Hello This is my first post here as this is my first issue with this 7,... Pavillion issue! (windows HP dv6 notebook audio recording computer My microphones won't pick up any sound- this computer has two different ones an integrated one and an outer one and yet neither work Troubleshooting only picks up whether they're enabled or not and I've tried recording after enabling them and disabling them restarting etc I've checked with Beats Audio and they're turned on there as well and the drivers say they are up to date Yet nothing is working HP Pavillion dv6 notebook audio recording issue! (windows 7,... when I used to voice recognition test it wouldn't even pick up any outside audio nbsp I should note that the webcam doesn't work as well because when I bought it it would disconnect the internal camera often and when trying to fix it someone uninstalled the driver or something - though at the time audio still recorded just fine and I didn't need the webcam nbsp IDT High Definition Audio CODECIntel R Display Audio nbsp If any other information is needed please let me know Thanks for everything
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
Hello katrapezo. I understand you're having some trouble recording audio. Have you tried recording in another application such as Sound Recorder? I'd also like you to remove your audio drivers and allow Windows to reinstall them. Here are the steps.Click Start, type "Device Manager," and press Enter.Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.Right click on your sound card and select "Uninstall."Reboot your computer.Verify whether the problem persists. Also, what is your notebook's product number? This document can show you where it is located.Have a wonderful day.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/HP-Pavillion-dv6-notebook-audio-recording-issue-windows-7/td-p/2737617
Hello, I'm having the same problem and it says Stereo Mix (IDT High Definition Audio Codec, Currently Unavailable). I even called HP and their Tech support couldn't fix the issue! we did install the drivers and everything enev I performed a factory reseta! No success! The whol thing happened after I upgreated windows to win 10 from win 7! even after I put the laptop back to win 7 stil no audio input and out puts and codecs in device manager!
did you find the sulotion? If you did please let me know.
hank you very much
So i have stereo mix in my recording devices and it works properly when i select my desktop speakers as an output, but as soon as i change my playback device to my optical outpput, it stops monitoring any type of playback in windows. Is there any type of fix for this? All I want to do is have my optical sound monitored by stereo mix so that my visualization program R4 can find an audio source, and sync playback with.
Oh yea, the program works fine when using desktop speakers, since it can monitor the stereo mix. So I know the program works at least.
Thanks in advance.
Doubtful because "Stereo Mix" is part of the analog circuit. The A/D converters are probably past the point that Stereo Mix intersects.
I don t know if this is hardware or software related so my apologies if I m in the wrong forum It IS multimedia related I have a Dell Latitude D laptop It uses a SigmaTel audio card for playback and recording I am trying to create ring tones using a free software program called Audacity I am able to play a cd and record the portion of the audio I want for my ring tone I issue audio Laptop recording then export the Laptop audio recording issue clip from Audacity using lame at a bit rate of This seems to work best on my phone The problem is Laptop audio recording issue that at times there are intermittent clicks in what I record This is not a huge issue since the audio quality is not great to begin with But I was wondering if anyone knows why this happens It seems to be happening during the recording process Also the clicks are present if I record my voice alone I think it must be either the laptop stutters as it is Laptop audio recording issue trying to multitask or the driver is not the best I don t think it is a ground issue as I ve tried it on battery only as well as plugged in Not a big deal but just curious if anyone out there has had similar problems or suggestions Thanks sk nbsp
Its not the windows sound of clicks as processes are started and stopped is it? If it were that you could try turning off all system sounds (Control panel>>Sounds and Audio Devices>>Sounds tab and set sound scheme to no sounds and apply. If that's not it its probably some sort of interference or program quirk that will be hard to get rid of "in-system." If you use a USB adapter or play it in from an external source like line in or mic in you may get a cleaner recording but if you're already using CD audio in that should be an isolated channel as well. Try to avoid recording sterio or mono mix since that tends to pick up on a lot more system sounds.
I recently purchased a Dell Inspiron S -bit system because my old PC crashed This came with Windows Vista Installed It also had Realtek HD Audio Manager installed as Audio Manager Realtek HD Recording Issue the sound interface This past weekend i tried recording for the first time but experienced some issues When I plugged in my microphone and set the quot Mic Boost quot at i noticed that i was only hearing sound through the left channel I do normally hear Realtek HD Audio Manager Recording Issue sound out of both channels when playing music or watching videos online this problem only happens when recording The right channel was not picking anything up at all I went ahead and proceeded to record with the program quot Magix Music Maker Producer Edition quot and while recording i noticed the same thing- only the left channel was picking up sound I tried going into the quot Realtek Audio Manager quot and adjusting the recording settings but nothing worked Could this be an issue with the soundcard itself Contacted Dell and they were no help Also contacted Realtek and they were no help either I am considering purchasing an external Audio Midi Interface to see if that will resolve my issue Tascam US- L is the one i am looking at One more thing i did try using several microphones to see if that was the problem and all microphones had the same issue If anyone can help i would really appreciate it thanks in advancehttp://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/realtek-hd-audio-manager-recording-issue-324416.html

hp pavillion laptop 15-p067ca model, purchased year ago, came with windows 8.1, was not updated to windows 10. seems to have a bug: on start up it welcomes me as a user "vladimir" asks for password and then hangs up forever with the white screen and unresponsive. Password I'm sure is right, because if I type different password, machine comes back with "Incorrect password" message. What do you think is a problem and how to go back to factory settings? I have not made a recovery disc. Any comp supposedly have a recovery partition, and Recovery Manager but how can I do anything if Window does not come up?

Last night I recorded a DJ set, 2 channels in 24/96 and the computer failed about 3 hours into it. I?m not completely sure why. I was using a new app for recording Vegas 9.0. I have used SF 10.0 and used it to complete the night. The computer should be able to handle it. Back in 05 I recorded multiple times never an issue with a single core P4 4 channels at 24/96, 7 plus hour sets (different audio interface) .
I know there a number of professionals as well as hobbyist that might know of ways to tune a windows computer by turning off any unnecessary windows apps or other tweaks so I can have more resources for recording.
I have a recording studio (using Sonar X2 Professional 64 bit version).
I doubt that its a Windows OS issue. Other programs running can eat into memory and CPU time but I doubt that it would cause the PC to bomb out. Either a problem in the recording program or a hardware issue would be my guess.
I had one of those low cost Rosewill cases. It didn't last long and was replaced by a much better Coolermaster.
Overheating comes to mind as the first possibility. My recording studio system is an Intel i7 3770 CPU with 16 GB of G.Skill Ripsaw RAM, but I've never used over 6GB and that was with several midi channels along with several analog audio channels. I have a Corsair H80 liquid cooler for the CPU, for both cooling and to reduce fan noise. i'm using a Coolermaster case with plenty of (low noise) fans. I record at 24 bits, 44.1Khz (which is mixed down to 16 bit, 44.1Khz CD standard).
I have a HP pavillion Notebook (DV9700 with Vista) that is suppose to have a built in camera. However I can not access this camera. Is there someway or something I have to do before trying to access the camera?

Hi I want to instal one SSD disk on my computer. Do anyone now if it is Sata 3 port on this computer ? If it isn`t can I install Sata 3 port or do I have to chang motheboard ! Regards KOB32
Hi: Run this free hardware analyzer that I have zipped up and attached below. Run the file, close the summary window and on the left side of the window, click to expand the Drives section. Then click to expand the sata/atapi drives section. Click on your hard drive name listed there. The first line will be the Drive Controller spec. It will report the hard drive type running at a certain speed. For example Serial ATA 6 Gb/s @ 6 Gb/s. If your notebook only has a SATA II port, it might report Serial ATA 6 Gb/s @ 3 Gb/s, or Serial ATA 3 Gb/s @ 3 Gb/s.

[/B]I have had the notebook for five years; yesterday the following message:
NTLDR is missing
Press ctrl + alt + del to restart
When the user does the instruction, the boot starts and the message repeats.
I really do not want to do a reinstall of the operating system; if someone has away to reinstall just the boot tracks.
 Is this a virues?
Is this the work of a hacker?
Has there been an MS-XP failure?

Check this site out. How to fix: NTLDR is missing, press any key to restart Its long but should fix your problem.
I have tried twice to upgrade my HP Pavillion DV4 notebook to a Samsung 840 Solid State Drive and the two times it only shows a "J" while trying to boot. The first time I used the Migrate OS to SSD option in Minitool Partition Wizard. The second time I used the copy disk option, with the same result. Has any1 been successful in upgrading to a SSD? if so, which application was used? TIA. That's odd. Since Cakewalk themselves claim that Windows 8 performs significantly better (multi-digit cpu performance increases) than Windows 7, and that Sonar works perfectly unchanged.
The Cakewalk Blog ? Blog Archive ? Windows 8 ? A benchmark for music production applications
Even more curious is that Cakewalk has a native Windows 8 version:
The Cakewalk Blog ? Blog Archive ? A Deeper Look at SONAR X2a – Native Windows 8 and Touch Support
And FL Studio claims Windows 8 compatibility
Strange we keep getting these new posters claiming all this terrible compatibility problems with Windows 8 that just don't seem to be supported by either the vendors themselves, or actual facts.

HP Support Assistant reports that there is a software update available to download. Click yellow triangle, get to products, shows a software download available, but does not specify what the download is.
Click on Message / update. Four segment square icon starts rotating through the segments. Runs and runs and runs, now more than 2 hours. Nothing downloads.
This is the third time today I've tried to download the supposed software update. Same result each time. Nothing downloads.

Hello. I have a HP Pavillion 15 Notebook PC product number: J1X37EA#AB9 with Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4510U CPU @ 2.00GHz 2.60GHz, RAM: 12,0 GB, Windows 10 64-bits and in what comes to graphics i have Intel(R) HD Graphics 4400 and a NVidia GeForce 840M. I believe my intel graphic card is integrated in the board but the Nvidia one can be upgraded. Am I wrong or can I really upgrade my graphics card?
Hi, Unfortunately the Nvidia chip is integrated and not an upgradeable component - this is the case for most consumer class notebooks. Regards, DP-Khttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Can-I-upgrade-my-graphic-card-in-my-HP-Pavillion-15-Notebook/td-p/5843097
Hello,I was recently given a pavillion dv9821ea laptop which was in bad shape after being infected with a virus. I eventually had to replace the hard drive and at the same time I upgraded the operating system to windows 7 PRO 64bit. I was unable to save nothing from the origonal hard drive, no drivers, HP software etc and since I installed Windows 7, the laptop seems to have several problems including not downloading Windows updates. I connect it to the HP assistant, but this recognises the laptop and only gives me the choice of Windows Vista as the operating system for which to support drivers etc. I wonder if you could help me by letting me know if there is anywhere I can download Windows 7 pro 64bit drivers for this laptop? my wife and I are both disabled and it would make a great difference to me if I could have full use of this laptop. Regards. Gerald
Hi, Gerald: HP did not support that model for W7, and you should be able to use the Vista drivers from the dv9821ea support page except the BIOS and firmware files. Additionally, you can read this helpful dv9000 W7 upgrade guide for some tips on getting W7 to work just fine on that model. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Windows-7-Upgrade-Guide-for-dv60...http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Drivers-for-Pavillion-dv9821ea-entertainment-notebook/td-p/5594190

Sounds like it might be time for a reinstall to refresh the OS and overcome any lingering infection. Follow these same steps for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 particularly when it comes to drivers and Updates.
Otherwise work through these Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 including the hardware tests.
Extremely frustrated I've looked and tried to find a solution to no avail When the notebook boots up it gets to the login screen I wouldn't be able to do anything at that point but I can log in because I have a fingerprint scanner from there I'm dead in the water The only way to shut down is to hold down the power button While the computer is in bootup I have touchpad keyboard function I can escape to boot options BIOS repair etc and have normal functionality while there but not in safe mode I have ran SFC with commands several times chkdsk with commands several times nothing changes SFC says it found problems but was not able to fix all of them and keyboard Notebook and on Pavillion HP touchpad 3225dx dv6 Frozen the last chkdsk found nothing wrong Here are the events leading up to had disk errors and bad sectors in old hard drive could not repair cloned old hard drive to new hard drive there were errors but the new hard drive booted and worked for the most part correctly in the process of trying to fix missing setup files for applications and other miscellaneous small issues I ran troubleshooting updates chkdsk sfc etc removed various applications and added a few nothing worked I installed Revo uninstaller to remove Kaspersky Internet Security as it is THE MOST stubborn application to remove I've ever experienced The reason I mention that is because I went through my computer trying to find the leftover files even after Revo because Kaspersky was still running after re-installing it and uninstalling it again There were some files in System that had kaspersky attached to it's description I stopped them from running and deleted them They were close to the kb files and after researching which files Frozen touchpad and keyboard on HP Pavillion dv6 3225dx Notebook to remove I remember in the end of the post it said it wouldn't delete Frozen touchpad and keyboard on HP Pavillion dv6 3225dx Notebook a certain file beacause you wouldn't have keyboard functionality I made sure I didn't but I can't help Frozen touchpad and keyboard on HP Pavillion dv6 3225dx Notebook to think now that out of the files I deleted some of them kernel I may have deleted the mouse and keyboard files in error I tried a System Restore of the most recent point prior to the issue and it did not work I think now that I should have tried it again at an earlier point but didn't and I did that from the repair module obviously since I couldn't do it anywhere else I have tried since to do another but the restore points have disappeared The last time I had a working touchpad keyboard in Windows I ran sfc scannow offbootdir d offwindir d windows at boot in the command prompt I got the same message that it found errors but did not fix them all Then I ran chkdsk f r from boot at the command prompt When I returned to my computer after a couple hours I rebooted and no longer had a touchpad or keyboard I am up in arms and extremely frustratd as I feel I have tried absolutely everything to get them to work again I hope that the only option I have left is to format and clean install I do not have a full back up and can't get one fully executed at this point Please help Thanks in advance to any suggestion and assistance that you may be able to provide it's much appreciated The following link is to the support page of my Notebook http h www hp com ewfrf wc product product amp lc en amp cc us amp dlc en amp lang en amp tmp track link
If you have (and should have) a USB keyboard and mouse connect them and see if they will work.
Since your file system was already corrupted you cloned the bad files to the new drive.
If the USB devices work you should do a Repair Install.
If that doesn't work do this: Using System Recovery, Factory Reset and Minimized Image Recovery Options HP Pavilion dv6-3225dx Entertainment Notebook PC | HP? Support
From this tut:
Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
On newer models HP Recovery may offer a Minimized OS Recovery option when booting from F11, which retains only the OS, Recovery Manager, HP Support Asst, and HP Wireless LAN. This is as close to a clean reinstall as you can get without doing one yourself.
● If you clean reinstall only to C and leave all other partitions intact, F11 Recovery key should still work later if you need it.
● You can also Extract HP 3rd Party Software from RecovCD.
● Problems with volume control lighting and HP Quick Launch buttons have been dealt with here where you can also get further support.

Hello everyone. I am using a old-ish Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista. So, every time I'm playing songs on YouTube, then open FL Studio 10, FLS 10 won't let me play or record any audio. When I look at the "ASIO4ALL" box it has A little red "X" on audio output(I use "Realtek HD Audio" if that helps). Now when I stop the internet audio/YouTube and restart FLS 10, the little red "X" is gone and all the sound works... I was wondering how to play Internet audio while playing or recording audio on FL Studio 10 is there something I can tweak with the laptop audio or some better sound program I can download free(or not free)and not have to get a new sound card??? Thank you for your time. Peace.
Please use the font I've changed your post to above. Otherwise, apart from hurting the eyes of the reader, you'll seem to be like shouting.
Recording from youtube, be it whole clips or the audio track, is against youtube's TOS.
Therefore closing this since we cannot help.
FOUND A FREEWARE yes actually free no oh it s freeware until you ve downloaded it then you find you actually need to pay to unlock the features you wanted UTILITY CALLED MEDIACODER THAT DID WHAT I NEEDED Hi Well basically what I was wanting to do was video Solved: mediaplayer recording running a a problem from in windows file audio portion of take a sample of some of the audio from a video file playing in Windows Media player to use in some music I m making Purely for my own amusement not for sale no copyright infringement etc etc I have Ableton and an M-Audio Firewire external soundcard I foolish assumed there would be a setting in Ableton to simply monitor the output from WMP and record it direct Apparently there is no such setting which surprises me somewhat You can only monitor inputs from the soundcard In effect I would be wanting to select the output of the soundcard to actually record what I m hearing playing WMP on my speakers Ableton told me it was only possibly with an extremely complicated workaround I did try simply plugging jack leads from the output to one of the inputs but the sound is distorted in a metallic manner I have no idea why that is so what I decided was there has to be a simple way to left segments of audio from a video file I can t think how you can do it with WMP so is there a simple piece of shareware freeware I can use Solved: recording a portion of audio from a video file running in windows mediaplayer problem to take audio from video files I don t want the whole of the audio Solved: recording a portion of audio from a video file running in windows mediaplayer problem I simply want a portion of it preferably as a WAV file of good quality Surely there is a simple way Many thanks Jonathan nbsp
It will basically record anything you can hear and save it as a WAV or mp3.

Several weeks ago I bought the new HP Pavillion dv9574ea notebook and the HEADPHONE SOCKETS do not work - there are two. Only the speakers work. Even when I put a working set of headphones which are the right size, I cannot hear anything through the hearphones. The normal loud speakers however keep working, although they should switch off when the headphones are plugged in.
Please see the screenshot of the drivers active (in system 32 folder) and other details about the headphone socket.
Thank you for any help.

I have had to replace the hard drive in my laptop and the volume of my Beats Audio speaker is not as high as it should be. I assume a driver needs to be installed. I am currently running Windows 8.1. Please advise if this is a driver issue and where I can find the driver needed and instructions to install. Thanks
Please provide the model number or the product number of your system. Also please follow these steps:1. In the search option of Charms Bar type devmgmt.msc. Select the resulted file in the left pane. This opens Device Manager.2. Unknown devices would be listed as such and marked out with a yellow question mark.3. Select the unknown device or other device for which you need drivers and right click to access Properties.4. In the Properties window click on Details tab and select Device Instance Id or Hardware ID from the drop down.5. An alphanumeric string like this PCI\VEN_1217&DEV_7130&SUBSYS_012F1025&REV_01\4&6B16D5B&0&33F0 is the identification marker for the device.6. Just downloaded Windows 8 Professional from Dreamspark Premium. Installation has gone really well and I'm getting used to it already, but there's a slight problem - no sound
Has anyone got any instructions for sorting this out? the laptop I'm using is a HP Pavillion DV6-6b50sa which normally uses IDT Audio.
Installing audio drivers aren't my forte so if anyone could help then it'd be much appreciated
Thanks in advance
EDIT: Just tried unplugging the headphones - sound works fine without the headphones, but when I plug them in it goes dead again, then the whole thing just stopped - any ideas?
If anyone else has the same problem with IDT Audio - go to the 'SWSetup' folder (accessible from the C: drive), then 'Audio' then run IDT. It will ask you to restart - restart then when you log back on, sound will work through headphones toohttp://www.eightforums.com/sound-audio/8641-idt-audio-pavillion-dv6-not-working.html
Hello, I was watching a video and my laptop fell asleep and logged out. Once I logged back in everything was working fine except there was no audio. I've tried doing a system restore, uninstalling the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC and reinstalling it, disabling and enabling it, restarting, running antivirus, and ensuring everything is updated on my laptop. Nothing is working, there is no audio from my built in speakers at all. please help
It's been a while since I worked this information up.
I'll give you what I have saved for no sound.
Start - Control Panel - Sound - Playback Tab - Check to see if their is a green
spot with a white check mark in the green dot.
Another thing to do - Right click on that page in an empty spot and put a
check mark for - Show disconnected devises.
In the Control Panel - Open Realtek Audio Manager (yours may have a different name)
Speakers Tab - Theirs a slider bar and at it's end a picture of a speaker.
If it has a red x left click it to remove the red x.
If anyone has been in this location they may have made changes to stop your
speakers from working.
I've tried to remove Windows XP Information if I didn't miss something.
See if your sound has been stopped in Services Under
Windows Audio and also Windows Audio E
Start - Control Panel - Open Administrative Tools - Click Services and Scrowl down the list to Windows Audio to see if it says - Started. If stopped
Left click Windows Audio and click restart. -
Right click Windows Audio - left click Properties - Left click Start

I forgot to mention in the main post, and I can't edit it, so here it goes:
First, Sometimes I need to run LiveUSB Linux distros in this notebook, and the audio in them is all great, realistic audio range, 100% loud but not extreme, everything OK.
Second, I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro up-to-date.
My laptop was recently upgraded to Windows 10 and now I can't print anything. I get an error message that reads,"Windows cannot print due to the current printer setup." I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and even purchased a new printer. Still no printing. I'm assuming that some file somewhere has been corrupted, but not sure how to find it or fix it. Hello. I have a HP Pavillion 500-314. It runs on Windows 10. My audio was working fine until I was forced to reset the computer after my computer went into a "Preparing Automatic Repair" loop. After I reset the computer, there was an "x" next to the little speaker icon in the lower right hand corner. When I hover my mouse over the speaker icon, it says "No speakers or headphones are plugged in". This is driving me crazy as the other posts regarding the IDT High Definition Audio have not worked. I would greatly appreciate a speedy response. Thank you for your time.-Shayna Ghram-Kaiser
Hi: Since I don't know what other posts you read regarding this matter, what works for most forum members is to install the W8.1 IDT audio driver from your PC's support and driver page. This package provides the IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system. - Provides the audio driver release for supported desktop models and operating systems. File name: sp65946.exe If you have already done that and it didn't resolve the problem, unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Audio/IDT-High-Definition-Audio-not-working-HP-Pavillion-500-314/td-p/5299573

having problem with Audio on HP Paviliion a1025C. Just reloaded XP and went to HP's website for drivers and everything is working fine except under Device Manager I get a Question mark under PCI and the Audio is misssing. The Audio is integrated to the motherboard. Tried all the drivers at the website but it won't update what is missing and HP wants $44 just to have a tech fix the problem over the phone. Anyone out there help me with guidance on how to fix this and get the sound back on the system? Thanks

You'll need to be a little more specific than that. Integrated hardware has more than one driver to install, i think it can get upwards of 6 differant dirvers taht need to be installed. When the HP setup starts extracting the files for the driver installation take note of the directory that it's going to, then point the driver wizard to that locaiton when it asks for you to specify a location.
Does anyone have a solution to 4 Channel audio recording.
I have 4 seperate audio channels that I need to store in discrete files, preferrably by writing a pair of .wav files.
looking to optimize for low latency audio.
Quad 2400 w/ nvidia Quadro graphics card and RME 52 Channel Audio card... both sharing irq 16 with intel MB network chip. How can i get the audio card to have priority? Is win 7 going to solve the audiophile's problems?
This might have your answer.
I have a Dell Vostro 200, running xp. I have my speakers and mic hooked up to the back, and i have an external recording device (Eventide DIR911t) attached to the front with a regular stereo wire. Is it possible to have all the Audio from the mic muted on my speakers but still output to the recording device.
I don't think the default windows audio settings can achieve this you will probably need to use an audio mixing software program like audacity or ultramixer to get that kind of granular control.
I didn't know how to make this Topic Title short but here goes....
I have a Soundblaster board and a Plextor 12-10-32A CD-R/RW. The SB board has a Line-In jack and I can plug most any audio line into it. From there I can make a WAV file easily.
Here's the problem: To Record audio from the Line-In jack to the CD-R drive, I have to make a WAV file first then record the WAV file to the CD-R. I want to record the audio Line-In directly to the CD-R in the audio format. Any ideas?
As the Line-In is audio and the CD is audio I would think that it should be possible to do this. Does anyone know of software that may do this?
Thanks for all your help, Steve-x8086
Hi, I'm looking for a freeware program that records all audio out. I've seen some programs which record streaming audio but do they also record other audio? One of my friends told me about a program that did this but I don't remember what it's called exactly. It was something like WMC Encoder but I've had no luck finding it. Does anybody know what program he was talking about or a similarly good program?
It has to be a windows application. Thanks for your help
I want to record my sound coming through the computer and say things into my mic at the same time.I watched a bunch of people do this by putting on stereo mix and then unmuting the mic sound level by right clicking on speakers in your sound mixer, going to properties, and unmuting the sound level, the problem is the only sound level I find in there is my speaker's,not my mic's.Is there a way to make it so I can see my sound level of my mic so I can un mute it?http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/recording-audio-help-667534.html
I have lots of vinal/tape/md that I need to copy and edit etc. to CD.
Not all in one hit but fairly reguilalry.
Now, what I'm using which seems long winded is below procedure. say for 12" to CD, also my PC is in the room next to my DJ room ! (so plenty of running from room to room to start/stop recording of both MD and PC!!!)
1> copy record to MD, eq'ing,.
2> edit MD to exactly how I want the CD
3> play MD, into PC's soundcard.
4> record using creative recorder as a .wav file
5> edit spaces on .wav file
6> convert to .mp3 using a different program
7> copy to CD using NTI pro. programme
the .wav files are pretty big as the mixes are usually around 30 minutes long.
This is what I've been doing, and if you have diferent types of chord/cable connections, ya might be able to not use the equalizer.
Carry your turntable over to your computer. You don't need an amp. I take the double "stereo outs and connect them into a 1985 radio shack volume equalizer or any thing that will combine your two channels into one plug. and come out of that with one chord to computer, use a pin converter(large plug into small pin) to enter soundbourd. Don't use mic in, but try different inputs to get best input. I use music match recorder, basic, it has a volume limiter on input. You can record the whole side of lp. Then re-record this through "Audacity" its free, and get rid of snap, crackle and pop. It takes a few times to get it right, or just close ur eyes and pretend your sittin next to a fire. Take the recording from Audacity and down load to a file, latter to be uploaded to ur cd. Once in the mood and motivated, this ain't too big of a job and audacity really cleans it up. Can't remove skips though. This is totally basic and I learned how to do it through boredom. Plus nothing blew up.
My new computer has a CD-RW drive (as well as a DVD drive).
How do I burn songs from the web onto a CD that I can play on my CD player?
I bought TDK CD.R discs - do I have to format them first?
And will I be able to gradually add songs, until the disc is full, i.e. burn one today, and if at some other time I'll like another one, burn it onto the same disc up to a total of 80 minutes?
With my computer came Roxio Easy CD Creator 5; and Musicmatch Jukebox.
I am obviously a complete neophite - please bear with me!
i am trying to record some audio. I have a eurorack mixer (not high end but not low end by any means) and im plugged into the headphone-sized mic jack on my pc. im getting a hissing sound on my recordings i cant seem to get rid of. in trying to discover the source of the problem i turned the main output on my mixer down to 0 and my mic input on my pc down to 1. when i plug headphones into the mixer i hear nothing (as i should, the volume is all the way down), but when i record and play back the recording (which should be silent) i get the hissing. i have used kristal audio angine and audacity and both suites have had the same problem, so it is not software related. any help?http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/audio-recording-267353.html
So, I've bought Asus K52JT-SX067V and I've got Fraps... Quickly realized it will record only sound from mic... Searched for Stereo Mix in settings, but only mic is shown (I have "show inactive devices" activated)... Installed drivers from Realtek webpage, but still same... Can anyone help?
P.S.: Sorry for my English if I do any mistake
This is what I use, no install or setting needed Audacity Portable.http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/167439-audio-recording.html

How can I record the audio portion of a YouTube video?
Hello Dick, and welcome to Seven Forums.
You should be able to use the What u Hear feature along with Sound Recorder to record it.
Hope this helps,
Hi I use to have Windows 98 and would use a device it came with under Accessories, then Entertainment (can't think of the devices name right now). It looked like a little stereo. Had a section that looked like a CD player, another section looked like a tape player. Anyway, if I wanted to record an audio clip to my PC using a mic I would use this device to capture the audio. Since I have XP all I see that records is the Sound Recorder and that only records for about 1 minute. I need to capture more then a minutes worth each clip. With Windows 98 I downloaded all my albums to my PC with this device and then burned them. How can I do that with XP
Here's a link for a freeware program that will record up to ten minutes of audio.
I tried to install Wavepad and it won't work with win7.
Any suggestions for a freebie prog recorder that records free radio streams?
This might be a deal breaker for me for moving back down to XP.

I have a problem which I present in front of you for a solution. While listening to some songs from a music site [htp:// www.raaga.com] I tried to record the same using PCI audio applications. Eventhough recrding was appeared to have been taking place, recorded file could not be played back. There was no sound when the file was played . Kindly let me know the method of recording [in any format] while listwning from the site. Down load option was not available in this site.

Most likely the site have made it impossible for the sound to be recorded, to prevent theft of the music, but as you dont say what application you used to try and record it, its a little difficult to say for definate.
I wont say how it can be done as this condones piracy and I dont do that sort of thing.
I have a Dell Inspiron 3521 laptop with Windows 10, and I want to do some audio recording. The problem is that I'm getting no sound input either from the internal microphone, or the external.
I think the Realtek sound driver update is to blame, and the settings are misconfigured, since it did work before. Is there a problem with Windows 10, or perhaps the drivers?
How can I repair this?
I have found the "Imus in the Morning" show on an internet radio station and am wondering if there are any free programs available which would enable me to record the three hours worth of programming each day onto either a blank CD or DVD?
Thanks in advance.
I recorded a clip on my webcam (it normally works), but for some stupid reason the one I did recently only has visuals and no audio. It is in wmv format.
Is there anything that can possibly be done?! like a software that might be able to hear sound on it or conversion etc
Did you try the file on another PC to see if it plays audio. Can you hear audio now for other things on the PC? Did you just forget to record the audio with the video this one time?
I have a hinge problem on my laptop. The left hinge is dropping and my laptop is "splitting at the seam." It's lifting up the area around the power button. I'm not sure if it's the hinge or the plastic part that surrounds the hinge. Can someone help me or advise me of my options?
I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forum.
After installing W7 my network card wont give me the same strength on some of the networks that i usually get a very good connection on. Anyone else having the same issue? or does anyone know of a fix? ive tried contacting HP (no help what so ever) and the drivers are not on their website and its impossible to find it on broadcomms website.
my Wireless card is Broadcomm B/G
Try installing the driver you had on Vista using the device manager.
Right click it. Update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse. Double click on the .inf. Hit ok. Hit next.
Make sure your router is set to 100% radio signal strength. Other than that, I'm not interested in helping you connect to your neighbor's unsecured router(s).
I have the same problem as RSURVE above--my HP Pavillion can't see the wireless card. I have sent this computer off to HP twice before with this problem--first time it came back it still did not work, then the second time (after waiting 4 weeks for HP to return it) it came back working with a note that said they replaced the wireless card. That was in early December, and the thing failed again yesterday, exactly the same symptoms as before. How do you turn on the wireless card in the BIOS? I would like to try that before a BIOS renewal.
Thanks--I can't bear the thought of another 6-8 hours working my way thru the HP call center.
Since my first post I found this HP site that shows the problem to be widespread and unresolved. I think I will just get a USB wireless and be done with it.

Have you tried to update the BIOS yet? If not, that would be a good place to start. You can also try pulling the battery out while having the laptop plugged in and see if you get the same results.
