I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hi,I am currently using IE7 and anytime I launch IE7 I am being redirected to: http://runonce.msn.com/runonce3.aspxThis page also fails to load successfully. A javaScript error indication is displayed in the lower left hand corner of IE7 browser window. As a result of this error, I cannot walk through the steps to customize IE7.I have tried an "runonce" remover application from www.download.com that was specifically created to fix this problem and it did absolutely nothing. This page is still displayed when I launch IE7.I also modified the following regsitry entries:[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]"RunOnceHasShown"=dword:00000001"RunOnceComplete"=dword:00000001This also had no effect. Can anyone shed some light on how to resolve this ANNOYING issue? Cheers!spazz22

I am also having the same problem and have also changed the registry 3 different ways as other techs have requested to do and none of them worked. If i come across one thats works I will post it. GOOD LUCK!

I was getting this same error and your workaroudn worked fine, but whenever I load the Microsoft pictire it app I get the same IE error with no line numbers. So I think what I am looking for is whats causing the javascript problem in the firstplace rather than a workaround to bypass it.

I have deleted all temp files and cookies.
reset all security to defaults and reset the last tab to the defaults.
i tried disabling all the addons which I found in another page to work.

any ideas?

really frustrating!

Thanks for your help!

whether i choose Keep my current default search provider or Let me select from a list of other search providers and select save your settings the green button will turn to "applying your settings" but then at the top I get "Settings were not able to be saved successfully." When I do open up IE at first it looks like it's going to load http://go.microsoft.com/wlink/?linkid=74005. I have Xp and IE version 7, sp3. I tried some other link where it suggest I go to regedit and [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] "RunOnceHasShown"=dword:1 "RunOnceComplete"=dword:1
but I dont see runoncehasshown or runoncecomplete..I can go up to the URL address bar and go to google, yahoo, etc but this is getting annoying.

Hi there,

None of the solutions provided work for me.
Running XP pro sp2.

The registry key mentioned does not exist, running gpedit.msc comes up with 'snap in failed to initialize', and the trusted site solution doesn't do anything as it seems to be a javascript error on the page.

Any more suggestions?

Thanks.

Hello and welcome to TSF

Please try these:

http://www.pcdoctor-guide.com/wordpress/?p=3691

This fix is quite easy.

* Click Start > Run and type the following into the Open box:
gpedit.msc
Click OK.
* Using the left hand pane, navigate as follows:
User Configuration
> Administrative Templates
> Windows Components
> Internet Explorer
* In the right-hand side pane double-click on Prevent performance of First Run Customize settings
* Change the setting for Prevent performance of First Run Customize settings to Enabled and use the drop-down box to select Go directly to home page

* Click OK and close Group Policy
* Restart Internet Explorer 7

There are a couple of other possible fixes.

First involves a registry edit.

* Click Start > Run and type the following into the Open box:
regedit
Click OK.
* Using the left-hand pane, navigate to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main
* In the right-hand pane, right-click on RunOnceHasShown and change the value to 1
* Close Regedit and restart Internet Explorer 7

Alternatively, making the following tweak to the trusted sites also seems to work:

* Click Tools > Internet Options
* Click on the Security tab
* Click on Trusted Sites and then the Sites button

* Add the following site to the trusted zone:
*.msn.com
Click Add and then uncheck the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone and click close
* Click OK

After doing any of the above you will have to reset your home page to whatever it was you used before by clicking on Tools > Internet Options and typing the URL into the Home Page box.

Always, when I open IE, this it redirects the webpage to this: http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx

I set my homepage to blank but it still does this...

The first time I saw the website, I just followed the instructions and pressed " save my settings." I waited for an hour and it still said "applying settings." It does that every time I try to set the settings.

How do I just skip it; it's getting annoying.

Hello Dave

It seems to be connected to " Live and Work in USA ?Green Card Lottery"

Did you visit that site?

Look for it in Add/Remove Programs and also in msconfig.
If you cannot get rid of it you will need to visit our "Virus Removal Forum"

Please read ?Virus/Trojan/Spyware Removal Help ? and follow the instructions very carefully; then, post all the requested logs and information in the Virus Help Forum
If you cannot complete any step, just miss it out and do what you can, but be sure to include this information in your post.
Please ensure that you create a new thread in the Virus Help Forum; not back here in this one.

Please be patient, as the Security Team Analysts are usually very busy; one of them will answer your request as soon as they can.

Have a problem which has largely been fixed by sheer luck.

At first when browsing, redirections would occur and popups also.

Fixed much of this over time but now left with something that simply opens up a second window and redirects to //540.filost.com/randomsites/banner.aspx

Have disabled the site and doesn't open but its a real nuisance when browsing the net.

Also I ran a software check using XoftSpy (haven't bought yet) which picked up numerous errors and problems. Wondering if theres a free spyware package out there that might fix some of the problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A:Browser Redirection To "http://540.filost.com/randomsites/banner.aspx"

This link will give you excellent freeware alternatives, I think. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic3616.html Good job with the "sheer luck", but I think you should give yourself more credit, since you do understand the nature of typical malware action being re-direction ... the definition of hi-jacking. Site blocking or disabling the browser from accessing any given URL (universal resource locator = web address) is an effective way to deal with it. You'll find that within the freeware applications listed at the above link, several use effective techniques in doing this, and they are constantly updating the definitions of the growing number of malware producing URLs online as needed. People tend to think if they paid for software it must be better than freeware, although this simply is not true. What you are looking for in anti-spyware (or anti-virus, anti-trojan, anti-most anything) are primarily two things: 1. Does the software perform the function intended in such a way that it is effective? 2. If this technique depends on "definition updating", is that done on a frequent enough basis? I think XoftSpy would meet that criteria. The actual implementation of those updates can be done by you, or automatically by "cooperation between your PC and the appropriate URL involved." You might have to personally confirm that updates are indeed available, or perhaps be automatically notified of that fact, and need to perform the simple download/installation yourself. It depends on the software offered how it can be done.Full automation is often unavailable in freeware, but likely a component of shareware.Full automation is often not particularly desirable, since using multiple applications in a "layered approach" to help insurethat "what one might miss this week, the other will pick up" can lead to conflicts in the multiple auto-updating feature ...even if no other conflicts exist between the various programs running on your hard drive. Without belaboring the issue, Theres only a handful of unique techniques in the identification of malware types. All such programs use one or more of them. Additional considerations to use in comparison "shopping" include: GUI (the Graphical User Interface) is it "user friendly" and attractive in your eyes? Speed: Does it work consistently at a pace you feel is appropriate, given your experience? Fit on PC: Does it work as a good "team player" with other applications you've installed? To a large extent trial & error experimentation is required before good decisions are made, and trade-offs regarding personal criteria before final determinations are to be expected. Good software retailers generally anticipate this and offer trial periods. Shareware it's called. One last comment. If software doesn't uninstall easily or properly, I downgrade it's value to me.

Close/Exit Spybot Search and Destroy2.I do not recommend that you have more than one anti virus product installed and running on your computer at a time. The reason for this is that if both products have their automatic (Real-Time) protection switched on, then those products which do not encrypt the virus strings within them can cause other anti virus products to cause "false alarms". It can also lead to a clash as both products fight for access to files which are opened again this is the resident/automatic protection. In general terms, the two programs may conflict and cause:1) False Alarms: When the anti virus software tells you that your PC has a virus when it actually doesn't. 2) System Performance Problems: Your system may lock up due to both products attempting to access the same file at the same time. Therefore please go to add/remove in the control panel and remove either Bitdefender Antivirus or Norton Security Suite.3.Please download the TDSS Rootkit Removing Tool (TDSSKiller.exe) and save it to your Desktop. <-Important!!!Be sure to download TDSSKiller.exe (v2.4.0.0) from Kaspersky's website and not TDSSKiller.zip which appears to be an older version 2.3.2.2 of the tool.Double-click on TDSSKiller.exe to run the tool for known TDSS variants.
Vista/Windows 7 users right-click and select Run As Administrator. If TDSSKiller does not run, try renaming it. To do this, right-click on TDSSKiller.exe, select Rename and give it a random name with the .com file extension (i.e. 123abc.com). If you do not see the file extension, please refer to How to change the file extension.Click the Start Scan button.Do not use the computer during the scanIf the scan completes with nothing found, click Close to exit.If malicious objects are found, they will show in the Scan results - Select action for found objects and offer three options.Ensure Cure (default) is selected, then click Continue > Reboot now to finish the cleaning process.A log file named TDSSKiller_version_date_time_log.txt (i.e. TDSSKiller.2.4.0.0_27.07.2010_09.o7.26_log.txt) will be created and saved to the root directory (usually Local Disk C:).Copy and paste the contents of that file in your next reply.4.Please Run Gmer again and post the resultsThings to include in your next reply::TDSSKILLER logA new Gmer logA new DDS logHow is your machine running now?

Does this update allow Win 10 components to 'infect' Win 7? I have heard that M$ Win 10 apps won't play with older OSs unless there is some component of Win 10 on my machine.

Update for Universal C Runtime in Windows

This article describes an update for Universal C Runtime (CRT) in Windows.
The Windows 10 Universal CRT is a Windows operating system component that enables CRT functionality on the Windows operating system. This update allows Windows desktop applications that depend on the Windows 10 Universal CRT release to run on earlier Windows operating systems.
Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 creates a dependency on the Universal CRT when applications are built by using the Windows 10 Software Development Kit (SDK). You can install this update on earlier Windows operating systems to enable these applications to run correctly.

A:what is a fault bucket?

A fault bucket identification number is a number assigned by the system to identify specific types of errors usually this correlates to problems showing in the Event Viewer.
Also this identifcation number is what is used by Microsoft in order to identify a particular program error when you send an error report.

A:Fault Bucket???

As I understand it...fault buckets are basically program debug mistakes which cause the system/program to crash.See http://phorums.com.au/archive/index.php/t-210235.htmlWhen it happens on my system, I just assume that the program has damaged files, needs updating, or needs reinstalling. If it's a known program that I can't update and which I know has a history of being troublesome, I just ignore the error...since the resolution would probably involve removing the program. If I had a large number of these, due to the same application...I would remove the program permanently.Louis

I recently ran a couple firewall tests, shields up and auditmypc etc. They're both coming up with a port that's open. I think they called it Tram. It says this port is commonly used for trojans. But my biggest concern is that it is open and I would like to shut it. I have searched my firewall completely for port control options and cannot find the solution anywhere. It also said that my computer responded to Ping (ICMP Echo) Requests. Buy my firewall says that this is blocked, so I do not know how it is still responding. If anyone has had any similar experiences with these firewall test sites, because I don't know if it is my computer or the sites themselves. Please feel free to envelope me in the answer to my frustration.

Hello ent, welcome to the forum. is this an XP machine? Please run this scan, before doing so temporarily shut down Spybot. Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and save it to your desktop.alternate download link 1alternate download link 2Make sure you are connected to the Internet.Double-click on Download_mbam-setup.exe to install the application. When the installation begins, follow the prompts and do not make any changes to default settings. When installation has finished, make sure you leave both of these checked:Update Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareLaunch Malwarebytes' Anti-MalwareThen click Finish.MBAM will automatically start and you will be asked to update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, the program will automatically update itself. Press the OK button to close that box and continue. If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install. On the Scanner tab:Make sure the "Perform Quick Scan" option is selected. Then click on the Scan button. If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button. The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient. When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.Back at the main Scanner screen, click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to restart your computer. (see Note below)The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply and exit MBAM.Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts. Click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

Get a load of this. I rebooted my computer this evening, got a message that one app was still running that was keeping it from rebooting. Reboot anyway? Indeed and only to get an exciting blue screen with three options. One was F8 which did nothing and the Escape which puts me into the BIOS.
When I go into Advance, I see a SATA Mode Selection. Hitting the Enter button, I see AHC1 is presently highlighted. There are two other options, one being IDE and the other RAID. Should I select one of those or do you feel my SSD has totally gone to pieces?

A:Samsung SSD appears to have kicked the bucket

The SATA mode selection should be set to AHCI, unless you have more then one SSD or HDD in a RAID Array then you would choose RAID. IDE is for the older IDE HDD's and running older OS's like XP.
In the Bios, on the Main screen it should list your Drives by manufacturer on your computer. Is your SSD showing in the Bios? If not, the drive may have become unplugged. Check the SATA data cable is plugged in tightly to the SSD and to the motherboard SATA port 1. And the power plug from the PSU is still plugged in tight to the back of the SSD. Make sure the SATA port is Enabled in the Bios. Try a different Data cable, try a different Power Plug from the PSU, try a different SATA port on the motherboard.
You also can remove the SSD and attach it to a USB Adapter, Dock or Enclosure with a power adapter. To see if it is recognized on another computer.

Please go to the C:\Windows\Minidump directory and zip up the contents of that folder. Then upload the .zip file in your next post. We'll have a look at the dmp files and will see if that gives us any information.

Have you checked to ensure that the laptop fans are running? Have you blown out the vents with compressed air (don't us a vacuum or an air compressor - it'll damage the components)?

Have you recently changed anything on the system? Do you recall anything unusual that stands out in your mind?

Is this the same system you've been working on here with MFD? http://forums.techguy.org/security/457794-i-think-i-have-blackworm.html

If so, you need to stick to that thread only.
You've created about 5 or 6 new threads since then.

i am almost completely P.C. numpty. I have asked a question related to Excel formula and I am informed i have solutions but HOW do I view/access the answers??

A:How to access the responses

There are various ways but this will find it:http://www.computing.net/answers/of...It was originally on Windows Vista forum (I think) but has been shifted to Office Software which is more appropriate. That might have confused things but I thought there was some automatic linking invoked when this happened. One of the ways you can normally find it is using "Message Find" with the number in the address (13894 in this case). I think you can go to your "My Computing Net" pages and see it listed there too. Sorry if this is all a bit woolly but it's years since I raised a new post of my own on here. I assume there was not a link given when you were informed there was an input.Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanksmessage edited by Derek

My friends laptop won't boot...not even to Bios.
Here's the scenerio..
I turn it on, lcd lights flash, hear fan on-for about 10 seconds then it shuts off. YET, sometimes it get to the initial screen (the one that shows before the OS loads during bios boot time) and it will freeze thier.
Lights stay on, but fan shuts off

Here's what I've done...
1) re-seated memory
2) cleaned out fan (had a couple dust bunnies)
3)took out battery, restarted...

couldn't find the cmos battery to reset bios...?

Moniter works...any ideas???

One member asked me to post my HJT log and nobody has replied. I can't remember how to bump? Is it suddenly very busy on the site because I've noticed my posts often go unanswered which never, ever happened before.

thanks

A:How do I bump? No responses

You just post into your original thread yourself - something like: Please hlp - bump.
That way the thread will be put up top again and someone might take a look at it.

Malware topic herehttp://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic448436.html/page__p__2650069#entry2650069Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a Malware Removal Team member, nor should you continue to ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show it the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer. From this point on the Malware Removal Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean. Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the Malware Removal Team members are very busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the Malware Removal Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another MRL Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond. The current wait time is 1 - 3 days and ALL logs are answered. If HelpBot replies to your topic, PLEASE follow Step One so it will report your topic to the team members. To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic.

In the new Yahoo mail when I write a new message to someone I receive their response but responses sending not Yahoo when I respond to that in the same message they don't receive it When someone writes to me and I respond I don't receive their response back If I am able to create a new response then Yahoo not sending responses they will receive it but that is only if I already know their e-mail address They also no longer show someone's e-mail address in the from - only their name My e-mail address is noted as from Me written that way and not my name Also if I offer something on Freecycle they Yahoo put all of the responses in one message even if they are from different people and they don't differentiate if it is an old message or new Is there a way to change the settings to receive all separate messages Or anything to get it the way it used to be Thanks

A:Yahoo not sending responses

Hello -
Based on my Yahoo account, this is generally correct.

They screwed something up, and I have spent ages and emails trying to get the old system back.

It seems that Yahoo takes no notice of complaints (mine alone add up to about 100).

I do know that "Me" means me and a lot of other things are still not clear....

I hope others will have another reply, as I am not able to get any sense from Yahoo in the last few months -

Thank You -

So far I have tried three different image editing softwares with windows 7 HP/32-bit, with amazingly poor results.
Nikon Capture NX2 works nicely, GIMPshop 2.6.8 and PSP X3 are a different matter.
Corel does not display the NEF format correctly, and it crashes too often.
Gimpshop on the other hand responses sluggishly. So sluggishly that it is impossible to use.
These problems are NOT due to lack of hardware performance.
My previous computer (with XP) was much slower in terms of CPU/memory/disc speed, but all image editors run smoothly with it.
I wonder what could be wrong?
Is it windows 7, or maybe my graphics chip (Intel GMA4500 integrated)?

I am currently using Windows Server with IIS Currently we only have ASP NET services and web sites but I'm not certain its specific to asp net When we get requests in from Windows clients everything works fine However whenever we get requests from Mac clients it causes a spike in network utilization and the server stops processing any network traffic for a moment example remote desktop Incomplete to Mac Clients only responses sessions will end we can't ping the server etc After maybe seconds network comes back and everything appears normal When I run network monitor on this machine and view the network request responses to and from Incomplete responses to Mac Clients only the MAC machine I see the Http Response given is incomplete about bytes but this is not consistent and sometimes it will return more or less This is then followed by several up to retransmits of the response each one incomplete We have other servers with similar setups that do not have this issue I can't think of any IIS or network setting that might cause this behaviour Any information on what might cause this or something to look out for would be greatly appreciated Thanks

Hey, all. :)

When I go into Windows Explorer and right click on a file there tends to be a 15+ second delay for the menu popping up. The same is true when I try and delete a file (be it the delete key alone or Shift+Del).

I went into the registry and edited my right click menu, because I thought that may have been the cause. There are only 2 programs as well as the default windows options in the right click menu now, but I still have the same problem.

It seems to only happen the first two or three times, and it's only with Deleting and the Right Click menu.

Anyone have any thoughts on what it could be?

Thanks!

err, first I'd pop onto the Tinternet and find any online virus scanner and run it, and then do the same with another one, just to be double sure.

Now, pop along to http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/ and ask for a more profesional advice. Make sure you give them all the info on your system especially OS.

I've encountered a problem with my IE 7 that will not let it run the runonce3.aspx when IE 7 is first installed.

I've uninstalled IE7 and rolled back to IE6 and reinstalled IE7. This still didn't resolve the problem. I think that IE is have a problem running asp pages. For example, if I try to open my excite.com home page it sits on an Advertisement page and goes not further. I've also noticed that some button on other applications are not working.

This all started yesterday when I tried to upgrade my McAfee virus scan and my PC locked up. I've run regclean on my pc and upgraded to XP SP3 none of which has helped.

I've installed FireFox so that I can atleast get to the web. But I need IE for certain applications to work. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Running IE8 on Windows XP
Monthly I follow a favourite to the Windows update site (http://www.update.microsoft.com/wind...6/default.aspx ) to see if there are any updates - mostly to my office software.
The last few days when I go there it seems that IE8 does not recognise the extension .aspx and asks whether I want to download the page or find software which may run it.
This happens with any URL which ends .aspx
Anybody have an idea what the problem may be?

Hey There Boys and Girls, Mommies and Daddies,
I need a bit of assistance. I registered a number with the DoNotCall list. Due to circumstances,
my printer was not hooked up at the time, thus I could not print out the verification page.
Apparently Netscape saves pages in ASPX file format. How can this document be viewed and printed
in "normal" ways so as to be readable to the average person??
I'm currently running Win 98SE.
Thanks in advance for any solutions.

A:aspx...how to print out??

You could try opening it with your Netscape Browser

Do a search for the file, Right click the Aspx file, click open with
Browse to Netscape
Click OK

If not, try opening it with Internet Explorer

I'm experiencing a long delay whenever I try clicking on a button, selecting text, typing text, etc. Since it happens with the keyboard, it's obviously not my mouse. At first it seemed to happen only in IE 6, but now it happens on the desktop and in other applications. I've done both on line and offline virus scans and neither has detected any viruses. I've also deleted all temporary Internet files and ran Spy-bot and Ad Aware. I'm not sure what else could be causing this problem... any suggestions?

Whenever I restart my computer the Control Panel (which I have pinned to the taskbar) opens to no discernible purpose, and I always have to close it. Also, when I restart or just waken the computer from sleep I must always click on a square in the middle of the screen before I can resume operation. (Concerning this latter issue, that square apparently points to the user, but I am the only user.) Is there any way of making these operations of mine unnecessary? Could I either automate my response in each case, or, better, could I eliminate the issues altogether?

That appears to be the 64 bit version of windows 2003

none of the usual tools run on a 64 bit version

we can try this but I won't guarantee it will run

Download OTScanIt.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named OTScanIt on your desktop.

Close any open browsers.
If your Real protection or Antivirus intervenes with OTScanIt, allow it to run.
Open the OTScanit folder and double-click on OTScanit.exe to start the program.
Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
The program will be scanning huge amounts of data so depending on your system it could take a long time to complete. Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
Save that notepad file
If the log is too large to post, use the Reply button, scroll down to the attachments section and attach the notepad file here.

Please, I somehow have the C: drive locked when I am in administrator, at least when I try to open the C: it asks what program I want to open it. It also won't let me do things like change the folder view so that all hidden files are revealed or get into system files. It is the only administrator account on the system, and I can't figure out what else has control or how to change back whatever I originally must have done to get this way. There was some spyware that ad-aware took care of but I can't get this fixed. I can get into the folders on the C: drive through the "folders" setting on the toolbar but all is in read-only and I can't do anything to any folders or files.

Apologize for re-posting same issue but re-stating for clarification. The computer works fine with default VGA graphics (poor), but shuts down almost immediately when Intel HD 3000 graphics are used. All hardware tests pass including the system board but the component test for video palette check fails.  I assume that is the Intel graphics chip but I don't know if it can be repaired or replaced....or will anything else cause the described problem? I have an almost identitical issue with a Macbook Pro with Intel High Res Graphics. Works fine with low res graphics aps so I fear that it is an unresolvable Intel embed issue.

A:3 responses from previous question were well intended but no...

Hi bmelton, I took a look through your previous thread and it looks like you did get a failure ID from the diagnostics test. Looking through that it does look like there is a problem with the embedded GPU. The embedded GPU is located on your processor (which appears to be an i3-2330m). To resolve the issue the processor would need to be replaced. It looks like your system is out of warranty so the only repair options would be billable; I would recommend contacting HP Customer Support at +1 800 474 6836 and see what options are available. You would want to provide them with the following: Serial NumberProduct Number24-character Failure ID (RK4D7Q-5ST84B-MFPV4K-Q29G03) Based on the age of the system HP may not stock the parts anymore for the Pavilion G7-1260US - the Customer Support team would know for certain.

I am an HP Employee.

A:HTTP Malicious Toolkit Variant Activity 2 & HTTP SurfAccuracy Config Request

Hello, gunnersluver
Welcome to TSF

My name is Billy O'Neal and I will be helping you. (Billy or Bill is fine, if you like.)
Please give me some time to look over your computer's log(s).
Please take note of the following:In the meantime, please refrain from making any changes to your computer.
Also, even if things appear to be running better, there is no guarantee that everything is finished. Please continue to check this forum post in order to ensure we get your system completely clean. We do not want to clean you part-way up, only to have the system re-infect itself. :)
If you do not understand any step(s) provided, please do not hesitate to ask before continuing. I would much rather clarify instructions or explain them differently than have something important broken.
Finally, please reply using the button in the lower left hand corner of your screen.
Old topics are closed after 3 days with no reply, and working topics are closed after 5 days. If for any reason you cannot complete instructions within that time, that's fine, just put a post here so that I know you're still here. We get a lot of people who simply leave, and if there is no contact for that amount of time I will have to assume you have "vanished" .
We need to run a Scan with DDSPlease download DDS, and save it to your desktop, from one of the following mirrors:This is a mirror
This is another mirror

Disable any type of "Script Blockers" or "Script Protection" installed on your system.
Double click on your desktop.
If prompted by any script blocking tools, please allow any actions taken by DDS.
When prompted to preform an Optional Scan, please select
Two reports will open. Please reply with the generated reports:DDS.txt <-- Copy and paste into your next post
Attach.txt <-- Attach to your next post

We need to scan for Rootkits with GMERPlease download GMER from one of the following mirrors:This is the Primary mirror
This is a Secondary mirror
This is a Secondary mirror

Close any and all open programs, as this process may crash your computer.
Unzip the downloaded file to your desktop.
Double click on your desktop.
Allow the gmer.sys driver to load if asked.
You may see this window. If you do, click No.

Click on and wait for the scan to finish.
If you see a rootkit warning window, click OK.
Push and save the logfile to your desktop.
Copy and Paste the contents of that file in your next post.

In your next reply, please include the following:DDS.txt
Attach.txt
GMER's Log

i used to download subtitles from a website which saves it in .aspx file (looking like zipped folder file) and after extracting it used to work fine.
But yesterday, when i saved a file it got saved in .dat file. Thinking it will open in notepad (since .srt opens with notepad) i made it to 'OPEN WITH' notepad. But i was not able to view/use the file. Now when iam trying to download anyother sub from the same website it gets saved in notepad and will be of no use.
Do i need to install anything so that i can use the file? How do i make it so that the file gets saved in a zipped looking folder and i can use the subs.

Please help

A:Opening .ASPX files

Hello arin and welcome to Seven Forums.

I found this article about .aspx files. It may have some info that will help you.

ASPX File (What It Is & How To Open One)

You could also try one of the many free 3rd party tools that specialize in opening different file formats. This is one example:

Free File Opener | Opens all of your files | Free Download!

Or you could try changing the default program used to open the .aspx files.

Open With - Change Default Program

Hi, maybe everyone of you have a idea.
I have here a Application witch makes trouble on one Workstation with Internet Explorer 6 SP2 and XP SP2. This application works on other machines with the same Configuration. When I start the apsx Website in the Web browser and choose an Option in this Application, than happens nothing. After 10 minutes I can see a massage " The Website could not be find"
I tried to install .Net 2.0, IE 7.0, Firefox 2.0 and try a other Profile on the workstation but without success.
Have someone a idea, how I can fix it?

Regards
Newibo
