I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.
I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.
You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)
I asked for the same problem in this forum but my threat was deleted with the suggestion to read the Forum FAQs.
I read them but I didn't find why they did it. So I want repeat the question adding it to the yours one:
HP CompaQ nx9005
hash code [ 15656]
I need the system password
I wrote and I just wrote again at the hp forum about it whitout any help, and the hp chat doesn't start because of a bag (I'm not the only one having this problem).
I read all messages of the reference topic about the same problem (as suggested) but I didn't find my needs.
I think I will have to ask about it a lot of time. Hope to find someone who can help me.

I have a Dell Latitude D630. It has an admin password for the bios. Nothing is locked except for the settings. I can't change any of the settings in the bios. It lets me boot to windows just fine though. My question is, since I don't know that admin password for the bios, if I upgrade the bios firmware, will the admin password be deleted? Since I'm flashing the bios, I would think that all the settings will be lost. Is that the case?
Didn't you reply here, and say it worked (after the unusual 9th try ) http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic109612-109.html#post747024

Right before this problem happened, I had suddenly experienced a weird screen glitch and knew to restart my computer. Now, it asks for a BIOS admin or power on password which I did not set. How remove password BIOS(Admin password & canfigure setup),
Turn off computer. Find the battery on the motherboard. Take it out for a couple minutes. Put it back in and restart computer. This should reset cmos and solve your problem.
Call me a dunce....but I have a problem. I locked myself out of my administrator account and I can't go into safe mode because I also forgot my BIOS password. I really don't want to have to open up my computer and remove the BIOS, is there any other solutions that don't involve turning off my computer?

I have entered the password and get OK.
And then I am in bios, Hp nx6110, f10 to get to enter password.

If you are able to get past the BIOS password you should be able to boot from the DVD and begin the install process. In the BIOS you may need to set the boot order to boot from CD/DVD first.http://www.techsupportforum.com/forums/f217/bios-admin-password-i-have-os-not-654710.html

In the process of installing windows 7 Professional I discovered that I could not get into the BIOS or setup because it was password protected. I?ve tried a number of things including installing HP ProtectTools Security stuff and it seems that all that has done is to create more login passwords. I can now get into setup but as a user but not as an administrator and so I cannot change password. There is also another screen that shows up where I must enter a password and I?m not sure if that?s happening because of the HP Protect Tools that I installed and then removed or because of something in the BIOS. I?ve uninstalled HP Protect Tools and reinstall windows 7 and I still see both password screens. I attempted to update the BIOS using a file downloaded from the HP support website but cannot because I don?t know the admin password for access the BIOS.

Hello, I'm needing a BIOS reset password. The current halt code is 5C533F4A. I have tried https://bios-pw.org/ and the results do not work. Thank you.-Timothy
Hi, Your notebook is producing a hexadecimal halt code which is stored in ram as a 'one off' and will be re-calculated after a reboot. This indicates you have one of the later AMI bios's and unfortunately none of the current code generators will work for this - surprisingly, you can still remove a power on password from the machine by removing the rtc cell ( leave the power board connected ) then hold down the power button for 60 seconds before re-inserting the rtc. The bad news is that the rtc is on the 'wrong' side of the system board so will require quite a lot of disassembly - see Page 115 of your Maintenance & Service Guide. Dear Customer, Welcome to HP Support Forum and we are glad to assist you. This is to inform you that all HP Business Notebooks such as Probooks or Elitebooks have more stringent security than consumer models infact they don't produce 'halt codes', the password cannot be derived from the Serial Number and thecode is stored in non-volatile memory so removing the RTC cell will not reset the password in this case. Please have a look at this link. http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/49497-HP-Probook-Elitebook-BIOS-Password-Reset-Utility Replace the BIOS chiphttp://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-Elitebook-8470p-8470w-8570p-8570w-8770w-Programmed-Bios-Chip-No-Password-... We have two XPS12 9Q33 units that have the BIOS Admin password set, but no one left in the department knows the password. We've tried all the normal variants to no avail.
Yesterday I spoke with out of warranty support, and the gentleman was unable to help as from his documentation this computer has a Phoenix BIOS, while in reality all the units we have are AMI BIOS. We have 12 of these units, but only these two have the admin password set.
Does anyone know of a way to reset the BIOS ADMIN password? Not the system password, we have that, it's specifically the ADMIN password. Support yesterday was very frustrating in trying to get them to simply listen to what our problem was so I gave up on that and came here.

Hi, You can use the below link to generate the BIOS password reset key. Enter the System Halt code or the Serial Number of the unit to generate one. You can: 1. Use the unlock code you generated to enter the BIOS2. Disable all passwords that are enabled in the BIOS's security menu.3. If asked for current password - type the unlock code4. I purchased this pre-owned and would like to update the bios. It wont let me do so unless i give it the admin password. How to take the password off ?
SOLUTION: This is what I did and worked like a dream. Contacted HP, told them the problem. They "escalated the case," took my info. The next day I was emailed a file called SMC.bin. It is formatted specifically for my machine, has to match the UUID. Copied file to FAT 32 formatted jump drive, booted it as per the email instructions, reset bios password.I did this via chat on HP's website.Screwing with the bios battery will not work on Elitebook...http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Business-Notebooks/How-to-reset-bios-admin-password-HP-Elitebook-8440p/td-p/2675995

Could someone help me? I have a Dell Latitude D510 laptop and I put an BIOS admin passwoed an year ago. Now I need to remeve it but I don't remember. I tried the latitude.exe program but did not worked. Service tag nr. is 6TXB42J-595B . Thanks a lot in advance.
U will have to do, a chip reset.
Coz i also keep trying those ideas with the latitude application but it failed, but when i did the chip reset, thing worked out exactly how i wanted them.
All the best
If your trying to change a bios setting or Reformat any of the newer Dell Laptop's you may run into this issue! There is an Administrator password you will be prompted for. I believe this is created at the factory and unplugging the bios battery no longer does the trick! I tried many different passwords combos and found that:
<dell> all lowercase and minus the brackets works for a few of the newer Dell Laptops
That makes no sense at all. If it were true then Dell would have to provide the password as part of the information it provides to customers when they buy the laptop. Anything else would subject them to being sued.http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/126415-dell-bios-admin-password-inspiron-1720-a.html

I have an older HP900 laptop which is a nice size to take in our motor home. However, it overheats after running for about 15 minutes. I understand there is a bios update that turns the cooling fan on sooner but I can't get into the bios because of password protection. Any ideas on how to crack the password or any pins to short to reset it?
The laptop will run fine if I rais it off the table and have a fan blowing on it from behind. Cooling fan in laptop runs, but it only comes on shortly before a shutdown if I am not running an additional fan blowing under it.
thanks for any ideas or help

Hi, Unfortunately I'm not aware of any 3rd party utilities that work with this particular Model, however if you Contact HP Business support they should be able to send you a customised SMC.bin file which you can use at boot to reset the password. so, i have a 6530B that i got from a relative, and i must say, it is extremly difficult to work with... I want to do a factory restore, and to do so i need to get through the bios admin password. I cant even boot from a USB to do a fresh install... Would it be easier to have HP support help me with the bios password, or should i just put in a new HD and do a fresh install, using another pc as a surrogate for the install(cant get past bios on tis one)? from what ive read spending the day trying to find a way around the password, that there really is no workaround... Kind of obnoxious... but its a business machine so makes sense...http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/6530b-factory-reset-bios-admin-password/td-p/5690684
HP PAVILION AB-063CL Locked with BIOS ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD. Message after 3 attempts states: SYSTEM DISABLEDA [6087979E] How can I disable this? Thank you!
The bad news is that the rtc can be on the 'wrong' side of the system board so will require quite a lot of disassembly. I have tried the following
The original resolution is more than this but i cant find this option at all.
System resotre - doesnt work popus up access denied - Tried in administrator login also
Downloaded latest driver for win 7 for hp 6730b from hp website still no changes
Need assistance, how to get back my old resolution. Can i use the win 7 dvd to repair this display problem.
Someone plz assist.
You can use revert the driver back by clicking Rollback driver in Device Manager
Right click on Display, click rollback and follow on screen
Hope this helps.
Edit: please excuse my typing, I am typing this from my iPhone and it is very difficult to type.
I am running XP Home.
Recently in an attempt to overcome a serious malfunction I opted to do a "repair"of XP.
To carry out this function I was required to submit an Administartor Password...this is a personal home computer and I don't have any Admin Passwords.
As I was unable to provide a password I could not execute the "repair"program.
Fortunately for me I did eventually overcome the problem I had but this raises a serious question re this Admin Password problem.
Has anyone had a similar problem or knows the ANSWER to it.
Is this Just a shortcoming foul up without a solution??????
I believe it is possible to get a Password reset program..but if there is no password then what is there to reset???
Well, my problem is the following. I currently have the Administrator account and the guest account active. The administrator account is protected by a password that I "accidentaly" forgot (I haven't used that machine since some months). How can I enter to my admin account and change my password to something I remember (like 1234)?
I allready tried the Net user metod (net user John /add, net localgroup administrators...), but, as I guessed before I did it, the guest account don't have the rights to do that. Please, tell me what can I do.
Thanks you for your time

Hi and welcome. Unfortunately, we can't assist with passwords as we have no way of knowing the intent. I would suggest a call to the former employee.
Next time, your company should have better control over passwords.
Good Morning and thanks for looking at my post A while back i wanted to keep my SO out of my info while still letting her use the laptop so i decided in all my wisdom to create two users making myself the administrator It was Admin problem. password very late and i was a bit distracted and i have never been able to remember my password since This was about months ago I can still access the computer through her account but obviously can not do change or update anything It is an older HP Pavilion Entertainment Notebook PC that is over yo Other than the problem mentioned it runs perfect for such an antique and i don t need Admin password problem. much capability as unfortunately I only know enough to use computers for the most basic of tasks Is there anything i can do If I left out any important details please let me know so I can fill in the gaps A local quot EXPERT quot recommended that before i pay him - to attempt to fix it that i could try a simple fix by removing the battery for a few hours I tried didn t work Any help at all would be appreciated as i have no idea what do do next Thank YouPR
Sorry. but there's really nothing that can be done here to assist you in overcoming a system password.Such is a security measure. From the forum rules, http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/boardrules.php:"No subject matter will be allowed whose purpose is to defeat existing copyright or security measures. If a user persists and/or the activity is obviously illegal the staff reserves the right to remove such content and/or ban the user. This would also mean encouraging the use or continued use of pirated software is not permitted, and subject to the same consequences." I recently changed the password of my admin account on my computer but when I then tried to log in with the new password it didn't work, i even tried my old and it didn't work either. I also have a guest account which i can access without any password. Is there any way to solve this problem from the guest account, without having to reinstall the whole windows?
By the way, I don't have admin privileges on the guest account and I'm running Windows 7 x32 if someone wonders.
Thx in advance
Since you don't have admin rights on the guest account, you won't be able to reset the admin password. I'm not sure if they are kosher with forum rules to post, but there are plenty of free, easy to use password reset utilities out there.http://www.sevenforums.com/general-discussion/125795-admin-password-problem-my-windows-7-laptop.html
When I change the default password to my own password, I can't make any changes to my settings. I get.."only the admin can make changes."....Any ideas?
You need to provide more info like your router manufacturer and model number. Your router should have come with instructions on how to reset back to the factory defaults. Reset it and start again from the beginning.

Password protection bypass is a touchy problem. My only suggestion would be to look through all these in the tutorial section of this forum.
