Build 7077 Expiration

Q: Build 7077 Expiration

Does anyone know the expiration date of W7 build 7077? Is it the same for both x86 and x64?

Preferred Solution: Build 7077 Expiration

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi all Just a couple of points Both x- bit versions W build -- OK W build -- few glitches install had to Vs 7077 Build x-64 better 7077 anyone. 7100 for me uninstall some pre-existing drivers on quot Upgrade quot before it would install -- and you've guessed it -- couldn't re-install the drivers again On quot New install quot drivers wouldn't install in Build 7100 Vs 7077 x-64 anyone. 7077 better for me any way --even in compatability mode some rd party apps ran fine in build but quot Crap out quot in NET is totally hosed and bollixed up in -- hopefully this will be fixed by RTM Cannot install ANY Net apps -- worked fine in rd party TV application doesn't run AT all in -- I NEED this for viewing composite video -- WMC is fine for normal TV viewing Performance wise both builds seem OK However if this is RC Build 7100 Vs 7077 x-64 anyone. 7077 better for me it seems a couple of steps backwards from build as far as installability and compatability are concerned I'll leave it for a little while longer but my gut feel currently is to revert back to build until some fixes or quot Service packs quot come out Cheers jimbo

Did anyone have major problems with build 7077? For me it was so bad, that I had to put vista back on the machine. I never had any major problems with build 7000. 7077 had nice features, but none of my movies would play or for that matter even be recognized as movie files. Most of my software didn't work right, but the graphics problems that 7000 had were gone in 7077. Don't get me wrong, I did like what I saw in 7077, but until at least RC1 comes out, I will be using vista 'til then. I just hope 7077 isn't a preview of the RC. It's funny though that vista has been out for how long now and I just found a bug in the x64 version that M$ say they are going to make a patch for in an upcoming update. We will have to wait and see about that one.

I'm going to install 7, but I was kinda waiting for the RC. I don't know if build 7077 is RC or not, so if you guys know, that would be good... Also, is it good? I mean, does it have good performance and stability? And is it buggy?

A:So is build 7077 RC and is it good?

Reading around the forums will get you the answers that your searching for. In short I don't know whether it will be the rc but very much doubt it. As for stability and performance it is spot on in both departments. Just look around the forums like I say and you will get all the answers and more.

Hi all Hapy Easter etc Although I wasn't going to I couldn't resisit the temptation - downloaded build X- thanks to Soligor and his Russian contacts Download fine -- mins approx -- plenty of seeders now Noticed though on Network Discovery I randomly See XP machines on the network but randomly don't see them either -- seems to be totally unpredictable when the machines are visible These machines are logged on However there's absolutely no problem in quot Manually connecting quot using connect network drive and then specifying the actual UNC address such as via xpmachine name share name Of course you have to know the share names if you connect like this If you don't know the share name then you are totally screwed Doesn't matter whether Firewalls or on or off - same problem Weird Machine is fine in build x- All networked XP machines always available Looks like these later builds are doing things with Networks Cheers jimbo

I have installed on my notebook the W7 build 7077...
It works fine in the first week, I was really liking it (I still like... but not so much).
Now, the problems decided to come...
When I type my password, many times the computer don't leave that "WELCOME" part... others, the screen gets all black with the signature "Windows 7 build 7077" written on the right corner...
I thought it was a problem with my notebook, with the DigitalPersona driver, but I disabled and the problem persists, I uninstalled, and the problem still with me
When I start the computer on SAFE MODE, it goes perfectly, but when I start it on the 'normally' mode, it really kills me...

Anybody can help me?

sorry about my english... many years with any study on it =x

If you mean 2009, then activating Windows 7 with a product key number will stop it.

I installed build 7077 hoping to be rid of the intel graphics adaptor crash when waking up from a blank screen, build 7068 also suffered with this, and now this new build also does it.

And also my newsleecher no longer runs now, has worked fine on all the other builds.

I get this error "an internal exception occured"

Just hope this does'nt become the RC build, as things are breaking that were fine in builds 7000 and 7057.

So, I've been using Build 7000 but went back to Vista x64 because my surround sound didn't work. You think the 7077 build will fix that? It's the onboard 5.1 surround sound (asus board). Also, should I wait for the official RC or just suck it up and deal with the surround sound issue in 7000 or 7077?

Now, what should I do once I install either build? I'm just so bored right now that all the fun is gone after it's installed. Any suggestions on what to do in Windows 7?

Hi Build - Padlocked Folder 7077 guys Got a question noticed that of my folders in an external HDD had padlocks on them I had performed a clean installation of yesterday and after installation I don't remember seeing them there Suspected that it probably was an ownership thing as mentioned here Hard disk Icons -- Sahred Disks confusing Build 7077 - Padlocked Folder with Padlock Item So I actually changed Build 7077 - Padlocked Folder the ownership of the folders to me for some reason it was set to be owned by the Administrators group but the folder remains padlocked Any idea why this is the case What makes this folders different from the rest in the screenshot above is that I actually added these folders to part of the library and messed around with Homegroup so not sure if that caused the padlocks I've since removed myself from the Homegroup and even attempted to remove them from the library but still can't seem to get rid of the padlock Any one else here facing a similar situation Thanks

When upgrading from 7048 to 7077 the installer freezes on the last step (copying files and settings) at 35% every time I've tried it. It suggested removing ATI Catalyst Install Manager and Control Panel, which I did, but it still hangs (although this time at 47%). I have tried several different configurations (with/without CCC and Install Manager, do/don't go online for updates, etc). Every time I have to force restart the computer and it will begin to restore the previous version.

My system specs are as follows:
AMD Phenom X4 9850
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD4830
Kingston HyperX 2x2GB Dual channel RAM

What speed did you burn the DVD at? Because the Install.wmi file is rather large, a fast burn speed may produce read errors that can only be notice upon usage. I suggest 2/4x speed to greatly reduce the risk of write errors.

Whenever I delete the recycle bin, the "full" trash icon never goes back to "empty." If I restart it will come back as empty. But once it fills up again, it does the same thing. Only a restart makes it empty. Tried turning the icon on and off, didn't help.

A:Build 7077 stuck @ login screen!

Hi there
I can't give you a reason as to the error but this might work.

Try starting Windows in SAFE MODE as you've done but disable Networking and then shutting down. This should clear out any "Stuck" services. Switch off Firewall and uninstall any AV software whilst in SAFE MODE.

Incidentally while you are logged on in save mode see what starts automatically and stop those you don't need -- there are posts around suggesting what you can stop running automatically.

When you try again in "Normal mode" start DISCONNECTED from any network and switch your wireless card off.

I upgraded (not a clean install) to 7077 today from 7048. I reinstalled the latest Realtek Driver, and my sound is staticy on files played from WMP 12.
I had this issue before on both an upgrade and clean install of 7057, which is why I went back to 7048 among other reasons.

Not a good move to upgrade. These builds are not designed for upgrades and so will not remove the previous files completely.

If you have already tried to install XP Pro over your Home installation, then you probably have overwritten your old OS and Programs. If you haven't run the XP Pro install yet, you can take that hard drive out of the computer and put it on an External USB Enclosure/Adapter and mount it on a working computer to pull your files off of that drive (you will not be able to pull any programs because they are installed in their own folder as well as the Windows Registry) Programs need to be reinstalled on a new OS.

A:What's new in 7077?

You won't notice much cosmetic changes. The main changes are in the hardware driver support & stability. There are a lot more device drivers so more hardware is supported/installed without the need to install seperately after installing 7077 (e.g. anything from 7000 to 7057 would not recognise my Wireless LAN, 7068 & 7077 install straight away). Also you'll notice increased performance, startup/shutdown is now faster, Media Center runns a lot more smoothly. Those are just a few i've noticed, if you read through the different posts regarding 7077 you'll get a really good idea of what you're asking.

I'm currently using RC 7100. Lately I've been getting alerts about expiration within 11 days, when I'm certain I'm supposed to be able to use it through to June.

Here's what slmgr says:

License Status: Initial grace period
Time remaining: 41280 minute(s) (28 day(s))
Evaluation End Date: 6/1/2010 4:59:59 PM
Remaining Windows rearm count: 2
Trusted time: 2/18/2010 9:24:41 AM
I've already tried /rearm once, but the alert still shows. I am curious that Time Remaining says "28 days", and that the given expiration would end up being on 3/1.

Any cause for concern, or should I consider getting retail sooner?

A:Windows 7 RC Expiration

Hello Oneextraid,

Rumor is that the 7100 build is the RC version, so the expiration date may not change. I suppose we'll know for sure when the official RC is released on 4/30/2009 for MSDN and TechNet subscribers, and 5/5/2009 for the public. The RTM Windows 7 will probably be releaseed by 3/01/2010 anyways though. Hopefully.

So 2 days ago, I got the thing pop up in the system tray saying my license will expire in 12 days. I'm running the RC 7100 build...

Now I know with past experiences, when the license expired, in the fine print of the T&A, it said the computer would randomly shut off and restart until a new license was entered in.

Is the same thing going to happen with this version of 7? Or what's going to happen? And is there nothing that can be done about it other than buying a new license (copy) of Win7? Thanks guys.

A:Question on expiration...

The Windows Seven RC expires in two phases. Starting March 1st, you system will shut down every two hours and you are going to get those unpleasant nagging screens telling you the Windows is about to expire. When shutting down, it will not save your work, so what ever you are doing /editing / creating when it shuts down will be lost.

RC expires completely on June 1st.

i haven't seena nything built into windows that will log a user off at a certian time. I moved to 7077 from 7068 and noticed a big performance hit. Is anyone experiencing this? Almost reminds me of Vista
Benchmarking with Geekbench and CineBench is bringing the same results but the overall system doesn't feel as snappy:
-Boot is a lot slower.
- First time you start an app is slower, even firefox could take 5 seconds, it used to take about 2 or less b4.
Almost feels like superfetch is not working properly.

i downloaded the x64 7077 and want to install it on 32-bit XP...i opened the ISO file and put everything in the bootable flash drive, and then changed the BIOS to boot from USB...however, that didn't work...the computer is 64-bit capable as it has 4gm ram and AMD Phenom Quad processor...when I opened the folder inside the flash drive and double clicked on setup.exe, it says it can't open the 64-bit

so is there anything i need to do or am i doing something wrong that's preventing me from installing the 64 bit?

Hi All After quite some time working with Build I finally decided to upgrade to Build yesterday something I now regret For some reason my computer won't let me run the ATI Catalyst Control software for my HD X video card and in addition to that won't let me install updated drivers To be fair the installation shell for did warn me that there might be can with and 7077 Problems what I do? CCC, a problem but I followed the recommendation provided to rectify it uninstall the offending software to be reinstalled afterward and continued with the upgrade Now I can't get access to my video card controls which has caused me some problems with some games that need video card control rather than game control of their effects making them essentially unplayable went from - fps to - fps at least until I can get back into the control center Now since my computer is primarily a gaming platform this creates a huge problem for me By Problems with 7077 and CCC, what can I do? not having access to the CCC catalyst control center I can't run my favorite games so I need Problems with 7077 and CCC, what can I do? to correct the issue as quickly as possible but I can't simply roll back the change Problems with 7077 and CCC, what can I do? or reinstall build over build at least I don't think I can please correct me if this is wrong so I'm really only left with two options figure out how to make it work correctly under or Uninstall Reformat and reinstall everything a task that would take me over a month in my free time I guess I'm asking then if anyone has had this problem with the CCC and whether or not anyone has managed to get it to work correctly and how If not what options do I have that might allow me to return to build without wiping my program drive I have a seperate drive for programs so I don't have to erase them all however last I heard Win and or Vista doesn't have the ability to scan for installed software and repair of the links and shortcuts without actually reinstalling everything Any help would be appreciated Thanks Greg

A:Problems with 7077 and CCC, what can I do?

I had the same problem with my 4870. You have to remove the drivers for the card that are downloaded during the update of the system that happens when you install, they are 1.1 can't remember the exact name, to remove them got to the control panel where you can see the latest updates made to the system.
Once you've done that you will be able to install the latest catalist drivers.

I wasn't sure if it would actually work, but I installed 7077 on my friend's old IBM Thinkpad. He received it from a friend for free, running XP with a ton of unneeded programs bogging it down. It took about six minutes to fully start up. After putting 7 on there, it dropped to about 25 seconds. Most of the drivers weren't in the install, but after connecting it to the Internet through Ethernet, Windows Update found six 'updates' in about half a second...all of them being the missing drivers.

It's not near as fast as 7 could be, but it's running a hell of a lot faster than it was before. It also scored a much higher WEI than I thought it would (graphics aside).

A:7077 on an old IBM Thinkpad

You didn't state the Thinkpad it a T43??

I have Win7 running on my T43 and it's not bad at all. It seems to have the same CPU specs as you have in your Pics but I have 1.5GB of memory. It's pretty cheap to upgrade memory. My T43 seems faster than any Atom netbook I have played with.

I can't wait to vLite (or better yet, 7Lite) the final Win7 version to reduce the unneeded parts of the OS to help make this old laptop a valuable piece of gear for snappy surfing and email.

How, or should I say what would be the typical methods used to control when a trial software program runs out? I have a device driver, that is supposed to stop functioning after Monday, next week. The driver is in the Windows/ System32/Drivers folder, and there is an entry in the registry under HKLM/System/ Current Control Set/ Services/ XXXXX.
Where does it read the time from, the actual BIOS, or system clock?
I am questioning, because I have this installed on a computer at my house, and the system clock is currently set at Wednesday, and everything is still working.

Hi all

I have a little point of confusion with SIW and Winver for X-64 build 7077.

SIW reports expiry date as 6 June 2010

Winver reports expiration date as Mar 2nd 2010.

Who'se telling the truth and who'se the "Big fibber".

slmgr report as "Permanently activated" so that's no good as a 3rd check.

enc shots of SIW and winver.

I'm 100% confused now.

A:Which one - Expiration date SIW or MS Winver

I believe that the 'Permanently Activated' bit is just slmgr stating that the key used to install the OS has been activated online/by phone. Permanent as in it won't need to be activated again, it has nothing to do with the expiry date IMO.

Yesterday when the RC epxired I got a blue screen that said it encountered a fatal error that was along the lines of "product expired".
I expected to be able to boot right back up, but instead at POST the PC just hangs and eventually asks me to insert boot media. I fired up UBCD and tried to run some HDD disgnostics. In some of them the disk itself would show up, but would come back every time with a "Device not ready" error. I'm posting this right now using a Linux live CD and the HDD light is stuck on solid 100% of the time the PC is on.

I have a problem with 7077 that I cant see to find anything on...

The taskbar is very weird. These are the symptoms:

1) When it is on the top, it extends past the normal height and is as "tall" as is "wide" when it is docked on the side. Everything looks right, but the mask extends too far down, making things there (the top of my browser, icons) blurry.

Sometimes this goes away when I move it back and forth to different positions... or sometimes:

2) After moving it around, ill have it on the top of my screen. But there is a taskbar mask on the left side of the screen too! So the bar is at the top and the left inch of my screen is randomly blurry (from the taskbar mask).

Have any idea what can cause this? Im fully stumped.

Anyone else running x64 7077 able to use folder.jpg's properly? Worked fine in 7000 but now all of my folders display multiple thumbnails instead of the folder.jpg. Tried deleting thumbs.db, and duplicated issue in another user account.

A:folder.jpg not working (7077)

To clarify about folder.jpg: in previous versions of Windows (XP, Vista, 7 build 7000) when an image file called folder.jpg is placed in a folder, it automatically becomes the default folder picture/thumbnail for that folder (without needing to specify it manually via the Customization screen).

What's happening for me now though is instead of seeing the folder.jpg image as the folder's thumbnail picture, I see the live contents thumbnails instead (the same as if there were no folder.jpg in the folder).

I'm not really looking for a solution at this point, but confirmation from others whether or not the function works.

If someone who has 7077 and can confirm that folder.jpg works properly (ie shows as the folder thumbnail for a folder that contains two or more image files), please chime in as that will help me decide whether I should reinstall or wait out the next build. Thanks in advance.

Does it not see the HD at all? If Ubuntu does then format the Drive as ext3 or NTFS and then try W7 again....

Hi guys!

Is it possible to unlock the expiration date of the Windows 7 beta? if yes, how?

If you have unlocked the features of windows 7 will it still expire by August?

A:Expiration date of windows 7 beta

Sorry we don't discuss illegal hacks or activators and as far as extra features, there are none to unlock, what you see is what you get.

I am creating a spreadsheet for a school that I work in. I am very new to access and really have no clue what I am doing. Right now I am tracking the teachers and their credentials. I have a checkbox where I check whether the teacher has a license or not and then a exp date for when the license expires. Is there anyway to make it that when the expiration date passes the box becomes unchecked and is higlighted or flashes another color? Or if I put in a year a training was taken, 1 year later that check box becomes unchecked and flashes or is highlighted?

Please someone help me! And remember Im a real novice and so need step by step instructions!

Thank you for your help!!

I did a "REFILL KIT" on my empty cartridges. But it didn't do any good. It still acted as if they where empty. Then I noticed when I went into the HP 2000c tools and clicked on "Ink Cartridge Information" It gave me expiration dates on each cartridge. I went and bought new cartridges. I then put the new cap on the old cartridge that I had just refilled. This gave me a new expiration date. But now I have brand new cartridges and old expirations....
SO... The bottom line is, if there isn't a fix for the expiration date code. Then the refill kits for the HP 2000C are for the birds .

A:Expiration Dates on HP 2000C Cartridges

Welcome to TSG!

Seems you have fallen prey to the Smart chip! HP decided years ago to incorporate a smart chip in there ink cartridges that talks to a smart chip in your printer that in turn interacts with the software too and in their words "This technology protects you from encountering costly repairs to your printer"! The bottom line here is the almighty Dollar! HP as other manufacturers do not make a great deal of money selling their printers! As a matter of fact they basically give them away because the money is in the cartridges. Paying 30 plus dollars for each cartridge, color or B&W is the norm and over the lifetime of the printer you will buy hundreds of dollars worth of cartridges. RE: Profit!!!
Yes in the case of smart chips you are stuck! The shell is only refillable until the expiration date of the cartridge... then it will not let you use it! Here is the diplomatically correct answer from HP.,,0x9e677d4cf554d611abdb0090277a778c,00.html

And here is another reference.

Now if there is a workaround I also will be interested!!

Also if the birds controlled the smart chips we would have the ability to refill these beyond expiration of the shell but alas the birds with the brains do not control it!

A:I think I got lucky with the RC March 1 expiration date

Its a system that works well. Eventually everyone gets the notice.
