I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
i found the solution
I was having the same issues as listed above, also using windows 7. Everything would install but I could not access settings for the blue tooth dongle, What I did to fix this was entered the services settings (windows search - services -) and check everything that says bluetooth. also change all settings to automatic.
hello.I updated my laptop from win 7 to win 10 home. Bluetooth was working fine when i updated with "keep everything" option. But when i did a clean install of win 10 again, my pc is not detecting bluetooth devices. now only 2 drives are there in device manager for bluetooth. i.e Generic bluetooth adapter and ms bluetooth enumerator. Bluetooth icon is visible in notification pannel and i'm able to turn it on/off. But my pc is not able to pair with bluetooth devices, it doesn't show the list of nearby bluetooth devices itself. i just see the scearcing process in the screen.pls help a.s.ap. What bluetooth devices do you have that will be utilized with this laptop? What install discs do you have for these devices? Have you tried to connect them?
What relevant devices show up in the Device Manager?
Installed a Speaker Mojo. Blue Tooth Management says it is paired. When Mojo turned on, computer message says it is connected to the "Audio Gateway" service on your computer. However, no sound comes through the Mojo when playing music from my iTunes "my music" list. Only sound through laptop speakers.
I have a similar problem with my new laptop.
My Latitude E7450 pairs with and connects to my Beats Studio Wireless headset, but they do not work.
During the automatic driver search, 3 out of 4 drivers do not install. Microsoft has no answer, Beats has no answer, and Dell has no other drivers.

Hello Dell, I am facing a problem of new unrecognized "Bluetooth Peripheral Device".
my laptop is inspiration N5110.
when i send some file from my mobile to laptop
i fall in some problem
in device manager i have 4 Bluetooth Peripheral Device with yellow mark in other device catagory please help how to get rid of this
i tried uninstalling but it backs again..
why there are 4 unrecognized "Bluetooth Peripheral Device ?
plz help me out
The Blue Tooth device drivers appear corrupted. Try to uninstall and it is always safe and prudent to download the drivers from the Dell site. For that you have to register( I don't know why they are making it tough). Kindly visit this site to register and then to download the drivers for your model of Dell.
plz see the picture give me a solution
why i have 5 bluetooth peripheral device located in other device.
how to remove all 5 bluetooth peripheral device ?
You've told us very little to nothing about your actual hardware. My guess is your motherboard has a bluetooth device in it that you haven't loaded the drivers for.
Hard to say with no specific information on your system.
can anyone give me the solution for this problem?
Is this a laptop with built in bluetooth or is this a dongle? Either way, you'll need to provide more detail in order for anyone to assist you. What is the model of the laptop or dongle?http://www.vistax64.com/drivers/192676-bluetooth-peripheral-device-problem.html
Hello I've been trying to use my PS Bluetooth headset as usual on my PC for ventrilo but ever since I've had a probelm with my PC Ram where I had to remove them and place them in different slot Bluetooth detail) of (lot device problem it doesn't seam to work anymore I have a window -bit and I'm using a Bluetooth adapter on my pc dongle to be able to have a bluetooth device section Here are all the step I took I've tried to open my mic like usual it registered the mic like usual But the B icon never turned green like normal to say that the headset device was connected and the headset in the device list never got Bluetooth device problem (lot of detail) the green check mark on it Still the computer did as if sound should have come to a headset device because the speaker didn't play audio anymore After multiple test I decided to start from a blank sleeve I've deleted the program for the driver Bluetooth Software download broadcom Bluetooth device problem (lot of detail) unplugged my adapter and restarted the whole thing Where I've replaced back my adapter in the only port that seam to be enable for Bluetooth adapter for the software to detect it install the driver take a good minute and finish installation After doing all this I did the usual add a device to the bluetooth section Did the normal registery of my mic Here something I don't remember when pairing it gave me option a Pairing with a code b make a code for me to pair c device doesn't need a pairing code I went for C because A still gave error and B didn't do much either unless it was my cell phone Anyway the C gave me a headset registered on my computer but never connected with it after so I could use is to the full potential Here some of the troubleshoot I did to narrow my problem I've tested my PS headset and it work fine on both my PS no I have my ps close normaly and on my cell phone for the call feature I've then troubleshoot my cell phone LG-P h with android to add in the bluetooth device where it registered and paired with a code that I had to accept on my cell to then be add in the device available But I was never able to connect it with my PC to do file transfer or web connection I've then did lot of google research around my problem trying multiple set of word to find something around my problem but nothing help I've narrow it down to possible problem that I can't check Either A it's my bluetooth adapter that doesn't work a fully as it should or the USB port com can't seam to be able to work the bluetooth adapter right I haven't figure out a good way to troubleshoot them or find something around them Finally best solution I could find would be to buy a new Badapter and give it a try but I'm gonna wait to troubleshoot it with maybe a friend computer I don't want to waste money before knowing what really is the problem Please give me good advice that I was not able to find anywhere elsehttp://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/502509/bluetooth-device-problem-lot-of-detail/

Sounds like it may be one of those cheap csr adapters.
In the device manager, right click the generic bluetooth
adapter and click update driver.
Let windows search automatically.
It may pull the csr driver from windows update and then
install aditional drivers.

"Windows found drivers softwear for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it "

In windows 10 mobile, I can go into my bluetooth devices, and 'disconnect' a specific device. In Windows 10, I can only 'remove' the device (which I don't want to do) or turn off BlueTooth altogether.
Does anybody know a way to just disconnect a device? For instance, I want to have my headphones connect to my phone instead of the PC.
'Remove device' is probably not the best choice of words they could have used on this! When you close the process (i.e. 'disconnect' your headphones) on your PC, you are performing the same function as what you describe on your phone. You are not actually removing the device, just closing the process. I hope that makes sense!http://forums.windowscentral.com/windows-10/432936-how-disconnect-bluetooth-device-without-turning-off-bluetooth.html

Model is Acer Aspire One D270.
Internal bluetooth doesn't work.
Nothing in device manager.
Fn+F3 is meant to control it, but doesn't.
May be because I've messed with some programs.
Trying to re-install to factory settings.
Any suggestions at all?
edit: The machine is Win7 baby (starter?), x86_32.
What programs did you remove or mess with? Have you tried repairing these programs?http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/261938-bluetooth-device-not-device-manager-no-hardware-switch-acer-netbk.html

Problem solved. I'm typing this on my phone so I'm going to leave out some details.
1. Remove all non-Windows Bluetooth drivers
2. Disable all problem devices in Device Manager
3. Stop and Disable Bluetooth support service
4. Use PSexec(64).exe to launch regedit as system allowing me to delete keys
5. Delete all keys related to parent Bluetooth device (07f92671... as pictured above)
6. Uninstall Generic Bluetooth adapter and scan system to make sure devices do not return
7. Restart PC
8. Set Bluetooth support service to automatic and start it
9. Install manufacturer provided Bluetooth drivers and have an awesome day. finally
So I did some searching for a way to fix this problem but I believe that my problem is different than the Bluetooth Peripheral Device problem that most people have.
I am NOT trying to connect a cell phone to my laptop. I am not trying to connect anything I don't think (unless my bluetooth mouse counts?).
I have no idea what a Bluetooth Peripheral Device is. I took some screenshots of the messages I receive every time a wake my computer up or turn it on. (1st, smaller picture)
It tries to update a driver but always fails and gives me this. (2nd, larger picture)
The suggestion my laptop gives me is this
There may be an easy solution to this, but I feel really lost right now.
Thanks in advance!

Have you got a headset for your phone.

Hello Microsoft, I recently bought an Asus Gamepad. This is a gaming controller that connects through bluetooth. And I got it to pair the first time and for some odd reason I went and removed it shortly after I had paired it. And now it won't show up when
my computer try's to discover bluetooth devices. Please help, this controller would really help me to things smoother on my computer.
I am having difficulty to get my laptop paired with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone. If I attempt to connect from the cell phone to my pc, a key code is asked for and needs be entered.
My question is how I can get this key code which needs be entered on the Bluetooth Device. On the laptop I navigated from Control Panel and to Bluetooth Devices, then clicked Add Wireless Device, but no device is detected even though the Bluetooth on the cell phone was turned on. Device Manager indicates drivers for the Bluetooth device are installed correctly.
Today I was installed windows 7 Professional (64 bit) but there is no wireless connection or bluetooth. I tried to install driver software for both wireless & bluetooth device which is (Mediatek) ralink, but no result>>> there is no yellow sign in the device manager as well. Recently I attempted to connect to an existing paired connection to my phone via bluetooth. I have never had this problem before, yet suddenly Bluetooth is missing. There is no longer an icon in the taskbar, the setting in "PC and Devices" is missing, and there appears to not be a driver installed, rather, an ""Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)" appears in my devices instead. I have taken many steps to attempt and fix this, such as:
manually starting Bluetooth services from services.mscuninstalling the "Unknown Device" driver, then attempting to let Windows reinstalldownloaded the driver software from Lenovo for the Bluetooth adapter, installed it manually restartedtake a system restore created yesterday and revert back to it
Everything else in the PC functions perfectly. Any help is appreciated
I had a similar problem recently where my bluetooth seemed to have just disappeared.
I ran the Find and Fix problems with devices (Just typed it into the start screen). It found one thing which by memory said something about a usb device being disabled. Clicked for it to fix the problem and enable it. Sure enough my bluetooth was right back.
Not sure if it will work for you, but its worth a try.

I have recently bought brand new hp pavilion dv6 laptop. I haven't use the bluetooth feature till today when I needed to transfer a file from laptop to my mobile. Any ideas ?
Hi folks, I've got a Pavilion dv6-3138tx, product number QC331PA#ABG. I can't work out how to enable bluetooth - I'm not sure if there was an update to my machine recently, but there's no longer a bluetooth option in my system tray. I can see the device in BIOS so it's definitley there. I've had bluetooth working on this laptop before, connected to wireless headphones, and I'd like to set it up again. Windows update is all up to date, and I can see an 'unknown device' in device manager but apparently no drivers available... any ideas?

I'm trying to use a bluetooth speaker with my HP Pavilion g7-2275dx Notebook PC but I'm not sure if I have the ablility to to do that? I can't plug outboard speakers into the jack because it's damaged and doesn't connect because someone accidentally kicked the speaker cable and damaged the the jack. Thanks
Hi: Below is the link to the product specs page for your notebook. It does not come with built in bluetooth networking, or that feature would have been listed along with the 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN Wireless Connectivity specification. The easiest thing you can do would be to purchase an external USB bluetooth adapter. You can also try and replace the internal wireless card with one listed in the service manual for your notebook that is also a combination wireless/bluetooth card. The card must be listed in the service manual and it must have the HP part number on it or it won't work. Because your notebook has an AMD processor, you cannot install any Intel wireless cards if any are listed in the manual.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Does-my-HP-Pavilion-g7-2275dx-Notebook-PC-have-bluetooth/td-p/5596858
Hello guys, I want to update my computer to have a Bluetooth 4.0 connection, i've tryed some PCI-e boards but It was not compatible...Do you know any PCI-e board wifi and Bluetooth 4.0 that is compatible with Pavilion G6? Thank you
Need exact model and the big question is whether it is in the "whitelist" era. Generally anything with a 4th gen Intel Core or newer is past the whitelist and you can install any wireless or wifi-bluetooth card of the same form factor as long as you have at least 2 antennae which I believe the G6 models do.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Wifi-and-Bluetooth-module-for-Pavilion-G6/td-p/5786320

Help me out please!!!!!!!!!!
Well your DM4 was built for Windows 7, so it depends if HP wrote Bluetooth drivers that will work under Windows 8. A quick check of HP's support site, shows that they have updated software for the DM4 series.

There is a Bluetooth driver under networking.
The only other thing is to check the Device Manager and see if the Bluetooth is even recognized. If it isn't listed (could be listed as a generic unknown device if the driver isn't installed), you may have a hardware problem.
Check all that and install the driver. If it is still not listed in the Device Manager, go buy a $14 Bluetooth 4.0 usb device. Asus has a great one on Amazon. It should work great and will be more up current standards since it is 4.0.
Before I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10, I had the Windows 8.1 operating system. With this there was a bluetooth driver installed already. Except now my laptop seems to be missing a bluetooth driver and I can't find one I can install from the HP website or even on the AMD website. Please help at least identificate which manufacturer bluetooth I need to install drivers. Thank you for help!
Hi: What model wireless netowork adapter does your notebook have? You install the corresponding model bluetooth driver for the model wireless network adapter your notebook has. I doubt you will get the ACPI\ACPI000E device to install on W7. I have zipped up and attached the driver for it, but most of the time it won't install. You have to manually install it by browsing to the driver folder from the device in the device manager.

I had the same problem with a Dell Notebook and fortunately Dell had already posted Win10-compatible drivers.
The Bluetooth device list always shows my older phone which is already broken long time ago. When I delete it, it re-appears after a while, or possibly after a reboot. How can I permanently remove it?
Have you uninstalled it in device manager? You may have to show hidden items under the view section.http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/329825-how-remove-bluetooth-device.html

there maybe a HP wireless assistant that also manages the bluetooth
shows the bluetooth controlled by the wireless switch - but on my older HP Laptop - the HP wireless assistant controlled the bluetooth and the wireless separately

Enable the PC connection instead of the headset, something along those lines?

Dell and Microsoft both say it should be on there, but Dell won't help me, they say it will cost me. Can you please help me. I did have some nasy viruses infected my computer a while back, and I have had to reinstall alot. I know that it use to be on my computer, but now it is gone.
First off stop panicking, if it was there before then odds on it will still be there somewhere, take a deep breath and check the following,
Go into the BIOS and check that the Bluetooth function is enabled, to enter the BIOS look at the start up screen as your PC comes to life for a message such as "press ... to enter BIOS/Setup.
Go to dells website here, put in your service tag and check for any drivers related to Bluetooth, if there is any download them and install them, but check the above first, there is no point installing a driver if the device is disabled.
Post back and let us know, oh and the model of the laptop is a good idea.
I am running Windows 10 and my Bluetooth is not working. I have the Bluetooth-related services enabled and I have tried to reinstall the drivers, but those did nothing. The device shows the following message in Device Manager:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
I am trying to connect a Plantronics BackBeat FIT. Any help is appreciated.

I want to change OWN Bluetooth device name. I am using windows 8 which comes with my new laptop Dell Inspiron 15z. The company has set my default bluetooth name as "User". However I want it to be changed but I have no idea how.
I have tried going to Device manager, Devices and printers etc. but I couldn't find a solution.
Thanks in advance
Try going to Control Panel > Hardware & Sound > Device Manager, In Device Manager "Expand" after then right click on your Bluetooth, Go to Advance Tab there you can give a new name.http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/31264-how-change-own-bluetooth-device-name.html
