I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I am running windows Home Premium 64bit. I just did a fresh install and when I ran the WEI the computer rebooted. I can run it with out being in SLI mode, but as soon as I enable and refresh the computer reboots. I am wondering if it is caused by the power supply. I have a rosewill RP650 2 psu. Newegg.com - Rosewill RP650-2 650W ATX12V v2.3 & EPS12V v2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Active PFC Power Supply

What are your thoughts?? I have the latest drivers and again this is a new OS install.

A:Evga GTX 260 SLI with Evga x58 mother board reboot issues

Hi and welcome to seven forums

How recent is the SLI? Have you just added the 2nd card?

Could you tell us the rest of your system specs or fill them in on your profile.

Do both cards work fine if you just have 1 installed?

Sounds like it could be a power issue if so.

Cheers

Paul.

Hey, so im looking to upgrade my graphics card in my computer, which i bought about a year ago; overall it's pretty good other than the crappy radeon r7 200 series graphics card that came with it. I'm planning on buying an EVGA GEFORCE GTX 1060 3GB soon. I have multiple problems: Firstly i'm not sure if it will fit into my motherboard or if it's even compatible with it, this being a GA-F2A68HM-HD2.
Furthermore, I'm not sure what the power output is of my pc, so idk how to check if it can support it (i also dont know the power requirement of it so any help on that would be appreciated)
Notes, in my case, it is mostly empty spare for the fans, cpu etc, the motherboard has nothing opposite it, with about 10/11 cm of space between it and the side of my pc.
Any help with this would be amazing,
Thanks in advance.

after many trial and errors with the fans.. i finally figured out why my PC is still so loud.. well the NB chipset cooler on this motherboard (eVGA NF43) is very loud for a little tiny fan. so i decided to replace it with passive cooling.. such as the Zalman ZM-NB47J
http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=71&code=014

Question is.. i have a 6600GT right by the chipset cooler.. will the zalman fit in there? i kno it wont with the 7800GTs but im not sure how much longer ther PCB's are on those cards.. maybe someone can help me =]

A:eVGA 6600GT + eVGA NF43 + Zalman ZM-NB47J = happy? or not?

After looking at my 6600gt, the picture of the motherboad, and the picture of the cooler, I don't think it will work. You use the blue pci-e slot right?
I guess there are several options. If your chipset stays plenty cool you could try slowing the fan either using a software program, or by using a manual fan speed controller. Or I've seen people with the same heatsink and a similar board layout cut some of the spokes(or bend them), so that it wouldn't interfere with the card. There also might be replacments with a fan that is quieter available.

Hi,

I'm new to the forum but was wondering if I could get some help with my computer crashing randomly. I have included the dump file. Thanks in advance if anyone is able to help.

It was working fine a while back but has recently been having issues like it not being able to come back out of sleep, or the hibernation file become corrupted.

According to Carrona.org, STOP 0x000000D1: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
Usual causes: Device driver

In such a situation, it is better to enable Driver Verifier to monitor the drivers.
Driver Verifier - Enable and Disable
Run Driver Verifier for 24 hours or the occurrence of the next crash, whichever is earlier.

 Information
Why Driver Verifier:
It puts a stress on the drivers, ans so it makes the unstable drivers crash. Hopefully the driver that crashes is recorded in the memory dump.

How Can we know that DV is enabled:
It will make the system bit of slow, laggy.

 Warning
Before enabling DV, make it sure that you have earlier System restore points made in your computer. You can check it easily by using CCleaner looking at Tools > System Restore.

If there is no points, make a System Restore Point manually before enabling DV.

 Tip

If you fail to get on the Desktop because of DV, Boot into Advanced Boot Options > Safe mode. Disable DV there. Now boot normally again, and try following the instruction of enabling DV again.
If you cannot boot in Safe mode too, do a System Restore to a point you made earlier.

Let us know the results, with the subsequent crash dumps, if any.

Also, upload your MSINFO32.nfo file.
Click on the start button
Type "msinfo32" (without quotes) in the search bar of the start menu, click the resulting link. It will open the System Information window.
File>Save. In the "File Name" filed, put "MSINFO32" (without Quote), give the save location to desktop, and click the "save" button.
Give the time for processing, it will save a .nfo file on your desktop.
Zip it, and upload it following the instruction.

So my pc was working fine until I did a clean install of the latest nvidia beta driver 304.48.

I did a clean install from 301.42 and it did initially crash then I rebooted and tried it again. I have since tried multiple times going back and forth between both drives using revo unintaller pro, and ccleaner to clean things up.

But, now neither driver allows me to activate SLI. The PC just crashes instantly.

Many of us on the forums actually do not recommend automated optimization tools for Windows 7. Windows 7 does a much better job of handling its own optimization than its predecessors did. We especially do not recommend registry cleaning as an "optimization" step because automated registry cleaning causes more harm to the registry than it actually repairs.

In the future, if you need help optimizing Windows 7, please post a thread in Performance & Maintenance - Windows 7 Forums or follow the tutorial enclosed in that forum to Optimize Windows 7.

We do not recommend automated driver update software. It often finds drivers for devices similar to but not exactly the same as the hardware actually on the system. This can lead to conflicts and blue screen crashes. If you need help finding driver updates for a certain device, please start a thread in Drivers - Windows 7 Forums instead of using software. Driver updates are not always necessary and some updates can actually decrease system stability rather than increase it, so it is usually better not to update unless a device or its driver is causing problems with the system. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Crashes are being caused by your Intel graphics driver: igdkmd64.sys

It may be related to the missing Intel device driver mentioned above. Install all Intel drivers from your motherboard support site, especially the Intel Smart Connect driver ver:2.0.1083.0 listed there. I would also suggest disabling the Intel graphics driver in Device Manager if you are using the NVIDIA graphics cards.

Also, use the following steps for re-installing display card drivers or swapping the drivers/software:Download the drivers you want for your display card(s)
Click Start Menu
Click Control Panel
Click Uninstall a program
For NVIDIA:Uninstall the NVIDIA Graphics Driver (this should uninstall all NVIDIA software and drivers)
Restart your computer
Make sure NVIDIA 3D Vision Driver, NVIDIA 3D Vision Video Player, NVIDIA HD Audio Driver, and NVIDIA PhysX System Software are not still listed under Uninstall a program through Control Panel
If any remain of the above, uninstall one at a time
If asked to restart after uninstalling any of the above, do so, and continue uninstalling any remaining NVIDIA items until all are removed

Restart your computer after uninstalling drivers for all display cards
Install the driver you selected for the display cards once Windows starts

bump, could some one help me with what my minidump shows?
I tried using a debugging program, but I don't really understand all the codes.
I think I found out that it was gpu related from what I can sort of figure out, but it still doesn't really answer my question about it possibly being a pci-e slot problem? (ie, my mobo)

I did a quick check on the capacitors on my mobo and they all seem fine, I'll recheck in the morning.
And an update, I've been using my computer fine the entire day without any bsods while running no gpu.
So I assume all the other components in my computer's fine?

Thanks

What you're looking for will be in one of the following categories:

a) BIOS bug
b) a driver whose activity is causing the target processor to lock up
c) a hardware defect (temperature, voltage, dust, RFI, outright borkedness...)

So, check the drivers
Then check the inside of the case (temperature, voltage, dust, etc).
Then run some hardware stress tests

Quote:
Try this free video stress test: FurMark: VGA Stress Test, Graphics Card and GPU Stability Test, Burn-in Test, OpenGL Benchmark and GPU Temperature | oZone3D.Net
Try this free stress test: Free Software - GIMPS

Quote:
Prime95 Setup:
- extract the contents of the zip file to a location of your choice
- double click on the executable file
- select "Just stress testing"
- select the "Blend" test. If you've already run MemTest overnight you may want to run the "Small FFTs" test instead.
- "Number of torture test threads to run" should equal the number of CPU's times 2 (if you're using hyperthreading).
The easiest way to figure this out is to go to Task Manager...Performance tab - and see the number of boxes under CPU Usage History
Then run the test for 6 to 24 hours - or until you get errors (whichever comes first).
The Test selection box and the stress.txt file describes what components that the program stresses.

Then try replacing parts.
Then look up the versions of your BIOS to see what changes were done.

I need a NIC? on-board by caused being BSOD little help and hope someone here can lend a hand I'm having very regular BSOD on my system which appear to be due to the ethernet card on the motherboard I think this because at the same time the BSOD occurs there is a event log entry from e dexpress saying a network link has been established I'm not establishing a connection at the time of the crash When it occurs is completely random Sometimes this happens within minutes of starting the computer Other times it can be hours I've tried using BSOD being caused by on-board NIC? the drivers which come with Win the drivers from the Gigabyte website I have the GA-Z X-UD H motherboard and the latest drivers directly from Intel Regardless which driver I use the BSOD continues to occur It also doesn't seem to be specific to a certain BIOS update I've attached a ZIP file with minidumps Can someone please take a look to see if it appears to actually be the NIC that's causing me trouble Also I'd gladly accept any advice anyone BSOD being caused by on-board NIC? might have regarding how I might resolve this Huge thanks in advance to anyone who offers assistance EDIT I've now added the output from the SF Debug Tool

A:BSOD being caused by on-board NIC?

Have you updated the UEFI/BIOS on your Gigabyte motherboard? I have seen issues recently with even versions from 2014 being outdated - and the update has fixed the BSOD problems.

This device is disabled. Is this deliberate? If so, why?

Oculus Positonal Tracker USB\VID_2833&PID_0201&MI_00\6&1102C499&0&0000 This device is disabled.

If not needed, I'd suggest uninstalling the software for this device and physically removing it from the system (if it's a physical device). If it is needed, then please enable it and ensure the software is updated to the latest, Win8.1 compatible version. Then feel free to disable it again (once it's updated).

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).

Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disk-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

Out of 13 memory dumps there were 10 different BSOD error codes. The differing error codes are usually symptomatic of a lower level problem within the system. They are usually caused by one of these things:
- borked (broken) hardware (several different procedures used to isolate the problem device)
- BIOS issues (check for updates at the motherboard manufacturer's website)
- overclocking/overheating - You'll know if you're overclocking or not. If uncertain we can suggest things to check.
- missing Windows Updates
- compatibility issues (3rd party hardware/drivers), older systems, or even pirated systems
- low-level driver problems
- or even malware (scanned for when we ask for hardware diagnostics from Initial Hardware Diagnostics or Hardware Diagnostics ).

You can get a head start on the hardware diagnostics if you'd like - they are located here: Hardware Diagnostics

Please uninstall the Western Digital software from the system. The wdcsam64.sys driver dates from 2008 and is a known BSOD cause on some Windows systems.

Please uninstall Gigabyte Easy Saver (gdrv.sys) and, if installed, Gigabyte EasyTune - they are known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems.

Please uninstall your XBox USB wireless controller (xusb21.sys ) This driver is known to cause BSOD's on some Windows systems. FYI - there are no updates for this driver, so if it is to blame your only "fix" will be to remove the device from your system.

Uninstall CPUID GPU-Z as it's drivers date from 2010 (GPUZ.sys)

Your Acronis drivers (afcdp.sys) date from 2011, so there's a strong possibility that that program may not be compatible w/Win8.1. Please check at the Acronis site to see if it is.

If all of this doesn't fix it (and if you pass all of the hardware diagnostics), then please run Driver Verifier according to these directions: Driver Verifier Settings

Hi,
am using windows 7 x64.
i had BSOD problem and found out the problem is mother boards ram slots and one of my ram is also malfunctioning.

After replacing with a new different mother board i am getting BSOD in startup.

i thought windows 7 will automatically accept the new chipset. Is there are any ways to prevent from reinstalling windows again ?

thank you.

Note : since the system is getting BSOD in the startup i couldn't get the dump file.

A:BSOD Going crazy please help.

Are you running any programs in particular when the BSOd appears? Does it ever crash when you are idle? UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP is generally caused by hardware failure. I would run a stress test on your processor. I would also run memtest86 for at least 8 passes to test for bad memory.

Problem involving blue screen of death and fan going crazy I am experiencing a issue with my PC Occasionally I will get a BSOD This will usually but not always happen just after I plug in a USB device say a external hard disk or bluetooth dongle but it had also happened with a pair of headphones This happens very occasionally too occasionally to investigate into I would post error codes but they are extremely varied so I don t really know The main problem is when I hit the power button after the BSOD has come up to shut off the computer When I do this my fan suddenly goes crazy and is running at perhaps - times its normal speed perhaps more I can t really judge It is very loud and sounds like it is doing damage to itself this usually causes an enormous cloud of dust to blow in to my face if I haven t cleaned the thing in a while I can hold down the power button for as long as I want but it wont turn off I have to yank the power cable to get it to turn off I usually yank it as fast as possible goes crazy... BSOD, fan then because I m concerned that leaving it doing that for longer than necessary will BSOD, then fan goes crazy... have a detrimental effect or at least thats what my instincts tell me I have searched the internet fairly thoroughly and I wasn t able to find this particular kind of issue I m wondering has anyone heard of this kind of behavior before and if anyone has any ideas as to whether it is doing any damage or how I might fix it This is my first post here so if I have broken a rule or expected mannerism please let me know Many thanks in advance CathalA nbsp

A:BSOD, then fan goes crazy...

First start by cleaning the interior portions of the machine especially the heatsink, the fan blades and fan hub.

Your machine is passively cooled and if the heatsink is clogged on the air intake side this will cause the fan to speed up to try to cool the processor.

If the problem continues after a thorough cleaning you may have a problem with the motherboard start/stop circuitry. The fact that this happens after plugging in a USB device may point to a possible motherboard circuitry problem since the USB ports are powered from the +5v rail, and the board start/stop circuitry is also powered by the +5v rail.

Well my windows 7-x64bit is BSODing like crazy. At first it while only while I was playing games such as "Heroes of Newerth" and i found a thread explaing that it may be the nvidia drivers and I was going to clean them and reinstall them. Before doing that I even went as far as running a memtest and also found no errors with my memory. As soon as I restart my rig, Windows 7 runs for about 10secs and just crashes and crashes.... even when I try to run the startup repair recovery, it BSODs @ that screen too! I have 6 fans in my case, my 3.4ghz amd quad core runs @ between 30-45 C and my gfx card runs from 40-48 C

Can anyone give me an idea of what to do? I installed windows 7 about 3 days ago and ill gladly re-image it.... but i don't want to have to keep doing this over and over again.....

I built this computer for a customer a few months ago. After running fine for a couple months, the computer started crashing randomly and rebooting. It would usually get into a reboot "loop" and corrupt the RAID 1 operating system drive.

I have set the computer to not reboot automatically on a crash and have captured several minidumps, but I cannot pinpoint the trouble. I have tested all of the hardware as well as I know how. The trouble seems to occur only after plugging a device into the onboard USB ports, but I am not sure as the cause of the crash appears to be different each time.

I have never had this type of problem before and am stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated! I have attached a zip file that includes 6 minidump files.

A:BSOD - driving me crazy

Hi richwaters and welcome to TSF !

Many different errors involving different drivers and processes, IRQ errors or memory corruption. Seems to me there's some hardware problem. What did you test and how did you test it ? Test the memory with memtest. Try another power supply. Test the hard drive for errors using chkdsk /R and the manufacturer's diagnostic utility.

Make sure you're using the latest drivers for the motherboard/hardware and update to the latest BIOS revision.

What are the complete system specs including the brand, wattage and model of the power supply ? Please check the posting system specs link in my sig.

Enter the BIOS at startup and search for the hardware monitor or pc health status screen. Please report the temps, fan speeds and voltages from there.

Check the device manager for flagged devices : start => run => devmgmt.msc.

Check the event viewer for errors : start => run => eventvwr.msc.

2 errors are caused by McAfee, try another antivirus.

If nothing comes up try deleting/recreating the page file : right-click my computer => properties => advanced => settings under performance => advanced => change. Write down your current min and max virtual memory settings that are next to the drive's letter. Select the drive, tick "no paging file" and click set. Agree to the warnings then reset the previous page file settings (custom size or system managed size) and restart the computer.

If no hardware problem shows up then you may try a repair install in case the problem is caused by a corrupted/incompatible driver. Remember to use an XP SP2 CD and to uninstall IE7 before starting the repair process.

My new parts I have installed: Phenom 965BE, ASRock M3A790GXH/USB3, 2x 2GB DDR3 1600MHz (Running @1333) Corsair XMS3.

I Have no clue why this is happening

Even worse, it's happening on Christmas D:

I've also noticed that my mouse + kb keep on disconnecting and re-connecting (quite quickly though) every minute.

Specs in 'My sys specs'

EDIT: Some other info.

I still get BSOD when I go into safe mode.
Much appreciated thanks, and merry Christmas!

This one was caused by your video driver please use these instructions to remove and re-install

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

Welcome to Techspot

You may want to check your power supply (is it powerful enough) or it could be failing. Do you have a lot of bown out / power spikes where your at?

May also want to check your RAM. You can use this free utility and it works very well:

Hi people.

I could tell you a huge and boring history about me and my "all-kind-of" BSOD problem (it's been trhough 2 months now), but i think it's unnecessary.

I've already enabled the driver verifier and my windows began having problems even on startup. That's why i think that i have a faulty driver.

Could you help me find, for god's sake, what driver is not working correctly?

Thank you.

Hey yo,

That's so straight forward, Amfltx64.sys, your A4Tech X-705FS Mouse Driver, is causing your BSODs. In looking through your driver, I can see that you are so out of date:

Code:
Amfltx64 Amfltx64.sys Mon Oct 15 10:37:21 2007 (4712E071)
Amusbx64 Amusbx64.sys Wed Feb 13 15:20:14 2008 (47B2A83E)
Please update them right now, if there aren't any updates for them, then they are not compatible with window 7.

If you have time, please Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes. Exception code ffffc0000005 and stop code 50 make me think about that.

I've gotten the BSOD 3 times this morning. No idea what's going on. For the past week or so i've gotten it once or twice.

New computer. Only 3-4 months old.
Fresh Install of the OS 3 months ago with my own Win 7 disc.

I was also having BSOD issues when I first installed the OS on my new computer. Then I went about a month without any issue.

Thanks

no minidumps huh?
You have a lot of system faults listed there.
What antivirus/firewall are you running?
It wouldn't hurt to run memtest86 overnight to see if it finds something.

Hi there,

This is my first post so please excuse any rookie mistakes.

I'm assuming you can see my system specs as I've already filled them out. The computer BSOD's at seemingly random times. The only time it can be reproduced is when using Illustrator CS6 working on a file that has multiple placed images in it. It's sporadic otherwise. The fans whir like a jet-plane taking off before the BSOD, which makes me wonder if something is overheating.

Find a .dmp file attached.

I would appreciate any help on identifying why it BSOD's. It's driving me nuts!

I'll answer any questions you have, and do anything you tell me, to fix it.

Thanks for your time.

Hello,
i own a ACER Aspire 7715 with W7 home premium OS and 4 Gb memory.
No overclocking or other stuff.
This machine drives me up the wall with random BSOD's
See attached dump.
When I use BlueScreenView it tells me:

Used the system recover procedure of Acer , but same result.
Can anyone analyse the dump and advice me, because this situation is very depressing.

Hope to learn a sufficient methode to tackle this problem.
The W7Dumpinfo.rar file contains Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 and perfmon.html

best regards Piet.

A:[SOLVED] BSOD driving me crazy...

It appears that this driver isn't installed:

Quote:

O driver de dispositivo para RTL8187_Wireless n?o foi instalado

Is this deliberate? If so, why? If you would like to keep it uninstalled, then I'd suggest removing the device from the computer.

There is only one memory dump included in the uploaded files (it's from 11-02-2010).
There are 2 from August in the MSINFO32 report that blame your Rtlh86.sys driver (the driver for your wired connection).

Please uninstall:
- Daemon Tools
- Catalyst Control Center
- Comodo Firewall Pro (I suspect that this is the actual cause)

You have 2 Network cards installed. Is there a reason for this? I wonder if they are conflicting with each other. I would remove one (or disable it in the BIOS).

Also, it's likely that these older drivers could be causing problems for you. Please remove or update these older drivers that were loaded at the time of the crash. Don't use Windows Update or the Update drivers function of Device Manager.
Please use the following instructions to locate the most currently available drivers to replace the one's that you uninstall OR remove:

Quote:

How To Find Drivers:
- I have listed links to most of the drivers in the code box below. Please use the links there to see what info I've found about those drivers.
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

They said they the Hulu Desktop I had installed was the problem. So they uninstalled it and said it was fixed. (I'm assuming during the diagnostics they checked the GPU, PSU and all the other components too). I booted it back up at home and the problems started up again. So I reinstalled Windows, made sure I had all the latest drivers and was extremely careful about which folders I installed the different programs in. I also have checked the connections inside. Things seemed to be fixed, but then they started up again. I was getting the BSOD less often, but a new symptom emerged, the computer would completely freeze up, even the audio froze and would play the last second of whatever was on at the time (scares the bejeezus out of you too). It seems to be happening when I'm streaming video or listening to music I have on the HD, but it's also happened once while playing a game. I'm at a loss. I can't really take this back to the store and have them check it over because I need this computer for school. I'm comfortable working on computers, but not very experienced with the upper level techie stuff (like dump files and debugging).

Here's my system info and I've included the dump files too. Hopefully it's not an info overload, I figure too much info is better than too little.

Thank you so much for the help guys

I walk away from my computer for a bit and come back to a BSOD. This happens quite regular. I have run my system both stock and highly overclocked. When it started BSODing on me I put it back to stock to see if that helped but it has not helped. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A:BSOD driving me crazy. Seems to only come when idle

I would uninstall Norton/Symantec in the normal method, then use the tool they offer to remove it as well.

Set Windows Firewall and Windows Defender to Automatic and start them too.

In at least one crash, the page file sent bad data or could not be read at all, and Norton loves to do things of this type of nature.

one - blue screen

two - gpu fan goes to max speed and loses signal to monitor

then when i restart, my computer somehow works again without these problems

this has to happen at least once on startup before my computer will work

the good thing though at least is that it doesnt happen when im using the computer, only at start up but it gets really annoying

also when i get into windows after the restart, i see something about amdkmdap error and has recovered

let me know what to do

oh and also whenever im watching youtube, i get the amdkmdap error, the screen would go black for 2 seconds and then the message would pop up and it recovers

How to find and post your Minidump Files:

My Computer > C Drive > Windows Folder > Minidump Folder > Minidump Files.

It is these files that we need (not the folder). Attach to your next post the five most recent dumps. Notice the Manage Attachments button at the bottom when you go to post the next time. You can Zip up to five files per Zip; if you only have one or two you don?t need to zip them, just attach as is. Please do us a favor and don?t Zip each one individually.

Okay, so the on-board video on my parents' computer suddenly stopped working. I purchased a dedicated card and attempted to install the driver but was halted by BSoDs on attempts which ultimately led to the hard drive being corrupted from crashing.

The on-board at this point still does not work and I don't think it will. Now, whenever I attempt to reinstall Windows Vista I get a BSoD during installation. I'm unsure how to troubleshoot at this point. It is not the RAM, MemTest ran smoothly.

Here's a picture of the BSoD:

Hello,

This looks and sounds like a hardware problem; RAM is a likely culprit. Try running Memtest86, as well as the Blend and Large FFTs Prime95 tests.

Hey,

This really is driving me crazy.

I have 3 hard drives that I have used on another laptop but they wont work on one laptop. I thought it was RAM - That did have a problem and didnt work on the other laptop - Got new RAM so its booting up.

I cant even get the BSOD message because it shows up for less than a second before rebooting and doing the same.

Its a HP and I did a test, all memory and HD are passed, I know both work because I put it in another laptop and its working fine.

I don't know what else could be causing it..

Hope someone can help

Thanks

BCCode 124 is mainly caused by defective hardware, here the cause lies in your CPU or RAM. Ensure that none of your hardware is overclocked.

Run Prime 95 to test your CPU. Carefully the instructions in this tutorial: CPU - Stress Test with Prime95. Run 3 separate tests, one on each of the settings (Blend, Small FFTs, Large FFTs). Post back with your results.
Note that this test may overheat the CPU, ensure proper cooling.

Post back with your results.

A:from pc chips board to msi board..same problem

If ur not posting and considering what u've done coupled with the MSI diagnostics it is very likely there is a problem with this cpu.
You need to get a hold of another compatible AMD cpu just to see if u can post, from there u can confront the ebay seller for any restitution ovr the cpu if there was any kind of guarantee offered at all with the purchased items.

A:Still buggy...can you help?

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up). Make sure to close any open browsers.

Run a scan in HijackThis. Check each of the following and hit 'Fix checked' (after checking them) if they still exist (make sure not to miss any):

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [hkyvacm] c:\windows\system\hkyvacm.exe

Delete the following Files/Folders (delete folders if no filename is specified) according to their directory (if none, just do a search for them) and delete them if they exist:

c:\windows\system\hkyvacm.exe
C:\WINDOWS\CVTAPLOG.EXE

Reboot into Normal Mode and run new HijackThis scan. If there were some entries that didn't show up in Safe Mode, you may check and fix those that appear now in normal mode (if you do that, make sure to run a new scan again). Save the log file and run KRC HijackThis Analyzer in the same folder to get the result.txt log. Just post the contents of the result.txt file in the forum.

When I'm surfing the internet(this site for example), some friend of mine will say something through AIM(Aol Instant Messenger).. and it appears to crash my puter.. sometimes giving me a blue screen.. other times it just hangs.

My question is.. does anybody else have these problems or is just me? Is AIM buggy or is it probably something else installed on my computer.

I downloaded AIM about a week ago.. and that is when the problem started, although I download lots of stuff all the time. <BR
All comments are appreciated!!

Simple problem After installing Windows Seven Professional x on my Mom's laptop a couple o' days ago I set up a HomeGroup so we can share files My mom can easily access my files even from the bedroom room furtherest from my pc but when I want to get something from her libraries Buggy HomeGroup? I usually get rejected Buggy HomeGroup? saying I don't have Buggy HomeGroup? permission or her computer disappears from the HomeGroup list On my mom's PC I have set my computer to be allowed set all libraries to be shared and I checked quot Allow Streaming quot so I don't see why I have such a problem The Buggy HomeGroup? connection doesn't seem to work even when my mom's laptop is LITERALLY next to the router The connections with the router are set up like this The router gets the Internet from the DSL cable I get the Internet with another cable coming out of the router Port My mom gets a wireless connection from the router but since her laptop is kinda old she uses a USB WLAN stick to get it It's a TP-LINK USB WLAN device or something So you got any idea why I have this problem Thanks previously Stefan

A:Buggy HomeGroup?

Take a look at the Advanced Sharing Settings. There's a few settings down the list. Make sure they're consistent between your PC and your moms.

Also review the drivers for the USB wireless stick. Make sure they're up to snuff.

Your PC is W7 as well right?

I've been trying to run a full system scan with Trendmicro Housecall to no avail. When I first tried, it completed the scan in a matter of minutes despite my not selecting the quick scan option. When I tried again later it quickly shot up to 92% and ran for over two hours before I gave up. Has anyone else experienced issues like this?

A:Housecall Buggy?

It is not uncommon for some security scans to take many hours to complete. The speed and ability to complete an anti-virus or anti-malware scan depends on a variety of factors. The program itself and how its scanning engine is designed to scan: using a signature database vs heuristic scanning or a combination of both...see How an Anti-virus Program Works.Options to scan for rootkits, adware, riskware and potentially unwanted programs (PUPS).Options to scan memory, boot sectors, registry and alternate data streams (ADS).Type of scan performed: Deep, Quick or Custom scanning. What action has to be performed when malware is detected.A computer's hard drive size.Disk size and used capacity (number of files that have to be scanned).Types of files (.exe, .dll, .sys, .cab, archived, compressed, packed, email, etc) that are scanned.Whether external drives are included in the scan.Competition for and utilization of system/CPU resources by the scanner.Other running processes and programs in the background.Whether the scanning engine stalls, hangs or freezes.Interference from malware.Interference from other security programs attempting to scan at the same time.Interference from other programs attempting to update (download/install) components from the Internet.Interference from the user (whether or not you use the computer during the scan). In most cases when performing routine security checks, only a Quick Scan is needed since it checks the areas of your computer most likely to contain malware...the most prevalent and common places where malware typically hides. A Full Scan is much more comprehensive and can take a long time since it checks the entire hard drive (all folders/files) which can number in the thousands. The length of time for performing this type of scan varies because it is so comprehensive and therefore can take several hours. As such, a Full scan is generally recommended only for heavily infected systems.I have not used HouseCall in years and most experts I know do not use it either. There are several vendors which provide Online Virus Scans.ESET Online Virus Scan is one of the more effective online scanners and the one we generally recommend.

What version are you using?
Has it ever worked?
Have you got add-on's installed?
Have you checked your anti-virus and firewall settings?
Have you tried reinstalling?
Does it crash or do websites not load?

I recently installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview. Although the interface and everything is good, my computer is full of bugs & damn slow. Not only that when I leave it for awhile and it goes into sleep mode, I cannot go back to what I was previously doing without restarting the system. When the computer sleeps, it refuses to go back without me pressing the on/of button and restarting the system. What software can I use to kill and resolve all the bugs in my system? I think I have tried 100s of free software but nothing works completely. I am looking for good free software which will do the job. I am not interested in paying. M tired of this buggy laptop. Its been in the same state these past few months. Nothing helps.

A:Windows 8 is buggy

If you want a bug free system then I suggest you go back to whatever version of windows you were using before, Windows 8 is beta pre-released software so of course it's going to have bugs.

Hello!

I noticed that several weeks ago Microsoft changed the old good Updater to the new buggy one.

Sometimes I cannot install updates because I cannot select them! See the screenshots.

Week ago my hard drive died, so I bought new and reinstalled everything. Fresh system with old Updater updated well, but then new updater installed, and bug returned

Please help me to fix it. I cannot fix by myself because I have no source code of Updater (Microsoft does not publish source code of their products for unknown reason).

A:New buggy updater

Try a couple things:

1.Try reinstall Windows Update Agent How to obtain the latest version of the Windows Update Agent to help manage updates on a computer
2.Try reset the whole WU in aggressive mode How do I reset Windows Update components?
3.Try BITS repair An update is available to fix a Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) crash on a Windows Vista-based computer
4.Run cmd.exe with administrative previlliges (right click on cmd.exe as admin) and type:

fsutil resource setautoreset true C:\

Hello everyone, i have looked around and it hasn't really turned up anything that works. My Monitor seems to be buggy, red lines going up and the screen stopping, it's annyoing because i had no problems for a year or so. And it just started yesterday. My monitor is
AMD Radeon HD 8570
and my computer is a
HP Pavilion 500-281
I can give more info if needed

A:Buggy Monitor

Best test would be to test a different monitor on the computer, and/or test that monitor on a different computer. That will identify if the computer or monitor is actually the problem.

Hello grassi,

No need to get rid of dss.exe. Please run dss.exe again, but use these instructions:

Click Start>Select 'Run' - then copy/paste the following text into the run box & click OK

"%userprofile%\desktop\dss.exe" /config

In the dialog box that appears:

Under the Main Log heading-- Uncheck Temp Cleanup

Click Scan!

The main.txt and extra.txt will open up in Notepad. Copy/paste the contents of that report in your next reply.

I am trying to install an OS on a spare computer. I started by loading Win XP, using the installation disk from a destroyed computer (house fire), and the installation failed when the Product ID did not match that on \i386\unattend.txt on the same disk. I then tried Mint 13, still booting from CDROM. The boot sequence said "Booting from CD:" then carried on to XP. I tried the same disk in my "good" computer, and successfully booted from CDROM. The spare computer booted from CDROM when I tried to instal XP, did not boot from the Mint disk, my good computer did boot with same disk. Unless the CDROM in the spare computer is buggy, I can see no reason why the boot did not work. Any ideas?

A:Buggy CDROM, or what?

Any chance the drive in your spare computer is a CD-ROM and you're trying to read a DVD with it?

Hello,

I created a Ad-Hoc Network for my Mac. When I finishd, I deleted the network via Manage Wireless Networks in Control Panel.

But it says it's deleted in the Netowork and Sharing Center. But when I go click the networking icon in the taskbar, I can still see my ad-hoc network!

How can I fix this? Thanks!

A:Ad-Hoc Network buggy

I believe you have to remove it from the wifi device specifically.
In the sharing center you're just kind of telling it 'don't use this, but keep it around'.
It needs to be removed off the wifi adapter.

Hopefully you understand what I'm saying I'm pre-coffee here this morning.

I and another user have had problems recently with windows updates which we both think were due to KB Personally I found it failed when buggy? KB 3046002 I tried to install it amngst a bunch of other updates then failed at the point of download when I tried to install it again KB 3046002 buggy? after the restart from those other updates and then when I tried to use KB 3046002 buggy? windows update troubleshooter to fix this windows update became unable to check for updates at all Has anyone else experienced this sort of thing recently can anyone be sure if it was this update to blame or perhaps another one or just a random unlucky occurence This update is a security one for protecting against some form of remote code execution attacks specifically ones involving windows journal so it's not one which users want to go without and if it is buggy someone needs to contact microsoft and report this issue I fixed my issues with windows update but haven't yet tried reinstalling this one again I'm trying it again shortly I don't know if the other user http www bleepingcomputer com forums t windows-update-kb was so lucky and able to get everything working again Reports of whether others have had problems would be helpful Thanks

A:KB 3046002 buggy?

I don't have it installed right now, but my system is set to install Windows Updates on the next restart since I have some pending. I'll see if it appears after.and if it is buggy someone needs to contact microsoft and report this issue. You know that you can do it yourself, right? Usually, posting in the Microsoft forums about the update and asking the other user's input and a check-up does the job.

Hello, Welcome to BleepingComputer.I'm nasdaq and will be helping you.If you can please print this topic it will make it easier for you to follow the instructions and complete all of the necessary steps.===Please download ComboFix from one of these locations:Link 1Link 2* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your DesktopDisable your Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools
Close any open browsers, and all other programs working. Make sure you save your file if working on a document.
Do not install any other programs until this if fixed.[/b]
Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.
Some Rookit infection may damage your boot sector. The Windows Recovery Console may be needed to restore it. Do not bypass this installation. You may regret it.**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.Note: If you have difficulty properly disabling your protection programs, refer to this link --> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic114351.htmlDo not mouse click ComboFix's window while it's running. That may cause it to stall===Third party programs if not up to date can be the cause of infiltration an infection. Please run this security check for my review.Download Security Check by screen317 from here.Save it to your Desktop.Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.===Note: If after running ComboFix you get this error message "Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion." when attempting to run a program all you need to do is restart the computer to reset the registry. Please post the logs and let me know if the problem persists.

A:Buggy System

Greetings, and welcome to TSF!

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should 'not' have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' (or 'Show all files') is enabled. Also make sure that 'Display the contents of system folders' is checked. If you have Windows XP, the search feature is a little different. When you click on 'All files and folders' on the left pane, click on the 'More advanced options' at the bottom. Make sure that 'Search system folders', 'Search hidden files and folders', and 'Search subfolders' are checked.

For the options that you checked/enabled earlier, you may uncheck them after your log is clean. If we ask you to fix a program that you use or want to keep, please post back saying that (we don't know every program that exists, so we may tell you to delete a program that we think is bad to keep).

Right click on this link http://www.greyknight17.com/spy/DelO15Domains.inf and choose Save As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see anything happen). You may delete it afterwards.

===============

Go to Add/Remove programs and remove(uninstall) the following, if present:

Web Related

The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

===============

Download, then unzip to "C:\HJT", the newest version of HiJackThis; version 1.99.1. Then repost your log, either now, or after following the steps in the solution (if provided in this post). This version has features that might be more helpful in 'cleaning' up your system.

===============

Now, let's open a command prompt and unregister the dll(s) we're going to remove, by entering the following:

regsvr32 /u Loader.dll

It's ok, if these aren't found or 'error' out. If you want, just copy and paste the individual lines to the command prompt to save on the typing.

===============

Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

O2 - BHO: Loader Class - {2E246FAE-8420-11D9-870D-000C2917DE7F} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\Loader.dll

I was using my computer like I always was. Suddenlly, the screen went black and after a bit I restarted it. Upon restarting, the screen has some red pixel all over it and the screen wasn't filled up completely. I tried going to personalize to see if the resolution had anything to do with it and now the highest i could set is 32 bit instead of 64. It seems I also can't put the computer to sleep or hibernate either.

See my other thread complaining about the lack of library-sharing customization here Libraries auto-shared through media streaming You can argue that thats intended even if its stupid But I've recently been finding folders that are NOT apart of any library being streamed to my media server ps Most recent example being Public Recorded TV are so buggy Why libraries :/ Now if you read my above thread I would love it if you could only stream specific folders within the library ie public But it doesnt work that way you have to share your entire library or nothing Even though all the public folders are 'shared' media servers wont find them unless you have media streaming enabled for the libraries So I turn off public quot sharing quot and turn on library streaming and what do I see but this non-library folder being shared to my media center for no apparent reason I went as far as to delete all my libraries leaving only Why are libraries so buggy :/ one pointing to an empty folder What shows up on my ps That empty folder and public recorded tv This may not be a big deal to some of you but I find it Why are libraries so buggy :/ extremely irritating that I cant be in total control over what is shared on my network especially since I broadcast wifi for various devices It's like Why are libraries so buggy :/ I can never know whats going to pop up there

A:Why are libraries so buggy :/

Why not simply create a second library containing only the items you wish to share - deny sharing for the first and allow for the second - you can even include the second library in the first so that you can have access to both the shared and non-shared items in a singe place.

As for the public folders these are only present for ease of sharing - if they are empty then nothing will be shared

Have found this which might help
mrtstub.exe in General Security Discussion

If you think someone uses your laptop without your permission why not protect it with a password?
Or CCTV
