Hi folks, I've got a Pavilion dv6-3138tx, product number QC331PA#ABG. I can't work out how to enable bluetooth - I'm not sure if there was an update to my machine recently, but there's no longer a bluetooth option in my system tray. I can see the device in BIOS so it's definitley there. I've had bluetooth working on this laptop before, connected to wireless headphones, and I'd like to set it up again. Windows update is all up to date, and I can see an 'unknown device' in device manager but apparently no drivers available... any ideas?
I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
#HPExpertDayThe deice icon might be disabled from system tray but would be available on the device.cick on start and type 'control panel'. Choose control panel and you would see bluetooth icon there. if not then click on 'Devices and Printer' and find the icon there. You can install Network Manager for your device from dervers page:http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07165http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Bluetooth-not-available-on-Pavilion-dv6-3138tx/td-p/5627839

I have recently bought brand new hp pavilion dv6 laptop. I haven't use the bluetooth feature till today when I needed to transfer a file from laptop to my mobile. This computer is great. Everything runs perfectly and makes it easy to adjust to windows 10. The only problem I have is that I have no Bluetooth radio in the computer but there is a Bluetooth function on the software. I need to know if there is a Bluetooth radio for this device to install or if there a software to install to fix this issue.

Can someone tell me where where that screen is and how I can use Bluetooth with my pc? I can't plug outboard speakers into the jack because it's damaged and doesn't connect because someone accidentally kicked the speaker cable and damaged the the jack. Thanks
Hi: Below is the link to the product specs page for your notebook. It does not come with built in bluetooth networking, or that feature would have been listed along with the 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN Wireless Connectivity specification. The easiest thing you can do would be to purchase an external USB bluetooth adapter. You can also try and replace the internal wireless card with one listed in the service manual for your notebook that is also a combination wireless/bluetooth card. The card must be listed in the service manual and it must have the HP part number on it or it won't work. Because your notebook has an AMD processor, you cannot install any Intel wireless cards if any are listed in the manual.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Does-my-HP-Pavilion-g7-2275dx-Notebook-PC-have-bluetooth/td-p/5596858

Need exact model and the big question is whether it is in the "whitelist" era. Generally anything with a 4th gen Intel Core or newer is past the whitelist and you can install any wireless or wifi-bluetooth card of the same form factor as long as you have at least 2 antennae which I believe the G6 models do.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Wifi-and-Bluetooth-module-for-Pavilion-G6/td-p/5786320

Well your DM4 was built for Windows 7, so it depends if HP wrote Bluetooth drivers that will work under Windows 8. A quick check of HP's support site, shows that they have updated software for the DM4 series.

There is a Bluetooth driver under networking.
The only other thing is to check the Device Manager and see if the Bluetooth is even recognized. If it isn't listed (could be listed as a generic unknown device if the driver isn't installed), you may have a hardware problem.
Check all that and install the driver. If it is still not listed in the Device Manager, go buy a $14 Bluetooth 4.0 usb device. Asus has a great one on Amazon. It should work great and will be more up current standards since it is 4.0.

Hi: What model wireless netowork adapter does your notebook have? You install the corresponding model bluetooth driver for the model wireless network adapter your notebook has. I doubt you will get the ACPI\ACPI000E device to install on W7. I have zipped up and attached the driver for it, but most of the time it won't install. You have to manually install it by browsing to the driver folder from the device in the device manager.

I was having the same issues as listed above, also using windows 7. Everything would install but I could not access settings for the blue tooth dongle, What I did to fix this was entered the services settings (windows search - services -) and check everything that says bluetooth. also change all settings to automatic.
Hi!I tried to reinstall the drivers for wireless, but it seems that the device manager recognizes that the notebook has bluetooth (Ralink_RT3290), however, it does not function. Does anyone knows whether the Acer Aspire 5253-BZ661 laptop has a built-in bluetooth device in it? Reading from articles on the internet, I don't see any information regarding this laptop's particular model having a built-in bluetooth device in it but has a bluetooth driver and suite ready for the download at the acer main site.
May be a option on some models.http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/166828-bluetooth-driver-acer-aspire-5253-bz661-but-no-bluetooth-hardware.html
installed intel ac-3160 dual band + blue tooth in a Sony notebook system wont allow blue tooth to start.
also there is no interface available to connect any hardware to it, i know it has something to do with some Vaio software on the system.
it allows me to use dual band mode and it shows that blue tooth is present but disables it claiming interference with 2.4 GHz band.
now i have had blue tooth dongles installed working while using 2.4 GHz band before with no issues, so i don't get the issue now.
any input would be appreciated.
thankx Karl K

So i spent the entire day trying to figure out why my Bluetooth installed fine but after one restart it disappeared and it wouldn't come back. I finally figured it out that the FN+F2 (wireless/bluetooth switches) is what enables/disabled it HAHAHAHAHA.
default (after startup): WiFi on / BT off
first time: WiFi on / BT ON yay~!
second time: WiFi off / BT on
third time: WiFi off / BT off
I hope this helps people with their bluetooth issues =)
Windows 8 was able to install all my Function Keys so I'm going to assume this will be the case for others. Good luck

I just set up win 8 on my computer and was going thru the process of connecting my bluetooth mouse and my bluetooth keyboard. My mouse connected automatically, no problems. One of my friend in India purchased "HCL ME Sync 1.0 (U3) Tablet (WiFi, 3G via Dongle) by HCL" online . It says in many places that it supports Bluetooth but when I saw this I couldn't find any option for the bluetooth and don't know how to turn it on. Is there any one who has purchased it and help me out to turn the bluetooth on or how can we transfer files with some other bluetooth device. Even I couldn't find much good information on internet.
I don't see it listed in the spec sheet, nor the user guide.
On both of my android 4.2 devices, Bluetooth is listed after Wi-fi in Settings. I would think it's the same w/ android 4.1. It's possible the tablet doesn't have bluetooth.
I recently installed the latest version of the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack (v9.10.32T) for one of my desired applications to properly function. However, connecting my Bluetooth headphones through Toshiba's bluetooth manager does not seem to support the media buttons on the headset. These include Play/Pause and seek buttons. Before the Bluetooth stack, when I used my default bluetooth driver for connection, these controls had worked fine.
Also, there does not seem to be a specific setting to fix this in the Toshiba Bluetooth Stack Options.
How would I go about getting these controls back?

So if i click on Send Files, it says " select where to send your files" with a large box under it which i cannot type in. If i press recieve files, it says " windows was unable to transfer some files, an address incompatible with the requested protocol was used.
So i dont know how to fix this!?! Help please? I'm trying to send videos from my phone to my computer via bluetooth!
I have a Dell Latitude E6410 laptop running W7 64 bit Pro, 8 Gig Memory. Would goning to a Bluetooth keyboard and a Bluetooth mouse create problems, or should I just stay with the wired connections? The keyboard and the mouse as of this time would be my only bluetooth devices. It does have the internal Bluetooth.
Thanks in Advance
no it shouldn't ...do you just want lack of cords?? if you have a set in mind post a link to it and we might be able to advise whether its good purchase or not
Hello I have an issue with my Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter Bluetooth LIT Adapter's USB Is Bluetooth OFF? Light IS When Blue - Version Class Smart Ready Adapter Model No MUA-BA Let me explain Okay I have setup my Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter with the drivers for my Windows operating system USB Bluetooth Adapter's Blue Light IS LIT When Bluetooth Is OFF? Now when I plug this USB Bluetooth adapter into my USB port connector on my desktop computer it automatically lights up with a blue light on the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter itself and on my Windows system tray notification area I get the Bluetooth icon displayed as ON Then I go ahead and pair the computer and my device s example a Smartphone to connect which they do successfully When I am done using the Bluetooth technology I disconnect the Bluetooth connection from each device and then instead of leaving your USB Bluetooth adapter ON with my Windows operating system I go into my Windows system tray notification area and select Turn Adapter OFF I then get the red Bluetooth icon in my Windows system tray notification area demonstrating that my Bluetooth is indeed OFF and the Bluetooth blue light on the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter goes OFF or is not lit any longer Okay so far so good everything is normal However when I shutdown my Windows operating system and then restart the computer at some later point I notice that the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter still shows on my Windows system tray notification area as OFF okay normal BUT THE BLUE LIGHT ON THE MEDIA LINK USB BLUETOOTH ADAPTER IS NOW ON The only way I can turn off the blue light on the USB Bluetooth adapter is to manually go through the Windows system tray notification area turn ON the Bluetooth technology and then promptly turn back OFF the Bluetooth technology in order for the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter s blue light to go OFF again I find this to be a real pain and chore each time to have to go through these manual steps to turn OFF that Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter s blue light when the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter s blue light SHOULD BE OFF TO BEGIN WITH I would assume after the system re- start and leaving the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter plugged into the USB port connector on my desktop computer if the Bluetooth technology is indeed OFF as set with the Windows operating system settings then the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter s blue light should be OFF as well BUT IT IS NOT I have no intention of consistently plugging in and out the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter when I plan on using it or not but instead leaving the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter always plugged into the my USB port connector on my desktop computer at all times and using the Windows system tray notification area s Bluetooth icon to turn ON and OFF the Bluetooth technology when needed I have contacted Medialink Mediabridge and they have informed me the rationale for this issue quot The only reason the light would be lit is if the bus power from that USB port was running I they looked for ways to manage the bus power settings of the USB host but was unable to find anywhere in the Control Panel that would allow you to adjust that particular setting quot Makes perfect sense to me that the bus power for the USB port is ALWAYS RUNNING and the computer starts the USB ports are powered and therefore the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter is always lit at system start until I turn off the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter via Window 's system tray notification area Specifically the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter is connected to one of the USB ports on the front of my desktop computer The front desktop USB port connects to one of the USB pin connectors on my ASUS P Q motherboard Further I have an OLDER ASUS P Q motherboard that does NOT support Bluetooth as part of its BIOS settings -- PRE-Bluetooth capability Therefore I installed the software on my Windows Professional -bit and drivers that came with my Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapt... Hi, can you give a 20 word or less problem summary please, I got lost in those wordy details.
I am no BT expert or anything, but all I read was complaining about a light being on, which a piece of black electrical tape fixes around my house, regularly *cough* fire alarms.
If the maker of the device doesn't have a solve to your issue... that is usually the end of the road with a cliff.
Bluetooth icon is there bt when it is clicked, it is just keep searching and dont find any near by device. I updated driver as well as check with many driver availbale for the harware but issue is not getting resolved. Please guide me and suggest me the driver link if any other driver is there.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Bluetooth-is-not-searching-any-nearby-bluetooth-device/td-p/5786393
I am having a bluetooth adapter installed on my PC. Now I wanted to connect my Samsung HM1100 headset with it. It paired and everything but during installation of driver it says "NO DRIVER FOUND". I have tried too many times and I have also installed a bluetooth driver "SILICON WAVE BLUETOOTH DRIVER".
Actually its a dongle I'm having. So it didn't require any drivers but it won't connect to my bluetooth headset.
Help will be appreciated.

Probably Windows 10 replaced the original Bluetooth driver with Microsoft driver which doesn't work well, if at all. Go to manufacturer's site and download the Bluetooth driver. If there is no Windows 10 driver, use that of 8.1 This should fix your connectivity problems.http://www.tenforums.com/drivers-hardware/25371-bluetooth-does-not-recognize-pair-see-bluetooth-hardware.html
Hello there community people.
I'm new here and need a serious attention to fix my problem.
I really need some help here,Since two days trying to fix this issue but still no luck.
i do not know how to describe my problem but i have attached one image that shows 'Bluetooth USB' in device manager,
was that normal?furthermore i can't even send any file via bluetooth,Am i missing something here?
You need to give the exact model number for your ASUS.
But have you checked the ASUS website for the bt driver for your model.
In windows 10 mobile, I can go into my bluetooth devices, and 'disconnect' a specific device. In Windows 10, I can only 'remove' the device (which I don't want to do) or turn off BlueTooth altogether.
Does anybody know a way to just disconnect a device? For instance, I want to have my headphones connect to my phone instead of the PC.
'Remove device' is probably not the best choice of words they could have used on this! When you close the process (i.e. 'disconnect' your headphones) on your PC, you are performing the same function as what you describe on your phone. You are not actually removing the device, just closing the process. I hope that makes sense!http://forums.windowscentral.com/windows-10/432936-how-disconnect-bluetooth-device-without-turning-off-bluetooth.html

Hi Sri, Welcome to 8 forums.
On windows type "msconfig" in search field at the start menu and open MSconfig. Go to the Services Tab and search for services related to Bluetooth. If any of them are unchecked they will not load on Windows start so make sure you have checked them.
Keep us posted.
Just wondering what are some fun bluetooth sites that others enjoy. Please post em!

I bought a bluetooth dongle which for some reason isn't working in Windows 7. It shows up in Devices and Printers as "CSR Bluetooth Chip" and when I right click on it and select bluetooth settings, nothing happens. It shows up under Bluetooth Radios in device manager. As a test I tried using it in a Windows 10 VM. When connecting the USB dongle via VirtualBox it was referred to as "Uknnown device 0A12:0001 " and it worked just fine in the VM. Any clue as to what is wrong?

Newegg.com - Kinivo BTH220 Black Bluetooth Stereo Headphone – Supports Wireless Music Streaming and Hands-Free Ca
Newegg.com - Mini Bluetooth USB 2.0 Micro Adapter Dongle
It worked perfect with my Andriod, but the Dongle does not seem to want connect with the headset. It seems the Dongle was not made to work with Windows 7 64bit. The bluetooth dongle will recognize the headset when I try to sync them, but will not actually let them connect for any audio. Here's a pic of the error.
I've tried reconnecting it multiple times. Been searching online for the past few hours for drivers and programs to get it to work, but no such luck. Any help will be appreciated.

4. Double-click Bluetooth Support Service
5. Select Automatic from the Startup type and then click OK

I am having difficulty to get my laptop paired with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone. If I attempt to connect from the cell phone to my pc, a key code is asked for and needs be entered.
My question is how I can get this key code which needs be entered on the Bluetooth Device. On the laptop I navigated from Control Panel and to Bluetooth Devices, then clicked Add Wireless Device, but no device is detected even though the Bluetooth on the cell phone was turned on. Device Manager indicates drivers for the Bluetooth device are installed correctly.

a simple question......will a HP Pavilion 15-n034sa motherboard fit into a HP Pavilion 15-n083sa ?
help me obi-wan youre my only hope!!
Actually that's a hard question, generally its not possible to install another motherboard, sometimes it is. In this case one is an AMD platform and the other is an Intel platform, there could be tons of differences in mounting holes, physical design, clearance, connectors, heat dissipation requirements, cooling systems, etc. Laptops are not like desktops that use more standardized designs.
It looks like neither of the drivers above support bluetooth in Windows 10 Home 64-bit, but someone might be able to help.
The WiGig card's driver is the latest, and the 3YX8R cannot be detected by any means!
Thanks a lot.

My HP Pavilion 500-205t was destroyed by a lightning strike. The HD is o.k. I have purchased an HP Pavilion 500-490 because the specs were very close. I want to use my 205t HD. Both computers are Core i3-4130, have 1 TB 7200 SATA 6G 3.5 HDs, same OS (Windows 7 Pro 64). My question is: can I swap them out, or do I need to get an external HD enclosure and copy the 205t to the 490? If I need the external HD enclosure, looks like aluminum would be best, but would like recommendation for one which would hold my HD.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Can-I-install-my-HP-Pavilion-500-205t-HD-in-HP-Pavilion-500/td-p/5660060

I have been running Windows now for around a year on this machine with few problems nbsp However recently I've run into a - Not Off Bluetooth Bluetooth Available Power problem with my Bluetooth wireless nbsp I was able to nbsp manage both the nbsp Ralink WiFi and Ralink Bluetooth Bluetooth Not Available - Bluetooth Power Off using either the HP Wireless Assistant or the f funciion key nbsp However recently the HPWA stopped working and upon attempting to reload it II get the message that it incompatible with Windows even when using the compatibility mode nbsp Also the f key has stopped Bluetooth Not Available - Bluetooth Power Off working and the only way to disable enable the WiFi adapter is by using the Wihdows network settings nbsp I can live with that Bluetooth Not Available - Bluetooth Power Off nbsp However my bluetooth adapter no longer nbsp shows in Device Manager nor does bluetooth show in the Network Settings panel of Windows nbsp When I attempt to reload the driver from the Support Page I get a message that it cannot be installed because the Bluetooth is powered off nbsp I suspect that this may be caused by a leftover setting in the Wireless Assistant before Windows disabled it ie I had Bluetooth nbsp disabled in HPWA when Windows disabled HPWA nbsp I see a lot of Bluetooth can't connect and various other Bluetooth problems even going into Services and turn on all BTservices nbsp This has no effect nbsp While in Device Settings I don't get any showing for Ralink Bluetooth device I do get the Ralink WiFi device which is on the same sub-board II believe if II run HWINFO it does show the Bluetooth adapter nbsp I'm at a loss and would appreciate any help you can providehttp://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/Bluetooth-Not-Available-Bluetooth-Power-Off/td-p/5827168
Please does my hp15-f1024wm have Bluetooth? I have searched for it everywhere and still can't find it. Its not in the network settings! !!!
Hi: There is no such model as a hp 15-f1024wm. There is a HP 15-f024wm which is probably what you meant to type. Below is the link to the product specs page for the 15-f024wm. http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-15-f000-Notebook-PC-series/7137590/model/7450423/document/c04420347/ It does not come with built in bluetooth, or that feature would have been listed along with the 1x1 802.11b/g/n WLAN wireless connectivity specification. That is why you can't find any bluetooth settings or devices.http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Wireless-and-Networking/where-is-my-Bluetooth/td-p/5833911
hi, can anyone help, i have a dell pda with a bluetooth flash card in it and also a sd card with navigator on it, also i have a bluetooth reciever, i want the pda to pick up a signal from the reciever so i can use the pda for sat navigation, but i cant get the pda to pick up a signal from the reciever, it says no gps signal. anyone help? thanks.
both devices need to have BT enabled and make sure they are set in "discoverable" mode. Use the BT manager on the Axim to find the GPS device, once you see it, try to connect, it will then ask for a PIN, you can prolly find that in the documentation for the gps device, if not try 2003(if it is a Dell device) or 0000(the default used for many BT devices.

So im trying to pair my bluetooth device (Motorola HS820) but how do I pair it and use it as an actual earpiece?
btw im trying to pair it with my laptop Hp Pavilion tx 1000.
i recently got a new phone and have heard about this bluetooth stuff, atm ive only got a filetransfer app running surely thats not all you can do ?
What make/model is the phone? Different manufacturers offer different features for different models.
You can probably download a huge bloated application suite from the phone manufacturer. If you have a Sony-Ericsson, then you can use this really cool program called Float's Mobile Agent.
Music playback is very poor via bluetooth devices. Music plays fine through the laptop speakers, however if I try to use my bluetooth speaker or music receiver the sound quality is poor at best and the music skips. My iPhone and iPad play well through both devices. All of my music is on my computer. I would like to play directly from here. Any suggestions?http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Audio/bluetooth/td-p/5714770
I am on XP home. I just had my laptop fixed by HP and I would like to have the bluetooth icon in my system tray like I did before I had it fixed. When I go to the control panel with my bluetooth device next to the computer and click on bluetooth configuration, it says no device found.
What can I do to get my bluetooth laptop to find my bluetooth Morotola Q? The phone is set up so that it will let other devices find it and when I search for bluetooth devices from the phone, it doesn't find my laptop.
Sounds like bluetooth is presently deactivated.
If you were to advise what model HP it is, someone may be able to advise what steps you need to take.
Also what was wrong with the laptop, and what HP did to fix it may be helpful.
i have a compaq presario laptop and just realised that it did not have a bluetooth driver but in the control panel there is a bluetooth icon which says "bluetooth device browser". i looked for the bluetooth in my device manager folder in my computer but cant find bluetooth. that means i dont have a bluetooth driver...is that correct? so i need to buy a bluetooth adapter? is that correct??? thanks
(my specs: 3gb ram, vista business, 32 bit, compaq cq40, dual core)
seems logical to mehttp://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/bluetooth-416254.html

after 2 years of waiting it seems that ms hv finally fixed x64. I hv been waiting to unlock the potential of my 64bit system and at last it works. unfortunately people like msi hv not released any bluetooth software that works(not that i can find). if anyone knowns how to get bluetooth dongle working on x64, info could reduce extra hair loss. dongle=msi starkey.
Can't see Bluetooth icon in control panel. Why not?
You have to install the driver. What is the make and model# of your computer? If you have a name brand computer (HP, Dell, IBM/Lenovo etc) then go to the manufacturers support/download drivers site either type in your service tag# or your make and model # and download the Bluetooth software for your particular computer model.http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f10/bluetooth-603982.html
I studied in an article about Bluetooth that eight Bluetooth devices form a piconet. Out of which 1 forms a Master and the others a slave. If one Bluetooth device has to send anything to other Bluetooth device, the transfer should go through Master. Two slaves cannot make transfer directly.
My question is that, If we take just 2 Bluetooth devices, There will be a transfer of a file directly. How is the message in the article practical. Please let me know.
