SD card stopped working in old reader while reader and card are OK

Q: SD card stopped working in old reader while reader and card are OK

Windows 7 SP2 Intel desktop PC.
I have a weird 3? slot internal USB card reader problem.
All SD and mSD cards (last with adapter) are recognized normally as storage devices except one Sandisk Extreme Pro 8GB micro SD, which worked normally until 2 weeks ago but still works normally with other external USB card reader.
With internal USB reader all SD cards used to be drive L: and still are L:, except this Sandisk Pro.
When this Sandisk mSd card is inserted nothing happens and looks like Windows considers it as nothing or something else but not a storage device.
Nor computer storage manager doesn't see it in internal card reader.

But when I use external card reader, this Sandisk SD card works normally and is given a letter S:.

It looks like some kind registry numerator of USB devices has listed this SD card ID as not storage device.
Any ideas how to troubleshoot?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A: SD card stopped working in old reader while reader and card are OK

If it were in the registry as not a valid device, it wouldn't work from the external reader, either. I would check to make sure that you don't have dirty contacts in the internal reader. Sometimes dust can get in there and raise havoc, especially on some SD cards which have more active contacts than others. One dirty contact can make one card not work, while other, low density cards, will.

I have an XPS 15 9550. A few days ago, I notice my SD card reader stopped working. I have tried several SD cards without any luck. The drive/SD card is not listed in Windows or disk management. I also reinstalled the drivers. Help?

Hi can anyone help me. My computer has 5 card slots built into it.(HP Compaq running Vista) The other day I put my sd card into the slot, nothing happened. A box usually pops up asking me what to do. The light on the tower lights up but does not flash like it did. I can go into my computer and open up the drive manually but autorun does not appear there. I have checked for yellow icons in device manager but there are none. Have I deleted some part of the software ???

A:Card reader stopped working

It sounds like something wrong with the card itself. Have you tried it in a different computer?

PLEASE can someone help? I am tearing my hair out. I have an HP Pavillion on Windows Vista Home Premium. My SD card reader worked perfectly and I was enjoying syncing a load of music to the SD card for a new micro stereo.

All worked fine one day, the next it all stopped! My SD card reader will not read any SD card that I have. The green light appears and stays on when card is inserted but nothing, if I click on the drive from My Computer is asks me to insert the device, which is inserted! It then freezes and I need to use CAD to get out of screen.

I have read the forum topics of a similar nature and tried the un-installing via device manager.. this failed to make anything to work.

I am so frustrated as everything was working so well! Can any one help? Simple instructions please!!!!!

Mine seems to attract any dust particle from as far away as the next planet.

Have you checked yours for dust ?

I would suggested gently blowing into it from the side. Not compressed air.

I have a Dell Inspiron 530. I just recently starting to use the SD reader. It worked fine, now when I put the card in the green light doesn't turn on and the screen doesn't pop up to view it. I did get a message that says I didn't eject the card correctly before I stopped working. I was trying to find out what driver went with it try and reload it. Any ideas how to figure out issue?

A:SD card reader stopped working

hello ,

now what i need to do is go to your (device manager)

now once there you will want to select from the toolbar of the window(veiw) then a drop down menu / from it you will select (show all hidden devices)

now if you see any (red or yellow) quotation marks , make a note of what they

now go to the (event veiwer) this is thru the (administrator tools) in the control panel
here you will find 3 to 4 subcatagories

you will want to check each of them for this is where windows keeps track of all errors
now you will want to make notes of the errors that have been recorded ( you do not have to make notes of double entries just of the dates of their happenings & how many there is

do you have a Windows Xp cd, not the restore cd's that come with some systems, the cd will have the Windows logo & 3D hollowgram/image on it

if you do not maybe you can barrow one from a friend/family member/co-worker as long as it is the same version that is on your system

if you have (Windows XP Home Ed. sp2 ) then the cd will have to be that / if you have a cd with (Windows XP Home Ed. )you will have to sliptream (SP2 ) onto a disk that you create

this also applies to (Windows XP Professsional )

now if you do have the Windows XP cd with sp2 please follow these steps

performing a (sfc) system file checker

It is a scan that checks the core files & dlls of the (os) operating system and replaces them if they are corrupt or missing with the correct original version

#1 then select (run) , then press enter
a window will open
#2 type in ( cmd ) then press enter
another window will open
#3 type in ( sfc )then press enter
another window will open
#4 type in (sfc /scannow ) then press enter ( notice the space between the (sfc & /)

now a scan will start , have your (Windows XP software disk ready ) your pc may ask for this disc when it starts or during the scan( so you must sit with the pc while this scan functions ) , if it does then incert the cd into one of your cd/rom/player's , your pc will then reconnize it and continue , you will then have to minimize the splash screen for the cd to see the scan , when the scan is finished you will need to close the cd and all open windows , then remove the cd

you will then need to do a ( Disk Cleanup ) , then empty the caches & temp files thru the (Internet Options) , then do a defrag

restart your pc

then do a defrag again after the reboot

then get back to us

The multi-card reader on our son's PC just stopped working.
Is there anything I can check, system-wise, before opening the box to see if anything is disconnected?
It's a Dell Inspiron 531, Vista Home, AMD Athlon Dual Core 4000, 1GB of RAM

A:Multi-Card Reader Stopped Working

Check device manager first. Every "Multi-card reader" that I have worked with, has always been lised as a "USB Mass Storage Device". If it's listed i'd right click it, and choose uninstall or remove. Then reboot the computer afterwards to let windows reinstall. Or if it's not listed, but there is a listing for "other" or "Unknown" device, do the same steps as listed above.

Hi and Welcome to TSF!

I am very surprised that HP would not honor the warrenty. But Im not surprised at the HP failing. Try calling back and say your done with buying HP computers and its only a week old.

You could disassemble the computer to replace the SD card.

Hello. I have a USB 2.0 media card reader in my machine that i just put in in april. At first it worked (after formatting my HD, drives C-F were for the media card reader and my HD became G). Shortly after that the drives disapeared in My Computer. G and H (my dvd-rom) are still there, but the media card reader drives are gone (and its usb port is no longer working). I remember reading something on the net that gave me instructions on what to do and it worked.

I am having the problem again, since i had to move some things on the inside (including changing usb2.0 port that the card reader was connected to). No the drives arent showing, lights dont go on and the usb port is no longer workng. I have searched the internet for help again and couldnt find anything on the topic this time.

Anyone ever heard of this before?

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment]

-------------------------- Use text before this line --------------------------------

Double click on FIX.REG and say yes to the Merge Into Registry question.

Unplug ALL USB devices.
Open Device Manager.
View, Show Hidden Devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers.
Uninstall all devices under Disk Drives that you know are not present.
Uninstall all devices under Storage Volumes. Say no to any reboot prompts until you are finished. Also, if a Storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore it and move to the next one.
If you have a yellow ? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

When this is done, reboot TWICE.

Reconnect the USB devices and see if they're recognized properly.

NOTE: If you have a USB keyboard and/or mouse, you'll have to modify the instructions and leave enough parts for those to function. I don't have one yet, so I haven't had time to modify the instructions.

I have had my ASUS G51VX laptop for a couple years now and it's still going strong. However, just recently the built-in SD card reader has stopped reading cards for some reason. When I pop in a card Windows will make the sound that a USB device has been plugged in and then a couple seconds later it will make the unplugged sound. The "Removable Storage Device" does not show up in Computer. I've tried looking through the Device Manager to find the card reader and re-install the driver, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I suppose it is one of the USB controllers. I've also tried multiple SD cards so I know it's not the card.

Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

I uninstalled the Card Reader and let Windows install the new driver. That didn't work, so I downloaded the latest driver direct from the Realtek site and tried to install it. That didn't work either so I looked at the Event Viewer and noticed: "Device not migrated". My OS is Win 10. See the screenshot below:
I pasted a screenshot, but it didn't publish. It read: Device Deleted, Device Install Requested, Device Not Migrated, Device Service Added (RTSUER), and Devise Installed (rtsuerext.inf)

I look forward to hearing from anyone who can give me some help on this.

I have a "SanDisk Ultra CompactFlash" 4GB card and an internal card reader (HP desktop). When I insert the card into the reader, the green light above the slot turns on as if it recognizes the device, but it doesn't show up. Device Manager says that the driver is installed and working properly, and I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it, and restarted my computer. A system restore isn't really an option because it isn't my computer.

Any idea how I can fix this? Could it matter that I'm not on the Admin account on the computer?

I have tried to download some pictures to my Dell Inspiron MT560 from an SD card, using the in-built multi card reader. The reader did not recognise the card and after several attempts I viewed the properties in Device Manager.
For some reason, although drivers for other cards appear, that for the SD card ( and MMC?) does not show at all, even in hidden devices! I am at a loss how that could be and how to rectify problem. Can anyone help please?

Recently my card reader has stopped recognising the cards inserted and when I try and open them I get the 'Please Insert Disk into Drive H:' message.

I have reformatted the cards (in the the camera not in Windows) and they work fine while in the camera.
Also if I connect the camera directly to the USB port it is detected, but still I get the same message when I try and open the drive.

I think this has started since I upgraded to XP from 2000 but seeing as I don't use it very much I can't be sure.

FYI the Camera is an Olympus Camedia C-4000 Zoom.

Any known issues here?

Thanks in advance.

This is my first post, so if I'm in the wrong place please advise. A few days ago I downloaded and ran combofix at the advice of a friend. My system seemed stable, but I wanted to check for hidden malware. It turned up a dozen or so suspicious files and quarantined them. But after that, when I insert an SD card into my usb reader, the auto transfer wizard does not start. Can't get it to work. I did a system restore and was able to manually remove all the malware except one hidden registry setting. Then it took me 2 days to download combofix again (!! 404 errors galore). This time I noticed that the card reader function was gone even before running combofix. Just downloading it to my desktop killed the app. Anyone know of a fix?

Hi all I was refered here by a monitor in the malware/virus removal section. About 2 weeks ago out of the blue my computers built in all-in one card reader stopped working. When I put a memory card in nothing happens. When I go to my computer there are no drives for the card reader slots. I checked device manager and there are no related warnings and according to device manager everything appears to be working. I recently had to remove some malware so I'm sure its related to why the card reader no longer works.

I haven't used this thing in several months and now that I am trying to use it to empty my SD cards from my camera onto the computer. I tried them in the hotel computer and it recognized them so I know it's not the cards... I have also used these types of cards in this laptop before I built my own rig.

Anyways, do you guys have any solutions?

I couldn't find the Mfg for the card reader...but it could be uninstalled from the "Programs& Features", aswell you should uninstall the drivers from the "Devices Manager".
When no card SD inserted, it doesn't appear in the devices manager, therefore you'll have to follow that tutorial: Hidden Devices and add:

I've got a Dell Inspiron 9300 with the built-in SD card reader and it worked fine until like six months ago and I have been trying since then to get it to work. When you pop a card in it takes a sec and then you hear a sound like you just plugged something in, but then nothing happens. A new icon used to show up in the "My Computer" file and also a window showing what was on the card but now nothing at all. Also under the hardware profiles I can see the host controller on there, but theres a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark beside it. When I go into its properties, under status it says " The device cannot start. (Code 10) " Someone please help I'm about ready to take a baseball bat to this computer.

A:SD Card reader not working

My name is Mike, I’m a Technical Analyst located at Dell corporate headquarters in Round Rock, TX. I’m part of an internet outreach team developed to interact with the online community regarding technical questions and issues that customers face with Dell products. I read about your problem and wanted to help. It sounds like you may just need to reinstall the driver. There is a chance, with the error you provided, that the SD card reader has failed, but a driver reinstall may get it working again. Go into device manager and uninstall the device, then reboot. When you reboot you may get the Found New Hardware Wizard, if you do, close it. Get online and download this driver: Follow the install wizard and hopefully this will get your SD card reader working again. If after you’ve reinstalled it you get the same error message in the device manager then you may be looking at a bad card reader. I hope this information helps.

Thank you,

I have no idea if this is the right place to post this.

Card Reader not working.

Dell XPS 410
with built in card reader

Windows 7 Upgrade over Vista Home Premium.

I think the card reader did work after upgrade but now I can't remember. I don't use it that much.

The card reader does not recognize my SD photo cards. I tried multiple cards. The cards DO work on my XP computer.

I also have a USB card reader that I use on my XP computer. That works fine on my XP computer. But the Dell XPS 410 with Windows 7 does not recognize this either.

But back to my Dell XPS 410 with Windows 7 Upgrade:

Built in card reader does not recognize any SD cards.
And I have an external SD USB card reader AND the XPS 410 does not recognize that either.

Any suggestions is appreciated.

I have a 2gb SD card that was working perfectly in my camera moments ago. I bought an SD card reader, tried to get it to work - but to no avail. It appeared as a letter drive, however when I tried to open it, it would say "insert disk into E:\" .

So I tried to format the card, but it gave me an error saying it couldn't format.

Now I tried to put it back in my camera, and it says "memory card error"

So now I'm left with a card reader that failed me, and an SD card that no longer works. How can I fix these problems?

Thanks to those who help!

I have a Gateway ML6732 running Windows Vista and recently my memory card reader won't recognize anything. It used to work beautifully, and I don't know what's wrong with it now. Does anybody know what drivers would be associated with it? I've checked my device manager and I have a yellow exclamation mark next to my SCSI/RAID Host Controller. I don't know if that has anything to do with my memory card reader, but I can't find an update anywhere. If anyone has any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Right click the yellow exclamation mark and update your drivers if the device manager is unable to update drivers which is not often . Then you can go to your own computers website and download all drivers needed put in make, model number and operating system of your computer

I just recently bought a k450e computer and everything seems to be working fine, except the card reader. I inserted an SD card from my camera into the slot, but nothing happened. It failed to even detect the card was in there. I checked the devie manager and I couldn't find anything that looked like a card reader driver. I tried downloading and installing some drivers, but not a single one will appear in the device manager. Is there something I'm supposed to do to activate the reader, or did I get a broken computer?

A:XPS 13 2015 - SD Card Reader Not Working

Has the card reader ever worked with this notebook, if so when did it stop working?
If you haven't already I suggest running diagnostics and see if they can determine if there is a problem with the reader.  Please read this for more information on running diagnostics.
What does Disk Management read when checking on the reader.  Press the Windows Key with the X key together and select disk management from the menu.  Once Disk Manager is open do it show the card reader?
Place a known good SD card in the reader and then check Disk Manager again and is there a change.  Try refreshing disk manager, click on Actions and then refresh, is there a difference.
Please reply with the results of the diagnostics and if the card reader is detected in disk manager.

I have purchased a brand new computer from ACMW, and I had requested a Multi Card reader be installed. But it does not work. There is a light on this reader for 'Power' and 'Active', however neither lights work at all, so I assume that the unit is receiving no power. Tried rebooting etc, always the same. When inserting cards into the reader, nothing at all happens on the PC. Any ideas for fixing this to avoid having to return the whole PC back to ACMW? I don't want to invalidate the warranty by opening up the case either, any ideas?

Op system is Vista 64 Personal if that make the slightest bit of difference.

A:multi card reader not working - new PC

There is likely a loose connection to the Reader. The only way to check this is to take the cover off.
If it invalidates the warranty, take it back to where you bought it and have them fix it.

A:Built in card reader not working

Most built in card readers are USB devices, I suggest powering down the PC, disconnect the power cord, then hold the power button in for 15 seconds, open the case and trace the data cable from the card reader to the motherboard and uplug it from the motherboard, close the case, plug in and start the PC up, once into windows for a few minutes, shut down and follow the procedure again, this time plug the cable back in to the motherboard, close the case and start up again, see if windows finds the device automatically once the desktop loads.

To fix this problem, unplug this device from the computer and then plug it in again.

The device has been prepared for ejection.

This error code occurs only if the user used the Safe Removal application to prepare the device for removal, or pressed a physical eject button. Restarting the computer brings the device online if the user does not want to eject from the dock.

Unplug the device, and then plug it in again. Alternately, restart the computer to make the device available.

This is happening because you use the Safely Remove Hardware command on a removable device.
You need to either remove or replace the device from its socket or docl or restart the computer

I have followed all of the instructions, the few that exist on the MS site and everywhere else, endlessly parroted, but following the unplug replug thing changes nothing. I found instructions on showing non-recognized devices, and it shows there, with a yellow exclamation point. I need the data on the hard drive. How do I force XP/3 to recognize the hard drive? Or, failing that, how do I remove the data on the hard drive that says it hasn't been removed, which it has, over and over. This is turning out to be a real problem...

A:USB card reader not working correctly

DeeSqueeze: If you have safely removed your hardware and you plug it back in but it has a Yellow mark in the Device Manager, then Right click the Yellow mark and Uninstall it. Now, make sure you are using the proper power adapter. Then be sure the power adapter is plugged directly into the wall not into a surge protector or extension cord. then plug the USB cable into the Back of the computer if it is a Desktop and not the front as the front is a weaker port. If you still get the Yellow mark in Device Manager then Right click it and uninstall it, then Right click any device in Device Manager and choose Scan for Hardware Changes. this will reinstall the device. If it still fails then there is something wrong with the controller. buy a new USB enclosure and put your old HDD in there.

Hello jawsisra. Welcome to the forum.

If the device was working fine and then *something happened* and then it's not working fine then a System Restore could very well correct the issue.
That is if the issue is OS/Software related. Choose a date from before *something happened*.

It would help to know what happened. The window disappeared? The computer shut down? Sparks and Smoke? This information is helpful for us to determine if this could be a hardware or a software issue so we are not running in circles!

With either the card reader or the USB cable to the camera plugged in. go to Start/Search and type devmgmt.msc Right click the devmgmt icon in the search results and Run as Administrator. In the Elevated Device Manager, are there any devices with yellow flags or under Universal Serial Bus controllers is there an Unknown device? If so, right click it and Uninstall it. Now remove the USB cable/device from the computer end and restart the computer. When the computer comes back up, plug the USB cable into a different USB port and not through a Docking Station or Hub. You should get new hardware found.

I've not heard of a "secure software". All that should be needed are the drivers. And if it has never worked, I'd suspect faulty hardware.

Is it listed in Device Manager? Is it shown as working properly, or is it displaying yellow ! ?

If it has been open slot for a while, it could have dust in it. Blow it out and try it.Go to Device Manager/Universal Serial Bus Controllers and see if Card Reader is there, Has a yellow exclaimation mark.Double click it, choose driver/ Uninstall and checkmark delete software.Install this DriverCardReaderGenesysCard Reader Driver4. Hey there,

I'd like to start by thanking anyone who can offer some help or suggestions. I have installed XP SP3 (Lite) on my Acer Aspire 5920 using the SATA drivers. However, I cannot get the Card Reader Driver to work.

I installed the Ricon Card Reader driver from the Acer website and from other forums but whenever I put my SD Card into the slot I get a Driver Install message popping up. I cannot get this to work and thus I cannot install working drivers.

The only driver known to cause problems with XP for the 5920 is the webcam driver, which I have not installed.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can fix this issue?

After upgrading my Vista Business SP2 (32-bit) to Windows 7 Ultimate RC (32-bit) my Broadcom USB smart card reader does not work any longer (Dell Latitude E6400 with built in smart card reader). The newest available driver from dell support was already tested (Broadcom, driver date 09/23/2008, version, digitally signed WHQL, released by dell in March 09), but the device can not start (Error code 10) with Windows 7. With the Microsoft WUDF Driver (Usbccid, driver date 06/21/2006, version 6.1.7100.0) the device starts but whenever I insert my smart card an additional device is detected (other device - smart card) but no driver found - Error message is: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28). What else can I try to get this reader working again (with vista sp2 the smart card reader was working fine with the broadcom driver)?

I think there are several packages you need to install to get this to work. Security Driver PackControlPoint System ManagerControlPoint Security ManagerDo you have the latest version of all of these installed?zokyn/andy_power - As Ronnie suggested, please go into device manager and find the Hardware ID for the your smartcard readers, then post them here.  Also post the make/model of your PC's.  I'll see if I can help you track down drivers. Thanks,MarkWant to know if your hardware will work on Windows 7? So, the title pretty much says it all. I've looked around some, but most other people's problems seemed to be that they could at least see a grayed out version of the card or locate it in the Device Manager, but absolutely nothing shows up for me. It worked fine a couple of days ago (when I was still on Vista), but after upgrading to 7, it no longer detects the SD card at all. Other topics had lots of random driver downloads, but the ones I tried did not seem to work. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi, I have just recieved my brand new Portege Z30 a few days ago.
I am trying to use the Smart Card reader for my Spanish ID (DNIe) and seems not to be working.
When I insert the card as it says in the Users Manuel, it doesn't happen anything.
Do I need to "actuvate" de SC reader somehow?

(DNIe needs an SC reader compatible with ISO7816, as the one installed in my laptop seems to be)

A:Portege Z30 - Smart Card Reader seems not to be working

Usually you must not ?activate? anything. Check card reader status in device manager please. Is everything OK there?

Be sure you use compatible card and it is inserted properly.

Just in case this helps anyone, or in case Dell Tech Support want to yell "NO!", I tracked down Realtek's own driver for this integrated card reader, and it seems to be working well for me (Win 10 Home):

The forum software is monkeying around with my link, so it may not be clickable. Another way to find the driver file:  www[dot]realtek[dot]com[dot]tw -> Downloads -> Computer Peripheral ICs - > Card Reader Solutions -> Card Reader Controllers -> Software
Hope that helps. Cheers Charlie

I've got a couple of problems with my USB Hub and internal Card Reader. Both are generic so unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any drivers for them.

USB's and other devices work except my iPod cable. When I plug my iPod in through the hub, it connects but doesn't charge. If I use any other USB port, it charges fine. The model number is UH-315.

Internal Card Reader
The USB works but none of the other ports (SD, microSD etc.) do. I can't find a model number anywhere but the box does say:

Hopefully, that's enough to go on.

A:USB Hub and Internal Card Reader not working properly...

USB 2.0, Hi-Speed USB FAQ
"How does a USB hub slow down devices?
A USB hub has to re-calculate the time left before the next sof (end of the uframe); the small extra delay added by the hardware hub could make the transaction not handled as fast as a device directly connected to the host. If several devices are connected on the USB hub and working in parallel (for example, a webcam + a USB flash drive + a mouse), then the USB bandwidth is shared among the devices usage. "
I think that iPod is pretty sensitive on these things...

I've got newly created hard drive images with Vista Business 32-bit and Vista Ultimate 64-bit on separate partitions. It seems I've installed all the appropriate drivers, and yet when I put an SD card in the SD reader, nothing happens, and I don't see it in Explorer or Disk Management.
In Device Manager, I see SD host adapters --> SDA Standard Compliant SD Host Controller, and driver appears to have installed correctly, just nothing happens upon insertion of an SD card.
My HP laptop will read both SD cards just fine, but I can't get the E6500 to read them.
Anyone have any ideas?

A:Latitude E6500 SD card reader not working?

I was looking for an answer to this issue with no solution at this moment. I have an e6500 too with the same problem, Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bits installed fully updated. My system can read any SD Card with a USB Multi Card Reader but with no results using de SD Card Reader. I understand this is a Ricoh SD/MMC Host Controller (IDE ATA/ATAPIControllers) with a rimptsk.sys driver version provided by REDC. Despite everything looks good with software and hardware it does not recognize any SD or MMC card (I did not try others) withou regards the brand I put into.  Reinstalling OS is not a solution anlymore. Solution approches maybe: 1)  Hardware replacement 2) Waiting for a new driver capable to manage this because is clear it's not a problem with SD or MMC card but Ricoh SD/MMC Host Controller or SD Card Reader Adapter. 3) SD Host Controller in doing wrong bridge with Ricoh SD/MMC Host Controller or.............................

Hi, I bought this about a year ago and it worked at first but as time passed sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn't when I put in my memory stick to upload pictures, etc. Now I've been trying for a couple of days and whenever I insert it into the usb port the light flashes green (somestimes remains green) and the computer shows that that removable drive is there when I go to 'my computer'. But when I click on it it says "Please insert the removable drive E)" or it freezes my computer. I even tried it on a laptop and it doesn't want to open up.

Hello, I upgraded my T530 from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and except for the SD Card Reader, I got everything working again. I already tried the RICOH SD Card Reader driver and the SmartCard Reader Driver for Windows 10 but after a reboot none of them were working. I also tried different SD cards to check if the card causes problems but no change. So I tried them on my old T400 with an external SD Card Reader and the cards were ok. Does anybody have an idea how to get the internal SD Card Reader working? Thanks in advance...
