I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Since the card replacement, things were working fine up until just recently, when I've been having a random BSoD pop up. This has happened twice so far. Here's some info on the crash:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
BCCode: 116
BCP1: 849863A0
BCP2: 8E41FF80
BCP3: C000009A
BCP4: 00000004
OS Version: 6_1_7600
Service Pack: 0_0
Product: 256_1

Files that help describe the problem:
C:\Windows\Minidump\071510-31044-01.dmp
C:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-43836-0.sysdata.xml

To be certain I didn't have any sort of virus or anything, I ran CHKDSK and found no errors. I also reformatted my drive and wiped it clean. Upon completion and a fresh install of Windows, I still get a random blue screen.

The problem I have is this: I ran the Windows Experience Index, and my score is usually a 3.5, but has now dropped down to 2.0, with the graphics card having the lowest score. I've installed the latest drivers for my graphics card, and when attempting to watch any online videos, play a game, open or close a window, etc., everything is just sluggish. All of the transitions that take place within the windows environment running on Aero just seem to struggle. As a side note, my system is not modified in any way.

I noticed the crash takes place when doing anything that involves video or heavy use of the graphics card. I'm almost certain I'll have to replace my card again, as the symptoms I'm having are similar to when my older card died out, except my display doesn't have jagged lines or running in 8 bits of color.

I know nothing about dump files, so I've attached everything here that I found in reading the BSoD guidelines.

Thanks for any help.

This last DMP was caused by your video driver again. You need to completely remove all remnants of the current driver before installing a new copy. If you are overclocking stop

Hi Been having BSODs which I strongly suspect to be from a failing graphics card but I figured I would check with the pros before declaring it a dud OS - Windows Ultimate -bit First installed Windows XP SP then immediately upgraded to I built the computer myself so these are retail versions All hardware months old I have reinstalled the OS as recently as weeks ago I used to get a lot of BSODing with errors such as IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION PFN LIST CORRUPT win k sys blue screens with no descriptions and once a freaky error where instead of booting my computer flashed a bunch of random pixels on the screen and produced a consistent POST noise turned out to be a one-time thing to I think BSODs related are that graphics card so I was able to reformat and reinstall windows out of confusion terror The BSODs first began after playing Skyrim for a long period so my card was definitely under stress Reinstalling windows apparently worked for weeks until today when Mr BSOD showed up again after cranking up my display settings a little bit in Skyrim CPU - AMD Phenom II x Black Edition GHz Video Card - Galaxy GeForce GTX MB using most recent drivers MotherBoard - ASUS M A TD-M EVO w integrated ATI Radeon HD Power Supply - Rosewill Stallion RD - SB W ATX V v recommended for is W NOTE - I took out the which was giving me problems and am currently using the integrated graphics thus BSODs that I think are related to graphics card all of these tests will be with the radeon I can BSODs that I think are related to graphics card certainly try to hook up the again and rerun the tests if they don't provide sufficient info

A:BSODs that I think are related to graphics card

Hi -

I don't see video as a cause of this particular BSOD.

It appears memory related.

Run memtest86+ - http://www.techsupportforum.com/2863029-post5.html

I see USB mouse & kb - any USB storage devices?

Readyboost listed as probable cause; however, it could have loaded because of the mouse/ kb.

Did you have any trouble with XP or W7 installs?

Regards. . .

I havnt tested with other games at the moment, but I get the bluescreens when playing Battlefield Bad company 2, I can play for hours and then I suddenly get it. The Bsod message varies actually, sometimes its IRQL not less or equal, other times its pagefault in nonpaged area, or sometimes even "dx1mm.sys" error

I know it's the graphics card because I had same problem on my previous build (yes I did format after installing new hardware), but I didnt bother to ask for help for it before now.

When I used the nvidia driver 196.21, it the fps in the game was horrible. So right now I am using the beta driver 197.13 which works great except for the bluescreens (GOt bluescreens with the 196.21 aswell).

Well.. anyways. Heres the minidump file

This crash was caused by cng.sys. I would be extremely concerned as the only references I could find to it show it as a virus. I would run an in depth virus scan. After you have and nothing shows we can investigae any future bsod's

Hi all!

I've been annoyed by BSOD quite a while now. Don't know exactly what caused it, but I suspect it has something to do with the graphics card (ATI).

To help in diagnosis I'll describe more about what happened. My computer shuts down (power failure, not normal shutdown) or BSOD randomly off and on, but this symptom usually goes away after using the computer for a while. If I leave the computer powered off for some time, the problem comes back again. Sometimes when I press the power button, the computer doesn't power on immediately, but sometime later it powers on automatically. Judging from these it seems the power's got some problem, but I'm not sure.

I suspect it's graphics card related because ATI drivers' name shows up in some (but not all) dump file (some network drivers also).

Please find attached the DM Log.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

I've experienced multiple BSODs almost every other day whether it'd be gaming or just plain surfing the web. I can trace it down to atikmdag being an issue on the computer. I've installed AMD uninstall and then reinstalled my drivers to no end.

I'm not sure if it'll show within the logs, but i previously had a CPU heating issue due to not applying thermal paste properly. That problem has now been fixed already.

Thank you so much for your help in advance!

My computer, a Sony Vaio VPCEB390X, BSODs on startup. Through some exploration I determined that it was due to my graphics card, a ATI Radeon HD 5650.
The computer boots fine in safe mode, or if the Radeon's driver are turned off or uninstalled. The problem details it produces are as follows:

Problem signature:
  Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
  OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
  Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:
  BCCode: 116
  BCP1: FFFFFA800B534010
  BCP2: FFFFF88006D3040C
  BCP3: 0000000000000000
  BCP4: 0000000000000002
  OS Version: 6_1_7600
  Service Pack: 0_0
  Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:
  C:\Windows\Minidump\061914-31871-01.dmp

The Minidump gave me this:Probably caused by : atikmpag.sys ( atikmpag+640c )
[And a bunch of other stuff]

I've attempted to uninstall and reinstall the drivers, tried different sets of them from both the Sony and AMD website - to no avail.

This problem started happening just last night. I was playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and suddenly, graphical glitches started appearing on the screen (rainbow colors, among other weird effects, it's hard to describe), and suddenly it froze and the sound became distorted and looping. My monitor shut off and on a few times and then my computer restarted.

I booted up League of Legends (which has considerably smaller system requirements) and it happened again. I'm ready to chalk it up to my graphics card dying, but I figured I would upload my minidump file to see if there's anything that could be at fault.

My graphics card is a GeForce 9800 GTX, for reference. I'll install the latest drivers if that looks to be the problem, but I haven't done so yet. No graphical problems or major performance problems exist outside of gaming.

A:BSOD possibly related to graphics card

Quote:
rainbow colors, among other weird effects, it's hard to describe

This suggests a faulty or overheating graphics card
BSOD caused by nvlddmkm.sys, part of Nvidia drivers

Possible causes: bad RAM/PSU, incorrect RAM timings/voltages, bad Graphics card, overheating, outdated driver

Uninstall the Nvidia driver then use driver sweeper to remove leftover driver files
Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

Reinstall Nvidia drivers in safe mode
NVIDIA DRIVERS 260.99 WHQL

If the above does not work get another card

This was likely caused by the following module: nvlddmkm.sys

Hi;
I am running XP Home SP2 and hopefully all clean, but have just noted in EventViewer/Security- many new entries with each start, or retsart such as,

"An authentication package has been loaded by the Local Security Authority. This authentication package will be used to authenticate logon attempts.
Authentication Package Name: C:\WINDOWS\system32\schannel.dll : Schannel"

That's an example of one of the earlier ones on May 17.
This is on from just a few minutes ago,

"A trusted logon process has registered with the Local Security Authority. This logon process will be trusted to submit logon requests.

Logon Process Name: RASMAN

For more information, see Help and Support Center at "

I have no idea of what RASMAN is.

Windows Firewall is running.

Looking forward to any help- Thanks much.

Roger

More than likely it is just services starting/restarting. It may also make an entry when you boot up or shut down.

You can clear the log, reboot and see what all pops up.

A:Random BSOD's, possibly related to graphics card

Welcome to Sevenforums, Jpow

The dumps point to memory corruption as the probably cause. This is likely due to driver or memory issues.

Please run the following Hardware tests:

RAM - Test with Memtest86+

Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable

well, my computer started crashing\shutting itself down like maybe twice a day now.
i'm not an expert in these matters, but i think its related to the graphics card
or the monitor. because it seems to happen only when or after i play a computer game or a flash game online. plus the monitor is a bit old and not the one i bought with the computer, and it seems to get heated up. so i figured maybe the monitor\card have an overload or something and cause the pc to crush. can anyone help? )=

Hello.

I've been getting BSODs over the last few weeks with differing messages. Bad pool header, memory management, nvlddmkm.sys and others.

I've had the ram and the graphics cards out and used compressed air to clean the cards and the slots.

I've flashed my bios to a more recent version.

I've ran malwarebytes.

I've removed the graphics driver with DDU and installed a different driver.

Ran memtest and it came back with no errors.

I've done a non destructive reinstall of windows.

I've tried all the above, but am still getting BSODS.

A:BSOD possibly graphics card or memory related

There are no dumps in your logs.
There aren't any .dmp files in your attachment. These are required to analyse the BSODs.

Follow these steps:

1. Configure Windows to create minidumps:
Dump Files - Configure Windows to Create on BSOD

2. Set the paging file on C: to be the same size as the physically installed RAM:
Virtual Memory Paging File - Change

3. Set the Windows Error Reporting service to MANUAL:
Services - Start or Disable

4. Test to see that dump files are created:
- Open Windows Task Manager
- Navigate to the Processes tab
- Right-click on explorer.exe, and click Create Dump File

- Note the location of the saved file

- Check that location and confirm that explorer.dmp exists

Hello and welcome James look mate I will have a go because I see you have been waiting for some time.
Now there are a few issues in your machine (how old and model please??)

Now you have used Logmein at some stage and I am wondering if your system hasn't been corrupted somehow.
As for two graphic cards unless it is a high end gamer like my other lappy (Asus ROG) then it is showing only one the second one I think you may be mistaking for the audio set up.
So we need to know the model at least first please.

It just seems to be getting worse, to the point where I can't really even use my computer anymore. Attached are two more minidumps. I'd really appreciate someone helping me out.

This has happened several times in the past few days. I fear my graphics card might need replacing? I've attached the error message below.

I logged in to play World of Warcraft and after a explosion of lines and abnormal colors, the screen went blank and then a blue screen showed up. Upon restarting regularly, I had repeated blue screens. I'm running in Safe Mode now. Thanks for any help, it would be greatly appreciated!

My AMD R9 280 graphics card is generating hundreds of informational events in the log ACEEvent.

This seems to be an AMD driver problem going back several years. How can I disable logging of these events? I looked at the properties box for ACEEvent but it is greyed out and I can't change it.

A:AMD Graphics Card Floods Event Log - ACEEvent

I discovered these events relate to AMD's Catalyst Control Manager (CCM). I've now disabled CCM from the start-up tab in Task Manager so it doesn't load at start-up and I now have zero reported events in ACCEventLog.

I don't miss CCM since I never fiddle with the graphics settings and it can soon be started by a right click on the desktop if needed.

My Event Viewer entries regularly include these:
Source- Dlcp
Event- 1007

Source- Service Control Manager
Event- 7023

Both are marked with symbols that I take as needing serious attention.

What is occurring? Need I do something?

Thanks, {redoak}

I have a Toshiba Satellite S D-A that was given to me last August It came with Win and between compatibility issues with my older software and Win turning it into a bread-warmer running hot and largely useless in December I downgraded it dxgkrn1.sys on BSOD related startup - Graphics atikmdag.sys, card to Windows Home Premium -Bit making use of the Win drivers available from the Toshiba Europe support site Everything ran fine until about two weeks ago when it started BSoDing on startup citing the atikmdag sys file and Bugcheck in the BSoD screen and in system restores afterwards not every startup usually worked for several sleep wake - restart - shut down cold boot cycles before it F's up again and seemed Graphics card related BSOD on startup - atikmdag.sys, dxgkrn1.sys to most Graphics card related BSOD on startup - atikmdag.sys, dxgkrn1.sys often come up on cold boots After trying a number of fixes listed online such as manually expanding the atikmdag sy file using expand exe I decided to backup all my data and reinstall the OS and all drivers from scratch This has not unfortunately made the BSoDs go away As of my latest attempt at fixing it over the Graphics card related BSOD on startup - atikmdag.sys, dxgkrn1.sys weekend this is what I've done Clean reinstall of Win Home Premium Bit starting from a repartitioned re-formatted hard drive Installed all requisite Win drivers from the Toshiba EU support including registry patches and double-checking that the BIOS is up to date but excluding video card drivers On the theory that it may have been a recent Windows update that messed things up I made a system restore point then tried installing the Toshiba EU driver It BSODed I restored to teh save point and ran Display Driver Uninstaller to get back to a clean state Ran Windows update iteratively until it ceased finding new updates Installed a few pieces of software I most often use that are not graphics card dependant OpenOffice Notepad Chrome Calibre - I mostly use the laptop for reading writing so my system is at least useful in its driver-less state while I get the graphics problem sorted out Explicitly created another clean restore point Started with the AMD Drivers from the Toshiba EU site Still continues to BSoD on startups - see the quot EUDD quot file attached Gave up on the Toshiba EU AMD drivers and tried the following drivers from the AMD site AMD Catalyst Display Driver for Embedded G-Series cards - Installed without problem but video card shows up as a generic sVGA card instead of dual card setup Ie useless Tried the AMD drivers for notebooks with HD Radeon series xxxM cards - did a full install of everything in installer package BSoD on reboot but citing netbt sys instead of atikmdag sys see quot AMD Mobile quot file - possibly progress Tried AMD's auto-detector tool It came up with the same installer file as above Did another reinstall this time custom and only installing the minimum of parts of the package Got through several boots since yesterday and then it BSoDed again today citing dxgkrn sys see quot AMD Mobile TakeTwo quot file Note - between installs of the various drivers I restore to the save point and run the Display Driver Uninstaller to make sure it's back to a clean state again as well as manually checking C Windows system drivers to be sure that all atikm sys files are gone At this point I don't know what else to try and whether I should be trying it with the Toshiba EU driver or the AMD Mobility driver

A:Graphics card related BSOD on startup - atikmdag.sys, dxgkrn1.sys

After giving it further thought I decided it's the original drivers I need to get back in working condition - of the ones tried so far, they're the only one that correctly identifies the dual-card setup in this machine. So I reinstalled them last night. Got through a couple restarts without problem and then on a restart just a few minutes ago, down they went again - still identifying atikmdag.sys and a Bugcheck 116 in the failure, according to windbg.

Welcome aboard.

First, you are to clean the dust inside the computer, reseat the ram modules, clean the edges with cotton clothes, Reseat the sata and power cables, update the display driver.

Those actions may change the situation there.

hi, usually my computer starts right up and the monitor lights up as well. sometimes tho, the computer seems to start, but the monitor on light keeps flashing and monitor doesnt light up. I hear the motherboard beep ok, then I hear the windows music playing (the welcome to windows 7 screen music) so it seems the computer function is working, just the monitor doesnt light up. so I hit reset and it works fine. happens about every 7 or 8 boot ups. suggestions? A:boot related problem caused by graphics card/drivers?

Check your monitor cable connection
Make sure your video card is seated properly
Check device manager to see if there is a video error
Download and install the latest video driver
Check your Event Viewer for any error messages

hi all,

i always check my boot time from event manager following this pattern:

Event viewer -> Applications and Services log -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Diagnostic Performance -> Operational

off late, i have noticed under Microsoft i get another entry along with Windows. it is IEResp. this was not present earlier.

further under Diagnostic Performance, there was only operational but now there are two more entries i.e Diagnostic and Diagnostic -loopback.

i have observed that my booting time has also gone up.

are these entries valid? why have they turned up? is it ok to keep them or is there any thing i need to do since these entries have turned up.

kindly drop ur views.
thanks,

In a strange turn of events, Nvidia elected to use Epic Games' media event (instead of its own last night) at the Game Developers Conference to reveal its newest flagship graphics card, the Titan X.

A:Nvidia crashes Epic Games' media event, announces Titan X graphics card

Soo... What are the chances of a 6GB "980Ti" variant? A bit like the 780Ti was to the Titan Black?
Because it would be better for games and a hell of a lot cheaper

If the rumor mill is to be believed, the price is going to be $1,349, Most people who buy this for gaming will have no use of the double precision floating point prowess of the card, and the few that would probably should have spent a couple hundred extra bucks to get a proper Quadro!

Hi, I have a EVGA e-GeForce 7600GT 256 MB PCIe Video Card which supports the SLI technology allowing me to link up 2 or more graphics cards for greater performance. Now this card has DDR3 memory. I wanted to know if I can link it up with a DDR2 memory graphics card which also supports SLI. If I can, how will this difference affect performance?

Which card?? "A card with DDR3 memory", or "A thingy with a red switch on it" tell us just as much.
But if it's not another 7600 GT you're trying to SLi, just forget it, especially if you're going to buy the other card.

A:Graphics card doesn't post any graphics to my monitor, computer boots up fine

Its usually just the graphics cards, they do fail especially if they overheat - then video card fan not speeding up might have been the problem - most are dynamic and should actually speed up under load. Depending on the manufacturer of your 8800GTX you might be able to get it replaced under warranty if they have a 3 year or greater warranty.

A:Whats a Good Graphics card for Gaming and using Adobe Software-Graphics

7...

I've done a lot of research on this because I built a new system back in August. While I am not much of a gamer, I needed a very good NLE machine. However, the card I chose is quite the gamer card but had all the extras I needed to run Adobe Video Collection.

I picked the Connect 3D Radeon X850XT Platinum card from Tigerdirect. At the time it was $350 but I know it's cheaper now. It's got everything you need for a demanding application like Premiere Pro 1.5 and its related software. 256MB of GDDR3 memory and dual DVI outs. I highly recommend this card. I've been using it since the start of September with Adobe and it's great.

Your CPU and memory are a bit more of an important factor with rendering and burning though. My new PC has a 3.4Ghz P4 and 2GB of 533Mhz dual channel RAM. It's an exceptional increase in speed and productivity over my old 2.4Ghz and 512 Rambus.

But since my existing graphics card is gone and there is no on board graphics card on my PC I am not able to uninstall existing graphics card and install new one.

Could some one please suggest me what to do in this situation to see some thing in monitor so that in can start doing Uninstall/Installtions.?

Thank you very much for your replies in advance. I really apprecite it.

A:How to install graphics card when the existing graphics card in not working.

You could always stick the new one in and boot up in safe mode. Then proceed to uninstall all the remnant drivers. That *shouldn't* cause any problems, but it may be choppy when you boot up.(I've had this happen before, swapping a Riva TNT2 for a GF6600).

Hi for the last months ive been trying to fix a but Nvidia Random not card with restarts card graphics graphics AMD problem that ive been having with my computer about months ago I did a major pc upgrade where i replaced my motherboard processor ram heat sink power supply and case the only things I used from the original computer where HDD's SDD and my AMD radeon HD gb Now ive have the most strange issue where i can be watching a video off the HDD or surfing the web on youtube etc and not long after I Random restarts with AMD graphics card but not Nvidia graphics card start the activity my computer will turn off like if I had flicked the switch on the back of the power supply and then it boots back up again and will run fine until i start up an activity again and then it does exactly the same thing and reboots there is no BSOD shown nor Dumps Created Ive tried many things to sort this out and have RMA'ed the power supply and the motherboard the motherboard wasn't a direct replacement as they didn't sell my original board anymore which was a gigabyte ga-x -ud now i have an asus p x deluxe I have tried only plugging in one HDD SSD and then tried a spare HDD when that failed i have tried one ram stick at a time and still nothing now heres where it gets strange whilst trying to rule out differnt hardware i switched my AMD card out for a very old mb pcie x nvidia graphics and since then my computer has been running marvelously i can have it playing videos for hours days even although i havent properly tested for days and not a single problem at all The main difference between the cards is obiously one is nvidia and the other is AMD the nvidia one doesn't require any form of external power from the power supply where as the AMD one requires pin connectors and the AMD card is Massively more powerful when compared to the nvidia one the AMD one can run Practically all new titles on max with ease whereas the nividia card struggles to play gta sa on medium so i think ive narrowed it down to a driver error with amd and another driver with my new board a damaged AMD card a second dodgy power supply or something else that i haven't thought about or discovered yet Has anyone else had a similar problem or have any suggetions as im pretty much all out of ideas at this point and its starting to grind my gears that i cant use my expensive new computer as it should be Any help is appreciated Joe P S sorry about any spelling or punctuation mistakes made but Im very tired at the time of writing this and will be going to bed

The comparison you are making between GPU brands is pointless as a diagnostic. The MAIN difference I can see is that one card requires external power, and the other one does not. A proper diagnostic would be to test another GPU that requires external power.

I've heard that the specific PSU you bought will sometimes not power all the hardware it is supposed so.
People saying it could barely power a SSD, or even an extra fan.

My thoughts. Try using another PSU, try using a similar GPU. Use your old PSU and see if it still happens for starters.

Hi all Video card appears to be reaching the end of the road with regular crashes of x type After extensive attempts card Enabling method onboard graphics graphics/Disabling to fix it the conclusion is that the card needs to be replaced I plan to acquire a completely new computer when I go overseas in days time Until then a band-aid solution occurred to me to last this week use the onboard graphics integrated in the motherboard instead of the failing discrete graphics card Some background info Motherboard is GA-G M-ES L Graphics card is nVidia GT Current display interface is DVI connected to graphics card VGA cable available My method is Update motherboard GA-G M-ES L drivers Uninstall discrete graphics card nVidia GT drivers Reboot and access BIOS Via BIOS disable graphics card and enable onboard graphics Save and shutdown Disconnect DVI monitor cable from graphics card also from monitor Connect VGA monitor cable to motherboard also to monitor Boot Enabling onboard graphics/Disabling graphics card method I would lke your opinion on this planned course of action which potentially could be nigh unfixable

A:Enabling onboard graphics/Disabling graphics card method

That is just how you should do that, it's unremarkable.

Should not be a problem at all, it's routine, you could add another card later and be just fine after disabling on-board again.

A:Problem installing new graphics card on Emachine/onboard-graphics

An extreme option

As you do have the option of a working computer prior to installing the new card I would back up any files that are important to you..
Then, before I would pay someone else BIG bucks, I would put in the new card and try a fresh install of windows. Force it to recognise your new card. The drivers that Windows will pick should suffice until the install is done and you can then install the card specific drivers from your disk.
This is given ONLY as a choice. I am not sure this will solve your problem but IT IS something this cheap bas____ would try before paying someone else.

Good Luck and check back, maybe someone else will contribute a better idea.

Hello there, I am looking for a dirt cheap, Windows 7 suitable graphics card for use with a PC designed for multimedia purposes (watching films, listening to music etc). I would like to be able to use the full visual effects Windows 7 has to offer. It must have an S-video output and be compatible with the Asus M3A78-CM Motherboard. I have 1 PCI Express x 1 slot free and 2 x PCI 2.2 slots free.

Please provide some suggestions, doesn't have to be brand new.

Either that, or something like the Gadmei XGA/VGA LCD TV BOX. I want to connect my PC with the motherboard mentioned previously to my CRT TV (Panasonic TX-28PL4 Quintrix). The motherboard has onboard graphics via dvi and vga outputs. The TV has an S-VHS plug on the front, as well as RCA Audio/Video sockets. On the rear, it has 1 spare scart input.

Friends,

Lately I have been having graphics problems in games. There are these " artifacts", wierd shapes, triangles, ect that appear and "shot" through my screen. it is hard to explain what it looks like, except that it is NOT normal.

It is hard to say when these appeared. I have recently got a different monitor. It is not new. It is a Dell CRT monitor. I replaced 1 CRT with another because I am cheap .

I have the latest drivers, I think, for my graphics card ( GeForce 5700 LE ). Not great , but not terrible. I play the games with either low or medium settings. I ran a benchmark test that was terrible.

Any ideas as to weather it is the card or monitor?

the graphics card listed in my specs may only be 64MB, but it surprisingly runs aero.
If that seems to be not quite what you're looking for, another card I would recommend is the nvidia 8400GS. It may be 512MB, but thats about as high as it's specs go, but you will need a more powerful PSU (300W+). The 8400GS is about ?30 and a vga to RCA adapter seems to be about ?5 (i recommend you buy the adapter before the card).
The one in my specs just has a VGA port, but the 8400GS has vga, dvi and hdmi (i think the hdmi may need some further cabling in the case, not sure though)

NB (the card listed in my system specs may actually be the GeForce 7200GS, all system information programs tell me that it could be both and there's no sticker on it. all i know for (kinda) certain is that its 64MB )

What do I need to do to improve the graphics of my laptop? Do I need to get a new laptop?

This laptop is not a great gaming laptop. There's nothing you can upgrade on it. If you are serious about gaming, use a up-gradable desktop PC or be prepared to spend a great deal more money on a gaming laptop

A:Onboard graphics detected not graphics card

Hi , The option is the one where the nvidia card and intel on-board are shown, and the BIOS should select the nvidia card as priority if it can, and has a choice.
It's sometimes known as 'Primary Video' & the option is called PEG.
Make sure you save the settings when you exit or they won't be changed from before.

A:no video card graphics nor online graphics

Hello! Welcome to TechSpot!

What is the ram & psu make and model?
Try clearing the cmos, per MoBo book.
First check to see that you used MoBo's stand off's correctly and
that the MoBo is not shorting out on the case.
Do a bare setup, only the essentials. Can be done with or without case.

1.cpu heatsink/fan
2.MoBo
3.1 stick of known good ram
4.video card
5. keyboard
6.monitor

Un-hook all power & data cables (except the power to MoBo)
remove all addin cards.
This is just to get you to the bios screen.
Failing this, try booting without any ram just to see if you get any error
beep codes, same with video card.

This should help getting some trouble shooting in order.
G'Luck and let us know.

I just picked up an HP dx2000 desktop computer that has the "Intel Extreme Graphics 2" onboard video card. Im trying to play World of Warcraft on the machine and it is a bit jumpy due to what I assume is the graphics card. The system has 1Gb of RAM so I dont believe it has anything to do with the RAM.

My question is, will my system benifit from a PCI graphics card or is the bus too slow for PCI to show any type of improvement? The only reason I say PCI is because the system does not have an AGP slot.

Thanks!

ASUS GT240 graphics card "ERROR CAN NOT FIND GRAPHICS CARD" Can anyone help me with this error message? I can hear the windows startup sound but it shows no display so i plugged the cable into the motherboad and an error box opend wich stated "ERROR CAN NOT FIND GRAPHICS CARD" with no additional information. A:ASUS GT240 graphics card "ERROR CAN NOT FIND GRAPHICS CARD"

Do you have the PCIe set as first to initialize in the BIOS? Also, have you tried the card in another slot on the MoBo? Have you tried cleaning out the slot with canned air? Have you tried using a pencil eraser to gently clean the contacts in the GPU where it plugs into the PCIe?

And please, thoroughly fill out your System Specs by clicking on the tab under your post.

Hey, recently, I have came up with an idea of a fourth monitor, but my GPU (970) supports only three, which ones that I own. It has fourth one but I don't have the right cables for it for now.
I noticed that my motherboard has two open video ports, one being VGA which I needed. So, I tried just plugging it in and seeing what happens but it doesn't seem to work, I have tried looking for results around the internet and BIOS but they don't seem to work. The three monitors which I have plugged into my GPU, work perfectly fine, but, as I said, the motherboard's VGA port doesn't work. I have heard that such thing definitely is possible, but I cannot find out what I need to do.

Does anyone have an answer to this?

If my motherboard currently has an intigrated graphics card, but has a PCI-E slot, do I need to do anything special after inserteing my graphics card and installing the drivers, or should it just work right away?

A:How do you switch from an integrated graphics card to an "external" graphics card?

Most modern PCs will detect the new installation of the PCI graphics card and automatically disable the onboard graphics, so yes it should just work.

If for some reason you have problems, you may have to make a change in the bios, I cannot be more specific because each bios is different depending on manufacturer, and model of the motherboard.

Install the card, connect your monitor to it and boot up, when you get into Windows install the driver and reboot.

Hi, I've got this motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP.
I just went looking around the BIOS, and found out how to use my other monitor (connected via VGA port on motherboard) but not how to use both my graphics card and motherboard internal graphics (Graphics card for main display and motherboard display for alternate display) at the same time. I read that some motherboards can do this, and I would think that mine could, due to it being quite a good motherboard, but am I missing something? I can't seem to find it!

And help/answers will be awesome.

PS. the 2nd monitor is ONLY VGA and my graphics card only has ports for HDMI and DVI, I do have an adapter... for HDMI to DVI... Damn...

PSS. If im unclear, ask in the reply section.

Thanks Again!

A:How to use both graphics card and motherboard graphics at once?

Depending on what Graphics Card you have ... You should be able to run two Monitors of the one Card ...

As for using the Internal and another Graphics Card at the same time ...

That is not possible ... Though it is true that your Motherboard supports Switchable Graphics ...

i am new to the "gaming" world and i would like clarification on the difference between a graphics card and a graphics accelerator. On the box for the game , it says "16 mb graphics accelerator".If i already have a Vooodo 2(4mb), can i just get a 16mb video card or do i have to spend a $150 for a graphics accelerator?

A:Graphics card vs graphics accelerator.

There basically the same thing just different names as far as I am concerned. A graphics card accelerates the graphics processing

You need a card with 16meg on board memory, that's low by todays standard, I would get a minimum of 32.

I was wondering is it possible to use onboard graphics from my motherboard and use my graphics card at the same time? Also my motherboard states that the onboard graphics is dependent on the cpu. What exactly does this mean how does my cpu effect the onboard graphics

A:Can I use onboard graphics with graphics card

No, usually one can't use both onboard and add-in graphics adapters, by adding the plug-in card the onboard automatically gets disabled, at least on all the computers I've done it with.

Some newer CPUs do have things combined such as AMD CPUs that include ATI video, usual quick explanation of making things that way is for speed. AMD owns ATI Graphics.

The total memory shown is not your actualy gpu memory,i thought it was something like shared system memory,so no need to worry about that.About your flickering problem, can be due to alot of things.Make sure all your cables are connected tightly, and i would uninstall all your mobo, gpu drivers and get the newest ones, make sure you install directX latest version aswell.

Edit:Nevermind all that, ive just read your other threads and i think the best thing to do is to reinstall windows and start from scratch.

Yet another problem on the wonderful Millennium System (NOT!) as i speak im looking at my desktop, and there are no Icons visible! just the names of the icons, eg. My Computer/My Documents etc etc.. but the Icons are Missing? they have become invisible, this happens regularly, as such at the same time, the word Start for the Start Menu is now just a Grey Oblong, plus all the icons in the start menu have become small smudges, and unrecognisable, together with this as an example, frequently Media Player has the tendancy to blank out and the controls turn and appear white with red X's in place of close/volume/ etc, lastly if i have a browser open, closing it will result in that page being displayed in the media player for instance, Ive set graphics accelerator at all 3 levels none/basic/and full with no difference in this issue

A:BSOD with install of Intel Graphics driver or install of graphics card

I recommend for future reference never to use driver discovery software like Driver Whiz. They have a propensity to install erroneous, buggy and/or outdated drivers. Finding drivers for your hardware should always be done manually.

Anyways, while I don't see any specific pattern for the crashes, I do see at least some of them are during disk I/O. That's when I immediately got suspicious of your Crucial SSD. If you have not already, the very first thing you should do when installing an SSD into a PC is to update your SSD's firmware, followed by your BIOS and any chipset/disk controller drivers. This is necessary as initial SSD firmware often has a habit of causing issues, which frequently is resolved when updating it.

If that all doesn't work, then it's time for some other hardware tests. Start with 7 passes of Memtest86+, followed by Torture Test on Blend for 9+ hours with Prime95. If those don't turn up anything, then replace either your motherboard (most likely culprit) or your SSD drive.
