I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi So recently I have removed a nasty zeroaccess rootkit virus es from my laptop My Windows Firewall Defender and Updates would not work still won't my browser kept redirecting to unrelated websites and I was just overall having a TON of irritating issues I installed MalwareBytes and Zone Alarm in addition to my Microsoft Security Essentials and restarted my computer once - everything seemed fine I went to delete a few programs from my computer via the control panel just unneeded things like Canon software I don't even use anymore My computer told me I needed to restart so I did and when connection wireless driver adapter network Problems with and network it turned back on I suddenly had no more Internet access It registers that my Internet providers are being picked up on as in it says Silver Moose is emitting a signal yet I have quot limited access Problems with wireless network adapter and network connection driver quot and all other devices using the network in my home are working just fine I tried troubleshooting and it says that there Problems with wireless network adapter and network connection driver are problems with the wireless Problems with wireless network adapter and network connection driver network adapter and the driver for wireless network connection adapter I've read that removing a access will render someone Internet-less but some people have overcome this However every thread I've already taken a look at don't exactly fit with my problems computer model so I wanted to stay on the safe side and get help fitted exactly to me I have Windows bit a Gateway model NV I don't know if my processor Intel R Core details are needed If so I'll gladly provide them I ran ipconfig all and was about to transfer a copy of it from my messed up computer to this one via a flash drive but suddenly I've found that my computer doesn't recognize a flash drive at all anymore So it's very very messed up indeed I would REALLY like to know what I can do to try and make this situation better or if a system restore is the best option I don't know how to use system restore or what it all does so if you do recommend that can you please offer and explanation of the options it'll give me Will it give a time period I want to backtrack to I feel really helpless here so thanks a ton for any and all help

A:Problems with wireless network adapter and network connection driver

First with this remove Zone alarm, while it use to be a great product, it cause more issues than it's worth these days.
Next, Start menu-> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on command prompt and run as Administrator.

Type in netsh winsock reset and reboot, see if the combination of these will help.

Otherwise, system restore is very simple to use and will only affect programs installed, not your personal files. If this doesn't solve the issue pick a time before the rootkit, a couple weeks if possible, and just restore it. You can scroll through all the date to make note of any changes that will be made. Make sure to re-install your AV and Malwarebytes afterwards to keep you protected.

Also, I do not work for Malwarebytes, but $29 for a lifetime license and an active protection module is absolutely worth it.

I recently moved into my new place, with no convenient place to put my computer using a wire to my router. (Orange live box)
So I decided to buy a "Belkin: N Wireless USB Network Adapter"
I can't seem to get it to connect.

Anyone got any advice on how to connect this device, i'm not sure wether or not it is my router or belkin that is being a pain in the bum.

A:wireless network connection doesn't have a valid ip

Are you able to get a successful connection via ethernet?

If you have McAfee see the sticky thread at the top of this forum.

Disable encryption on your router and try to connect. If successful you can probably re-enable encryption and reconnect.

A:Wireless Network Connection Doesn't Have Valid IP Configuration

From what I can see in the ipconfig you are showing incorrect DNS server IP's for the wireless connection.

It also doesn't show the manufacture of the wireless adaptor so something isn't right with the adaptor that is showing up under Microsoft Virtual WiFi miniport which should only be used for sharing a wireless connection. In fact it almost looks like you are trying to share a connection here or something. Nothing with this connection is right.

A:Wireless Network Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration

Hi BlitzGreek, welcome to the forums

My next door neighbour had the same issues but it turned out to be a fault with the router. You could try 1 thing...Turn the router off, press and hold the reset button (found on the back of the router) for 5-10 seconds then power on again.

   Note
This will completely reset the router to factory settings without reverting to previous firmware. It can take up to 2 minutes for the connection to be fully restored.

   Information
ISP's tend to send router updates up the line but this can cause connectivity issues

Hope it helps

Yesterday, I installed Windows 7 Home Premium as an upgrade to Vista Home Premium. I followed instructions carefully and everything went well...or so I thought...until I tried to get online (via Linksys Wireless N Router which has always been able to communicate with a Linksy Wireless N Broadband Router in the same room). Until, now, that is. When trying to get online, I get the message, "Wireless Network Connection Doesn't Have Valid IP Configuration."

I'm not a techie, so trying to understand the postings for this problem was difficult for me, if not impossible.

Would it be best for me to contact Microsoft Support? Help! I have to use my wife's computer to get online and I'm running the risk of being thrown out of the house.Local Area Connection" Doesn't have a valid ip config

I have tried several solutions from the Internet however still have no access. We have other devices connected to the wifi, but my Dell Lptop will not. I have posted the results of "/ipconfig"
Because I think that is what you need to see to diagnose this issue.

Some of you may know i had issues with changing my mac address and all. I finally fixed and it worked for a day until out of no where my wifi connection crashes and when i trouble shoot it says "wireless network connection doesnt have a valid ip configuration"... I have tried some fixes but none of them worked.

It might be related to what i did yesterday, what i did is setting ipv4 and ipv6 from my wirelesss adapter to auto set and it worked flawless for a day.... I have no idea what was set before that but im at this point where im about to just format the laptop

A:wireless network connection doesnt have a valid ip configuration

So i formatted my computer and it still gives me that. Its weird because if it was mac address filtering im pretty sure it wouldnt say that it would say problem with router

First, connecting to someone else's wifi is both illegal and makes you vulnerable to malware.

If it is secured and yours you should know the logon, if you dont it not yours to use.

Please run the following and upload snapshots of the output

start>cmd>right click and run as admin>ipconfig /all

A:wireless network connection doesn't have a valid ip configuration

The ipconfig looks mostly ok to me although it appears that you have a DNS of 4.2.2.2 typed into the IPv4 settings window, it might be best to remove that entry from IPv4 and then type the DNS servers you want to use into your routers set up page instead, where ever it says DNS servers type in the two you want to use for example Google's DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 .

In the Network and Sharing Center> Manage Wireless Connections, the profile for this connection should be using WPA2 with AES encryption, the same settings should be showing up in your routers set up page. After that please post the ipconfig/all again. If you can check that out first it would be most helpful.

Hello all. I'm running Windows 7 professional on an HP 4320s probook. I recently uninstalled some of the HP programs because I never used them (sorry can't remember which) and now I cant connect to the internet. I get the error message in the thread's title.
I've tried ipconfig/release and the fix that has netsh ip textlog in it and i've also disabled the IP helper. None of these have worked. I looked for webroot in services.msc but couldnt find it so i don't think that's the problem either.
Any ideas?

I am connected to the network, but the network is just listed as an un-identifed network with no internet acces.
Would really appreciate the help! Thanks

Hi,

For several days my wireless connection has been connecting and disconnecting. Today I tried connecting to wireless and cannot actively see any wireless networks available. My wireless switch is on and is showing a blue light and Network Adapters in Device Manager show no warnings however when I run diagnose in Network Sharing Centre it tells me that Network Adapter "Wireless Networks Connection" is not connected.

The Wireless Router is fine and another laptop and iPad seem to have no problems connecting to it please could you advise?

I am running Windows Vista on a Vaio VGN FE41S

A:Network Adapter "Wireless Network Connection" Problem for VGN FE41S

would you post the following tests when the internet is working OK, and then repeat ALL the tests when the internet disconnects.
Make sure you also indicate on the reply which tests are for what condition.
please include the xirrus screen shots for both conditions - see how below.

Please post back here the make and exact model of the router and if you have a separate modem, the make and exact model of the modem.

What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, Mcafee , AVG etc

------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post the results in a reply here.
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and paste here.

We would like to see the results from an ipconfig /all - post back the results in a reply here.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt box

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

all the text will now be highlighted

Now go back to the forum - goto the reply and then right click in the reply box and paste the results.
The results from the notepad should now appear in the forum reply.

Hi. I use my PS3 controller to play games. I had it hooked up to play a game and then my PC froze. This caused a physical memory dump. After this my wireless network card would see my network but would not connect to it. I can connect to it wired, and other computers in the house can connect to it wirelessly, but this computer refuses to do so. I have checked the device manager and there are no exclamation points. I have also checked to be sure the device is not disabled and it is not. I have also reset the router several times as well as rebooting and shutting down the PC. I have been using the wireless connection for about 8 months now so I don't understand why it isn't working now. Please let me know any info you need from me to get this working again. Thanks.

Also, i've read online that the f12 button that looks like the signal tower should not have the yellow/orange light. I've tried turning it off but its not working. Pls help. Thanks in advance!

A:drivers for the wireless network connection 2 adapter

first of all relax

I doubt AVG would mess up your connection. . Assuming you are using Windows 7. Try these:
- Goto control panel, then open network and connection sharing, on the left panel click on change adapter settings. Then right click on your local area connection and disable it. Then re-enable it. Do the same with the wireless connection.

- If that doesn't get you online, then right click on My Computer, click Properties, on the left panel, click on open device manager. In device manager, find "network adapters", you will probably have two listed. Right click on each one and click uninstall. Then restart your computer.

Hope that helps

A:Problem with wireless adapter network connection.

I assume the router is connected to the modem and both modem and router are set to DHCP- Auto Config?

First try:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
ipconfig /flushdns

If not work, try do the same but connected directly to the router via ethernet.

Finally check in the MAC Address Clone tab, to see if the option is enabled.

Note: you access the router page via IE http://192.168.1.1

Hello everyone As wireless the Problem the driver with adapter network for connection you can see today when I got on my laptop I wasn't able to connect to the Internet and after attempting to troubleshoot I got this error message along with one saying a network cable is not properly plugged in or is broken We recently switched Internet service providers and the Internet has been Problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter running fine The only proble I had was Problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter sometimes it would randomly drop in speed but I don't think that has anything to do with the issue Last night it was working perfectly but then it went slow so I unplugged our router and then disabled the wireless network then reeanbled it Anyways I've been using this network for a few months now without issues but I think the issue lies within my computer I checked for windows updates and installed them but no luck Then I checked for driver updates for my adapters but they were up to date I don't have any screenshots and I'm on a tablet Also please use the simplest terms possible because while I have a basic understanding of these things I'm no expert and I don't want to miss anything Also I have Nortan Antivirus and it hasn't given me any problems Thanks

Hi there,
I am having trouble connecting to the internet from my laptop via a D-Link wireless ADSL router.

This is a new problem on a laptop that has been used on this wireless network many times - very strange?

When i click "repair" it seems to hang at the point of acquiring my IP address.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I just bought a Zonet ZEW P Wireless USB Adpater Mbps from newegg com and the connections I get is capped at Mbps and I read some of the reviews and someone said they installed a windows driver Adapter, capped at Network Wireless need 54Mbps Connection with 11Mbps a help... and was runnin at Mbps Also they were talking about some Windows Xp Wireless zero Configuration service for WPA encryption What is that exactly do I need it Im not connecting to my own wireless network just to whatever is around my area I Wireless Network Connection capped at 11Mbps with a 54Mbps Adapter, need help... usually get the encrypted secure ones and some unsecure ones that I can actually use but Wireless Network Connection capped at 11Mbps with a 54Mbps Adapter, need help... the signal drops very low most of the time with those ones and I can t stay connected Do I need to download the Ralink driver that one of the reviewers mention to get connected to the secure conenctions What is WPA and WEP and whats the diffrence Heres the reviews from newegg I was talking about This part is a bit long but just read the bold print if your too lazy Very good reception ultra-compact size for desktop easy to The ZEW P is a unique G USB wireless adapter in that it is marketed as a quot desktop version quot It is about the size of five or six stacked credit cards so I suppose it will fit even the tiniest of desktops Most likely it is just a USB pen-style adapter in a different style case That being said it does perform well It consistantly maintains a Mbps connection and a signal from about feet It comes with a ft long USB cable so it is pretty easy to move around The software driver works well but the provided quot monitor quot utility is sorely lacking You ll need to use Windows XP wireless zero configuration service for configuration if you want to use WPA encryption - because Zonet s utility does not directly support WPA even though the box lists WPA If you plan to use this adapter under Windows K SE or ME - you won t be able to use WPA with the provided software - only WEP However the manufacturer of the chipset Ralink used in this adapter publishes it s own updated driver and utility software This updated software will support WPA directly on all windows operatings systems and the utility is slightly nicer overall This updated software is not yet available directly from Zonet - download the chipset software directly from Ralink In summary this is a great little wireless USB adapter - so long as you use Windows XP wireless zero configuration or update the driver and utility to the lastest provided by the chipset manufacturer No problems whatsoever This is the first wireless adaptor I ve ever owned and so far it s worked perfectly I installed the drivers restarted computer plugged in the adaptor it automatically found and connected to the network in just a few seconds after startup and I was ready to go In case you are wondering it is backwards compatible with USB and will automatically switch from b to g depending on what network it connects to this may be obvious to you but this is the first time I ve had a wireless system so it surprised me that it did it automatically Like some people have said the included configuration tool is a little too bare-bones and you re probably better off using Window s Wireless Zero program I noticed that my roomate s Linksys adaptor can identify more networks in the neighborhood so it may not have as good an antennae as the competition In either case it still registers as having quot excellent signal strength quot to my own network Highly recommended Good but no WPA in Windows I did not buy mine from Newegg The adapter has good range but not spectacular However it has no WPA for Windows and Zonet Tech Support told me they will not update software Just so you know if WPA is crucial to your w k Works well under Linux rt sourceforge net Bought one of these after giving up in frustration with a g PCI card This adapter worked immedi... Hi Tech support,

I've recently installed Windows Vista x64 on my machine and used my motherboards built-in wireless connection to connect to my flat's wireless router. Everything worked fine until I noticed that whenever I remove a USB device from my front panel (USB Stick, MP3 Player) the wireless suddenly loses it's connection with the router, and the only thing I've found to fix things is a restart of my PC.
I also have a Laptop running a 32-bit version of Vista, and after trying it there it seems to have exactly the same problem.
Any ideas what's causing this, or better still how to fix it?

I am having the same problem for all my 5 computers.
They all have the same specs except for hard drive / disc drives and graphics card.

My temporary fix:
GUI:
Start Orb > Control Panel > View network status and tasks > Manage network connections > Select "Wireless Network Connection" > Disable this network device > Enable this network device

Command Line:

Code:
netsh interface set interface "Wireless Network Connection" DISABLE
netsh interface set interface "Wireless Network Connection" ENABLE
It's still not the solution to the problem, but it works when I need it. It does get annoying when I have to use USB devices and the Internet at the same time, though. This is why I want a solution to this problem.

I have an acer aspire 4530 using windows 7 and from a week ago Im having problems with the Atheros AR5B91 Wireles Network Adapter. It detects my network with an average signal, but when I try to connect, an error message is displayed saying that It was unable to connect. I tried almost everything: reinstalled the adapter, updated to the newest driver from: http://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=28&system=5
I can connect to the network via ethernet cable; and also I have another laptop and it gets connected to the same network via wifi without problem. Im starting to think it could be a hardware issue, but it that were true I think the computer wouldnt detect the wireless adapter.
If someone could help me I would aprecciate it.
BTW: forgive my english.

A:"Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

i have moved to networking - can we see a device manager and ipconfig /all
what security suite - firewall is on the system , often they come with a timetrail version of norton, mcafee etc

also try safemode with networking

see below
------------------------------------------------------------------------
ipconfig /all
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all post back the results in a reply here

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt box (A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt

It will export the results to notepad and then automatically open notepad.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results to a reply here
to do that:
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Select all
all the text will be highlighted
Next
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Copy
Now go back to the forum - reply and then right click in the reply box and paste
------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Device Manager
Post back the results in device manager
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to copy the program across to the faulty PC
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and paste here.

windows key and pause Key should open to allow device manager to be seen on laptops may need to use windows key + FN key + Pause Key
if not then

Start > control Panel {Vista set to classic view}> system > {Vista, device manager on left hand side} {XP hardware Tab, device manager button} >
windows 7
start > control panel> System and Security> Device Manager

network adaptors, click on the + > post back the devices listed there
are there any ! ? or X
post a screen shot of the device manager - network adapters

To post a screen shot of the active window, hold the Alt key and press the PrtScn key. Open the Windows PAINT application and Paste the screen shot. You can then use PAINT to trim to suit, and save it as a JPG format file.
To upload it to the forum, open the full reply window and use the Manage Attachments button to upload it here
Full details are here http://library.techguy.org/wiki/TSG_Posting_a_Screenshot
------------------------------------------------------------------------

- try safemode with networking
as the PC starts keep tapping F8 - a menu appears - choose
safemode with networking - see if that works

hello all,

my internet has previously worked without any problems. two days ago, it said i was connected with limited connectivity. i tried disabling/enabling my wireless, unplugging the wireless router, and running troubleshoot. the computer said that my wireless network connection doesnt have a valid IP configuration. neither of my roomates had this issue (they can still get to the internet fine). i was worried that it was something with my internet, so i went to a friends house and it worked there. i then ran system restore to a period when internet worked, thinking it could have been a bad update, but still no change. i went into my IP address configuration, and it is all set to automatically find. not sure where to go from here. any help?

i have an asus computer, windows 7 ultimate (32bit).

A:"Wireless network connection" doesnt have a valid IP configuration...

If you can type ipconfig/all into an Elevated Command Prompt then post a screen shot of the results it would be very helpful.

It sounds like the wireless profile for your home connection was somehow corrupted or changed.

You can usually straighten that out by going into the Wireless Connection Manager in the Network and Sharing Center and making sure that the settings match the ones in your router.

The Bonjour service which installs with iTunes and Adobe Photo shop is also famous for causing this problem.

To fix ...
Run MsConfig

Under the Services tab uncheck the service called "##Id_String1.6844[... and then a bunch of numbers]" by Apple

Reboot and problem solved

To delete the Bonjour service.
1. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Bonjour
2. Rename the mdnsNSP.dll file in that folder to mdnsNSP.old
3. Restart your computer
4. Delete the Program Files\Bonjour folder

I'm running windows 7 on an HP Pavilion dm4 and I've been trying to connect to the internet and whenever I troubleshoot it gives me the error "Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration. I've tried restoring to before the problem came up and ive also tried ipconfig/release, ipconfig/renew and the netsh int ip c:resetlog.txt commands and it still wouldn't work. I can't connect to the internet at all with that computer, even using an ethernet cable, so I can't run a fix for the problem. Any clue how I could fix this?

A few things to try
does it work if connected by cable

What firewall / security suite or anti-virus do you currently have on the PC - or you have ever had on the PC in the past - any trial ware - like Norton, kaspersky or Mcafee or any free security suites like zonealarm, AVG , Webroot etc

try doing a tcp/ip reset - see how below ( as you cant post the results, let me know about any errors)

can we see an ipconfig /all

------------------------------------------------------------------------
ipconfig /all

If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post the results in a reply here.
Save the file to a USB flash drive or other removable media. Plug it into the working computer with internet access and copy the file and paste here.

If you do not have another PC - do you have a phone connected to the internet - can you photograph the result and post the image in a reply
Note: you will see entries named Tunnel adapter Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface: we dont need to see that information - JUST the infomation above those entries

We would like to see the results from an ipconfig /all - post back the results in a reply here.

For Windows 8
To open a Cmd Prompt or an Administrator Cmd prompt from the Desktop. Use Win + X and choose Command Prompt or Command Prompt (Admin) from the list.
For windows version, XP, Vista, W7
Hold the Windows key and press R

Now type CMD

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt
It will export the results into notepad and then automatically open the notepad and display on your screen.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results into a reply here
to do that:
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Select all
all the text will now be highlighted
Next
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Copy

Now go back to the forum - goto the reply and then right click in the reply box and paste the results.
The results from the notepad should now appear in the forum reply.

A:"wireless network connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

Hello mystic, and welcome to Sevenforums!

First, do you have the latest driver installed for it? I don't know what version of windows you have so here is the general link to the drivers: Samsung - you will need the wireless driver(s). Uninstall your current wireless driver before installing the new one, which means you will need to download the new one first or use a LAN cable to have an internet connection to download the driver.

Here is an internet troubleshooting guide you might be able to use: Internet Troubleshooting Guide

However, it sounds like this computer works at home, just not at the hospitol, so it may be some kind of incompatability or any number of reasons. Make sure you have all windows updates installed as that can sometimes help such issues.

the laptop I am typing this from wi-fi works, I have a Gateway MX6920 that originally had Windows XP on it, I wiped that and installed Windows 7. and have very few installed programs on it. Openoffice, firefox, teamviewer, Gimp, and a steam game is all that's on it (and an Antivirus) but it will no longer connect to my wi-fi, it used to but now doesn't. I have 'limited access' and the troubleshooter says "Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration. how do I fix?

A:"Wireless Network Connection" doesn't have a valid IP configuration

So, are you saying when running XP the wi-fi and internet connection was working but has never worked the same under W7 ? Or.... it has worked since you changed to W7 but now for some reason it does not ?

all I will say is that in general using a VPN creates an encrypted connnection between your computer & the VPN end point ( server) so all traffic goes via that encrypted connection.

Windows only sees the connection between your computer & the VPN local server on your computer

I just put a linksys wrt54g v1.1 wireless network card in my computer and i keep getting:

I have tried the "repair" feature, updating drivers and nothing. I can connect to the net threw the on board Ethernet card if that means anything. any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Our internet service provider updated our internet speed from 100mbps to 1000mbps for no extra cost. We had a Netgear n150 wireless router but it wouldn't support the 1000mbps speed. We were told we needed to upgrade to a r6300 netgear router which is capable of 1000mbps. Now were are told we need to install an ethernet PCI network card or a network adapter. I am told we have to have a 2.0 port for the network adapter to work. It would be cheaper for us to install the internal Ethernet PCI Card, my problem is I don't know which one to buy. I know we need one that is rated 1000mbps, are these universal or will we have to buy one that fits each brand of computer?

Being new to Wireless networking it was with some intrepedation I bought a Linskys Wireless G Broadbrand Router-WRT54GS and a Linskys Wireless-G USB Network adapter-WUSB54GS.
I connected Router Via my surfboard Modem to my main Desktop PC, running XP Media Edition. I then connected USB Networking Adapter to My Compaq Armada Laptop running Windows 2000.
It has worked wonderfully well to my surprise. I only use Laptop to access Internet.
Getting rather confident I thought I would add a 3rd PC to the system. It is a Desktop running XP Pro.
I loaded set up disk and followed all the instructions as I did with Laptop set up.
Everything seemed good till I tried to connect to Internet from this 3rd PC I get the message "Can not associate with the Access point".
Is this because I am using the same Network Adapter.i.e switching it between my Laptop and 3rd PC.
Can anyone help.

Hello.

I have an Acer Travelmate 5520 notebook that is running Windows Vista Business.

It was able to find and connect to a wireless network just fine. Then I put the machine into hibernation mode and now it won't connect.
Usually I press the button on the front of the laptop to turn wireless on or off, but now the button doesn't do anything.

In device manager, `Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter' does not show up now for some reason under `network adapters'.
This network adapter is also absent from the device manager even if "Show Hidden Devices" is active.

I didn't change anything so it's weird that this problem has now come up.

I've spent the past few hours reading threads and posts online (using a different internet connection) and have not found the solution.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

A:Solved: Wireless Network Adapter not working.

I assume that there is nothing in Device Manager with a warning or error.

Check in the BIOS (Setup) to see if the wireless somehow got disabled in there.

If you can access the wireless card by removing a small cover on the bottom of the notebook remove and carefully and firmly replace the card (to fix any potential corrosion or looseness).

Hi guys,
I have recently been experiencing some problems with my laptop's wireless network adapter.

All I see now is the normal wireless sign, but with a red cross by it.
I am really confused and have tried everything, I have tried going to - Control Panel > Networking and Internet > Network Connections.
And I do not see my wireless network adapter, All I do see is - Local Area Connection which says Network cable unplugged, It also has a red cross next to it
The name of this is Atheros AR8152/8158 PCl-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDlS 6.20)

I am really lost and have no idea what is making it do this.

I just ran the Windows XP Help and Support, Network Diagnostics and I got a FAILED for the following areas:
Network Adapters FAILED
[00000010] Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection FAILED
DNSServerSearchOrder FAILED
198.153.192.50 FAILED
198.153.194.50 FAILED

I've been having some wireless issues and I am not sure what this is telling me and what I can do about it to fix it. I checked with the Intel web site for network adapters and it appears that I have the latest driver.
Any helpful suggestions?

Are there any XBox 360 owners out there that have a Wireless Network Adapter/Access Point for Xbox 360 by pelican? If so, can you check the specs listed on the box and let me know if it supports WPA security or not?

I'm finding TONS of reviews of this device but NONE of them mention the security protocols supported. *sigh*

Thanks!

Peace...

A:Solved: can't connect to internet via wireless adapter AFTER securing network with new router

Just so we're clear. If you disable encryption on the link, you connect fine, but any encryption on the router inhibits the wireless machine from connecting?

Have you tried using only WZC and not the adapter's wireless client?

Hi,
I have an IBM ThinkPad R51 notebook, on which I did a clean reinstallation of Windows XP. I have managed to set up all drivers OK - except the built-in wireless network adapter.
I have downloaded the official drivers from here, installed them, rebooted as the program told me to - and the Device Manager simply does not register that there is a wireless device at all. No errors, nothing - it just isn't there.
I know that this device is there, because it existed and was working fine before I did the reinstall.
Any idea how to get device manager to realize that there is a wireless card buried somewhere inside this computer?
Thanks!
Shaul

Hello everyone. Please help. I have a Gateway Notebook Model ML6720 that has built-in Wireless. The PC was heavily infected by Virus and I had to re-install Vista Operating system. Now, it will not detect the Wireless Adapter. I went to the maufacturer's website on another computer and downloaded the driver and installed the driver on the laptop. However, it did not help. The blue "wireless" light on the laptop is "lit", however when I go to "Device Manager" and look at the Network Drives, it only shows the wired Ethernet option. Not sure what I need to do at this point. Please help. Anyone? Thanks in advance.

A:Wireless Network Connection "adapter is not connected"

It may help to reset the N900 Netgear router using the reset button on the side of the router. It's fairly typical for the wireless to go out while the wired connection will keep on working.

It sometimes requires a 30-30-30 reset to fix the router.

Cannot connect to home wireless network with Toshiba Satellite laptop running Vista with SP2. Other family wireless devices working fine and good internet connection using ethernet cable from my laptop to router.

Problem just started today after trying public free wireless in airport early today. Would not connect and got a security certificate warning on another free internet network. So, did not use. Internet worked fine tethered to my phone.

I have an internal wireless g card and a usb plug-in wireless n adapter. Neither one works now. In network status section of control panel shows good network connection but red X before internet connection icon.

I ran a Norton scan and Malwarebytes scan in safe mode with no issues. Also tried to connect wireless in safe mode with no success.

Lastly I did system restore to a few days ago when wireless connection was working fine. No success there either.

Hello,

I am trying to connect to my home wireless network and my computer has found the network and will let me connect (after typing in the WEP key), but the status says 'Acquiring network address' and I can't access the internet.

I have the IP address for the network, but don't know how to add this into my computer.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Thanks!

A:Wireless network connection - Cannot acquire network address.

Hi

if it hangs or shows limited connectivity ensure you are typing in the correct key, some routers will allow a passphrase for wep others want the key in hexadecimal format.
