I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

I dont have my dell cd...so If i uninstall the driver would i need the to use the cd to reinstall? btw ive already tried updating the driver but that didnt help.

Thanks!

I had a hard drive failure on my XPS 15, I replaced the hard drive, and then reinstalled Windows 10. I reinstalled all of the drivers listed on the XPS15 9530 support page. However, now the integrated web camera does not work. In the drivers list, there is nothing listing a web camera to install. I also tried installing Dell Webcamera Celntral using this download link (http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/t/19448019
It also appears that there are some issues within the device manager list (picture below).
Does anyone have an idea how to fix this?

A:Integrated webcam just will not work

Is there possibly an on/off switch for the webcam? Make sure it's on
Also look through all pages of your BIOS setup menu on the off chance it might be an option that can be disabled (if you see it, make sure it's enabled) Then

1. List any Problem Devices

Make sure devices are connected and powered on
Click Start->Run, enter: msinfo32. Click the + sign next to Components to expand it
Click Problem Devices. Anything appear?
If yes, click on it, Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to copy it, Ctrl-V to paste into next post
On the other hand, if no devices are listed, tell me so
2. See How To Report Your Computer's Device Manager Data
> Be sure that when you Save As, you do so as Tabular Text (.txt)

I have a Windows 7, Dell Inspiron N1410 laptop with integrated webcam. While talking on Skype, the user at the other end suddenly stopped receiving my image. Skype had turned "My video" off. Whenever I tried to start my video up on skype, the webcam light would turn on for just a second, then it stopped again.

I tried restarting, doing a system restore, uninstalling webcam drivers and reinstalling them from the CD, then uninstalling the Dell Webcam Central and reinstalling it from the CD, nothing worked.

In the Webcam properties, it says "Device is working properly." And now when I'm opening up Dell Webcam Central, there's a message "Please connect a suitable device."

I contacted Dell, and my product is beyond warrantly. They advised I try a system reformat. But is there any way to get the webcam working again without a reformat?

Hi Thadoctur,
Thanks for posting.
Apologies for the issue with your webcam.  Have you been able to determine if the camera works at all?  If not, please use this program: http://download.cnet.com/WebcamViewer/3000-12510_4-75324168.html
If you are able to see your camera, then it's not a hardware issue, but rather a software issue.  You would need to check the settings in the software you are using and maybe reinstall it.  If the camera is not working at all, then if you are under warranty contact Tech Support.  If you are out of warranty, you can contact our Out of Warranty department to purchase additional warranty, or get it fixed at a local repair shop.
Contact me privately if you need additional assistance.  Thanks.
Regards,Robert

However, my integrated webcam does not work! It neither shows a picture in MSN Live nor in the "Cyberlink Youcam", only the blue light next to the the webcam jumps on.
It is a pity. I'd love to use it again on live messenger.
Is there anyone who has an idea why or could help me finding it out? Thank you!

Probably just a driver issue. type device manager in search, find the webcam tab. Is it there? does it have a yellow traingle on it? are there any other "unknown" devices with yellow triangles on them?

My Dell Inspiron 7352 Integrated Webcam is not working and the error code is 45. I went to Dell site and used their driver fix tool to install 6 missing/corrupt drivers. Hey guys,

I recently formatted my PC and installed Vista Ultimate on it, after many attempts at installing the microphone slot (that you plug in beside headphones) I gave up with the Sigmatel drivers and decided to try and get the webcam microphone working but it doesn't show up anywhere even after I installed the microphone and the dell webcam manager program. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you

(the problem I had with Sigmatel was that if I installed the driver it would make the sound stop working as well, even though it showed "playback" and "recording" as working in the sound options. I ended up just removing the Sigmatel drivers and have to use the ones Vista installed automatically - the file I was using to install the drivers was R171786)

Hi & Welcome.

This could be because you installed the wrong driver, are you absolutely sure you have the right one - you have to take into account that your OS has a bit (x86 or x64), you're OS have a service pack, it has a package (Ultimate, Basic), etc.

I am using a video surveillance program (webcamXP), and I would like to use both my integrated webcam (laptop) AND my logitech webcam (C310) as sources; however, it looks like my integrated webcam is not accessible when I plug in the UBS webcam. From the program's perspective, there is only one source which corresponds to whatever webcam is available (integrated webcam when USB is unplugged, and vise versa).

I would expect both sources to be available. I'm thinking somehow the computer is seeing the USB webcam and just overriding the integrated webcam. Is there anything I can do to verify this and/or change it to make both available?

It's totally possible that it could be the program, but I was unable to find any settings to get it working.

I'm running Windows 7.

Check Device Manager to see if the cam is listed. If not, it's likely a hardware fault and the cam isn't being detected like the error reports.

I just recently got a Acer aspire 5920 notebook. It came equipped with windows vista home premium. I don't like vista so I got rid of it and installed XP pro SP3. Now the integrated Crystal Eye Webcam is missing and nowhere to be found. I have tried to locate the installation software for XP with no luck. Does anyone know where I can find it or will my webcam only work with Vista? If I have to I can still do a factory restore. I didn't delete that partition.

A:Integrated webcam is missing

You might need to resintall vista because that is what it was built for. If you do not want to resintall vista you should go to the Acer website and download the driver for your webcame and see if it will install on XP, if it does, then your webcam should be located by the machine and should work properly. If that does not work, you should put the original OS back on your laptop. Personally, i dont think you should have downgraded from vista because the computers hardware was not built for XP.

I also have a dell 1545 which came with windows 7. however im running windows xp pro on it and there is an xp driver for the camera. i checked under the vista and windows 7 drivers and for some reason that driver isnt there.you might want to try the xp driver and see if it might work.i cant understand why there is no camera driver at all for windows 7 for that model.i find that to be very puzzling.

It does not even acknowledge there is one at all. I have tried to go to the advent website to update any drivers, but it does not even list my netbook, which is is the Advent Verona. It just gives a serial number and I can find no mention of it at all either on my system or on the casing. Can anyone help please.

Help! A while back I turned off my integrated webcam manually. (Dell SP2309W Flat Panel Monitor) Now I am back on Skype and want to turn it back on, but can't find the setting to do so. My desktop is a Dell Studio 540S 32bit operating system, using Windows Vista. I have used the search to find webcam - nothing. I reinstalled the webcam software using the original disks. Webcam central and Skype still say I do not have a webcam installed. I tried looking for the Imaging folder under Start/Device Manager/Drivers etc, but not there. I am at a loss...please help

Hi folks I had the opportunity of working with a customer on a number of other wireless issues that were quite easy to resolve However he asked me to take a peek at the Webcam that s integrated into his computer It simply doesn t work Model is an HP Pavilion dv us running Windows Vista Home Premium -Bit SP Of course the first indication he is having trouble is when he attempts to open Skype or any other video chat applications he gets a message that a webcam is not present one needs to be installed etc A quick peek at the Scanners and Cameras control panel does not reveal the device So I have opted to go to the device manager The only device indicating trouble is a quot USB Composite Device quot Opening this device reveals an quot Recognized HP Webcam Integrated Not Error Code HP Integrated Webcam Not Recognized This device cannot start quot A check of the HP website for this model does not reveal individual drivers that can be downloaded as they have apparently been included in the Windows Vista operating system At this time I have attempted to do the following Check the system setup to ensure that the device hasn t been disabled Not a trace found for this bad boy Attempt driver update No better device drivers can be found Uninstall the device from the control panel Restart the computer and wait for Windows to reinstall it Only problem is that is always shown as a USB Composite Device Now keep in mind that the webcam previously had a blue light that would illuminate for a few moments when the computer was turning on and Windows was loading This beastie is not doing that now even Finally a search of the HP forums reveals NOTHING for this issue Others have posted with the same issue but they have never been resolved Can someone please toss me a bone I m about out of ideas at this point Thanks nbsp

Hi, I bought a new laptop recently and only found out a few days ago that the integrated webcam was not working.

This computer has a Fn+F10 key combination for enabling the webcam but whenever I do this I get a message saying

"USB Device not recognised"

I hear, since I am getting this message, it is not a hardware problem but its the drivers.

The computer did come with two drivers called Bison Camera and Chicony Cam but neither of them seem to work.

Messaged the computer company but they havent got back to me in days...

I would very much appreciate it if someone here could help me out.

Thanks in advance

I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with an integrated webcam. It has been working for about a year and then just yesterday it stopped working.

When I go to webcam manager it says that I need to reconnect the camera but it is built in. The only change that I have made is a few windows updates got installed last night (but none are camera related)

Does anyone know the answer?

Hey I have an Inspiron 5748 laptop with a built-in camera and nothing will detect it. This happened a couple months ago after i reformatted my hardrive and since then nothing will detect it(Skype, Yahoo, Any website that uses a webcam, etc) and I even tried downloading webcam central and still doesn't work. I tried going into Device Manager and it says that its working fine with no problems whatsoever. I then went to run a diagnostics test on this site and during the test, a popup window appeared with me on it from my webcam and the test said that it passed. I do however, have 2 downloads listed in my drivers and downloads(Chipset |Intel Management Engine Interface Driver & BIOS |Dell Inspiron 3442,3542,5748 System BIOS). Are any of them required? Or could it be because that i reformatted my hardrive that it will not be detected? Please Help!

Hello!

I'm having a problem with my integrated webcam. It's built into my laptop, Inspiron 1525, and when I try to use skype, Dell Webcam Manager, cameroid, anything that uses a camera, it's like I don't have one. "Camera is not detected, please plug in..."

I've tried reinstalling all the drivers, and I'm still getting nowhere. I'm wondering if it has something to do with me not installing Dell MediaDirect the last time I reinstalled this operating system. (I switched back to Vista after using a Linux OS because I was having trouble connecting to the internet).

What should I do?

Thanks

A:Integrated webcam causes bluescreen

Typically caused by having one or more incompatible device drivers installed.
Check Device Manager for error symbols. If you see any any, uninstall it & downloaded appropriate driver from your laptop manufacturer's website.

Should you think you can help out with this malady, please contact me and I'll post as much information concerning this laptop, as I have.

First and most obvious is a driver issue. Please go into device manager and look to see if you webcam driver is installed and working
Please go to start>search>type device manager.
Are there any "unknown devices" with yellow triangles on them?
Is you driver there , listed, and working?

If y our driver is missing, or there is a yellow triangle on it, you will need to update it.

Let us know if you need further assistance

Dear all,

the integrated webcam on my Satellite T130 isn't working.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and already re-installed the 64bit webcam drivers through this website. Nevertheless, when I click on the webcam application, simply nothing happens - program doesn't open at all or shutdowns instantly. Skype also doesn't recognize a cam. Also, there is no webcam in the device manager (one undetected USB device though) and no cam symbol in the Toshiba quicklaunch ribbon, which is how the camera is started according to the "manual".

Anybody got an idea of what the problem is? Seems like a common problem according to Google, but no suggestions other than reinstalling drivers. Maybe some other application blocking the camera? Firewall settings?

I'd appreciate any support, thanks.

Regards Florian

A:Integrated webcam on my Satellite T130 isn't working

>one undetected USB device though

This might be the webcam since the webcam is connected to the internal USB controller on motherboard.

It looks like a webcam driver is not installed properly.
Try the webcam driver released for the satellite t230 or other Satellite series.
The versions are newer?

Furthermore recommend checking the BIOS settings.
In some cases the BIOS contain an webcam option where the webcam can be enabled and disabled.

Hi I hope someone can help me My integrated working webcam Satellite integrated not R630 - webcam on my Toshiba Satellite Satellite R630 - integrated webcam not working R spontaneously stopped working in the last couple of weeks I have tried - Checking whether it is activated in BIOS and there's no Satellite R630 - integrated webcam not working option to select a webcam here - Restoring my laptop to an earlier state when the camera was working This didn't work either - Updating the webcam driver - this installs the driver but then it disappears and nothing happens A few things that it might help to know - In Device Manager 'imaging devices' is missing so I cannot find the webcam driver here - I used to get a pop-up every time I turned on my laptop that was trying to load a bluetooth webcam but saying it couldn't This has stopped happening i think i turned it off in msconfig - It's not a hardware issue - Yesterday I had a weird breakthrough moment - I'd downloaded an app to my phone to try and use it as a webcam via bluetooth I'd turned on bluetooth on my phone and laptop I plugged in my phone to my laptop and the bluetooth camera pop-up see previous point came up but this time worked without the error message However instead of my phone working as a webcam the blue light came on next to my integrated webcam and that started working I thought it was fixed so closed everything and ejected my phone and the webcam stopped working again I've tried to repeat this sequence but with no joy I'm out of ideas and really frustrated Can anyone help

A:Satellite R630 - integrated webcam not working

Hi

If imagine device isn?t listed in device manager, then this means that the module could not be found. Even if the driver would not be installed, the module should be listed in BIOS as imagine device, unknown device, etc?
But this isn?t the case?

So I think there are two possibilities: the module is fault or the connection between the module and the motherboard (controller) isn?t established.

As far as I know the internal webcam module is connected to the USB controller.
If the connection drops (loose cable) the module will not be recognized in device manager?

So from my point of few it must be some hardware related issue?

The Dell Webcam Central app shows error "No supported webcam found"
When looking at Imaging Devices under Device Manager, there is no driver for the integrated webcam.
Can you please advise how I can fix this?

Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system? If yes, did you install the Dell System Software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order
Windows 7/8 is supposed to provide the webcam drivers for most Dell computers. If you system needs webcam drivers, go to Drivers and Downloads enter your service tag, then select your operating system. If your system needs webcam drivers, they'll be listed under Input.
(Windows 8)How to make the webcam work with help from this youtube. You have to open the Camera app first, and then click Settings on the charm bar to see where you can give the app permission to use the webcam.
Try reading...
Troubleshooting the Dell Webcam and Dell Webcam Central Software
You can try this file, also known as Dell Webcam Central.
Create a new unrestricted user account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?
If yes, log out and log back in to your account and try the webcam. Did the webcam work?
If no, then the webcam became detached from the motherboard, usually near the webcam

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, it is giving me a massive headache!!

I have a Compaq CQ58 laptop running windows 8.1. This webcam is not working for me. I have manually installed the latest driver and run HP Webcam support which says there are no problems. Device manager shows it under unknown devices and that is is a NULL driver. The webcam worked fine about a week ago, suddenly stopped. When I try to update the driver automatically, the error message is 'Windows found the driver software but encountered an error while attempting to install it. USB Video Device. The system cannot find the file specified'

A:HP Truvevision HD integrated webcam - driver won't update

Manually install the driver, don't use "auto update". The drivers should be available from Compaq.

uninstall the cam from Device Manager, reboot, and install the drivers.

The error noted above is file or installation issue, not a cam/hardware issue.

Hi,
I can not seem to get the integrated web camera on my Latitude E6420 working properly. It works fine in my web browser at times, on sites like this http://vyew.com/s/browsertest/, but not at all in applications like Dell Webcam Central and Skype.
Are there any other drivers I can try installing except the ones detected automatically by Windows 7? I have had no luck in finding such.

Hi,
I have a Latitude E4300 with integrated webcam. I'm thinking about upgrading my laptop with a WWAN Module (e.g. Dell Wireless 5530 PCI Express Card).
Does anybody know if this is possible? There is a note during the laptop configuration on the Dell website that either the integrated webcam or the WWAN module can be selected.
If I cannot use both at the same time (but even the slot for the PCI-Express Card and the slot for the SIM are there), can anybody tell me what are the technical restrictions?

Thanks for your help!

A:WWAN upgrade? (Latitude E4300 with integrated webcam)

It's possible to use WWAN and the webcam as they use different ports. The WWAN uses the spare mini pcie slot next to the WLAN card, simply remove the access panel and screw the new card in and put the antenna leads onto the card. You will need to install the driver for it but it works and is able to be used on Windows 10 as well.
Hope that helps!

Have you tried finding the webcam in your hardware manager and rolling back driver?  Also you could try to use a restore point and restore it back to an earlier date when the webcam was working.  Driver rollback should help if you try that first though.

Hi forum members,
I've bought HP Pavilion dv6-6c 16nr laptop 2 months back and the webcam was working perfectly. Yesterday I found in a video chat that it is not working and not even being detected in the device manager, when i start youcam application it gives and error. "Warning, no webcam detected. Try plugging in a webcam into your computer now. If you are using an integrated camera, make sure that it is turned on."
Because it was working fine just one day ago so I think it might be some windows or other application update which has caused the problem but havn't found any solution yet. Please give some solution.

I recently bought a Lenovo Ideapad S300 running Windows 8 and initially had difficulty in getting it to update but, with help from several websites, managed to resolve this problem. However, I never managed to get the integrated webcam to work. The application would launch but the camera screen is blank. Device Manager advises that the device is working properly and the drivers are up-to-date. Incidently, this particular notebook does not have the hotkey (F9) to switch the integrated camera on/off but, I understand, on later versions Fn+Esc is supposed to perform the same function; it does not. The system has two associated programs, Lenovo EasyCamera and Lenovo YouCam.

More recently I have updated to Windows 8.1 but the integrated webcam still does not work. Can anyone please advise what I might be doing wrong or what I could do to get the webcam to work. I'm a bit of a newbie, particularly as far as Windows 8 is concerned. Regards.

A:Integrated Webcam on Lenovo Ideapad S300 not working.

Have you tried re-installing the webcam driver? I have a Lenovo at home and mine was ok when I upgraded, but I removed all the Lenovo drivers for the webcam. (As I hate all the rubbish companies put onto new equipment)

Also when you run the camera app does it detect a camera? Usually Windows 8 will ask for a camera to be plugged in. If it shows a blank image does the white light next to the lens turn on?

If Device Manager is not showing some devices at all (not even as unknown devices), and driver installations abort with "can't find device" error, that almost certainly means faulty hardware. If several devices are affected at the same time, it could indicate a faulty motherboard.

I am thinking about reformatting and doing a clean installation of XP Home on a Dell PC that is 1 1/2 yrs. old. This Dell came w/ XP installed and with integrated sound & video cards - will I run into a problem w/ either of these cards with a clean installation?

Thanks for your thoughts - Monique

A:Dell integrated sound card

Hard to say you may need to download and install the drivers from www.dell.com - but this isn't a big deal and you may want to download them prior to reformating so as to have them ready. The drivers on the Dell site will also likely be better and newer than those included with XP or those included on the CD's.

If you have the recovery CD'sand driver CD's then that make it even easier. They'll have all the drivers/software for the computer - it will be just a matter of putting in the CD's.
