I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:WinZip 12 Installation fails with Error 1402

The error is a Microsoft Installer error, not a WinZip error. Essentially, the 1402 is saying that while you (administrator permissions) may have access to the keys in the registry, MSI doesn't.have read a few posts (key ones sourced below) and the procedure below has helped for Adobe & Labview products -- it might work for WinZip as well:1) Open the registry editor by selecting "Run" from the start menu and then typing in "regedit".2) Browse through the registry and select the entry mentioned in the error message.3) Choose "Permissions..." from either the edit menu or by right-clicking on the registry key's parent directory.4) Click the "Advanced" button to add a new user.5) Type in "Everyone" as the new user and click OK (it may not be necessary to give everyone full control but this is what I did and it worked).6) Configure the permissions for user "Everyone" to "Full Control"7) Uninstall the software (if necessary) and re-install.source: http://www.wissamidrissi.com/2008/02/error...y-solution.htmlsource: http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?boar...ssage.id=148774hope this helps.travler

Hi,

Can someone give me some very much needed help with installing Adobe Acrobat Reader. I had version 6.0 and went to update when i got the error: 1402 (see attached jpeg)

Having googled it, it seemed to be a common enough problem. So i removed older versions of the reader and tried again. The installation threw up the same error again. So i then tried this solution, but again i got the same error.

Can someone please help me with this problem. A pdf reader is such a basic program that i really need.

I'm running a Windows XP Pro system, 2gb good RAM, AMD Athlon 64 3500+, nVidia GeForce 9800 GT. I attempted to install a copy of Oblivion (which I have had and used many times in the past). The disk is in very good condition, and can be used on another machine. I have tried it on multiple drives for this one PC, but now, it will not complete the loading of the InstallShield Wizard. It gives me this error:

A:How to fix driver installation, error code 28

Just keep in mind that in the case where a PC has been positively infected by malware that the system can be messed up so badly, often due to the cleanup, that a clean install is the only viable option.
Of course we all want to avoid the clean install due to the sheer size of the project (installing and configuring Windows is the easy part) so it makes sense to try some possible fixes, but at some point you have to realize the time spent trying to patch up a system could exceed the time needed for the clean install.
Set a time budget. When you exceed the budget it is time to bite the bullet.

You might start by trying a Repair Installation:
Repair Install

Or you could start by uninstalling any programs related to the problem devices, then uninstalling the problem devices, and then scanning the Windows registry and deleting any and all keys that contain the device name. Then finding and deleting any folders related to the device. You could do the devices all at once, or one at a time.
Reboot, then run CCleaner's registry cleaner to find any stragglers you missed.
Then reboot and start installing the devices again (clean).
This is an advanced method, only for folks who are experienced working with the registry. You can really mess things up if you don't know what you are doing.
If these do not work you may be stuck with the solution that cannot be named.

Hello, I just formatted my pc and installed with Win7. Then I tried to install a game i previously played on WinXP (name of the game is Sudden attack). However, it shows me "Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package".

anyone knows how to solve this?

A:Installation error code 1335

Hello!

Well, the error message is telling you what could be the problem.
I don't believe that you are installing this game from network,
so I am assuming that you are installing from CD-ROM.
Now, CD-ROM might bad and cannot read CD properly and that is why this could be problem with the package.
Maybe CD is bad and CD-ROM cannot read the content on the CD properly.

Try to install the game on some other PC.
If you successfully install this game, than problem is most likely with the CD-ROM.
If you cannot install on the other PC, the problem is most likely with the CD being bad.

Keep us posted...

I have researched solutions to this, and everyone says the same thing: to remove the previous version of AVG. We don't HAVE any previous versions of AVG on our laptop. We had Avast, and we removed it. So now what??

A:AVG installation error code 0xC0070643

EDIT:I'm assuming you are trying to install AVG instead of Avast. If you are NOT trying to install AVG and this error is popping up out of the blue then see the following post (#2 from Johnw) instead. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The usual cause for AV uninstall issues is not first shutting down real-time monitoring.I wonder if it is Avast remnants that are actually causing the problem - mis-reported. Try the Avast removal tool here (it removes all traces):http://www.avast.com/en-gb/uninstal...I'm curious as to why you are making this change. Mostly Avast is given better vibes than AVG.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanksmessage edited by Derek

A:error 1402, help!

Method 1: Check for Registry Damage
Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) and Microsoft Windows 98 include a tool called Registry Checker that can scan your registry for damage (corruption), and, if necessary, restore a backup of the registry. Follow the steps for your operating system to use Registry Checker to scan your registry:
For Windows Me:
1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Information.
2. On the Tools menu, click Registry Checker. You may receive the following error message:
Windows encountered an error accessing the system registry. Windows will restart the computer and repair the system registry for you.
If you receive this error message, proceed to step 3.

If you do not receive the error message, you can choose to compact and repair damage to the internal data structure of the system registry by following these steps: a.

b. Close all programs that are running.
c. Click Start and point to Run. In the Open box, type the following and then click OK:
scanreg /fix
d. Click Yes to restart the computer.

3. To restart your computer, click OK.
4. Follow the remaining steps to restore a good copy of the registry.

For Windows 98:
1. Restart the computer, press and hold down CTRL until the Windows 98 Startup menu appears, and then choose Command prompt only.
2. At the command prompt, type scanreg /fix and then press ENTER.
3. After the Registry Checker tool finishes repairing the registry, press ENTER.
4. At the command prompt, type scanreg /opt and then press ENTER.

NOTE: The /opt command-line switch causes the Registry Checker tool to optimize the registry by removing unused space.
5. Restart the computer.
Method 2: Run Setup Under a Different Profile
If the profile under which you are logged on is damaged (corrupted), you may be able to run Setup under a different user profile. If you log on under a different profile and you are able to install, you may need to delete and recreate the problematic profile. Otherwise, you may encounter the same problem when you try to install HL2 when you are logged back on under that profile.

This was taken direct from Microsoft about their Office App with the same error. Give it a try =)
Good luck

I get this error that says I don't have enough rights for a registry key. This happens when I install or uninstall a program.

Welcome
Rather than get involved in changing permisssions etc., try with this administrator. When you are done deactivate, it is not for everyday use
Administrator Account

Note: You do not have enough rights because what you are trying can cause problems with the computer. Be sure you know what you are doing, back up registry and make a system restore point first.

My uncle couldn't start Excel anymore. It would keep starting the setup and then fail with the message Error 1402. Setup cannot open the registry key UNKNOWN\.csv\Excel.csv\ShellNew.
After some time, I found the solution. In the registry editor (regedit.exe), search for the string "Excel.CSV".
It wuill find HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.csv. Then, in the treeview on the left, right-click the the key (.csv).
Select Permissions... and add full control to Administrators (provided you are logged on using an administrator account).

Whenever I try to install Microsoft Office Error 1402 (screenshot provided) appears. I have tried many suggestions, including manually changing permissions for Components, to no avail. Can anyone help?

A:Error 1402

Hi !! Welcome to SF !!

I have seen simialar issue with another software but the fix is kind of same. This happens when you don't have enough permission to those Registry Key you have mentioned in the error message. It quiet lengthy fix

First we have to Enable Build-in Administrator

Then Login under Build in administrator

Although, the GUIDS that appear in the actual error message which are beneath the parent key, are random. Please use the following steps to work around this issue:

1. Click Start under search type regedit.
2. Click Edit and select Find. The Find dialog box appears.
3. In the Find What field, type the GUID that was referenced in the error message and click Find Next.
Once located from the search, give the registry key adequate permissions:

1. Right-click on the key and select Properties. Click on the Security tab.
2. Click the Advanced button, then select the Owner tab.
3. Under the Owner tab, highlight the account your are currently signed into Windows as,
check the "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" box, click Apply, then click OK.

4. Close the Properties screen, then reopen it (see Step a).
5. Click the Security tab, highlight User account you selected to be the Owner in Step d and click the Advanced button and then Edit on the Permissions tab.

6. Check all boxes under the Allow column. Click Apply, then click OK.

7. Close out of the registry and attempt the installation again.
Note: If you recieve the same error, but referencing another GUID after giving permission to the initial GUID that prompted the error, repeat the above section to search the registry and give the appropriate permission.

Hope this helps,
Captain

I found this; Rename (or just delete) the SoftwareDistribution folder and see if it helps. You can use the procedure described here: http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/v5co...id=21&ln=en Note that a side effect of renaming or deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder is that you lose your Windows Update History listing (not critical). (later on, you can just delete the renamed SoftwareDistribution folder) http://www.eggheadcafe.com/forumarchives/w...ost24597399.aspBut can not make it out, and can not see the relationship with the, Microsoft Online Assisted Support ?Anyone who can co-relate this in explanation I will be glad to hear from !

Hello and welcome Cave mate I think personally although fiddly using this tutorial and invoking the ie.cfg removal tool would be far less problematical as long as you choose the correct version for which you have the activation code for.

Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 it does also give info on doing it with a stick anyhow.

Welcome sebas215 to Sevenforums.........

You are trying to update to windows 7 from Windows vista Home premium..

First of all you cant update Windows vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate..
You can update Windows vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate..
You must have vista Sp2 installed in order to update.

I have also tried to install latest .net4 downloaded from ms downloads, but get the same error.
The multitouch worked fine in win8 (which i hated) but this is a very clean install ( partitions removed and reformatted) of win7 ultimate, sp1 loaded. I updated as per ms instructions for all win7 updates it said i needed (not counting the Office ones i don't want). I've spent many hours now and any help would be appreciated.

Hello,

I've just installed Windows 8 (from usb) on my brand new HP laptop and everything worked fine. But I didn't partition hard drive as I wanted, so I decided to install it again.

During the 2nd installation, the keyboard wasn't working (don't know why). So, when I was supposed to make partitions again, I deleted every partition and tried to make new ones, but I couldn't 'cause of the keyboard. So I just exited from the installation and turned off the computer.

Then I tried to boot the system from usb again, but all I could see was a blue screen with a message that my computer is damaged and needs to be repaired. There was also an error code 0xc0000034. And now everytime I turn it on, there's only the blue screen with no other options.

Any suggestions what to do?
Thank you in advance.

I have attached screen shots of error messages. Whenever I try to open any office file, including trying to open outlook, the windows installer runs and then I get a 1402 error message.

I have recently removed AVG and installed avast.

Also, I was in the forum recently with virus issues. Computer ran well for a while, although I can no longer see icons on my desktop.

A:Error 1402 and other issues

Let's take this in steps. If you used Add/Delete to remove AVG you still have traces. If you still can find AVG in the start menu or their uninstaller anywhere, uninstall that way. Alternately, reinstall, then uninstall or remove all traces in the Registry manually.
If you uninstalled properly before or with this info, now Start>Run>scanregw.exe
If no help, we'll go from there.

Hi.

I've been looking all over the net for an answer to this one. Adobe Acrobat and Office 2007 are giving me the same error.

I've cleaned the registry, and in fact, I removed each and every Adobe key in the registry.

So, still no go.

Well, I've finally been able to locate the culprit key, but the key is damaged and the system will not let me fix it or delete it.

Anyone know of a way to explicitly remove a selected key???

Thanks,

A:Error 1402: Cannot access key

I'm having the exact same issue with my new machine running Windows 7.

I've tried going through Adobe's various walkthroughs on how to give yourself access to the offending key, only to find that even as an Admin I don't have permission to touch that registry key - let alone modify it.

Can anyone help on this?

Thanks,
Geoff

A:Error 1402 (for a newbie)

Hello and welcome

This a registry permissions problem, I believe. You would need the have Administrator rights to install this version (2002). Even if you have, it seems that certain registry keys have to have their permissions elevated. Unfortunately your error message doesn't identify the registry key precisely, but take a look at this:

http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/qaID.asp?tip=3327

Try locating these keys in the registry (Start => Run and type in regedit)
Right-click on those you find and click Permissions. Give Full permission to all who don't already have "Full Control".

Did you just download it or was it installed?Did it run normally before error began?Did you update drivers after upgrade?Have you done Windows Update after upgrade? What was your original OS?List your make and model number or individual components.Googling the error gave these results:https://www.google.com/search?q=err...As you can see, there are different issues it may pertain to depending on what you have. You need to give more details or begin searching through many possibilities. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

A:Error code 0x8007045D during Windows 7 Professional x64 Installation

Hi,

You covered a lot, so the only thing I can think of is to take the CD/DVD drive out of the equation (although I note you did install a Linux distro using that, in addition to PW).

Download the appropriate Windows 7 ISO here, then use this tool to write it to a 4GB USB flash drive, which also makes it bootable. Insert the drive into a USB2.0 port, and then boot from that and try the installation.

The error is usually an I/O error....although I don't know why you should be able to install a Linux distro and not Windows. Did you install all the motherboard drivers prior to attempting to install Windows 7?

Regards,
Golden

Hello and welcome Lazor PC mate for starters it would be best to remove all the drives except the one you want as the boot drive one - I mean just unplug the data cables (SATA) on the others and then try this tutorial way of installing it is the freshest version of whatever version you have on the machine. Br careful to pick only the version you have already because some smart A's try to go to a higher version and then get grief +++++++ when trying to activate using the original code.

Might I make a suggestion that if your budget can stretch to a SSD then it is by far and a way the way to go.

Hi ubtchanova Let's see if we can get the upgrade to install on your system. Follow the instructions below please.System File Checker (SFC)Follow the instructions below to run a SFC scan on your system and to provide the CBS log in your next reply; On Windows Vista & 7, click on the Windows Start Menu, then enter cmd in the search box, right-click on the cmd icon and select Run as AdministratorOn Windows 8, drag your cursor in the bottom-left corner, and right-click on the metro menu preview, then select Command Prompt (Admin); On Windows 8.1, right click on the Windows logo in the bottom-left corner and select Command Prompt (Admin);Enter the command below and press on Enter;sfc /scannowNote: There's a space between "sfc" and "/scannow";Once the scan is complete, enter the command below and press on Entercopy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"A file called cbs.txt will have appeared on your Desktop. Upload the file on Dropbox, Google Drive or OneDrive and post the download URL for it here;Note: Please note that the CBS.log is volatile, which means that if you don't upload it after the SFC scan is completed, it won't contains the information from the scan anymore. So archive it and upload it as soon as you can.

Hiya BlackRose.

I`ve recently experienced a similar problem which turned out to be a corrupt user account even after an AV and various anti-nasty scans. Any program clicked on came up with a failed initialization.

I created a new user account for myself with a slightly different name and after checking that I could once again open the previously failed programs etc, I transfered pictures, music and selected files from My Documents and desktop stuff from the old account to the new one, then deleted the old one with total success.

Well, there are a couple of things to check. Are you comfortable in the registry? If so, you can go to that key, right-click on it and check the permissions. If you prefer not to do that yourself you can download the subinacl utility, modify the script per the information in the link below, and run the script. It will change all permissions (files, folders, registry) at the same time. It will take a while to run - DO NOT STOP THE SCRIPT BEFORE IT IS FINISHED.. Note - subinacl is a powerful utility. If you use it be sure to follow all instructions to the letter.

I am so frustrated. I've recently reinstalled Windows XP Pro on my system. I searched online and found instructions to make changes to the registry. I thought I followed them, but I still get the same message. I've tried to uninstall, reinstall, repair, but with each attempt, the process bars progress part way... then the same message again and the bars shrink and I get a fatal error message. I am so frustrated. I could reinstall my system again, but I sure don't want to do that. There has to be a way around this. Maybe someone could tell me what my registry key should look like??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Diskeeper company tech guy was trying to help me download DK 12. Even though he was a highly qualified tech person, he could not get me past the 1402 error as we tried to install. I am still waiting for him to get back to me after researching the problem (about 10 days now). We went through the regedit process down to the "defrag path." We tried to change permissions in different approaches. Never succeeded. Any ideas?

A:1402 error on Diskeeper 12 install

Hello… I work for Condusiv Technologies and have tried getting into touch with you on several occasions.

The cause of the 1402 error is actually from your PC being unable to read/modify the registry keys that it needs to update in order to install the program. The error that normally appears will say something such as "Error 1402. Cannot open registry key: key_name". That key name will normally be a long textual path to one of the obscure registry keys on your computer. To fix this problem, you need to help your computer access the key it needs.

It would also be advisable to first download a registry cleaner from a trusted source and let that scan your system. It will look for any registry errors on your PC and attempt to fix them. In most cases this will correct the 1402 error in the process.

If that method doesn’t work, you should try using a different user account, or create a new administrators account and attempt to install the program while logged into that account. It's often the case that user accounts will become corrupted due to malicious software or websites visited which blocks access to the registry.

Hello pbowles3 and welcome to the forums

Was it my zip files that you saw by any chance? Yes, these issues are specific to the user that I'm helping. This should be a 5 minute job, but I've had all sorts of curveballs in the past.

Before we continue, I need to know whether the computer is x86 or x64?

Dropping the .msu file in that folder will do nothing whatsoever I'm afraid, it doesn't say to do that in the link that you provided either:

Hello I recently got a new laptop which worked perfectly fine until a while ago A few minutes after startup the error message xc a would pop up making the pc reboot I tried finding a solution for this on the internet and found a one on Windowsinstructed's site which suggested to start the pc in safe mode and execute the following two commands - DISM image C cleanup-image revertpendingactions - move C Windows WinSxS pending xml installation causing problem of code Error file 0xc00021a, C Windows WinSxS pending old I proceeded to do these steps and restarted my pc however this did not resolve the problem afterwards so I refreshed windows using advanced options This fixed the problem but after I installed everything I needed again and removed everything I didn't need like some Acer applications and some bloatware this error popped up again Is there any way I can easily see what is causing the problem without needing to tediously check programme after programme what is causing the error I can just refresh the OS again and not install any of those programmes but most of them are essential for me The things I installed after refreshing were -Start -Google Chrome -Comodo Antivirus -Microsoft Office -Modernmix -utorrent -Steam -Winrar Thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to TSF we could use some info on what you removed and what you used to remove it, since you did this before and it is now repeating the issue, it indicates you may have removed something which had a shared use.

So I have a server that is running a WDS server in which we have made images for a computer lab in the past. I recently have been working on setting up a new image, and I sysprepped and captured it from a computer. After uploading it to the server then
attempting to install it on a client PC, it will expand files until 99% then give me an error "Windows cannot install required files....error code: 0x80070714. I have mounted this image through imagex to check if there were any lingering file problems,
and did not find any. I took a default installation wim from an Enterprise disc and installed that through the server which worked fine. I even recaptured the image from the same computer to see if it was corrupted. I am unsure of what else to try. Thanks
for any help

Since yesterday I have tried five times with no success. I keep getting the same error message; Error Code 80224402C. I am using AVG as my virus software. Error code 2755 when attempting installation for any product.

I am getting Error 2755 when attempting to install or during installation of Java as well as a few other products I have tested as a cross-comparison to this error.

Upon attempting installation it states "The system cannot open the device or file specified."

When you click "Cancel" it states: "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing the package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2755."

The computer has Windows XP with SP3 and is fairly up to date, 99.9%. I need some ideas or help in fixing this. I am busy trying to search out some items but I'm hoping someone has fixed this before.

Thank You for yor input

A:Solved: Error Code 2755 when attempting installation of products...

Ok, if you want the short version... skip the links I posted for reference and just follow the steps. Its about 5 minutes or less depending on your machines stability and ability to compute your moves. I recommend you to reboot your computer in between steps and before you begin be sure to create a System RESTORE point as well.

This was written using XP, your system will vary slighty but not much. And YES, this is the broad basics.

Two things first...

Find out what version your MSI installer is and if it needs updating. NOTE: i would have guessed you would of received a different code or error if you just needed an update!?. Such as a message stating to be out of date; needs updating; is corrupted; etc.. i'm failry sure it works this way too. I was also getting an error 2755 when attempting a JAVA install. This turned out to be related to the "Windows Installer" not being set to Automatic and/or the service Started!
1.) --> Start --> Run --> type "Msiexec" (Case insensitive and without quotes))

Should this attempt not work, Microsoft lists the long run around to this as ...--> Start --> Run --> type either "command" or "cmd", and at the command prompt enter the "Msiexec". In either case read the information posted in the box, if any all you will need is the version number.

This machine had stated "V 3.01.4001.5512" which as of September 10, 2010 a new version was released to which this machine happily updated to "v4.5.6001.22159"

NOTE: Updating to current September 10, 2010 MSI Installer Package v4.5 supports ALL 2.x thru 3.x installs of MSI. This WILL NOT matter if it's a PERMISSIONS issue!

This is the information to the latest MSI installer v4.5 here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/942288/

The download here:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6F-60B6-4412-95B9-54D056D6F9F4&displaylang=en

NOTE: In the file list via the above link Microsoft accordingly states the file as version 3.x for x86/XP.. IT HAS THE 4.5 INSTALLER in it and should be renamed. But that would be too easy:

--->> The file is named as: WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe (Two Thumbs Up!!)
2.) Be sure your Windows Installer via the Services Snap-In says its functioning and is set to automatic via these steps:

Click --> Start --> Run --> type either "compmgmt.msc" or "services.msc" to get the "Services and Applications // Services" Snap-In window.

Alphabetized you'll find the "Windows Installer" near the bottom of the list. See that it is set to Automatic and Enabled via right click and properties, or similar.
3.) These are the other options to try if the above show good thus far and If your not getting a "required update or missing/corrupted file or similar then it very well may be a PERMISSIONS issue. So, diligently going about so as not be corrupt your admin account...

First, right click the file your trying to install and allow it unrestricted permission. You can also try and workaround the next step by giving it administrative access via the "Run As" command. This last part is providing you have another account with administrative rights. Now.....

For XP, decipher what your admin account name is (see very bottom of this post), if this is the account your on then have someone help you create another account for your daily access and as a backup operation. Either way, log into the admin account. and, if thats the account your using or going to use...

...and if you have tried installing your program of issue with this account and it fails then follow these steps:

Under the start menu.. -->Start --> Run --> type %Temp%

(YOU MUST HAVE allowed viewing Hidden and System files via the above "Folder Options" menu's), Then, hit your backspace key, see that "Temp" folder, right click the TEMP folder and check for "permissions"... Read more

Installation of Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 fails everytime on my PC. It stops on the very first step (Runtime Pre-requisites). When I took a look at the error report, I found out that the error code was (Can you believe my luck!) 1603. It just means "Fatal Error during installation" (Or does it?).

After this, I tried to intall this software after uninstalling VC++ 2005 and deleting all of the related files too but it didn't work either. I gathered from the installation log that the installation just did diddly-squat at the very first step. Anyway, I am attaching the installation logs for analysis. Please help me!

Hi there,

at the moment i'm trying to install the sp2 for office 2010 64bit via windows update and it fails every time. During the installation it asks for the file ProPlusWW.msi and i'm pointing to the file in the x64-folder on the dvd. Shortly after that the installation quits with code 8024002D 'Unkown error in windows update' (see attachment).

PS: like the picture shows its a german installation

I hope somebody can help me

A:Office 2010 64bit: error code 8024002D during installation SP2

I also tried to install via downloading the sp2 (officesp2010-kb2687455-fullfile-x64-de-de.exe) but this fails also. The problem here is that it only shows a message box (Error during installation of the package.) without any code/error-number.

When attempting a clean install i receive and error after clicking 'Install Now' (step 3). It reads

Windows cannot open the required file D:\sources\install.wim. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007000D

I've searched the forums a bit and haven't found any other posts about this error. I've tried installing both the 32 and 64 bit versions, same issue for both. Help please!

Edit: i'm attempting the clean install on my old vista 32bit laptop, not my windows 7 desktop.

Edit #2: when i attempt to run the 32bit setup file while in vista it immediately opens a window that says 'windows installer has stopped working'

A:Installation error code: 0x8007000D cannot open D:\sources\install.wim

This is with the Build 8102 Windows dev Preview download?

What do you have the installation media on...a USB drive, a DVD, etc?

Possible maybe the downloads were corrupt? Try downloading one again and try that one. Or stick on different device USB, DVD, drive, etc..and try.

Also might scan your HDD/SSD you're trying to install it to for any possible defects.

Hello!
Running windows 7 64 bit, amd 965 cpu. If you need more info about specs, ask me. I am encountering "Error code 2203" while installing. It fails to install and I've tried running as admin, windows xp compatibility, and everything. In the event viewer there is also KERNELBASE.dll, xamlparse, and mscorlib errors.

I do not know how to fix this and I'm fairly competent with computers.

A:Error 1402 when uninstalling Office 2007

Hi !! Welcome to SF !!

I have seen similar issue with another software but the fix is kind of same.

Hope this helps,
Captain

Well I have run into a problem. In installing Access 2010 on my Windows 7 64 bit ultimate I get to the point where my product key is verified on line via MS BUT part way maybe 2/3 through the install ( all security turned off ) it pops up an error message 1402.

I do still have MS Basic Office on the setup but I received no information I can't do that.

See attached image of popup. This error relates to being unable to access a registry key and questions the permissions. There are others with the same issue. Installing in safe mode gave a no can do message.

Please advise.
