Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 / Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Q: Microsoft LifeCam VX-1000 / Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Hi Guys, I'm new in here. I like this forum and that was the only forum I found many solution to my problem.

The problem is simples but I don't know if is simple to resolve.

I've download the last Driver for Microsoft LifeCam 3.0 and installed. Because I know that the 3.0 version is compatible with Windows 7 x86 and x64.

No problem, the driver was installed with success but when I start the "Microsoft Life Cam" software I receive the message:

"Initialization error..."

And the weird is normal in "Device Manager":

I've just tested my Webcam in other PC running Windows 7 Ultimate x86 and work perfectly.

I guess the problem is happennig because I'm running a x64 version.

Well, somebody have any suggestion?

Thanks a lot.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Well, I'd test that x64 hypothesis if I could on another computer. It doesn't really sound right to me.

Another thing could be there was a hiccup in installing the drivers and you need to reinstall them. Uninstall the old driver completely and reinstall them.

There could be a potential hardware compatibility issue somewhere down the line.

Another thing you could do if you have the time is make a spare partition and install the x86 version on it and try the camera there and see if you still have issues, if so, then that makes it lean towards a hardware incompatibility issue.

I bought this, got the Vista software for it and installed on my HP PC with
Windows Home Basic. Device Manager says it's working properly, but the
shortcut won't open the program or start the camera. Anybody else have this
camera and problems? I've reinstalled the software twice. Maybe three will
be a charm, but I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Welcome to TSG!

What OS are you running?
Which of the steps in the KB article the error message referred you to have you tried?

Most likely just need to download an updated driver from the download center, the link is in Step 2 under Method 1.

I have a new Microsoft Lifecam VX-1000 and I am trying to install the software to run it. After loading the CD and giving all the right answers and permission the install process goes into Internet download and install mode. About 65% through this phase, I get an error message that the install can't be completed due to a problem with my Internet connection.
The Internet connection is fine.
I have rerun this install attempt 6 times now from the CD and 3 times from a software packet I downloaded from Microsoft. The result is always the same and at the exact same point in the process. The green line is about 65% across in the download and install phase. I hope someone can give me an idea as to why this might be happening or how to get my camera to work by some other method.

A:Lifecam VX-1000 software won't install

Well no-one seems to be able to figure out the problem so I solved it the easy way; I gave the VX-1000 away and bought an inexpensive Logitech which installed easily and worked immediately. Maybe the moral is just stay away from MS hardware.

Why doesn't my microsoft lifecam work with windows 7? Is there a simple way to fix this problem?

A:Windows 7/Microsoft Lifecam

We would need the model number to tell you a reason to why it is not working, and if there is a fix.. If there is no supported driver for windows7, you may need to attempt to use a Windows Vista driver and run it in compatibility mode.

If these options are not possible, you may have to purchase a new one.

Please reply back with the model of the webcam.

Microsoft Lifecam 5000 Problem - I have read a lot of posts on the microsoft website when I googled the problem and I tried most of it. Nothing worked.

I have reinstalled drivers, software, tried different usb slots, RR computer countless times.

Basically - the computer knows that its connected and can see it - but then it wont work. For example - skype recognises that its a LifeCam 5000 and the light on the cam turns on for a bit, but no picture. It has worked before on Skype but now it won't for some reason.

The LifeCam software says that there is no webcam connected to the computer, which is also weird if skype can see that it is connected. So I am stuck.

Anyone have any idea's please!!

Cheers

Hi whitepanda!
As you can see it's a driver problem, first of all go to Device Manager (right click Computer icon, select Mange, select Device Manager) and check for ! mark (yellow color) if it's there click on it and remove driver, and try to install the driver again, is it just driver or the whole application?

Hi Everyone,

I know there are several other threads on this topic already but I have a unique problem. I can install LifeCam software fine sometimes but the driver never installs for the camera. The few times I get the LifeCam installed, it always just showed up as no camera connected. When I try to use Device Manager to "Update driver software", no matter what I try, the last screen always say, "Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device." Then several lines down it says, " The extended attributes are inconsistent." Has anyone else discovered this problem? I would really appreciate your help! Thanks!

A:un-installing microsoft lifecam vx-3000

Maybe I should not post this for fear it will get you into trouble; but, here goes anyway. First off, I have done this little procedure, myself, many times with success; but, this information, misused, can destroy an OS.

The problem with the developer-furnished uninstalls is that they are almost always incomplete so I find myself frequently editing the Windows Registry (in this case, deleting lines) to get rid of annoying remnants like the one you describe.

First, I would create a complete drive image of the partition containing my operating system. Then, I would start Regedit and do a search for every line containing "lifecam" (sans quotes). I would delete every line I found containing that text string and every line I accidentally found as a result of that search that is related to lifecam.

There you have it. If you try this, please do the imaging part first so you don't wind up with just four toes.

I am running MicroSoft Windows XP, Service Pack 3, using Parallels Desktop 7 for Mac, Build 7.0.15107, on a MacBook (2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, OS X 10.6.8). I have a Microsoft LifeCam HD 6000 connected through a USB hub that I use for Skype. Since I upgraded Parallels Desktop the other day, the webcam is no longer recognized by the computer. I know I could fix the problem by disconnecting and reconnecting the camera. But this is a remote computer which I control with LogMeIn, and that is not an option. Is there any way I can 'trick' the computer (Windows or Mac OS) into thinking I have done that? If you have any ideas or need more info, please be as specific as you can. I don't know much about computers. Thank you.

A:[SOLVED] Microsoft Lifecam HD 6000 not seen

Does the Hub have it's own power adapter? (this would increase the power provided by the USB port to the devices plugged into the hub) When you use a USB hub, it diminishes the power from the USB port. Devices that require more power like HDD's Cameras etc as a opposed to keyboards or mice, may not get recognized by the computer. Unless the Hub is self powered.
The solution is to plug the USB device directly into the computer.
You can go to Start/Run and type devmgmt.msc and press enter. In the Device Manager are there any devices with yellow flags? Or under Universal Serial Bus Controllers is there an Unknown Device? If so, right click it and Uninstall it. Now right click any device and choose Scan For Hardware Changes, this should recognize the device and reinstall it. If it comes back with a yellow flag or as an Unknown Device, then it needs to be plugged into the computer directly and not through a hub.

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate - 64bit version.
My video camera is Microsfot VX-7000.
My Lifecam software is Windows 7 64bit compatible, release 3.0

My Lifecam software installed without problems but when I double-click on the LifeCam software, I get an BLANK screen with a message that states "no camera connected".

However, when I run/use Skype (latest version 4.1.0.179), the camera works without problems, which confirms that the camera is OKAY.

I have checked Microsoft Support and found article KB933311 titled "No camera connected" error message, and the video preview is blank when you start the LifeCam software: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933311

but none of those issues effect me, nor did it solve anything.

So, what is happening? Any ideas?

Hi everyone, I just installed Vista Ultimate 64 bit on my Vostro 1000 and was wondering if anyone knew where 64 it drivers were.
It runs great, but I can't find a chipset driver for it.
Thanks in advance.

A:Vostro 1000 Vista Ultimate 64 bit Drivers

BadgerJoe, welcome to the forums.

Not sure if the chipset driver is included in this,

ATI Catalyst? Legacy Display Driver

as both the chipset (RS480) and the video adapter (Xpress 1150) have been declared legacy status due to their age. It will have a video driver that should work with it (may not due to being a laptop), and there is a good possibility that the chipset driver is included in the package. One way to find out is when installing to select Custom instead of Express install, that way you will be able to see what drivers will be installed.

Hi,

I have a Microsoft Wireless Desktop 1000 which includes a mouse, keyboard and receiver. I bought it around 4 years ago. Since then I've lost the CD with the drivers on.

I went to Microsoft and located the Windows 7 drivers (IntelliPoint & IntelliType). Installed them and connected in my receiver.
Nothing happens when I plug the receiver in. When I press the button on the receiver and then press "connect" on the back of the keyboard/mouse, the green lights on the receiver stop flashing and all stay off.

I have no idea what to do from here as I have all the drivers available, yet I don't think the computer recognises the receiver.

My PC is running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit.

All help is appreciated.

A:Microsoft Wireless Desktop 1000

Did this work with your previous operating system ?
I found this.Might require some research on the Motherboard and recent and available updates regarding w7.
Hi,

I need to explain that this issue mostly can be caused due to your motherboard or BIOS is not fully compatible with Windows 7. If this is the truth, you may need to wait for the next updates for the motherboard and the BIOS from the hardware manufacturer.

I suggest you check the “Allow this device to wake the computer” back for both the wireless mouse and keyboard. Now, you can reproduce the issue and run the following command, then paste the result here.

A:cOUNTERFIET WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE AND MICROSOFT OFFICE PRO 2010

The question is this: Why did you buy these on line (I can understand this from a cost prospective), and, more importantly, why from a Chinese seller? Surely alarm bells should have been ringing. Much of the world's counterfeit software originates from China and the surrounding area.

You said you went to your local Currys and contacted PC World (same DGS group), so why didn't you buy the software from them? It would have saved you all this hassle and mess that you have now found yourself in.

I recently got a Microsoft Mouse 1000 wireless mouse
Great reviews on Amazon - but I'm not impressed
Seems super basic
Wish I'd gone for something else

The scrolling really sucks
When I move the wheel it seems to scroll just one line at a time
I've tried changing general mouse settings and have that set so that scrolling takes 10 lines at a time
This has no effect

Does anyone know how to change?

Thanks

I have the MS Wireless Media Desktop 1000 which has the wireless keyboard and mouse.

What I want to know is if I do not like it after using it for some time, how can I uninstall it (software, I guess you would call it) completely?

I do not see anything on the Internet, in the small booklet, etc.

Please advise and thank you.

I'd check your add/remove programs list for anything relating to the device. But since it's a microsoft product, it's hot keys might be automaticly setup to run what's in your "Set Programs access and defaults" list, so there may not be any software to remove.

I have cleared the registry.
I have uninstalled the previous trial office
I have uninstalled ultimate and reinstalled
Turned off the User security
looked at loads of threads
Am at a loss and would be grateful for any help.

I've just installed Adobe Photoshop CS3 on a fresh-install of Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate on my laptop computer, and now, Adobe Photoshop CS3 is running incredibly slowly.

Even hovering over the buttons in the palette, it can take up to five seconds to show the 'bevel' hover effect on the buttons prior to clicking. Opening new documents, new layers, et cetera, all takes way too long.

My laptop is 2.27GHZ, 2GB RAM computer with a 4.1 Windows Experience Index...so, it shouldn't be running this slowly.

I did a search and found that some people with the same problem were able to run Adobe Photoshop CS3 in compatibility mode under Microsoft Windows XP (Service Pack 2), but this solution didn't work for me.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

My system is currently running a Microsoft Windows XP SP3 32 bit version of windows. Since me and family members do most of the things in the current OS. So, I'm planning to keep it.
Can i now install Microsoft Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit as a dual boot operating system. I've read the pros and cons of a 64 bit OS. It's obviously good in terms of being able to get the most out of my 4 GB installed RAM plus the graphic card. Hello people. I am new Here and first of all I want to say Hello!

Well, two days ago I bought the Microsoft LifeCam Vx 6000 and I installed it over Windows 7 64 bits version. The cam Works but the quality image is... very granulated. It's not clear. I tried to change with all webcam Resolutions but always seems granulated.

Here is an example of how my webcam does look: Imageshack - 20091230233037436

and the another problem is.. When I use the option of "Show your webcam to a friend" in Windows Live Messenger the Webcam Image is very lagged like if my internet connection was slow.. but I have a 3 MB internet connection. If I use the "Video Call" option, the Webcam Image looks just fine.

I am using the LifeCam 3.0 Drivers for Windows 7.

Not sure its a app problem or LifeCam Studio issue.
I've purchased a new desktop and install Windows 10 Home edition (fresh install). After using for 1 month, I get a webcam (LifeCam Studio). The cam is good and no need to install anything, the "Camera App" work right away. However, when I launch theTranslator app, when I click on the camera icon, the following message display:
"We couldn't get your camera started. Try using the keyboard to translate."
Check and confirmed that under:setting->Privacy->Camra is turned on and allow translator to use the camera
Why can't the translator app make use the cam and how to resolve it ? Thanks.

What if Microsoft made a pure laptop. Similar to a MacBook in function.
I'm talking a pure laptop form, no touch screen, removable screen etc. Just a great keyboard, full HD or QHD screen, great speakers etc.
Having good specs with a tier system would also be cool.
Id love the idea of the surface book however the detachable screen is just one extra thing to break, and the hinge doesn't capture my fancy.

I use my desktop for documents at home but sometimes I use my laptop when I'm away and it would be inconvenient if I have to buy another license just to install the program on it legitimately. And if that isn't an option, if I decided to do it anyway, would MS send death ninjas to my door step?

I located the folder Ultimater.WW, but it isn't working, instead it says "Invalid location", plus I checked the folder and I found UltimaterWW (Windows Installer Package) Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm currently in the installation process, but it's not moving any where because of this damn error.
Like I said, any help would be great.. Thanks!

*Edit: didn't realize the business application section, so feel free to move this to there*

Greetings And Welcome To The Forums!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your malware problems. I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.
Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.
A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE: At the top of your post, click on the Watch Topic Button, select Immediate Notification, and click on Proceed.
