Where is arabic keyboard layout with DIGITS in w7???

Q: Where is arabic keyboard layout with DIGITS in w7???

XP and vista had keyboard layouts for arabic + digits, so you could use the hindi digits.

It seems in w7, you can only choose arabic 101 without digits, no matter which country you choose, so there's no way for me to type the hindi digits like
٠ ٩ ٨ ٧ ٦ ٥ ٤ ٣ ٢ ١

what to do??? Where is this layout so I can have arabic characters and hindi digits?

Preferred Solution: Where is arabic keyboard layout with DIGITS in w7???

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I'm running Windows 7 on a five-year old Dell Dimension E520. Because of my work I'm using MS Word 97-2003. (Don't ask!) I write in English, but have Italian and French installed to toggle occasionally. I never installed Arabic. BUT as soon as I type the keyboard flips to Arabic. I change it back, it flips again. I'm going insane. In Control Panel/Languages, etc. it only shows EN, IT, and FR as installed. BUT on the toolbar, lower right corner it shows EN, IT, FR, and AR. I can't get rid of it. I can't remove it from Control Panel/Languages, etc. because it isn't listed. I've run avast anti-virus, and two malware scans, malwarebytes and super-antispyware. Nothing shows up. Anyone, I would appreciate any help possible. Thanking you in advance

I'm currently bidding on an IBM keyboard (1370477). However, I was looking at the PS/2 pin layout in one of the pictures and I noticed that it was only using 4 pins. If it is the one being sold by TAZSONIC3 on eBay, I looked at it too. The two pins that are missing aren't needed. The keyboard only needs 5VDC, ground, data and clock.

After 'recovering' my P4 1.8MHz, XP-Home PC, I found that he keyboard was different - I no longer have the 'Pound' key - I get the # instead. Also, the @ symbol is at Shift+2 and the " symbol is where the @ symbol should be. There are quite a few other major differences too.

I have the win8 upgrade (previous OS was win7 ultimate).

The OS goes very well, so far, just a minor problem...

From time to time I noticed there is installed a US keyboard, I am UK based and any setup keyboard/date etc are in UK format. Also when I installed the windows I selected (autodetected) the UK settings.

Well, this is very strange...

Also, I noticed that the US keyboard does not exist on the layouts (I am using Greek and UK), so in order to get rid of this, I have to add and the remove the US keyboard, but after a while re-appears!

thanx in advance for any ideas/help...

Did you reinstall the keyboard driver from keyboard vendor? In windows it will install the generic driver just so the device will function but to use the keyboards full functionality you have to install the keyboard driver. With the auto detect enabled windows will sometimes install the incorrect drivers.

Let me just begin by saying that I have already tried going into "Regional Settings, etc." but simply can not find the right layout to match my girlfriend's keyboard. All of the layouts I have tried have the number "1" as the second key on the top row, and not the first.

I'm using the US International keyboard layout, but it doubles all things which you use to type accents, like an apostrophe, or ". This means that when I type an apostrophe, then hit space, then type an e, I get: '?. This should be just 'a of course. Now I have to backspace everytime and type the a again, you can probably see why this would annoy me. Also, same thing: if I type ", then space, then for example an r, I get: ""r.
I absolutely have no clue what could cause this problem. Any help would be highly appreciated!

Using an alternative Keyboard layout - HELP!
Relevancy 56.76%

Hello from Japan
A while ago someone directed me to the "Keyboard Layout Creator 1.4" in order to slightly modify the keyboard(s) I use.
I installed that software on two desktops running Win XP, where it ran fine (except that it gives me an error message, that "XP may be too old to function properly".

The other day I bought a new notebook (Dell Vostro 3500, running Win 7).
Although this is supposed to work better than XP, I could not manage to have the Creator display **ANY** keyboard layout - not even one I copied from my other machines.
I tried:
* reinstallation
* modify "compatibility"
* change font

but NOTHING I have tried to far makes the Creator display any keyboard layout.
Is there a specific trick to do this???

If there is, I would greatly appreciate any help.
Thank you

Windows XP SP2 (Japanese version) with a Japanese Keyboard.
Windows XP SP2 (English version) with a Japanese Keyboard.

I use my Japanese version of Windows XP (interactively), while I am connected to
my other English version (through Remote Desktop).

The problem is that when I am connected to my English version (through Remote Desktop) PC, my keyboard is set to US.
Is it possible to use my Japanese keyboard layout when I am connected to my English version (through Remote Desktop). Is their any settings that I can use? Any registry setting to set?

Just wondering if it is possible.

Thanks in advance for any help or tips.

The drop down menu on the On-Screen-Keyboard is something i have been able to do before I'm just not sure how i did it.

I am using UMPC and desktop PC with touchscreens so the onscreen keyboard is something i use quite often, I speak English and Swedish but am slowly learning the Polish language here where I live now and thus need a practical access to their alphabet special characters on my Swedish QWERTY keyboards, this is an excellent use of the virtual keyboard but I have previously added the supported installed languages to the drop down menu of the keyboard which is more practical than changing in the system tray or using the keyboard short-cut combination I've assigned as a make-shift solution.

Please help.

I have a Microsoft Comfort Curve Keyboard 3000 which is only a few months old, but yesterday something changed: the right Shift key acts as a right-click of the mouse (opens context menus), and the key '3' (not that of the numpad, but that which is above the letter keys) does exactly the same. This is throughout Windows, not just a single program, and restarting Windows didn't fix that.

I didn't touch any keyboard settings so I have absolutely no lead as to how to fix this.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I have installed an english version of XP Pro on a Japanese laptop.

I don't seem to have the option to set the keyboard to japanese 106 keys.

The control panel>keyboard says in using a japanese keyboard 106 keys but its set up as a US keyboard. (eg the quotes and the @ postitions are swapped.)

I have no need to write in the japanese language i just want to change the keyboard layout or I'll have to put stickers on all my keys! Which isn't the leap forward in operating systems i was hoping for.

You need to install the files for the Asian Locales. Under Control Panel > Regional and Language Settings > Language tab there is a check box for Install the East Asian Languages. Check it (you will need the Windows XP CD) and restart if needed. Then go to Details on the same tab. Click Add. There, choose your preferred language and then check the Keyboard/IME and choose the keyboard layout you want. Then when you OK it, highlight US in the keyboard section and click remove. OK it and you should restart to make the change.

Try pressing the num lk button in the upper right of the screen shot along with the same key that allows you to select the other keys that are shown in a box .

It appears that those numbers on the letters U,I,O,P,J,K,L,;,M represent a numbers key pad.

Hi all,

I'm using 3 keyboard layouts. I would like that when I open a specific app, it will automatically switch to the layout I defined.
It would be even better if I could define it per window.

So, if for example I'm opening a chat window with a specific contact in Skype, I would want it to change my layout to English automatically, while if I chat with other contact in Skype I would want it to change to another language. just because I always chat with one contact in English, while with the other in some other language.

Anyone heard about such a powerful tool?

Hello TS!

I am wondering if any of you PC gamers could help out with some suggestions.

I have a Wolf Claw 2 gaming keyboard which i have used for over 2 years and its falling apart. I love the thing. However, b4 i simply go and get another, I'm wondering if i can refresh my layout with some other products.

I was thinking of getting the <Microsoft Sidewinder Mouse ($50 on amazon)> with a Compact Keyboard(preferably Back-lit) and an independent keypad, like the Belkin N52.

My main problem is, i am not a fan of regular square keyboards cuz they are very limiting to key bindings in fast pace gaming.

Now, the mouse I'm sure ill love, but if any of you out there can recommend some products I'd greatly appreciate it. My budget for all 3 pieces is about about $150

Wondered if anyone can help with this issue.

The comapny I work for has a requirement that the # symbol be at the end of all user login passwords. On one terminal however, when you get to the login screen, entering "password#" returns a password eror, while "password?" lets you in.

First thing I did was to check regional settings and keyboard layout were all set to UK, not US, then reset the password on the server to make sure the # symbol and not the ? symbol was being used.

After both of these I still need to add the ? symbol, however as soon as you login to windows, in any input screen the symbols are on the correct keys, it's only pre-login that they seem to have switched.

I got a laptop from work, and it has a very funny keyboard layout. In addition to English and Hebrew letters, some letter keys have numbers on them ('U' has the number 4, 'I' - 5, 'O' - 6 etc). I cannot type any of those letters.... the number keys from 7 to 0 do not produce the characters '&','*','(' or ')' when pressed with Shift held down, but rather behave like function keys or arrow keys.

Any idea how to make this keyboard behave more sensibly?

My problem is that I do not know how to get the small icon on the bottom right that displays which layout I'm currently using. So far all I can get is an icon showing a keyboard and I can get the language information when I click on it but it's not as convenient as just having the abbreviation of the language displayed. I couldn't find anything about this in the settings.

Is it possible to configure the keyboard to output different characters? Like pressing '1', and getting an 'n' with a tilda or something, not just the standard American keyboard characters. I've come up with a couple custom characters in the EUDC editor that I would like to link to the keyboard.

A:Solved: Custom Keyboard Layout

It is possible. You'll have download another language to be used by the language bar. This would be the easy way out. I think a tilda is easy enough to put on a letter, at least with Finnish keyboards (alt gr+ (the key between enter(return) and ) and then just write the letter on whom you want to put the tilda on) also these are easy to put on the letters. Also I have letters straight on the keyboard. If you want a real shortcut, you'll have to do something trickier, but I can't remember how to map your keys.

Hey guys!

I'm a German guy living in Canada. I like my operating systems like I like my women:

1. User interface in English
2. Keyboard layout in German

Except, women don't have keyboard layouts and I like international women, too. But you get the idea.

Now, in Windows 10, I can only select one language for typing and reading. That makes me a sad panda.

So I went ahead and refused to install the German language pack, leaving the user interface largely in English while getting me my nice German keyboard layout. But yesterday, I found that all those native Windows apps (Weather, Maps) are now in German all of a sudden.

It's no big deal since I obviously speak both languages, but I must say, I've become quite fond of my English user interface and German keyboard layout. Insert obligatory But-Ubuntu-Does-It-Better rant here.

Anybody know a workaround? I'm sure there are more expats here who suddenly face this problem.

OK, this is just a reply for anybody who is interrested in better typing, better performance and mostly more comfortable typing.

1. Based on what I've found and on replies to my questions on this topic -- this cannot be done using standard ways like MKLC or resharper etc. The keyboard subsystem isn't designed in a way which allows this. Probably. Or it's burdened too deep to actually use it.

2. But it is possible, using autohotkey resp. portable keyboard layout built upon it
