I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

So you can't get to the factory reset menu? Holding the power button will turn the tablet off right?

Thinking of making the big switch from years of AMD gaming rigs to INTEL.
Currently am using a crosshair v formula z mobo with an fx 8150 cpu, and was going for a maximus vii hero mobo with an i7 4790k cpu.

Is this a worthwhile upgrade?
Is the maximus mobo inferior to my formula v?
I know the intel cpu is vastly better than the amd, but would I see a big improvement in my gaming?
Would I be able to use my 16gb 1600mhz corsair vengeance ram?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hey! I've been debating on wether I should buy the Lenovo Y50-70 (59427681)
or the ASUS N551JM-CN095H .
I'm looking to buy today, so I'd appreciate quick replies
Main difference is that the Lenovo has Hybrid Memory with 8 GB SSD cache, but it only has 100 mb LAN network speed, compared to Asus' 1000 mb speed.

The price of the Lenovo : 903 USD
The price of the Asus : 967 USD

Here I will give you the link so you can compare these two against eachother. It's in norwegian, but it shouldn't be a problem

Until recently my laptop, an Asus Vivobook with an i5-processor, touchscreen and a 500 gig harddisk, worked just fine, no problems whatsoever. But when I started playing GuildWars 2 it developped a nervous 'tick'. Let me explain: of course the battery of my laptop doesn't last forever, so sometimes I have to plug it in while playing GW, and as soon as I do that the screen starts to black out randomly, as bad as sometimes every 3 seconds. It turns itself on again, and there's no loss of performance (at least not a noticeable one). It gets worse: when I stop playing it continues to flicker on and off. I know that it's not a heat problem, at least I don't think so. SpeedFan detects temperatures up to 67 degrees while playing, but that's it, my laptop should be able to handle that.

Can anyone help me?

A:Laptop problem Asus Vivobook Q301LA

...ok, here's an addendum to my post: at the moment the screen goes blank every time I plug in the charger, and the core temperature is around 51, 52 degrees, so in my humble opinion it's definitely not a heat issue.

Sold! As in.. I've been in the market for over a month to buy a gaming laptop and couldn't find one worth wasting money on.

I say this for two reasons:

1) GTX980M - this thing is a whole other beast to the 970M. Forget about the 960M altogether.
2) 1920 x 1080 - THANK F%^&ING GOD!! Stop offering me "gaming" laptops with 4k screens and GTX960M/970Ms that can't possibly drive them! A vast majority of gamers are still playing on 22 inch 1080 res desktop monitors and this thing is only 17". It sounds pretty having that 4K moniker in there.. but.. stop it already!

I recently got this amazing p monitor for my custom rig and I love it Well most of it There is this problem with the backlight where when the monitor turns on after a while of inactivity the backlight turns on Monitor Backlight ASUS an with Issue VK-248h for a split second Issue with an ASUS VK-248h Monitor Backlight then suddenly goes very dim Issue with an ASUS VK-248h Monitor Backlight The brightness setting Issue with an ASUS VK-248h Monitor Backlight is unchanged kept at a solid yet it s a quarter as bright as it should be I can go into the menu and change the brightness and I can tell faintly that it does adjust but never up to the proper level To remedy the issue I repeatedly turn the monitor off and on until the display finally lights up properly and it stays that way for the entire time I am using it At the start of the session in which I write this post I had to do this at least times before it worked so I finally decided to really look into this problem It seems this is a unique issue as I found absolutely no matching posts on the interwebs by searching with the all-mighty Google Search Is there anyone that can provide some insight as to why this occurs and or how to fix it Thanks for your time nbsp

A:Issue with an ASUS VK-248h Monitor Backlight

New theory: Bad capacitors... somewhere. Possibly power supply

After a day at work, observing some coworkers working on used LCD TVs (and working on one myself), I now understand quite a bit more about such things.

I had removed the display from my setup and left it on the floor for a few days. Today, I decided to try it again. The backlight started up perfectly fine, surprisingly. The ASUS screen showed for a couple seconds, then went off, as normal. Then, when it's supposed to activate the selected display input, it shows the screen for just long enough to get half a frame drawn, then goes completely black. Turning monitor off and on repeatedly, and trying different input methods, gave same result. I got it to work once, but at that time the backlight had gone too dim again.

I think now I might know how to fix it, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to take the dang thing apart! Lol.

I bought a new drive only to rip my dvd collection and I choose a fast on at 16x, but to my surprise and disappointment I see that the drive is riplocked. I did a lot of research to check that it wasnt in fact riplocked but it is unfortunately.

I have read a lot of articles and done a lot of research to try to find out how to remove this riplock and I found out that the asus drive is actually a rebranded pioneer drive (bdr-206) and that this firmware should do the job BDR-206_FW106EU (found at files.rpc1.org) but when im running it I get a DOS window saying that the firmware has started but right after im getting an error message saying "Available target not found". The drive is connected by using usb 3.0 and its external.

Its now ripping at 2.5x instead of 16x because of the riplock.
I would really appriciate any help on getting this drive to rip at 16x.

So I recently picked up this monitor for some sweet 144hz gaming. Used it for a while at 144hz and it worked perfectly. Recently hooked up a second monitor and noticed a drop in frames. Went to check my advanced resolution settings and for some reason my monitor had defaulted to 60hz. When I tried to bump it back to 144hz I get this weird flickering/artifacting going on but it works great at 120 hz. I am using the dvi cable that came with the monitor and I'm running a gtx970 overclocked to 1430hz gpu and 7600 hz memory. I get this effect when I default my gpu to it's factory oc settings so I'm not sure what's going on here. Is it my gpu or do I need a new dvi?

Let's do this one step at a time, first no part of any computer lasts for ever. U said u had 2 other video cards, first, see if either one of them will work. If that does not work, it could be the slot in the mother board, try an other X16 slot. but honestly to me it sounds like the mother board is not working if u have a speaker plugged into it and assuming the speaker is working because normally there would be beeps if the motherboard is not sending a video signal.

A:Asus N56VZ keeps turning off

Ok. I tried disabling graphics drivers. It seems that it worked fine. So I uninstalled them and after restart laptop installed by itself new drivers, so far so good. But not sure about updates, I guess I will skip graphics driver updates for some time...
Laptops' temperature got down too..

Hello,
I'm looking to build a relatively cheap gaming build. This will be my first build and I'm stuck between choosing either the maximus or the deluxe. Both are currently within my budget. I'm looking to mainly play starcraft, league, dota, hon and watch movies on this desktop. As I am not near a router, I cannot connect with ethernet so I need the onboard wifi. This is my current build: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/daherr/saved/VsKscf

Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying to keep the budget under 1k

Thanks

A:Asus maximus vi impact or z87i deluxe

Never had an Impact but on a formula right now and have had the Z87I deluxe I personally would say the Maximus is the better but I overclock my computers to the max and u can screw up any board doing that Processors are pretty forgiving if u do not burn it up and I say that get good cooling which is a requirement even for playing games if u live in a warm climate.
then I looked at u're part picker and would say get 16MGB of memory and get a hard drive for more storage, they are cheap.

Now turning my computer on ive got nothing .... Except a 'battery charging flicker', when releasing power button after holding it a long, long time!!!!! Sounds like this procedure corrupted the motherboards bios, and you may have a "paperweight" now for good. Did you re-install the "round" Bios button battery?

First of all hello from a new user, I have a problem with my computer but I need help to nail it down to one part (I think it's the graphics card, but who am I to tell).
A friend of mine said people over here are very nice and competent so why not try to get help here.

Long story short, I played a game, Velvet Assassin, that is rather buggy (I.e. it didn't let me change the resolution to my native 1680x1050).
After some time the screen started flickering in complete white with some color bars here and there. I thought it was another bug on newer systems and changed the resolution; the problem seemed resolved.

Until my little brother started to play Forge of Empires, that little browser game, where the problem again occured at an even faster rate.

I hope you can help me, I made a short video of the issue, I know it's not of best quality, but maybe it helps.
Thank you in advance

Asus VS247H-P or AOC IPS i2367Fh? m not too tech-savvy so I could be wrong ASUS pros - slightly bigger inch - has a lot more reviews and slightly higher rating on amazon and suggested by many on the internet as a good low-budget monitor neutral - has an overall better look than AOC - ms response time not a big deal to me - I ve heard of good and bad things about the costumer service - mixed reviews about color quality cons - many complaints about defective pixels and apparently Asus does not cover them - many complaints about flimsy wobbly stand - some complaints about the monitor Which monitor should I buy? Asus VS247H-P or AOC IPS i2367Fh? having various types of screen Which monitor should I buy? Asus VS247H-P or AOC IPS i2367Fh? defects after some time - not an IPS panel - no integrated speakers AOC pros - IPS panel better image - slightly cheaper at the moment neutral - ms response time not a big deal to me - I know it isn t bezel-less I m not looking for a dual monitor setup so it doesn t matter to me however the black border does look a bit awkward - some people complain about the buttons being in an awkward place but that doesn t seem like a problem - the integrated speakers aren t that good - no VESA mount but it doesn t matter because I don t want one cons - there are some complaints about the stand being wobbly or uneven but not as much as ASUS - some complaints about half of the screen turning pink purple a bit worrisome since there are a number of people who had this problem - I have never heard of the AOC brand until my friend brought it up therefore I don t know the quality of their products or their costumer service As for me I m not a hardcore gamer but I do play a lot of games I don t know the color quality comparison of these two but I feel like the image quality is more important than the response time The many complaints about the Asus monitor gives me a lot of doubts whether to buy it or not despite its popularity but it seems like there have been no recent complaints perhaps because Asus got their together now But on the other hand I have not heard much about the AOC monitor so I m also unsure Any help would be very much appreciated an alternative would be fine too if it s in the price range nbsp

A:Which monitor should I buy? Asus VS247H-P or AOC IPS i2367Fh?

You outlined the pros and cons well . This is my opinion: go with the AOC since it has an IPS display (better colors), small bezels (allows for a better multi-monitor experience), is IPS + LED (the ASUS is only LED) and it has 2 HDMI inputs (vs 1 on the ASUS). The average reviews may be higher for the ASUS but the AOC seems like a more attractive option overall. This is just my opinion .

I've been having a rather irritating problem with my NVIDIA graphics card. Ever since I installed the card, it has been outputting sound through the card instead of through my onboard audio. Since I do not want to purchase an HDMI to DVI cable to play sound through my monitor, I was wondering how to redirect the audio to play through my motherboard so I can hear sound again. I have tried resetting BIOS settings, reinstalling all drivers for sound card, motherboard, and gpu, and I have poked around 100's of forums, and tried everything. I'm even considering buying a different brand of card because this stupid thing has created so many problems.

Right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar. Select playback devices and see if you have an option other than HDMI. I have 4 HDMI ports in addition to Speakers and "Speakers" is the default device on my machine.

Hey,
I need a new headset and I am thinking of buying one of these 3: the Sennheiser 350SE, Beyerdynamic dt770 pro or the audio technika ATH-A700X. I am leaning towards the dt 770 pro, but I'm still unsure. The main problem is my Xonar DX which doesn't have built-in amp. The dt 770 requires 80 ohm or 250 ohm and the 350 se requires 150 ohm. So my question is: Can these headsets provide great quality with the no amp Xonar or do I need to buy a separate amp with it for max quality? Also, will the separate amp completely ignore the Xonar?
Thanks for the help.

Cheers,

P.S: I am open for suggestion of other headsets in the same price range (?150/ $200)

I wanted to get more RAM for my older PC (CPU Q8400 on Asus P5P43TD PRO). The motherboards' specs say it works with 1600Mhz RAM so I bought 8GB of Kingston HyperX Blu (Kit 2x4GB), code KHX1600C9D3B1K2/8GX.

I already have the latest version of BIOS but it doesn't POST for the life of me (fans are working, black screen, no beeps). I tried inserting only one stick (tried all 4 slots). I tried both sticks in slots 1 and 3, both sticks in slots 2 and 4, still no luck.

When I put back my old RAM (2x2048 Kingston Value RAM) it works just fine. Everything in BIOS is set to AUTO. I tried increasing the RAM voltage to 1.65v as specified on the new sticks without success.

I'm sure the memory is fine but I just can't get it to work. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

A:Asus P5P43TD PRO doesn't POST with new HyperX 1600 RAM

You may need a BIOS update. CPU and Memory compatibility updates are common BIOS updates. Before you give up on the RAM modules, try updating your BIOS.

ASUS Support For P5P43TD PRO

Caution though, follow the instruction carefully. The updating can not be interrupted once started. It only takes a few minutes to complete, but any interruption can brick the motherboard if it is not equipped with a backup BIOS.

I just recently bought a motherboard I thought was completely dead (same symptoms as your board, no post). I never suspected the motherboard wouldn't recognize my i7 CPU. The tech guy had me use an i3 to flash the BIOS. Low and behold the BIOS update worked.

I've been working on this webcam issue of mine for about the past five hours now. I've literally gone through, deleted off Lifeframe, Virtual Camera, Smart Logon, downloaded the drivers and keep getting an error "USB2.0 UVC VGA/1.3m/2.0M WebCam" every time I try running any of the drivers for it. I'm frustrated because I just installed a new one thinking my old one was perhaps defective. I've checked BIOS and haven't seen anything in reference to webcam, there's no imaging devices section in my Device Manager and I'm just completely confused as to what the heck is wrong.

Hi;
I have this drive installed on my system. When I try to open the drive door (either by pressing the button on the drive, or clicking Eject in Explorer, the first time I do this, the door rarely opens. It makes two thumps, about 3 seconds apart, then nothing. When I press the button a second time, the drawer slides out without any problem.
This problem always occurs on the first attempt after the system has been powered up, or when I haven't accessed the drive for an hour or more. The problem never occurs when there is a disc in the drive.

I had the cover off the drive, and found that when the cover is off, the problem rarely occurs, but I am unable to find anything causing the trouble. The drive worked fine for several years before this began to happen.
In all other respects, the drive works perfectly.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello!

I have a 27 inch LED monitor which I bought for less then a year ago, I have always been playing at 1920x1080 on it with my laptop , it is the highest available option,

I have lately been wondering if there is any way to check if it can support 2,560x1,440?

I don't have the packaging or name of the model left so I have been unable to check this that way,

I assume since the 2,560x1,440 isn't available in the graphic options that means it max supports 1920x1080?

I can imagine a 2,560x1,440 monitor is quite expensive? any models you can recommend for a fair price?

Thanks!

Yes, the monitor will not support 2560x1440p if its highest output is shows to be 1080p, you have to specifically buy a monitor like this one that supports 2560 resolution.

OK, I know it's weird, but I need to run 32-bit XP SP3 on this board. Anyone know for sure if it will? Asus specs don't list XP but drivers seem abundant for it.

Thanks for any help !!!

A:Asus P9X79-E WS and 32-bit XP SP3 - Will They Work?

I can't make any promises, but I'd be highly inclined to think it would probably work, just from the fact that ASUS listed drivers on their website for Windows XP; if the board wasn't supported, wouldn't they simply not allow you to choose it as an OS selection when downloading drivers? Maybe when they omit XP from the supported OSs list, it's only because it's not fully supported, in terms of long-term updates, even though the OS works. Again this is just speculation, but I don't see a good reason why it wouldn't work.

You don't have anything very demanding, a 300W would likely work. But if you are buying anyway, might as well go ahead and get something better. What brand was you looking at getting? The guys here can help with selecting a good brand.

I need forum recommendations on good reliable memory sticks, 4x4 GB or 8x2 GB (don't sure which is better). Mostly PC will be using for games and some audio recording.
Don't know which clock 1866 or 2400 (O.C.) for motherboard will be better.
Can somebody share his experience with me?

Thank you!

A:Memory advice for Asus Sabertooth X79 & I-7 3930

First, you should know that X79 is the first (and only) consumer platform with a quad channel memory controller. That means for maximum memory performance you must use at least 4 DIMMs, populating channels A, B, C, and D.
The Sabertooth X79 originally supported up to only 1866 MHz, but I see the QVL lists kits up to 2400. http://support.asus.com/QVL.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&m=SABERTOOTH X79&hashedid=RPOIwd0pKLoXnbFV
If you buy a kit on this list, it has already been tested to work with your board, at least at stock CPU speeds. If you overclock your CPU (and you should with that unlocked processor), some of the higher speed RAM may not boot. I believe you'll be safe buying a 2133 kit, even one that's not on the QVL. I'm running Kingston HyperX Beast 2400 in my Asus P8Z77-V & i5-3570K system with great results, and it's not on my QVL. If you do go for the 2400, you should pick one of the 4x4GB kits from your QVL for assured compatibility. If all those are hard to find (or too expensive), roll the dice and get the kit you want, but make sure it's a name brand like Corsair, Adata, G.Skill, Patriot, Kingston HyperX, Crucial, etc., as they have reputations to preserve and do lots of testing on all platforms.

A strange problem indeed.

Triple check your wiring is correct using your motherboard manual. Be sure the motherboard is mounted correctly on the standoffs and no grounds are occurring.

Faulty buttons on the case itself?

Reset bios to optimal defaults, clear cmos.

After that I would return the mobo.

Sorry I cant be more specific, Hope this helps.

My Motherboard is Asus P5S800-VM.

I want to know Which Graphic Card is Compatible for my motherboard.

A:Which graphics card is compatible with ASUS P5S800-VM

Unfortunately, that motherboard only has an AGP slot, so your videocard upgrade will be very limited.

Here is one of the cheaper units for AGP, but you must also ensure your case has adequate cooling (at least one case fan aside from the power supply fan is recommended) and also ensure you have a fairly beefy power supply (350 Watt or greater, 400W+ preferred).

Neither, I don't think it's wise to spend $350+ on what is now a legacy socket for a few extra Mhz. If you really need the extra CPU power you should save up for Ivy Bridge E (or get a 3770K), and if you're just gaming the 3570K at 4.2Ghz is more than enough.

I have one that when it boots up it has bad internal battery backup issue. ASUS had this for LED/LCD panel issue I found out. Got them to repair it for free.

Your issue sounds like MOBO is faulty. How long have you had this model. If you can you should send it back to ASUS and let them repair it. Otherwise you seem to tried everything which is the common steps to take is the battery take out. Rest it and etc..

Prior to all these issues what were you doing when it worked 100%?

Same as topic. Wondering if the Hero was worth the extra 50 bucks or so in terms of reliability, features, etc. Reliability is a big factor for me so if you think Hero is a bit more stable for the extra 50$ then please let me know. Thank you!

P.s. In case you were wondering I am building a gaming/video editing pc for around 1500 bucks

A:Asus Maximus VI Hero or Asus Z87-A LGA 1150

The Maximus VI Hero is no more stable than the Z87-A. The Maximus is more gamer oriented due to its overclocking features (which the Z87-A has, but not to that extent). If you can get a Z87 Sabertooth, that is probably the best in terms of reliability because it protects the components from dust.

A:Asus anti-surge is triggered to protect computer from unstable power supply

SURGE is normally associated with an increase in line voltage and that can be deadly to the PS and other components.

A DROP-OUT is when A/C voltage goes below minimum and this can effect the system too.

If power is poorly regulated (ie it fluctuates periodically), I would get a UPS to condition the power better. I have two: one for the computer equipment and another for my large LED tv.

You can get a cheap multi-meter to measure and monitor the voltage visually and then when you get the error, glance to confirm - - is it hi or low?

Personally, with only 400w PSU and your gaming environment, I would suspect you are stressing the PSU to its limit when gaming.

A:Asus laptop selectively refuses to un-hibernate

Cool boot the system and login as admin.
The hibernation file is in the root dir as \hiberfile.sys

Go to the root dir and delete hiberfile.sys

I live on my portable and use hiberation every day and it avoids a cold reboot.
Hibernation writes the system memory into hiberfile.sys, updates the boot pointer and shuts down to save battery power. Upon opening the lid (or depending upon the vendor, hitting the power on), the system reboots quickly exactly where you left off - - including running programs and even edits using MS Word or Excel.

Sleep is a variation, but keeps the system memory alive and thus will drain the battery given enough time.

Use Control Panel->Power to set the actions of closing the lid a {Sleep | Hibernate}

A:Upgrading Asus K50IN processor

The "for Intel mobile 45 chipset only..." notification is so that a potential buyer is aware that just because the CPU is Intel and socket is Intel doesn't mean the CPU is automatically compatible.

Notebook CPU upgrades are largely a hit-and-miss affair. In addition to the chipset and socket compatibility, you have to deal with a custom BIOS particular to the machine. You might want to check out >>this K50IN CPU upgrade thread<< Both the 9700 and 9900 are 1066MHz FSB (QDR), so theoretically there is little between them. Before swapping out make sure that the BIOS is updated (see the link in the last post in the thread).

Good luck.

So far I have overclocked my FX-6100 to 4.0 Ghz by changing the multiplier and bus speed. I have not touched voltages. My memory is pretty slow 1333, but I have tried it at 1600 and it worked fine. Currently I have memory running at just 1400. It's all on stock cooling, for now.
Here is cpu-z validation:http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2526384
and a screenshot of me running stress test with Aida64.

I am actually running the stress test as I am writing this. Been nearly 27 minutes and the temp still has not gotten past 58 degrees.
I am interested in knowing how people do their o/c on that specific mobo. Voltage changes/ FSB changes and so on.
Thanks.Click to expand...

Hey I have the Asus M5A97 R2.0 also. There is an easy and quick way to overclock. You can just use AI Suite II. It's very easy and works very well... I have my AMD 956 BE overclocked to 3.9G with stock CPU cooler and even under stress it never goes above 58 deg. Just thought you might like to give that a try.

Cheers,
TwH

A:Is it possible to run game at 1920*1080 resolution in 18.5-inch LED monitor

Mate, the difference between a 18 inch monitor and a 21 inch monitor, is quite literally, 3 inches. What resolution a monitor will support is not the same as how big it is.

You cannot run 1920x1080 on that monitor, because your monitor only supports 1366x768, it has nothing to do with your pc configuration.

Hi, I've been trying to oc my CPU on this mobo with no luck at all. since the multiplier is locked im playing with the bus speed and the vcore. The mobo has an auto oc utility it got my cpu to 3.3 but it takes down the dram freq to ~900 (why? idk) and sets vcore to 1.425 I think other stuff are the same. 3.3 isnt bad at all but why take down my ddr3 1600 to ~900??

specs:
Mobo: ASUS M5A88-M
CPU: AMD Athlon II x2 240 @ 2.8Ghz (stock)
Memory: 2x4GB kingston hyperX blu Red DDR3 1600 CL9 6-6-6-18
PSU: HEC Raptor 500w
Video Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD6670 1GB GDDR5
Cooler: CoolerMaster TX3

PS: Memory Currently running on 1333 not 1600

Hey, I have ASUS K53U
6gb RAM
2gb VideoRam AMD Radeon HD6320
AMD E-450 Processor ~1.6 (2 CPUs)
and no AV

My problem is that my computer is so slow :S. I'm running w7 about 4 days, before I had w8, but I thought that w8 is problem what takes much cpu. But w7 is same slow, I can't even play NBA 2k13 normal fps, what should I do? I close all unnessessary apps in task manager but it still hanging. Please help.

And I'm using old windows theme, my search is disabled etc.

A:Poor Windows and gaming performance on Asus K53U

That's not a gaming laptop, by any stretch of the definition.

If you want to play games, here are some options:
- Turn down all graphics settings on games to minimum, and use 800 x 600 resolution. Pray that works.
- Go back to the store you got it from and see if you can return it as store credit to buy a more expensive machine.

Which one will be better, Asus gtx 660 or zotac gtx 660??
Considering the prices are equal

A:Asus vs Zotac when buying GTX 660?

Does both offer the same cooling options as well? What about speed?
Sometimes manufactures will slightly overclock their cards. While some will offer better cooling. If all is the exact same for each card. Then, I would say neither is better then the other.

im getting a gaming computer soon, and I dont want to use much money on my monitor, I my plan was to use it on my TV, but my friends say that unless you have a really powerful computer, it will lag the PC to pieces. so I was wondering if my computer could handle my 46 inch samsung plasma TV?

specs:
motherboard: asus P8Z77-V pro Z77 S-1155 ATX IVY
procesor: intel core i7 3770K 3,5hz 8mb s-1155 IVY
graphics card: asus geforce gtx 570 directcu II 1280mb pci-e dvi/hdmi
harddrive: seagate barracuda 2TB 7200rpm sata/600 64mb
powersupply: corsair hx 750w atx12v 2.2 / eps12v
RAM: corsair 8gb ddr3 vengeance l pc3.12800 1600mpz cl9 (2X4GB)

A:Using my 46-inch television as a monitor?

It is possible that the TV could introduce a bit of latency, depending on the system and type of interface, but perhaps not, so I reckon there's nothing to lose by just trying it, and if it's pants, then start saving for a monitor!

I installed an external webcam to watch the deer in my back yard. My interal cam is now picking up the feed from the external one. So far, the only way I have found to fix that problem is yo unplug the external cam. Is there a way around this?

A:Asus all-in-one internal webcam

The internal camera is showing me what the external one is seeing. I want to keep both cams and use which ever one I want, depending on the situation.

I will try and explain it better. My external cam is looking at my back yard. My internal cam, the one built into the pc, is looking at me. I should see my back yard when I activate the exteral cam, and I should see me when I activate the interal cam. What I am getting when I activate the internal cam, is my back yard. The internal is instead, picking up what the external cam is seeing, which is my back yard.

A:Asus U56E laptop

Yep, from the little bit of reading I did, it seems like the issue could be a power issue at the motherboard, but we're not even close to saying it's time to return the laptop for service yet. I wanted to first wanted to see if the computer was overheating. If the computer turns off and then when immediately turned back on it won't stay on for more than a minute or so then it could be overheating. There could be memory or even hard drive issues, but the OP seems to have eliminated that with their first post.

Here is a deal for only $20. - Intel Pentium 4 3.2GHz 800MHz 512KB Socket 478 CPU

Personally, I wouldn't bother if a P4 is all that would go in the system.

Hi

What's the recommended procedure of overclocking the graphics card?
Anything else that can go horribly wrong except overheating and noticing artifacts?
Any good software for testing that include 3D animations to detect artifacts?
Been think about OCCT or MSI Kombustor maybe.

Regards

As I can't seem to find a docking station made specifically for my new Asus N53S laptop, I am looking for recommendations on a universal docking station (with video output). There are several choices out there, but they all seem to get mixed reviews for performance or installation. Can anyone suggest a particular make/model that works well. Any Asus owners out there with a universal docking station that does the job? Any info and/or recommendations would be welcome!

A:Looking for a good Asus laptop docking station

The Kensington universal notebook docking station is compatible with Asus, and all major brands in fact, I'd check that out...

There's a review of an admittedly slightly older version (from 2009) here, but it wins a best buy award and gets a very good write-up.

Certainly well worth considering. Hope that helps somewhat...
