I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Since Bluetooth is a wireless communications medium (just like Wi-Fi), it doesn't require a license. However, something you are doing does. What exactly are your trying to do?

Having installed software. When clicking the blue/red blue blootooth icon in the tray. Says, bluetooth device not found. (Trying to connect to LG Viewty phone.) Plus, get message, bluetooth software license file not found. Clicking on OK, Another box opens, where I click on the highlited word, license. That is as far as I get.
I understand that windows download thier own drivers, that overide all others.
Have repeated the process numerous times, with the same results.
I am a complete novice. So would appreciate any answers being as simple to understand as is possible.
Thanks for any assistance. It is driving me insane.

Hello Jeff Lewin

Try this
Don't plug in the Bluetooth device.

If you have any Bluetooth software apart from the included Windows drivers installed, uninstall them and reboot. I am not sure if this is necessary, but just in case.

Install the Bluetooth software. When it asks you to plug in the Bluetooth device and click OK, don't, and click cancel instead.

When the setup has finished, plug in your Bluetooth device and let Windows install the driver. (There should be two Bluetooth icons in the system tray; one blue-white: this is the Windows driver - and one blue-red: this is the driver which is deactivated.)

Now go to the Device Manager, right click on the "Generic Bluetooth Radio" and select "update driver". Don't let Windows XP connect to the internet, then select "Choose software from a list or specified location". In the next window, select "Don't search, but select the driver to install".

In the next window, activate "Show compatible hardware" (if it isn't activated already) and select your manufacturer's driver instead of the "Generic Bluetooth Radio" driver.

Click next until the new driver is installed. Now the system tray icon should be blue-white as well, activated and ready to use.

If you now double click on "My Bluetooth Places" (e.g. on the desktop), the software installation will be continued and finished.

My HP Pavilion desktop shows the following error on startup :

Bluetooth Software license file not found. [2]

I looked up for a similar thread, but it did not help me solve the problem.

Also, on startup, I get a PCA error message of a driver being blocked due to compatibility issues:

Driver : StarForce Protection
Publisher : StarForce

I dont even know what is this driver used for. Is there any way to disable PCA error messages? or how to get rid of this driver ?

A:Bluetooth software license file not found [2]

Licence data has most likely been removed in error from the Registry, possibly by using a registry cleaner utility.
Re-installing the bluetooth driver for that device should fix the licence error. You can download the correct bluetooth driver from your country's HP website.

I made a restore for the computer but no result . Please help

A:Bluetooth software license file not found

This is why you shouldn't use registry cleaners. Most, if not all, will remove more entries then they are supposed to. You don't need to bother with them. Windows is not slowed down by old entries and each one takes up maybe half of a kilobyte. I would remove the bluetooth software, then reinstall it. That will more than likely solve your problem, and don't use that registry cleaner again.

Hi guys,

I have an HP Compaq 6715b running Windows Vista Business. on startup I keep getting this bluetooth error message:

"Bluetooth Software license file not found. [2]"

The title of the error window is "Bluetooth software"

The only thing I use the blue tooth for is transferring files and photos, and that seems stillto be working fine, but this error message is annoying. Any ideas guys?

In case it's of use, in Device Manager/Bluetooth Radios I have listed the following:

HP Bluetooth Module
Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator

Both of which are up-to-date drivers.

Also of note, the machine has recently had the Trojan.Vundo Virus. A combination of AV, AS and reg-cleaners sorted that out. This caused a few startup error messages, but this is the only one I can't solve.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance.

I have read a lot about problems on W7 with Bluetooth, but none of the solutions seem to apply to me. When I doubleclick on the Bluetooth icon in the taskbar the Bluetooth Devices window comes up, the green bar loads to 99% and nothing happens, even though I have 2 turned on Bluetooth devices near the dongle. I have also tried using the software (BlueSoleil) that came with the dongle, but that doesnt work either.
All the devices in the device manager are installed correctly (no unknown devices). I am using W7 Premium.

The first device is your WIreless Lan Adapter. Are you hard wired to the modem/router with Ethernet?
The second device is probably your Bluetooth. Go here to get the driver.
Right click each device with the yellow exclamation mark. Select Properties. Under the details tab, select Hardware ID's in the dropdown box. Copy and Paste the first line from each device in your next post.

First off stop panicking, if it was there before then odds on it will still be there somewhere, take a deep breath and check the following,

Go into the BIOS and check that the Bluetooth function is enabled, to enter the BIOS look at the start up screen as your PC comes to life for a message such as "press ... to enter BIOS/Setup.

Go to dells website here, put in your service tag and check for any drivers related to Bluetooth, if there is any download them and install them, but check the above first, there is no point installing a driver if the device is disabled.

Post back and let us know, oh and the model of the laptop is a good idea.

How do i turn on my bluetooth? or how do i activate it?

Is the driver is made for Windows 7 and Have you right clicked on the driver file and ran it as an administrator? I would try that first.

If that doesn't work, go to device manager and see how many devices there are with no driver for them, they should be called "unidentified devices" or something similar.

Then try Windows updates if you have not yet, and get it fully updated.

I'll come back to see how it's going.

This is my problem:

I run windows 7 home 64 bit.
I have bought a 3.0 bluetooth keyboard. it says: works with apple windows. Next I bought a bluetooth radiodevice (that tiny usb 2.0-thing)

I plugged in the usb-BT-device. Automatically windows started installing the drivers. successful. and it flashes a light every now and then.

I put in new batteries in the keyboard. pressed the connect button 5 seconds. The keyboard is flashing a blue light.

I went to 'services' to check that bluetooth is enabled. True.

Nothing happens now.
I went to 'add a bluetooth device' under hardware, and it is still busy searching, but nothing happens.

All this I have repeated several times in different orders, but no changes.

Can anyone help me out. What am I missing here? or is something just broke when I bought it. All are new, not second hand.

Thank you.

A:bluetooth software licence not found????

If you've downloaded and installed and run Registry Repair Pro and allowed it to "clean" or "fix" whatever it found, you've possibly damaged the Windows operating system and broken some of your programs.

Never ever use cleaner/booster/optimizer/tuneup type programs(especially the ones that access the registry), no matter what they claim they can do.
They do little-to-nothing to improve speed, and in some cases can actually reduce speed.
And if the damage they cause is severe enough, your only option is to reinstall Windows.

Go into System Restore and attempt to revert your computer back to a time and date PRIOR to when you installed and used it.

Go to search
device manager
in device manager look for yellow warning markers showing problems
If no problems, go to BT and make sure driver is up to date.

How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- - if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.
- The most common drivers are listed on this page:

Both devices paired successfully though.
I was able to btooth a file to my phone and playback music from my phone with my laptop as the audio device/speaker.

Despite the seemingly successful pairing (I'm confused why they appear to work), what can be done to get rid of the errors? I have tried automatic driver detection/installation via Windows Update to no avail.

Do you see the Bluetooth recognized on the "Windows Device Manager"?
Since you booted Linux and bluetooth is working I don't think it may be a hardware issue like you said.
Just in case did you updated the BIOS from the support site of your model ? There are some updated on the BIOS related to Window 10 compatibility.
I'm not sure which Bluetooth device you have on it. Is it the one from Intel. Maybe you can an updated driver on the Intel site, or sometimes I use DriverEasy (not from Lenovo) to help me find a newer driver on their database.
I hope this helps in something.

A:Bluetooth device not found once Vista reset to factory settings?

Prior to resetiing? You mean you used the options to restore to factory condition? Then you almost certainly just need to re-install the driver for the blue-tooth device. Read the manual, or the website support for the laptop, where you will also find the necessary driver if you cant find it on the HDD or CD's that came with the PC

I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, the license is still showing as expired.

So I did some searching for a way to fix this problem but I believe that my problem is different than the Bluetooth Peripheral Device problem that most people have.

I am NOT trying to connect a cell phone to my laptop. I am not trying to connect anything I don't think (unless my bluetooth mouse counts?).

I have no idea what a Bluetooth Peripheral Device is. I took some screenshots of the messages I receive every time a wake my computer up or turn it on. (1st, smaller picture)

It tries to update a driver but always fails and gives me this. (2nd, larger picture)

The suggestion my laptop gives me is this

There may be an easy solution to this, but I feel really lost right now.

now i have had blue tooth dongles installed working while using 2.4 GHz band before with no issues, so i don't get the issue now.

So i spent the entire day trying to figure out why my Bluetooth installed fine but after one restart it disappeared and it wouldn't come back. I finally figured it out that the FN+F2 (wireless/bluetooth switches) is what enables/disabled it HAHAHAHAHA.

first time: WiFi on / BT ON yay~!
second time: WiFi off / BT on
third time: WiFi off / BT off

and repeat.

I hope this helps people with their bluetooth issues =)

In windows 10 mobile, I can go into my bluetooth devices, and 'disconnect' a specific device. In Windows 10, I can only 'remove' the device (which I don't want to do) or turn off BlueTooth altogether.
Does anybody know a way to just disconnect a device? For instance, I want to have my headphones connect to my phone instead of the PC.

A:How to disconnect a bluetooth device without turning off bluetooth.

'Remove device' is probably not the best choice of words they could have used on this! When you close the process (i.e. 'disconnect' your headphones) on your PC, you are performing the same function as what you describe on your phone. You are not actually removing the device, just closing the process. I hope that makes sense!

A:Bluetooth does not Recognize/Pair/See Bluetooth Hardware

Probably Windows 10 replaced the original Bluetooth driver with Microsoft driver which doesn't work well, if at all. Go to manufacturer's site and download the Bluetooth driver. If there is no Windows 10 driver, use that of 8.1 This should fix your connectivity problems.

You need to give the exact model number for your ASUS.

But have you checked the ASUS website for the bt driver for your model.

Hello I have an issue with my Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter Bluetooth LIT Adapter's USB Is Bluetooth OFF? Light IS When Blue - Version Class Smart Ready Adapter Model No MUA-BA Let me explain Okay I have setup my Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter with the drivers for my Windows operating system USB Bluetooth Adapter's Blue Light IS LIT When Bluetooth Is OFF? Now when I plug this USB Bluetooth adapter into my USB port connector on my desktop computer it automatically lights up with a blue light on the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter itself and on my Windows system tray notification area I get the Bluetooth icon displayed as ON Then I go ahead and pair the computer and my device s example a Smartphone to connect which they do successfully When I am done using the Bluetooth technology I disconnect the Bluetooth connection from each device and then instead of leaving your USB Bluetooth adapter ON with my Windows operating system I go into my Windows system tray notification area and select Turn Adapter OFF I then get the red Bluetooth icon in my Windows system tray notification area demonstrating that my Bluetooth is indeed OFF and the Bluetooth blue light on the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter goes OFF or is not lit any longer Okay so far so good everything is normal However when I shutdown my Windows operating system and then restart the computer at some later point I notice that the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter still shows on my Windows system tray notification area as OFF okay normal BUT THE BLUE LIGHT ON THE MEDIA LINK USB BLUETOOTH ADAPTER IS NOW ON The only way I can turn off the blue light on the USB Bluetooth adapter is to manually go through the Windows system tray notification area turn ON the Bluetooth technology and then promptly turn back OFF the Bluetooth technology in order for the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter s blue light to go OFF again I find this to be a real pain and chore each time to have to go through these manual steps to turn OFF that Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter s blue light when the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter s blue light SHOULD BE OFF TO BEGIN WITH I would assume after the system re- start and leaving the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter plugged into the USB port connector on my desktop computer if the Bluetooth technology is indeed OFF as set with the Windows operating system settings then the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter s blue light should be OFF as well BUT IT IS NOT I have no intention of consistently plugging in and out the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter when I plan on using it or not but instead leaving the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter always plugged into the my USB port connector on my desktop computer at all times and using the Windows system tray notification area s Bluetooth icon to turn ON and OFF the Bluetooth technology when needed I have contacted Medialink Mediabridge and they have informed me the rationale for this issue quot The only reason the light would be lit is if the bus power from that USB port was running I they looked for ways to manage the bus power settings of the USB host but was unable to find anywhere in the Control Panel that would allow you to adjust that particular setting quot Makes perfect sense to me that the bus power for the USB port is ALWAYS RUNNING and the computer starts the USB ports are powered and therefore the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter is always lit at system start until I turn off the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter via Window 's system tray notification area Specifically the Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapter is connected to one of the USB ports on the front of my desktop computer The front desktop USB port connects to one of the USB pin connectors on my ASUS P Q motherboard Further I have an OLDER ASUS P Q motherboard that does NOT support Bluetooth as part of its BIOS settings -- PRE-Bluetooth capability Therefore I installed the software on my Windows Professional -bit and drivers that came with my Medialink USB Bluetooth Adapt... A:USB Bluetooth Adapter's Blue Light IS LIT When Bluetooth Is OFF?

Hi, can you give a 20 word or less problem summary please, I got lost in those wordy details.

I am no BT expert or anything, but all I read was complaining about a light being on, which a piece of black electrical tape fixes around my house, regularly *cough* fire alarms.

If the maker of the device doesn't have a solve to your issue... that is usually the end of the road with a cliff.

I recently purchased these 2 items. Hoping for a headset for my phone and my pc. - Kinivo BTH220 Black Bluetooth Stereo Headphone – Supports Wireless Music Streaming and Hands-Free Ca - Mini Bluetooth USB 2.0 Micro Adapter Dongle

It worked perfect with my Andriod, but the Dongle does not seem to want connect with the headset. It seems the Dongle was not made to work with Windows 7 64bit. The bluetooth dongle will recognize the headset when I try to sync them, but will not actually let them connect for any audio. Here's a pic of the error.

I've tried reconnecting it multiple times. Been searching online for the past few hours for drivers and programs to get it to work, but no such luck. Any help will be appreciated.

hi, my laptop had Windows 8.1 Pre installed to i installed Windows 8.1 Pro on it .. before upgrading, naturally all is working well, i backed up my Drivers using an Open Source Software i downloaded from SourceForge

after upgrading, i installed all drivers, all is working well except for my Bluetooth Radio .. though in the Device Manager, it is not showing any error as it says "The device is working properly" .. yet even when my Laptop's Bluetooth is in Discoverable Mode, none of my Phone, Tablet nor other Laptops can detect this Laptop .. Vice Versa, my laptop doesnt discover any devices too, not even my Bluetooth Mouse .. though my Phone was discovering my Mouse ..

i tried updating my drivers, but there was no luck ..
i tried reinstalling my drivers, there was also no luck ..
i tried resetting multiple times, still no luck ..

im running out of luck, please i hope someone knows anything about it

A:Bluetooth not working ive done everything Generic bluetooth

When I tried the bluesoliel software,it disabled the native bluetooth
service in 7 and did not reenable it when it was uninstalled.
Try this.........
1. Click Start and type services in the Search programs and files text area

2. Click Services in the Programs list that appears

3. From the Services window, browse the list of services and find the Bluetooth Support Service

4. Double-click Bluetooth Support Service

5. Select Automatic from the Startup type and then click OK

6. Close the Services window and unplug and re-plug the USB device

I am having difficulty to get my laptop paired with a Bluetooth enabled cell phone. If I attempt to connect from the cell phone to my pc, a key code is asked for and needs be entered.

My question is how I can get this key code which needs be entered on the Bluetooth Device. On the laptop I navigated from Control Panel and to Bluetooth Devices, then clicked Add Wireless Device, but no device is detected even though the Bluetooth on the cell phone was turned on. Device Manager indicates drivers for the Bluetooth device are installed correctly.
