good and trustworty website to download drivers

Q: good and trustworty website to download drivers

Does anybody know a good and trustworthy website to download the latest drivers of a device (other than the manufacturer's website). The driver of the device i'm looking for isn't on the manufacturer's website and Windows Update sometimes doesn't update all the hardware to the latest.

Preferred Solution: good and trustworty website to download drivers

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: good and trustworty website to download drivers

softpedia.com often has device drivers. When you say it's not on the manufacturers website, do you mean Acer's website, or the device manufacturers website? For example, if you are looking for your Radeon video card driver, Acer may not have the newest version available, or might not have 7 version at all. But ATI's website will have it, if it exist.

Obviously, if it is a popular enough product, I'm sure that the manufacturer's website will provide the driver. However, when I install Everest and it tells me that the chipset is a nForce 6100-405 and I can't find it on nVidia's website, is there a general driver website that I can use for those kind of situation?

A:A good website to download all drivers?

P.S. I just found the nForce 6100-405 on nVidia's site in the legacy section. Still, the question is still there. Is there a good website to find all drivers?

Hi dkemp,

Oddly enough, the UK site does appear to have some issue. I'll get this to the right people. For now, it looks like the US driver side is still available. Hopefully this will help you for now.

Hi, I really need to update my Asus k8v-se deluxe drivers, but there are about 1901032424 drivers and i have no idea which one to get. I need basically the "package", i guess you'd call it.

for the first part put motherboard, for the second part choose socket 754, and for model, select k8v-se deluxe. Please help me out.

A:NEED Help updating mobo drivers. have the website but dont know what to download!!!!!

What drivers do you need? Sound, video, bios. Just scroll down the drivers page and pick the new drivers you need. Just make sure they are 32 bit if you are running a 32 bit operating system or 64 bit if you are running XP64bit. Just a note, the beta drivers aren't fully tested yet and might not be as stable as the last version.

This is what happens when I tried to download ANYTHING from Microsoft (most of them are free applications):

I've tried to uninstalled silverlight and re-installed it. I've also tried with updating graphic driver, ran in IE with no adds-on, but they didn't help. Has anyone seen this problem before? It's annoying me so bad.

Thanks for reading this.

Greetings This is a general question for a fresh install of Windows on a computer Let's say we just completed the installation and we open up Device Manager we haven't used Windows Update yet Device Manager shows us that there are - let's say quot quot - devices that do not have drivers installed for them If we visit the computer manufacturers website though they'll have - let's say quot quot Windows Installed OEM - General Website Drivers Question Vs Drivers - different drivers to download If we only install the quot quot drivers for the devices that Windows couldn't find drivers for are we hurting our computing performance by not installing the other quot quot drivers that were available on the manufacturers website This is just good to know in general because I've faced this situation with every install of Windows since I began computing General Question - Windows Installed Drivers Vs OEM Website Drivers with Windows But the reason I'm asking now is because the nincompoops at Acer - despite me entering my serial number - still offer me every possible driver for my model including drivers for hardware that's not in my computer Windows - of course - can't identify the hardware so I'm ready to rip out the last little bit of hair on my head Thanks

A:General Question - Windows Installed Drivers Vs OEM Website Drivers

Some manufacturers offer an utility that helps you identify what stuff you have in the laptop, I think Acer did.
You can also try the hardware-detection program this forum has, this tutorial

Also check the driver version, as some manufacturer list multiple driver versions and you only need the latest (usually, otherwise take the last version that works).

Also, installers of these drivers usually look up the hardware IDs of the hardware and if they don't detect anything that could benefit from them will abort installation. Some instead install anyway and you will have some drivers you won't need, but won't cause any issue as again Win7 knows that they don't match any hardware ID, and will leave them alone.

So, you may have noticed that I am talking of Hardware IDs, that are basically each device's own "calling card" integrated in each device, you can identify the hardware by looking up its hardware ID and then searching it on Google to convert that code into a human-readable device model and brand.

Open device manager, right-click on an unknown device, click on "properties", then go in the "details" tab of its properties panel from Device Manager, click on the drop-down menu and select "Hardware IDs". right-click on the codes you get on the text panel below it and select copy, then search the code on Google to identify the device.

hi, can somebody tell me that drivers for AGP cards with ref to nvidia available on nvidia's own website are better to use or ones available on 3rd party websites are betters. For instance now a days the latest version of driver available on nvidia's website is 81.98, however, on some other sites e.g www.guru3d.com, latest version of driver i.e later version then 81.98 is available for nvidia cards. So my question is: is it better to go with the one available on nvidia's own site or the other one????

thnx :grinthumb

A:Are nvidia's own website drivers better or third party drivers???

I only use the WHQL drivers on Nvidia's site. Newer versions may just be beta versions or modified (hacked) drivers.

Upgrade windows 7 to 8: This is what is on the Microsoft website

Windows 8 Pro Upgrade - Student Offer Student price ?49.99 incl. VAT
Windows 8 Pro N Upgrade - Student Offer Student price ?49.99 incl. VAT
This has the letter N which must stand for something but the description is the same so is the price

Windows 8 Pro ?189.99 incl. VAT
There is no upgrade price for this from Windows 7. Also some products say upgrade from XP or Vista. Seems Windows 7 is not upgradable.

The website is rubbish for product selling and there is no information about lists of shops on the hi street in the UK to buy from but I have heard that PC world is one. Who are the others.

I enjoy watching Streaming websites for movies and shows, and while usually the websites themselves aren't bad they can lead to some pretty malicious websites and ads. I did use malwarebytes free website blocker but my trial ran out and now I need new protection. Is there any recommended software or extensions i can use?

A:Looking for good malicious website and ad blockers

I would use uBlock Origin (for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and even Opera). It's an efficient and light-weight adblocker, but it also blocks more than ads (it's a content blocker). If you are a more advanced user, you can use uMatrix (from the same author), which gives you more granular control over what you allow and don't allow on websites (scripts, frames, etc).https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm?hl=enhttps://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/ublock/?display=en

Hey all,

i am doing a portfolio for my uni coursework and i want to upload some videos on to my website. Atm my videos range from 500 - 700 mb and obviously when i res them down i am sure the size will reduce. The only thing i am concerned about is the sound quality.

The videos i am going to upload are films that i have made music/sound for so obviously i want the audio quality to be superb.

are there any softwares out there that can res down/compress video without affecting the audio quality

Thanks

Aaron

A:A good video compressor for a website

Videos are already compressed. That's what a codec (compressor-decompressor) does.

The only way to make them smaller is to re-encode them with a different codec and/or reduce the video and sound quality. But to keep the same quality, even using a different codec will not make much dofference, and you have to have the right format for the site.

Fastest map-stacked minerals atleast 8 or 10 miners then start building men get atleast 10 men b4 starting to mass build unit building buildings. Get more miners as you build more buildings

On the VH1 website they have episodes from many different VH1 shows. Many of these shows are 60 minutes in length.

I tried using RealPlayer but RealPlayer doesn't work.

RealPlayer allows me to download only the first 10 or 20 seconds of a video. The first 10 or 20 seconds of the video is a commercial advertisement from Target or some other store. I cannot download a vh1 video using RealPlayer, I tried many times with no luck. I guess VH1 blocks RealPlayer, it seems.

A:How do you download a video from vh1.com's website?

Try it again. The ad and the actual video are separate downloads. So wait until the ad is finished and the video starts before hitting the download button. It should work unless it's DRM protected and Real Player will tell you if it isn't downloading.

The general download of Windows 7 was removed when it was released to manufactures in August, I believe. You can still download the 90 Day Enterprise evaluation -=> Here

Anyway I noticed the last few days I don't always enter the selected webite from google and i always get the 'trusted website' speel as if I have problems. I noticed on Monday i could not access my trading platform or download anything properly. It gets to 99% and won't finish downloading. Scary as I deleted Trend Micro to attempt to download antivir personal and it won't finish downloading (stuck on 99%). Hope someone can help. Thx.

Hi

When I am on the page
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2592687 use the link for downloading "Download the Update for Windows 7 SP1 for x64-based systems package now." I end up on a page where I can push "Download". When I push it I end up on a page
with "Thank you for downloading" but nothing happens. There is a line with "If your download does not start after 30 seconds,
Click here" - if I do I end up on a page
where it is listed:
This page can?t be displayed

Turn on TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 in Advanced settings and try connecting to
https://download.microsoft.com again. If this error persists, contact your site administrator.
TLS 1.0, TLS 1.1, and TLS 1.2 are all selected.

Anybody having an advice on what to do to get in touch with the file I want to download.

Ideal would be to: Enter the URL> select images only> download all images from site into a folder. The site I am working with uses frames. I have a few apps, and the Chrome Ext, but the site has so many pages/frames it is near impossible to keep track without an all encompassing app.

The images are simply needing to be counted for what shows up on the user/browser side.

Thanks!

A:How do I download images from a website within frames?

Ace Winscreen will copy anything on screen, and it has a free version.

Depends how many you're dealing with whether this is a realistic option, though.

I recently upgraded this old Dell M Vista x laptop to Windows Enterprise x Apparently the sound company for it Sigmatel went out of business before Windows was even released and their latest drivers are some ancient Vista drivers Should I download and install the Sigmatel drivers or continue to use the drivers that come with Windows They seem to be fine so far just seeing if there's any Windows old drivers the download or drivers? the I keep Should other input on this Do you think that the Windows drivers would probably be better based on Should I download the old drivers or keep the Windows drivers? the fact that they're much newer and made to run in regardless of the fact that it wasn't made for my system specifically All I've ever really cared about is what has the best maximum output levels I really hate sound drivers that are very limited in how loud you can make them output My old laptop this M is actually better than my current Origin beast laptop in terms of sound because the sound driver on my new laptop Realtek doesn't allow very much loudness at all on a set of headphones The only reason I ever liked the Sigmatel drivers is because they let you turn up the volume until it's so loud it could blow your ears and your speakers out Or perhaps it's hardware and has nothing to do with the drivers I dunno I'm too stupid Point is drivers that came with my system that aren't designed to work with this OS or go with the Win default drivers

A:Should I download the old drivers or keep the Windows drivers?

There is a saying, "if it's not broke, don't fix it" so I would stick with the working one. You could save the old driver as a backup.

Hi: You should be able to use all of the W8.1 drivers and software from the 15z-af000 model on yours, as it has the same hardware. I would not use any of the BIOS or firmware files though. http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-15-af000-Notebook-PC-series/7771410/model/8341291 I do not work for or represent HP, but I will report the missing drivers issue for your model to the HP Support Forum Administrators, who will contact the department responsible for maintaining the driver pages. But in the meantime, those drivers from that other model will work just fine on yours.

Hi, It looks like I need some drivers for my internal 56K dialup modem, since my Windows 7 doesn't have them. It's an old modem and needs the old drivers, I guess. Since it is an Askey Computer Corporation modem, I searched for a download from the Askey website. They don't even mention downloads. So I will have to deviate from the prime directive of only downloading drivers from the mfr website! I see there are a bunch of websites that say they have what I need, including model number, fcc number, Askey brand name and everything. Websites like modemdriver.com, driverguide.com, nodevice.com, modem-drivers.com, driverzone.com, download.cnet.com and more. Is one of these sites better than the others? Will I be taking a chance of getting bloatware or worse in the download? I would think CNET would be the safest site. Opinions, advice? Thanks

A:Where to Obtain Drivers when Mfr Website has none?

Cnet requires installing their software and still can have bloatware.
Might be better off buying a new model that comes with Win 7 drivers.

Most of the driver sites will list what they tell you is out of date and that they have the drivers but that is not always the case and in all of those sites I've seen you have to pay for their drivers.

If you are unable to get them from Toshiba ( I am sure you must be able to if you persist, maybe even chatting with one of their service techs) you could try the free site www.driverguide.com You must register to use the site but it is free.

Ok so what i need is a download manger or something that will say get all the .pdf files from a website, even if it has to follow link down several layers.

What i need it for is people will ask use to print plans or projects from websites, but they have each part stored in different 'folders', and on one particular one you have to click on each file name, then it takes you to a new page what it says, click here to download. Saving 50 files individually is not something we want to do.

I have used flashget in the past, but it wont go and get all the files, just the ones that are directly linked from the web address i give it.

Anyone have an idea where to get a piece of software, preferably free , that does that.

A:Need a download manager that will get all of a certain file type off a website

What you are talking about is called spidering, and
some websites have become savvy to software that tries to do what you wish to do, building in blocks agains spiders or "bots".

I cannot vouch for any spider software currently available; the one package I once used, years ago, I think was for Win98.

Use Google and you will find some possibilities though.
Some have shareware options, which others will allow a try before you buy download.

I'd like to get a good download manager program to be used primarily for music only. I don't need alot of fancy bells and whistles, just something so that I can line up 50-100 songs and walk away from the computer until they are finished. I've been downloading 2 songs at a time and that is beginning to get old.

A free download manager would be best, provided that it doesn't come with adware, spyware, or any other unpleasant surprises.

Any helpful suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

are you looking for the amount in Hours or Bytes? There are quite a few internet counters out there that record the hours, minutes and seconds you have ben online. Google "online timer" and you will find a ton of these

However if you want to find a program to recoard how many bytes your computer receves in a week, I have never heard of one. May I ask why you need to keep track of it and I may be able to suggest differnt ways to go about retreving that kind of information without added programs

A:Reinstalling drivers from dell website

I don't know where you went for drivers on Dell however you could go from here after entering the information you should only be given a choice of the drivers your machine requires.
There are ways to check which driver you have installed now but it's just as easy to download them and run the installation executable.
One of two things will occur.
The driver will install or update the existing driver, if it asks if you want to remove the older driver first (for any of them) answer yes, the old one is removed, usually it will reboot and then proceed with the new installation.
OR
The driver is not required or not the correct one so it will advice you that it won't install as it's not the right one.
In any event I think it highly unlikely you would disrupt anything doing this. Don't forget to backup and\or set a restore point before doing anything.

Hi, I'm replacing a motherboard and have been careful to select one that uses (what I believe to be) a compatible chipset to my last one. (nforce/nvidia).

In my obsession to find one with all the compatible chipset, CPU socket, DDR etc I completely forgot about support for my operating system (Windows 7).

I've bought the board on ebay and awaiting it's arrival so I can get on with swapping it over and restoring my machine back to its former glory, but it is second hand with no drivers or set up disc. I would normally be cool with that as I know I could get the drivers on the manufacturers web site, but in this case, it only goes up to VISTA on the manufacturers site

Hey guys,
I finally got a pop-up ive been wanting for a few months now. It is one of those fake virus scanning websites trying to run a fake scan (just a .gif picture) and it tells me to download their AV.
Ya let me get right to that! REALLY!
I want to download, not install to my main computer, but just download the installation files to transfer to my old sandbox comptuer. This will be my first attemt at this, and i just wanted peoples input on what you think of this?

Am i alright to download this? A second opinion never hurts. Cant know everything. Damn hard pill to swollow haha!

Thanks everyone,
Ben

A:Infected website, download fake AV for testing. Safe?

Well, if you're going to let it run its course to see what it does, make sure that the computer is completely isolated with ZERO and I mean ZERO information on it.

Also, keep in mind that not only can this sort of thing mess with your software, but in rare cases it can kill hardware if it's really horrid.

Every time I log into this site, my Spybot S&D Residence warns me that there's a known harmful download called "Avenue A, Inc." that wants to download. This just started happening last night. Is this place infected now?!?!? Anyone know what the heck "Avenue A, Inc." is, and why it keeps asking me to block the download?

A:Every time I visit this forum or website I get a download warning.

Avenue A is an advertising cookie, it is a tracking cookie but is harmless....you can set SpyBot to exclude it, or keep it detected and clean it when you run SS&D. The site owner himself has answered this question, which comes up fairly often....
It is not a harmful hijacking thing, just a harmless cookie. It apparently is from a sponsor of this site.
However...some people claim to have other thoughts::
and fixes....

So not too long ago I wanted to go ahead and grab a copy of FileZilla and put it on my machine Unfortunatley for Virii Trojans Download Website CNet FULL / of me FileZilla has it's download hosted on the Download Cnet website I very carefully followed the link - and clicked on download for file zilla However and unfortunately since I do not frequent the website that much - I clicked on the Wrong download button and it put the most evil root kit on my machine I Download CNet Website FULL of Virii / Trojans have ever bleep seen This bullbleep even went in and deleted all of my saved system restore points I had over yes I allocated extra space just so I could accommodate more of them Yet this rootkit swept that under the rug easily bleep you very much I did find the correct link to download and install File Zilla However I had a huge nasty piggy backer along with it This is the bullbleep I am talking about Why do I even have to go through this bullbleep worry about what download link I am clicking on ON AN OFFICIAL DOWNLOAD SITE This Official download site purposely allows this kind of bullbleep on their site - and I would not be surprised if the moderators themselves are the culprits for allowing such bullbleep to happen DO NOT TRUST THAT WEBSITE - BOYCOT THE bleep OUT OF IT Thankfully I keep ALL of my sensitive data stored on my external hard drive AND encrypted on top of that I also use special software that encrypts my keyboard entries that operates at the lowest level so even if they had a key logger - it didn't capture bleep I also keep ALL my encryption keys on protected USB drives only that remain in a safe I also have a really nice version of Norton Ghost that works perfectly from back in the day and I keep a rolling backup copy of my computer after all the drivers are installed and updates are updated completely with everything I want excluding games on my http www sandisk com products usb drives extremepro I am able to Format the hard drive and reinstall windows in a matter of minutes However why should I have to go through such bullbleep just to get a legit copy of software The answer is that I shouldn't and neither should anyone else - so bleep you Download Cnet that was the last straw - not only am I going to boycott the hell out of your bleep I am going to encourage others to stay the bleep away whenever I get the chance I've been in IT for over years now this bleep still boggles my mind How can these bleeps be getting away with this bleep I can't wait for the day where a web host is held responsible for Virii THEY ALLOW to be disseminated on their website - maybe then bleep will finally start to clean up Things don't usually change until you start hitting people in their wallets Only time will tell but with people like bummer taking office and pushing their socialistic big brother reforms I doubt it will take long to occur

A:Download CNet Website FULL of Virii / Trojans

Are you sure you tried to download Filezilla from the official website? I just checked and the downloads are still hosted on SourceForge, like they were months, even years ago. Also, it's a known fact that CNET uses bundled installers with their downloads (it's been like that for years). However, Google Chrome users will receive vanilla installers, without any bundled programs in them. Also, BleepingComputer is a family friendly website, so it would be appreciated if you could slow down on the usage of words that get changed to "bleep"

Hi guys.

I'm looking for a good download manager that would integrate seamlessly with Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 64 Bit.

When I was on XP I never required a download manager as I used Firefox and loved it. However, I haven't somehow felt too comfortable using it on Windows 7. Neither am I big fan of Chrome.

Hope you guys could suggest some alternatives. Else I'll have to look back at FireFox it seems.

Thanks.

A:Good download manager or alternatives

Why aren't you comfortable using Firefox on Windows 64-bit (btw is that Vista or Windows 7) ? It might not (yet) be a 64-bit binary application but that doesn't stop from working very well in a 64-bit environment.
