Preferred Solution: Which integrated cpu/motherboard is better?

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Is there a motherbaord that offers integrated graphics within the socket am3/+ region?

A:AM3/+ Motherboard with Integrated Graphics

Yes there is quite a range, one that immediately springs to mind and at good value is the GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2P AMD760G it offers AMD 3000 Radeon graphics but as im a NVIDIA user im not sure what it offers in terms of performance but any integrated graphics are going to be low-end compared to dedicated cards.

Im a bit of a Gigabyte Fanboy so i'd suggest any one of the AM3+ boards they offer with integrated graphics.

Another suggestion i could offer would be to go for one of AMD's new APU's which is a CPU/GPU in 1 chip theyre reasonably affordable and the motherboards that run them (FM1 or FM2 Sockets) are equally affordable.

But ultimately i would suggest along with many others to go for a dedicated graphics card as long as the board you have or are getting along with your power supply are equipped to run it, even if its a low end GT630.

Here is a link of a video card heirachy chart that helps determine performance of integrated video with dedicated that should help you make a decision.

My old motherboard had a problem with the soundcard that wouldn't let it play sound from the right channel and I assumed it was a mobo problem. I just got a new board and it has the SAME problem. The sound works fine out of the front audio ports, but the back port only play left. I had to format/reinstall for something different in between mobos, so I don't think it's a software problem. Could it be my case, or what? Thanks!

A:Integrated Motherboard Soundcard Problem

your motherboard has a soundcard jumper block somewhere on it that is wired to your front panel ports. a bad conenction or disconnected wire there could easily be causing your problem. refer to your motherboard's manual for the pinout specs.

Does anyone know how to get the Windows 7 32 bit drivers for a MCP61PM-GM motherboard. The ethernet card isn't woking. In my device manager it lists my adapter as a NVIDIA nForce 10/100 Mbps ethernet, but the specifications from gateway lists the adapter as a integrated realtek RTL 8201n. I was planning on buying one of he amd fm1 socket processors for my comp due to the fact im lazy and I don't think a new motherboard will fit in my tiny store bought computer case. Was wondering if it was dumb if I just chose to upgrade my cpu to that because I already have a non integrated gpu installed and I just dont wanna be wasting money.

A:Will a CPU with integrated graphics work with my motherboard?

A CPU with integrated graphics won't work unless it is installed on a motherboard that supports it. The motherboard has to be specifically configured for it, so in your case, I doubt that it is.

Am about to look into purchasing a new desktop PC.
No gaming; just normal Sr. Citizen stuff; internet, playing with photos of Grandkid, etc.

Seem like most of the ones in my price range of $ 700 or less come with what is apparently
integrated on the motherboard graphics. No separate graphic card.

About a year ago my graphics card fan on my HP Desktop conked out, but I was able to replace it very easily with a cheap $40 one. Worked just fine again.

If it was all on the Motherboard, I guess I would have had to scrap the whole PC ?

Am I missing anything, and what are your thoughts regarding a new Desktop PC

Thanks, as always,

I want to add a Fx 5500 Pci Graphics Card. How do I disable the onboard one? Model #T3025.

A:Emachine motherboard integrated video

deisable onboard

There should be a setting in the bios to change that. To get to the bios, hit f2, del, or some other key(should say in the manual) while the computer is booting. Under one of the categories you should see a setting about the onboard video. It may have options like onboard or auto, or onboard, auto, or pci. Auto should make it detect and use the new pci card.

Hey guys, building a new PC, and I decided not to go too cheap with core components and leave the video card until later, while still getting everything in one go. Now this being the case, I will need to run non-dedicated graphics for a while (which are decent nowadays). Anyway, I want to go with the Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Motherboard and an AMD A10-6800K Richland CPU,

Will the video outputs on the motherboard work with the APU and will I be able to use integrated video until I get a dedicated video card?

The Newegg page for the motherboard says "Integrated Video: None", so I am a little bit confused, is there no integrated video chipset because that's what the CPU is now being an APU?

A:AMD A10-6800K with what motherboard for integrated video?

I just built a home office build system for my parents using that exact board with an A4-6300 Richland in a Cooler Master HAF 912 (I really like this case for microATX boards). The board was great to work with and since the APU is on the chip itself my folks didn't need to purchase a video card.

So to answer your question: Yes you'll get your video.

* I would seriously consider getting an aftermarket cooler to replace the heatsink that comes with it.

So what does this mean?
Will the integrated graphics card slot work or...?

I'm dumb at, any thoughts appreciated

A:Motherboard supports integrated GFX card processor doesn't?

Yussi, you board has integrated graphics but the CPU does not. There is a GPU chip built in the board. Some Intel CPUs have a GPU built in them, yours doesn't though. The integrated will still work but you may have to enable it in your BIOS if you also have a dedicated GPU card.

Most BIOSes will disable the onboard GPU when you put a card in the PCIe slot.

A:Motherboard configuration for the integrated graphics in i7-2600 Sandy Bridge

You don't need a motherboard with onboard graphics in order to use the integrated graphics of the CPU.

Be aware that the P67 chipset does -not- support using Sandy Bridge's integrated graphics. For that, you will need to use a motherboard with another chipset; the most popular choices being either H67 or Z68.

Do you have to enable audio in the BIOS? Check to make sure.

You might have to flash your BIOS.

Why did you feel you had to install SP3? What I mean is, if you've gone this long without it, can you get by without it in the future?

Try to remove SP3. Failing that, maybe you should consider buying a sound card.

A:Integrated enhanced system/ Integrated 10/100 ethernet

Intergrated audio means the audio chipset is part of the motherboard, so no, you don't need a sound card.

Intergrated lan means that a network card is intergrated into the motherboard. If you connecting to cable or dsl it will work. For a regular phone line modem you will need a modem add in card

so can you guys please suggest me the connections for front panel LEDs, Audio and USB.

I could use some creative customer service here. My M3800 shipped with the known power-on motherboard defect. It was replaced at no charge, which was very nice. However, the replacement (2nd motherboard!) is now having the same intermittent dead / no power problem.
To get the computer running, I have to remove the case (12 screws) and un-plug the internal battery to 're-set' the electrical fault. After I put it back together, the computer starts normally. This is not very convenient, especially when meeting with new clients.
The problem is that I am being told I am outside the 3-month repair warranty. I think this stinks! It's a known issue and I would like someone at Dell to step up make my expensive computer work normally all of he time.
Yes, I have run every diagnostic known to man and the internet.

Hello I've recently installed Win Release Preview and so far I don't (integrated UIs) if...? What like the UI at all The start screen is good preinstalled apps work well and it is not that difficult to understand how they work But although What if...? (integrated UIs) I'd like to see a similar interface on different devices so that you can think of them as a single one being them a desktop a notebook or a phone Metro just doens't work for me And having desktop there is not a solution because switching between one interface and the other is slow distracting and unpleasant Basically they put two separate environments in a single system asking me to switch between them while I work What's the point in putting metro on x PCs Do they want to have a What if...? (integrated UIs) similar interface on all windows devices Fine but then why having two UIs on a single computer So I thought what's the main problem of the Metro UI The start screen No I kinda like it The problems are fullscreen apps and minimalistic options Why do I have to run a single app at a time I'm not on an ipad I'm using a windows pc because it is more powerful and does not limit my experience It's been years that I always have more than a program running at a time and i'm constantly swithcing between them moving from a window to another and so forth and so on Now there is this idea of one at a time as if we used the pc just to check mails or meteo Same thing in the apps Have you tried IE metro I have to use the RMB to display a gigantic ribbon with thumbnails of my tabs In this way I practically navigate with one tab at a time And right clicking on any object brings up a ribbon in the bottom part of the screen so that I alway have to move through my entire workspace to click on nothing there is almost nothing in this ribbon it's practically empty But i don't want the old UI back where would innovation be So I thought of something What is the difference between the desktop and the start screen There is no difference at all just one is customizable the other is not so why don't they just - Make the start screen background more customizable - Make it easier to navigate with a mouse - Make apps work in windows instead that fullscreen They could make them open on fullscreen in windows RT and open the way they were last time on x The name of this OS should tell them the way to go Make them resizable and movable around the screen like in desktop - Give us a smarter right click men ribbon could be fine on touch here we should have buttons where we click - Delete the desktop and use the start screen as the background in the end what's so different between them In the end now we just have two different desktops which are partially useless Now I know this is release preview and they are not going to change anything but don't you think these would be good ideas

A:What if...? (integrated UIs)

The metro UI is Microsoft's approach at not unifying UIs between PCs, but with the Xbox and Windows Phone. It's an interesting thing they're doing that if they pull off well, it will be something.

That is the main complaint with metro apps is that you can only see two at a time, if you have a screen resolution high enough, you have app snap. The main concept of metro IS minimalism of design and immersiveness. It's supposed to lack a lot window chrome in an effort to focus solely on content, which is something that has been a concept of the design for Windows' UI for about a good decade now. The main thing with the Start Screen is that it helps you find what you have on your PC faster compared to the start menu, where you had a default list of about 15-25 items in the All Programs, with folders and subfolders underneath that. The Start Screen is like the menu, but visual, and more configurable to your usage.

The main difference's I see with the two interfaces is yeah, one is more customizable than the other. One can serve as a sort of a Desktop for tablets while the actual Desktop is there to always use.

I actually use IE 10 metro because it works A LOT better than the previous build versions and I think it's pretty nice. It's just the website, not chrome, just the content. I usually do a lot of tabbed browsing, there are a couple of limitations to that, but overall, I find it's pretty nice to use.

May I also suggest pinning Desktop items to your Start Screen? I think a lot of complaints come from the default setup of the Start Screen with all the apps there and in the way for many.

hello there, i recently bought a new computer for going away to college. Its fairly cheap but also not bad (incase something happens to it). A:Question about integrated vs. Non

Not all integrated are bad. The main consideration in my mind is whether the card uses shared memory.

In any case, there is no need to remove the card--it can be disabled in BIOS or Device Manager if you decide to use a different one.

A:integrated graphics

Intel graphics chips don't meet the requirements of most of today's PC games.
Whilst it's (usually) possible to allocate more system RAM to the graphics chip in the BIOS Setup, there is a limit to how much you can allocate, and it's certainly less than the 1GB (recommended) that SkyRim requires.

Not only that, the more RAM you assign to the graphics chip, the less there is left over for Windows and applications to use. SkyRim requires 2GB RAM (minimum), 4GB (recommended). You have a total of 3GB RAM at present. Windows Vista needs most of that for itself just to run at an acceptable pace.
There just isn't enough RAM for both Vista and SkyRim together, especially as Vista is particularly heavy on RAM usage compared to other Windows versions.

So the Intel graphics chip is the primary weak spot, with installed RAM being the second weak spot.

You can add more RAM of course, but you're stuck with the Intel chip.

Might as well mention that XP does NOT like my integrated much; the output quality wsa much better before I upgraded from WinME.

I recently bought a Gigabyte GA-7ZX motherboard, and i'm having a problem disabling the on-board audio card. I've tried to disable it in the Bios, and everything looks fine. But, when i install my AWE64 16bit soundcard in the PCI slot windows98 identifies it as a "PCI Multimedia Audio Device" and searches for the drivers for it and can't seem to locate them anywhere, not even on the creative CD my sound card came with. Therefore, calling it an "unknown device". Here's the kicker. Windows98 will however, identify the Midi, and joystick port on the soundcard..JUST NOT THE AUDIO PORTION OF IT!!! Has anyone ran into this problem before??? Please help!!

one: it is possible that your card died.

two: check one more time in BIOS - sometimes the disable options are REALLY REALLY buried good. make sure the check EVERYTHING - even if it seems irrelevent, you might just find something.

three: try detecting the PCI Multimedia Audio Device with the drivers that came with the motherboard. if it works - disable the device in windows and then reinstall the creative card.

Alrite usually to disable the integrated graphics you can go into the bios of the motherboard and do it but since you have already tried that here is another solution, in most motherboards when you plug a card into the AGP slot it automatically recognizes a video card and turns off the integrated graphics. But since you said it is a PCI graphics card i am not too sure if that will happen. Have you tried installing the video card and putting in the drivers to see if it get disabled automatically?? Let me know if that works out for you.

A:Help with integrated graphics

Well, if you motherboard has an agp slot(as many integrated mobos lack graphics upgrade slots), you buy an agp card that's compatible(if your board has 8x agp get an 8x card), carefully install it(after reading it's directions of course), and then boot up. It should display using a generic windows driver, but look really low quality. If it doesn't display from the new card, you might have to enter the bios and setup the video options. Maybe select that your using an agp card instead of integrated or something like that, bioses vary. Then, you install the newest drivers for the card, like if it's nvidia based, dl the latest driver from nvida and install it.

My computer is a couple of years old and I've never had to use my web cam before. Of course when the time comes to use said web cam I find out it doesn't work; all the time. When using skype sometimes it will come on and say that my web cam is working. Naturally I try to activate it, and to my excitement it turns on, then after a few seconds of working it turns off and an error message comes ups saying that I do not have a web cam plugged in. This seems to happen whenever I move my computer. Sometimes a message will pop up in my task tray saying that the computer doesn't recognize the device plugged in the USB port or that the device will run faster plugged into a different port, although nothing is plugged into either one of the four USB ports.

Any ideas?

So, how can I solve this problem. Is there trouble with hardware or anything else.

A:Integrated Web Cam not Working

Thank you for joining in on the HP Support Forums and Welcome @Sachin_Deswal! I understand that you are having an issue getting the webcam to work for you. You mentioned upgrading to Windows 8.1 to solve the problem but you are still unable to use the Webcam. Upgrading may not have resolved the issue because when you upgrade, everything that is current on the Notebook carries over as is. The best way to undo losing the HP Apps and your webcam software would have been to do a System Restore back to a time when it was active and working (even the day before it happened would have been okay).  Is the camera listed in the Device Manager?Have you done your Windows Updates?Have you done your HP Support Assistant updates? There is no driver available for Windows 8.1 on the Software and Driver Downloads page. There is a download package for the HP Pavilion g6-2301ax Notebook PC and Windows 8: sp61279.exe available. This is where the HP Support Assistant could be very helpful. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system at the time of purchase or that need updating now. Here is a document for you called Webcam Troubleshooting. Please follow the troubleshooting steps in this document.  If the webcam is listed in the device manager, have you tried to uninstall it? If not, please follow these steps:Uninstall the Webcam driver in Device ManagerRestart the Notebook twice If that does not work, please try to Disable the webcam.  If all else fails, please try to Refresh Your PC. Windows 8 includes a feature called Refresh your PC that allows you to refresh your computer without affecting your files. This can be useful to recover from a problem. The Refresh option is primarily a repair method - a way to return your computer to a known good state. Did this reply resolve your issue or answer your question? If yes, then please share the good news! Let others know this reply was helpful by clicking the Accept as Solution button. You can also show your appreciation by clicking the Thumbs Up. If you require further assistance, I would be more than happy to continue to help you. Please re-post with the results of the troubleshooting. Thanks!Have a great day!

A continuation of my old thread " "
Basically the question was answered and now I need to know how to fix this.

I am aware that if I install an AGP card that uses its own memory, the problem will stop.

I want to know if it is possible to make the system work using the 2x512mb (new corsair ram) on the *integrated geforce 4 mx 64mb* without freaking out the computer like what happened in the old thread.

Somebody said the error is caused because the video card uses a certain memory bank? And the computer is trying to acces that area which causes the issue. So how can I fix this. I really want to use my new ram, which works with the mobo but not that darn integrated video chip.

Dedicated for performance in games. Video streaming is fine on either.

It depends on what type of games you wish to play, and the level of performance you expect.

I have a not-so-bad laptop. it has a 2.10 Intel Dual-core Processor, 4 gb of RAM...

and an Integrated Intel mobile chipset family series 4 GPU with 64 mb of dedicated ram.

And there's my problem with this computer. If only I could increase the ram or its overall power somehow...
but apparently I can't because of reasons. the only good way is through the BIOS, but that doesn't work on my computer because it's not on my BIOS to change. Overclocking programs such as EVGA Precision X and MSI Afterburner don't work on my computer because it's an Integrated GPU and because the internet said it's not possible. But there must be way, a way to at least par up those mere 64 mb to something more equivalent to the less anaemic specs my processor and RAM have. So please, if there's anything I can try, please help me out here.

A:Overclocking an Integrated GPU.

Welcome to the forum.

Overclocking a laptop (or any OEM system for that matter) is a thoroughly bad idea. They lack virtually everything needed for safe and effective overclocking. Manufacturers are well aware of this and have omitted the settings in the BIOS necessary for overclocking. This protects you from failures and them from the resulting warranty claims. Overclocking is best limited to home built systems where you control the specifications and quality of the components used.

The real problem isn't the 64 MB dedicated RAM but the limited features and performance of the integrated video. Laptops are not game machines and there is really nothing you can do to make it so.

Hi, I'm new to TechSpot, and I was wondering if this PC could effectively run WoW.

I'm not sure what to expect, and I know that integrated video cards suck compared to an independant VC set-up. The system has 1GB of Ram and a not so bad processor.

What can I expect FPS wise? I don't need an exact answer, but if someone could ball-park it for me that would be great.

PS - Is there any way someone could tell me what type of video card to purchase in regards to the PC and available slots? Ty.

Knowing someone's location in the world can be extremely helpful, even if you just put a country.

Also remember to post any problems or questions that you have in the appropriate forums

With regards to your question, if the pc is this one, then it doesn't say what graphics it has or what motherboard so we can't see what it's got, unfortunately. If you can find out what motherboard it has so we can find out its graphics then we can see how it will fare. You will probably expect fairly low fps though, it depends on what resolution you want to use as well.

No, not really. I recommend integrated gpu's for my users that are just using the web and email. The A6 has a integrated HD 8470D gpu. I think that is very similar to the Intel HD4000 series. It should give you HD graphic capabilities at 1920x1200, possoble as high as 2560x1600 depending on the monitor.
You do not get the high frame rate of a new gen gpu in a 16x pcie slot.

I can't figure out why I keep getting the BSOD a few minutes into each session. Hello everyone. I am having problem with my integrated ethernet card. I have an ECS VIA P4VMM2 motherboard with ethernet device VIA FAST 10/100 Ethernet. The ethernet device is detected in the bios ( it can be enabled and disabled in bios also). Im running windows XP SP3 and the device is installed with windows and detected.

The problem arises when i try to plug an ethernet cable from my internet livebox. It does not detect the connection. It does not even says limited or finding I.P addres; as if there was no cable connected. The Ethernet port was working earlier and I dont know what is causing this. I even tried to reinstall other windows same problem.. even on linux..

any help or suggestions/.??

Tell me why this laptop:

can run the Sims 2 with SMOOTHNESS! I watched the fly-in screen with the Pleasantview neighborhood, and it was a smooth as a desktop I have with a GFX5200. WHY IS THIS? I thought the GMA 950 was as slow as other integrated graphics solutions...

A:Is this really integrated graphics?

Yup, integrated graphics. Newer than a GFX5200 and it has the core duo (not C2D) so that is why it runs as well as your desktop.

Okay im buying a computer in fact it's a: lenovo IdeaCentre H405 (7723-1CU) Desktop PC Athlon II X4 645(3.1GHz) 4GB DDR3 1TB HDD Capacity ATI Radeon 3000 graphics Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. And it said ATI radeon 3000 integrated graphics I wanted to know if this was a good graphics card and if I could change it later and also If I could run Arma 2 on high or very high graphics with it. Thanks in advance!

A:AMD integrated graphics?

I doubt that it could run that game all on low at playable frame rates. It is passable for older games and general purpose use, but if you want your games to be playable you're going to have to add in video card.

Hey !

I have integrated graphics (Intel HD graphics) on my lappy . It says it can use upto a total memory of 1696mb approximately . I have core i3 370M processor and a memory of 4gb .

If my lappy can use memory upto 1696 mb , I can play all most all high end graphics games smoothly . But it is not happening . NFS HP3 is not running smoothly !
And games like GTA 4 aren't running .
What should I do in order to increase my gaming performance ?
Will it works upgrading my ram to 8 gb ?

A:Integrated graphics help !

Just because the integrated graphics has up to 1696 MB of shared RAM available, it doesn't overcome the fact that they are integrated graphics, which by virtue are not good performers at all when it comes to gaming. Unfortunately in your case, if it only has the Intel HD Graphics, there's not really going to be anything you can do to improve graphics performance with software. Your best bet would be to get an external graphics card for your laptop such as MSI’s external graphics card promises vastly improved graphics for laptops wanting a little more…. Don't know if they're selling it yet but if they are, then this would definitely help you with games.

Okay, so as the topic title implies, for the life of me, I cannot figure out which motherboard model I'm supposed to get for this Dell Inspiron 1300 here. Only info I have is that it has the Centrino sticker on the palm rest of the case, and I also have the service tag, but that doesn't seem to give me much information from what I've found.

I've taken the motherboard out of the thing and looked it over, but no luck, as I don't see the model number on it.

Will someone please tell me how I'm supposed to figure out the motherboard model number so I can get a new one?

You can search by the service tag number

hey guys, does anyone if there are any other drivers for this board? i'm looking at this page after selecting 'driver' and 'win7 64 bit'. i only see 'audio', 'chipset' 'LAN' and 'RAID'. on the other boards i've seen, the driver software was much more comprehensive and contained several different pieces of software.

what's the main driver i need to install after installing win7 for the motherboard? just wondering if i'm missing something and need to install something else for the 'main features'? or are there main features found in the BIOS before win7 boots up? how does win7 recognise the board btw? does the board have drivers built in already? how can winxp recognise mboards that have been made very recently?

thanks guys

A:Gigabyte motherboard: P55M-UD4 some questions on motherboard software

Those are all the drivers you need, and really all any motherboard needs to work. You also have some Utilities under the drop down menu of "Download Type" but these are optional tweaking and similar utilities not required for proper operation of the system. Any version of Windows will have limited driver support, enough to install and run until the correct drivers are installed, or for a SATA or RAID controller under Windows XP drivers are loaded via the F6 prompt during the initial stages of the XP install to allow it to detect the hard drive. There are no drivers built into the hardware itself.

A:Integrated webcam just will not work

Is there possibly an on/off switch for the webcam? Make sure it's on
Also look through all pages of your BIOS setup menu on the off chance it might be an option that can be disabled (if you see it, make sure it's enabled) Then

1. List any Problem Devices

Make sure devices are connected and powered on
Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
On the other hand, if no devices are listed, tell me so
2. See How To Report Your Computer's Device Manager Data
> Be sure that when you Save As, you do so as Tabular Text (.txt)

Have an X60s - the original COreDuo IBM "mini" laptop.

Recently, it started to hard freeze right after booting - roughly after about half a dozen mouse clicks, but only when using the integrated mouse. Nothing works - have to power-button it off. ReStarts fine, appears everythign is running fine and it will stay that way as long as one only uses an external mouse, or keyboard shortcuts.

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the mouse (forget what they call it, but it's the red eraser point mouse) track point maybe...?

Anyway, it worked for awhile, but has returned after a week or so of regular use.

Ran every spyware/malware/virus detector I could, but nothing was detected. Tried running HijackThis! but could not see anything ominous that is running.

REALLY don't want to rebuild this thing... Any thoughts?

A:Freezes when using integrated mouse?

I cannot imagine this would stump the band...

Any troubleshooting ideas? If I wanted to kill the driver as well as uninstall the hardware in device mgr, would that be sufficient to remove all of the reference on the chance that the issue lies within the trackpoint mouse?

I couldn't find anything relevant listed in any error log, so I'm shooting rather blind.

Biggest problem is I just don't know where to start if it's not the mouse that's causing it.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A45-S151 laptop with 32MB of integrated video memory and I was wondering if there was anything that I could do to upgrade or enhance it.

A:Integrated Graphics Question

Short answer - no.

Laptops generally are non expandable regarding video memory.
Some exceptions are in the top end of the market, but in the general range what you get when its manufactured is what you are stuck with.

Some allow more or less to be assigned from the main memory within limits. Check the BIOS to see if 32 MB is tha maximum in your case.

How'd you disable the integrated graphics?

What should have been done:
Monitor connected to integrated -> get into BIOS, disable integrated. Shut Down.
Monitor connected to PCI -> boot up. Video works.

I beleive the integrated card on my desktop is dead. I purchased a new PCI card and installed it. When I tried to power up the system, nothing appears on the screen as if no signal were being sent from the machine. If I can't see anything on the screen, how do I troubleshoot the graphics card issue. Is there some other probable issue that I am overlooking? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Hey I have an Inspiron 5748 laptop with a built-in camera and nothing will detect it. This happened a couple months ago after i reformatted my hardrive and since then nothing will detect it(Skype, Yahoo, Any website that uses a webcam, etc) and I even tried downloading webcam central and still doesn't work. I tried going into Device Manager and it says that its working fine with no problems whatsoever. I then went to run a diagnostics test on this site and during the test, a popup window appeared with me on it from my webcam and the test said that it passed. I do however, have 2 downloads listed in my drivers and downloads(Chipset |Intel Management Engine Interface Driver & BIOS |Dell Inspiron 3442,3542,5748 System BIOS). Are any of them required? Or could it be because that i reformatted my hardrive that it will not be detected? Please Help!

Is there any way at all to increase my GPU performance of my ATI Radeon 3100M 256 MB integrated?

A:ANY way to increase integrated GPU performance

Other than increase the amount of RAM dedicated for onboard video use, not to my knowledge.
And this will likely not help much for gaming.

The only way to really increase Graphics performance will be to upgrade to hardware graphics. And being a laptop, may be out of luck.

Hopefully others have something more positive to share.
