I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I just got my hands onto a New Computer something around a Week Ago, it's meeting all my standarts for the Price. But My problem is that it seemingly doesn't output any sound.Click to expand...

as a new machine without audio and all thats been tried to resolve the issue, i'd be thinking of getting in touch with the vendor and manufacturer.

audio should be available whether the machine required driver updates or not. but some obvious changes can sometimes be overlooked. also, sound would be emitted without a headset.

retracing the obvious to see if any setting has been inadvertently toggled. go to control panel and go through the menu settings to see if mute has been checked and keep the music playing so it will alert you if anything changes. go into windows sound settings and select default output as speakers

could try looking to see if your audio is enabled in Bios. make sure you have Realtek as your main audio device.

I used the A75 Pro4-M in my current build, but I'm building another for a friend. I'm not sure if I should go with the same board, or use the B75 Pro3-M this time. It's hard to find any reviews on either of these boards.

I like the PCIE spacing on the A75 board, but I'd also like to try the i5-2500K.
Any opinions?

A:ASRock A75 Pro4-M or Asrock B75 Pro3-M?

I recently built two PC's, one with a gigabyte M/B Z77X UD5H and another with an AS Rock Z77 Professional. The gigabyte has an i7 3700. The AS Rock has an I5 3550. Both zing along and except the gigabyte system has an SSD and the AS Rock has a hard drive I can't tell much difference. I'm using the gigabyte system in my recording studio and the ASRock is my "everyday" PC.

This might be bit of a different situation to many other problems being reported here.

I am currently running Windows 7 and for some reason the system can only detect HDMI as the only valid audio output, rendering the default audio jacks useless and silent.

The sound chip is integrated on the PC's ASRock AMD790GX mother board (M3A790GXH/128M model if I remember correctly). Installing the manufacturer's Vista drivers has not made any difference.

If someone has found the same issue or somehow solved it, please reply.

Thank you in advance.

A:Audio output limited to HDMI - ASRock AMD790GX

asteroth, welcome to the forums.

If you haven't check in the bios and make sure that the onboard is enabled. According to the manual the default is supposed to be Auto, which is suppoesed to disable the onboard when a PCI sound card is detected. It is possible that it is disabling the onboard due to the audio chip built into the onboard viddeo. If it is set to auto, set it to enabled and that should fix it.

Yeah, I was wondering whether the massive Silver Arrow would fit inside a Fractal Define R3, with AsRock Z68 Pro3 and Ripjaws DDR3 inside? It'd be a killer setup, though not so killer if the Ripjaws can't fit and the side panel of R3 won't close...

A:Will Silver Arrow fit inside Fractal R3 with AsRock Z68 Pro3 and Ripjaws?

Silver Arrow is 160mm, however I did read a review that states differently.

Most list the spec at 160mm in height. WRONG!!! It is exactly 167mm in height or 6.57 inches.Click to expand...

Fractal Define R3 allows 165mm height for CPU coolers.

A:Motherboard Asrock N68C-S UCC RAM problem

Yep,well friends,i just readed there, and unfortunately i cannot use both types together DDR2+DDR3.I have to keep the DDR3 up to speed, connected and i won't try again to put them all together.
Quote from "HARDWARE SECRETS" : " Even though it is not a socket AM3 motherboard, the ASRock N68C-S UCC supports DDR3 memories (blue sockets). It is very important to keep in mind that you have to choose between one or the other. You cannot use DDR2 and DDR3 modules at the same time, and you can install DDR3 memories only if you install a socket AM3 processor on this motherboard. If you install a socket AM2 or AM2+ CPU, it won?t recognize DDR3 memories. "
So,i hope nowone gets mad because i started this thread, but i know,i must confess i should have read that before i post this topic.Sorry guys.

So im in a bit of trouble here with my computer
I was mucking around with my wireless adapter and for some reason took it out and plugged it back in while the computer was still on, and the metal bracket where the antenna plugs into touched my motherboard which caused my computer to reset itself.
The adapter is fine but now my computer has lost the ability to output sound. Ive tried all the jacks with my speaker system, and also with a set of headphones but nothing works. The volume control still shows that sound should be playing but theres no output.

Is there anything i can do here or did i screw up something on my motherboard permanently?

All other sounds come through fine, but voices are very distant and low volume. When listening to music it sounds like karaoke. I don't think there is anything physically wrong with the headphone jack since all other sound comes through both speakers. The laptop speakers work fine. When I have the laptop on the dock, stereo speakers plugged into the dock work fine. The audio settings are set to stereo speakers. There are soundmax drivers (version and legacy audio drivers installed. Any help?

Basically when I try to speak on teamspeak or with any other sound recording program, my output comes out of my microphone. IE. If im listening to music, music will come out of my mic :S. Obviously i'm trying to fix it so that when I actually speak, my voice comes out.

A Red X on your speaker Icon signifies that the speakers are not plugged in, Are these powered speakers? Are they plugged into the Green Speaker jack in the Back of the computer not the front as those are weaker? Have you tried a different set of speakers?

So this morning I went into a mumble server that I normally go into and I find that I can't hear anyone. When I spoke to them through the mic, they all told me that they heard me.

One solution that I tried was to reconfigure the audio using the audio wizard. The first test that comes up is supposed to have a sample voice, but I heard nothing.

This problem most likely occured last night when I forgot to turn mumble off, and my mother was using the computer. She didn't know what was going on so she restarted the computer. I don't really know if that is the problem.

Have you installed the audio drivers? Check device manager to see if you have a yellow exclamation mark next to the audio device, if so, you need to install the drivers.

Windows XP, some crappy SigmaTel audio as far as I can tell.

My problem regards the mic input and speaker output. I cannot get the speakers to play what the computer is hearing through the mic input. Normally this isn't a big deal, but my brother and I record from our keyboard (as in a piano keyboard) occasionally, with which we use the mic line to record from.

Since we can't hear the mic input, we can't hear the keyboard notes at all until we stop the recording and replay it! The computer IS recording sound, but it's not playing the input through the speakers.

Does anyone have any ideas? If you need more information about the computer just let me know exactly what you need, I'm never quite sure what info to include in posts.

Recently I've come across the problem of having no audio on my HP Pavilion dv9700 Notebook PC, it simply tells me that 'No Audio Output device is installed'. I upgraded my computer from Vista to 7 and for 5 months had no problems. I've tried to install things such a Realtek and also tried to Scan for Hardware Changes and Update driver software, but nothing has worked. Also, in my device manager, under Other Devices there are 3 yellow signs with exclamation marks in front of 'Coprocessor' and also in front of two 'pcouffin' devices, I have no idea whether these are the roots of the problem or not. Is there any way that I can fix this problem?

Problem devices can cause a range of problems. You need to address them.

Take a read of this:

I'm not sure if I'm just losing my mind or what...but I'm really stumped. I just installed a new Asrock P4i45G motherboard with a Pentium 4 Intel 845 chip (I think) and everything seems to be working fine except for my floppy drive. My operating system is Win98 SE. I didn't reformat my hard drive. I just hooked it up and added all the new drivers. Windows recognizes my "A drive" but can't read any diskette. I've double checked all connections and I know the drive is a working one. I also tried with a substituted working drive but I have the same problem. The computer keeps thinking it needs to format the diskette but even then it can't carry through with the command.
Any ideas?

Make sure there are no loose wires making contact with the mobo. Also check the standouts; make sure they are fully screwed in the case and the mobo is firmly screwed into standouts - don't over tighten. Make sure there is nothing behind the mobo - in between mobo and case.

Next thing to check is the CPU. Make sure it's firmly seated and installed correctly and you've applied thermal paste. Not to over do it on the thermal paste

Hey Guys,

Having a problem with a new ASRock setup. Motherboard won't seem to POST; it gets hung up on code 0xb7 "Configuration Reset (reset of NVRAM settings)". Since the motherboard won't post, I can't even get into the BIOS. Tried booting without the SSD, and without the video card. Tried resetting the CMOS. Anything else I could try before trying to RMA the board?

Hello everybody! Sorry for any error but I am from Italy.

I have a problem with Windows 10 installed on my Macbook Pro Retina 13".
When I am in battery mode and monitor turns off for the energy saving (whatever interval time I choose), if I have not any app using the audio (for example Media Player), the computer disconnects the audio output. So, the sound come out from the internal speakers. I can just solve disconnecting and connecting again the jack in the audio output.

If I run a music program, I have no problem.

If I use the power cable, I have no problem. With or without any music program running.

How can I solve this issue?

Hope I was quite clear explaining my problem.

Thanks for your help!

I had the same prob. After hours of research on the web I joined this forum but still no solutions. I waited for answers to your post but still nothing meanwhile I kept looking and I found this somewhere:
1. Select IDT High Definition Audio CODEC on Device Manager.
2. Select Driver tab.
3. Click Update Driver... button.
4. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
5. Select Let me pickup a list of device drivers on my computer.
6. Select High Definition Audio Device (Not IDT High Def... this is important.) and click Next.
Appears Warning message, but reply Yes.
7. Windows has successfully update your driver software.
It did solve my prob but I can't tell if it'll help you. Anyways I'm no expert I'm just trying to help cause this prob made me really frustrated.

Hello everyone, this is my first build and everything went fine until I try installing windows 7. So for me it gets past the starting windows screen and then it freezes on the setting your language and country screen. There is also no way out of this and I had to turn the computer off. Then I tried installing the CD that came with the mother board. It then say saying generate serial ATA driver Diskette? [Y/N]. At first I said yes and what came up was a screen that said the supported drive was not found: Floppy 1.44mb and USB drive! If I press no it just asks me to reboot. I have looked for solutions to this and haven't come across any that worked.

A:Problem with windows 7 install and Asrock drivers install on Asrock z77 extreme 4

hi there:

complete specs on your system would help. troubleshooting a custom-build computer system that has thousands of different makes/models of components can be tricky to say the least.

You should download and run SPECCY, and post the report here.

Check your cables that they are in place and secure, and all your connections to the hard drive and your RAM modules are seated correctly.

Are you using a Microsoft Windows7 licensed cd or a copy you borrowed from a friend?

Have you tested your hard drive? Is it new in anti-static bag when you got it? Or is it used from an older system you had?

If you have a spare SATA hard drive, you can swap out with your existing SATA drive and try your Win7 load again. If it fails, you could have a Motherboard, RAM, or cable connection problem.

Answering some of these questions and posting your specs will help us to help you!

Hello all

I have just purchased the Asrock K7S8X Motherboard on the recommendation of a friend who works in the Computer industry. I am forever spending cash on PC's + upgrades and so this mobo seemed excellent at the price.

However, I have been trying to find as much out about it as poss on the Net and find that things like FSB can't be upgraded (forgive me, but I know very little on this stuff) - does this mean that i can't overclock - or eseentially speed it up.

I hope this makes sense - I had wanted to learn about all the ways of really getting the most out of the mobo etc and hope that I haven't limited myself with this MOBO.

Could anyone familiar with this board fill me In please?

hello,I just built a computer on an asrock z77 extreme 4 motherboard.  I successfully installed windows7 but have an exclamation point in device manager.I was able to extract and install XfastLAN but I still have no connectivity, and thus an exclamation point for ethernet controller.I went right to the asrock site below and grabbed everything I could and put it on a flash drive: I am not installing the driver properly.  I basically just copied the file on the desktop, extracted it there, and installed the exe (it said it was 'installed correctly'), then rebooted (which was my choice).  I now have an icon in the notification doesn't seem like this is the driver at all.  asrock gives no documentation on their site that I can see.any guidance will be most appreciated as always.

A:Asrock motherboard Alive NF6G-DVI fault?

NForce 4 based motherboards are known to have USB issues, although yours appears to be more serious and may simply be a faulty board.

Download and update to the latest BIOS:

Download and install the latest NForce drivers:

Download and install the AMD Processor Driver Version for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 (x86 and x64):,,30_182_871_9706,00.html

Download and install the AMD Dual-Core Optimizer Version 1.1.4:,,30_182_871_9706,00.html

You can also add a PCI USB 2.0o controller card to the system rather then scrapping it if its over a year old and off warranty.

if i only connect the 6 to the 8 holes will it work?
if i connect 8 and have two pins overhanging will that work?
do i need to buy and adapter for 6 to 8 or 10 to 8?

A:Problem with sound: No Audio Output Device is Installed. LAPTOP: VAIO

The Intel Display Audio is ONLY for HDMI Audio and not the regular PC audio. The first thing to check is the BIOS to verify the on-board audio is enabled. Normally, if the on-board is enabled in the BIOS but no hardware specific driver is installed Windows will install the generic "High Definition Audio Codec" driver. As this is not happening, it suggests either it is disabled in the BIOS or remotely it has a hardware problem.

If it is enabled in the BIOS, first thing to do is reinstall the motherboard chipset drivers from Sony. If the chipset drivers are corrupt all the devices could be mis-identified. Restart the PC after installing the chipset drivers and see if Windows detects and installs the High Definition Audio Drivers. If it still does not install, either the Windows 7 Operating System is corrupt and you will have to do a complete new install, or there is a hardware problem with the sound chip.,

Hi mate!

It is possible that your power supply unit is not powerful enough to support your new GPU while working in full load (like when you play games or run the DX tests). If you can borrow a better PSU and check you can see if the problem is there.

Also, some motherboards do not support newer cards without BIOS updates. Go to asrock's site and check if your card is in their list for your motherboard and with what BIOS in use.

I'm having an issue with my audio, the problem is that my volume is extremely low even with maxed out settings in realtek audio manager and speakers turned all the way up. I have tried installing and reinstalling drivers from MB drivers and directly from Realtek to no avail.

I've searched on endlessly on a few forums and could not find a fix for my problem. Is there anything else I could try? I've tried changing to 5.1/different bitrates/fresh Win7 install/different version drivers. Im exhausted

Might have to resort to change my MB maybe?

A:Realtek HD Audio Very Very Low Volume - Mb: ASRock Z77Extreme3

First thing is the sound driver. You should be using the ASRock supplied RealTek sound driver. What do you show for sound devices in the Device Manager? You should have HDMI Audio (Video card) and the RealTek sound driver. If you have something else such as the generic Windows installed HD Audio Codec that is one of your problems.

I assume you are using "powered" speakers (ones with their own power amplifier). If not, that is most likely the problem as powered speakers are required. Plug a headset into the GREEN speaker jack on the rear and see if you get adequate sound, if the headset works OK then the problem is in your speaker system and not the PC.

If the headphone sound is also low, its back to the PC.

I've got an ASRock motherboard and am using it's onboard sound card (C Media 6501). This morning it's suddenly decided that whenever a sound is played, be it the beep when i've got new mail, when someone signs in on msn, when playing mp3's, or when listening to online streaming radio, all i hear is constant hissing from my speakers which stops the moment i stop the audio.

I've tried installing the latest drivers. I've tried uninstalling the drivers and using the Windows legacy ones. System restore is not an option as i have it turned off. I'm stumped as to what else i can try.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium on my Dell Inspiron E1505.

I have had no problems with it for several years; however, recently my computer has booted with a red 'X' on my audio and tells me that "No Audio Output Device is Installed." I checked my Drivers and my High Definition Sound and 2 Base System Device drivers have Yellow Question Marks by them. I tried to update the drivers manually but it says Windows Cannot Find Support for your Base System Device and it says my High Definition Audio is already up to date. I have also tried uninstalling the drivers and rebooting Windows to let the system automatically search and update the drivers. This too has failed. I do not have my Windows 7 disc available at the moment to be able to do a clean install.

Any help you could give would be greatly appreciated.

I have gone through the whole update drivers circus to no avail, my laptop can't detect that it has speakers built in so it doesn't bother finding a driver for them.

This is where I am at:
- Intel Display Audio is the only driver installed for sound
- This means that sound works when the laptop is plugged into an HDMI
- When HDMI is not plugged in, the computer cannot find the built in speakers.
- I have Linux on this system and audio does not work there as well

I would call this a broken chipset, but the fact that the computer still processes audio with the HDMI cable attached is confusing me. Also, the 'audio board' for this laptop has 2 usb ports attached to it, and those both work fine.

Any help would be appreciated

Hello all First off I would like to say thanks in advance Ok here s my problem Last July I bought a Dell Inspiron E It worked fine for a few months but then I started having troubles with my speakers they would just stop working for no reason I would turn of the power on the speakers and unplug them from my laptop I would wait a few problem (audio ports). Motherboard seconds plug them in and they would work again Then I decided to buy a headset so I could use SKYPE Once again problems SKYPE wouldn t recognize the headset or microphone I tried listening to music with Motherboard problem (audio ports). the headphones and nothing I made sure to try them out on my friend s Mac and they worked perfectly I contacted Dell and after a lot of back and forth they told me that I had a defective audio port on my motherboard They also said I needed to replace the entire thing The problem is that I left the USA I m living in South Korea in September so I would have to pay to have it shipped to the USA not to mention it would take much longer My question is this If it is a problem with a the audio port is it possible to repair it If so I ll try to find a shop here in Busan What really annoys me is that today I plugged in the headset and it worked find I was able to talk to my buddy in Madrid no problem When I hung up I disconnected the headset and connected my speakers and NOTHING No sound Well thanks in advance for any help suggestions Oh yeah I m running Windows XP and the motherboard is a Calistoga GM at least that is what the Dell sales rep told me nbsp

A:Motherboard problem (audio ports).

Have you ever tried using a USB interface headset?

This way you dont even have to plug it into your audio output jacks on your motherboard. I use the audio output jacks for my speakers on my motherboard, but I use a USB headset for when I play games and want to talk to others online. This might be a simple solution for you because it will totally bypass the need to use the bad ports and it will work fine for what you want to do. They also make usb speakers with their own built-in soundcards, so you wouldnt need the jacks for that either.

Can anyone help me? I have an L7VMM3 motherboard with Windows XP PRO SP2 installed. On 2nd September I received message from Microsoft saying that I had to verify my copy of XP, even though I have a genuine version from microsoft themselves. On doing this I was asked to punch in all the numbers on the verification page after ringing a free phone number for them. Since that day I have been unable to have any sound on my machine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both windows and the motherboard drivers, but to no avail. I have also been onto various sites for the proper sound drivers and installed those, but again, no joy.
The drivers are VIA AC`97 sound drivers.
Can someone please come to my rescue?

Hi guys I'm having a little problem with my onboard audio having just installed Windows clean install I have an Asus P Z -V LE PLUS motherboard which includes a quot Realtek ALC -Channel High Definition Audio CODEC quot onboard I have installed the latest realtek drivers R from the official website Now here's my problem when I was using Windows on this same machine I could plug headphones in the front panel connector as well as speakers in the green back panel connector This would give me two audio outputs in the device manager sound list which a at HD one shows time output only Audio Realtek audio was pretty practical and enabled me to output different applications through the speakers or the headphones Now however there's only one output irrelevant of whether or not I have two outputs plugged in at the same time They appear in the device manager as a single device called quot speakers quot see picture Instead of both having separate outputs they both output exactly the same audio Any solution to this

A:Realtek HD Audio only shows one audio output at a time

Hello audiobreak,

Try going into the Realtek HD Audio Manager (Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Realtek HD Audio Manager), then look for a setting called 'Make front and rear output devices playback two different audio streams simultaneously'. I cannot remember where this is located (The Realtek HD Audio Manager has different skins depending on the motherboard vendor), but for an ASUS Motherboard, I believe you click the Cog Icon in the top left and the option should be in there. I don't know if this will create a separate Playback Device for the Front Panel in Window's Playback Devices, but it will at least allow you to hear audio from both your speakers and headphones at the same time.

Hope this helps.

Im having the dreadful "No Audio Output Device is Installed" problem on my realtek audio.

It worked some months ago, but im in no position to do a roll back. Im sure the hardware is just fine, it works with Ubuntu.

The computer is a Dell Vostro 430.
My OS is win7 64bit.

I tried the newest Realtek driver suite, the recommended dell-drivers and some basic windows-drivers. Nothing makes the "No Audio Output Device is Installed" go away.

Any help is welcome.
Ive attached my sound-related reg. I believe my realtek device is 0001.

A:Realtek Audio: No Audio Output Device is Installed

The Dell driver is required, non Dell drivers will either not work or not work correctly.

First thing, is the Integrated Audio enabled in the BIOS? (F2 at boot up to enter Setup).

Second, on Dell's (and many others) if the motherboard chipset drivers were not installed, the sound device will not work. In this model there are Intel motherboard chipset drivers. Try installing them and then the Dell sound driver. Dell Drivers

I have no audio at all since the last update from windows 10 in early April.  I am showing a No audio output device installed on the audio icon on my computer.  When I go to device manager it shows that I have no sound components and an error code 39.  This is starting to really frustrate me.  I have tried everything and nothing works.  Be it said I am not an IT person and am limited in my knowledge of computers, but still I am pretty sure it can be a simple fix.

A:"Audio output device not installed", code 10, presario v3020US problem

I notice you mention the chipset drivers. In most cases the chipset drivers must be installed before installing sound drivers. If you haven't installed in this order, give it a try. I've also seen cases where the install was not initially done with the correct install sequence and after many different tries, it finally will take a new/correct sequence install to get everything working. On many PC's the correct install sequence is (1) Install Windows (2) Install motherboard chipset drivers (3) Install device drivers including video, sound, ethernet, etc. The chipset drivers are key to a successful install as one of the prime things they do is define (identify) all the devices on the motherboard.

Also, it could be a BIOS problem. Make sure the audio is enabled in the BIOS. You may want to reset the BIOS and see what that does. Check the Compaq BIOS resetting procedure (on most desktops you can just Power off the PC and remove the CMOS backup battery for about 10 minutes, but that's not alway easy on a Laptop).

A:Audio configuration no audio output devices?

If its not being detected at all in the Device Manager, it will not show up anywhere else.

When you boot up your PC, enter the BIOS (could be called "Setup") and check to see if the sound is disabled. If it is disabled in the BIOS it will not show up in Windows. If its showing as enabled in the BIOS, do a BIOS reset (to factory setup) and see if that makes a difference.

If its not disabled in the BIOS there is a chance the hardware has failed.

A few weeks ago my usb-ports and internet port stopped working suddenly, i solved this by using a usbhub connect to the front usb ports and i had to reinstall my internetport driver each time i started my pc.

Now since yesterday it became worse, now all the ports of my motherboard seem to stopped working, my front usbports are also down and even worse .. my dvi ports also stopped working so i can't even login to my pc anymore.

I tried resetting cmos by unplugging powercord and removing the battery ... but still nothing works ,i also tried resetting with the jumpers but also that didn't work Thx to this i'm in real bad situation as i need my files for school on this PC.

I would be so happy if my problem could be solved here.

Hi welcome to the forum

ok when you use the onboard vga sound works when using onboard in play back devices do the speakers show up? when you installed the graphics card which what graphic card did you put in? probably has an audio chip on the card. when the graphics card is installed go to bios and make sure audio is enabled.

A:motherboard won't output video

OEM PC's (ie: Dell, HP, etc.) require a power supply upgrade for addon video card usage. Size will depend upon your hardware specs. Min size would be 550W. And quality is more important than size. Corsair or Seasonic.

The reboots would seem to indicate a power issue (ie: low power output).

I've been having a rather irritating problem with my NVIDIA graphics card. Ever since I installed the card, it has been outputting sound through the card instead of through my onboard audio. Since I do not want to purchase an HDMI to DVI cable to play sound through my monitor, I was wondering how to redirect the audio to play through my motherboard so I can hear sound again. I have tried resetting BIOS settings, reinstalling all drivers for sound card, motherboard, and gpu, and I have poked around 100's of forums, and tried everything. I'm even considering buying a different brand of card because this stupid thing has created so many problems.

A:No video output. Possible motherboard issue?

The CPU heatsink fan should be connected to the CPU power connector on the motherboard. It should be labeled as such. If the motherboard doesn't detect the CPU fan connected to that connector, I believe it is supposed to shut down to avoid damage.

I can't get Dual BIOS to kick in, either (no switch on this board so I have to use the power cycling trick).

I'm running a Dell XPS which came with Windows Vista I decided this morning that I was going to give Windows a try backed up some media on another PC and did a completely fresh install Everything worked perfectly I didn't even Audio Output Installed" Audio Device "No working, stops have to install any drivers Audio stops working, "No Audio Output Device Installed" My native resolution was automatically correct the sound worked Audio stops working, "No Audio Output Device Installed" the internet worked everything was dandy It worked perfectly and for the record I really enjoyed it I used it for several hours getting used to the new features and whatnot I went to sleep for a few hours and then went out for a while When I came back the sound had stopped working It gave me no error at the time it just didn't work WinAmp wouldn't play my MP s Youtube videos were without audio system sounds weren't playing and yet the volume was enabled and at an audible level of My speakers were still connected properly too I figured maybe a reboot was in order and when I restarted there was no sound still Now however the speaker taskbar icon had a red x next to it with the words quot No Audio Output Device is installed quot on the tooltip I rebooted again and there was no change Using the Windows trouble shooter it says that quot Hardware changes might not have been detected quot The odd thing is this has happened to me before with Windows Vista I wanted to perform a clean re-install of Vista and when I did so the sound worked perfectly for a few hours before going out again I would re-install Vista and the sound would come back and then go away again after several hours with no logical rhyme or reason About five Vista reformats in the problem ceased and it worked for upwards of a year and was still working when I decided to try When it started happening on I figured alright I've got nothing to lose and re-installed again Didn't work Now it installed without sound at all and three additional re-install attempts have gotten the same results I'd really appreciate it if maybe somebody had some ideas I really want to give this a go for a while

A:Audio stops working, "No Audio Output Device Installed"

Hi filmtrauma, welcome to the forums.

While you have been asleep, Windows Update may have installed a new Sound driver for you which may have caused this error. Open Windows Update and click 'View Update History'....

You could try downloading the latest drivers from the hardware manufacturer, a lot are now supporting Windows 7 too..

Also, is your sound hardware plugged in (to the motherboard) securely? It's rare but i've dealt with some cases of hardware coming loose, might be worth a look. Another thing to check may be the temperature of the card, it may be getting overly hot due to a dust build up (might not be, i'm not 100% up-to-date on all sound hardware).

Hope this helps

Hi to all.

On my Dell OptiPlex 755 E6550 2.33, I've had intermittent issues with the headphone socket suddenly stopping working for quite some time, sometimes problem is auto detected and fixed, sometimes I download a driver or three to resolve. This time nothing is helping no matter what drivers I've tried. Have Win 7 Ultimate installed with just on-board sound. No sound or audio shows up in device manager? Are 755's fickle with on-board sound or just too many sound drivers installed? Any ideas please.

A:Dell OptiPlex 755 No Audio Output device and no Sound/Audio in Device Manager

There could be multiple hidden audio devices.
* Press windows key + R* Enter cmd, click OK* Type cd\ [press Enter]* Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 [press Enter]* Type devmgmt.msc [press Enter]* Once the Device Manager opens, open Sound and see if you have multiple grey out items. If yes, delete them, then restart the computer and retest

A:ram not working with p67 pro3

I once tried to use four DIMMs that were originally from two triple channel kits (used on an X58 motherboard) on a P67 board. I couldn't get the RAM to run at its rated frequency (DDR3-1600) by any manual settings (timings, voltage).

Maybe you should try a dual channel kit or two. DDR3 is pretty cheap at the moment, at least in the USA.

Has anyone here been able to obtain or write a BartPE plugin for CDBurnerXP Pro3?

I have downloaded one or two and none work. This is a good program and I would like to get it running on a BartPE disk.

A:CDBurnerXP Pro3

Just a point of curiousity.

What is the burning desire to create a full-featured boot CD? Do you really use it that often? I'd think if you need a BartPE disk all that often, you may need to consider fixing the systems that you keep needing it for.

Not trying to pick on you, I'm really just curious as to what it's being used for.

I have a motherboard that will boot into windows (I memorized how to get to notepad and print) and did that test and it prints, but I can't see anything on the monitor. I have tried different video cards and monitors but for whatever reason this board won't initialize video, no video card, ISA, PCI or AGP sends video to the monitor. I have tried different PSU's, ram and cpus but all end up with the same result unit beeps accesses the floppy and starts booting without video.

I'm not sure what the problem is, for now I'm declaring this thing dead unless something amazing happens. Any ideas? I think this must be a bios issue but I'm not sure if changing it would help, what kind of hardware failure could cause this? It would have to be VERY specific.

A:No Display output after disabling video driver on motherboard.

Welcome to TSG.
If you didn't previously told the computer to have dual display, meaning allowing an external monitor, it will be hard to do anything and you might have to install everything from the original disks, unless you have some kind of a networking already set up on that computer and you could access your files from the network to save your files

I'm unable to receive TV sound from my TV in Windows 7 AMD HDMI output line. Although the jacks are plugged in to both TV and PC the display box indicates the line is disabled although I've enabled it. I also checked for an updated driver and replugged lines without success. The PC speakers do reproduce audio. Please advise

I've read dozens of topics relating to these questions yet have found no answers. I'm looking for a software solution NOT hardware.

1. How can I record the Windows 7 Text 2 Speech voice?

2. How can I playback the recording through a program(WMP, MPC, etc) and have it go though the mic instead of speakers? Pretty much I want the text to speech to act as my voice for a mic. I don't care if there is no speaker output while this is happening.

A:PC Audio output to Mic

A microphone jack is an INPUT, it's not an OUTPUT.

But, if you have a "System Mixer" (may be called Stereo Mix or What You Hear) then you can record what you are hearing on the PC speakers using a program such as the free "Audacity". Record with Audacity and save the file as either wav or MP3. You can then play it back with any media player.

Hello TSG Community,

Recently I noticed my computer has very low sound output. Could a virus have affected this?

I have checked my speakers with another set which produces the same result. Since I am not too savvy with computers I started reading other forums and one indicated I should remove the restore points on my computer, reboot, and to run a anti-virus application. Once anti-virus was complete, I had a trojan virus called "byteverify", which I removed.
I have checked the following to make sure they are all in correct working order:
Realtek application - Checked
2 Ch speakers - Checked
XP OS Audio Control Panel - Checked

Any Suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

A:Low Audio Output for XP OS

Check the volume of both the "master" line, and the WAV line on your audio properties. Sometimes the "master" can be set at maximum, but the WAV will be at minimum, and not be very loud.

also, if you have "powered" speakers (that plug in or run on batteries), make sure they are powered on.
