I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Just got a gift from a friend. A Panasonic CF48E. Put a new HD in it, Installed WIN XP pro, and was happy... NO sound.. Looking at the Control panell, looks like the Multimedia Audio Controller has a ( ! ) in the yellow circle. Downloaded what seems to be the correct drivers for it, ir starts to install but mid installation I get the Blue SOD, that says portcls.sys, and it shuts down, and restarts the laptop real fast ( no time to read what the blue screen says..
Anyone see that problem before?
Any solutions? I read all kinds of suggestions, but none work.
Help please.

I recently bought a used Panasonic Toughbook CF-73. I formatted and re-installed Windows XP. I am unable to find a few drivers, mainly the audio driver. I have a panasonic toughbook CF-R3 and the problem I have is that sometimes it turns on and the times time not. The LED is on and when I push the power button it turns off and if I leave it in the bag a couple of days then it works fine but as soon as I turn off again it will need some days to be able to start again. Very bizzare! Does anyone have any idea.

A:Toughbook won't turn on sometimes

When you shut it off, do you close the lid?

If you do, next time don't and see =over a period of several days if it starts ok.

If it does, then a sticky micro-switch on the close-lid circuit is likely.

I have a Panasonic Toughbook running Windows 2000.
I used to be able to run wireless PCMCIA adapters and it worked.

Now when I insert both a Netgear and D-link PCMCIA card the entire system freezes.(after installing the drivers) I pull the card out and the system resumes. Also, the lights on the PCMCIA flash and do what they are suppposed to do.

I can use my D-link wired PCMCIA adapter.

So - it is not the PCMCIA slot - it is not the cards - they both work on other computers. It must be 2000.

Anyone have nay thoughts on what i can try next?

This is fixable. You may need to open up the Laptop
and reset a jumper temporarily.

Sometimes manufacturers post bios default password on there site.

Bad connection maybe? Thanks for any help- if you need anymore detail i will post later, i am in a rush now.

A:Panasonic CF-72 LCD Problem

It could be interference, but its more likely that you are trying to use a screen resolution or refresh rate that isn't fully supported by your flat panel.
You will need to read its manual and adjust your resolution according to what it says.

I connected the computer's REAR OUT to the receiver's Game/Aux IN via a mini stereo headphone to stereo rca's goldplated cable from Radio Shack. I'm getting a sound from the speakers that she describes as a "mind numbing buzz," anytime the receiver is set to Game/Aux.

I've seen answers for those experiencing similar problems with their stand-alone sound cards, but no answers for the stressed out parents of AC'97s.

Is there anybody out there that can help me get back my saved recordings from my Panasonic DMR-EX99V
hard drive recorder? I accidentally FORMATTED it.
I have taken the hard drive out hoping that I can UNFORMAT it using Easeus Data Recovery software on
my computer but the drive is not recognized although it knows a new drive has been plugged in.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate

A:Need help retrieving recordings from a Panasonic recorder

Easeus won't "unformat" the drive. All it can do is copy the files from the drive onto a different HDD.

The problem you are likely having is that the Panasonic does not use a Windows supported file system. Thus Windows (and Easeus) cannot read the drive.

It could be a Linux format, or it could be some proprietary format. Neither of which Windows will be able to read.

Hi there.

Panasonic Matshita UJ272 Blu-Ray Internal Burner Bd-r/RE XL 100 GB Drive for Laptop with SATA Connection and Ultra Slimline 9.5 mm Drive Bay

Anybody tries these yet --I'm particularly interested if they will fit into 9.5inch small form factor used on those small cube boxes such as micro servers / NAS boxes etc etc).

DVD isn't yet totally dead and this seem a neater solution than kludging around with external drives. OK it's not cheap compared with standard larger models but it WRITES and is small form factor.

Any drawbacks with this device. It's also TRAY loading - always IMO better than Slot loading. I can change the Bezel too if need be.

What is the make and model # of your DVD burner? Is it a Double Layer (DVD9) burner? What are the brands of blanks? What is the burn speed you are using to burn DVD's? Are the blanks DVD+R, DVD-R or DVD-RW?
Do not use generic blanks. Use only named brand blanks. (Phillips, Sony, TDK etc) I have most luck with -R blanks and not the +R discs. -+RW discs are harder to work with because they have to be formatted before they can be used and they need to be finalized before they can be ejected. You should burn at the slowest speed for your media. Burning at too fast of a speed will fail the burn or make it so it cannot be played without skipping.

Hello Elizabeth, Welcome to TSF!

There are a couple of ways that might help you with this issue.

Method One: Remove the registry entry

Warning: Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly by using Registry Editor or by using another method. These problems might require that you reinstall your operating system.

Please Note: If you had installed multiple CD-writing software products on your computer, you need to uninstall the software products before you remove the registry keys.

1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.

3. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

4. On the File menu, click Export.

5. In the File name box, type savedkey, and then click Save.

6. Click the REG_MULTI_SZ data type UpperFilters, and then click Delete on the Edit menu. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.

Note: If this data type is missing, go to Method 2.

7. Click the REG_MULTI_SZ data type LowerFilters, and then click Delete on the Edit menu. When you are prompted to confirm the deletion, click Yes.

8. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

Method 2: Replace the existing driver

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

2. If Control Panel is in Category view, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.

If Control Panel is in Classic view, double-click System.

3. On the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.

4. Click the drive with the question mark (?) next to it.

5. On the Action menu, click Uninstall. When you are prompted to confirm the removal, click OK.

6. Repeat steps 4 through 5 for any other drives with question marks.

7. On the Action Menu, click Scan for hardware changes.

Close all windows and reboot the computer.

Please give these two methods a try and post back with the results.

Kind Regards,

I am trying to get my Panasonic Digital Video Camera NV-DS15B to connect to my Sony Vaio laptop running on Windows 7.

It doesn't automatically recognise the camera, merely states that it is an unknown device and windows has stopped it as it is not working properly.

I have searched the Panasonic website, but the camera seems to be too old to have a driver available for download.

Doing an online search, there seems to be people who have managed to get some kind of generic software to make it run, but equal numbers don't. Before I make some kind of mistake, I would rather have TSF expert advice.

Thank you.

I had a similar problem with my Panasonic video camera (even older than yours - it uses VHS tapes). I had to get a TV card (mine was from Hauppage) and video converter (from Radio Shack). Then I played the video in a VCR (using the Panasonic VHS adapter), through the video converter, into the TV Card - and recorded that way.

If yours is able, you may be able to skip the VCR step and go straight through the video converter to your TV card.

Hi, I am new to this but I have had for several years two panasonic cameras one NV-DS28 and one NV-DS65 both of these worked fine with the software DV Studio that came with the cameras. I purchased another firewire card just in case that was the problem but still nothing I contacted panasonic and they informed me that dv studio is not compatible with 7 but Windows Movie maker will pick up the cameras BUT IT DOESN'T. I have tried everything that I can think of but still nothing not even an error code. I hope someone out there may be able to help. I have looked for update driver ETC.

i have to put the hz via my laptop settings to 30hz but i then loose my 1080p settings. You do not have 1080p on your TV, it its HD settings are only for 720p and 1080i. set your TV to 720p and lower the Resolution on your PC.Whats your screen resolution currently on your laptop, if its the Native Resolution, its bigger then your TV can view, you need to make your resolution smaller.(1,024 x 768) TV 720*(1366x768) PCAlso, check your TV settings, look for where it says the screen resolution, you can change it from 1080i to 720P (i)interlaced (p)progressive. You might also be able to change the refresh rate, it should be 60hz,This will help with the flickering. Also, make sure your laptops screen saver is activated, you dont want to accidently leave the screen on your TV being its a Plasma and burn the image in.

the intelligent auto setting on my Panasonic DMC-TZ4 camera doesn't work. I get a message to turn off and on the camera but that doesn't help. All the other settings to take photos or video work. I tried the intelligent auto setting many times over a several week period without success and then it worked briefly again yesterday, then I heard a big pop sound and it stopped working again. All other settings are fine. I was thinking of taking the camera to a local repair person, but wanted some sense first of what the problem might be and whether it was repairable.

A:Panasonic DMC-TZ4 intelligent auto broken

Anytime a camera snaps, crackles, or "pops!" it sounds likes it needs repair.
Can it be repaired? I'd say yes, as almost anything can be repaired. But is it worth the expense?
To get something as intricate as an electronic camera repaired I'll bet it is going to cost at least $100, and you can get better cameras than this 8M pixel for not much more than this already. Even some cell phones get that range of resolution. Wait another couple months and 13 to 41M pixel camera phones will be common.

Please suggest what I can do to fix the problem.

A:Cannot transfer videos from Panasonic Camera DMC-Zs20 to my PC using Photofun

If the videos are on a memory card, buy a card reader which accepts the type of card your camera uses. Plug the card reader into a USB port on your PC (no external driver is required as Windows already has a generic driver for it).

Now remove the card from the camera and push it carefully into the appropriate slot on the card reader. You should now be able to open a window showing the contents of the card, and you can copy'paste the videos to your videos folder or wherever you want. Doing it that way means you don't need the PhotoFun software at all for transferring files from the camera.

Using a card reader is so much easier than fumbling about with your camera and a cable to connect it to your PC.

I didnt even know touch screen cameras were avalible. I would suggest you go try it out in a store setting. If it is really compact I can see big fingers being an issues- as they can be with smartphone keyboards. Otherwise at this point I wouldn't sink much money into a digital camera seeing they are dirt cheap these days. the next technology is the consumer friend dSLRs which are more compact than a traditional SLR. but they have interchangeable lenses. A:panasonic lumix DMC ZS7 sd card problems

Hi Oran,
two issues here.
1. The videos you take on your camera are in a format your PC does not currently support. If you check this review of your camera near the bottom of the first page it talks about opening and converting the AVCHD Lite videos:

2. It sounds like the SD card slot is not picking up the SD card properly, hence why you can't see or play back any videos or pics from the card. In my Lumix TZ6 the card goes in so far, then there is a bit of a bounce as it clips in. Are your cards doing this? If so, and if they are not being picked up, I would take the camera to a repair shop as the SD slot may be damaged.

I think that is the same model as mine. There is a mode that you can turn on and off to use the built in viewfinder only. If that is turned on then you can't see anything on the crystal display and it will appear that your camera is not working. It's a small button above the crystal display that you just press and your camera should work normally.

A:Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18

I’m not sure what you might have been doing before, but the specs for the camera show that in shutter and aperture priority it is limited to 8 seconds and in full manual it is 60 seconds: It appears to be working properly.

Long zoom shots with difficult contrast will cause most non-DSLR cameras to hunt for focus. On a bright day shooting a normal scene at wide angle, if it is taking several seconds to focus there is something wrong and you might contact Panasonic for repairs. But if it is just happening sometimes and especially at zoom it is probably normal.

I just purchased this TV and used a very cheap 6 foot HDMI cable to connect it to my satellite receiver.

The picture looks fantastic when objects are shown up close. But small or far away objects appear pixelated. It's just not the resolution I've come to expect from an HDTV.

I've set the satellite output to 720p but curiously and perhaps unrelated, the picture only works with 4:3 aspect ratio and the 16:9 appears stretched. I've tried all the different formats and the 4:3 is the one that produces the best picture.

Is there an issue with the HDMI cable, or is the problem somewhere else?

A:Could cheap HDMI cable cause pixelation on Panasonic TC-L37C22 720p LCD HDTV?

It may not be the cable. Unless you got it at a dollar store for $1.00, an inexpensive 6 foot HDMI cable should be able to handle 720P OK.

Are you watching an actual HD channel when checking the picture quality? If not, the receiver is upconverting the 480 lines of standard definition TV to 720 lines and that can cause some pixelization.

The pixelization may also be due to over compression of the video by the satellite operator. The cable and satellite companies are all falling over each other claiming they have more HD channels than the competition and are adding channels to back up their claims. Given a limited and finite amount of satellite bandwidth, they need to increase the compression to fit more channels. Some channels may get compressed more than others. The additional compression may have some intelligence and apply higher compression to parts of the scene that it deems to be of less importance.

Did you finalize the disc as the last step of the burning process on the recorder? It will only play on the recorder until it is finalized.

I have a Sony HDR-CX7 camcorder which records in .mts on to a memory stick and when I download the files onto my hard drive using the bundled software, it saves as .m2ts. I bought the Panasonic BD35 since it plays AVCHD and had an SD slot. I thought I should be able to directly transfer my .mts or .m2ts files on to an SD card and be able to play them but I keep getting an incompatible file error. I tried burning the files on a dvd but that did not work either. I've been trying to figure out what I need to do to convert my files into a playable AVCHD format. If anyone has any experience with this and wouldn't mind giving me a step by step (please be specific) of what to do, I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
