I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link http://downloadreimage.com/directdownload.php. (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Hey everyone first time poster here on this forum. I have a little bit of a issue I haven't been able to figure out. I'm running Windows 8.1 Update 2 and I'm having a issue where Adobe Flash crashes randomly and get a script hang error. I have uninstalled Adobe flash and reinstalled and wiped cache in firefox and still haven't resolved the issue. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue and a possible fix?

Thanks.

Using Firefox, while trying adding photos in Mixbook, Adobe continually crashes. Plugins and Firefox have all been updated to latest versions. Any ideas?

A:Adobe Flash Crash

The last Mixbook recommendation is:

"Our recommendations for browsers that will optimize the performance of the Mixbook Editor are: Firefox 1.5. 2.0 or 3.0, Internet Explorer 6 or 7, and Safari 2.0. We do not recommend AOL's web browser to run our online software."

Maybe a better answer would be available if they updated their website, or maybe that's still their recommendation. LOL

Hello. I'm new here. I have a lot of experience with forums. And, I know a pretty good amount of information about Computers/Hardware and other softwares.

Anyway, I have a problem to tell you guys with IE6.

Whenever I go on certain web pages with Flash Objects/Ads, my browser crashes with this message:

Code:
The following error has occurred with the following add-on: "Flash10a.ocx"
This doesn't happen in Safari for Windows and Firefox 3.0.5 ( now 3.0.6 ).

I don't want to use Internet Explorer 7 ( or IE8 BETA ) as it lags a lot more than the browsers listed above. ( Running XP w/ 256mb of RAM )

Any reasons?

Hi all,

First of all hi! This is my first post so if this is in the wrong place move it and give me a sleep haha...

OK, so I have a strange problem. Since yesterday, browsing away from any site using flash video (or maybe just flash of any kind, i'm not 100% sure), or closing a tab with said content in it, does the following:

In Firefox: Crashes the browser instantly
In Opera: Freezes the browser for between 5-10 seconds each time
In IE7: Not tried, I have a dislike for IE

Any ideas what could cause this? I've downloaded the adobe flash uninstaller from the adobe site and reinstalled flash, no change.

Help?! Thanks in advance,

I have an HP that runs Vista in 64 bit. I've had a problem with it periodically crashing -- the entire system, that is. I'll put the computer to sleep and then, when I come back to it, I get the blue dead screen. The only thing I can do is manualy shut off and then reboot. I haven't lost any data yet, but it scares me each time.

I've noticed recently that every time I've had this crash I've also been prompted for an update to my Adobe Flash. I suspect now that something in that update causes the crash, but you never know.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? If so, is it just a matter of removing Flash altogether. All of those updates are a pain, but it is a useful app.

Thanks for anyone able to give a hand.

A:adobe flash for vista 64 and firefox?

Currently, Adobe Flash Player has no support for 64 bit based browsers. If your Firefox is 32 bit, then you can install and use flash; but with Minefield (64 bit firefox) and IE 64 bit version are not compatible with flash player.

But Java has native support for both 32 bit and 64 bit.

Seems with new 39.0 update for Firefox i started to get warnings to block Adobe Flash Player, it also set it to "Ask to Activate"
At first i thought it was out of date needed updating, not case i have newest version. Guess as most will say always been a security risk, but more so when was not updated. Not sure if need it, but some sites are asking to activate because of this.
Even causing me an issue here, guess it is at my own risk as said.

Wondered if these add ons were enough but as i see sites are asking for Flash player, although one here is listed by Adobe and is always active.
Used it in the past with never having issues with threats, seems IE has no issues with it and not trying to block it.

I downloaded Firefox and then I noticed that none of the flash was coming through on the sites. I went to adobe, downloaded the plugin installer and then ran it. That's when I got the error. Hey everyone,

I recently installed a RTM Windows 7 Pro on my laptop (upgraded from XP), and now I'm starting to run into a little browser issues involving Adobe Flash.

Youtube, and other video sites seem to work just fine, but for some odd reason, a couple sites, such as Kotaku.com, always initiates some random Adobe Flash 9 "where is the debugger or host application running?" popup error. The real annoyance is however, that this message pops up repeatedly for maybe 8-10 times before this second error log message is displayed. I have no idea what this message even means.

I noticed there is a new Adobe Flash 10 version out, as well as Shockwave 11, and have installed both, but in my Firefox's browser plugin menu, Shockwave Flash is still listed as version 9... Is there a way to completely remove this?

Thanks for any guidance you can provide!

There is an option that shows up to accept the process but it doesn't work just continues to block?

Upcoming versions of Mozilla's Firefox browser will automatically warn users running versions of Adobe's Flash Media Player that contain known security bugs, according to a published report.
The check will be invoked each time the popular open-source browser is updated, according to the report which was published Thursday by The H. Users who have out-of-date versions of the Adobe application will be notified in the "What's New" browser page that automatically opens each time an update is installed.

A:Youtube not working with IE8 and Firefox even if updated Adobe flash/

Try turning off hardware acceleration in the Flash Player, as that can sometimes resolve issues with Flash videos not playing.

Right-click in the black video window
click "Settings",
select the Display tab and UNtick ?Enable hardware acceleration"

I normally use Google Chrome but have been using Firefox for the last few days because some of the facebook games I play run better with Firefox. It worked okay at first but suddenly Adobe Flash 11.5 keeps crashing every 5 seconds. Windows solutions is telling me that my data execution program security is shutting it down and I followed the instructions to disable DEP for adobe flash but it won't let me. I tried using an older version of Flash but then I'm unable to play certain games. If I try to play these games on Chrome then I have problems with shockwave.

have NEVER had these issues watching online vids using firefox until the past few days. Now I am getting routine aadobe flash crashes on youtube, the only place I watch much video. I have 20 mbps downloads so speed is not the issue.

How can I roll back the version of firefox or flash? or if you have similar issues how did you fix them?

Hey!

I got Windows 7 just some days ago and I really love it. But there is a minor (?) problem

When I try to watch streams on Ustream, the browsers crash. I think it has to do with Flashplayer somehow, because Ustream is based on flash. I'm using build 7048.

I really love Windows 7, but I probably love watching NHL on the computer more. So...anyone else experience the same problem? Any solution?

Here's the crashlog:

hey everyone! i've been having this issue for a while now and well Firefox simply uses A LOT of CPU usage
and my Adobe Flash keeps constantly crashing so often this had never happened before

Things i've tried
---------------
Used CCleaner to clean out everything on my browsers (except passwords and saved user info)
anti virus program etc....
Things i don't want to do
---------------------------
completely make firefox fresh (as in deleting all my add ons etc)
use other browsers.

A:Firefox taking a lot of CPU Usage + Adobe Flash constantly crashing

Hi:

To a large extent, RAM (memory) is there to be used.
Firefox will use what it needs, especially on content- and graphics-heavy sites.
That is done to provide you with the optimal browsing experience.
Re: CPU usage: you don't provide any data as to how much is "a lot", as far as your CPU usage is concerned?

It's not recommended to use CCleaner or other utilities to "clean" Firefox -- such cleaners and tweakers can actually damage a program.
The power users and experts over at forums.mozillazine.org suggest that one should let Firefox clean up after itself.

In any event, standard troubleshooting for Firefox begins here:

Standard Diagnostic - Firefox
or
Fix slowness, crashing, error messages and other problems

>> Most Firefox problems originate in the user's profile, not in the program itself. The initial diagnostic steps will not cause you to "lose" anything (bookmarks, extensions, settings, etc.). However, if your profile is seriously screwed up, at some point, the best strategy is to start with a new, fresh, clean, undamaged profile. If it gets to that step, you can back up your bookmarks and import them into the new profile. But you will be better served starting from scratch with extensions and add-ons and settings tweaks.

--------------
For Adobe Flash Player (if you wish to continue to use it, even though it is being replaced by HTML5, as explained HERE), you might want to start fresh:
Download, save and follow the instructions to run the Flash Player uninstaller.
Go to this site and download the current Plug-In version of Flash Player for Windows, 18.0.0.232 (this site will give you ONLY the Flash Player installer, without any bundled crapware).
Run the installer.
(Do the same with the Active X version of Flash Player, if you also use MS Internet Explorer)
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
MM

Hello first time posting in these kind of forums I Adobe issues Sound and Firefox after and Video update Flash m used to googling around and finding the answer to my computer problems but so far no dice and I m starting to get a wee bit stressed On Wednesday my web Sound and Video issues after Firefox and Adobe Flash update browser FireFox and Adobe Flash player updated to the latest versions Sound and Video issues after Firefox and Adobe Flash update I didn t think anything of it until I attempted to play some videos and found the youtube ones crashing while other kinds of videos often the HTML types i e Vimeo play but don t have any sound at all I unchecked Use smooth scrolling and Use hardware acceleration when available as I seen advised when I looked up how to solve that problem but then I got the error where the youtube video tries to play the first few seconds three times as it tries lower or high quality settings before displaying its static error message and the other videos remain with no sound I restarted the computer and reset firefox but I only came upon a solution when I temporarily disabled the speakers When I re-enable the speaker the sound comes back but soon it goes back to the status quo It seemed to go away late Thursday morning and for the rest of the day but now its back I uninstalled Flash player and I thought that might be the cause but the youtube videos which run on the inbuilt shockwave flash just eventually become mute instead of crashing Yesterday and today some videos that continued playing as that came in and gained a static like sound a bit like the sound that comes when things stutter and freeze and the Blue Screen of Death appears When I do the sound test for the speaker configuration this deep it usually fails This problem isn t restricted to my Firefox web browser When I tried to watch both youtube and other kinds of videos on Internet Explorer I encounter a similar kind of problem I played a fifteen second clip I had on vlc media player and the sound during those times can ran from being mute initially to going in and out sometimes with the same static This all takes place on a Dell Inspiron Series computer which I got in September The past few weeks there have been mutes and adobe flash crashes but I was always able to get things working again with a refresh or opening and closing Firefox But this is becoming a great problem and I would appreciate any advice or insight you might give to the cause and possible fix

Firefox started to give me some trouble a couple of days and it seems I can't view pages who have Flash content installed. It seems to crash for no apparent reason, or if I let it play, after 2 seconds or so the browser also stops responding. I updated both, Flash player and Firefox to their latest version and it does the same thing. I even tried updating the video card drivers thinking that it might not work because of it. Any ideeas why this is happening?

We have IE Say a user goes to MSN com The ad on the right is a Flash object Some of our users will see that object flickering when scrolling up or down on the page or when hovering their mouse over it It's quite annoying Almost all users are running Adobe Flash Player but I think I've seen this happen on systems with Macromedia Flash Player as well Other systems don't have the problem I've seen this happen on one system and not another while both seemed to have the same Flash objects installed Uninstalling all Flash players using Adobe's prescribed Flash Player uninstall tool seems to work at first but users later complain again Note that they just about always end up installing Flash Player again because sites ask for it I don't believe I've seen Adobe Object 9.0.28.0) Flash V. Player (shockwave 9 Using Flash R28 Ie Flickering Flash - Objects - Activex 6 this on any XP systems at all including my own but most of our users have Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V. 9.0.28.0) Win K Does anybody know why this happens or how to permanently fix it Thanks Hotshot

A:Ie 6 - Flash Objects Flickering - Using Adobe Flash Player 9 Activex R28 (shockwave Flash Object V. 9.0.28.0)

More info: Adobe Flash Player 9, Macromedia Flash Player 8, and Macromedia Flash Player 10 all produce the same result--Flash objects that flicker when you put your mouse over any part of them. Moving Flash objects will flicker constantly while moving and stop flickering when the animation is done. SWF files (at least the one at www.stormwerks.com/linked/stuf/AYB2.swf) work without a problem when using Adobe Flash Player 9.

If I don't have Adobe Flash Player 9 installed, the Win2K machines prompt me to install them for almost any site that uses Flash (I guess most recent Flash objects cannot be viewed with the older Macromedia Flash Players).

Any suggestions?

A:Adobe Flash uninstall tool,& is there a better/safer flash player w/o the hassles?

The flash player for IE and Firefox is in C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash. The IE one is called Flash9f.ocx and for Firefox its NPSWF32.dll.

You can view current version, by going to a page with a flash object on the web page, right click on the Flash object and select About Adobe Flash Player 9 and it will take you to Adobe site and display version.
You can also get version from the files about on the Version or Details tab of its properties.

As for removal, just either use the Uninstall tool in the same folder (See above) or delete all the files in the folder to remove it.

Hello,

I need to create a short marketing intro for the business I am working for and would like to find a program that let's me create this fairly easily without using Adobe Flash Pro or their products.

Is there anything that'll let me do this?

i can't even begin to explain this, i will just have to show someone. if someone would volunteer let me know ill send you the .fla file that i am editing in adobe flash cs4. its bascially a flash menu with 5 links on it and some fancy stuff. for some reason i can't find way to change the text of 4 out of the 5 buttons. anyone?

A:Solved: Need help with Adobe Flash CS4. Can't edit certain aspects of flash file!

Are all five buttons an instance of one library resource ? Are you trying to change their content through Actionscript or the Flash IDE ?

Not sure where this should end up,but I'm sure it will be guided to the correct forum,as always.
After doing quite a bit of reading today,I decided that the Adobe PDF viewer is a resource hog. I uninstalled any traces of it I could find in my add/remove programs part of my pc. Just a few minutes ago while reading another post here at BC, I discovered I had to install Adobe Flash player to view an article thru YouTube.
My question is how does flash differ from the pdf viewer? They're both an Adobe thing, right?

I opted to download a small viewer called Sumatra,by the way.

Thanks
honu1

A:Adobe flash player+Adobe pdf viewer

It's a different product and unlike Adobe Reader, there are no alternatives for Flash.

What's the big difference if any between shockwave player and flash player? I see both in the control panel.

However, one says I have flash player 10, but I have just now downloaded their newest version 10.1. And that's been the second time at least for the same update. ??

The other says I have shockwave player 11.5. Both are Adobe.

By the way, in the control panel and over on the right side, there's a column that lists how often used and also where you can delete a program. But with the new version, altho it's listed as loaded on the left side, the right is blank except for the word delete. In other words, no listing for size like all the other programs.

A:IE9 and Skype crash

Try uninstalling Skype and removing any addons Skype may have added to IE9. See if IE9 still crashes.

Browsers crashes are almost always caused by faulty addons.

For what it's worth, I quit using Skype after becoming annoyed with it's poor reliability and large resource consumption (especially when 5.x came out). This article also contributed to my decision: http://www.zdnet.com/blog/networking/how-skype-does-and-doesnt-work/1051

A:Adobe Shockwave 11.5 & Adobe Flash 10 - do I need?

Hi, Adobe shockwave and flash are fundamental for experiencing the whole Internet.

Without Shockwave and flash almost no Internet games would work, most online Videos won't work (YouTube won't work unless you ask it to load the movie in HTML 5 from youtube.com/html5) and tons of other stuff wouldn't work to its full potential.

You can live without these 2 plugins from Adobe (1 of my friends doesn't have them installed for moral reasons) but I wouldn't recommend it until HTML 5 really becomes wide spread.

Greetings;. Are these the same thing or two different things.?

A:Adobe flash player Adobe flash player active x

Adobe Flash Player has several variants for different operating systems and browsers and is now on version 11.9.  The active-x variant is used with Windows Internet Explorer.  There is another Windows variant for plugin based browsers, such as Firefox.  There are variants for Mac OS X and Linux, although the last version produced for Linux was 11.2.

Hi,
I use Skype on a daily basis to keep in touch with family. Generally, I have no problems. However, any contact with my son inevitably results in my computer shutting down. Our contact can last as long as half an hour, or as little as 2 minutes, but almost always ends the same way.
This does not happen with anyone else.
There's probably a simple explanation, but if there is it escapes me.

A:problems with skype, flash,and GfxCUI

it might be that your netbook is loading slowly because of the things that you have installed before, or that the loading of all the files is loading a bit more slower than usual, i know this because i had a computer with W7 on it and it kept loading slowly. If things keep happening, tell me and I will try to some the problem for you, but for now, just wait around 10 minutes AFTER logging into the netbook to try to log into skype, it might help.

Most common solution on the web is to uninstall the Intellitype software

1 - make sure that you're using the most current version of the Intellitype software.
2 - if that doesn't work, search the web for a download of v8.1 and try that.

What does someone need to know about installing something application flash as usb Skype to drive portable Install like Skype onto a usb flash drive as a portable application There is a portableapps com apps website which shows a listing for Skype Some things seem unclear One can install to a usb flash drive what I may like to do Would one download the installer for the portable Skype to the computer or to the flash drive itself When the installer is then run and the destination for the install is picked as to the usb flash drive does the computer itself have registry entries and other files put into Windows System System folder which would not be on the usb flash drive Then how are the flash drive and the computer from which the installation was made be coordinated or associated after installation What then should happen if later one wishes to update or upgrade to a higher version the portable Skype Need to go back to the same computer and the same flash drive and run an update or upgrade installer What about uninstalling If instead Install Skype as portable application to usb flash drive of an installer the portable application were to be merely in zipped form needing to only be unpacked onto the flash drive then this would appear simple but one seems to be directed to download and INSTALLER not a zipped package

Hey guys hope you can help me here.
When i'm at any kind of voice overs, in a call on skype or teamspeak it manages to happen a sound crash, but the time isnt certain, sometimes it takes about 10 minutes and other times take 1 hour or more to crash.
When the sound crashes, all the videos freeze. Its like watching a video with super slow motion and no sound.
Only way to solve this is rebooting.

So the main problem is with the starting up of iTunes I have the most recent version and when I start it up with Firefox and Skype already running everything suffers a detrimental lag On are not getting along... iTunes, and Firefox, Skype top of that iTunes takes about minutes to iTunes, Firefox, and Skype are not getting along... finally start up I ve taken a look at my Task Manager when opening up iTunes and several executions are going berserk spoolsv exe ashWebsv exe firefox exe and iTunes exe sometimes iTunesHelper exe as well As iTunes struggles to open it is taking up to k of memory usage nearly X as much as normal This began about two weeks ago and I haven t installed anything new Unrelated I have an issue with my Start menu telling me there are items that can t be displayed which I have tried to solve by deleting and when I restart my computer it demands that I insert an installer disk I no longer have Clicking the cancel button on this persistently pop-up window X will get it to go away Here is my HiJackThis Log My HiJackThisLog is attached Thank you in advance The Chalange nbsp

A:iTunes, Firefox, and Skype are not getting along...

Well, if it reassures you at all there is no virus on your computer or anything that shouldn't be running from what I can tell...

Your problem is that Firefox, iTunes and Skype are piggies towards CPU usage. They are like a fat kid that doesn't know when to stop eating pie. Your best solution would be to close one of them. I'm against iTunes, I am a Winamp kind of guy but that's just me. Skype when you are in a call, automatically changes the process priority to high, so if you are in a call while trying to surf the web. I guarentee that you are going to have a problem with lag.

I hate to say this, but your best option to fix that while you are on Skype is to use Internet Explorer. That's right I said it, the gods are going to kill me now. I despise Internet Explorer, but it has one thing better than Firefox. It is incorporated with Windows therefore making it less of a CPU gobbler.

Hope that helps...

p.s. here is the link to winamp if you want to switch from itunes. www.winamp.com

Hi I recently reinstalled my OS and all my applications and did all the Windows updates on my Acer One Happy netbook running Windows Starter and Firefox using BSOD Skype I previously had a problem BSOD with Acer Rapid Storage Technology a number of months ago and was told to delete it The problem was associated with Hibernation and Sleep modes though This time I was in the middle of a long Skype call and tried to access a website which I have never had a problem with in the past in Firefox at the same time Firefox gave me a quot Not Responding quot message for a while then BSOD I was wondering if you could take a look and see if it was just a fluke or whether I'm having a problem with Acer Rapid Storage Technology again or something else Acer also has some pre-installed plug-in with Skype that I was not sure whether to allow it to run or not so I am wondering if I should just uninstall that Thank you for any help you can give Link

This pop-up is driving me crazy! It pops up on the video screen I want to watch in Fox News website -- I haven't noticed it popping up on other sites as yet. It will list the site asking for permission to store information on my computer. The link I have attached below gives instructions on how to remove this pop-up. Is this flash player thing safe or is it some kind of virus or malware? The attached link refers to it as spyware. If I were to remove the Flash player program, will it affect playing games or whatever on my laptop. I need help, please.

After receiving a msg “welcome to nginx!” in every website that I go to using any browser even after deleting browsing history, my pc was reformatted. However it became extremely slow, it always hangs and I receive the msgs: “The following plug-in has crashed: skype click to call” and “The following plug-in has crashed: Shockwave flash”. I have deleted browsing history as advised, downloaded Shockwave Flash in the adobe site and updated java, same thing. What do I do next?

Thanks!

A:slow pc, plug-in has crashed: Shockwave flash and skype click to call

I would first get a hard drive diagnostic test out of the way before looking elswhere - just as a "first step" in troubleshooting the cause. If the hard drive passes with flying colours - hooray - at least you know it's not that.

Test it with the drive manufacturer's own diagnostic software, links here: http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287

Or you can use Seagate SeaTools to test any hard drive, regardless of brand: http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.j...toid=552bd20cacdec010VgnVCM100000dd04090aRCRD
