I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I don't have much to offer other than suggesting you have to latest drivers installed for the machine...

Hi, I have a windows 7. I have found the bluetooth in my computer, it says "fsquirt" aswell. When I open the file, it says send files or recieve files. So if i click on Send Files, it says " select where to send your files" with a large box under it which i cannot type in. If i press recieve files, it says " windows was unable to transfer some files, an address incompatible with the requested protocol was used.
So i dont know how to fix this!?! Help please? I'm trying to send videos from my phone to my computer via bluetooth!
Alright guys, I have just refreshed my pc because I was having numerous problems with it and it turned out to be a bad stick of RAM. However, now I am having software issues. Whenever I try to make a call on the desktop version of skype, the program crashes. Whenever I try to open HP support assistant, the program crashes. When i am using the metro app version of skype I get a weird artifacting type problem on any of the buttons. I have this same problem in internet explorer and on Netflix. Netflix will not play on Chrome. It will play on IE, but with the button artifacting problems. My computer will not pair via bluetooth with my phone. What would be your recommended course of action? I don't know where to begin. I have tried updating drivers and the like but it has not helped.
Microsoft zune won't work either. It crashes when trying to set up.http://www.eightforums.com/software-apps/40103-bluetooth-wont-work-skype-wont-work-ntflix-won-t-work.html
Hi! I've bought a new xps 15 and I've had some problem: when I'm connected with wifi at home, I can't use the Bluetooth because if I turn on the Bluetooth and I try to connect a device , the wifi drop and nobody at home can use it. For example it'impossible to have a call with my bluetooth headphone. I tried to update the driver but I've had the same problem. Is there a solution for this problem? I'm sorry for my English.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3518/t/19981670
Whenever I have my bluetooth enabled and am connected to a device, the connection to my wifi network is broken. It says that it is unable to find a network to connect to. However, when bluetooth is disabled, this problem immediately goes away. Any ideas as to what is going on? I've had Windows troubleshoot my network adapter, but it couldn't find any problems. I am using a HP Pavilion dm4t running Windows 8.
Sure sounds like the Bluetooth is interfering with the Wi-Fi. It should not. Are both integrated? One card that does both? Has this occurred since day one of a new PC? Still under warranty?
hi i recently bought a refurbished laptop off of ebay, ibm levono r40. wile i was setting it up i tryed to tune on the wifi and bluetooth. i pushed the button and got this message...

Hello friendly Techguy community.
I have this fancy Bluetooth keyboard with a built in mouse pad for my stationary desktop computer, and I am trying to use it over a range that it can't particularly handle.
My question is there a way to possible solve this issue by sending the signal over my wifi router? such as an adapter set that I can be attached to the sender and receiver of my keyboard?
Any other suggestions to solve this problem are also welcomed.

Hey guys, so I bought a Lenovo desktop (Y900-34ISZ Desktop (ideacentre) - Type 90DD) a few weeks back and bluetooth and wifi were supposed to be included, altho I can't find them. I've tried downloading every possible drivers, updates, watching multiple solution tutorials etc. It seems like my PC doesn't support bluetooth/wifi after all. I can't find the bluetooth under the devices section, it won't appear. Altho, it does appear on the commando center from time to time (no function whatsoever), just to dissapear again. Same thing goes for wifi - it's not there. I've basically given up on trying to fix it so I'd appreciate all the help i can get.https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-E-H-K-M-Q-Y-and-ErazerX/Can-t-find-bluetooth-wifi/td-p/3470818

No. Why should it? Something else is going on, if you Internet speed went down. Most likely your WiFi card, which also does Bluetooth, is needing a little tweaking.
What is the manufacturer & model of the laptop, along with the wifi & bluetooth chipset info.
Hi all. I'm not sure if this question should go into this forum but here goes. I have a PC I planned to hook up to a TV. The PC would use 802.11g WiFi to access my home network and the Internet. I started looking for a mini keyboard/mouse to use with this and realized that there might be an issue using either Bluetooth or 2.4 GHz band devices (that aren't Bluetooth). The PC would have a WiFi NIC in it and something, either a Bluetooth adapter or other 2.4 GHz device, connected and used at the same time. How do people get around this issue other then utilizing 802.11n?

Hi: Below are the the links to the W10 wireless and bluetooth drivers you need. http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_150624_1 http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_150748_1 It also appears that you are missing the AMD graphics driver (video controller). This package provides the AMD High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver and Catalyst Control Center for supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. For notebooks with switchable graphics modes, this package includes drivers for both graphics processing units (GPUs). Switchable graphics enable users to switch between a power-saving graphics mode (normally used under battery power) and a high-performance graphics mode. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver. wifi usb adapter edimax ac450 and bluetooth logilink module are not working for me.
Wifi doesn't see any network. I've installed proper drivers.
Bluetooth sees and connects to devices, but after that every device goes grey and "unavailable"
I've just set up new system and it still occurs. What can I do about it?
Try in Safe Mode with Networking.
And sometimes wireless gets disabled when cable connection is made. Try removing the LAN cable and see if wireless come alive.
Bluetooth: Is the Bluetooth service running? (services.msc)
I have seen a few printers that have USB and Wifi connections, I have also seen a small point and shoot digital camera that transfered it's pictures via wifi instead of bluetooth. Is bluetooth being phased out? Does this mean bluetooth is dieing? I know that wifi has a higher data transfer rate so it's more convenient but I can't imaging a wifi mouse or a wifi earphone.
Bluetooth isn't dying, but is becoming something more integrated. Some speculate that cars will use it instead of internal cabling (bad idea if you ask me).
But wifi is better for some applications, as it allows the device to get inside a network and communicate with any device inside that network (so it's why wifi is pretty prevalent in printers along the Ethernet interface), while bluetooth is usually used for a temporary very-short-range connection between two devices. So you get bluetooth operated smart locks, sensors and other stuff that would make no sense to put on Wifi.
I can't imaging a wifi mouse or a wifi earphone
Why not? They are just different data transfer protocols over radio waves.

Hi, I bought my notebook "HP Pavilion g6" on January 2013. It was working fine until last month though I was facing some connection problems with wifi after upgradation to Windows 10. Suddenly, after some updates, the wifi and bluetooth adapters have disappeared. I tried to rectify the problem by trying out the solutions given everywhere, but no luck. The adapter itself is missing. Even after downloading the adapter, its not shown in the device manager as well as the network connections. Hence, I am not able to connect to wifi. Please help me with this issue. Thank you,Yadukrishnan Nairhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/NEED-HELP-WITH-WIFI-AND-BLUETOOTH-CONNECTIVITY-ISSUES/td-p/5797257
I have a Sony Vaio with a switch on the front that turns WIRELESS on/off. Whenever I turn the switch 'off', I get a pop-up box that says something like 'Alert: Wireless has been turned off'. The pop-up also had an option to turn off this notification. I turned off this notification a week ago but now i would like to turn it back on. I have been looking at a lot of settings on my computer but I don't know how to turn it back on.
Does any one know how to turn the notification back on?
Thanks in advance.
Hello and Welcome to 7Forums!
Try Right-Clicking the Taskbar>Properties >Customize(button)> And select the notification from there!
Hi, I've posted about this before, but as I got no reply, I think I'd better do so again. Basically, the Wireless N-2230 and various BT adapters on this machine are insane. If I switch the BT off, the WiFi refuses to work, and even spontaneously 'loses' its drivers sometimes! The BT itself misbehaves when this happens, and sometimes keeps switching itself back on when I try to turn it on. I've tried everything, but the only thing that works is a forced reboot. In addition, I've had a 'Fan Error' AND a second Thermal Sensing Error this week. Are there *any* software fixes I can try before going through an expensive motherboard replacement to save this machine? TIA for answershttps://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-11e-Windows-E-and-Edge/Wifi-amp-bluetooth-adapters-have-minds-of-their-own-E530/td-p/3348702
Hello I just bought a brand new computer days ago Haven't been using it that long It's an HP Envy qe or something like that The first day I played on it windows updates were downloaded The computer has built in Bluetooth which I love switch and no settings Wifi PC on/off Bluetooth in but I noticed it was always-on and Bluetooth and Wifi no on/off switch in PC settings was wondering if there was an on off switch I searched Google and seen there is an on off switch in PC Settings PC Devices Bluetooth Unfortunately I do not Bluetooth and Wifi no on/off switch in PC settings have this Also under PC Settings and Network I do not have an on off switch for the wifi I also don't have anything in PC Settings called Wireless I talked with HP support since I just bought this computer their only option was to do a System Restore or Recovery I talked to Microsoft support and their only option was to pay for a premium membership so they could use their 'advanced tools' to scan my system and find out the problem which is my long history of dealing with computers and support their answer would have probably been the same which was System Restore or Recovery at which who even knows if this is going to fix the problem So now I come to this community my first time here wave asking for assistance I temporarily disabled my Bluetooth in Device Manager because I don't know if it's safe to have it constantly on if I'm not using it I've seen on here there are other people who have had the same problem but I didn't see a definite solution on the couple threads I read Also just before disabling my Bluetooth I ran HP support assistant and it had a couple updates Then when I went to restart my computer Windows Update had another update still no option was showing to turn Bluetooth on off or Wifi on off Also come to think of it I haven't ever seen the option to turn Bluetooth on off the past three days I've owned the computer If for some reason I cannot fix this issue is it harmful to keep the Bluetooth always on I don't want harm the computer if it's constantly sitting there searching for Bluetooth devices if I'm not using them or don't plan on using them
Hi summerbear. I can try something that works on my MSI laptop (a great brand BTW), and I think most of todays' laptops.
Usualy there's an allin1 manager to all of the options you mentioned, and it is accessible through the start line in windows (at the bottom). Most of the time you don't see all the icons of programs running, and there's a little upward arrow in far right side of the start line, that if clicked reveals sound, storage, and allin1 managers installed in your system. In my laptop this manager program that includes control over volume, wi-fi, and bluetooth, is called SCM. I'm not sure that HP's has the exact same program but there's supposed to be some type of allin1. If you don't find any try typing "Bluetooth" in windows search (through the start button), and shutting down wi-fi is also possible by clicking the network bars in the far right, thus accessing the list of nearby wi-fi networks, choosing the one you're connected to, and clicking "disconnect".
Hope I helped, goodluck.
Trying to be certain I have all the W10 drivers ... so using the System Detect feature which, I don't think is working. Trying to fix:
Computer boots to Ethernet connection .. and a bluetooth icon on the taskbar ... near clock. If I try to switch to WiFi with keyboard combination Fn F2 ... I do NOT get WiFi, instead, TOUCHPAD is disabled and bluetooth icon remains.
Cannot seem to attain WiFi. The adapter is there and 'working properly'.
Suspecting a driver issue (recently upgraded to W10 from 8.1), trying to check drivers. System Detect has been running for HOURS ... with a lot of disk activity, but seems 'hung' (see screen shot).
Computer is on the Dell W10 approved list. Inspiron 3521. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Wireless card driver may be corrupted I would suggest you to reinstall the driver. Please punch in the system service tag or express service code from the link below. Then Click on System configuration tab and then Click on Components and find the wireless card of the system and then download the wireless card driver found under Network section. http://dell.to/18r60nI
If you are not able to determine the wireless card. Please private message me the system service tag so that I can check and provide you the correct driver.
Please let me know if this helps.

Actually, I just double checked, and the driver is NOT installed for the Wi-Fi card. I was looking at the driver for the regular LAN controller. I was tricked because it is a MoBo integrated LAN controller, but the driver labels it as a Realtek PCIe.
I did download the driver exe from Realtek and I also tried the one from HP. Neither seems to load the WiFi functionality of this card.
Also, if it helps, the card is a Realtek branded for certain HP laptops.

Can anyone confirm that exchanging the WiFi Half height mini PCIe cards and installing the drivers and Intel PROSet Wireless software will allow the m4600 to be upgraded?
Update A little more searching shows that the original WiFi card in the m4600 is the better choice where speed is concerned at a slight cost of power efficiency. See more at this one to one comparison from Intel
Hi there, i just got my DV9543cl and am quite loving it i can even play gothic 3 on almost maxed out settings, something that i dint expect from the 8600M GS card, altough not a 1440 resolution.
However my main problem is that i need to put bluetooth to the laptop as it only came with the wifi option.
i thought that i could upgrade to the "Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 4965AGN Network Connection and Bluetooth" card, in order to have wifi + bluetooth internally.
HP help/support advise me that i cannot upgrade this laptop to a internal wifi+bluetooth.
Can anyone share some wisdom to this? Is there an internal card i can use to install bluetooth to the laptop? mainly i need bluetooth for my connectivy with phone and also a bluetooth wireless mouse, so no extra devices hang out the laptop ports.
any ideas, much appreaciated .
The Guru's at HP say No... Go to some laptop parts websites and see if there is a 3rd party Bluetooth card available for your HP model. Do a Google search. If Blutooth is not an option for your model, I'm afraid that you are out of luck.
Shouldn't you have checked for the Blutooth option before you purchased the HP laptop?
I was using Windows 7 Home Basic preinstalled with the laptop since 2011. The laptop was working fine. After upgrading to Windows 10 the WiFi and Bluetooth is not working. Tried help from Microsoft remotely. According to them the drivers are not working and there is no updated drivers available for Windows 10 on HP website. The driver installed presently is "Broadcom 4313GN 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi Adapter".Please help and advise whether to stick with Windows 10 or to roll back to Windows 7 as I have an option to purchase a removable device to use WiFi and Bluetooth.I love the lightness of the new operating system. Please help!!!
Hello @Banti2?, Welcome to the HP Support Forums! It is a great place to find the help you need, both from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I read your post about the Windows 10 upgrade, and wanted to assist you!You can use the Go back to an earlier build option, in your System Settings: HP Notebook PCs - Upgrading to Windows 10Once you are back to your original Operating System, check to see if you are experiencing the same issue. If not, then you may consider holding off on the Windows 10 upgrade for a few weeks, until drivers can be updated. However, if you are able to get the WiFi and Bluetooth to work, using an external device, then you can continue to use Windows 10. Keep in mind, that the rollback option is only good for the first 28 days, after installing Windows 10. Please let me know if this information was helpful by clicking the thumbs up below.Regards!http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Not-able-to-switch-on-WiFi-and-Bluetooth-after-upgrading-to/td-p/5189627
I bought a Flex from the Lenovo store website a month ago and I seem to be having problems with my wireless adapter I can't remember if it is because of the update to since I updated my laptop to on the day that I received my laptop No matter how far away I am to the router my wifi would disconnect It would disconnect for around - seconds and happens very often which is kind of annoying nbsp Other laptops in my house don't experience this kind of issue so it can't be my wireless router or internet service provider Bluetooth seems to have issues as well I bought a bluetooth mouse for my laptop around weeks ago and it disconnects just like my wifi I've tested the mouse with my phone for a full hour and I did not encounter any problems so I concluded that it must be my wireless adapter that has a problem nbsp I've tried updating all the drivers from Lenovo 14, Issues Flex Bluetooth and Wifi support page but that didn't fix it So I tried getting the drivers from Intel since my adapter is the Intel Wireless-N That also did not Flex 14, Bluetooth and Wifi Issues work nbsp Any ideas I would really appreciate any sort of help right Flex 14, Bluetooth and Wifi Issues now nbsp nbsp nbsp Solved Go to Solution

Hello guys, I want to update my computer to have a Bluetooth 4.0 connection, i've tryed some PCI-e boards but It was not compatible...Do you know any PCI-e board wifi and Bluetooth 4.0 that is compatible with Pavilion G6? Thank you
Need exact model and the big question is whether it is in the "whitelist" era. Generally anything with a 4th gen Intel Core or newer is past the whitelist and you can install any wireless or wifi-bluetooth card of the same form factor as long as you have at least 2 antennae which I believe the G6 models do.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Wifi-and-Bluetooth-module-for-Pavilion-G6/td-p/5786320
I use the Bluetooth function of card often, but I don't use the wireless AC part of the card, as I use 1gb Ethernet connection, is Disabling the wireless card proper thing to do, and yet still be able to use the Bluetooth in Windows 10 Pro 64bit? or should I reenable the card, and just not connect to any networks with it?
Also has a hard time showing devices to connect to lately, not sure why, drivers I guess are up to date for it

I'm looking for a wifi router that will connect to the Internet via separate Bluetooth hotspot instead of (or even better, in addition to) a wired Ethernet connection from a modem.
Thanks for the help -
I purchased this laptop new. Wifi works fine with even 50MB speed. Videos buffering seamlessly. But if I connect a bluetooth headset or mouse or my phone, Wifi stopped receiving the signal, movies stopped playing and I have to disconnect the bluetooth to get it back. I'm facing this problem from Day-1. I have enabled automatic update in the HP support assistant and all the drivers are upto date. I spent a lot of money to buy this laptop but ended up in frustration with this kind of problem ruining such a high end laptop.

Hi nbsp I got this laptop months ago and to be honest I'm quite nbsp disappointed with the wifi and bluetooth performance The first attempts to connect to my home wireless network were unsuccessful The laptop would detect a very Wifi range and conectivity/low Bluetooth low signal nbsp strength and would Bluetooth and Wifi conectivity/low range connect only when placed a few feet away from my AP Immediately I thought that it was an issue with the antenna maybe a disconnected cable I opened the laptop and to my Bluetooth and Wifi conectivity/low range surprise I found that there was only one antenna cable even when the card has two antenna connectors Main Aux and that it was connected Bluetooth and Wifi conectivity/low range to the Aux plug I nbsp swapped the antenna to the Main connector and nbsp immediately the wifi signal went from poor to excellent Unfortunately the bluetooth signal suffers from the same problem it only detects and connects to devices within a feet range I believe that this laptop comes with a Broadcom Wifi Bluetooth Combo board I would like to know which antenna does the Bluetooth use and if there is any possibility that I could add an aux antenna into the chassis to improve the connectivity nbsp Thanks in advance nbsphttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Bluetooth-and-Wifi-conectivity-low-range/td-p/5734829

Hi @Saheb_12?,Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues with help from the community!I came across your post about the Notebook, and wanted to assist you! I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 15-n203tx Notebook and and issues with the Wireless connecting. Try resetting the router. Unplug the router and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back in to make sure it fully resets. Here is a link to the troubleshooting the Wireless connection, if you need it. Here is a document on Airplane mode. If Airplane mode is on you cannot use your WiFi or Ethernet, so Airplane mode should off for the Wireless troubleshooting. You can do a system restore. System restore will help if something automatically updated and did not go well on the Notebook and stopped the WiFi from working. When performing a System restore please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices as they can cause issues. Please let me know how this goes. You can say thanks for trying to help, by clicking the Thumbs Up below!.Thanks.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Wifi-amp-bluetooth-not-working-after-upgrading-to-windows-10/td-p/5357898
Hello to the people who will probably help me on this from here onwards !!! So, I recently upgraded from windows 7 to 10 like a lot others. All excited to start, in no time I realised the wifi won't start. Boom! Now, I am stuck hanging onto a lan wire and can't move away. I am not able to find out anything on broadcom / hp / microsoft websites. Recently read this on hp website : This laptop was not tested for windows 10 upgrade. I would really appreciate, if someone can help me on this. Thanks in anticipation

Recently there was a Wifi Driver issue, which got resolved when the service guy came and replaced it, 6-8 weeks ago. After that my Wifi works fine but has a bit of a performance issue - It takes some time to identify Wifi Networks. If I switch on my bluetooth, the wifi performance degrades more, i.e. more time to identify network and the speeds of download/upload deteriorates a lot (A video in Youtube 720p quality is brought down to 144p).In addition it seems to take a lot of time for my bluetooth to identify a device. Does the Wifi and Bluetooth share the antennas? If so does this mean the antenna have a problem now?Is there a way to troubleshoot this? maybe by checking speed on Wifi and bluetooth.https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-S-Series-ThinkPad-Yoga/Lenovo-Yoga-460-Bluetooth-and-Wifi-low-preformance/td-p/3383340

We do need the DMP file as it contains the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.
If you are overclocking STOP
We could also use some system information, which you can get easily by running msinfo32.
To do that go to start>run>type msinfo32>enter
When it is finished running go to file>save>name it and upload to us here.
You may be able to get the DMP files without crashing by booting into safe mode (F8) with networking.
To enable us to assist you with your computer's BSOD symptoms, upload the contents of your "\Windows\Minidump" folder.
* Copy the contents of \Windows\Minidump to another (temporary) location somewhere on your machine.
* Zip up the copy.
* Attach the ZIP archive to your post using the "paperclip" (file attachments) button.
*If the files are too large please upload them to a file sharing service like "Rapidshare" and put a link to them in your reply.
To ensure minidumps are enabled:
* Go to Start, in the Search Box type: sysdm.cpl, press Enter.
* Under the Advanced tab, click on the Startup and Recovery Settings... button.
* Ensure that Automatically restart is unchecked.
* Under the Write Debugging Information header select Small memory dump (256 kB) in the dropdown box (the 256kb varies).
* Ensure that the Small Dump Directory is listed as %systemroot%\Minidump.
* OK your way out.
* Reboot if changes have been made.

I was asked to re install windows 8 on a laptop. It's a Dell Inspiron 15 ( 3521 ).
It installed all the drivers except the wifi + Bluetooth driver.
The laptop cannot connect to wifi straight after installing windows 8.
When I run the exe, it gets to the end of the installation it asks for the user to switch on the Bluetooth or wireless switch ( It was one if them, I forgot which one ).
I look all over the laptop and cannot find anything that resembles a switch. I looked at the FN keys and there is no shortcut for it or anything.
I looked to see if it's under settings in windows 8 but the wifi screen says " no devices ".
The laptop has a cheap build.
Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Since upgrading my HP DV T -CTO from Windows to Win and now I have had an intermittent issue where the my wifi bluetooth adapter is detected until a restart and device detected wifi/bluetooth not after reboot then wifi/bluetooth device not detected after reboot afterwards is no longer detected I have a Intel centrino wireless N which is both wifi and bluetooth I cannot connect to wifi nor is the bluetooth detected Additionally the wifi-radio button on my laptop will not turn on red is off white is on Sometimes I can temporarily fix the issue by shutting down disconnecting the adapter from my laptop reseating it and then rebooting This does not always work though I have tried the latest drivers from Intel wifi/bluetooth device not detected after reboot as well as tried removing those and just installing whatever Windows update thinks is best I have also updated the Bios to the latest but to no avail I have even replaced the adapter with a new adapter wifi/bluetooth device not detected after reboot but the same model and that did not fix the issue either For that reason I am thinking it could be a driver issue But I have never experienced a driver problem where something would go from working properly to not being detected at all after a reboot Any help figuring this out would be of great help
I noticed your Intel driver link is for 16.5 series driver, I found this 16.7 series one, bottom download for 8.1 64-bit. It is the larger file and should include everything.

The Wifi adapter (Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn) has been malfunctioning for the past two weeks. The wifi signal strength of visible networks is vey weak. It shows good strength in other devices though. Also, the Bluetooth , when turned on, never finishes searching for nearby devices. So, i am unable to connect to new devices. This laptop is 2 years old. Please suggest methods to resolve.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/wifi-connectivity-drops-and-bluetooth-never-finishes/td-p/5621395
I certain its a hardware issue but i was just curious. don't they both broadcast on the 802.11 band (is it called a band?)? so why wouldn't they be capable of either or? (i know bluetooth uses smaller wave lengths and wifi larger, that much i do know) it would probably be impractical to try wifi on bluetooth band as you would get severely reduced performance. but why not bluetooth on wifi band?
wouldn't work and in the US the FCC wouldn't allow it. antenna length is a function of frequency so wifi and is abt 6" bluetooth is abt 1" thats one reason wifi has a longer range

Any ideas on this? I've just bought a small usb bluetooth adapter to try too and will update with my results with that too soon.

I installed Ubuntu 16.04 on my XPS 13 9350. It does have the Broadcom wifi/bt adapter.
My wifi issue is the computer will not connect to my 5GHZ network. Every time I try it just fails to connect and asks me for the password even though it's correct. I can connect to my 2.4ghz but not the 5ghz
My BT issue is I have always have to repair my BT mouse when the computer restarts.
I previously had a 9343 and I had no issues like this. I was able to connect to my 5ghz network and using Bluetooth manager as a trusted device my mouse always reconnected at a reboot.
I know there are some issues with Broadcom adapters but my 9343 had one and I did not have this issue at all. Is it just because the 9350 has a newer broadcom chip so it's not fully supported?

My PC doesn't get detect 5GHz and the increase bandwidth from my router, so I want to replace it. But before I take it apart, I want to make sure that I can do so and buy the right parts. Is this possible, and if so what should I get? I also want to add bluetooth as I remember the website had an option to do so, but bc the Costco Set Config was cheaper, I went that route instead. Is it possible to do this internally w/o an external part [like a usb dongle] PS. Here is the Product Number: C8P47AV Is there like an installation/repair guide for my laptop model too too?
The Maintenance and Service Guide found HERE, says there are several choices for the WLAN module.675794-001 710418-001 includes BlueTooth690020-001 includes BlueTooth709848-001670290-001 If your unit has an Intel CPU - supports BlueTooth - this card has the best specs of the ones listed but looks as if none of these list 5GHZ as supported.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Replace-Upgrade-WiFi-Network-Card-Add-Bluetooth/td-p/5583716

So I have an interresting situation A week ago we ordered a bunch of Asus T TA transformer book tablets for a customer One of them wouldn't recognize bluetooth or wifi and it had a problem with the Broadcom Serial Bus Driver over UART Bus Enumerator After numerous driver downloads and installs and even a full factory restore whatever option in windows where it deletes everything and reinstalls the OS the issue still persisted Since the tablet was brand new we just submitted a DOA request from our wholesaler and sent the tablet back No big deal figured it was a Wifi/Bluetooth UART Bus. different issues. tabl Broadcom 2 hardware issue The other day a Lenovo tablet came in with the EXACT same problem Wifi/Bluetooth issues. Broadcom UART Bus. 2 different tabl Again driver installs factory restore etc and the issue is still there SO obviously it's not a hardware issue and despite the numerous posts on the internet I can't seem to find a solution Again both units have had drivers bios and factory restores and the issue is still there immediately after factory restore
If they are coming from the same wholesaler. I would say it is time to find a different company to purchase the units from.http://www.eightforums.com/drivers-hardware/54597-wifi-bluetooth-issues-broadcom-uart-bus-2-different-tabl.html

i have been through about wifi cards in the spand of laptops looking for the best range and speed without the interference i had a realtek dualband wifi card with bluetooth and i sold that to get a a Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC expecting that this would be the top of the line in wifi standards i mainly sold my realtek because a issue with buletooth if im using card (Internal) avaible the whats possible adapter+bluetooth best wifi the whats the best possible (Internal) wifi adapter+bluetooth card avaible wifi and i connect my bluetooth headset to the laptop the sound would be choppy and laggy so when i got my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC i was amazed that this quot was quot no longer the issue i connected my HBS- and walked out my apartment and down the hall and the bluetooth was clean but it seems that now perhaps driver change the bluetooth on my Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC is also bad i cant even step feet away from my laptop without it cracking to hell at feet and not facing the laptop i disconnect it was never like that before and i know its not my headset because when i connect it to my phone its flawless and i connected another bluetooth adapter and tried and its fine the issue is that when the wifi is on theirs too much interference and yes when i connect to a g network the issue is greatly reduced but for me g is mostly not a option i was wondering if theirs a such thing as a shielded internal wifi wouldn't think so i would just love if i could use the bluetooth and the wifi flawlessly i already for another reason plan to get a Alfa AC external wifi adapter for a desktop but i would rather not use that for my laptophttp://www.tenforums.com/network-sharing/49592-whats-best-possible-internal-wifi-adapter-bluetooth-card-avaible.html

This is something from the paranoid corner of my brain, a question that's bugged me for a long time:
If I'm linking to the 'Net via Ethernet cable rather than wireless and I have my Bluetooth switch on the laptop off, is it possible for someone to use malware to turn my laptop's wireless connection on without my knowing it?
The reason I ask is because I saw something called Switcher.exe com up on the Task Manager while I was busy being paranoid about something else, and wondered what that could possibly be doing when I have the Bluetooth switch off and don't even have the Ethernet hooked up yet (I'd just booted up.)
'Just a random, burning question...
is this a Sony computer?
I haven't heard of any current malware that can turn on wireless when it it physically turned off
