I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi I have been trying out RC and with a AMD ATI G mobo with realtek HD audio I have tried up to driver version have now will try when at home later I am using speakers from the green analog connection My issue is this I get a static fuzzy sound The sounds still play - but they are not crisp This is particularly noticable within WMC when opening Realtek fuzzy/static sound or closing or using the menus At first it reminded me of what it would sound like in WinXP when the wav slider was set too high so I tried to find a wav slider in Win but I could not Anyways - Realtek sound fuzzy/static XP works fine so I assume Win drivers are my issue I have tried all manners of settings drivers native win and jack swaps Realtek sound fuzzy/static - but the issue remains Can anyone advise me on how to fix this or is this just a wait for better drivers situation Thanks in advance

2.27 seems to have improved the situation.... it's still not crystal clear, but it is tolerable now.

I have an HP pavilion Slimline computer running Windows Vista with a realtec sound card I am trying to use the digital coax output from the realtec sound card to connect to my Roland VS cd music studio recorder s coax input The Roland studio coax requires PCM channel digital input With the current drivers the Realtec supported formats realtec (PCM?) from Coax card, output sound are DTS Audio Dolby Digital and Microsoft WMA Pro Audio Because my roland recorder only accepts PCM format I have set the realtec card options to the needed parameters I E selecting Realtec digital as default matching sample rate of K and Coax output from realtec sound card, (PCM?) setting the format to quot Microsoft WMA Pro Audio quot I thought WMA was a PCM format I still Coax output from realtec sound card, (PCM?) can not get any sound into my Roland recorder My question is Am I doing something wrong or are there any drivers that would make the Realtec card produce PCM digital output And compatable with Vista Very frustrated bought this computer to use in my studio Thanks for any help nbsp

A:Coax output from realtec sound card, (PCM?)

The only audio I know that is for sure, 100% PCM is the PCM audio codec in raw wave. All the formats you mentioned sound like they are being processed but I only work in raw wave PCM so that's the only one I know about for sure, like I already said.

I have the same problem. I think they just didn't give the audio out port proper shielding. For example I hear more static when I'm moving my mouse around. Really disappointing since I wanted to use this for audio editing work.

I have a Creative Sound Blaster Live -bit sound card that was working fine for about a year I put in an old PCI video card that sat right above it in the motherboard in order to have dual monitors At that time the screen resolution that that video card displayed was x Then I got two equal sized monitors and decided to has card fuzzy sound Sound make them both display a resolution of x This is when the problems started When I m listening to music or playing a game whenever something happens on the old PCI video card the sound becomes fuzzy until the PCI video card stops doing whatever it was doing Any activity makes the sound card become fuzzy scrolling a webpage writing text browsing through Sound card has fuzzy sound pictures I assumed it might be because of the PCI card being above the sound card and creating a disruptance of some sort so I switched their places without much change I have not bothered to change the resolution on the PCI video card because I am used to x right now and cannot live with a smaller screen resolution NOTE I only have two PCI slots because one of them is blocked by a fan on the AGP video card that sits above the PCI ports This means that the sound card and PCI video card will always be in close proximity to each other Any suggestions or ideas to fix this problem Thanks Bryce nbsp

Hey all,
I recently bought a Dell Latitude E6410 and my sound card has started putting out a base layer of static. It happens whether I'm plugged in or not, and no matter what I plug into my headphone jack. It seems to get louder whenever I perform actions onscreen, like moving the scrollbar or opening applications, and when I use USB peripherals like my mouse and keyboard. At first, it was just a small nuisance that I could put up with, but lately it's gotten louder and has started to really detract from my music / video experience. I figure it's a problem with my soundcard (or maybe it's just integrated sound? I'm not entirely sure), but I'm hoping to find an internal fix so that I won't have to replace it. Thanks for any help.

Here are my specs:
Dell Latitude E6410

I am getting static from my sound card and have determined it is from interference from my USB plug-in peripherils (ie. printer, fax, etc). I unplug the peripherils and the static goes away. I am suspecting a motherboard grounding problem.
I have physically moved the usb pci cards as far away from the sound card as possible...did not fix the problem.

Thanks in advance.

I've been getting a lot of static in my sound. I used to have a Sound Blaster Live Value sound card. One day, seemingly randomly, I started to hear crackling in the sound. I switched the PCI port that it was in, to no avail.

Thinking that it was the sound card's fault and needing to replace my motherboard anyway, I bought a Soyo Dragon Plus with onboard sound. Now I'm having the same problem, but worse. I've tried the following things, none of which worked:

- Putting in my old sound card (which made the computer freeze once I logged into Win2k)

- Using headphones and switching speakers

- Unplugging random electronic devices that are near the computer

Any ideas? Could the motherboard be bad?

Hey all So I got a new computer a few months ago a custom build and it s basically been awesome thus far except that there s sort of a constant low-level of audio static being produced The little display on the volume control picks it up so it s definitely something that the sound card is detecting rather than a connection problem and anyway it affects both front and rear audio jacks The sound seems to change and grow louder when my Sound picking up Card static computer is doing something display-wise or even just something intensive I ve noticed it quot blink Sound Card picking up static quot with a flashing IM window It s not normally a problem because it s very low volume--however I have some rather low volume music and this makes listening to it a pain Now from some preliminary research I m fairly certain that this is my sound card picking up nearby noise or electrical signals passing around it or something of that nature Sound Card picking up static The relevant computer specs are as follows Intel Core i Quad Processor i - MB CPU Asus P TSE X Core i Motherboard TRIPLE CHANNEL GB x GB DDR- MHZ PC - TB GB SATA rpm MB CACHE nVidia GeForce GT GB DVI HDTV PCI-Express Video Card REALTEK -CHANNEL DIGITAL SOUND ONBOARD I also had them do professional quot round quot wiring which supposedly helps airflow and keeps the inside of the machine neater if that s relevant I spoke with the tech support of the people I bought the computer from and was told that my diagnosis about the sound card picking up noise was more or less correct--but because it s an onboard sound card the only options are buy a separate sound card or replace the whole motherboard which is covered by the warranty but is kind of a lot of trouble and I m not sure if they d cover shipping costs So what I d like to ask all of you is -Are- those the only two options Since the sound card is onboard it can t just be swapped into another slot away from what s making noise I know but is it possible that whatever s making noise can be stopped some other way Should I be concerned about the motherboard anyway assuming that this is an unusual occurrence Does this suggest that there s something amiss with the hardware in general or is it not uncommon for onboard sound cards to have static Is a separate sound card just a good idea in general as someone who dabbles in fan-dubbing and whatnot Thanks for any advice you may be able to offer nbsp

The sound failed a while back for no apparent reason, no new hardware, possibly new software. I installed a pci sound card it worked fine. I just installed a pctv card in the slot my sound occupied. I have tv and no sound. I have updated realtec drivers, the device manager says it's working properly, when I open the audio manager it says its sending sound to the speakers. Please let me know if you have a clue

A:realtec, no sound. vista says no problems

Hi rlamon and welcome to Vista Forums

Are you saying that you have lost sound altogether, or do you still have sound but just not from the TV card? It could be that there is actually nothing wrong with the hardware, only you might have forgotten to connect the audio loop-through cable. Check the bracket of the TV card. Is there a socket on there, similar to your audio sockets, marked Audio Out (or similar)? If there is, you need a patch lead to connect it to your line-in socket. You will then have to activate this socket and set the correct function and levels from within the Realtek interface program.

Hi,

I recently bought new PC and got this Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium sound card with it. Problem with it is that when I try to speak anything there is a quite loud static noise on the background.

My headset is working fine, there are no problems recording with my old PC and if I plug my headset via USB it works fine.

I'm using latest drivers from Creative. Some people suggest trying Daniel_K drivers but I'm not quite sure if this is driver related issue.

A:Sound card causing static noise on microphone

Do you have the Integrated Audio (on the motherboard) disabled in the BIOS? If its still enabled it can cause conflicts with the SoundBlaster. Whether this will cause the noise problem?? but its something to check.

Noise is a major complaint with Win 7 systems. There is no "one fix" for the problems.

If you are using the front panel headphone jack, it could be the routing of the cable to the sound card. Try the rear mic jack on the SoundBlaster card (with and without the front panel HDAudio connection to the sound card) and see if that makes any difference.

Drivers are another issue, but I don't think the Daniel K drivers address any noise problems. Video card/drivers are another area that can cause noise. Wi-Fi controllers and connections are another.

BTW, I just finished a build and tried to use a Corsair H80 cooler but the fans are too loud for my recording studio (the PC build was primarily for a new recording studio PC). I'm now using the stock Intel cooler that came with my i7 3770 CPU and have a "quiet" cooler on order.

Hey, I recent put together this new rig. I'm using the onboard sound card for my Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Rev 2.0 mobo. The sound chipset is Realtek ALC889. I've updated the latest drivers, but there is crackling/static noise when I play music.

Currently I mainly use a 2.1 speaker system. But Ive tried testing it with headphones the static/crackling noises persists. It is not constant, but it shows up periodically. Furthermore, when there is no music/sound playing the noise is not there. This leads me to believe its a hardware/driver issue and not so much a speaker/interference issue.

I'm stumped on this and any help would be appreciated, the noise is annoying.

A:Realtek onboard sound card: Static/Crackling noises

Do you have a wireless (wi fi) connection? They have been known to cause this. A cordless phone or cell phone sitting close by is also a potential. Video card/drivers have also been another issue.

There are many possibilites and many forum posts about this problem, here, on the Dell users forum and other internet computer forums. No "one fix" for the problem.

Hey guy, I have an annoying problem with my Steelseries 7H headset. When I connect my headset to my sound card via front panel, I hear static background noises like when I scroll the mouse, I can actually hear it in my headset speakers, its very low and staticy but I can hear it, when I turn up all the volume, the static is clearly there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also my case is an Antec 300.

A:Static background noises with my headset plugged in to sound card

Probably find it is due to poor or no shielding in the cables from the front panel to the card, a common occurrence in a lot of cases. One way to test is with the headset plugged into the front jacks, move the cable inside around and listen if the static becomes less.

No resolution but one of the people in this thread,

Front Panel Audio Problems - Audio-Technology - Audio

had the same problem. You can see from this,

shield front panel audio cable - Google Search

that it is a fairly common problem.

By the way do you get the same static when you connect the headset directly to the card? If not that is also a good indication of poor shielding in the front panel cable (and hopefully not in the front panel itself). If it comes down to it you could always try this,

How-To: Front Panel Audio Noise Reduction

to shield the cable and see if that reduces or stops the static.

Hello,
I have recently bought a secon hand Asus m2n-e sli mo'bo, from a friend.
All was going well, everything was set up with drivers from origional discs.

While playing a game (lost plannet: Extreeme condidtion) my pc crashed and reset itself. Since then i have been unable to get any sound, when sound is played it just makes a static sound. The only slight bit of sound i can hear is when playing the speaker test program in C-media. I can hear the voice slightly under the static sound.

I have tryed:
>All ports.
>Rolling back drivers.
>Latest C-media drivers from Asus.
> Ac97 drivers.

>Sound card:I tryed to use a Creative Audigy Soundblaster (X-Fi XtremeGamer). After inserting into my mobo my computer failed to boot, or even reach bios.

If anyone could provide answers/solution to either of my problems I would be very greatfull.

Thanks Craig

Any one had a problem with the sound becoming "fuzzy", sort of like it is overmodulating. this started a couple of months ago. Makes no difference whether the source if from a hard drive (mp3 or other audio file) or direct from a dvd or cd drive. ANY audio. I bought a new set of speakers, no differenct. I just bought a new sound card, disabled the onboard sound device and installed the new card, same problem. I have absolutely no other problems with the system and I wonder if there could be some wierd problem with the motherboard? I also have reloaded all of the sound drivers and there are no updates

It's really no big deal but I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on why they do this. I don't believe that its anything with my computer, but I've tried a few things and nothings worked. There Altec Lansing VS.2121. Its just two speakers with a subwoofer and they cost about 50-60 dollars i believe.
I'm getting some more ram and maybe a graphics cards for christmas should I add a sound card to the list too?

A:Speakers Make A Fuzzy Sound

Well, a sound card won't hurt any! It'll do you good, but I don't think that this will fix the problem.

Have you tried relocating your speakers? Move them to a different spot, and make sure that they're not near any power cords, or any type of cords for that matter. The speaker wire themselves might be picking up interference from a power cord or another cord. Cordless phones have been known to interfere with some speakers (only happened to me once though). You might have to move your speakers more than once, and don't forget to move your subwoofer.

Hope this helps! Let us know how you made out with this.

Hey can anyone help me with a sound problem i am having? Every time i turn up my volume it goes fuzzy and i can hear ticking noises. When i move my mouse around it generates a buzzing sound. My amplifier is ok, what else could it be?

A:computer sound is fuzzy when i turn it up

It's sounds like interference affecting the wires of the speakers or the wire to the sound card, try moving them around and be sure the connectors are secure and dirt free.

Hey, Im trying to record my voice using a headset plugged into the back of my pc (front doesnt work) but when i play it back there is crackling or fbuzziness whenever i spoke...
i got a new headset (from creative) but i still hear the buzzing on playback.
its a new motherboard as well, M4n72-e, with no added soundcards so it could be i dont have a soundcard, however my old computer was fine with playback without any soundcards either (a8nsli deluxe)
and because its new, i doubt its a connection problem to the back of my pc either...
any other music is perfectly fine when playing.
thanks for any suggestions

A:recorded sound fuzzy on playback

Probably from recording volume too "hot" or loud, inducing digital distortion. Try lowering input level.

Hi, I have a Gateway laptop and the speakers are crackling, and it also happens when I connect outside speakers to the computer. This has just started happening since we moved. Could it have something to do with that? Thanks!

A:fuzzy, crackling sound from speakers

Oh it could possibly the sound card is broke. Or it needs new drivers. Wish I had an idea which sound card it is exactly.

Stumbled upon this trying to fix my static and it helped it out a bit, not 100% though but thought i would share it.

Anyways;

goto your playback devices > click your speaker properties > advanced > and change the default format to a higher setting, such as 24 bit, 48000hz (studio quality)

thats it, and of course you can play around; if you have an alright sound-system you can tweak your eq. settings and such to compensate for playback quality.

I've had this windows seven laptop for a year and it's been fine until about a few days ago when I was watching youtube the sound went all fuzzy and then extreme lag followed. Closing the lid and putting it to sleep for 10 minutes and shutting it down would solve the problem for a while but it would always come back.

I know there have been other posts like this one but it seems like its as if other people arent getting the lag as bad. Also the soloutions provided don't really help. So i want to know

1. The soloution.
2. The cause because my parents think its me and they're pissed.

A:fuzzy sound, massive lag and high cpu usage

Hi! terzho, welcome to 7F

Optimize Windows 7
Pay particular attention to numbers's:
2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 18, 19, 28, 30, 31

For solution #2:

A:Solved: Sound fuzzy, distorted and crackly

I'm no sound engineer, but....
I think you/he may have overloaded the circuitry. You/he should have connected to the Line In socket NOT the Microphone. The internal resistances and impedences are different. The Microphone socket is basically designed to get a very low signal from an unpowered source. The line in socket is designed for amplified/powered input.
Methinks you/he blew it. Sorry!! Time for a trip to a Computer Fair

changed integrated sound card for Sound Blasster Live but it is not working right. It shows up in the device mnager, but when I go to Start>>Settings>>Control Panel>>Sounds & Audio Devices, it shows that there is NO AUDIO DEVICES.....why. I am running Windows XP Pro, on a P4-1.8, which has an Asus motherboard model P4S333.

A:changed integrated sound card for Sound Blasster Live but it is not working right

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

First. Go into your bios, and disable your onboard sound, and save and exit bios.

Once your computer has booted up, go into contol panel, and double click the sounds and audio devices icon.

Click on the audio tab, and set the sound playback device to your new soundcard.

Do the same for the sound recording device. Click on the voice tab and do the same. Click apply/ok.

Make sure you have the correct drivers installed for your new soundcard, and that your speakers are plugged into the new soundcard.

Hi I recently purchased the Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX and am having problems getting it to actually play any audio or record any sound I've browsed playback/recording no Blaster Sound Creative Audigy Card, Sound FX other threads with similar issues on this board and as such have disabled my motherboards onboard audio in my BIOS settings have reinstalled the drivers from disc Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX Sound Card, no playback/recording and from the Creative website and even attempted to use Driverpack Online to download any missing drivers However my problem still persists I can see that the Sound Blaster Audigy FX is present on the sound option on the control panel but it never actually plays any sound Additionally whenever I try to play a test sound in the speakers advanced properties I am returned with the error quot Failed to play test tone quot I've included a few screenshots that might help make things a bit more clear and I'd be very appreciative of any help I can get with this issue Specifications Audio under Speccy The playback menu speaker properties and the error I am returned with when I attempt to test the speakers Recording menu

A:Creative Sound Blaster Audigy FX Sound Card, no playback/recording

First thing, I assume you have correctly attached your speakers to the new SoundBlaster.

As you have a separate sound card, did you disable any on-board (on the motherboard) audio in the BIOS? If not, that is the first step. The on-board, is still enabled, can conflict with the SoundBlaster.

Also, temporarily disable the AMD HD audio in the Device Manager for testing (the AMD is for HDMI audio). Reboot after doing this.

Finally, although this has may not have any affect on playback, the default recording device should be the SoundBlaster "What You Hear". In the Recording sound panel, RIGHT click in an empty area and then check to show Disconnected and Disabled devices. If the SoundBlaster was installed correctly What You Hear should now show up and you can enable it and make it the default recording device.

my lenovo laptop was running fine but all of a sudden the sound started twist bugging (sound sound card?) out laptop strange + freaking out and about every laptop sound bugging out + strange twist (sound card?) second or so the sound would cut out and cut back in ex im playing a video and the people are talking but it sounds like quot th--- is h--- fin---- compu---- quot or something like that the weird part is the speakers arent working but when i plug in my headphones sound starts working out of the speakers while the headphones are plugged in with no sound coming out of the headphones and thats pretty strange but it gets stranger pretty much anything plugged into the audio jack would make the speakers start working even if it is just an adapter for another thing and not even a headphone so i checked the sound in the control panel and i said that it quot could not detect sound card restart and it will try to find it quot or something so i restarted and the problem still happened but this time the control panel says that quot your device is working properly quot when its obviously not ive looked on the microsoft support page and followed the instructions no help lenovo support no help ive tried running a troubleshoot on the audio playback but it said that it could not detect the problem ive checked the device manager and under the video sound and game controllers it has listed quot Conexant SmartAudio HD quot and quot Intel R Display Audio quot and they both are listed as quot working properly quot nope im guessing one of these is the integrated audio processor because laptops dont normally have quot sound cards quot but the they do have the above not sure what to do ive consulted some of my more tech minded friends and they consistently say its probably an audio card error but dont know how to fix it sigh hopefully i can get some help here

Hi,
I'm working on husband's pc, it is an HP Media Ctr. set up. Pavilion 4100e. We had to do a System Restore when pc was over run with virus/trojan infections. SR resulted in some lost Driver/Controller files, including ethernet and sound card. I have recovered all Driver/Controller files-- and everything is working except for sound.

I have uninstalled Creative Audigy Audio Processor (through Device Manager) and reinstalled (through Found New Hardware). I have run dxdiag, only to find "device cannot start" under problem devices/sound card.

Any suggestions on how to get this to work again? I cannot use System Restore to go back to when it was working, because that would take me back to all the virus/trojan infections and nothing was working.

Any help would be appreciated~

Thanks,

Tricia

ThePRedicate,
Can you see the sound card in the Device Manager in System Properties?

Did this problem start recently or since the installation of XP? Did you get sound at anytime earlier(even on other OSes)?

It was that Windows XP search dog. When you ctrl + f to open the search side bar in a window there is an animated dog that seems innocuous. Every 15 minutes or so it will scratch itself and make that noise twice. As long as that search side bar is open, minimized or not, that noise will persist.

A:distorted sound in vista/createiv x-fi titanium sound card

I had a Creative X-Fi XtremeMusic in my rig and I constantly had distorted audio - manifesting in the form of 'crackly', echoing sounds. Really frustrating, I tried all kinds of solutions including a clean uninstall of the audio drivers, replugging the sound card in a different PCI slot, etc. For a while everything would be fine, and then back into crunchy-sound-land...

My rig used to have Windows XP Pro as the OS, and the sound card worked perfectly. It was only after I changed the OS to Vista that the woes began.

This is probably not the solution you want to hear, but after 2 years of despair I flogged the card on eBay and bought myself an Auzen X-Fi Prelude 7.1 card. Although that is still an X-Fi it works beautifully in Vista, absolutely no problem with the sound since.

Seeing that you have posted in the Hardware Sound Forum, where you will be more than likely able to get a solution to your problem, I am closing this thread.
The reason for this is, that multiple posting about the same issue tends to confuse the issue; especially when they are in two different forums.
Not many of the Windows Tech Team Members venture into the Sound Forum, and vis-a-vis with the Hardware Tech team.

The problem might just be the new board, it may not support the sound card, or maybe it really isn't plugged in all the way.

Happened to me with my Firewire card took me forever to put the dump thing in I keep pushin and pushin, but not to hard because you'll break the card and you don't want to do that.

so just keep pushin slowly it may look like it is in but it probably really isn't

I hope creative can help you with your problem.

I recently purchased a 5 1/4" multimedia panel for my computer. Their are 4 ports on the front for hooking up mic and speakers (left, right, center) but the pins to hook to my motherboard or sound card are single pins. I have a ATI Diamond 7.1 channel sound card with 2 standard ports for hooking up other sources for sound. I have no manual for the card and unable to find anything online on how to hookup the individual pins to my sound card. Can anyone help??

A:Connecting sound pins from front panel to sound card

I can't find any detailed information. In any case, I don't know why you would want separate speaker outputs on the front panel. Most of the bay panels I've seen have standard features like mic in, headphone out, and misc other connections like USB, Firewire, etc.. I've not seen any with individual (ie: left speaker, right speaker, center speaker) connections, and it would clutter your front panel having all of the those cables hanging.

I'm looking to buy the Creative Lab Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum eX sound card, but I'm not sure how compatible it is with my current system, which is an HP Pavilion 7960. It says you need an available adjacent slot to the PCI card for the Audigy extension, which I don't know what it means.

Also, I saw a picture of it online and I see that it comes with two cards and a black box. I figure that one card is supposed to be the actual sound card, and the other is this mysterious Audigy extension. But what is the black box?

I tried installing the driver again fom DFI and to no success, now when I went to install the drive again, I got an error saying that this device isnt approved by Windows, could windows be preventing my audio card from working?

A:How can I get sound output from sound card when streaming video?

Hello green,

You get sound from your microphone? I don't think I am understanding. Sound should come from your sound card. You plug the speakers into the back of the computer and into the sound card (green jack). The mic receives sound. My mic is USB so it doesn't use any jack other than the USB port, but if you use the sound card, it goes into the purple jack

Do you have the audio driver installed? This should be right: http://support.acer.com/product/defa...x?modelId=2192

Hey Grimreaper!

Sounds like you have a killer setup for sound. (I won't say what I'm using ).

If it were me and the onboard sound system is working great, then I'd stay with the onboard system. If you change your mind in the future, you can always add the external back in.

Best of luck with your new mobo

First, let me say that I am a sound novice! I recently started a vinyl ripping project. My onboard sound does not support 24 bit depth recording at 96 kHz sampling rate, so I purchased an external USB card with phono preamp. It works just fine for my project. But as long as external sound card is plugged into a USB port, it takes control of all sound. I'd like to be able to toggle back to my onboard audio when I'm not ripping vinyl so I can listen through my system speakers. I have experimented with Windows audio controls, but have not found a way to do this. Is it possible?

A:Sound not working unless i disable and the enable sound card

If only a few months old it may have a defect. Normally parts should last for years and not change in a few months.Still, to eliminate a possible software issue, use the system restore to go back to a earlier time. Try two days back, then four days and so on until you find the critical point where something was changed.IMO you must report this to Dell as soon as possible.

I have given up on getting a good 5.1 or 7.1 sound system for my pc since it requires a receiver and all.

What I am looking for right now is a 2.1 sound system that can be directly plugged in to my Asus Xonar D2X sound card. The system should have a really decent subwoofer with tight and deep bass. As for the speakers, they should be able to produce crisp sound at high volume.

My current sound system can no longer handle high pitch sound without the buzzing
I am no expert in this matter, but I've been looking around a lot with no luck.
No real budget limitation, if its worth it I will get it

Thanks in advance,

You could look at something from Audioengine, M-Audio, or the Klipsch 2.1 system. Read plenty of reviews though. I know you want 2.1, but if I were buying now I'd probably go with the M-Audio Studiophile AV 40.

My 2 cents.

I installed a internal sound card months ago when my original ports on my PC stopped working. Just recently sound started coming from my monitors built in speakers and not my sound card.
I purchased a new sound card to no avail. I still get static and no sound and control panel says device is working properly.
What is going on it has to be something simple I am looking over.
Help please.
Thanks
Dave

A:motherboard sound not working, sound card not recognize, help please

It sounds as though the driver for the sound card doesnt work on windows 7. Also I think that the driver for the motherboard audio will most likely not work either. It is hard to find drivers for windows 7 because hardly any one is using it yet. Have a look for your sound card drivers and see if they are ok to be used on windows 7.

Ok so i installed Windows Server 2008 R2 onto my Dell Optiplex 745. I tried installing the Vista 64 bit drivers and everything worked like it is supposed to, checked under device manager and it says it's installed fine, but the volume icon in the tray still has an X over it. When you hover over, it says "no audio device installed"

ADI 198x Integrated on-board sound card

Any ideas?

The title says it all. I recently started playing Medal of Honor and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and on both games I get a frozen screen with looping audio which forces me to shut the computer down via the power button.

after doing some searching around on the net and trying various solutions, I have determined the next step is to disable on board sound. I know this sounds like a noobish question but, is there any way to get sound out of my computer? is there a BIOS setting that allows me to disable the on board sound but still get sound out my PC? these 2 games rely heavily on being able to hear what is going on,

I have an ABIT IP35 Pro with no secondary sound card.

thanks.

A:Can I get audio if I turn onboard sound off without a sound card?

No that'd be impossible. if you turn off the onboard sound, how are you gonna get some sound delivered to your speaker or headphone?

you should try disabling the onboard sound and check if it fixes the issue. if it did, also try to uninstall your current audio driver and install the newest one.

looping audio does not always means the onboard sound is faulty. it usually goes on loop because that portion of the soundtrack is already loaded into RAM. therefore it still plays even when the computer froze.

the problem might lies in other thing such as video card or overheating CPU since you indicate it only occurs when you're playing games.

I recently built a PC using a XFX nforce 790i ultra motherboard, with an onboard realtek sound card.

I have the latest audio drivers, however the onboard sound card outputs all audio through the microphone jack, with added interference. The headphone jack that the sound is supposed to come through, stays silent.

Am I going to have to resort to buying a sound card, or is there some alternative?

I'm running vista 32-bit.

Thanks

A:Sound card outputs sound through the microphone jack

solved: I'd plugged the front speaker/mic into the wrong part of the motherboard. Rereading the motherboard manual showed me the correct socket.

I have put the sound card into my computer and made sure that I've hooked up everything correctly, but I have ran into a problem with it. When I ran the download "Product Identification Module Update" from the Creative website, it's telling me that I don't have the right OS, and tells me to update to Windows 7 or later versions. Well, my problem is that I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit, which I know is plenty new, and I don't understand why it's not letting me download the update/driver for the sound card. Please do help if you are able to

Hi,

I am running Windows XP on a Intel Gigabyte 925 motherboard with onboard sound (CM9880) and 5.1 AOpen Surround sound speakers

The motherboard CD comes with drivers for both Microsofts UAA architecture as well CMedia.

The problem is that when I run the sound tests with the CMedia configuration utility all 5 of my surround sound speakers play at the correct times showing that they do work. The problem is this is the only place they work. The dont work when I play games or listen to music through various sound programs such as Windows Media Player. Here only 2 speakers work. Not all 5, some please help?

Is there and updated driver that I need to get for my onboard sound card fro Windows XP and if so from where

Thanks

Mark.

Hello!

I got a new sound card today. Installed it, installed the drivers from the CD, plugged in the headphones and it works. But the sound levels are way to low. I raised the volume in all the places I could find, but it's still a bit low.

Here's the card: Creative Sound Blaster 5.1 VX Sound Card - Quality 5.1 surround audio

Here are my headphones: Philips - Stereo Headphones Deep bass - SHP2000/97 - Indoor - Headphones - Accessories

I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

A:Low volume with new sound card(Creative Sound Blast 5.1 VX)

1. Since you are using a separate sound card and not the on the motherboard audio, disable that in the BIOS. If its enabled it can conflict and cause problems.

Are you plugging into the Speaker jack on the card or do you have it connected to the front panel in the case. If you are connecting to the front panel headphone jack, plug the headphone into the Speaker jack on the card and see if there is any difference.

Try the headphones in a different computer to check the volume level. If its low on another computer then the headphones are the problem.

A:Sound card drivers show as working but still no sound

Let's start by right clicking the speaker icon in your system tray and select playback devices from the options...right clik on the speakers and set as default. You can select to disable the independent headphone jacks if the speakers are plugged to the sound card. Then clik on properties and go to the levels tab at top. Set the slider to 100%. Go back to the playback devices window and select Configure button. Test the individual speakers by clicking on them one at a time.
