Dell Dimension E310 Series Video Card Upgrade

Q: Dell Dimension E310 Series Video Card Upgrade

Ok, this is my first post here, just made an account to post this.

I want to be able to play Second Life and I need a better graphics card. Here is the system requirements:
(would have the link, but its my first post)

I am on an XP, and I would like to get a compatible card from the recommended list.

I have looked at some other posts, and I am really confused. I understand the basics of computers, but I have no idea about this. I think I may need to upgrade my power supply? I have no idea what to post here, but I will try.
Here is what I have:
Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHz
2.79 GHz, 1.99 GB of RAM
Physical Address Extension

This is from dxdiag:
Intel 82519G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family

My driver is already updated, and it still doesn't work.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Ok you said upgrade your video card? what video card do you have in there now?
Also you will have to either take the panel off your computer and get the brand and watts of your PSU (power supply) or look it up. So far your CPU and RAM look good.
Just get the other info and i will be able to help further

Looked up your model, it has pci express, which is a faster interface than "pci," I'd advise this

It has what you want and will perform everything you need, along with a 15 dollar mail in rebate.

A:Video Card for Dell Dimension E310

If you are using your system's onboard VGA solution, you can get a cheap PCI graphic card (if that system's board have that slot), because IMHO its bit of wastage of money if you put anything of significant cost in that rig.

I have a Dell Dimension E310 computer
It has a Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset
Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz

I would like to upgrade the graphics card to support the game Portal and the upcoming Spore.

According to the Spore website, for it I will need:
A 128 MB Video Card, with support for Pixel Shader 2.0

And according to Valve's Steam website, Portal requires:
DirectX® 8 level Graphics Card

The Portal one is slightly vague, but I know for sure that my normal graphics card does not work.

I looked up my computers specifications on the web, and it said that it has 1 PCI x1, and 2 PCI

My question is: Is it possible for me to upgrade my graphics card on this computer? And if so, what kind, and how much does it cost?

A:Dell Dimension E310 Graphics Card Upgrade

Hi I have a E310 as well I'm planning on upgrading it too

You should get this card its compatible with the E310..

You might need a new psu as well..But that card should play Portal perfectly..

I got this in my PC same as yours The Dell Dimension 3100.

You should not upgrade the power supply will be too much for your system board, put old one in, I had no trouble with card at all.

You got to go into device manager and disable Intel Integrated graphics. Then add card. You still get a display with the VGA driver.

I currently have the CPU that came with the machine, ?an Intel Pentium 4HT [email protected] 2.8GHz with 1MB, L2 Cache, and 800MHz FSB, using Socket LGA 775.?
I have done some searching on for a small Core 2 Duo CPU that will fit this computer. I made sure to find ones that should be compatible ?Socket: LGA775 and 800MHz FSB?
These are the 3 I am looking at.

Does anyone know if these processors will work with the machine I have?

An added note - a Dell Tech representative just told me that he doesn't think the Dell 8300 motherboard will let you benefit from anything above a 128MB video card, because the motherboard only allocates 128 MB for Shared Memory.

Not sure if that's true. I've certainly seen plenty of 256MB cards recommended as upgrades for the Dimension 8300 (and the first sales person there was suggesting a 512MB card)

You don't need a new card to run the screen. You do for modern games, but not the screen. In fact, your old card should be working just fine for everything but gaming.

I'd consider something like an nvidia 7600GT. What is your budget?

A:Video card upgrade for dell dimension 4700

Your PSU can support an 8800GS easily, so the 8600GT will be quite easily supported. Also, more RAM will help performance.
As for the problems, if it's the mobo or PSU, then these might be dying and a new PC might be the best way to go, especially since computer parts are so cheap right now.

Hello, I am looking to upgrade the video capability of my pc. It is a Dell Dimension 4600C, with a Pentium 4 , 2.80 GHz, 2.79GHz, 504Mb RAM. It currently uses the integrated video card but has a agp slot. Being limited by the narrow physical size of the case and a 160W p/s, I understand my options are limited. The card needs to be low profile. I'd really appreciate help in finding a low cost card that wouldn't require changing the power supply...
or is that inevitable?
Also, does a card with 256M require much more (if any) power to run vs. a card with 128M?

I'd appreciate some advice on a video card upgrade that will be compatible with an old Dell Dimension 8400.
I recently attempted to swap in an MSI GEFORCE GT720 1GB card, on the naive assumption that since it was a low power consumption PCI-E card it would just work - however all I get is a black screen (card works ok on another PC).

Any advice on a compatible video card  that's an improvement on the original one that the PC shipped with would be great.

I am at work, so I won't answer everything you asked right now (no time to look for a card, sorry), but here are the answers to questions 2 and 3:

(2) The memory of the video card has nothing to do with the system itself, you can install a GDDR3 video card in a system which runs SDRAM for the system memory, since it simply doesn't matter. Simple examples would be my rig running a GDDR5 card (The HD4870X2) and using DDR2 for the system memory, my laptop running DDR2 system memory but a discrete 8600M GT GPU with 256MB of DDR3 and my friend's Celeron Dual Core (E1200) which is running DDR2 for system memory and a GDDR4 video card (Powercolor HD2600XT 256MB GDDR4). In other words, any video card that will run on your AGP slot, regardless of its own memory type, will work.

(3) I have absolutely no idea about the minimum requirements for Spore, but a 2.4Ghz P4 is a weak processor by today's standards. The problem is that there aren't many upgrade options even if you wanted to upgrade. The fastest Socket 478 Pentium 4s are clocked at 3.4Ghz, but these are usually expensive. You can find 3Ghz Pentium 4s for Socket 478 for around 30-50$ on ebay, but I am not certain the 25% clock-speed advantage is worth that money. In either case, if you decide to purchase a new CPU for that computer, make sure your have adequate cooling and that your motherboard supports the particular CPU you plan on picking up.

That's the best available for PCI-E x1 AFAIK. And I you will need at least a 350-400W PSU, since the PCI version requires 420W. I'm not sure about that though so wait for other replies. But it is the best card for PCI-E x1, that I'm sure of and will play those games acceptably well.

There's quite a few like this, but none seemed to answer my question so I'm going to start my own and be straightforward.

I'm looking for the best video card upgrade for my Dell Dimension E310.

Dell Dimension E310 DV051
Motherboard- Model #0JC474, Chipset i915P/i915G
Current Card- Intel 82915G/GV/910GL Express Chipset Family
Memory- 1.5 GB RAM
CPU-lntel Pentium 4
CPU Speed- 2.80 GHz
Power Supply- Dell?
Output- 230W

The main game I will be playing is World of Warcraft, and I'm currently getting from 5-15 fps, averaging at about 8, which is not very good. If there is a card I can get up to $175 (or close) that will significantly improve my fps, please let me know.

A:PSU prob with Dell Dimension E310

I think the PSU was defective. That Ultra was not a good choice it has verry low amperage on the 12v rail and so so reliability. However your system is a non-propriatary standard ATX system that is compatible with any standard ATX powersupply. Older dells (mainly those of the pentium 3 era) did have propriatary PSUs but the newer systems like yours are satandard. I would recomend a PSU from oneof the following manufactures: Antec(avoid smartpower 2.0 series), FSP, Enermax, PC Power & Cooling , Seasonic.
I personally recomend this for your system:

A:Dell dimension E310 problem

The E310 has had early failure of the hard drive, and of the LCD Screen inverter.
Try shutting down by pressing the on button for 12 seconds.
The wait 20 second and press the on button, while then repeatedly pressing the <F8> key once per second to see if it will start in SAFE MODE.
If you do not get a screen in Safe Mode, your screen inverter has likely gone bad... a fix that requires a technician who knows which inverter to order...
But it could still be the hard drive, so you may want to try other options such as attempting to boot to a CD...

I tried placing my PNY Verto GeForce FX graphics card into my Dell Dimension E310 into the PCI slot, but it seems like it won't fit. Will any graphics card fit into the Dell Dimension E310, or will I have to get a new computer? By the way, I want to get a graphics card that will play BF2 (the PNY did for me awhile ago on my older computer), and also can play COD4 (integrated Dell one won't, I don't know about the PNY one).

A:PNY Verto GeForce FX won't fit in Dell Dimension E310

In what way doesn't it fit? Is it physically too big? Are you trying to fit an AGP card into a PCI slot? You need a PCI graphics card. There are several out there.

I have a dell dimension E310 with windows xp, and everytime I start my computer I get a blue screen, that says "c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):

It is corrupt, absent, or not writable" then "beginning dump of physical memory: physical memory dump complete."

My warranty expired so dell won't help me unless I want to pay $50 for a phone call, and I was wondering if there is any way to fix my computer without losing everthing that was on it.

I also tried booting from the windows CD, and from an external hard drive with UBCD4Win (ultimate boot cd) and nothing. I tired changing the Boot sequence to go only to USB and still nothing. The message I am getting is "No boot device available - strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility."

Can anyone help, again be patient - I am still learning here? Thank you.

I've a Dell Dimension e310, which I've previously upgraded memory to 2GB. Has two HD's(not sure if that means it's dual-core??). My integrated video/audio isn't enough for using audio production software nor for my need to work with dual-monitors. I've acquired another PC that's got a NVIDIA Geforce 6200 TurboCache, using a PCIe x 16. My this card gonna' work? I've tried finding out whether my PCI slots support it, can't figure it out. I've gotten the info that my system does have one PCIexpress, but don't know what this "x16" thingy means for me?

Hi, according to this Cnet Review the Dell Dimension e310 has no possibility to upgrade the graphics card.

The bad: FireWire ports aren't standard; system lacks graphics-card expansion slot.Click to expand...

At the bottom a user has commented:

Cons: No PCI-e x16 slot for a killer video card -- BUT -- I didn't make sure it had one when I ordered it, so I got just what I paid for , which is a PCI-e X1 slot. That PCI-e X1 slot is now holding an excellent ASUS Xonar D2X Audio Card.Click to expand...

Hi everyone,

I need your help/suggestion for next steps. I have a Dell Dimension E310 that have been working well for a long time, but started flashing amber light on power on w/ blank screen. Behavior is like this:1) Flashing amber power light on power up. No beeping sound.
2) All 4 diagnostic lights lit up, steady green
3) CPU fan runs
4) Blank dark screen, windows does not start
5) But here was the weird part... If we leave it on for 20-30 minutes (in flashing amber state), then plug the external backup storage drive to the front USB, then Windows starts.
6) This technique had been true for 2-3 weeks, but now I could not get the PC to start at all.

I checked the USB slot and can not see any apparent damage. I have also replaced the 3V system battery. Thanks.

Let me start out by saying I know next to nothing about computers, but hopefully this is the right place for this.

I got a hard drive a while back, but when I wanted to put it in my computer I was told by someone I knew you needed some kind of plastic thing that slides the hard drive in, and that usually Dells have an extra one on the inside, but mine didn't. Does anyone know what these things are, or where I can get them? Everyone I've asked so far has had no idea what I was talking about.

A:Trouble putting a hard drive into my Dell Dimension E310

So how was the original hard drive held in place? It is customary to use the old rails on the new drive. What happened to the old hard drive?

You can go to a computer repair shop and ask then for the Dell rails. I even have a few here. Go back and take another look inside your computers case. The rails are in groups, located sometimes in the empty hard drive bays or attached to the inside of the case in various places. They are made of colored plastic usually green or blue

I have an old Dimension E310, and want to improve on it's integrated graphics. It has two PCI slots and 1 PCI-Express X1 slot. PCI is an old standard, and fairly antiquated now, but there aren't very many PCI-Express X1 graphics cards. Further, my PSU is rated for 230 Watts, though I've heard Dell usually underestimates the power of their PSUs. I've heard that people have used the Radeon HD 4350 512 MB PCI-Express X1 card successfully with an E310. Is there anything better, any experience with this?

A:Dell Dimension 4600 Upgrade Help (RAM, Video, etc.)

Would it not be a better idea to just start from scratch?
I think stating fresh or building a machine would be batter for you.

That RAM should be fine. Baring in mind its only DDR so its not going to give fantastic improvements.
You will have to open your case to see if you can leave the old sticks in. If you can then you may as well leave them in.
Also i always try and deter people from buying RAM or other components from Ebay. It could be old and leave you with a BSOD when you turn on. This can then be blamed on your other hardware and thus would not require the user to give you a refund.

I think that graphics card should work with your PC. I doesn't need PCI-e so that's fine with your PC.

The best ting to do would be to download system info

Then tell us what it shows for RAM.Memory. Slots type currently installed etc and also for video adaptors.
Then you can better determine new parts but at the moment what you have would be fine, but i would say an upgrade would be better.

Also take a look at these two guides Ive written to address speed:

Hi all -- I have a Dell Dimension 8300:

Intel Pentium 4
CPU 2.6 GHz
2.00 GB of RAM
80GB Harddrive

Currently I have an nVidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card but I want to upgrade. I do a fair amount of gaming, not a great deal but I do enjoy a higher performance, I also recently got BioShock which I was looking forward too but requires a higher performance card.

Does anyone have any idea on what cards would be compatible with my system and any recommendations on what would be the best fit. I do tend to prefer nVidia cards but am in no way constrained by that. I'm happy to spend a little more for that added performance, I would rather get something better now and not have to upgrade again for a while.

Thanks in advance!

They recently purchased a new monitor that has a 1600x900 native resolution, but the max supported resolution by the system is 1280x768. After upgrading the drivers for the monitor and the graphics controller, nothing has changed. I am interested in getting a graphics card powerful enough that will increase the max supported resolution and provide enough graphics processing to handle multimedia tasks easily. I don't want a card that requires a new PSU in order to work. I have no idea as to how to go about selecting a compatible card. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I pre-ordered Windows 7 but the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor says my onboard graphics adapter won't support the Windows Aero User Interface. I don't play games on my PC but I would like all the fancy visual features of Windows 7. How do I go about choosing a graphics card that will do the job for me?

Thanks in advance...

A:Graphics card upgrade for Dell Dimension 5150

Marty welcome to the forums.

Before buying a new card, wait until you get Windows 7 and install it. There is a good possibility that it will work (the upgrade advisor for the most part is a piece of junk, I have seen it flag components as unsupported when I know full well that it is).

Once you get 7 installed this,

ATI Catalyst? Legacy Display Driver

will be about it for a driver. If it doesn't work and you still want to get a card let us know and we can recommend something. If nothing else according to the specs for your Dell,

Dimension 5150 Desktop Product Details

you have a PCI-E 16x slot, which is good. It only has a 305W power supply which isn't so good, but there are still lots of cards that will be OK on it.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

While it is true your computer doesn`t have AGP or pci-e slots, it does have 3 pci slots.

So, a pci graphics card upgrade is possible and would be far better than your current onboard graphics chip.

Take a look at this excellent thread HERE.

All AGP 8x cards are fully downward compatible. If a motherboard "only" has an AGP 4x interface, the cards will recognize this and behave like any normal AGP 4x card.

A:Problems With Video Card On Dell Dimension

Minimum power supply for a 9400GT is 350W. It looks like the chokepoints on your system are older mobo, proc, and small PSU. But like you said, you could certainly squeeze more life out of it with a video card upgrade, but along with it NEEDS to come a psu upgrade.

hello...I dont really know much about video cards to start out just recently got a Nvidia GeForce 6200 OC PCI video card to play the sims 3 and WoW. The sims 3 would give me the blue screen of death saying I was caught in an infinite loop or something...I could always play WoW with my onboard card but ever since upgrading/downgrading WoW crashes randomly...mostly in the city of dalaran..but anyways I was wondering what a good upgrade would be for my video card to end these problems.

I have a Dell Dimension 8200 desktop, and I'm looking to upgrade my Video Card (currently have NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX400 64MB). I'm going to be primarily using the PC for Games, so that's my main motivation. I just got the Battlefield 2 game, and found out that I had to have at least 128MB to run it...ughh. Not looking to blow the bank here....I would like to keep it under $100 if possible. Looking at 256MB and 128MB...what cards should I look at?Here are my system specs:

Dimension 8200
Pentium 4 (1.9GHz)
Windows XP
Standard 250W power supply
maybe I forgot is the Dell 8200 Specs URL:

I've heard good things about the ATI 9600 Pro and the GeFORCE from BFG (b/c of warranty). Also, I'm looking for an AGP card, not PCI. Thanks for the help.

A:Dimension 8200 Video Card upgrade

Battlefield 2 is a pretty graphic intensive game, so be forewarned. If you don't mind me being straight....

With your system and the budget you are under, you are not going to be able to play that game at full settings. However, I think we can get you a card that'll allow you to at least play the game. You'll have to turn the settings down a bit, and accept some lower frame rates, but if you stick a geforce 6600 or an X700 in there, you should be able to play the game.

Your motherboard only supports 2x/4x but any 8x card you buy will still work, it is just not going to work at it's full potential (it'll automatically downgrade itself to work with your motherboard).

Another thing that is limiting you is your ram. For BF2, a gig of ram would make a big difference.

But..... I am worried that you are going to have enough power from your power supply to handle these additions. It's going to be a close call.

You can do some quick math on this website:

The PSU will be able to handle an 8600GT\GTS easily (I'm assuming it's the 305W PSU the PC came with, with the two 18A +12V rails?). As for the 8800 cards, yes the EA430 will work perfectly fine.

But you would see a noticeable bottleneck with your current processor with an 8800 series card. This will be especially noticeable on games that involve heavy AI crunching, such as most RTS and RPG games. This also includes most recent games from other genres as well, including that system-slayer called Crysis.

Nvidia GeForce FX5200 (128mb).

I uninstalled the Nvidia drivers, powered down, swapped cards, and then installed the ATI drivers. Now, for some reason, I only see the color BLUE on my screen... in the BIOS, in Vista... everywhere. What did I do wrong? Can I fix it?

Sounds like you are good to go. My device manager also shows two entries of the video card (one as a secondary device). I did research it once, and I believe it had something to do with the TV out, and is perfectly normal.

By the way, that link shows that you DO have an option for disabling onboard graphics under the advanced option. Sounds like your board has automatically done it for you though (which many boards do).

Alright so I have a Dell Dimension 8300 that currently has in it a Nvidia Geforce 6200 video card. Recently, I discovered a PNY Verto GeForce 6800 that was in a box of old hardware I had. So I began searching the web, and found that it was supposedly compatible with the Dimension 8300. I then tried installing this card into said computer, it fit in just fine but whenever I turn the computer on with this new video card inside of it I am greeted with this god-awful beeping noise. Does anyone know what is wrong? Can it be fixed or am I stuck with the 6200 card? Please respond, ShadowSplicer.

A:Can anyone suggest a video card for old Dell Dimension 2100

Any PCI card should theoretically work since your motherboard has PCI slots. It's likely that the PSU is causing problems. 145W is a bit too low to run a system with a dedicated GPU (I think).

Anyhow, the Dimension 2100 is a very old system and adding a GPU will not make much of a difference as far as performance is concerned.

Evga NVIDIA GeForce GT 520

Out of them please tell 1) Which could fit and 2) Which would be best (out of the ones that would fit if there's more than one)

You can use any of it but do not forget to check the hardware requirement for the video card before purchasing.
Because if you buy a video card which is not compatible with your system configuration then that may create more issues to it
Hope that answer your question

I have a DELL DIMENSION 3000 desktop. I would like to connect 2 LCDs to it but it is not possible. With the current video card (Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller [Display adapter]) only 1 monitor can be connected. I do not know which video cards my computer supports. Can anyone recommend me a reliable but cheap video card that is compatible with my desktop?

A:Recommend me a video card for DELL DIMENSION 3000!

What you have to do is read the specifications for the video cards when you're shopping for one.

Look for a video card that says it's "Dual-Link DVI Supported"

Other things you need to know, based on your specific computer model:
what type of interface do you need to buy? AGP, PCI, PCI-e etc.
how many PSU (power supply unit) watts do you have?
also make sure the video card supports your screen resolution.

you can try DriverEasy and see if it finds any working drivers(?) it was recommended to me also here on TechSpot so now I pass it on for me it works really good, the only down side with the free version of the program is that the download is really slow (limited to 8-20kbps).

Do you mean you want to remove the integrated wound card? -basically everything that is "integrated" can be disabled (in the bios) but not removed. If you get an other sound card and install it then most likely the bios will automatically disable the integrated sound card.

Okay, so I still have my old 8300 (along with my newer computers), I'm looking to upgrade my 512 MB of memory to the max 4GB. I also have a GeForce FX 5200 128MB Video Card (AGP) that I would like to update. Now I know this computer is old but I'm looking for some suggestions on what I can do with this computer concerning upgrades on the memory card & video card. I've been researching parts on Newegg but want to make sure I know what's compatible. Some folks say 4GB is to much memory and also the video card cannot be above 256 MB for this computer? This computer is used by my daughter for basic internet, facebook, and no serious gaming. The computer runs Windows XP SP3, memory speed 400 MHz, and help would be greatly appreciated :wave :

A:Upgrading Dell Dimension 8300 Video/Memory Card

4GB is too much if you plan on sticking with Windows XP... 2GB is plenty for the older OS (that's still four times the memory!) -especially since the computer is considered general purpose... There are a lot of video cards out there for low end usage, and if you really want to upgrade from the older card check out some deals on the latest AGP cards. The interface is aged now so you wont have to spend much for what you're looking for, and honestly if you just need the computer for internet i'd keep the 5200. Video memory doesn't matter but you don't need anything more than 256MB...

May seem like a dumb question but I've never had a dell before and this one is getting on my nerves. Ok short story is I inherited this PC from my late mother in law. She had only 256 ram so I bought 1GB and installed it and it still ran slow. Now my 7 year old downloaded a trojan virus which made the PC run even slower. I got rid of the trojan and it still runs slow. I figured I'd be better off just reinstalling windows but everyone wants atleast $80 to $100 to do it, I'd figured I could do it myself but have no idea how to with a Dell. It's an Dimension 1100 Series, has Intel Celeron CPU 2.53 Ghz, DVD/Cd-Rw, that's about it. I've download the drivers and backed up important files just need alittle more info to get going. Your help is greatly appreciated.

A:Dell XPS 8300 video card upgrade

Might not. There seem to be compatability issues with Nvidia.
Perhaps a Radeon 7950 and corsair CS850M would be in order.

Hi kamel20dzThanks for posting. While this may be possible, the power supply unit may not be enough to power the video card. Here's an interesting article that may address your concerns.

Hello All,

I recently purchased a Dell Optiplex 745 SFF. I currently am using a Dell 4100 and it just wasn't cutting it so I decided to do a bit of an upgrade. I'm having difficulty locating a video card for an upgrade. The PSU is only capable of 275 watts (as advertised). I've read a couple of places that this is rating is underestimated of the actual capabilities? Regardless, I still am having a difficult time of locating a video card, mainly because most sites don't advertise the minimum PSU wattage. If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd like to have at least a 256mb video card.

For reference the card needs to be the following:

PCI-E x16
Low Profile
Maximum of 275w...

Thanks all!

A:Dell D800 video card upgrade

what is the full name of your laptop? is it a d800 inspiron? i found this card on ebay that sounds better than a 5650.

it says that it has an nvidia quadro fx 750 chipset.

is your laptop a latitude or an inspiron?

A few days I ago I bought the Inspiron 580 with the i3-550 processor at a good price at one of the local stores that is close to my home. I really don't want to use the onboard video card because its does a poor job for cleaning up streaming video on the internet. I would like to know what video card is recommended for my use. I want a entry level dedicated video card that has decent video processing and also I want to know if there is a way to disable the onboard video when I get a new video card?

A:Dell Inspiron 580: Which Video Card Upgrade

gregpod9 I want a entry level dedicated video card that has decent video processing
You get what you pay for, an "entry level" video card may not be any better than the on-board video, if that is the real problem with streaming video.
The 580 has a PCIeX16 slot for an add on video card.  The stock power supply is only a 300 watt which will somewhat limit you on choices of "HD Video" cards.  The manual does not detail it, that I can find, but on most the BIOS will autodetect a PCIeX16 slot video card and make that the default.  On models that do not autodetect, you can manually change that in the Setup (F2 at POST to access the Setup (BIOS)).

Hello everyone,
I just replaced the failing motherboard in my Dell Inspiron 530, with the same model, G33M02,because an aftermarket board wouldn't work, due to the I/O shield not being removable. and currently looking for a video card upgrade to watch Netflix and YouTube videos in HD format. I don't plan to game with this computer, it was a freebie given to me by a friend, and I'm using it as a spare. The PSU is a 300watt Bestec model. And, processor is an Intel Celeron 420 Conroe-L Single-Core @ 1.6ghz with 2 GB dual-channel memory, 80gb hard drive. I don't plan to spend no more then $50 dollars. Any suggestions?

The Sapphire 6450 is about $40, and it's perfect for Netflix. There was a refurbished Asus 6450 available for $25, but they may all be sold.
