I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:got the windows 10 free upgrade and used the dell diagnostics tool to upgrade driver and bios everything worked fine until the update of the bios!!!!

I called dell they told me in not so many words my motherboard was Fried and they would not replace it.

Dell just saying it's a "possibility" the motherboard might need to be replace. No one can tell you that motherboard is definite "Fried" without first looking at the system.
What is the system model number and version of windows before upgrading to windows 10? Example: Dell Inspiron 3543, windows 10
You're able to boot into BIOS(F2 key) and diagnostic (F12 key) ?
1. Power off computer
2. Power on computer, quickly start tapping F2 key ( BIOS) or F12 key( BIOS) continuously

Hello, is there any vendor lock in BIOS to M.2 SSDs in X1 Carbon Gen3 notebooks? I've a 20BS003NXS Thinkpad with 512GB SSD which became insufficient. (ThinkPad X1 Carbon 3 i7-5500U(3.0GHz) 8GB 512GB SSD 14.0" WQHD TOUCH) I need to upgrade to 960GB/1TB SSD and my question is - will work any M.2 SSD with correct length of 80mm? E.g. INTEL SSD 540s Series 1TB M.2 22x80mm which (as it seems) is currently the only 1TB M.2 available in my country?

Yesterday I clean-installed Windows Pro x on an old Dell Vostro laptop which had been running Windows Ultimate and it activated and ran fine without even a single exclamation point upgrade Upgrade must - 8 to BIOS failed System 8.1 Windows in Device Manager I applied the update necessary to make the Store offer and proceeded to install it as I've done on a couple other machines After downloading the thing it errored Windows 8 to 8.1 Upgrade failed - must upgrade System BIOS out with Couldn't install Windows Contact your Windows 8 to 8.1 Upgrade failed - must upgrade System BIOS PC manufacturer to see if you can upgrade the System BIOS When I clicked the OK button it then gave me the informative and grammar-challenged error box Something happened and the Windows couldn't be installed Please try again Error code xc Try again Cancel Ever the optimist I clicked Try again and of course it proceeded to download all over again from scratch only to error out in the same way I then downloaded all the Windows updates although just the one had been necessary on my other machines that successfully upgraded to and tried again only to get the same result Today I've discovered the Windows Compatibility Assistant which avoids the lengthy download of the upgrade every time Microsoft maybe you should run it implicitly before downloading GB of transient data and it tells me This PC doesn't meet system requirements Contact your PC manufacturer to see if you can upgrade the System BIOS Obviously no BIOS updates are available and I'm simply wondering if anyone knows what exactly is the problem here with my BIOS The obvious googling turned up nothing except some people with Sony Vaios that had the same problem which was corrected with a BIOS update and of course there is no information on what their BIOS update does to make the upgrade possible

A:Windows 8 to 8.1 Upgrade failed - must upgrade System BIOS

Store upgrade is more hassle than it's worth...Can't see how bios version can prevent the upgrade...

If you can download a full ISO - try that rather.

Hello,

After updating new catalyst 11.12 my screen goes black during the shutdown/restart mode. The computer still runs and I have to hold shutdown button to restart then it'll come up. It only happens when you shutdown/restart. I'm running Win 7 64 bit Home Premium so I'm wondering if there's a windows problem. Any help would be appreciated thank you.

A:ATI 11.12 upgrade fail

sounds like a compatibility issue. Run driver sweep in safe mode and uninstall the current ATI driver and then download and install a previous version.

YOu wont see much benifit from the 11.12 update, its mainly addressing multi gpu setups for scyrim and bf3. not really aimed at laptops.

Office 2007 (medialess oem) SP1 fails to install (all the other updates incl. kb946691 installed fine)
Adobe reader will not install
Autodesk Inventor 2009 SP1 wont install
The common theme seems to corrupt cab files. I've tried having the UAC turned off, it's a brand new machine without any antivirus on it (yet). I've tried to download and install all of these multiple times, I've even downloaded a few of them on a different computer to see if that was the problem.
Does anyone have any clues as to what could be causing these issues?

Try one of two things :

1) IN either the "run" window or "start search" off the Start Menu type in %temp% then press Enter. This will open the Temporary Files folder. Delete all the files present here. Some may fail to delete as an open process is using them. This is normal and fine. Reboot. Retry the update

2) Run "msconfig" in the same manor you ran the other command. Goto the startup tab and click "Disable All", click OK and reboot. Try the update. Once it completes, assuming it does, re-run that command, back to the startup tab and click "Enable All" and reboot.

The Windows upgrade media requires a previous version of windows to be present on the hard drive and activated in order for the installation to proceed Meaning if you need to reinstall win you would first have to reinstall and activate your old os Slightly different topic but totally related If you installed the Vista Upgrade the way Microsoft intended without using the quot special workaround quot the license key for your previous os would become invalid to prevent you from running more than one copy of windows with an upgrade license The Windows Upgrade requires an activated os to be present on the hard drive so Vista s workaround can t be used with win Assuming the win upgrade also invalidates your previous license wouldn Windows 7 Fail? Upgrade = t that mean it s impossible to reinstall win because you can t activate your old os I ve been wanting to ask about this for a long time but I kept putting it off so sorry if this has been answered before nbsp

"select the x64 package"

I'm curious about this statement above, where did you get the installation DVD(s) from, the 32-bit and the 64-bit should be separate DVDs please clarify.

Hi
I upgraded from vista to win7 and it finished the install perfectly but when it restarted to do the settings it said it couldn't and it was going to rollback all changes but instead it just kept rebooting in a loop.. So now I've got all the backup files named "backup files 1.zip" to "backup files 571.zip" which contain all the data from the vista install in 200mb files and i cant unzip 1 and they all get unzipped and any file bigger than 200mb is shared over a few zips and can't be put back together because it just overwrites the previous 1...

A:Vista to Win7 upgrade fail

What OS does it boot-up with now?

I am unfamiliar at this time with an upgrade producing 571 zip files.

Go to your E-mail from Microsoft again, the one titled: Thanks for ordering Windows 8 (order # xxxxxxxxxx).

Click on the word here in this paragraph:

This is your receipt - make sure to print or save a copy for your records.
If you need to download Windows, write down your new product key and enter it here.

That will open the download window as follows:

Make sure you you follow to path to create media for installation at a later date, either DVD or a flash drive so you'll never have to do this again.

That same E-mail has a line near the bottom like this:

To always have the software as physical backup media at hand, order your personal backup DVD now. If your download link is so bad, perhaps that is a better way to get it.

Just upgraded to Win8 Pro last night by wi-fi. Cannot access internet router via ethernet cable. Cannot access wireless either.

Using Network & Internet troubleshooting for Internet Connections, I get:

Problem with wireless adapter or access point Not Fixed X
"Local Area Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration Not Fixed X

If I do a ifconfig, I see that LAN has its media disconnected. But not wireless.

A:Wireless Ethernet Fail after Win 8 Pro Upgrade

can we see the ipconfig /all - see below

you could try a tcp/ip reset - see below

------------------------------------------------------------------------

TCP/IP stack repair options for use with Vista/Windows 7

Start> Programs> Accessories> and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt box
(A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on the screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following commands:

Note: Type only the text in bold and red for the following commands.

Reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: netsh winsock reset catalog and press enter

Reset IPv4 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log and press enter

Reset IPv6 TCP/IP stack to installation defaults. netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log and press enter

ReStart (reboot) the machine.

If you receive the message
The requested operation requires elevation.
Then please open the command prompt as administrator - as requested above
Start> Programs> Accessories> and right click on Command Prompt, select "Run as Administrator" to open a command prompt box
(A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

Please note and post back - if you receive the following message :-
Access is Denied

please post back the results in a reply here - its important we know that these commands have worked correctly and not produced any errors
right click in the command prompt box
select all
enter
control key + C key - to copy
then reply here and
control key + V to paste

Details also here
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357
------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------
ipconfig /all
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post the results in a reply here.
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and paste here.

We would like to see the results from an ipconfig /all - post back the results in a reply here.

This should also work for windows 8
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt box
(A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt

It will export the results into notepad and then automatically open the notepad and display on your screen.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results into a reply here
to do that:
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Select all
all the text will now be highlighted
Next
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Copy

Now go back to the forum - goto the reply and then right click in the reply box and paste the results.
The results from the notepad should now appear in the forum reply.

I tried upgrading my Windows 7 build 7000 x64 to build 7068 x64. Some time into the upgrade and error message appeared saying that a file failed to install and thus the upgrade was unsuccessful. If it is something wrong with my iso image of 7068 please direct me to where I can get a good copy of 7068 via private message or in a reply to this post.

If you guys need the exact error code I can run the install again but I'm not going to if I don't have to.

Intel Core 2 Q6600 @3.0 ghz
EVGA nForce 790i ultra sli
Corsair XMS3 4094MB PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra

EDIT: Solved, just had to run the install from a disc instead of a virtual drive

A:upgrade from 7000 to 7068 FAIL

If you had a working copy of the 7000 on you may have elected to install the 7068 to another drive or partition or simply wipe the 7000 primary to see a clean install of the 7068 build. The upgrading from one build to the next can pose problems especially when trying it with beta versions of an OS.

As far as any leaks you have to run your own web search for the most part along with looking out for "fakes". You are always taking a gamble with any torrent sites to start with. The exact error code provided here would certainly be more usefull since it may be pointing to another problem other then incompatibility issues.

If you manually changed your boot order to boot from the CD/DVD first, you have to switch it back to the hard drive on the first reboot. You only want to boot from the CD/DVD once to start the install.

A:Windows 8.1 to 10 upgrade fail; No boot; avgidsha.sys

Hey...  I was able to access the drive when connected via the USB hard drive cradle on the latest version of Ubuntu.  The older version of Ubuntu only showed the drive but gave me no options to access it.

It appears that the drive might be failing.  I was able to copy the data I wanted.  I was also able to modify the avg system files as directed in the AVG support link provided in my previous post.  However, the system will still not boot.  Now it gets me back to essentially the same place as before but now it balks at file avgboot.sys or something like that.  However, this file was renamed in the earlier step, so I'm not sure what is going on there.

Anyway, I got my data and suspect the drive is failing, so I'm just going to replace the drive and install Windows 10 fresh.

After spend more than 50 Man-Hours on this issue, now I finally solved it out. Here is the way I made it: Go get a copy of Acronis True Image 2016, I was using the edition 19.0.6571, use the disk edition to boot the machine, then select the original disk as source disk, use the newly added SSD as destination disk. Click process, then mess around for a while till it shows up "finish". Remove the external disk drive, the original HDD, leave the SSD inside. Start up, and everything you need is there. And, for unknown reason, once you finish all above, then press F11 during system boot, the R&R works perfect. PS.I didn't try the R&R disk at this moment, probably it still won't works. Anyway, thanks to the amazing Acronis True Image, now the issue has been solved. Cheers!

I'm trying to apply SP2 to my sister's XP desktop system - that had been loaded with spyware and viruses that I removed with spybot and avg - but as soon as the CD content extraction completes, I get a fatal stop - saying File Not found. I chose to try the SP2 disk because the regular Microsoft site Windows Update failed as well (didn't even do the system scan - just said can't do it). Is there some way around this mess without reloading the operating system ? (Of course, she can't find her WinXP CD!).

I've been trying to upgrade to Windows 10 for a while now, but I keep getting the error code 8004100E. Windows update seems to think it is downloading fine, but when it restarts in order to configure the windows 10 update, it just boots windows 7 as normal.

I've tried deleting everything in the softwaredistribution downloads folder, but that doesn't seem to help.
I've also tried using the windows 10 media creation tool to download it and create an iso, but this also fails.

I've noticed that when windows update thinks that the upgrade has downloaded and ready to be installed that there is only about 450mb in the downloads folder of C:windows/softwaredistribution where I figure it should be closer to 3GB.

Thanks in advance for the help!

IF it still fails to install you may need to run the microsoft windows installer cleanup utility.

I bought a cheap Acer Aspire computer from Wally World that has Windows on it I had to have something for internet access while I was rebuilding an XP box I figured that I'd do the free Windows upgrade on the Acer upgrade win8.1 win10 fail updates, completing insists which on once I had everything working on the XP box I have tried different ways of doing the Win upgrade and all spend HOURS downloading Win and then insist on checking for Win updates and installing them before upgrading to Win again win10 upgrade insists on completing win8.1 updates, which fail taking HOURS in the process In all cases many hours are spent downloading all the updates and then the updates start installing The progress bar gets to then a restart occurs Then I'm told that the updates are being worked on and the progress bar gets to every time Then I'm told that the updates have failed and many hours are spent putting everything back the way it was I ran sfc scannow which failed to repair dozen files My only saving grace is that I bought a spare G hard drive and used MacriumReflect to clone the original drive from Wally World over on to it so that at any time I can repeat that process to get my original drive back onto the cloned over drive Obviously I don't actually touch anything on the original drive except having put Avast AV on it win10 upgrade insists on completing win8.1 updates, which fail plus Firefox and MacriumReflect and using the McAfee uninstaller which I did before the first cloning I need to do an upgrade because the UEFI contents on this drive are uniquely matched to the mother board I don't think that a scratch win10 upgrade insists on completing win8.1 updates, which fail install of WIN will have all the drivers proprietary files etc that this motherboard is going to look for By the way while I'm trying to do all this the only things connected to the computer are a cable connection to the router a monitor a USB mouse and a USB keyboard I also turn off file and network protection in Avast indefinately since it's taking so many hours for all the shenanigans that Windows insists on doing Does anyone have any suggestions on how to install the Win updates I could take the time to install them one at a time but I can't find an inclusive list that tells what order to do them in A lot of them are security updates for Windows and the various NET frameworks from to Thanks

A:win10 upgrade insists on completing win8.1 updates, which fail

Personally, because you have a backup drive, I would clean install Windows 10 to the new drive. You can download the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool . You can pull the key with produkey and use it during the Windows 10 install.

You most likely will not need many drivers after the install. If you do then check your Aspire's website for Windows 10 specific drivers.

What is the model number of the Aspire?

Hi I tried to upgrade my existing Vista with an upgrade so I could keep my existing programs and files The reinstall was progressing ok and then I got a blank screen for an hour or so assuming the reinstall was complete I turned the computer off but alas this wasn t the case Now everytime I boot up I get the windows install failed message and to restart and reinstall Of course this process just loops but if I load the installation CD from boot I only have the option to reinstall a clean version ie loosing all my programmes and data Is there a of drive! not Vista trying upgrade hard delete to fail contents way I Vista upgrade fail trying to not delete contents of hard drive! can either roll back the reinstall access my HDD so I can move all the data to an external HD before doing a clean install or access the upgrade install option this is ghosted out during the boot from CD stating I need to do this through windows which I obviously can t The reason for the upgrade was that a the computer was getting really slow and b I couldn t install most applications due to a side by side configuration error message and thought this was due to a manual registry deleting effort on my behalf trying to remove traces of a prorgramme I was trying to reinstall that was having problems Help many thanks ps I have a Dell XPS laptop nbsp

A:Vista upgrade fail trying to not delete contents of hard drive!

I've had a problem with the recent Oct 15th Security updates, causing my Dell to hardware reset & reboot after screen goes blank, on 3rd stage of configuring updates. It is the IE8 Cumulative security patch responsible on my machine, tried updating video driver to latest etc.

The (temporary) Solution for me was to boot with the Dell Vista DVD, and use System Restore to rollback to the last checkpoint before the update, found in the System Repair options.

Computer failed during upgrade of bios. I have followed all the steps to recover bios: taken out battery, pressed windows + B + power, restore screen appears. Computer goes thru bios restore process and verification. When it gets to the 'count down to windows start up' and 'continue to restart button', the computer freezes and does not restart. I have pressed the continue button, nothing. I have let the count down continue and it stops at 1 then nothing.

I have posted a few questions regarding getting samsung 950 pro (NVME M.2 ssd) to be recognized quickly on boot by ENVY 750-170SE cto rom family id #2b4b and it hasn't been resolved.  I am pretty sure that HP will need to create a newer bios than the a.08 version that i have or the lower versioned number a.07 which is available from HP's website (even though it has a newer date than a.08 (this is really strange))  -  How do i go about getting HP to release a beta or final bios that shortens my boot time by 3 minutes?  Am i posting in the wrong area, if so where do i post?  I am not alone with this problem.  see SpearfishX post #21 - and i am unable to post in this forum, it needs to be reopened and addressed - http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Envy-750se-capable-of-M-2-NVMe-u...

A:Bios Upgrade on HP Envy 750-170se CTO bios family 2b4b

@FrozenGamer? If your PC takes 3 minutes to boot in a factory condition then you should contact HP support. If your PC is less than 21 days old then quickly return it.  Without any modifications, your PC should be booting up in less than 30 seconds. I haven't seen any official HP posted information that supports NVMe m.2 SSDs.  Run the HP Support Assistant and see if it picks up a later BIOS update. HP's support number is 800-474-6836 or 800-HPINVENT or online here.

I updated the bios after I had notified from Toshiba about the Bios v3.50. The process was done by the Toshiba Utility software, and after the reboot there is "Password =" on a blank screen and it not recognise my BIOS password, writing "Not certified".

I have also tried the HDD password but no luck.

What can I do now?

A:Satellite Z30-A-12R BIOS password not recognised after BIOS upgrade

Hi

Before trying to update the BIOS, all passwords should be removed!
BIOS password can be removed by authorized service provider available in your country.

But the unknown HDD password cannot be removed anymore.
In such case the HDD isn?t accessible and cannot be used.

Sorry mate but in my opinion you have only one chance to get the BIOS password removed; you need the ASP assistance.

hi there, i am fixing a friends old computer and the hdd was stuffed so i got a new maxtor diamondmax 9 for it. although once installing it i found out that it would only run in udma2 mode (checked it in another computer and it ran at full udma6)
so i suspect that the current bios cannot support udma5 or 6, so i am looking for a bios upgrade for it.
the bios string is 6A69RPRDC-00, the number on the actual motherboard is 35-C960-00-05
thanks for any help, i am really hoping i can make this board work at udma5 at least and not have to settle for udma2.
thanks again

WOW..............

Old Machines.....(just like me... but can still perform to the max lol)

I your Bios has the option of udma up to 6 then generally the bios supports the Mode! and your problem is that the HDD does not support the mode (cant remember if you said it does).

You are probably using wrong criteria for bios upgrade search.
Try WWW.driverguide,com

You Need the MB's Manufacturers Name or at least the MB Chipset and bios Manufacturers Name as well. go to the Computers muanufacturers website (you probably done that already) and search model.

otherwise Download a System info utility from Tech Spot, I use SiSoft Sandra or AIDA32.. (sandra might cause bluescreen on older machines).. Aida problably will have link direct to bios update site. hope this was of some help

A:Dell Inspiron 518 BIOS v1.0.7 64 Bit Vista DO NOT UPGRADE BIOS

No it happened to me too.  Dell is replacing the motherboard under warranty but I was told somewhat firmly not to update the BIOS unless advised by a technican.  In my defense the BIOS update was listed as "recommended" under the download section for this unit on the Dell support website.
I would recommend to avoid two phone calls (over 40 minutes each) to tech support and several days waiting for a new motherboard, not to update the BIOS at this time.
Thankfully it is being covered under warranty.

Dear All I have a question regarding BIOS upgrades as well as downgrades First about downgrading BIOS is it a safe thing to do If not then what makes it not safe I have Dell Inspiron M with the latest BIOS A Not happy with this one due to high pitch sounds coming from of upgrade down know BIOS Is safe? do downgrading if How of BIOS successful is or you the top right hand corner of the laptop It s been suggested that I downgrade only a couple of revisions back namely to either A or A However Ive been getting conflicting reports about the Is downgrading of BIOS safe? How do you know if down or upgrade of BIOS is successful safety of downgrading from Dell Tech Support Some say that it s not done at all others say that as long as it s only to downgrade back to a couple of previous versions then risks are not as high as going all the way back to a really early version such as A etc The risks I m told is in the performance Is downgrading of BIOS safe? How do you know if down or upgrade of BIOS is successful of hard disks Apparently if you downgrade to a really early version such as A then problems will arise though I m not sure what the exact problems are Moreover there are those who say that there is no procedure for downgrading Is downgrading of BIOS safe? How do you know if down or upgrade of BIOS is successful and that it is never suggested to anyone to downgrade their BIOS The notion that it becomes riskier as you downgrade back to a really early version of BIOS such as A baffles me because in my case prior to doing any kind of updating for BIOS on my laptop I had version A and have not had any kind of improvements enhancements done to my computer whatsoever in other words my computer is the same as when I got it last year in terms of hardware In terms of software I have not changed my OS of Windows XP home edition with SP I only added iTunes Firefox Thunderbird plus software for a corded keyboard Therefore the claim that reverting to a really early version of BIOS such as A would pose a greater risk than reverting back to A or A does not make sense for my computer worked fine with A and I have not changed any of my hardware My reason for upgrading is because Dell Support software popped up in the bottom right hand corner saying I needed to upgrade my BIOS to A so I did that then discovered after that there was a critical update of A which I installed as well and which I have currently Another question I have is this how do you know for sure that an upgrade or downgrade was successful Although I have yet to do any downgrading when I updated my BIOS to A then to A the download for these two files went fine I did not get any error messages Even after I flashed the BIOS with A and A I got a message saying that the update was successful However is it possible that even with a message saying that an update was successful that there may be some glitch and that the BIOS was NOT updated properly I ask such a question because ever since upgrading to A I ve been getting a high pitched sound from the top right hand corner of my laptop The noise is not consistent in a sense that it was always present just after updating to A but now it is only present when I first power the computer on after it s been shut off completely and when I put into Standby then come out of it the noise always disappears Thank you for your time and any help you can provide me with Sincerely Lavender PS I would also like to add that with all the Tech Support I spoke to at Dell except for one guy they were all very hesitant if not down right against downgrading What makes downgrading so dangerous risky As I understand it upgrading or downgrading BIOS is about erasing the previous version of BIOS and installing another version If that is the case then the process for downgrading and upgrading would be the same for flash BIOS would it not If so why is upgrading OK to do but downgrading is something not done and is considered quot forced quot Isn t upgrading quot forced... Kanislupus posted last week about P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 & updating the BIOS

I have this motherboard & I thought 3603 was the last update----
shows how long ago I looked---
so I went to ASUS & checked---

so I found out there is 2 new Bios upgrades---
bios 3703 with release date of 11/17/2014
which crashed for Kanislupus
& a new one--
bios 3802 with a release date of 04/03/2015.
so instead of just ASUS saying 3703 is buggy---
they just went ahead & released a new BIOS------
I would have tried to flash to bios 3802 for Kanislupus but I think he tore
his system apart-----
bios 3802 says RTC fix
bios 3603 seems to be running fine----why bios 3703 would effect
the real time clock I'm not sure of--would have to ask ASUS
almost forgot--I'm running windows 7 64bit---
some food for people to think about--

A:P8Z68-V Pro/Gen3 bios update

It's possible the RTC problem was there before 3703 was released, but not fixed until 3802 appeared.

hello,

We recently upgraded our servers from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010. One of major issues is the syncing of mail on our Droid phones. Many of use the Touchdown email client. The older Touchdown clients failed and once upgraded to the latest version, it works fine. However the native email client on android OS is not working at all. I have tried unchecking "use a secured connection" and unchecking "verify certificates" Also since we carry many different models of Droids, different OS's don't seem to make a difference either.

Anyone on exchange 2010 ever encounter any issues with Android.

A:Exchange 2010 Upgrade Caused Native Droid Email Client To Fail

I had some issues when we switched over. I was just using the native andriod client as opposed to Touchdown. I would check some of the android forums and just search for outlook. there were several threads on those boards and something i found there ended up correcting my issue. sorry don't have my droid anymore and can't recall the settings.

Hello all,
I did something very stupid recently. I flashed my BIOS to fix mouse stuttering issues but used the Gen4 BIOS version 2.10. I was able to clear the CMOS and use the instant flash to restore the BIOS back the most recent Gen3 BIOS 1.10.

When I start the computer it shows the BIOS version is 1.10, but all of my SATA ports show as "not detected". I changed the SATA controller settings back to their defaults (IDE), but still no luck. I checked and all of the SATA connectors are still clicked firmly in place.

Any ideas?Thanks

A:Asrock Extreme 4 Gen3 BIOS Problems

I am not familiar with asrock boards. When you say you used the instant flash to restore the bios did you actually flash the bios with the original bios file or is this some type of auto recovery?

If you are able to flash the bios, I would reflash to the latest correct bios for your mb. Once done, restart and enter the bios. Load defaults or whatever asrock calls it and again restart. Enter the bios and make any custom settings you need ie sata mode, boot order, etc.

I updated my motherboard from bios version 0402 to 3703 since I was updating my video card in the next week. Once the update was complete the reboot looped from the system check to the Asus logo over and over. I've tried to reset the board by jumper and battery removal, but all that does is reset the system clock. The bios remains the same. What have I done?

The only thing I can do is hit the 'del' and get to the bios, where I still see the Hard drives but for whatever reason it won't boot to them.

Is it possible to roll the bios back to the 0402? Is there a fix at all? Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you are having some problem, don't flash the BIOS. If your Dell doesn't recognize all the memory, you might have to. As long as you installed the recommended memory, you shouldn't have a problem.

A:Should I upgrade my BIOS?

The BIOS should not be updated unless the update addresses a specific problem you are having. If the update fails, which can happen even if you do everything right, your system may be unbootable. Recovery from that often requires physical replacement of the BIOS chip.

after turning off computer for a few hrs. when we turn on it goes to black screen. Turn it off and then back on and all boots ok. We have checked drivers for upgrades and now wonder if it is the BIOS that needs upgrading. How do we check this? Is remote assistance available for this? Microsoft checked out machine and they referrred us to HP due to BIOS concern.

A:Upgrade Bios

RGalvin, welcome to the forum. There is no BIOS update available for your motherboard.  Your best option would be to do a full System Recovery to see if that solves your problem. Another possibility is a failing power supply unit (PSU).  Here is a guide to help you troubleshoot it.  The problems that you describe can be caused by a lack of power from the PSU. Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.

Hi all,
I have a HP pavilion 6404 (PIII 550, 128M, 10G HDD), been running win98 and recently upgraded to xp. the system is hanging on the windows welcome screen. I have loaded the OS twice with same prob. been told that I may need to upgrade the bios of the motherboard. the m/board has got written P2B-VE (ASUS AS97-127F). went to hp website and downloaded the little program to flash the bios, but stops and display a message saying "cannot flash when memory agents (eg HIMEM) are present".
AM I missing something? or is there anything I should be doing differently?
Any help will be appreciated
Thanks in advance

A:Bios upgrade

Bios updates should be done from pure dos ie no memory managers, config.sys, autoexec.bat, etc running. Go to bootdisk.com and download the disk they have just for flashing a bios.

Hi all,

Sorry to bother but I'm having problems installing XP Pro and someone suggested I upgrade my BIOS software.

I've got a Abit AB-BX6 but not sure which to use.

http://www.abit.com.tw/page/uk/moth...?pMODEL_NAME=BX6&fMTYPE=Slot 1&pPRODINFO=BIOS

The problem is that I can't seem to install XP right after the 'Copying Files' then reboot stage. I've managed to get Win98 on there.

Is it risky to do the BIOS upgrade?

Should I just use the latest one? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Ok I bought a new cdrw the other day and I tried to burn a few files using the latest edition of Nero, but it's coming back saying that the bios is dated 98 when it needs 99.
Using SIW there is no info as to the mobo maker.
Here's the shots below.
How can I up this bios if it's possible?

My computer has a ASUS K8V SE Delux Mobo in it and the BIOS version is 1001.005
I was looking at the ASUS Website and the current BIOS version is 1007. Is there a reason I should upgrade to the current bios and if so, how would I do it? It seems that for Bios before 1003 one needs to use something called afudos not "flash" I have NO floppy on my computer but have a second hard drive, ability to use a key drive or a cd. Any help appreciated. Im running XP home THANKS!

A:Bios Upgrade??? Yes or No? How?

Do you have any problems that a BIOS upgrade will cure? If the answer is no, so is my answer to your question. You should only do a BIOS upgrade if you are addressing a specific issue, since a bad FLASH can leave you with a doorstop for a computer.

I received a Routine Alert from HP stating that there was a BIOS F.61 update available for select ProBooks.  My ProBook 4525s was included in the included list.  The details stated the upgrade "Improved the UEFI EDK2 security" and "HP strongly recommends transitioning to this updated BIOS version."  When I clicked on the link for my laptop and selected my OS (Windows 7 Pro 32), then clicked on BIOS, what showed was F.60 Rev.A, 30 NOV 2015.  Where do I find BIOS F.61? Thanks

Dont think Im being mean, but you really need to rethink your post, start again and tell us exactly what you are trying to achieve and why you think a BIOS flash would fix it.

My BIOS version is A09 on Dell Latitude 5510 laptop.
I tried to install the last version - A16, but first i need to flash on A10. When i download and open A10 the program closed and send message: "E5510A10.exe stopped working" so i can't install new BIOS. If you guys can tell me how to fix this file problem will be nice.

A:I can't upgrade BIOS - Help !

I had this issue in the past as well. What I did was download a tool that allowed me to create a bootable usb (dos). I had the E55A10.exe on the root of the usb stick so I can update the bios from DOS. Worked like a champ.
The tool was call NautilusA41_ZPE.exe. It is on the dell site somewhere.

A:Cpu and Bios Upgrade

I went ahead and flashed the bios myself. The intel bios took considering this was an intel manufactured board in the first place. With the bios upgraded I can now go ahead and drop the new processor and everything will work fine.

Note to viewers: Always make sure a processor is compatible with your board before installing it.The board must have already installed the appropiate bios.If you have an oem system like emachines or any other
namebrand make sure you either have the appropiate oem bios for the new processor...In my case emachines was not willing to help *** me in this process saying putting new bios on my computer would ruin the board...with being able to upgrade the bios and processor you no longer need the company so there not quick to assist.Considering bios upgrades to the board from the manufatcurer of the board is risky,
if the oem alters the board in certain ways the bios may not take which
can ruin your board...so before installing new bios be sure to create a bios recovery disc or floppy and make sure your familiar with the syntax that will need to be reentered if you get the blue screen of death. In my case my board was an intel d945gccr intel purchased from gateway.
On the board the new number was d945gccrg1.Only the g and the 1 were different which ws on the sticker on the board not on the actual board.I was able to locate the most recent bios for the board by visiting intel. The first two letters of the bios gave me the courage to upgrade the bios. The bios on emachines Gateway was cr****** and so on
the bios on intel were cr****** and so on so i took a shot and succeeded now when my computer starts it says intel and the processor im upgrading to is the highest for my board. When i drop the processor ill reply back to show how it went.

Hi everyone, from some year i'm having a bad trouble with my notebbok:when i force my video card to do a heavy job(to watch a hd video for expamle) in the 40% of cases my pc crashes in the a black screen. So i read in the internet thath the issue can be solved by an upgrade of BIOS. So can you help me to find the right way in order to upgrade my Bios?Product Name is Hp-g066nl. Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english!

A:Upgrade BIOS

There is a fairly new BIOS from September, 2015 which would likely be an update for you: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp73501-74000/sp73940.exe Download this and run it from within Windows. Don't be running any other programs. Make sure it is plugged in to AC power and has a fully charged battery. Don't expect miracles on the video. It is actually doubtful this will make a difference but the BIOS update is part of ordinary maintenance so it cannot hurt to do it. You may find that the HP software on the laptop has already performed this update and if so the BIOS program will tell you that you already have this BIOS and refuse to go further.  If this is "the Answer" please click "Accept as Solution" to help others find it.
