I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

The graphics cards wil fit in your motherboard as you have a 2.0 16x PCIe slot and from what I can see your case can fit a dual slot card (as far as card slots on the back go) but I cannot find any details regarding the length from the card slots to the (hard drive cages?) edge of the case. The best way would be if you could measure the length from the card slots to the hard drive cages / edge of the case, then we can recommend an appropriately sized card and a new PSU based on the recommended card.

But before I purchase it I would like to know it it?s possible to be used on the PC?s console.I?m assuming I?d have to upgrade the power supply and maybe the mother board too. Please let me know in regard of the 9800GT what PS and mother board should I purchase, if needed, that would fit the console. I have Pavilion p7-1154. Thank you and best regards

Just curious but on the site it says that i can download the NVidia graphics software but i can't complete it unless i have an actual Nvidid graphics card installed on my computer. Is it possible for me to upgrade the card. I have the Intel HD Graphics card and i want to switch it out for the Nvidia without any problems.

A:upgrading graphic card

Hi: In order to add the nvidia graphics adapter, you would have to change out the entire motherboard with the one that has the Intel/Nvidia switchable graphics. This would be a very labor intensive and costly project to undertake.

I have a ATI Radeon X300 PCI Express 1.0 card and was wondering what ATI card would be suitable and will fit in a Dell Dimension 5150 case. I want to upgrade as I'm hoping to get my old Pentium 4 computer up to a state to where it is good enough for games that still do require a Pentium 4 processor to work as I'm finding that whilst it can handle games, sometimes it struggles to work with others.

A:Upgrading Graphic card help

you wouldnt have to change anything, it would work fine.

the main question is your powersupply, what wattage is it rated to? I think the gtx 760 recommends a 500w or above, but different card makers quote differences.

the weakest link in your pc will become your cpu which will bottleneck the system, but youll still be fine playing games, maybe not at their maximum settings.

oo.. ill like suggest a GF9600GT just for the fun of it. =)

but seriously, guessing your MB only has a AGP slot, so your choices are pretty much limited. you can try the HD2600XT or the nvidia 7-series. but they cost about $100 or so? not really worth it when you compare them to the pcie cards.

RAM:1.5GB ddr1
graphics:On board intel 82865G graphics adapter
PSU :450 Watt

now i want to install a new graphics card in my AGP slot and my question is :

Can my pc handle a 1GB graphic card or i should stick to a 512Mb one.

thank you in advance

A:problem upgrading the graphic card

Can you buy a 1GB AGP graphics card at the moment? They seem to be scarce (in the USA) at the moment.

If you can get one, the only harm that I foresee is a slightly higher cost than a 512MB model.

A:Upgrading Graphic card for HP h8-1010it

The HP h8-1010it motherboard with it's WIN 7 is a Legacy BIOS.  The answer your seeking is the MSI 750Ti card, which you already know has the UEFI - Legacy switch.  Your PSU is adequate for the GT545 or the GTX 750Ti.  Call MSI concerning your desires on the R7 or R9 series, and ask which specific card is UEFI - Legacy (Hybrid) card.  Be aware that you'll need a new PSU, as these cards need more Wattage.

I am in the process of upgrading the graphics card on my HP z400 works station.  The computer original had a Nivdia Quadro 4000 graphic card, 2GB, however, this is presently proving to be a bottle neck when carrying out renderings.  In view of this I am considering purchasing an Nvidia GTX 1080 8 GB graphics card.  However, I am not sure that this is compatable with my mother board.  I have read that PCI 3 cards are compatible with PCI 2 mounts, given that this is a costly upgrade I do not want to get it wrong. Can anyone tell me whether the HP z400 workstation can run a Nvidia GTX 1080 8GB graphics card with no loss in performance. Many thanks

What are your system specs currently, and ... are you planning to upp graphics card on a laptop?

For an advance indication, before you provide your sys specs, you can check PSU req for any Nvidia Videocard on their website: www.nvidia.com

Motherboard-wise, we'll need to know what you have already; what kind of laptop mobo do you have?

A:Upgrading Graphic Card SIMPLE HELP NEEDED

First of all, we have no idea what we are working on; post your exact system specs; ie make and model of mb, exact pw supply installed, etc.

Next here is how to properly install a new video card;
1 Uninstall ALL software related to the card using control panel; ie driver, any editing software, any control app, etc
2 When prompted to reboot, do not. Just shutdown the system and pull out your old card
3 Install new card and pw ON the system. Do not use any supplied CD. Go to the amd/ati site and download the latest driver for your card. Install the driver and reboot when prompted. Note you can download the driver prior to removing the old card; just do not attempt an install until your new card is installed.

Note for ati cards, I never install all of the stuff that comes on a CD. I install just the driver files downloaded from ati. IMO the CCC is problematic at best and often causes problems.

I would recommend a gtx 460 or an amd 6790. Both run right around $150. For only 150 you aren't going to get anything near max settings. Also you have to upgrade your psu. The recommended amount is at the very minimum 300w for a low end graphics card. You ideally need a mid-high end gpu, but you can't get all that much better performance in your price range. You should be looking for a decent 450-550w PSU. Corsair is a good brand.

Hello, so I was wondering about upgrading my laptop's dedicated graphic card since it has dual graphics. The integrated one being an AMD R6 Carrizo, and the dedicated one being an R7 M360X. I've searched about it, but I haven't really found a clear answer. I do know that it isn't possible to upgrade an integrated card, and that there are cases in which it is possible to upgrade a laptop's card. So back to the question, can I upgrade my laptop's dedicated card? The model is an HP pavilion ab012la.

A:new graphic card for my old computer

Hello and welcome to the forum maxt!

A quick google search revealed that your motherboard has an AGP 4x slot which has been superseded by PCI-Express and is very outdated...

You may be able to purchase a low profile new-ish card that has uses AGP that supports Windows 7, but chances are your PSU may not be strong enough to support it given its age..

In case you're interested, a selection of video cards that may be supported by system and is Windows 7 compatible is available here:-

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=AGP%204X%2f8X

Speaking of system specs, can you fill in the rest of your specs (including PSU) by following this tutorial?

A:Add an graphic card to my computer

The GeForce website says the GTX 650 needs a minimum of a 400W PSU (power supply) so I think you would be just about fine, but I would always recommend a larger PSU than that as that PSU will be pushing it in terms of the power needed and what you have available.

Can the graphic card be upgraded, and do you have and suggestions? (Gamer-wise) I don't really know anything about graphic cards.

A:Can my computer's graphic card be upgraded?

From the specs I see, even with a better Video Card, this would not be much of a gamer. However if the Motherboard has a PCIE slot then yes you can upgrade the Video Card, but you would also need to replace the stock Power Supply to handle the added load of the new video card.

Hey,

My XpertVision 7900GS graphic card went dead on me a few backs ago so I sent it for RMA and they upgraded it with a Palit 9600GT.. I think it's a refurbished one but nevermind anyways.. However, It's not working with my computer.. Can anyone help me on this ? My computer won't boot up and gives beeping sounds when i installed the graphic card.

I've already tried this graphic card on my friend's computer to see if the problem is with it but it worked on his. So I'm guessing It's either my PSU or Motherboard.. But then again I read online somewhere that someone is using 400w and it's working for him. I'm using 430w ..

Below are details to my PSU, Motherboard and the Graphic card.

I have an old computer i upgraded it from windows xp too Windows 7 Ultimate 32Bit. It says my graphics isnt compatible with windows 7, and my screen look pretty big. So I need any recomendations on what kind of graphics card i should get.

Motherboard: PC Chips M870 V2.0
Graphics car i have: Nvidia standard VGA graphics adapter
DDR 128MB 64Bit

A:Graphic Card Compatible With Windows 7 Old Computer!

You'll need to beef up the GFX card and increase the amount of RAM installed

FYI - that mobo has an AGP 8X slot for GFX purposes..

PS: there's a manual available for download here:
PCCHIPS Web Site

it will tell you what the board's specs are, and what type of upgrades you can
make in terms of GFX and RAM - you'll need to ensure that you install stuff that's
compatible with the motherboard's design - so read carefully..

Here's a list of requirements in order to get Windows 7 running smoothly:

It could run any graphic card, since you have 1 x PCI-E (x16) slot, but you might want to upgrade the PSU to work with the card. But since the CPU is AMD i would recommend an ATI card.

Bought a new a new Sapphire AMD/ATI Radeon HD 6570 1 GB DDR3 Graphics Card and installed it into my pc. Also changed my PSU FROM 350W TO 450W. Installed the latest drivers.

Now, the problem started with BSOD first. Right after 15 minutes of starting up my pc, BSOD appears. Later I uninstalled the drivers for the card and installed it again, now the computer totally freezes. This happens while playing games, or while hearing music or browsing net.

Any solution to this?

I have my eye on this card here. I have put my computer specs in my profile so you could view them with ease and you can see the computer I have here (except my power supply is now 600w and I have a GeForce GT 240, again which can be found down where I have put my specs). I also want to upgrade my 8gb ram to 16 gb, so i plan to replace one stick of RAM with this.

So, will that graphic card work with my computer? Will there be conflicts?

A:I need help determining if this graphic card will work on my computer.

Hello Delta,

8 to 16 by replacing one stick does not compute.
8 is more than enough for 7 btw unless you suddenly become a developer and won't improve system speed at all unless you get faster memory (all same sticks) and motherboard supports it.

You have a PSU that can handle higher tiered cards, let alone that baby 630.

Windows 7 handles IRQs and such differently, so conflict, not likely assuming replacing the 240.

I suggest you confirm the PCIe 16 slot version on that motherboard BEFORE buying anything, compatibility issue.
If it's v2.0 or higher you are fine, ugly if it's 1.x

Alright, I have 9600GT 1GB Graphic card which I bought in 2008 but now giving me issues. It caused PC to shutdown randomly or freeze while taking some memory usage action (opening software, playing game etc). Unaware of problem, I gave my whole PC to computer engineer and he tested and found that my PC is working fine without GFX card inserted and if we do insert it corrupts the motherboard (Asus M4N68T-M V2). He replaced motherboard many times but every time GFX card was inserted it damages motherboard. So now I am using PC with another replaced motherboard but without installing graphic card this time and it is working fine and he says it is difficult to repair it. So there is no solution and I have to buy another graphic card now? I'm dying to play games.

Kindly Help. Thanks!

A:Graphic Card causing computer to shutdown randomly.

Hard to know for sure. Not knocking your computer engineer, but what number of watts has your PSU? The problem could have been caused over the long term due to an underpowered PSU supplying an insufficient amount of power to the card. The 9600GT requires a minimum of 400 Watts.

Try completely uninstalling the graphics driver. Run CCleaner to fix any registry errors. Also try reseating the card.

Hi My current system is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ 2.50 Ghz, 4G of RAM, and an MSI N240GT 1GB GDDR5 video card. I can't run WoW with any of the settings to high.

The system i'm considering is an AMD Phenom II X6 1045 with a Radeon 5450 1GB.

So my question is will my 240GT be able to run WoW on high with that system, or do I need to upgrade to the 5670 (+$50) or the 5770 (+$130) ?

Thanks,

A:Upgrading computer, need video card advice

you will not get high fps with the 5450 or the 240 gt they are budget cheap cards , if you want high gaming spec its the 5770 which will be capable for a long long time, its bandwith is nearly double for starters but you will need good psu 600w min high efficency or 800w

Hey all,

So I would like to get some opinions. I'm thinking of getting a new PSU and Graphics card but I'm not sure if it's even worth it. My computer is about 2 and half years old. It's a Cyberpower brand. Here are the specs:

Computer type: PC/Desktop
System Manufacturer/Model Number: Cyberpower
OS: Windows 7
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte Technology M68MT-S2 x64-based PC
Memory: 8gb DDR3
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520
PSU: 350 Watts

I want to do some casual gaming so I was looking to get a new video card, which would also require me to get a new PSU.

Do you guys think I should? Or not risk it on this older machine?

Thanks!

A:Is my computer worth upgrading the video card?

The CPU and RAM are ok for some casual gaming. I would invest in a better motherboard, perhaps one of the gigabyte 9## series, a 650watt psu, modular if you can afford it, a SSD drive and perhaps a video card like a GTX 660 TI to save some money yet have a good enough card to play on higher settings. If you have any money left over, perhaps a custom case so you can always upgrade further down the line ( space wise ).

Hi there,
It would help to know what resolution you wish to game at, level of detail you would expect, types of games etc. short of that, I would recommend a complete new build just because of the Sempron. besides being a single core CPU, it is one of the least capable CPU's on the food chain, as well as being rather dated now. If you can provide the details listed above, and a budget, one or more of us will be glad to help with budget/use appropriate build suggestions.

I need help I don't know what do to do.

A:Upgrading computer( no signal after switching graphics card)

I'd start by removing the sand box from the computer, that's way too dirty to allow the computer to run properly. That heat sink is filthy and will cause the CPU to overheat and throttle down performance or even shut down. A can of compressed air will fix that.

Aside from that you don't have the 4 power connector for the CPU and that absolutely needs to be connected.

The video card may also have power connectors near the back that need to be connected.

Sure

I dont see why the Card Wont work. The only problem witht the whole rig might be the PSU connection. You may have trouble upgrding it, you may not, depends on the model (and i really could tel ya) I would just look at the connections to see if it is the standard 20 or 24 pin. If it is...then i dont see a problem.

Good Luck

I've managed to upgrade some of my home PC's from Win or Win to Wn without any significant problems but I am having major difficulty upgrading one of my PC's It is running Win Home -bit and when I originally ran the Windows upgrade advisor it indicated that I could not upgrade as my NVidia GEForce graphics card was incompatible with Windows I tried various workarounds using suggestions on this and other sites to upgrade with the GEForce card but none were successful So I purchased and to 10 upgrading card graphics Win after Upgrading - incompatible installed a new graphics card - an AMD Radeon R which should be Win compatible Upgrading to Win 10 - after upgrading incompatible graphics card I then re-ran the Win upgrade advisor - it still said that I couldn't upgrade as the quot GeForce card quot was incompatible - even though it was no longer installed I checked the Upgrading to Win 10 - after upgrading incompatible graphics card Device Manager and the graphics card was clearly showing as being the AMD card I then explicitly uninstalled any NVidia drivers software using the Control Panel Program uninstall - still unable to upgrade to Win I also ran the Wagnard tools quot Display driver uninstaller quot and removed any NVidia software drivers - still unable to upgrade I am using the latest drivers from the AMD website I also tried to upgrade using the Media Creation tool and a Win image from DVD previously this also failed to work and gave the incompatible graphics card error this seemed to work up to a point but after a reboot it wanted me to select a keyboard layout but neither my usb keyboard nor mouse would function and the installation froze On rebooting the OS reverted to Win and the keyboard mouse worked ok I want to upgarde to Win rather than do a fresh install but am now unsure what to do - I keep getting the quot Incompatible GEForce graphics card quot message anytime I run the Win advisor tool even after downloading it again from the MS website Any suggestions as to how I can resolve this issue and finally upgrade

Unless the laptop has onboard graphics, there is no reason why the card can't be changed.

Of course, I am not very knowledgeable with GFX cards, so I can't necessarily tell whether is has onboard graphics or not.

A:video card/graphic card reboot problem

boynamedanurag Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about booting and video card problems and wanted to help. So, if I understand what you're saying, you reinstalled Win7 and the PC boots OK, right? But when you then install a video driver and reboot, it does not boot, right? My guess is that you have one of the old DV6 laptops that has two video chipsets, something called Switchable Graphics.  And the problem with that is that only the HP OEM video drivers will work on that laptop.  IF you install other ones, such as the ones you get from AMD or Nvidia, they will NOT work -- which sounds like what is happening to you. What DOES work is restoring your PC using HP Recovery Media because that will contain the HP OEM drivers.  Media. This is a set of DVDs and a CD, or USB stick, that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, settings, and applications, reinstall the original OS, drivers, and some HP Utilities. In some cases, you may be able to order a USB stick instead of disks.  You have to order these from HP; they can not be downloaded. You can look online for Recovery Media starting with the linked paged: http://support.hp.com/us-en/driversOnce there, input your Product name or number. On your Software and Drivers Download page, select your Operating System and and Version. Click "Update".  If HP Recovery Media is available for your machine, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for Order Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click the "+" symbol to expand that entty and click on Order Media for details.Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:If you live in the US or Canada, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1If you live elsewhere, contact information is on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.htmlNOTE: After you get through, stay on the line until you are finally able to talk to some one -- it can take a while! Good Luck========================================================================I am a volunteer and I do not work for, nor do I represent, HP.---------------------------------------------------------------If my posts helped you, please click the Thumbs-Up symbol to say thanks. If my posts solved your problem please click "Accept As Solution".========================================================================

Okay, basically I've this computer, with card Geforce GT220. Its been working fine, till one day there's no image in the monitor when I switched on the computer. I opened up the case, everythings plugged in correctly, nothing came loose.

I then switched the cable to the onboard GPU of the computer, and the computer is working fine (of course except that it is without the Geforce GT220).. So I thought it must have been the Geforce GT220 problem.

I then plugged the Geforce GT220 onto another computer, and to my surprise, that computer actually worked and the GT220 is actually working fine.

So now what's the likely problem? Any info you guys may need? Appreciate any help over here.

A:What is the diffret in a video card / graphic card?

A video card and a graphic(s) card are the same thing. What you have now is an integrated graphics card. Integrated graphics cards have terrible performance. Now, we need to know whether your motherboard has a PCI-E or AGP slot. Download CPU-Z , take screenshots of the tabs called "CPU" and "Mainboard" and post them here.

They should look something like this (the information and logo will be different):

A:improvement of graphic card (video card)

serzh_shumkov Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!I read your post about wanting to upgrade the graphics on your laptop and wanted to help. Sorry for the bad news, but you are operating under a misunderstanding.  Unlike desktop PCs, laptops do not use video "cards"; instead, they use video chips that are permanently attached to either video modules, or to the laptop system board.  These are not customer-replaceable parts.

I have ProLiant ML110 G6  I've bought Sapphire Radeon R7 250 2GB GDDR5 card. Before I buy, I've checked compatibility of my PCIe v2 x16 slot with PCIe v3 x16 card. I'ts compatible backwards so I can use v3 card in my v2 slot i MB. But When I was trying to install it I've noticed that on MB is inprinted PCIe x16 45W (I attached photo below).  So can I use this card - in specification is given that consumption of this card is 70W. Can undervoltage break my G card? Maybe I should ure Riser with extra molex pin? x16 slot gives 45W and molex can give 35W = total 80W. What you think

Are these the same thing? I have an old Dell (as you can see), but I like it. I was told that I could improve its performance by adding a video card. When I look them up, I see pictures of odd-looking devices that in no way resemble a "card." I can only find 2 that will work with this computer. Does that seem right?

A:Video card vs graphic card?

"Video Card" and "Graphics Card" are the same thing.

There are 4 different versions of the 745. A "minitower", a desktop, a Small Form Factor and an ultra small form factor. Which one do you have? It makes a difference for a video (graphics) card.

The minitower will take a PCIe type video card. With the small power supply that can limit you (if this is the model you have). The others versions are even further restrictive as they will require "low profile" type cards.

Go into Device Manager and uninstall all drivers for your card. Then try installing the drivers you downloaded. Do not restart your computer in the process, because then Windows will automatically install what it thinks are the best drivers.

My motherboard is a Asrock H55M Pro and I have a Intel core i3-540 with a 780watt power supplyand 8GB of 1333MHz RAM. Will it work. Also I have two monitors currently running off vga and dvi on the graphic card I have now which is a radeon 5450. But since there is no vga on the 6790 I will have to run of the two dvi, not a problem but one is single link and one is dual link, don't know if this makes a differance.

Thanks for your help

A:Graphic card help

It should work with your system, you have a PCI-Express 2.0 slot and a power supply of more than enough wattage, hopefully its a quality brand.

You can use a DVI to VGA adapter for the VGA monitor, many video cards include it in the package. Or if the monitor also has a DVI port you can switch it to that, being single or dual link won't matter.

If you go for the card get ready to be able to play those at max resolution and max settings (or most of them at max), instead of a low resolution and low settings.

I have a little bit older graphic card,Leadtek PX8600GTS so if anyone could suggest me which new Graphic card should I buy and when should I buy it.I am from Croatia so if you could recommend me a GC and I will check it out.i wanna buy a GC that is a best combination of price and performance.I am troubling for a long time about that,so i would be gratefull if someone could help me.i suppose that the best graphic card to buy is the one that has DX11...and btw it does not have to be in sale yet

A:New Graphic Card!HELP!!!

what games do you play? what resolution is your monitor? and how much money do you want to spend?

if you want to go down the amd/ati road, have a look at either an ati hd4850 or hd4890 - they should be cheaper now that the hd5870 is out.

i'm sure other members can recommend a well-priced hi-performance nvidia card if we wait a bit...

It all depends on your needs:

A great mid-level card if the ATI Radeon 9200SE. It comes in 64 or 128MB flavors, works well with Windows, and is pretty good at game support (I play a lot of SoF2 and Madden 2004, and both look great. I also used it with RtCW with no issues.)

A higher-end gamer's card would be something like the ATI Radeon 9800XT or the nVidia FX5950. Very robust cards, but they carry a price.

If you're into 3D rendering (Pixar type stuff), then look at the ATI FireGL X1 (128MB) or X2 (256MB). Big $$$ here.

First, Hello.

Ive got a damn and big problem, Ive got my Old PC, and bought a new one.
New One Spec's CPUent T4400 VGA: Intel Int. GMA 4500M. Display : 15.5 HD/LED BL HD 500G, Memory 4GB. Operating system > Windows XP.
Old one is all I know has Ati Mobility Radeon X2300, AMD Athlon 64X2, Dual core processor TK=55. 1,79 GHZ 2GB Ram. OS Windows XP.

I should of run games ALOT better with the new one, but I deem to fail at it, cause ex. I run Prototype with the old one a lot better, but guess me, with the new one I lag more.

What the hell could be the problem? Is that card? Do I require any Drivers for intel ? Could someone help me with this? Any suggestion how to boost performance?

A:About Graphic card.

No, you should run games worse. Integrated Intel graphics are horrible things!
