still keeping your system in tact ,will start the whole update process. After about a hour or two of updates it will install sp1 with no issue .

Also if you are useing a highend gaming card virus protect etc it might keep it from installing as well

I am running Win Pro SP x on my Macbook Air using Parallels One VM is working perfectly and is accepting all updates the other suddenly stopped accepting updates starting July I have checked Seven Forums Microsoft and Googled and tried all the suggested things NoelDP seems to be successful at helping folks resolve their issues I've run SURT a number of time in different combinations restart no restart SFC scan did not return any problems I cleared the updates and the downloaded files The error codes are all B there were a few others that have disappeared since I tried the different methods to resolve see screen shot from My CBS zip file is MB and to big to upload I will - Error resistant to solution 800736B3 attach a log file that I copied I noticed that some of the KB in the list of pending updates are for x but that does not seem completely unusual I manually downloaded and installed and X and it failed too KB There is a screenshot of update history included I will gladly post Error 800736B3 - resistant to solution all the links that I used if desired Your help is appreciated because I must have spent hours configuring this VM of Windows before it started failing the updates

A:Error 800736B3 - resistant to solution

I have uncovered something that may help with the issue.
Using https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/827218 the automatic detection says I have 32-bit OS but when I check manually it displays that I am using a 64-bit system. See attached images

Hello!

I have tried several days to run the KB3000869 update to my Win 7 laptop without success. It always fails and the error code is every time 800736B3.

I have run ccleaner, sfc /scannow, SURT and several other tools but none of them has helped.

My CBS logs can be found here:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/n2sh16

Can you help me?

Regards,

Jari

I keep getting this error for the last 2 weeks:

80072efe

This is new, as I have been able to update in the past.

I have Service Pack 2.

I have turned off MalwareBytes and Avast, this didnt work. I have also tried the automatic "fix" for this, including the "aggressive" mode.

Thanks in advance for your time and help.

A:Windows Vista not updating - error 80072efe

Hey.

Try opening Internet Explorer. Tools | Internet Options | Connectins | Lan Settings

Make sure nothing there is checked. If there are any, remove them and ok your way out. Then close IE.

Try to update.

If this doesn't work out, check the task manager for mdnsresponder.exe. If you have that, that means you have the Bonjour service installed. Google for the specific instructions on how to completely remove it from the system. Make sure your search for x86 or x64 while searching too as the folders are different in the procedure.

Good luck and let us know... :)

Hi Ry-Msterio,

Have you tried to shut down and reboot your internet connection? Sometimes it can just be a bad connection.

Give that a try and let me know if the download proceeds as usual.

Cheers,

This is an indication that your machine is not clean, not as you think it is.Trojans and Viruses are the most stubborn pieces of code to get rid of completely and at times a full format and wipe is required to get rid of all traces of it.Chances are very good your still infected with a variant. Not being able to go to windows update and browser redirects are signs of a malicious program still has control over your system.Chances are your HOSTS file has been altered as well. You should try downloading and installing MalwareBytes and doing a full scan. http://www.malwarebytes.org/You should most likely post to the AII section of the Bleepingcomputer forums, where trained staff will help you clean your machine at this link. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/103/am-i-infected-what-do-i-do/Good luck.

I'm stuck with 43 waiting updates and the update error 800736B3.
Tried now several approaches from the forum to get it resolved, but no resolution of the issue until now.

sfc /scannow reports no issues.

Maybe one could give me a hint how or if it could be resolved somehow.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Rob,

Lets run SURT to see if it gives an indication of a corruption:

Download and run System Update Readiness Tool (SURT)
Please go Here and download the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT). Save this file to your desktop
Go to your desktop and run KB947821
When the SURT finishes installing, Please continue.
SFC /SCANNOW

Click on the button. Inside the search box type in CMD
Right click on CMD => Choose Run as Administrator
Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following command SFC /SCANNOW
Please wait for this to Finish before continuing with the rest of the steps.

Export CBS folder
Click the Start button then click Computer.
Double-click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder.
Find and double click on the Logs folder.
Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a copy of the CBS folder appear on your Desktop called CBS.
Right-click on this new folder, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder.
A new file, also called CBS (CBS.zip), but this time with a different icon, will be created.

Hello and welcome tenlakes mate I see you have done the sfc and I would suggest you run this as well if you haven't already
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html < if necessary include the /f and /r in the command line as per Option2

just for another option you could run these they don't take long and will eliminate anything from that direction
http://www.superantispyware.com/
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/
ADW download from bleeping computer delete any rubbish found with the malware scans
(NB If one is running Kaspersky security it may rant about ADW - just ignore it or disable Kaspersky while the ADW is being used)

Hello, I am having a small issue with Windows update. Windows 7 Home Premium, 64BIT OEM on HP Pavilion.

Window Update failing error code 800736B3

I have followed the SFC, update readiness, and clean boot procedures listed in the thread I linked above. I believe I have a SIMILAR issue (not the same).

Can anyone give me a light in the proper direction?

SFC found nothing, readiness tool ran and installed hotfix but did not fix issue. I also tried to install updates 1 at a time, to not avail, as well as the clean boot.

Based on my checksur log, I have the following:

Checking Package Watchlist
(f) CBS Watchlist Package Missing 0x80070002 Microsoft-Windows-Embedded-SKU-Foundation-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~0.0.0.0 Microsoft-Windows-InternetExplorer-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.2.9200.16521 Package registry presence failed, possibly an orphaned package on package watchlist

But I am unsure where to go or how to continue at this point. Any sugegstions?

Hi,

This is my first post, and not all that clever with pcs, so apologies in advance if I've missed something out.

I have been getting this error code repeatedly when trying to install update KB2922229 for a couple of months now. Never had any problems before. Other updates were installing just fine, but I am now getting the same error code when trying to install update KB2871997. As both of these updates seem to be related to security, I am getting a bit concerned.

I have followed the steps in the Windows Update Posting Instructions, running SURT and an SFC scan. Logs attached.

Hope someone will be kind enough to help with this.

A:Windows Update Error Code 800736B3

I have never seen such a CheckSUR summary before!

Code:

The SFC scan is clear - which in view of the above, is rather surprising.

Have you tried installing the updates again since running the CheckSUR/SURT?

If not, please do so, and let us know what happens - First do a check for Updates, and see if the updates appear at all - they may not.

Hi,

i need help - my windows update doesn't work.

I put 2 cbs (CBS_1part and CBS_2part) - becouse log have 10MB after zip'ing.
(must unpack CBS_1part and CBS_2part to one folder after that unpack CBS.log)

file other.zip have another files from CBS folder.

A:Windows update Error 80243004 and 800736B3

What on earth did you use to split the Zip files? I've tried 3 different tools, and all tell me the files are corrupt.

Please just zip two/3 files together and upload them separately, then do another 2/3 files.

A:Error Code 80072EFE. Will Not Connect for Windows Update

Hey, just incase anyone else is having the same problem, TDSSKiller seems to have fixed the problem! You can get it from the following link:http://support.kaspersky.com/downloads/utils/tdsskiller.zipAlso go to C:Windows>System32 and delete Catroot2 folder. If there are more Catroot2, for example Catroot2(862) then delete them too. When your computer restarts a new Catroot2 folder will be created, this is normal.Save it to the desktop, extract it there then run the scan. Takes like 2 mins then will reboot the computer and Windows Update should work. It also has fixed the redirecting problem.Running malwarebytes afterwards or before is also a good idea.

HI,
I am trying to correct/fix a virus/malware infection on a Windows Vista Home Premium laptop. I installed Avira and ran it repeatedly and several viruses and malware infections were found/removed. At least the software says that it did. There remains an infection that Avira locates on the D:\ Recovery Partition that was created from Dell called a BOO/Alureon.A virus infection.

I have not been able to use Internet explorer because all of the tries show a report on the screen that the web server has detected a malicious page request and the page is directed somewhere else. The screen has two options for "fixing" the virus/malware over the internet. I never click on any selection, I simply close IE from taks manager and have not tried to use IE again.

Your help is GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,
Tony

A:IE Redirects all Traffic / MS Update Error Code 80072EFE

Hi Tony, I am fairly confident we can get this like this. Please download the TDSS Rootkit Removing Tool (TDSSKiller.exe) and save it to your Desktop. <-Important!!!Be sure to download TDSSKiller.exe (v2.4.0.0) from Kaspersky's website and not TDSSKiller.zip which appears to be an older version 2.3.2.2 of the tool.Double-click on TDSSKiller.exe to run the tool for known TDSS variants.
Vista/Windows 7 users right-click and select Run As Administrator. If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it. To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to How to change the file extension.Click the Start Scan button.Do not use the computer during the scanIf the scan completes with nothing found, click Close to exit.If malicious objects are found, they will show in the Scan results - Select action for found objects and offer three options.Ensure Cure (default) is selected, then click Continue > Reboot now to finish the cleaning process.A log file named TDSSKiller_version_date_time_log.txt (i.e. TDSSKiller.2.4.0.0_27.07.2010_09.o7.26_log.txt) will be created and saved to the root directory (usually Local Disk C:).Copy and paste the contents of that file in your next reply.Next run MBAM (MalwareBytes):Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.Download Link 1Download Link 2MBAM may "make changes to your registry" as part of its disinfection routine. If using other security programs that detect registry changes (ie Spybot's Teatimer), they may interfere or alert you. Temporarily disable such programs or permit them to allow the changes.Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
For instructions with screenshots, please refer to the How to use Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Guide. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan.If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the definition updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. On the Scanner tab:Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected. Then click on the Scan button. If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen:Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad. The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.Exit MBAM when done.Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so MBAM can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.... Read more

Hello and welcome to the forums! My secret agent name on the forums is SweetTech (you can call me ST for short), it's a pleasure to meet you. I am very sorry for the delay in responding, but as you can see we are at the moment being flooded with logs which, when paired with the never-ending shortage of helpers, resulted in the delayed responding to your thread.I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. If you have since resolved the issues you were originally experiencing, or have received help elsewhere, please inform me so that this topic can be closed. If you have not, please adhere to the guidelines below and then follow instructions as outlined further below:Logs from malware removal programs (OTL is one of them) can take some time to analyze. I need you to be patient while I analyze any logs you post. Please remember, I am a volunteer, and I do have a life outside of these forums.
Please make sure to carefully read any instruction that I give you. Attention to detail is important! Since I cannot see or directly interact with your computer I am dependent on you to "be my eyes" and provide as much information as you can regarding the current state of your computer.
If you're not sure, or if something unexpected happens, do NOT continue! Stop and ask!
In Windows Vista and Windows 7, all tools need to be started by right clicking and selecting Run as Administrator!
If I instruct you to download a specific tool in which you already have, please delete the copy that you have and re-download the tool. The reason I ask you to do this is because these tools are updated fairly regularly.
Do not do things I do not ask for, such as running a spyware scan on your computer. The one thing that you should always do, is to make sure sure that your anti-virus definitions are up-to-date!
Please do not use the Attachment feature for any log file. Do a Copy/Paste of the entire contents of the log file and submit it inside your post.
I am going to stick with you until ALL malware is gone from your system. I would appreciate it if you would do the same. From this point, we're in this together ;)
Because of this, you must reply within three days failure to reply will result in the topic being closed!
Lastly, I am no magician. I will try very hard to fix your issues, but no promises can be made. Also be aware that some infections are so severe that you might need to resort to reformatting and reinstalling your operating system.
Don't worry, this only happens in severe cases, but it sadly does happen. Be prepared to back up your data. Have means of backing up your data available.____________________________________________________Rootkit UnHooker (RkU)Please download Rootkit Unhooker from one of the following links and save it to your desktop.Link 1 (.exe file)Link 2 (zipped file)Link 3 (.rar file)In order to use this tool if you downloaded from either of the second two links, you will need to extract the RKUnhookerLE.exe file using a program capable of extracing ZIP and RAR compressed files. Hello,

I seem to be running into a popular issue with Windows Update- 800736B3. WU is not completely broken, as it's still able to install updates to Security Essentials and non-system software (IE11, Office). All system updates, however, are failing. I've ran SURT and SFC scan, but both didn't report any outright errors. The logs should be attached to this post in the .zip

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

A:Windows Update constant failures, Error 800736B3

There are no errors in CheckSUR or the SFC scan, and nothing significant in the background CBS data.

Please post your C:\Windows\windowsupdate.log file - it may tell us where the problem lies.

If the file is too large (8MB compressed), remove the older CBSPersist cab files until the final file is below the limit - you can always post them separately after zipping them. (the forum doesn't allow the upload of bare CAB files, for a number of reasons)

A:Windows 7 updates failing with error code 800736B3

Have never had Avast free home interfere with anything, but you can disable it to try the Updates by right clicking it's icon in system tray and "turn off real time protection"

I note that another recent thread on this error found by Googling also remains unresolved.

If you bought your Win7 retail, you are entitled to MS excellent tech support which will work the case through to satisfaction. Those Updates are standard and can wait a few days.

I would really appreciate any insight as to what you think may be causing the issue, reformatting would really set me back since this computer has some industry specific CAD programs that are a pain to setup.

thanks again,Mark

For some reason I cant post an attachment "attach button doesn't respond, in fact none of them do", I'll add a reply to the thread to see if I can then.

Update: Sorry about the missing attachments, I moved them out of the folder and forgot to attach, there are a couple of older CBS Persist files if you need them.

thanks

Hello baertekxx12,

Peruse the link below to see if it provides any useful information.

Quote:
Microsoft has no publicly available information for error code 800736B3.
Other threads in Answers forums very strongly suggest that error code 800736B3 is a symptom of system corruption/damage, most often caused by, e.g., one or more Norton realtime-protection processes, an infection, and/or injudicious use of "Registry cleaners" (e.g., Registry Mechanic; System Mechanic; RegCure; Advanced SystemCare; AVG PC TuneUp; PCTools Optimiser; CCleaner).

Hello everyone.

I am an entry level intern IT/IA guy and am in need of help.

A computer in my work place is having issues and is getting the Blue Screen Error.

My boss wrote down the error codes as:

STOP: 0x000000F4 (0x00000003, 0x89A03020, 0x89A03194, 0x805D22DA)

0xF4 is a CRITICAL_OBJECT_TERMINATION
0x03 is an INVALID_AFFINITY_SET

I tried to look up what the last three are, but turned up empty.

If anyone will please help me out, that would be awesome!

Side Note 1:
The Dell support diagnostic tools will not download for some reason. Keeps coming up with an error of "can not access the internet", or something close to that, even though there is internet access and it can access the internet.

Side Note 2: I believe that the Service Pack is 2, it maybe 3.

Side Note 3: The laptop is a Dell Latitude E5400

I recently upgrade my computer from Windows 7 Pro 32 bit to Windows 7 Pro 64 bit; so I'm pretty sure my issues are somewhat driver based.

Most of the time the BSOD's happen randomly; though some of the times are when launching games.

I'm a novice at understanding/interpreting the dump files so help is greatly appreciated.

The dmp files are attached! If you need any more info, let me know.

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Ran Windows in SafeMode for about an hour or two. Ran fine without any crashes.

A:Random BSOD, multiple error codes, error ntoskrnl.exe

Still having this problem. I uninstalled adn reinstalled all my drivers. I ran chkdsk (There was a few corruption, but they've been fixed). I ran Seatools - all tests passed. I have no idea what else to try. Any suggestions?

Recently I restored my computer to windows 7 after using Windows 8 for a short period of time provided by my university. I don't think the story as to why I went back is very necessary so I'll skip it and get onto my problem.

Upon returning to Win7, I began to get some errors, namely my computer would BSOD every time that it went to "sleep". Additionally, on boot-up, the bios would give me the option to boot in Win8.1, even though I had removed it.

I'm trying to solve the BSOD issue, however I think that the two are related. I have attached the minidump folders and sysinfo in a .zip. I was trying to resolve this on my own - however my understanding of hardware and software is obviously not advanced enough to do so.

A:BSOD error when computer goes to sleep. Unable to get error codes.

The zip you uploaded does not contain any crash dump.

Follow it: Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD
Go to Option Two, Point 2. Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, search the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup program before you upload another zip.

Hi. I'm working on a friend's computer. The computer has been coming up with the blue screen stop error. It will rarely load fully into windows, safemode or not, but it always restarts within a few minutes of loading the desktop. I think it loads into windows about each 15x I restart the computer, approximately.
It has Windows XP SP2 French Edition, so I've been unable to fully decipher the error messages, although the error codes are all the same. There have been multiple error codes:

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
STOP: 0x000000D1 (0x0000000D, 0x00000007, 0x00000001, 0x825AB5C?)

STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x805EF530, 0xBACC2e7C, 0x00000000)

STOP: 0x0000000A .....

PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

0x00000050 (0xBA063F78. 0x00000000, 0x8056E9EC, 0x00000000)

There have been no new installations of hardware or programs.

I can not get it to boot onto the windows disc.

Help!?

A:XP - Blue Screen Error - multiple error codes

are you trying to use the original XP disc that matches the load of XP currently on the machine.....? have you gone into the Bios to adjust the boot sequence to tell it to boot from CD rom first and force it to boot from the CD? you say it will rarely boot into Windows XP .,,so sometimes it eventually will boot stabally into the Desktop?

Try adding a different Time Server with a registry edit. I use time.nist.gov at home.

I ve been trying to fix a problem with my other computer and I am having trouble finding out exactly what the codes mean The codes I m having problems deciphering are described Error Error Reference Codes, Event in another post if anyone cares to look http www bleepingcomputer com forums topic html page p entry For this post I would just like to know if there is a place anywhere on the net that lists all the error codes in one place When I get error codes I always enter the code in the search bar of my browser and see what comes Error Codes, Event Error Reference up If exactly the Error Codes, Event Error Reference same code is listed in the search results the descriptions of the problem are often vague or have many possible reasons for the error s I m guessing that all the codes listed within the parentheses might help pinpoint the problem Is this right I would like to find lists for both BSOD technical Error Codes, Event Error Reference errors and event errors reported by the operating system Having a resource like this would be tremendously helpful and save me a lot of time Thanks

I am running Microsoft XP.

My nephew was into some porn sites that really messed things up. I ran iS3 Stopzilla and it did remove 19 Infections.

Later in the day I went back to go onto the internet and things started to happen.

First I could not connect to the internet at all. Each time I tried, I received the "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage" i.e. yahoo.com

I ran the diagnose connection and indicated that I had to contact my ISP. I did that and thing worked ok for a little while. Then things just returned back to bad...

Bottom line is 1. I do not know how to do DNS Cache Cleaning, 2. I also have 2 error code's, Ox2afc and error code 80072ee7.

I have tried several time's to do a system restore and I keep having the same problem.

I hope that someone can help soon.

Thank you for your time.

I am running music software on my pc and a few days ago the system crashed . At first I thought it was the music software but after uninstalling and reinstalling I still had problems . I eventually noted down the following
list of error codes could someone please help.
Bcc code 1000008c BCP1 C0000005 BCP2 BD1F136C BCP3 AA233694
BCP4 00000000 )S Ver 5.1.2600 SP3.00 Product 256-1. These are the codes that appear when I click on the grey box that appears when I reboot informing me that the sysytem has recovered from a serious problem.
I belive this might be a registry problem and if so how do I repair it.Is it possible to repair without uninstalling windows ?
