I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey guys,

So i spent the entire day trying to figure out why my Bluetooth installed fine but after one restart it disappeared and it wouldn't come back. I finally figured it out that the FN+F2 (wireless/bluetooth switches) is what enables/disabled it HAHAHAHAHA.

default (after startup): WiFi on / BT off
first time: WiFi on / BT ON yay~!
second time: WiFi off / BT on
third time: WiFi off / BT off

and repeat.

I hope this helps people with their bluetooth issues =)

Windows 8 was able to install all my Function Keys so I'm going to assume this will be the case for others. Good luck

I'm looking for a wifi router that will connect to the Internet via separate Bluetooth hotspot instead of (or even better, in addition to) a wired Ethernet connection from a modem.

Thanks for the help -

Hi all,

Question is as per the subject line but the reason I ask is that although each laptop is visible to the other in Devices and Printers when I try to send a file from the Vista laptop to the Win 7 laptop I get a message failure message. On the Win 7 machine when I click the the bluetooth icon in the systray the option to 'Allow a Device to connect' is greyed-out and there is no alert that a device is trying to connect. A far as I can tell the bluetooth settings on both laptops are OK, adding a device was OK with the passwork handshake completed without problem.

Is this a driver issue, settings issue, or summat else?

Ta.

Couple of questions

Are you using "homegroup" for networking?

Is there no other way you can transfer like wifi (its faster)?

Using cell phone as a modem via bluetooth.. is there anyway to hook this connection up to a wireless router so i can use it throughout the house? Works fine on this computer, but i just don't know how i would hook it up correctly to work with other computers? I attempted to, but the internet connection was still not working on the other computer... It's an actiontec wireless router if that helps? Thanks in advance for your advice!

A:Anway to connect bluetooth cell modem to wireless router?

You would need to connect the computer to the router (by Wi-Fi or ethernet) and then enable ICS on the connection with internet access. It's better to not use the Actiontec as a router, but to use this procedure (the two most important things are to not use the WAN port and to disable the Dhcp server) ...

JohnWill's procedure (Aug. 30, 2008) for configuring a secondary router as a switch and, optionally, wireless access point follows.

Connecting two (or more) SOHO broadband routers together.

Note: The "primary" router can be an actual router, a software gateway like Microsoft Internet Connection Sharing, or a server connection that has the capability to supply more than one IP address using DHCP server capability. No changes are made to the primary "router" configuration.

Configure the IP address of the secondary router(s) to be in the same subnet as the primary router, but out of the range of the DHCP server in the primary router. For instance DHCP server addresses 192.168.0.2 through 192.168.0.100, I'd assign the secondary router 192.168.0.254 as it's IP address, 192.168.0.253 for another router, etc.

Note: Do this first, as you will have to reboot the computer to connect to the router again for the remaining changes.

Disable the DHCP server in the secondary router.

Setup the wireless section just the way you would if it was the primary router, channels, encryption, etc.

Connect from the primary router's LAN port to one of the LAN ports on the secondary router. If there is no uplink port and neither of the routers have auto-sensing ports, use a cross-over cable. [You will not need a cross-over cable if one of the "routers" is a computer.] Leave the WAN port unconnected!

This procedure bypasses the routing function (NAT layer) and configures the router as a switch (or wireless access point for wireless routers).

For reference, here's a link to a Typical example config using a Netgear router

Oh the hassles!!! Just when I had the port forwarding perfected for my modem/router, I decide to go wireless.

My modem router is D-Link DSL-504G

My wirelss router is Netgear WGR614v7

My laptop is running XP

My webcam is Logitech Pro and I broadcast using UBroadcast on port 8080

OK, in the old days I would port forward from the D-Link IP 10.1.1.2 to port 8080

Now, I went to portforward.com and followed their instructions for the Netgear and portforwarded IP 192.168.1.136 to port 8080

Sooooooo, what do I portforward the D-link to now????

See if you can see out my window on my webcam. In WMP, File, Open URL, and put in
http://ladeda.no-ip.info:8080

Thanks in advance.

PS I don't think I am broadcasting...

How 5G network works in a router after disable 2.4G in a router none of my LAN laptop has internet connection, I did a research in a google that if you network support 802.11b 802.11g 802.11n in netsh wlan show driver that means your laptop network interface card support the 5G network, but after disable the 2.4G in a ISP router all my laptop can't connect to the internet.

A:How 5G network works in a router after disable 2.4G in a router none of my LAN laptop

3g/4g/5g are cellular based signals like for a cell phone. You must either have a compatible dongle, a hotspot device, or if possible set up your cellphone as a hotspot. I don't know of any laptops that have support built in.

Unfortunately, theres seem to be no bluetooth on the laptop even though is apparently "integrated bluetooth". I opened the manual book and acording to the book when i press Fn F2 it shud turn it on. However, when i do this, this is ONLY for wireless lan, there is actually no bluetooth function together. Anybody got any ideas how to "activate" bluetooth or sumthing???

A:Bluetooth/Laptop

That model doesn't have a Bluetooth adapter, so you'd first have to buy and install one. Some phones require software to be installed in order to transfer data, and some simply don't support it. Others only allow transfers to and from flash memory cards. The first step should be to review your phone's manual, and contact your cell provider with any questions as features can vary by phone and provider.

Hello! It seems as if this laptop does not have any bluetooth capabilities, which is a bummer! Could someone confirm that? If not then I'm looking for a way to change that, what are some solutions? I really dont want to have to have a dongle taking up a USB Port, is there a way I could install a driver? Thanks in advance, Aaron

A:Is there a way I can get Bluetooth on my laptop?

If only you could add hardware by adding software. I confirmed your laptop did not have bluetooth from the factory. Your choices are 2. Add the usb dongle: easy cheap works like a charm. Otherwise open the back of the laptop, remove the wireless card and install a dual function wifi and BT card in its place and it has to be one of those cards HP offered from the factory on the same model series or the laptop will refuse to boot up. It is actually not terribly hard to do and not terribly expensive although more than the dongle thing. Once you have Bluetooth hardware in the laptop THEN we install a driver.  Post back if you want specific instructions and we need to know what country you live in.

A:Bluetooth gone from Windows 7 32-bit HP laptop

Since the bluetooth device is not shown in Device Manager, this means either 1 or 2:

1. Bluetooth is disabled/turned off either by the bluetooth slider switch somewhere on one of the laptop's 4 sides, or there will be a key (usually top row) which has to pressed in combination with the 'Fn' key.

Or

2. The bluetooth adapter itself is faulty.

Make sure that you haven't turned it off by accident. Dear all!

I bought a laptop which didn't seem to contain the Bluetooth Device with it. Can I install any sofewares to add Bluetooth Device to my Laptop? If so, what must I do?

Where can I check whether the Bluetooth is equipped with my Laptop or not?

Sorry for being unaware of my knowledge about the Bluetooth here.

Thanks a lot and best wishes!

I am looking forward to hearing from all.

My Best Regards,

LUCK

A:Can I add Bluetooth Device into my Laptop?

If you tell us the make and model of it, we might be able to tell you wether it has or not.
If it doesn't have bluetooth, you can't "add" to it by softwares.

Not sure if this question has been answered elsewhere, but i'm wondering how i would be able to stream audio from my HP Mini Laptop to an LG Soundbar with bluetooth. I've gone through the steps to pair the two devices, and the process has been completed. On the soundbar it reads "paired" And my laptop says the same thing, however, when i try to play music through the soundbar, it only comes out of my laptop speakers. How do i solve this?
Answer as soon as possible please?
By the way, i don't know if it should make a difference, but i have Windows 7 Starter edition.

Does it even have bluetooth capability?  If so I would go to hp and search for your model and download the driver for it.  Unless you bought a card for that, in that case I would go to the manufacturer and download the driver from them.

Hi guys,

I've recently updated to Windows 10, but the bluetooth didn't seem to work properly. It doesn't seem to be able to detect any devices. Also, i couldn't even find the option 'allow devices to connect to this computer' in bluetooth settings. i've tried to reinstall the latest version of drivers but it didn't help. Could anyone kindly tell me what's wrong and how to fix it? Many thanks.

a few solutions - not in any order

Hi: Below is the link to the product specs page for your notebook. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-15-f200-Notebook-PC-(Touch)/7630399/model/8788164/document/c0... It does not come with built in bluetooth networking or that feature would have been listed along with the 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN wireless connectivity specification. The easiest thing to do would be to purchase an external usb bluetooth adapter in order to have bluetooth functionality. You may also be able to replace the wireless card with one that has bluetooth, listed in the service manual for your notebook. http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04763947 Make sure there are two antennas connected to the wireless card if you plan on replacing it.

Hi Friends,
I've a typical situation here:
1. A PC with Vista Ultimate installed and a Bluetooth dongle (Widcomm drivers) connected to a broadband internet via LAN card.
2. A laptop with Windows XP and bluetooth inbuilt.

Now I wish to share the internet connection of the desktop to the laptop over bluetooth. Is it possible?

One more issue I face in Vista is that when I try to enable the ICS for the internet connection, I get this error "An error occurred while Internet connection sharing was being enabled.
(null)" - Screen shot attached.

Can someone please help with this problem?

Thanks in advance!

A:Internet Sharing between PC & Laptop over Bluetooth

OK, here's another update:
I stumbled upon the Event viewer of the system and the log entry corresponding to the ICS error says:
"The ICS_IPV6 was unable to allocate bytes of memory. This may indicate that the system is low on virtual memory, or that the memory manager has encountered an internal error."

Yes that special character is there before the word 'bytes'!

Now it seems the problem is with the IPv6. My ISP surely doesn't provide anything on IPv6. So can I somehow remove it completely? I've already unchecked it from my network properties, but no use!

Have a dell Vostro 3550 w/windows 7 64 bit. Can I pair Bluetooth Speakers?

A:Bluetooth Pairing - Windows 7 Laptop

DUNCANMATHESON,
You should be able to pair the bluetooth speakers to your computer. Below are some links to help you get the speakers paired.
In Windows 7

Turn on your Bluetooth device and make it discoverable. The way you make it discoverable depends on the device. Check the device or visit the manufacturer's website to learn how.
Select the Start button

 > Devices and Printers.
Select Add a device > select the device > Next.
Follow any other instructions that might appear. Otherwise, you're done and connected.

Your Bluetooth device and PC will usually automatically connect anytime the two devices are in range of each other with Bluetooth turned on.

help me pls.
my laptop keyboard broke down a while ago, as of now, i don't have extra money for me to be able to replace it. now im using USB keyboard only, since my current keyboard doesn't have a fn key in it, i can't open the shortcut for the bluetooth using the keyboard.

1. is there any other way to open/enable it without using the keyboard?
2. i also can't see the BLUETOOTH device in the Device Manager, is that normal?

**i can use my bluetooth before my laptop broke down. and i saw in another forum that if you cant enable the bluetooth physically, the windows will not detect it but the forum is abt windows tablet so im not sure if it also applies with laptops.

I am trying to connect a Logtech wireless headset. I cannot find any settings for Bluetooth, or driver updates. On the bottom of the laptop I found the model number 15-1010wm. I tried connecting wth Control Panel>Devices and Printers, and the connect a device option. It found a phone, but not the headphones. In the summer I was looking in the settings and saw Bluetooth, either on my laptop or my siblings' (neither of them have Bluetooth options now). I have looked in Device Manager on mine and my siblings' laptop, and saw no Bluetooth. I have looked at multiple guides and none of them work. I know the headphones work because I connected them to my tablet.  Does anyone have any ideas or links to Bluetooth drivers that might help?

The bluetooth feature for my HP laptop [15-ac178nr] stopped working after Realtek RTL8723BE Bluetooth Driver for MS Windows update. Bluetooth device no longer appears within the device manager. This driver only appears within the list of Network Adapters as a "WiFi Adapter". I would typically roll back the driver but, that option is not selectable within the properties menu. Please advise.

Hi @A2Ruff, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I read your post about your HP 15-ac178nr Notebook not detecting the Bluetooth. I would uninstall the Reattek driver and restart the Notebook. Update the Bluetooth the driver from the Device Manager. Here is a link that shows you how to check that Bluetooth discovery settings are turned on and file sharing is also turned on. Please get back to me how this goes. If this post helps you to resolve the issue you can click the Thumbs up icon to show gratitude! Thanks.

A:Bluetooth COMPLETELY Missing from Win 10 Laptop

How did you disable BT; via the taskbar icon (do you have one?), Action Center (see screen shot) ? If you do not have a driver in the Device Manager, you won't have a Bluetooth listed in the Action Center.

You'll need to find out which driver came with the laptop. There are 3 Bluetoooth drivers for your model on this ASUS support page (more than likely, you have the later Qualcomm)-

Not much help, but I had to comment. How the heck did they get to install windows 8?

I was using an envy 15 at the time of the release of Windows 8. It just refused to accept an install, stopping halfway with an error . I tried every trick known and, in the end, HP advised that there was no solution and the laptop was incompatible!! I sold the machine finally.

Just curious.

Hi @Sid3296, I have read about your HP 15-ac122tu Notebook and Bluetooth not connecting to your phone. Here is a link that might help.  I would check to make sure Bluetooth is on. It shows you how to do that under Connecting Bluetooth. A device such as computer might need to have the Discovery setting turned on. To turn on Discovery in Windows 8, from the Start screen, type Change Bluetooth to open the Search charm, and then select Change Bluetooth settings from the search results.  Please let me know how this goes. This is a great question other customers may also be wondering about; please click the Accept as Solution if you feel this post has helped you, or could help others. Hello and welcome NoMoreLenovos mate I can sympathise with you because I use Blu tooth mice wherever I can.

So have you tried going to Notification Area Icons - bottom right taskbar and I keep the Blu tooth on the taskbar and if you click on it it will open a window that asks to Show Blu tooth devices click on that and it will open and show you what is available. When you click on any device it will ask you to do several things including troubleshoot - try that and let us know what is there and what happens.

A:Cant connect bluetooth headset to Windows 7 laptop..

But Im using a Dell D630 Laptop running Windows 7 Enterprise with the Dell 355 Bt adapter.

I've also had trouble getting it to connect. I used to have to force it to connect in XP. So I tried everything I can think of to force it in Win7 through the bluetooth settings dialog, and using the headset itself. Randomly it would work.

Eventually I found that if the headset is turned off, the computer rebooted, and the headset turned on, they just connect automatically without me doing anything. Which was great till something (like my cellphone) connected to the headset and then I couldn't get the headset to reconnect otthe laptop with out rebooting. Yuck!

Anyway this rebooting thing gave me an idea... What I do now, is right click on the bluetooth icon in the tray and turn off the bluetooth device in the computer. Then I power off the headset. Then I re-enable the bluetooth in the same menu. Lastly I power on the headset, and it pretty much works all the time - Though I had one time when it connected but I had no sound.

I love this headset with Win7 much better than with XP, the play pause, track forward/back even control WinAMP! It's cool!

Connecting used to be such a pain, I used to just load my music on my phone and listen from there. but now I can get my music, games, web audio etc. all ,mixed through the same headset. And it still switches to my phone when calls come in and returns to the computer when they're done. It's great!

I feel like I've finally got it working the way it's supposed to. Until today the only thing I found annoying was trying to switch Win7 back and forth between the BT headset and the built-in sound card. (I found this question while googling for that.)

I'd still like to find a sidebar gadget to switch that back and forth, but I found that right clicking the volume icon in the stem tray will allow you pop up the audio output device selection dialog directly (without drilling through start->control panel->etc.) It's not the best but it's usable.

I am looking for some assistance in getting my bluetooth feature to work on my current laptop. I made a frugal attempt to contact HP directly for support and was told (after a very frustrating and difficult conversation to understand with my support personnel) that because my product was out of warranty, they would not even DISCUSS my issue at hand. Considering this, I opted to hit the forums for advice.

The problem at hand is when trying to set the "Discovery" option which allows other devices to see my computer, I get the following error message:

"An error occured while windows was trying to save your settings. The bluetooth device might be unplugged."

My bluetooth device is onboard. I am suspecting a drive possibly, but cannot find any drivers online for this device. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

What bluetooth devices do you have that will be utilized with this laptop? What install discs do you have for these devices? Have you tried to connect them?
What relevant devices show up in the Device Manager?

I have a Toshiba M700 laptop, running Windows Vista ultimate.
It has an internal bluetooth adapter. The bluetooth manager software that installs along with the drivers from Toshiba's website sucks. It causes a lot of little annoying problems, some of which you can't get around at all.

For this reason, I wish to use a different bluetooth manager program.
I'm not sure if Vista really has a default program, but my other 2 computers that have bluetooth seem to use the same, less annoying, bluetooth manager program.

Sorry if I'm being ignorant, but I'm not well acquainted with bluetooth yet.

"Sorry if I'm being ignorant, but I'm not well acquainted with bluetooth yet"...

This may be the root cause of your Bluetooth problem...

"It causes a lot of little annoying problems, some of which you can't get around at all"...

Can you explain in a little more detail just what are the problems

Hello, first post, hopefully not the last post.

Anyway, the laptop I am using is an Acer Aspire 5251. The website said bluetooth is built in. So on to trying to connect: I go to "Add a Device" and search for Bluetooth devices while I turn on the searching mechanism on my NXT Lego brick. However, my laptop is unable to find it. I know the brick's bluetooth is working fine because it was able to connect to my iPod and even an outdated flip phone. To you NXT owners: what can I do? I will give additional information if inquired.

EDIT: I feel like this is the wrong sub-forum, so please inform me if it is.

A:Trying to connect a Lego NXT Brick to My Laptop via Bluetooth

Nah, the forum is fine, if needed the admins will move it.
Welcome to Seven Forums.
I'm not Bluetooth literate but I know in Device Manager it should show up in its own category or Human Interface Devices maybe. Does the brick have any install media with it? I don't know what that is either.

Slim Divers might help you find a driver for the Bluetooth device. Be aware that it sometimes is buggy and will show drivers for non-existent hardware.

A:link my laptop to PDA via Bluetooth to get access to GPRS

1) ensure your Phone has the ability to be paired to a computer with Bluetooth Dial Up Networking service.
2) ensure your laptop has bluetooth if not you have to buy an adapter make sure this adapter also supports Bluetooth Dial Up Networking service.
3) you need to pair the devices together.
4) you need to configure a DUN setting on your PC to use your phone essentially as a modem. This configuration really depends on a) the type of PDA/cell phone your using and b) who the service provider is.
