Memorex DVD rewriter not burning DVDs with Nero 8 any longer

Q: Memorex DVD rewriter not burning DVDs with Nero 8 any longer

I am using Nero 8 (store bought version) due to all the neat DVD burning features and software included in the program. I have been using it with my Memorex 16x DVD Rewriter for a long time now to great effect until the last couple months or so. Now it seems everytime I use Nero Vision or any of the DVD writing tools to try to burn video onto a DVD I always get an error close to the end of the burning process. This is driving me nuts. I really want to be able to make my own DVDs. I have tried different types of DVD-Rs, etc. to no avail. I have attached one of the newest error logs from Nero below so maybe hopefully it will give a clue as to what is happening.

Thanks in advance!

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I also tonight upgraded my Nero to version 9 to see if that would help but it has not. I still cannot burn a DVD. In addition, I cannot seem to burn using just the Windows Vista burning options either. I am starting to think I need to buy a new DVD Rewriter.

Please help!

I'm trying to help my friend's dad burn DVDs using Nero 7. He bought it new at Best Buy and I installed it. I took a couple of files off of his computer, mp3 files and one movie, and put them in Nero. Everything was going fine until the very end it says "Burn Failed". Is anyone else having a problem like this and did they fix it? Any suggestions?

A:Problem burning DVDs with Nero

Try a different brand of media (dvd/cd) first. If that doesn't fix it then uninstall and reinstall Nero with nothing else running on the computer IE: Anti-virus, firewall etc.....

Good Day

I was wondering if someone could help me. I just purchased this dvd burner. The problem I am having is that I was able to burn a video dvd with the bonus light scribe disc that came with the burner. I then went to use the dvd-r's I had left over from before my last burner died. It would not record to the dvd-r's. It would encode the video to my harddrive but when it shouls open up and begin the writing process it fails every time. tried with 5 different dvd's but of same variety. Checked specs and it says it is both dvd+ and dvd-. Anyone have any ideas. Doesn't really pop up with an error message just tells me process failed. Thanks

A:Data Verification Failed after DVD Rewriter burning.

Experiment and try full erasing the DVD RW disc rather than quick erasing unless the disc is brand new. Using Nero 6 (I know yours is Nero 7) when I had data verification problems, fully erasing the disc seemed to solve that problem. I was able to add and delete data to the compilation later without problem.

For your reference the DVD writer I used was an HP 640c Lightscribe I installed in a USB external enclosure. I use it to backup data on my work PC that only has a combo drive (DVD ROM/CD RW). However, CDs do not have enough capacity for my purposes.

I am using a laptop that is a HP Pavilion dv4 Notebook PC.
The OS being used is the 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium.

I am trying to burn a DVD video file (.vob file) to a DVD disc using Nero Vision Essentials (Nero 9).

After importing the file into the project, I played the video and found that it has no sound.

As a result, when I have successfully burned it to a DVD disc and played this disc on my DVD player, it has also no sound.

Nero Burning ROM crashed during burning and now my DVD drive is unusable. I cannot open the drive, I cannot shut down the computer because it says "Waiting for DVD Drive D:" and the drive runs like it is still burning despite the program doing the burning is no longer open. It isn't even in any process. What can I do to make the drive stop?

A:Nero Burning ROM crashing caused perpetual burning from DVD Drive

Go to Task Manager...shut the system down from there.

Turn system off....hard shutdown if necessary...disconnect the optical drive.

Sounds to me like it's a hardware problem moreso than a software problem if you cannot manually open the drive.

I am a "Nero Veteran", war veteran, etc.. etc.. The reason your having problems is simple. Some discs cannot be copied, as they may be copy protected or contain errors. If you are unsure if your disc can be copied,
run a trial in the "simulation" mode. Click on "More" at the bottom of the page and select "Simulation".

A:Memorex Burner/Nero Software - "Insert Writable Medium"

Welcome to TSG.

Go to device manager and remove the burner. Reboot and Windows will reinstall it.

Nero is down right now, but go to www.nero.com and navigate to the updates for version 5 of Nero. It wouldn’t be the first time that a burner came with software that wasn’t completely updated to work with it. Even if the CD says it can be used only on your burner it can be upgraded.

Use Force Aspi to upgrade your ASPI layer: http://www.cyrus.troy.btinternet.co.uk/downloads.htm

That is a rebadged Lite-On burner. Lite-On has released several firmware upgrades for it but Memorex hasn’t. There is a hacked Lite-On firmware that is supposed to work with it but I am reluctant to recommend it. Here is the link in case nothing else works: http://forum.firmware-flash.com/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1541

Ok, i'm new to this CD Burning. I have Nero Express, and i'm having a little problem with it.

I've copied an Audio CD to a CD-R, and it plays fine, but there are still space on it, and i wanted to put a MP3 (it converts to CDA really nice also) together with the already burned tracks, but i can't. Everytime i put the same CD, i get the folloqing message:

"This midia cannot be recorded
Please Insert another midia."

(Sorry if it's not right, cuz i translated from portuguese)

Can i do what i want?? How??

Sorry if it is hard to understand, it is hard to explain.

Thank you

A:Audio CD Burning with Nero Burning Rom

You cannot append any audio files to an disc that has been completed. Once a disc is completed it cannot access the remaining space. Especially with Nero Express. Once a disc is burned it is "closed (finalized)."

This is just a simple explanation.

I believe Roxio's Easy cd creator lets you add files to your disc as long as you don't "finalize" it. Until you finalize it you will not be able to listen to the music.

Hello all,
I am rather new at burning DVD's shouldn't I be able to read the data after burning the DVD when I click the drive letter? I have tried to make a copy of some music that I have on hard disk. It does say that it has completed the burn and when I ask for the disc identity within Nero 6 it shows the one session or track with the amount that was burned, apprx 3.5 gig. That seems to me that all went well but shouldn't I be able to then exit Nero and read the files on it when I select the drive while browsing? I recall with my old cd burner that I could do that.

I am running Xp pro with IGig P3 and 256ram all well above minimum req. for the Sony Dvd r/w'r.
Thanks for reading and any help would be appreciated.

i recently purchased nero 7 ultra, + im having problems copying my dvd collection. i have about 300 dvds + all my friends + family borrow a few now + again. usually when i get them back they are scratched or i dont get them back. i thought if i bought nero7 it would solve my problems, + i could keep the originals in good condition. its actually added to the problem as the manual isnt very clear in explaining how to copy my dvds. i also have sonic7 but couldnt get that to copy dvds either. the only thing that let me copy them was clonedvd2 with dvdregion + css free. i also have virtual clone drive +dvdshrink v3.2. can someone please shed some light on how to copy dvds with nero7? im ready for taking it back to the shop(pcworld) + sticking with clonedvd2 + dvdregion + css free. i would be greatful for some help as i dont know where to go from here. thank you

If you have Nero installed on your computer and DvdShrink all you need to do is open the dvd with DvdShrink, reauthor pick the main movie, then click backup and choose your dvd burner as the location then click OK and DvdShrink will do all the work. You don't even have to open Nero.

Nero Version: 6.6.0.14
Windows XP Pro Version 2002

Originally, every once in a while a DVD might not work. Now one works out of many bad burns. I hate to keep putting more in the tray just to waste it.

The primary and secondary IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers have disabled drivers. Nothing I do enables the drivers. I don't know if this problem is related or not.

I've attached the Nero report from my last burn attempt. Please note I had tried a slower burn rate (12x - it didn't help).

I don't see how to download an update to Nero without buying their latest version. Is this correct?

TIA

i have a friend who believes that if he buys a dvdr or dvdrw, he can just rent a dvd movie (ex// the matrix), burn it, then give it back, thus owning a dvd movie at the fraction of the cost (or borrowing someone else's movie, buring it and giving it back). I dont believe it is possibe. Is he rite or Im rite?

A:Burning DVDs

Firstly, what you are describing IS piracy, IS copyright infringement, and IS illegal.

And even if your friend gets a DVD writer, there is still CSS encryption on the DVD. This means that, for example, if he was to copy the files from the DVD onto his hard drive and then try to play it, it would not work very well at all, because 1/4 of the content he had copied to his HDD would be gibberish.

If he wanted to copy DVDs, he would need a piece of software which strips the CSS encryption from the files as they are written to the hard drive before he burned them to a DVD. I believe that such software, although available here and there perhaps, is also illegal now.

There is software around to rip DVDs to Divx files to burn to CDs.

Lastly, I don't believe that this "friend" of yours exists, and that in fact you are talking about yourself. So why not come clean about that??

But if your question is, is this possible? Yes. It is. If you strip the CSS encryption away whilst writing the files from the DVD to your hard drive, and then burn those to a DVD disk, yes. I have seen it done.

Hello, this is my first post and I'm completely oblivious to what I should do or say, so here goes. My operating system is Windows XP and my computer is a Dell Inspiron that came with Sonic Media for burning dvds, etc. I've used this program for over a year and now it says "Error in scanning image to selected drive, free up 4GB on any drive and retry" I only have one harddrive and it has 33GB free space. So what could be the problem?

Thanks

Used to use Nero to burn audio cds and video dvds. Do I still need to use burning software or is windows7 capable of the same in the following situations?
Burning audio cds by dragging mp3 files and having then burned as an audio cd.
Burning video dvds by dragging and burning the video_ts and audio_ts folders.
Windows DVD burner seems to only burn movie files like mpg which are converted during burning to a playable dvd. Haven't tried the burning of mp3 files through windows media player yet.

A:burning cds/dvds

Not sure it helps you, I guess it's more of a vote-like thing, but personally I still use Nero. I don't see any advantage in using the built-in burning capabilities, given that I do have Nero already. Maybe if i had to decide whether to buy it or not, I would think more on the issue, but since I did that already, there seems to be no issue at all.

Hi all. I've got an HP Pavilion 750c, 1.8ghz, 80gb hard drive about half full, and I recently installed an HP 530i dvd burner. The burner burns cd's just fine, but I can't get a DVD to burn to save my life. I'm using captured home video, BTW.

First I tried ArcSoft Showbiz 2, which came with the burner, and with most of the DVD's I burned, the menu shows up, but I can't get any further. I click on the menu and nothing happens.

I have downloaded the InterVideo WinDVD Creator 2 trial version, and it seems to burn OK, but when I go to play the disc, the colors are all dark and wrong. I've tried to play them with RealPlayer, InterVideo DVD, and WMP.

I have tried this with cheap discs from Fry's and some Memorex ones too, just to see if it was the cheap discs. Now I'm plum out of ideas. Any help would be appreciated.

I use Sonic MyDVD version 5.
MyDVD does not have all the bells but its the most stable program I have used by far!
I have used it to capture at least 350GB of video from Mini DVD tape and have burned several hundred DVDs.
DVD buring, you will soon find, is not an exact science.
Others in this forum can help you better if this proves to be a hardware issue.
If you want to try a MyDVD trial hit http://www.sonic.com/

I have a HP computer with a DVD burner and finally figured out how to burn my camcorder footage to a hard drive and then burning it to a DVD. Ihave DVD+R's and when I'm finished I can play them on my computer but not on my DVD player or my son's Sony Plastation 2 so I can watch it through the TV. I called my free tech support through HP and one guy said call DVD manufacturer and he can help you change settings so it will work I don't believe this so I called back and someone else said if it plays on the computer it should play on the DVD player for the TV. Do you need a special DVD player for television so it will work. Any comments or suggestions. THank You

Are the dvds that are burning in 6 mins, burning at higher speeds than normal? (above 20x) Sometimes faster burning speed can reduce the quality of dvds you burn from your computer, try burning at a slower speed to see if there is any improvement maybe?

Really? Because I recall hearing the opposite. I don't believe either is better than the other. I do recommend burning at the lowest speed possible and maybe buying from the second cheapest brand. If you do that, you should't have a problem.

Hello.. I have some old movies that I would like to burn to DVDs. I have 4.7GB DVD-R's that I bought and I am using Nero 8. The first time I tried burning a DVD I used NeroVision and I used a video guide. In the very last part where you choose to burn to a dvd it showed the person choosing their dvd drive, but for me the drive wasnt there, so I chose to save it to my documents. I have a Dell Dimension 3000 and im pretty sure it has a Burning Drive because where you put in the disc it says compact disc ReWritable and the DVD rom symbol. Should I use Nero Burning Rom instead or can someone guide me through the process?

Any help Appreciated!

Ok to start with you can't burn dvd movies that are copyright. For example like The Hulk or Spiderman. As it would be illegal. Now if its home movies you are after to burn new copies now you can do that. And i don't think your computer has a dvd burner. If it did it would say something like dvd writer. now i might be wrong though. Now i have read your computer has a dvd reader though.

Sometimes when upgrading OS from Windows XP to Windows 7 the programs might not work in Windows 7 because Windows is a lot different compatibility issues. Try going to the Nero shortcut right click on it select Properties the click on the Compatibility tab then change it to Windows XP SP2 or SP3. See if that helps.

Have you tried XP mode with Windows 7? http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

You have to find out in which form the film is posted in. Most films are uploaded in a form of compression to enable people to download them quicker. You need to post here the type of compression used in the films that you cant play. For instance, if its an AVI file, the film will only play in a DVD Player that supports AVI. You can convert the files into another type of compression, or you can convert it to Vob files, which all DVDs are produced in. But if you post the details, I will try and help you more . Delgado

Do you have a dvd drive, and software that supports dvd burning? If so, all you need is a blank writable dvd, insert it into the drive, and create a compilation from your burning software and burn it. Don't know what you are burning, and it makes a difference. Hi,

I have brought some Memorex DVD+RWs but I am having trouble burning DVDs.

The problem is that the PC will not recognise the DVD+RW disc. So every time I go to 'write these files to CD' I get stuck on the wizard when it asks me to insert the DVD, I have done but the PC is not recognising the disc.

I did it before using nero, I put a CD-R in and using Nero I made a CD which played video on my DVD player, but I am not sure if this is the same.

I looked on Device Manager and I have a SAMSUNG CDRW/DVD SM-348B. I am running Windows XP Home.

Can I actually burn DVDs on this PC?

If not, what do I need to download/buy to get my PC recognising the DVD+RW discs and enabling me to burn a DVD.

I think it might be either a virus or a problem with a recent Windows update, but I don't know...

Okay I don t post here for easy stuff Also I m pretty sure I don t have a virus thorough scans with MBAM and Avast come up clean I m open to suggestions though I DVDs no longer play run Windows XP SP I don t play DVDs on my computer often maybe a few times a year The last time was probably about or months ago and it played without incident Last night I tried to play a DVD and it won t play I have DVDs no longer play several programs that should be able to play DVDs Windows Media Player ver Real Player GOM Player Nero Showtime Essentials etc None of them work any longer I am not aware of any changes I ve made in the interim When I run quot DVDUPGRD Detect quot it detects Nero I have always had Autorun turned off Up until now I would put a DVD in the tray go to My Computer click on the drive and the DVD DVDs no longer play would start playing in Nero -- I ve associated DVD video with Nero Now Nero comes up but only the controls are present It doesn t really hang because it s responsive as far as pulling up the list of options and clicking on the quot X quot to shut it down but it won t acknowledge that there s a DVD in either Drive D or E When I try to play the DVD with WMP it tells me it cannot play DVDs DVDs no longer play it used to play them just fine It makes some generic suggestions about the screen settings I haven t changed them since the last time I played a DVD and it tries to get me to subscribe to Napster When I try to play with Real it opens and the control panel at the bottom indicates that it is playing a video and can toggle between quot Play quot and quot Pause quot but it only displays ads for Rhapsody etc GOM tells me it needs a codec -- I believe I already have one see DVDUPGRD Anyway I tried the one they suggested and it didn t work so I uninstalled it On a thought I ran Nero and had it check for updates It found some In the process of downloading and installing the updates it actually managed to wipe itself off my computer Fortunately I still had the original CD and reinstalled it Even so I had to go back in and reassign all my file associations Everything else about Nero seems to work I can copy a DVD a home-recorded DVD without any copy protection of course but I can t play one Any thoughts EDIT I should also mention that I have tried several different DVDs including some that have played successfully in the past Neither of my two DVD drives will play them Both drives are less than years old I don t think the problem is related to either the DVDs or the drives

Every time I try to make a dvd compilation with Nero, it says "reading dvd volume failed". Any insights on what I'm doing wrong? TIA

A:Nero: Can't record clips from multiple DVDs onto one disc

It depends on how you're doing it. It's easy to do just with DVD Shrink.
Get all your clips and add them into Shrink in ReAuthor mode. Then output as files and burn with NERO. You could also output as an ISO and burn with DVDDecrypter or NERO.

I use TMPGENC DVDAuthor to make demo disks for home theater. It's great if you want to make menus.

Minor issue here. I have a lite on dvd recorder that came with a nero 6. Recently I upgraded to nero 7 ultra and now I notice that when I playback a burned dvd in my dvd player that it cannot fast forward over 2x the speed. It simply freezes up then return to the original menu. Before I could fast forward a scene up to 8x the speed(the maximum of my dvd player).
I tried changing the settings just before I burn my dvd. First making sure that it was a the maximum setting. Then i tried to change the write speed setting to 8x. No change. Like I said this is minor but I was wondering if this is a glitch with nero 7 ultra or did upgrading somehow change a setting or what? Thnks!

Any way to fix the coding on it or something? When i want to burn a dvd it brings me to use the nero vision 4 program, it works on certain dvd players but not all, is there any way of fixing this?

A:Burned dvds using nero wont work on certain dvd players

Make sure you are not creating a multi-session disk and ensure that you finalize the disc. Also dvd players have an easier time reading DVD+R than DVD-R.

Is it possible to burn a DVD from video stored on my hard drive without using a program such as windows moviemaker ?? Thanks !!

A:Solved: Burning DVDs

Yes, but not if you want to play the DVD. You can burn any file to DVD, but most video files need to be encoded or converted to the right format before you can burn a DVD that will play.

Hey, i'm having problems when it comes to burning dvds, usually it takes 20 minutes to read them only about 10 to write them but lately my DVD drive has only been reading at 2x, taking about 1 hour and 6 minutes to copy them, i have tried going into the RegEdit and i changed some stuff in there and it worked temporarily. Any idea as to why this is happening? Help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

A:problems with burning dvds

Hi Gbizkit and welcome to TSF !

At what speed does your burner read regular DVD's (DVD you bought) ? Are you still using the same media brand as before ? Can you read the DVD's you burned at the normal speed on another computer ?

What's your burner brand and model ? If you don't know you can find out in the device manager (start => run => devmgmt.msc) under DVD/CD-rom drives. Check on the burner's manufacturer website whether the media you're using are fully compatible with your burner.

Use kprobe to test the quality of the burning. Ideally PIF should be under 5 and PI under 50. If it's more than ten times that then you should seriously consider writing at a slower speed to ensure that you'll still be able to read those DVD's in 3 or 4 years.

What settings did you change in the registry ?

I have had a laptop for 6 months, with a DVDRW, has been working fine until last week. When you look at My Computer is shows the drive as a DVD-RW, as soon as you put in a blank DVD to burn an image, the icon on My Computer changes to a CD-ROM and does not allow me to burn a movie.

I have tried different media no success
Tried deleting the driver and getting XP to pick it up no success.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Does Windows xp contain the Question in XP DVDs about Burning logic for burning DVDs or is this logic only available through DVD hardware drivers I have an HP y CD DVD R W pretty sure Question about Burning DVDs in XP it s also and until now I ve always been satisfied burning to CD However I have known for some time that the burn to DVD feature was unavailable to me I know the unit reads DVDs a feature I use fairly frequently for installing software or playing music or movies The unit works like a charm and it has been great so I am fairly certain that it is working fine Also I scoured the internet for threads on the topic this is the second time actually and it always comes down to the same thing At least one of the posts in each of the threads that I have found has mentioned that Windows xp does not support burning to DVD I Question about Burning DVDs in XP asked around years ago and someone told me that service pack solved this problem so I installed it but I still can t write or burn to DVD What I would like is a definitive kernel of fact so that I can proceed with a course of action I really need to be able to burn to DVD so I would like to Question about Burning DVDs in XP know what exactly are the facts with xp and burning DVDs Must my DVD player s driver have the logic for the burn feature to work for DVDs I contacted HP a few years ago First I tried a driver that was written for the B model of the DVD mine is Y It didn t work but it was the only one available so I contacted HP help via e-mail I got a response but it was definitely not what I wanted to hear They just weren t going to listen to my problem Sort of an quot I don t know but I am definitely not getting into this issue with anyone goodbye and have a nice day quot response That left me with the feeling at the time that I was in the middle of a tussle between Microsoft and HP over who should be writing the compatibility code for the various hardware peripherals I almost felt like HP had a grudge with Microsoft over having to include special functions in their drivers when they felt that xp should support their hardware products Personally I guess I can sort of see their point if this is true But hey Microsoft is the giant Seems like when they make up their minds on a issue they just leave the issue in the past no matter how easy it would be for them to issue a fix My suspicion is that all the programming for burning to DVD must be in the DVD driver for me to be able to burn to DVD in xp and that HP missed the boat with their driver It s a real shame to me because the unit is really an excellent one and it was MADE for xp The speed is great and the quality is top I am very confident with my burns to CD Anyway thanks ahead of time I would really like to replace my suspicion with some facts so anyone with the definitive truth about xp and burning DVDs please reply nbsp

What is the best software for burning DVDs in XP? I can burn to CD on an external CD/DVD burner drive I have, but apparently XP does not support burning to DVD, and there is no driver for my external that enables the feature of the drive. I know it's possible, because of all the machines that came with an internal DVD burner that had XP on them. The only difference between those drives and mine must be the driver software. Mine has internal drivers that use the OS functions only. I did check for updated drivers with the manufacturer, but there weren't any that addressed this issue.

I am sure somebody else has had this problem over the years. What should I do? The free burner utilities available do not enable this feature for my drive. Would software like Nero make it possible for me to burn to DVD?

Help!

A:ISO help with burning dvds with windows 7

OK, first has the DVD-R already have files burned on it? You can only use a DVD-R once, unless you chose to not close the session after burning. Next, what software are you using to burn the DVD? This may seem obvious, but do you have a DVD/RW drive?
Be sure you are using a blank DVD-R that is a name brand not a generic (Phillips, Sony, TDK etc) Try using the free program CDBurner XP and choose to make a Data Disc, and drop your photos into that.

I am using Nero to burn my dvds. When I copy a dvd, it only takes about 5 minutes to make a backup of one of my dvd movies onto a 4GB blank dvd. Yet, when I use Nero to turn a bunch of AVI into a dvd (not just a data dvd but a movie dvd), it takes about 2 hours to burn that 4GB DVD.

Can somebody explain to me why this is? Is there a way i can get this done alot faster?

The extra time witht he AVI fiels is probably due to Nero converting the AVI files to burnt hem.

I've got an HP laptop w/ Vista on it. I tried to burn some DVDs and here's what happens every time:

1) Insert DVD, auto loads in HP Quickplay, cancel out.
2) File Explorer > Computer: Select DVD Drive and click "Burn to disc"
3) Window pops up: "There are no files to burn"
4) File Exlpore DVD, select all, then click "burn to disc" > same window pops up.

then I open WMP, go to the burn screen and try to drag the files to the drag and drop section but nothing moves. I've tried some other things but everytime it always ends with the window popping up saying "There are no files to burn." HELP! I just want to use my DVD Burner...

I have an internal CD-RW, and wanted a DVD burner. I bought an external LG GSA-E40N/L. Works great.
When I get a new PC, a DVD burner will be included. Thus, I will have 2 DVD burners. Or should I ask for no DVD burner on a new PC? A DVD-ROM or a CD-RW instead?
My question is this: I want to have 2 DVDs of copies of photos, work, etc. Is it ok to burn to an internal CD-R/DVD and an external DVD simultaneously? I want to save time, and burning at a slow speed such as 16x would take too long if burning one at a time. Besides, what's the point of having 2 DVD burners then?

I have an external dvd burner that is giving me lots of problems when I'm trying to burn dvds. It is plugged into its own outlet so it is recieving adequate power, it's plugged into the main usb port, and it is set up correctly (as far as I know). It's a 16x burn but it wont ever burn a perfect dvd at speeds any faster than 1x when it decides that it wants to. I've wasted 2/3 of the blank dvds that I've bought so ANY suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I searched and couldn't find any updates for anything, but I also ran the nero cd-dvd speed tool and found that it ran along a normal path but it had large spikes in it about every 1/10 of the cycle. I'm not sure what I can do to correct that, if anything.

Hi, I've recently been trying to burn some movies onto DVD but with both windows dvd maker and nero 7 the program stops working when i add the video files, does anyone kno what the problem is.

This is the application crash log for Windows DVD Maker :

Faulting application DVDMaker.exe, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x479193d1, faulting module ac3filter.acm_unloaded, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x46c6a5b4, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x042bb5ed, process id 0x18f4, application start time 0x01c9150b75b891e1.

And this is the log for Nero:

Faulting application NeroVision.exe, version 4.7.0.16, time stamp 0x455d63b8, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x00000000, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0754b5ed, process id 0x125c, application start time 0x01c9150bad7d9bc1.

If anybody is able to shed light on the issue it would be much appreciated.

Thank You. Sam.

Hi I m trying to burn a DVD to backup some files e g docs photos music but am having trouble I use a Compaq Evo N v laptop that has a built-in DVD ROM drive I ve tried the Trouble DVDs burning following putting a blank DVD in the drive then going to Windows Explorer Selecting the files to copy and then pasting them on to the DVD drive d This then created temporary files and by right-clicking my mouse I got the option to write the files to CD This gave me the error saying that there is no disk in the drive So I installed a copy of Nero and tried using their file backup Trouble burning DVDs wizard However when trying to select the DVD drive it said I needed to select a valid target So I thought it might be because I was using DVDs so I put a CD-R in the drive The drive read the CD and automatically opened up a Windows Explorer box showing me that there was already a file on the CD There was still plenty of space left on the CD however so I went through the Nero wizard again but got the same message about having to select a valid target I m now at my wits end and don t know what to try next Is it just me being dumb or could it possibly be a faulty disk drive I wonder whether it might be the latter as I ve been using the drive to copy my music CDs onto my MP player and the drive doesn t always recognise the music CD Any advice on what I should do would be greatly appreciated Many thanks nbsp

hi everyone having trouble with some dvds that wont analyze 100% therfore i cannot burn.tried dvd shrink, dvdfab5, clone and express burn. do i need a different program for these specific dvds. thanks tanyapm

A:Problems burning DVDs

if you're trying to make backups of movies then use ripit4me with dvd shrink and dvddcrypter

bear in mind not all dvds can be hacked, but I have not found one yet that ripit4me cannot break. Of course this is only for legitimate back up purposes. Anything else would be illegal.

A:burning Data DVDs - please help

Make sure that in the drop down box for recorders your DVD Burner is showing and not "image recorder."

So I ve been researching this for a while now and I just can t succeed in burning a DVD that ll work on most DVD players I just found a program called DVD Flick that converts it into VOB files which I think might Burning DVDs universal be the right format for what I m looking for I tried it a few days ago I accidentally converted the movie without burning so I dragged and dropped it onto the DVD I tried and played it and no success I m going to try and going straight from convert to burn since it has the option I just don t want to be waisting to many DVDs Am I on the right track or does someone else have a program they prefer I have AVS Video Converter which I ve been using for my iTouch and PSP and Burning universal DVDs see that also has a DVD converter option which I ve yet to try Thanks nbsp

A:Burning universal DVDs

If you dragged and dropped, you made a UDF format DVD. If you see the option in DVDFlick to burn, go directly to that instead of burning the files separately by another method and that will work fine. You can use another burner, but make it the standard ISO format if you do.

I have a cd/dvd player and a cd/dvd burner that I use to make copies. I have room in the case to add 3 more burners. I would like to burn 4 copies at a time. Will this work? If so, how? I use Win 7/64.

A:Burning multiple cd/dvds

Several burning apps can perform that function. I've done it in the past using Alcohol 120. However, the burn speed is greatly reduced. In my instance, it was slightly faster to burn two discs at once that it was to simply burn one at a time.
