Viewing webpages via a network

Q: Viewing webpages via a network

Hi,

I have an iMac G5 and I want to be able to look at the same webpages (at the same time) as a person on a Windows PC in another room. Is this possible?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

problems viewing some webpages

Built PC [BPC1] & PC1 & PC2 & laptop [LP1]
OS: XPHome SP2
etrust internet security suite 2006
browser: CrazyBrowser [ crazybrowser.com ]
BPC1 uses Ethernet Cable to the router
PC1 & PC2 is wirelessly connected to same router.
laptop is not on same network.

no settings have been changed, happening for about 3-4 days now and it's really starting to bug me.

Some webpages are fine while others load really slow and when loaded, page view is really messed up. text properties are wrong, images don't show up & everything is in the wrong places. menu navigation is all over the place. it happenned before i started building BPC1.

some of the web pages that have problems. includes sub-pages also.
newegg.com
cnet.com
us.gamespot.com

These pages also have problems on PC1 & PC2.
all same security program

There are several websites that do not display correctly on my computer although the majority of them do. One of the ones that have the problem is this one: http://www.wave3.com/link/304219/interactive-radar

I've attached a screen clip of what my display looks like when I look at this webpage as well as a screenshot of Speccy showing my system specifications.
I've already reinstalled flash player and Java and even went so far as uninstalling and reinstalling IE 11 but I keep getting the same results. I also went so far is reinstalling Windows 7 but that didn't make any difference either.

This happens on several websites but not all of them, the one I attach is just a good example that's easy to access.

Any help is certainly appreciated

That site doesn't require Java but it does require Flash Player. Since you reinstalled Windows - assuming that you patched and updated all software I suggest taking a look at this post and have a look at information on changing DNS Lookup Provider. Especially if you've never changed from the default one provided by your ISP. If that's causing problems it would indeed persist after a fresh install of windows.

Hi-

This should probably be in the security forum. Anyways, I got my Dell 8600 yday with XP SP2. For a day or so I mooched off my neighbours wireless netwrok and things worked fine. I have covad DSL and so today I got a wireless G router and set it up. Then things went haywire...at first I could not get to any webpage at all. It turns out that I had some antivirus stuff running, I disabled it. Now I can to webpages such as google etc, but not my.yahoo.com and many others. There are others which takes ages to load.

I thought a nice laptop with a wireless connection should make things easy, but its hell now. Please help.

Thanks in advance

What's your MTU set to. 1496 is fine for some networks but, for example, AOL won't let you get away with more than 1400.

You may get more help and better advice on the networking forum.

I've seen this problem before but to be honest didn't always manage to sort it. Are you using IE 6? If so, you should be a ble to do a repair on IE, that worked most times for me.

I have a network at the office that has 15 computers on it all running Windows 7. Everything has been working fine but I have something very strange happening right now.

I am putting a new computer online and when I go to the network window only 7 of the computers show up and unfortunately the file server isn't one of them so I can't establish a connection to the shared files. All the othe computers in the network are showing the same thing in the network window. Since they already had maps to the shared folder they are still able to access files through that mapping.

We operate in a Windows 2003 Domain. We have over 200 workstations with twelve different locations. Each location is on a different subnet. (192.168.25.0, 192.168.10.0, etc.) EX. When I am using a server in our data farm, which is its own location and I am looking in My Network Places> Entire Network> It only shows the computers in that location. Same with all of my other locations, it only shows local computers. We have various models of netscreen firewalls. My question is, What are the specific ports that I need to enable between locations so that each office can see each other in the Entire Network. So When I am browsing our Data Farm in Nashville and I select Entire Network, I want to be able to see all of my computers in Florida offices and Alabama offices, and our other offices. I guess I need to explain today my teacher was abusing his network administrator privileges by using some program that allowed him to see what I had on This Odd network viewing an is one: Anti my computer screen on his computer He also has the power to stop all of my input like my mouse and almost all of the keyboard shortcuts I know At first I was impressed by this but then I said to him I ll bet you I can beat it He laughed and said This is an Odd one: Anti network viewing have fun with that so here I am First I need to know what this program is called because I d like to get one for my home network and Second is there any software out there that can block him from doing this again I already know about unplugging the CAT network cable but that screws A LOT OF STUFF up because we run almost everything through the network Oh and don t worry about if I need Admin privileges or not we figured out how to do that years ago nbsp

A:This is an Odd one: Anti network viewing

Getting access to the TCP/network traffic is one thing but seeing the screen and
controlling/watching the mouse is another. Yes there are programs like this but
the better ones cooperate with the user, not fight or 'spy upon' him/her.

Techspot does not condon or support these activities while your teacher has the
need and authority to perform as he/she wishes.

I'm preparing to set up my XBox to my W/LAN using a spare Belkin F5D7230-4 as an access point connecting to the Linksys WRT54G. The set-up will be something like this:

Cable - Cable Modem - WRT54G - PC

Laptop with built-in Wireless----

Xbox - Belkin F5D----

Belkin have supplied me with instructions on setting up the router as an access point, and mentioned needing to set it to an IP in the Linksys' Range.

Now, the Linksys defaults to 192.168.1.1, so can I set the Belkin to 192.168.1.254, or any 192.168.1.X?

Also, how can I see all the devices connecting to the network on one machine? For example, would I use the PC to see and identify the network devices: Router, Laptop, Belkin, etc., or would I use the Linksys' interface?

Thanks for any help, guys.

A:Viewing Network Items

You can log into the Linksys, and look at the DHCP logs. It will show you all of the active DHCP Leases. It won't show up any static IPs. You can try something like "[email protected] Network Monitor". I googled it, and it looks like it will scan you LAN for nodes.

Is there something in my setup which can be causing this?

I need some help. I was using a router for my network. I out grew my 4 port router so I connected a switch to the router and now I am unable to view my workgroup computers.
Here is the set up. Internet into router (wan port) then I have a single connection running from the router to the switch and then I have all of my computers plugged into the switch. No computers are hooked up to the router anymore. Why am I not able to see my workgroup computers? I am able to search for them and it will list their shared files but I cannot use My Network Places to view the shared documents. Please email me with any question or answers.

Thanks in advance.

I am connected to a network domain. When I go to My network places>Entire Network>Microsoft Windows Network>Domain I can see all networked computers when I am wired in but when I connect wirelessly I cannot. I use a "Wireless access point" connected to my firewall router. I have tried disabling the wireless firewall and assigning a static IP. I am logged into the domain but the only way to can view the other computers on the network is to connect through a wired connection. I'm thinking it has to be a setting in my Wireless router but I cannot figure it out.

Hello all I assume this is the right not Network In Places...or Viewing JPEG's place for this question I ve looked around and can t see any mention of this problem Basically I have a web site which I access using Network Places with Windows Viewing JPEG's In Network Places...or not XP SERVICE PACK On this pc just to muddy the water I can click on a jpeg in a folder in Network places and it opens in IE so I can see if it s what I want to use and I can copy the address etc It cannot be viewed as a thumbnail in Network places when given the chose of for instance thumbnails tiles icons etc Not a problem at this time However I have a friend with a similar set up and he cannot view jpegs while in Network places He gets whatever program he has set to view jpegs opening but with the message file cannot be viewed I have tried changing his default jpeg viewer to anything and everything he has on the pc with no success Network places does not give the user a choice to open with as in regular folder view so how can I get the jpegs to open while in network places I have spent days surfing the net and Viewing JPEG's In Network Places...or not microsoft sites trying to find out how to set a default IE view of jpegs in Network places and there is no answer that I can find anywhere If anyone on here can answer this question which has been bugging us for years now you will be able to sell the answer and retire there s a lot on the net with this same trouble IE does not appear to be the issue as I have had all versions since IE with the same problem I also had this problem on an older PC after initially finding I could open jpegs in network places and then for some reason one day it stopped doing it I am planning to get an answer before this pc does the same I am guessing if I were to remove all jpeg programs that can view pictures from the pc in questiion then Network places would revert to IE to open a jpeg But that s hardley practical and just a guess as I say I have posted questions on this site in the past and had great help to resolve unrelated issues and have told this friend I ll get the answer here for sure Thanks to all and anyone that can solve this enigma Fingers crossed in anticipation

A:Viewing JPEG's In Network Places...or not

Hi .

Well...I don't understand why a .jpeg or .jpg file...should be expected to open with IE, regardless of file location on a networked system.

I have a home network, I can view any file on my other system. If I open said file, the default program for opening it (assuming that my file settings are proper) will open it.

I don't believe that a graphics file of any sort...should have IE set as the default view/open choice. IE should be the choice for viewing .htm, etc. files...files which relate to Internet connection.

A graphics program of some kind should be the default program to view graphics images.

I guess that I don't understand what is going on with either system.

FWIW: I just connected to an .mpg file on my other system and double-clicked it. I was greeted with the "access denied" message indicating that I needed to designate a program to open said file. I selected WMP and the file opened, as it should have (WMP is my default program for viewing/opening .mpg files).

A:Viewing devices on my wifi network

Edit: I found Wireless Network Watcher - Show who is connected to your wireless network and it's almost what I'm looking for. Simple, small, no hassle. But it still doesn't show the device names of things like my iPod.

I'm fairly certain that it should be possible to see its name because a while back, my school sent out warnings to everyone that was connecting to their wifi saying that we had to stop because almost all the students were using it and it couldn't handle all that traffic. (A little while later they got smart and put a password on it) But I asked one of the people in charge how they knew who was on it, and they told me that most of the devices (including my iPod) had a device name that somehow identified the owner (In my case my iPod's device name was my full name so that was pretty obvious). So I'm sure there's got to be a way that I can see that info on my home network as well.

I was at a buddies house with my laptop, connected to his wireless internet connection and connected to his file sharing network. But whenever we tried to view other computer's shared files on the network the whole network would lose internet connection for a few moments and then would come back once we stopped viewing other computer's files.

I have no idea what would cause this or how to fix it. If anyone has any idea's it would be greatly appreciated because I will be moving here at the end of this month and would like to get this problem out of the way now.

When I'm networked to my laptop and I go to view, copy or open a file on the laptop from my desktop pc, it freezes for about 20 second before opening. It only does this every 3 or 4 attempts and not every time but when It happens it will lock up and i get the egg timer as if it's waiting for something to happen.

However this ony happens one way. When I view or open files on my desktop pc from the laptop I don't get this problem. Thing is I don't know what's causing it or which machine is at fault but I suspect it's the desktop pc because I'm also getting long delays when opening Internet Explorer window and the Network Icon in the system tray is showing no activity for about 20 seconds.

Can anyone shed a bit of light on this for me?

Fix for slow network browsing, Stop Browsing Scheduled Tasks.
Hold the Windows key and press R, then type regedit in the text box and click the OK button.

Once the Registry Editor has loaded, expand the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key.
Next, expand Software and Microsoft, then Windows and expand that as well.

You will want to be editing the main system files, so expand CurrentVersion, then Explorer key.

Next, you will want to modify the remote computer settings, so expand the RemoteComputer key and then expand the NameSpace key to show all of the features that are enabled when you browse to a remote computer.

In the NameSpace folder you will find two entries. One is "{2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D}" which tells Explorer to show printers shared on the remote machine. The other, "{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}," tells Explorer to show remote scheduled tasks. This is the one that you should delete. This will prevent the system from browsing the scheduled tasks on the remote computer which seems to take forever for some strange reason.

A:Preventing others on network from viewing my shared folders

It sounds to me like you do not want this student to be a part of your regular network at all.

Some routers "like mine" have a guest zone for a wireless connection that is outside your normal network. That would prevent them from seeing those folders. The set up and options for routers is different so it's difficult to give exact directions for this.

For a wired connection you may be able to set up a static IP address outside the normal range of your regular network for them to connect too.

After I have opened a network share i'll open a console and use the net view command to clear out my session.
When I open up the network view and attempt to re-open the previous network share, windows 7 will blue screen and reboot before I can see what it says. The error states something about hardware.
I have looked for the memory.dmp file but I don't think it is being written.

This sounds like a unique or new problem. Does anybody have an idea of what is going on?

Hi,
This is a strange one. I have an Acer netbook, Win7 Starter, which will access the internet fine, and which will view share folders on the LAN fine. But if I open up a share folder and view its contents in explorer, the machine will freeze within ten seconds.

Using ethernet, there is no problem.

I've updated drivers. Acer only had version 14, but the Intel site had version 16. This is an Intel N 100 wifi card.

I also swapped cards from another same model Acer, with no change.

The card's settings seem fine. File sharing is turned on on both machines. I'm not even framing the why's of this problem very well at this point.

It could also be that updating the routers firmware or using a different router could fix the problem as is described in the link but there are quite a few other possible causes and solutions in the link.

How fast is the network?

Practically speaking I think your solution is to break the network folders into subfolders with fewer files each. Or get faster network hardware.

Edit: depending on file type another way to speed up would be to disable thumbnails and use Details View.

QUOTE(Blade Zephon @ Apr 9 2010, 12:08 AM) Hello, and to the Malware Removal forum! My online alias is Blade Zephon, or Blade for short, and I will be assisting you with your malware issues! In the upper right hand corner of the topic you will see a button called Options. If you click on this in the drop-down menu you can choose Track this topic. By doing this and then choosing Immediate E-Mail notification and then clicking on Proceed you will be advised when we respond to your topic and facilitate the cleaning of your machine. Before we begin cleaning your machine, I'd like to lay out some guidelines for us to follow while we are working together.I will be assisting you with your malware issues. This may or may not resolve other problems you are having with your computer. If you are still having problems after your machine has been determined clean, I will be glad to direct you to the proper forum for assistance.Even if things appear better, that does not mean we are finished. Please continue to follow my instructions until I give you the all clean. Absence of symptoms does not mean that all the malware has been removed. If a piece of the infection is left, it can regenerate and reinfect your machine. Attention to detail is important! Since I cannot see or directly interact with your computer I am dependent on you to "be my eyes" and provide as much information as you can regarding the current state of your computer.I ask that you please refrain from running tools other than those I suggest to you while I am cleaning up your computer. The reason for this is so I know what is going on with the machine at any time. If you act independently it will cause changes to your system that I will not be aware of, which will make the process of cleaning the machine a much slower and more difficult process. Additionally, some programs can interfere with others and hamper the recovery process. Please perform all steps in the order received. If you are unsure or confused about any instructions I give you, you should ask me to clarify before doing anything. Additionally, if you run into any problems while carrying out instructions, you should STOP and reply back here explaining what happened. After 5 days if a topic is not replied to we assume it has been abandoned and it is closed. If you need additional time, that is perfectly alright; you just need to let us know beforehand. ***************************************************Please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine. Download Combofix from any of the links below but rename it to renamed.exe before saving it to your desktop.Link 1Link 2* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your DesktopVERY IMPORTANT: Disable all running antivirus, antimalware and firewall programs as they may interfere with the proper running of ComboFix. Click on this link to see a list of programs that should be disabled. NOTE: This list is not all-inclusive. If yours is not listed and you do not know how to disable it, please ask.Double click on renamed.exe & follow the prompts. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next replyA word of warning: Neither I nor sUBs are responsible for any damage you may have caused your machine by running ComboFix on your own. This tool is not a toy and not for everyday use.ComboFix SHOULD NOT be used unless requested by a forum helper ~BladeIn your next reply, please include the following:ComboFix LogI'm having trouble turning off Norton.

Greetings and Welcome to The Forums!!My name is Gringo and I'll be glad to help you with your malware problems.I have put together somethings for you to keep in mind while I am helping you to make things go easier and faster for both of usPlease do not run any tools unless instructed to do so.
We ask you to run different tools in a specific order to ensure the malware is completely removed from your machine, and running any additional tools may detect false positives, interfere with our tools, or cause unforeseen damage or system instability. Please do not attach logs or use code boxes, just copy and paste the text.
Due to the high volume of logs we receive it helps to receive everything in the same format, and code boxes make the logs very difficult to read. Also, attachments require us to download and open the reports when it is easier to just read the reports in your post. Please read every post completely before doing anything.
Pay special attention to the NOTE: lines, these entries identify an individual issue or important step in the cleanup process. Please provide feedback about your experience as we go.
A short statement describing how the computer is working helps us understand where to go next, for example: I am still getting redirected, the computer is running normally, etc. Please do not describe the computer as "the same", this requires the extra step of looking back at your previous post.NOTE: At the top of your post, click on the Watch Topic Button, select Immediate Notification, and click on Proceed. This will send you an e-mail as soon as I reply to your topic, allowing us to resolve the issue faster.NOTE: Backup any files that cannot be replaced. Removing malware can be unpredictable and this step can save a lot of heartaches if things don't go as planed. You can put them on a CD/DVD, external drive or a pen drive, anywhere except on the computer. NOTE: It is good practice to copy and paste the instructions into notepad and print them in case it is necessary for you to go offline during the cleanup process. To open notepad, navigate to Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > Notepad. Please remember to copy the entire post so you do not miss any instructions. These are the programs I would like you to run next, if you have any problems with these just skip it and run the next one.-Security Check-Download Security Check by screen317 from here.Save it to your Desktop.Double click SecurityCheck.exe and follow the onscreen instructions inside of the black box.A Notepad document should open automatically called checkup.txt; please post the contents of that document.-AdwCleaner-Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
Close all open programs and internet browsers.Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.Click on Delete.Confirm each time with Ok.Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart. Please post the content of that logfile with your next answer. You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.--RogueKiller-- Download & SAVE to your Desktop RogueKiller or from here
Quit all programs that you may have started. Please disconnect any USB or external drives from the computer before you run this scan! For Vista or Windows 7, right-click and select "Run as Administrator to start"For Windows XP, double-click to start. Wait until Prescan has finished ... Then Click on "Scan" button Wait until the Status box shows "Scan Finished"click on "delete" Wait until the Status box shows "Deleting Finished" Click on "Report" and copy/paste the content of the Notepad into your next reply. The log should be found in RKreport[1].txt on your DesktopExit/Close RogueKiller+Gringo

I have a computer I am working on for a friend. It has me stumped on this. I have installed, ccleaner, malewarebytes, and superantispyware and have ran them all and have updated them just fine. I can update windows fine. I just cannot surf the web. It is on 32 bit vista, home basic, 512 mb ram(so it runs slow) I also put portable fire fox on my thumb drive and it worked fine. It is just internet explorer on the computer its self. I am open to anything. Thanks.

For about the past week I have been having problems getting to alot of webpages. I ran hijack this and found I had Ads345. Well I got that removed along with some others, but now I still can not get to about 75% of the webpages I was able to. I keep getting server can not be found errors. I have tried all the fixes the page shows me. Still no luck. Anyone else have this problem or a fix for this. Thanks in advance.

I also tried to download WinsockFix but it won't even let me get there. It is driving me insane.

When I select a webpage it often happens that it won't load for a long time. I then close the window and select it again and than it loads immediately.
It happens on my i7 desktop connected by a cable, HP i3 laptop and on my Samsung tab2 tablet via wifi.

I have a fast cable internet connection.

Does anyone have an idea where to look for a solution?

What you have to do is install all of the special drivers for the computer, they are the chipset drivers, the buss drivers, video drivers, audio, network and other drivers that have to be installed. These drivers come on a special drivers disk that should have came with the computer, if you do not have this disk they can be downloaded from either the computer manufacturers web site or the motherboard manufacturers web site. Burn them to a CD-ROM disk and run them from it.

I need help with my laptop. It will connect to the internet via dial-up ( a headache in itself) but it will not load webpages. I continue to get the generic white error page. I have another computer the connects and browses the internet fine. I have read many blogs relating to this issue and made several attampts to resolve this problem, but still can't get anywhere. I am running Vista Home. Here's what I've tried thus far. Turned off firewall - antivirus - Checked network settings, reseted internet settings , sfc scannow , reset ip, checked for any conflicts in the device manager , and most recently I tried re-installed vista as an ugrade hoping if I had any corrupted items affecting my IE it would get fixed. Please help me!! I am driving myself insane crazy over this matter. Strangely enough I can ping all websites just fine. I am looking for any solutions someone might have.

Thank you
ER

A:Need help with webpages not loading

I continue to get the generic white error page.

And what generic white error do you get?
Does it say "host not found" ? At the bottom of the browser does it say
"looking up ..." whatever and that msg hangs there?

Could be you have no DNS service.
When connected open a command prompt and type
nslookup microsoft.com
and hit Enter

you should get some error about DNS.

Hi there,

I have no sounds in webpages (i.e.: youtube, myspace, any streaming videos online, background midi, etc...)

OS: Windows Vista Home Basic
Browser: IE7, Firefox (both are affected)

I am able to hear sound when playing DVD's, CD's, media files on my computer.

I was able to hear sounds until I upgraded quicktime with some software I bought. I have since uninstalled quicktime but this has not fixed the issue.

I have:
Reinstalled my sound card
Checked that the "play sounds in webpages" box is checked in IE7 Tools: Advanced menu
Checked all of my settings in IE, Firefox and Media Player

I do not get any error messages, the video plays but not the sound.

Any ideas? I am getting super frustrated with this problem.

Hello and Welcome. Please subscribe to this thread to get immediate notification of replies as soon as they are posted. To do this click Thread Tools, then click Subscribe to this Thread. Make sure it is set to Instant Notification, then click Subscribe.

Before beginning the fix, read this post completely. If there's anything that you do not understand, kindly ask your questions before proceeding. Ensure that there aren't any opened browsers when you are carrying out the procedures below. Save the following instructions in Notepad as this webpage would not be available when you're carrying out the fix.

It is IMPORTANT that you don't miss a step & perform everything in the correct order/sequence.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Part of your problem stems from the fact that you have an unpatched version of Windows. Why is this? Performing Windows Updates is a very critical part of any computer user's maintenance. We'll address this during the course of this fix.

Additionally, you have more than one AntiVirus program installed, AVG and Norton. While this may seem like greater protection, it can cause problems including slowdowns and system hangs. Choose one to keep and uninstall the other.

Any antivirus program must be removed via add/remove program.
For any program that doesn't have an add/remove entry, you will have to do this:re-install the program -> reboot -> uninstall---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Download combofix from one of these locations:http://www.techsupportforum.com/sect...s/ComboFix.exe
http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe

* IMPORTANT !!! Place it on your Desktop.

Click the Windows 'Start' button > Select 'Run' - then copy/paste this into the run box & click OK
"%userprofile%\desktop\combofix.exe" /v h32ime ljgdcd
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply.

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open HijackThis and click on 'Do a System Scan Only'. Check the following entries if they exist (make sure you do not miss any) and click Fix Checked

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bikini] bikini.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [2chkdsk] rundll32.exe "C:\WINDOWS\ljgdcd.dll",setvm
O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

Close HijackThis now.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Go to My Computer->Tools->Folder Options->View tab:
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Also make sure there is no checkmark beside Hide file extensions for known file types
* Click Yes to confirm and then click OK.

Delete the following if they exist:

C:\Windows\System32\bikini.exe

If it resists deletion, boot to safe mode and delete from there. To boot into safe mode should you need to, follow these steps:

Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Login on your usual account.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right click on this link http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf and choose Save As. Save it to your desktop. Right click on that file and choose Install. It will run immediately (you won't be able to see... Read more

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas! I've just gotten myself a new laptop, and it's perfect except for the fact that many webpages don't fit inside the screen and I have to scroll horizontally to see the sides.

I really hope theres a way around this, does anybody know any way of fixing it so that the webpages are shrinked so they don't go outside the screen/

Thanks!

Hello,

When i save a webpage in chrome,it gives two options
1. save as html only which just gives the text.
2.complete webpage.which is what i really want because i need to see the images.Biggest problem with this is they save as 2 seperate files which is not good.

So any one have any good options.i have tried single file extension but it will not save for me.

What i need to do is save webpages with images and the transfer to my iphone to study later when i have no internet connection.

This problem is making me fall behind with my studies.I can save the necessary pages at night and can study in my free time during the day,

I hope some one can really help with this.

Thanks.

A:Saving webpages

I don't know much about Chrome but I believe you can get the Yahoo Toolbar and use their bookmarks.

Some webpages are not loading for a day. I'm using just about every browser like Maxthon, Mozzila Firefox,
Chrome and opera and Internet Explorer and the problem appears again. Sometimes is fixed via pc restart only.
Why is happening and what should i do? I'm also trying to clean the browser cache but not always fixed. Is it
something wrong with my pc? Is very annoying problem.

A:Webpages not loading

How about flushing the DNS resolver cache?

Win + X, choose Command Prompt (Admin) type in > ipconfig /flushdns < and press Enter. It should say "Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver cache."

Now, load some pages which aren't loading before this.

Hello,

I am using Chrome on windows 7 machine.
If i right click and save as webpage complete option.I get htm file and also a folder with everything else.

All i want is to view a webpage and download it as i see it in one file, not a file and folder.

Is this possible to do?

A:WebPages Download

Save it as a "web archive, single file" and you will only get the file (no folder).  File extension .mht.

Hi I'm running the lastest version of Windows Vista Home Premium and I'm using the latest version of Firefox I am currently having what seems to be a pretty obscure problem Earlier today Cannot load webpages certain out of nowhere I started having problems loading certain webpages These Cannot load certain webpages pages will not load at all For example the main page of google does not work but the firefox default homepage google quicksearch bar does I am certain that it is not a server based problem because I can access these websites no problem from a different machine This problem does not seem to be linked to the browser because both Internet Explorer and Opera are also unable to load the same pages I tried disabling windows defender as well as the default windows firewall but to no effect Running firefox in safemode also had no effect furthering my suspicions that the problem is not browser based but some problem with a corrupt OS file After trying pretty much everything within my power I decided to just bite the bullet and try a system restore from three days back I actually haven't been having this problem since before today to see if it might fix the problem No dice and instead windows decided to just plain stop booting and I had to do a repair procedure with the windows vista CD to repair a file called quot NETIO SYS quot with the file status quot xc f quot just to be able to boot to Vista again After the repair windows was working again and after a websearch for this NETIO SYS system file and problems related I found some people having the same problem Apparently it might have something to do with windows defender screwing up files related to accessing certain internet pages when it tries to remove a piece of malicious software I did in fact have windows defender try to remove a Trojan last night before I was having this problem so this seems to me to be the best guess as to what is going on

A:Cannot load certain webpages

Well...nevermind.

After 6 straight hours of trying to fix the problem.

...6... hours.

The problem seems to have just now as I posted this, magically resolved itself, just like it magically broke itself.

You guys are even better than I thought. You seemed to have fixed the problem without even telling me what to do.

It would be good if the software is free and is not too heavy on my computer. Any advice given will be much appreciated.Thank you, Aaron M

The way Microsoft Security Essentials has been described is that it would do this, I'm not 100% sure.

I recently had my computer formatted. I am in the process of getting everything set up and have noticed that some web pages don't display properly. Some pages are ok and display normally and some don't. The whole web page is displayed but it's smaller and has a 2 inch blank gap on either side of the page. Vertically it's normal but the gaps on each side are really bothering me.

I don't know if this is a display problem with my monitor or some web setting I need to change. Any help is appreciated!

Thanks.

Any ideas or solutions?

A:Webpages not displaying

I forgot to mention the error in detail it is as follows,

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

What you can try:
Diagnose Connection Problems

More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

Internet connectivity has been lost.
The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
To view subscribed feeds

Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)

Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.

I recently bought a new laptop.
From yesterday on, I could not connect to certain webpages. I can only connect to Facebook, youtube and some other pages.
When I try to go on other pages it says "connection timed out". I tried switching from chrome to IE but this didn't change anything.
It's not a network problem either since other devices in my house can connect to all pages.
Any help???

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but I'll post here anyway.

All of my browsers have the same problem, so I'm thinking it is either a missing plugin of some sorts, or it has to do with my computer's connection to the internet.

As stated in the topic, my browser will only load a few different web pages (I get the "Problem loading page" :connection to the server was reset while the page was loading)

Some pages that give the error screen are: YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Xbox.com, Microsoft.com

But I can load Yahoo.com, Hulu.com, Google

There are most likely more in both loadable and non-loadable, but I put some of the popular ones.

Maybe there is an update to Java or another program that I missed?

Have you tried resetting your router?

I had a browser hijack problem, and ran Spybot and HijackThis. After cleaning out the suspect files, I am having a problem accessing web pages through IE, even though the homepage loads just fine. I also have no problem accessing the internet through AOL.I can however, access all web pages through IE if I enter the full address, ie http://www.yahoo.com, but if I enter just www.yahoo.com, the URL is modified to c:\DocumentsandSettings\Desktop\www.yahoo.com, which of course it cannot find, and generated a "Cannot find server- The Page cannot be displayed" message.I tried several of the suugestions , including removing the "hosts file", but none of them helped.Any ideas on how to fix this?Sanjoy

A:IE6 problem getting webpages

Your default prefix has probably been modified by some malware. Do the following:Create a directory on your hardrive, to save HijackThis.exe, called c:\hijackthis. This is a mandatory step, for the backup and restore functions, of HijackThis, to be able to work.Download the latest version, from here.Read the pinned post in the HJT forum, hereThen, run a log, and post it in the HJT forum. Do not fix anything, yet.A member, of the HJT Team, will help you out. Please, be patient, these people are volunteers. They will help you out, as soon as possible.

I am not computer savvy at all. Sorry I know that makes this more difficult.

My desktop will not display webpages, the err_connection_has_timed_out message appears(most of the time). Sometimes there is the oddchance that it will pull up youtube.com but no videos will load. I've tried following along with others problems in different forums but I get lost and what works for them doesn't seem to work for me. It is connected through wireless but it the icon and from all accounts says it is connected to the internet. My laptop works just fine using the same connection. Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

It looks like i have the same problem as many other people with certain webpages not loading. I have tried various suggestions on different forums but still certain sites refuse to load. These include myspace, facebook the national lottery and various others. I was also having a problem with ebay but this seemed to improve after using winsoxfix. I have tried to access these sites in safe mode to no avail. Also i dont know if its related but my daughter has been unable to log into her laptop as her pc keeps telling her the password is incorrect. This is connected via a router to my pc along with my other daughters pc which works but also cannot access the same websites. Any advice much appreciated.
