I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

A:Wireless network connection lost internet connection

The first thing to try is to power everything off, Cable mode, router and computers. Then power them on again in sequence. Cable modem, router then computer. Let each device settle down before going on to the next.

Hi. I have a network of 40+ pcs. 13 of them are used for invoicing. 2 of them have a printer attached to them for invoices being printed. Everyday, the connection to these pcs is lost an invoices wont print. On these pcs, the status of the printer is 'Unable to connect'. A restart will solve the problem but i might re-oocure later during the day. These are Pentium 2 pcs (Win XP Pro S1) but i also occurs on P4 Celerons (Win XP Pro S2).

Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks.

A:Network lost connection

I'm not at all clear on what PCs are losing what connections, but it may be a result of power management--a network connection or a printer that is allowed to "go to sleep" to save power.

My son just brought me a new(er) computer. I took my hard drives, video card etc, and transferred them to the new computer. But can no longer access the Internet!

I have a D-Link DI-524 wireless router. My laptop with a wireless card works just fine, but my desktop with a network card which is connected by an ethernet cable does not. The network card checks out, my network connection properties have the correct info to connect to the router (it uses an IP address for the router) but it will not connect. It was working fine before and I am using the same cards, cords, router and everthing.

What happened?

do you know anything about "losing" internet explorer, after a win xp re-install?

my brother-in-law had a virus come in (we think) and his pc wouldn't start, wouldn't do anything, was stuck in a helpless loop, asking for install cd, then nothing, reboot same thing over & over.

I had him re-install windows xp by hitting F8, working our way to get the pc to even see the install cd, it seemed to fix the booting up problem, he lost everything (personal files etc) but at least windows came up, and seemed to be functional until...

now he can't connect to the internet, there's nothing in his network connections, tried the wizard, no luck, seems like the pc lost the ability to ADD a connection

any ideas???

Hi,

I have a simple hard wire network between to computers, and so I can share files etc. Today I uninstalled Kaspersky and installed bitDefender, I now have lost that connection between the two computers. From running a diagnostic test, I can see that I have a problem, but it suggest getting help from my internet provider or network specialist. I have also seen this message "cannot communicate with DNS Server 192.168.2.1" I am a bit stuck, any ideas anyone?

A:Lost network connection

Probably Kaspersky did not uninstall completely and cleanly and you need to run the Removal Tool or else you haven't properly configured Bitdefender for the desired access.

I have a computer network with 3 PCs and 1 with a wireless connection (Motorola). Yesterday, the connection to my wireless network was lost on my PC. It doesn't see the network at all. This has happened a couple of times before, so I didn't think much of it. usually, I just reset the modem and everything is fine, but this time, I reset the modem 3 times and reset the entire network once, and no change.

So last night, I went out and purchased a new wireless router (Dynex), then I was connected to the network and on the internet for about 2 minutes before the connected dropped again. Fixing this would be easier if I knew what the problem was. Does anyone know what needs to be done?

Yesterday, I cloned my boot drive, and installed the new clone. Everything works perfectly, except - ZoneAlarm lost all it's settings, and my spouse's Win 98 computer can no longer see my machine. After fixing ZA by setting the local network's ip range as trusted, I can connect to his computer and even browse his files. But he cannot even see my machine.

I can't think of anything further to do. No changes were made to the '98 machine. No changes to network settings were made on this machine - except as noted.

What else should I be looking at?

A:Solved: Lost network connection

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Make and exact model of the broadband modem.
Make and exact model and hardware version of the router (if a separate unit).
Model numbers can usually be obtained from the label on the device.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP (Home or Pro), SP1-SP2-SP3, Vista (Home, Business, Ultimate), etc.
The Internet Browser in use, IE, Firefox, Opera, etc.

Please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

If you're using a wireless connection, have you tried a direct connection with a cable to see if that changes the symptoms?
For wireless issues, have you disabled all encryption on the router to see if you can connect that way?
Have you connected directly to the broadband modem to see if this is a router or modem/ISP issue?
If there are other computers on the same network, are they experiencing the same issue, or do they function normally?

For each of the two computers, I'd also like to see this:

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD (COMMAND for W98/WME) to open a command prompt:

Type the following commands on separate lines, following each one with the Enter key:

PING 206.190.60.37

PING yahoo.com

NBTSTAT -n

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

The laptop is unable to see the desktop and has also lost its printer capability which would be normal since you loose the network.

The laptop is still able to connect to the Internet. I have check everything I know and setting as well. Where do I go from here. Gary

A:Solved: Lost connection on Network.

Turn off any firewalls for debugging. If the firewall is the problem, you'll have to configure it to allow access to "trusted zone" addresses. Note that some firewalls must be completely uninstalled to stop them from affecting your networking.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt.

In the command prompt window that opens, type type the following commands:

PING each remote computer by IP address, and if successful, PING by name. Open a command prompt as described above and type.

PING <ip address>
or
PING <computer name>

Where:
<ip address> - is the x.x.x.x IP address
<computer name> - is the computer name

A failure to PING is almost always a firewall configuration issue. Any failure to PING needs to be corrected before you go any farther.

Note: You can obtain the IP address and computer name of a computer by opening a command prompt (DOS window) and typing IPCONFIG /ALL. This should work for any Windows version. The IPCONFIG /ALL display will provide a wealth of useful information for debugging your network connection.

Check your Services are Started on all PCs:

COM+ Event System (for WZC issues)
Computer Browser
DHCP Client
DNS Client
Network Connections
Network Location Awareness
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Server
TCP/IP Netbios helper
Wireless Zero Configuration (XP wireless configurations)
WLAN AutoConfig (Vista wireless configurations)
Workstation

Note: You can check the services in Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services.

All of these services should be started, and their startup type should be automatic.

If a service is not running, open it's properties and check the dependencies. Check each of the dependencies and see which one is preventing the service from running. Checking the event log is also a good idea here, there may be clues to what is failing.
All computers should be in the same workgroup for computer browsing to function properly. File & Print Sharing has to be enabled on any computer you wish to share files or printers from. You also need to actually share the resource in question from My Computer, right click on the drive/printer/folder, and select sharing.

If you encounter difficulties accessing computers that are visible in Network Places (Network and Sharing Center in Vista), make sure the computer being accessed has an account with the same name/password as the system connecting to it uses to login.

While the default NetBIOS setting is correct for normal network configurations, it's possible for it to be altered, and it costs nothing to make sure it's correct. NETBIOS over TCP/IP must be enabled for normal network browsing.

I recently upgraded a 2000 PC to XP Pro. In the Network Connections box, it should show Local Area Connection icon... but it shows nothing!!

If I click on the Change Windows Firewall settings to the right, and then select the Advanced Tab, it tells me that there is corruption in the Network Connections [duh] and to restore defaults... I restore defaults but the problem still exists..

What can I try next??

A:Lost Network Connection Icon

Hi...

Do you mean the icon in the sys tray (bottom right hand corner of the screen near the clock) isn't there?

If yes, please try the following:
- Click Start
- Then Control Panel (may need to select Settings first depending on how you have the Start Menu configured)
- In your Control Panel, double click the Network Connections icon
- Right click on your LAN connection and then select Properties
- Put tick in 'Show icon in notification area when connected'
- Click OK

Hopefully that should fix it...if it doesn't or your meant something else, please let me know :-)

Network Again queried the settings with the ISP and the person I spoke to Lost Again - Network Connection Settings? said to change the settings in Windows disabled DHCP put in some addresses - she said it was changing to static from dynamic The settings in the Lost Again - Network Connection Settings? router now don't seem to match up with the settings in Windows My complete ignorance about what Windows is doing what the router is doing etc is again significant because I downloaded Puppy Linux and to set this up Lost Again - Network Connection Settings? to connect to the internet it is talking about all of this stuff that I don't understand I presume that I have to tell Puppy not to use DHCP and to put in the DNS addresses for the ISP the same way the Windows connection is configured but I don't know what it all means Is anybody able to explain this in very basic terms Thanks

We have 6 PCs running Windows XP -- all networked and have specific shared folders that we can all connect to. Also have a Linksys NAS in our network that has folders shared as \\SERVER\public. All has been working fine for two years. Suddenly, 1 user was connected from his laptop to a PowerPoint document in a shared folder on \\SERVER\public. He closed the document. When he went to open this document again 15 minutes later, his laptop couldn't see the \\SERVER\public anymore.

It has disappeared from his Network Places, and we can't find a way to reconnect this laptop to this \\SERVER\public. The laptop sees all the other network connections, and all the other PCs on the network can still connect to the \\SERVER\public.

Can anyone help us figure out what the problem is and how to reconnect?

I'm going nuts. My PC will not connect to my wired network, but it will connect to it wirelessly through an USB N adapter (I couldn't afford the downtime). This happened on another wired PC in my home about 5 months ago and I simply left that on the wireless connection but I would like the security of the wired for my main PC. A win 7 laptop plugged into the same outlet with the same cable works fine so I assume it has to be my NIC card, drivers or some setting. Where do I start?

A:Lost wired but not wireless connection to my network

Resetting your router would be the first course of action here. You will need to go back in to your routers set up page and make sure all the settings are correct after that or if you have a router configuration file handy it's easier.

I have an MSI laptop..model M662

And a SMC router. A few hours ago, my laptop was connected to the internet and working fine. I accidentally diabled the wireless conection while trying to do something else, and now i can't reconnect it.

It says the laptop is on the network but with "limited to no connection" and when i try to fix this, it sometimes tells me that it cannot assign a network address or that it cannot renew my IP address.

Help, please?

Recently, I've found that whenever my Toshiba L505 laptop is left unused for 20 minutes and slips into sleep or hibernate mode, network connections through routers (both at home and at work) are lost: "Windows cannot find any networks," it says. Nothing short of restarting/rebooting the laptop restores them.

Lately, as well, SpyBot has found spyware with great frequency, and repeatedly, which I remove: something like "AAAWoW." And Avira finds and removes objects like TR/Kazy.2359.24 and TR/Agent.HY.298.

I've also noticed that, most of the time, my wireless mouse has become inoperable, but works again after the reboot.

I'm wondering if a virus or other intruder is corrupting some of my drivers, although I'm not sure how to check it - or if that's even the real problem. Any suggestions?

Sue

Lets see what you have
Run a full anti virus scan
Download and run the full malwarebytes scan. Be sure to update first.

If you are clean, I have a few tricks that may help.

I have previously set up a wireless printer on my network which contains three Pc's and the wirless printer. All was fine until today when, due to some connection issues and speed of network, I changed the name of my network router as well as the channel it is on. Since doing that the wireless printer will not print. Do I need to reinstall in or how can I get the printer to reconect to the new network?

A:wireless printer lost connection to network

You get it to connect to the new network the same way you got it to connect to the previous one.

A:Switching from Vista to XP I have lost wireless network connection, help please!

Have you looked in Device Manager to see if any drivers are missing?

Here are the XP drivers for that model of Dell
http://support.dell.com/support/dow...D=INSPIRON1545&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en&TabIndex=
Installing drivers in the correct order is very important on a Dell, see this article.

If you installed them in another order, you are best to reinstall XP clean and install drivers in the correct order.

I have wireless internet with a cisco valet router. My problem is that yesterday when I turned on a laptop that I use only once a week or so, now shows the signal strength of the network but I can not gain access to it. The main error message I get when I troubleshoot is that the network connection has come unplugged.
Yes, I have the wireless switch turned on, on the laptop. That was the first thing I checked. I uninstalled cisco software on the laptop and reinstalled it and the laptop will not connect to the network. What do I do next to get this resolved?
Hopefully I can fix this problem by not messing with the router, just the laptop.

Hello there Please bear with me as I'm new here and I'm internet network Laptop connection, find cannot wireless has lost honestly not super tech-savvy I'm seeking help because my laptop seems to have spontaneously lost the ability to connect to or even detect my home network internet connection Details about the laptop and OS are towards the end of this post When I open Chrome I get the error message quot Unable to connect to the internet quot When I Laptop has lost wireless internet connection, cannot find network click on the usual icon that I'd use to locate my home network I Laptop has lost wireless internet connection, cannot find network see quot Currently connected to Unidentified network No network access quot My network does not show up There is a link for quot Open Network and Sharing Center quot I attached a screen shot of what I see when I click on that link Clicking on the quot Connect to a network quot option leads me right back to quot Laptop has lost wireless internet connection, cannot find network Currently connected to Unidentified network No network access quot with a link to open the Network and Sharing Center I can't get the laptop to find my home network no matter which choice I try I got out my old HP laptop which has wireless for troubleshooting purposes It immediately found my home network and accessed the internet without any problems So I it would seem there are no issues with my modem and or router I suspect I've just done something dumb in the laptop settings I once accidentally turned off all sound for internet websites and couldn't restore it until a friend came to troubleshoot so this scenario does not seem unlikely Also in case it provides any clues I can tell you when the problem started My laptop started grousing at me about an IP address conflict I ignored it and kept closing the error box I wasn't using it for internet when that happened Then about a couple weeks ago my desktop PC i e my command central told me it couldn't access the internet due to an IP address conflict I depend on internet access for work and school so in a panic I disconnected the laptop from the internet hoping it would fix the problem How did I do that I'm not sure I even recall I think I just did some right-clicking on the quot connected to the internet quot icon at the bottom right and then chose quot disconnect quot But I might have done more than that Maybe disabled wireless That did not fix the problem so I placed an emergency call to a tech-savvy friend who said I should unplug my router and then plug it back in PRESTO I had internet on my desktop PC again But I've not had internet on my laptop since then Any hints or troubleshooting advice would be sincerely appreciated I started to include the information from the introductory quot Basic Requirements Before Posting your Networking Thread quot post below but then thought it best simply to post my question before getting out a flashlight to locate router and modem model numbers as I doubt there is anything wrong with either of them However should you need this information I would be most happy to provide it Thank you so much Danielle Specs I have an Acer Aspire V - - laptop Pretty much anything you'd want to know about the specs on it can be found at the link below you can scroll down a bit for the specifics The only difference is that I had Windows taken off and replaced with Windows Home Premium -bit Amazon com Acer Aspire V - - -Inch Laptop Silky Silver Computers amp Accessories My service provider is Comcast cable my antivirus is Norton Security Suite and I have ABP Popup Blocker installed This is where I sorta trailed off and decided simply to post my question before continuing

Hi,

I configured a wireless network in my house a few days ago. I am using a D-Link DIR-300 Wireless router.

Everything has been working perfectly for 2 days until just an hour ago.

Suddenly the wireless connection was lost (no internet and no connection to router possible anymore via wireless), then Vista automatically tries to reconnect --> with success. connection is there again --> everything working fine for a few minutes --> then connectin gets lost again --> reconnect and so on.

I have tried it with a different Notebook and the same problem is there also. When the connection gets lost, it is on the other notebook lost also.

What could the cause for this be?

regards
goforgold

Cannot connect to home wireless network with Toshiba Satellite laptop running Vista with SP2. Other family wireless devices working fine and good internet connection using ethernet cable from my laptop to router.

Problem just started today after trying public free wireless in airport early today. Would not connect and got a security certificate warning on another free internet network. So, did not use. Internet worked fine tethered to my phone.

I have an internal wireless g card and a usb plug-in wireless n adapter. Neither one works now. In network status section of control panel shows good network connection but red X before internet connection icon.

I ran a Norton scan and Malwarebytes scan in safe mode with no issues. Also tried to connect wireless in safe mode with no success.

Lastly I did system restore to a few days ago when wireless connection was working fine. No success there either.

If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all post back the results in a reply here

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt box (A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt

It will export the results to notepad and then automatically open notepad.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results to a reply here
to do that:
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Select all
all the text will be highlighted
Next
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Copy
Now go back to the forum - reply and then right click in the reply box and paste

NOTIFY directives are messages that advertise the availability of UPnP-capable devices on the network. If you do not require the functionality of the Internet Gateway Device Discovery and Control Client, you can remove the client from your computer. Doing so can help lower the risk of Internet-based attacks to port 1900 on your computer.

Hi,

I really had not this 'Bluetooth connection' before.
But, I really don't know that pairing my Nokia Bluetooth with my HP Laptop Bluetooth would add this Bluetooth connection or NOT.
I really guess this Bluetooth Connection was listed there when I connected my Lapotp Bluetooh with Nokia Bluetooth.
Thus, I will really not have any problems if I deleted it. But I am asking you what benefit of that Bluetooth Connection.
This is below was not here:

Finally Could please let me know how to use this Bluetooth Connection.(How to benefit from it)? I really use an ADSL Internet subscription, and not Dial-up connection. Also, I am connected wirelessly to a Modem-Router. Thus, what password and username should I type in the fields in the above screen shot?

A:'Bluetooth connection' is shown in my Network Connection suddnly.

Pairing a mobile phone will create such an entry and there's nothing to worry about. I don't think you can use it to go online since as you said you are using ADSL and if you want to go online via your modem with your phone just use the wifi connection

I've been having some wireless issues and I am not sure what this is telling me and what I can do about it to fix it. I checked with the Intel web site for network adapters and it appears that I have the latest driver.

Hi there,
I am having trouble connecting to the internet from my laptop via a D-Link wireless ADSL router.

This is a new problem on a laptop that has been used on this wireless network many times - very strange?

When i click "repair" it seems to hang at the point of acquiring my IP address.
Any ideas?
Thanks

A:Problems with wireless network adapter and network connection driver

First with this remove Zone alarm, while it use to be a great product, it cause more issues than it's worth these days.
Next, Start menu-> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right click on command prompt and run as Administrator.

Type in netsh winsock reset and reboot, see if the combination of these will help.

Otherwise, system restore is very simple to use and will only affect programs installed, not your personal files. If this doesn't solve the issue pick a time before the rootkit, a couple weeks if possible, and just restore it. You can scroll through all the date to make note of any changes that will be made. Make sure to re-install your AV and Malwarebytes afterwards to keep you protected.

Also, I do not work for Malwarebytes, but $29 for a lifetime license and an active protection module is absolutely worth it.

I have a small home office with comupters all running xp Pro w SP Two Dells and and HP Pavilion Internet via Verizon DSL On the HP aftere a day or two I will lose the internet connection Under Network Connections the LAN connection says quot Enabled quot and the VERizon connection says quot Connected quot Lost DSL Connection via WAN Miniport PPPOE But when I try to connect to a Lost DSL Connection website I get the dreaded quot page cannot be displayed quot I ve checked all the network settings and verified that everything is the same on the troublesome machine as on the other two Normally if I delete the Verizon connection and recreate a new one I can connect for a day or Lost DSL Connection two then the connection is lost again The only other thing I noticed on the troublesome computer was a quot Generic Host Process for Win Services quot error on startup Not sure if one problem is related in the other Thanks nbsp

A:Lost DSL Connection

Do you have any HP All-in-one products as well? If you go to the HP site and put in "generic host error" you will see there is troubleshooting for that problem. Even so, it might be worth a look. Also go to Microsoft.com & put "generic host error" in the search box. You will get several articles come up. I had the generic host error once & by following one of these instructions fixed it (though I don't recall which one). I don't know whether this is related to your connection problem though, but it could possibly be - generic host has a hand in a whole lot of processes. I'm not an expert, so that's about as far as I can go for you.

A:connection lost.

Let's start by trying this...

Download KillBox here: http://www.downloads.subratam.org/KillBox.zip
Save it to your desktop.
DO NOT run it yet.

** Before you proceed with the removal directions below you need to turn off MS Anti-Spyware's realtime protection as it will interfere with the changes we are trying to make.

Open MS Anti-Spyware and click on Options>Settings.
Click on "Realtime Protection" in the left pane.
Remove the check by these:
Enable the Microsoft Security Agents on startup. (recommended)
Enable real-time spyware threat protection. (recommended)
Click "Save".
Now right click the MS Anti-spyware icon in your system tray and choose "Shutdown Microsoft Anti-Spyware".
You should re-enable these when we are finished here.

With IE closed, run Hijack This again.
Put a checkmark on these entries and hit "fix checked":

O16 - DPF: {1D0D9077-3798-49BB-9058-393499174D5D} - file://c:\counter.cab

Boot into Safe Mode (start tapping the F8 key at Startup, before the Windows logo screen)

Double-click on Killbox.exe to run it.
Now put a tick by Standard File Kill.
In the "Full Path of File to Delete" box, copy and paste each of the following lines one at a time then click on the button that has the red circle with the X in the middle after you enter each file.
It will ask for confimation to delete the file.
Click Yes.
Continue with that same procedure until you have copied and pasted all of these in the "Paste Full Path of File to Delete" box.

c:\counter.cab

Note: It is possible that Killbox will tell you that one or more files do not exist.
If that happens, just continue on with all the files. Be sure you don't miss any.

Exit the KillBox.

Reboot and post a new log. We will have more to do.

If that doesn't restore the connection, get the LSP Fix here: http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Launch the application, and click the "I know what I'm doing" checkbox.
Then click Finish.

I have one computer that works fine. And connects to the Internet. And many websites.
On a laptop, suddenly, I find a complete loss of internet connection. All websites can not be accessed. Usually, it says something like "detecting proxy settings" or something, flips by, when you first start the browser. It waits for a very long while. And finally gives up, and presents a white screen, and page not found. Can't get email either.

I try some commands:
PING 192.168.1.1

Trying to ping my router. Result:
Destination is unreachable.

I try:
PING www.google.com
result:
unknown host

I believe that the Linksys router is working just fine.

My laptop is running Windows 2000 PRO SP3.

What might be the next steps?

Hi guys,
we are plan to implement ATA in our company and have some questions:
What happens if the gateway or the center looses the connection?
- Are the data cached on the gateway?
The ATA Center can send information to a SIEM tool. To define some actions (preventing) for special security threats is this the only way?

Hey All,
Here is my problem: I just recently did a scan for spy/adware and found a few things. I deleted them successfully and rebooted. I found that after the reboot, I could not connect to the internet through a couple of different browsers (IE, Firefox, Opera). Although it said that the page could not be displayed, I can still successfully ping the server and receive all four packets without error. It seems I am connected, but cannot connect ...? Anyway my ISP is Road Runner and I use a Motorolla Surfboard cable modem. Please do not suggest using LSPFix because I have tried it and it found nothing. Thank you for your help and consideration.

Have you checked the files you removed following the spyware scan? You may need to restore them if only to ensure that isn't the problem.

When I try to reconnect I get a failed connection with this advice from Windows. "uk.yahoo (homepage) is not set up to establish a connection port "world wide web" service http with this computer. The only way to resolve this is to shut down completely (a restart does not help) and then I can connect to the web as easy as always.
This problem is not happening ona laptop sharing the same router connection.
My os is Vista home and I can find no reasons for the problem in Internet Options (as far as I can see)

Well, I have a friend who had that happen to him, his brothers' and parents computers using the same internet workde but his didn't, they wiped the hard drive and now it works fine, if you want to keep your hard drive, then my only advice to you is, buy an external hard drive, backup your files, chuck your windows computer (not recycle, chuck out the window) and go buy a mac..... it should work then. from a personal standpoint.... I hate windows (but I'm 16 without a job so I can't buy my own mac.....)

Hi NeverAgain

Go to Start->Run and type in regedit and hit OK. Go to File->Export and save the registry somewhere as a backup. just in case.
Next Download Winsock2Fix and save it. Transfer Winsock2Fix to problem computor and place it on Desktop. Unzip it. Then double-click on it to run it.

If you haven't already, download, install, update immediately, then run AdawareSE. Make sure to customize the settings in Ad-aware for better scan results.

Then download, install, update immediately Spybot S&D.

Have each fix whatever problems they may find.

Next, run an online virus scan at TrendMicro or RAV Antivirus.
Please select the autoclean option when using Trend Micro.

Then get HijackThis . This program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Run the scan, save the log, but do not fix anything yet. Many files it finds are harmless, and required for your system to operate.

Post your log in a new thread in the HijackThis Log Help forum. This our dedicated spyware/virus forum. One of the expert analysts there will look over your log and assist you. Please include a brief description of the problem you are having and what you have done to fix it so far.
This way we can confirm that everything is gone.
