I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I have installed Windows 10, a clean copy of windows installation has been done with full format of c drive. So, after a successfull installation of win10 in my HP Pavilion dv6-7024tx, I ran windows updates to make sure it gets all driver for its hardware automatically, it did though and was absoultely fine expect one audio problem relating to micro (not working), I couldn't notice that time. I also installed HP support assistance for further assistance to make sure everything work just okay. Things to describe here, everything works absolutely fine without the built in Micro issue for Audio device. It is litterally not working to input audio anymore here. In my previous Win7 which was given in factory default setup, had BeatAudio driver and I saw that software and everything was Okay earlier.
Hi: See if this IDT audio driver works for you...Install and restart the PC. This package contains the driver that enables the IDTHigh-Definition (HD) Audio in supported notebook models that arerunning a supported operating system. I don't remember my password and I am locked out of my laptop. How do I recover this? I don't have a recovery disc. CJ
cigambino Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! If you Google for Trinity Rescue Kit, you will find a site where you can download an ISO file that you can then use to make a boot CD to then use to reset your password. Once you have that file, download and install ImgBurn and use the Write Image to Disk option to create a bootable CD.Good Luckhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-Pavilion-dv7-Notebook-PC/td-p/5755604

Hi, It is great to upgrade system to Windows 10, but in the same time, series of issues occur, like the USB device issue. After upgrading the system to Windows 10, you find that your USB device cannot connect to your PC. You may need to plug your external devices like MP3, pen drive, printer, etc. to your computer through the USB ports. So it is very inconvenient that the USB ports don?t work properly. Solutions below may help you fix the USB port issue. Since your USB device works properly before you upgrade the system, the problem most probably is not caused by the USB device. But you can also plug the USB device to another computer. If it unfortunately doesn?t work, you can consider replacing the device. Following are the solutions to figure out the problem. Solution 1: Check if the problem is caused by power supply issue 1. Unplug the power supply and charger plug from your PC.2. Restart your PC. Connect your USB device to the PC again. Then you can plug the power supply.Solution 2:The Power Management would also be the cause of the USB problems. Windows is set to shut down your USB controller to save power by default, sometimes it won?t be able to power it back up. So try following steps to prevent Windows from ?managing? power to your USB controller or the devices.1. Open Device Manager.2. Expand the Universal Serial Bus controllers branch.3. Double-click the USB Root Hub device, and click the Power Management tab. (if there?s more than one USB Root Hub device, repeat these steps for each one.)4. Turn off the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option, and clickOK button. Solution 3: Go to Device Manager to check for the driver statusThe problem most probably is caused by driver issues. Drivers may not be updated to work with Windows 10. If that?s the case, you can resolve the problem by updating the drivers. 1. In Device Manager, expand Other devices and Universal Serial Bus controllers.2. If you see drivers with yellow mark under these two categories. You need to update the drivers. You can update the drivers manually.Alternatively, you can use a driver update tool to help update drivers automatically. Driver Easy is one of driver update tools online. After you install Driver Easy, use it to scan your computer to detect all problem drivers. If there is problem with the USB driver, Driver Easy will detect it and recommend the new driver. With Driver Easy, the USB issue can be resolved easily. Driver Easy has Free version and Paid version. You can use the Free version to download new drivers, but you are required to use the downloaded driver files to install the drivers manually step by step. And the download speed is limited. To save more time, you can use the Paid version. With Paid version, all drivers will be updated automatically. More over, you can enjoy free technical support guarantee. If you use the Paid version to try resolving the problem but the problem persists, you can contact us for further assistance. Paid version offers 30-day money back guarantee. You can ask for a full refund if you want within the guarantee period. If the problem cannot be resolved, the USB ports might be damaged. You may need to replace the damaged ports. If the solutions above do not work for you, you can take your PC to the repair store to have it fixed, as the problem might be caused by hardware issues.

Hi everyone,Can anyone help me in identifying the problem with my HP Pavilion Laptop. All of the sudden my HP Pavilion Laptop Display (model-15-n219sa) stopped working with black & white line on the display. I can project the display on the TV screen with the help of HDMI interface but nothing on the laptop display apart from black & white lines. Can anyone guess what will be the problem. I checked the display panel cable / connector found everything intact.Regards,Dineshhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Pavilion-Notebook/td-p/5736925

Have you worked on or repaired many laptops? English is not your first language?
My stepson has an HP Pavilion dv1000 notebook. The power supply gets extremely hot and seems to be melting the tip to the plug where it connects to the notebook. Does this seem to be a problem with the notebook or only with the power supply. Any help would be appreciated.
wow that is pretty hot... does it always run that hot, or does it only run that hot when he's gaming, or watching a movie? could just be a demanding laptop, but then again you could take it to a PC specialist (comp usa or local computer shop) and get the powersupply checked out. dang if it's melting the tip thats pretty hot... My dad's apple powerbook gets up to 75 degrees celcius when he's just surfing the web and stuff, so hot you have to take it off your legs if you don't want to burn yourself. so get it checked out, might just be a demanding laptop.
How do i Screenshot? I just got this computer and i dont know how to screenshot??? and by the way messenger doesnt let me make video calls or normal calls?????

Hi All Mr Bruce has suggested I re-post my problem here so here goes A few weeks ago I started to download DVDShrink from what looked like a perfectly Notebook boot 7 Pavilion HP won't Win dv7 legitimate company site After I clicked to download the program it began instead to install itself At the Win 7 HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook won't boot same time all kinds of alarms went off - Comodo Malwarebytes etc - and I quickly shut down After booting up I ran a quick Mbam scan and it found infected files which I deleted I then ran a full Mbam scan and it found a bunch more Later I also ran full Mbam and Avast scans but this time around neither came up with anything For a few days everything ran OK but then Firefox began to freeze up whenever I brought up a web page with a Youtube video on it Then other things started to freeze - Task Manager etc - and now it's reached the stage that the computer won't boot The computer won't even start in Safe Mode At best it just brings up my mouse pointer which works and the Windows Welcome screen but nothing more Different Windows messages have appeared at times one of which said something to the effect that Windows was stopping to prevent further damage There is a separate RECOVERY partition on the D drive for restoring the computer to factory settings but I can't access it Pressing the F keys on startup bring up the following screens while pressing the ESC key on startup brings up a menu listing all five of these options F - System Information F - Advanced System Diagnostics F - Boot Manager with options Hard Drive CD DVD Rom Drive Network Adapter I shifted to and booted but the only disc I have is a Win System Repair Boot Disc This kicked in started running and then fizzled out F - BIOS Setup F - System Recovery This gives options Start Windows Normally Launch Startup Repair I've run both of these many times and always with the same result - they fizzle out leaving the Windows welcome screen mouse pointer or sometimes just a blank screen Any advice members could offer would be greatly appreciated Here is a link to my earlier topic about this problem so you'll know what has already been tried http www bleepingcomputer com forums t win- -hp-pavilion-dv -notebook-frozen
I'll report this topic to appropriate helpers.
1. Please let us know what Windows version you have and if it's 32- or 64-bit.
2. Is the computer bootable in any mode?

Hello,I tried to search the cpu upgrade information by following the instructions the website gave me. And I got lost since there's no cpu upgrade information link. I tried to search my motherboard's specification for upgrading the cpu, but I'm totally out of idea how. So, here's the informations about my laptop. Is it possible for me to upgrade my cpu? If so, what kind of CPU would you recommend? thank you.Operating System : Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bitSystem model : HP pavilion dm1 Notebook PC (HP Pavilion dm1-3206au Entertainment )BIOS : InsydeH20 version CCB.03.60.43F.12Processor : AMD E-350 (2CPUs) 1.6 GhzRAM : 6GBSo, I wonder what kind of CPU match for my computer's specifications. If there's anything else you need, let me know. Thanks.
Hi,I'm afraid that there is only one supported processor for the laptop. The E-350 one. I have got a DM1 maintenance and service guide and according to this there no other processors except the E-350..http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Upgrading-CPU-for-HP-Pavilion-dm1-Notebook-PC/td-p/1766339
Hi,I have ongoing issues with my HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-P287SA, Windows 10. Yesterday it would not boot, instead it flashed the caps-lock LED at me once which I beleive is a CPU issue. I did a hard reset on it (took the battery out ect.) and it booted and worked normally all day. This moring it again won't boot again but this time it beeps twice, waits a few seconds and then beeps twice again, five tinmes in total, and then it flashes the caps-lock LED twice, waits, and then twice again. It won't boot at all, even after a hard reset. What does the beeping mean, what is the problem here?

You dmps are showing code 116, and that can be a problem as small as a driver, but can be hardware, such as memory or worse
You can update the driver.
If it is anything else it is most likely hardware related. Since it is new, you may want to exercise the Warranty. I know from past experience, too many changes will void the warranty.

My HP Pavilion dv7-1014ca Entertainment Notebook is running incredibly hot. The fan is on pretty much all the time. The BIOS is fully updated and I've vaccumed the vents and the fan. I keep my laptop on hard, flat surfaces, and yet at times it's almost too hot to touch. the entire bottom section of the notebook will be remarkably hot. Any idea what the problem could be? I've also had moments when my notebook shuts down without any warning for seemingly no reason. Could it be overheating?

I just purchased this notebook earlier this year and I'm disappointed to say that it is already no longer holding a charge unless connected to a power source. The charging icon also continues to stay in the same spot even after hours of charging. I'm not sure if a new battery would resolve this or not. Let me know what you think the best solution is! Does anyone on the forum have this particular laptop working under Windows 7 (on HP's site, it shows that the only supported OS are XP/2000/Vista (32/64 bit)?
The machine can support a max of 2GB of ram, and is a dual core 1.8Ghz processor.
I will have the laptop in my hands tomorrow to examine in depth...
That likely means those sre the OSes that HP supports. They may not have shipped this model with Win 7, hence no support. The spec you list are ok for 32 bit and nominal for 64 bit. This tool can help if you download on the PC in question: Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor - Download - Microsoft Windowshttp://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/179953-hp-pavilion-tx1120us-notebook-pc.html
I bought this laptop in january. It was said to me that the total graphics memory is near 6gb and they show tat to me.But now i get the total graphics memory is 4.1 gb.This was happend after upgrade its os on july.I can not understand the problem and confused about graphics memory.
Hi, The following link shows it specs: http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04781158 It has 2GB of dedicated video card and MAY (yes may) have up to over 3,000 MB of available system RAM (to make around 6GB). It can go up to 6GB when required, 4.1 is a snapshot number when you are looking at. Again, this number is not a fixed number. Nice machine and configuration.
I would first try removing two memory modules, and attempting a boot with the third.. then if that doesn't work, change modules until you have tried all three.
It is difficult to trouble-shoot a machine like that... but we are seeing a LOT of ealy failures in the large laptops hard drives from 250 GB to 500 GB, so suspect that your hard drive might be bad. A good test would be to try any other known good hard drive from 80 GB on up to 500 GB... can you borrow one, then try to format and install it.
If still dead when you change memory and hard drive, it is time to get it back to HP for warranty work.
Anything you do that is not memory and not a hard drive will void your warranty.

I'm having problem with my HP Pavilion laptop. When I first got it which is 3 days ago it was fine. But somehow it didn't boot up suddenly. Blank screen, no led indicators, nothing. The battery indicator did light up when I connect the charger suggesting that the battery is fine. When I press the power button it does nothing. The power button did lights up though. I did try leaving it just to see if it actually going to boot and it does, but only after 4 hours. But now it just won't boot. Please help. I can't send it for warranty until next week since I'm away. Thanks in advance.
I forgot to tell that I have tried all available method like hard reset. Didn't do anything for me. P.S. -My laptop has non-removable battery.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/HP-Pavilion-notebook-is-not-booting/td-p/5742441

Any suggestions please!

Hi All A few weeks ago I started to download DVDShrink from what looked like a perfectly legitimate company site After I clicked to download the program it began to install itself At the same time all kinds of alarms went off - Comodo Malwarebytes etc - and I quickly shut down After booting up I ran a quick Mbam scan and it found infected files which I deleted I then ran a full Mbam scan and it found a bunch more Later I also ran full Mbam and Avast scans but this time around neither came up with anything I also used ERUNT to replace the Registry with a clean copy made earlier For a few dv7 HP Pavilion Win FROZEN Notebook 7 days everything ran OK but Win 7 HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook FROZEN then Firefox began to freeze up whenever I brought up a page with a Youtube video on it Then other things started to freeze - Task Manager etc - and now it's reached the stage that the computer won't boot up properly at all Almost everything is frozen The computer won't even start in Safe Mode At best it just brings up my mouse pointer which is working and my desktop wallpaper but nothing more Different Windows messages have appeared at times one of which said something to the effect that Windows was stopping to prevent further damage There is a separate RESTORE section on the drive for restoring the computer to factory settings but I can't access it Since I can't get into the computer to do anything at all I'm wondering if there's any way of being able to get the computer working again Any advice would be appreciated
Try performing a repair installation. This will preserve your user accounts, data, programs, and system drivers.
Instructions for a Windows 7 Repair installation.
A Windows 7 Repair Installation will require a installation disc.
If you do not have a Windows 7 installation disc you can download a free legal ISO image of Windows 7 SP1 at Windows 7 Forums. You will need to download the same version of Windows 7 that you have installed, This image is hosted by the Digital River store which is an official distribution partner of Microsoft. This is a genuine untouched image which is safe to download.
Attention: If you do have a Windows installation disc, skip Part A and go to Part B, Step 1b.
Part A, Steps 1a - 6a
The ISO image will need to be burned to a DVD in order to create a bootable installation disc.
1a) To burn a ISO file to a DVD please download ImgBurn and install it.
2a) Insert a blank DVD into your CD/DVD drive tray, and then close the tray.
3a) Open ImgBurn, and click on Write image file to disc.
4a) Click on the Browse for a file icon:
5a) Locate the ISO file you want to burn, and click on the Open button.
6a) Click on the blue arrow to start burning the bootable DVD.
Please note: In order to boot from this DVD you may need to change the boot order in the BIOS so that the CD/DVD-ROM is the first device in the boot order, and the hdd is the second device.
Part B, Steps 1b - 10b
1b) Place the installation disc in the tray of the CD/DVD drive, close the tray and restart the computer.
2b) You will be prompted to press any key to start the installation, I find the space bar handy.
At this point the setup process will load files, this will take several minutes.
3b) You will now need to choose the Language, Time, currency format, and Keyboard or input method that you'd like to use.
After this is done click on Next.
4b) Click on the Repair your computer link at the bottom-left of the Install Windows window.
This link will begin the Windows 7 System Recovery Options.
5b) System Recovery Options will now search your hard drive(s) for any Windows 7 installations. This will take several minutes.
No participation is required on your part at this time, wait till it has finished and the next window opens.
6b) Choose the Windows 7 installation that you'd like to perform the Startup Repair on, then click on Next
7b) Click on the Startup Repair link from list of recovery tools in System Recovery Options.
For a future reference, there are several other diagnostic and recovery tools available in the Windows 7 System Recovery Options including System Restore, System Image Recovery, Windows Memory Diagnostic, and Command Prompt.
8b) The Startup Repair tool will now search for problems in the system files.
If Startup Repair finds a problem with any system files the tool may suggest a solution which you will need to confirm, or may solve the problem automatically.
9b) Startup Repair will now attempt to repair whatever problems it found with system files.
Note: If Startup Repair did not find any problems with system files you won't see this step.
Important: Your computer may or may not restart several times during this repair process. This is normal, you should allow it to continue until you see the Restart your computer to complete the repairs window.
10b) Click on Finish, this will restart your computer.
It is possible that the Startup Repair will not be able to fix the problem. If the Startup Repair tool determines ... Read more
Trying to find out if the HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab247cl has an internal battery and what it would mean if and when the battery fails. Or if it is a replacable battery without sending it in to replace. Thank You
crabman198 Hello;Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums! All laptops have internal CMOS batteries as they are needed to retain the CMOS settings when the laptop is shut down. This is the link to the Maintenance and Service manual for your PC: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04642845 On page 54, it shows the steps for accessing and removing the battery. If you remove the battery, that will reset the CMOS settings -- but you can easily change them once the battery is replaced and you restart the laptop.Good Luckhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-Notebooks/HP-Pavilion-Notebook-15-ab247cl/td-p/5732180
I'm having a Pavilion HP DM4 i5 , with 6 GB RAM installed. Is it possible to upgrade the RAM to 16 GB - which RAM-Modules do I need then? On the official documents the maximum RAM is 8 GB, but at the time, the documents were made, no 8GB-Modules were available. Does the BIOS support 8GB Modules? The notebook has two slots, so my hope is, if I replace the built in 2x4GB with 2x8GB, I'll have 16 GB of RAM. For what I need this? Running different virtual machines at one time for working. :-) Thanks for your help!
Petterson. 32-bit Windows has an address space of 4GB. You are limited to 4GB memory. REOhttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Maximum-RAM-on-Pavilion-DM4-Notebook/td-p/5651512
My HP pavilion does not take charging after 80% and sometimes the charging light starts blinking. It shows plugged in , not charging.
Have you tried a battery diagnostic either in the UEFI diagnostics (F2 as you power on) or in the HP Support Assistant running from Windows? Stopping at 81% seems like it may be a dead power cell in the battery. Can we have the full model number of the laptop and an idea how old the battery is? Hello there I m needing help diagnosing a non-working HP Pavilion ZE I received it from a friend after it failed None of the laptop leds would turn on and there were no POST beeps of any kind The HDD Help diagnosing HP notebook Pavilion and CD unit would turn -the floppy won t but it might be a BIOS setting- but the screen won t show anything at all After double-checking the obvious LCD disabled brightness setting power supply output etc I checked internet and found that the DC jack is a common problem with these laptops Sure enough on this one it was a little loose but even after fixing it all the symptoms stay the same I have tried re-setting all the connectors and looking for any obvious damage on the mobo there s none The weird thing is that if I leave the laptop quot on quot Fan amp HDD turning after a while the CPU and the Help diagnosing HP Pavilion notebook VIA chipset get warm Should I just assume that the BIOS Help diagnosing HP Pavilion notebook is fried or are these symptoms of a defunct mobo Is there any guru around that has dealt with this problem before Thanks for your help JR nbsp
Can you try an external monitor? Disconnecting all extra hardware (drives) and replacing the memory are some things to try.
Nothing weird about CPU and chipset getting warm - BIOS is exactly that (Basic) and does not bother with power savings and such.
I have been using my HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-p174na for casual use (a couple of times a week, nothing strenuous at all) since I purchased it a year and a half ago. Yesterday I completed a spreadsheet and checked/sent some emails and then turned it off and put it on charge overnight. This morning I unplugged it and put it away. Then on getting it out to use again this evening I cannot get it to start. I have checked a lot of support pages and searches for the problem and have tried all solutions I have come across (hard resets, attempting turn on with and without battery and/or AV power cord). Nothing seems to work. There are no flashing lights or noises coming from the notebook at all. There also seems to be no damage to any of the cables or power equipment. Please advise what course of action I should now take.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/HP-Pavilion-Notebook-not-turning-on/td-p/5704949

Hi, From page 2 of its Maintenance and Service Guide: Supports up to 8 GB of system memory DDR3, 1066-MHz, dual-channel memory (DDR3 1333 MHz downgraded to DDR3 1066 MHz)Supports the following configurations: ? 8 GB (4 GB×2)? 6 GB (2 GB×2 + 4 GB+1)? 4 MB (2 GB×2 or 4 GBx1)? 3 GB (1 GB×1 + 2 GB×1)? 2 GB (2 GB×1)? 2 MB (1 GB×2)? 1 GB (1 GB×1) Page 44 of the manual shows part number (from HP) and also shows you how to add/replace RAM. I want to upgrade the RAM from 4 to 8GB (16 if possible) and upgrade the OS to one with a longer support life - I'm thinking Windows 7 or 8.1. Is it best to do the upgrades serially and which should I do first? What RAM should I buy i.e. ordering info? Which OS do you recommend and where is the best place to buy it and the preferred media. Thanks to those forum members in advance for your advice.butchiepoo
Hi, Please use the following manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01918142.pdf RAM: page 2 gives you RAM specs and max RAM supported. Page 67 gives you part number, you can use part number to order from HP or online stores. Please note: this is an old machine and RAM could be a bit hard to find now.For OS: Windows 7 drivers are available on itshomepage: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-dv7-Entertainment-Notebook-PC-series/374... You are much better to upgrade to Windows 7 than others because HP supports it. For OS, you can buy from a computer shop or order from Microsoft. Please note again, this machine is 8 years old. Please do not waiste more money on it. Regards.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Upgrade-HP-Pavilion-Notebook-RAM-and-OS/td-p/5754478

Hello everyone,my laptop was working fine, suddenly some keys stopped working like T, Y, Tab, left ctrl, 9 (numlock), F10. I was searching troughout the forum didn't find nothing which could solve me the problem. I'm using windows 8.1 and I've tried also to test them over Linux, nothing, same problem. Even when I start the BIOS menu and there is a command to select with F10 in BIOS I can't select it. It won't recognize (tried with and without the key fn). Didn't also split anything on it, so I'm asking here for any help before I go to a service. Any ideas? Hi!I am using HP Pavilion 15 Notebok PC (F6C42PA#ACJ). It came with Win 8.1 preinstalled on a 1 TB HDD. I have upgraded the OS to win 10 and now want to upgrade my HDD to a SSD. I was wondering if Transcend TS256GSSD370S and Samsung Evo 850 is compatible with my laptop. Also how to enable AHCI mode? I don't see any such option in BIOS.Thank you.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/SSD-upgrade-for-HP-Pavilion-15-Notebook-PC/td-p/5616783
My laptop was working perfect last night. I opened it this morning and the screen was black and the power button was flashing. Thinking it was dead I plugged it in and the power button turned off. Now the laptop won't turn on at all.The light shows its charging orange when plugged in. When I take the battery out the charging light turns white. I've tried the hard reset, removing the battery, everything the forums have said. The laptop is only 5 months old, but there are no HP sellers near by to help correct the issue.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/HP-pavilion-notebook-won-t-turn-on/td-p/5644949
Got this new laptop for Christmas. It came with only 1 stick of 8GB Ram. Went to BB and got a pair of 8GB DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 PNY. Now my laptop overheats and locks up. The only difference is the old memory stick was a DDR3L, the new memory is only DDR3. This memory should work, why is it not?
There's the problem. No it should not work. I am surprised it boots and runs. The laptop is designed for low-voltage memory and you really should not use anything else on a 6th gen Intel Core processor. Did you ask the geniuses (oops wrong store) at BB what your laptop needed or pick it out yourself? Can you take it back and get DDR3L? Pretty sure BB stocks it. The Manual: Two SODIMM slots - NON customer accessible / upgradeable DDR3L-1600 Dual Channel Support Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following con?gurations: Memory module (DDR3L-1600): 8-GB 693374-005 Did you pay more than $70.44 for what you have? https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-1600MHz-PC3-12800-KVR16LS11/dp/B00CQ35HBQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=U...http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/HP-Pavilion-Notebook-15-ab292nr/td-p/5681563

Webcam has never worked. Knew it wasn't a software problem as downloaded all the updates etc and HP help desk then wanted to me to return to factory settings which is such a pain. So I said no thanks and then went to good old Google and the wonderful community of the world gave me my answer!! Managed to fix it by following the you tube clips about taking off front of computer (beval??) and then fiddled with wires to right of camera and lo and beyold it now appeared in my list of devices whereas previously did not even show up!!! I feel like Rain man thanks to all those helpful people who posted things earlier - thanks heapshttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-dv6-pavilion-notebook-webcam-not-working/td-p/5674171

What is your thoughts on this laptop?
Do you think it would be able to run practically all games available now?
If any laptop can allow you to play most games, this one looks good... It is unrealistic to expect most laptops to match a desktop computer when it comes to modern gaming performance
I need a screen removal guide and replacement part number if possible.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Pavilion-Notebook-15-ab112au-Touch/td-p/5671315
Please help me out
Hello, Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum. HP produces computers (desktop PC, notebooks, tablets, printers. Some computers have Windows (or Linux) installed (preinstalled) by HP so that the user can directly use it post-purchase. However, some users prefer to use their own OS or their own licence for the operating system and do not want OS preinstalled. If you have purchased online from HP official store , you need to contact them to verify the sitatuons:>> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/shopping.html (HP Shopping and sales support) If you purchased online not from HP, please contact the retailer If you purchased online a product which did not include Windows or Linux preinstalled, you need to install the desired OS on your own.If you prefer Windows, you can purchase a licence for Win 10 from Microsoft Store (online), then download the installation ISO from here, write it on USB thumbdrive or burn it on a DVD, boot from this USB/DVD and install WIndows. If you require specific assistance, please, do provide more details about your purchase, your product and what is the issue. I'd be glad to help.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/I-purchased-my-pavilion-notebook-online-but-is-OS-not-there/td-p/5720338
I purchased this computer new in March 2016 and connected it WiFi to my BT Home Hub 5 router. It has been OK until recently when it has been unable to connect with my BT email provider. It has remained connecyted with the router and I can get online with other web addresses, but not with BT email. I am sending this via another laptop (also connected WiFi) with the router, so there is nothing wrong with the router or connecting with it - ccexcept in the case of the new Pavilion. I can connect with BT email both WiFi through another laptop and my desktop. Do I need to reconfiger the Pavilion. If so, I would appreciate any advice - or other help'Thanks in advance.John155
Hello John155, First of all, welcome at the HP forums. So according to your message you can connect to the internet with the Pavilion but you are not able to connect to one specific service called "BT Email". Am I right? Could you explain it a bit more thoroughly? It currently is hard to determine what is wrong here. You cannot enter your mail? you cannot enter a webpage? or something else? Winos.

Hi, I've the laptop which is high end config. Say 750GB hard disk,Wind 8.1,8GB RAM etc. It was not coming up one fine day, when I use the power button to switch it on. 1.Removed the battery and try to use the direct power supply and went in vain.2. Inserted the battery and tried, After 5 continuous try, it was coming up.3. After my work, shut down the laptop.4.The very next day, same probelm occured when I switch it on.5. I tried the above options but this time no luck. Let me know what would be the problem /solutions if you are facing something like this.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/HP-Pavilion-notebook-Power-on-amp-Off-issue/td-p/5623955

I have been informed that this is a known issue to HP and have had my notebook repaired twice previously once under warranty and the other time outside of warranty HP were really good about fixing Pavilion Hinge Broken Notebook DV6 the issue for me Pavilion DV6 Notebook Broken Hinge for free even had a local HP service company do all the work The hinge has now broken again third time in years I have found a forum that is looking at a class action against HP regarding this default apparently the issue isn't restricted just to the DV I am not looking at anything so extreme nbsp I was wondering if HP would just continue to fix the problem with my notebook or make any other offer Not sure I would want another HP notebook though nbsp the overheating short battery life and drain and broken hinge have all really made this notebook anything but portable or reliable - and that it isn't confined to the DV makes me very weary of buying any other HP notebook in the future Would they possibly look at giving me a refund part for the notebook I just don't want to have to take it in to get fixed every months or so most others are reporting similar time periods for the broken hinges Opinions nbsp Will give them a call tomorrow too Just sick of these issues I bought HP expecting high quality and competency they have the name and the premium price their product the DV has really disappointed me
I am having the same issue and mine wasn't under warranty so I called hp parts store and they charged me $109 for a new bottom bezel since the hinge tore the bezel apart. I have been using hp for years but if this is a known issue I am very upset at having to pay this much to replace it. The computer was never dropped and it busted through the bottom case suring normal usage. I think hp should stand by this problem since it is a known issue and refund me for the cost of the part. Also I see the left side still doesn't sit as flush as the right side and I think I'm going to be in the same boat as the previous poster and it's just a matter of time before it happens again. Very disappointed in hp on this.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Pavilion-DV6-Notebook-Broken-Hinge/td-p/1578159
