Bluetooth problem on Dell Lap Win7

Q: Bluetooth problem on Dell Lap Win7

Can anybody help me?
I have a DELL laptop with windows 7 and a Bose SoundLink, they connect by blue tooth. I had a problem and removed the device (Bose) from the bluetooth devices on the Dell and all the devices on the Bose SoundLink, then tried to link them again and they won't. It worked perfectly the first time around.

I recommend downloading and running Reimage. It's a computer repair tool that has been proven to identify and fix many Windows problems with a high level of success.

I've used it in the past to identify and fix everything from blue screens (BSOD's), ActiveX errors, corrupt files and processes, dll/exe/sys errors, recover lost memory, Windows update problems, defragging, malware removal etc.

You can download it direct from this link (This link will automatically start a download of Reimage that you can save to your computer.)

Bluetooth was working fine last week, now it's not.

Device manager shows that Windows has stopped the device because of a problem (error 43)

I tried updatng the drivers but it apparently has the most recent ones.

I've googled the error and it seems to be a common problem but I haen't found a solution that works. I tried using a 'driver installer' -it detects the device then finds a driver but then tells me it can't communicate with the device.

Uninstalling the device/drivers then reinstalling just brings me back to square one, device and drivers installed but windows decides to stop the device.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi all, hoping someone can help.

I have just installed the HP version of Windows 7 on my Dell XPS M2010 only to find that the bluetooth keyboard isn't working... or, more properly, that it shows that it's syncing properly with the main unit (keyboard light is on indicating that bluetooth works) but I am unable to type anything.

I've been told that my bluetooth card is Broadcom 335 and I've downloaded the driver from Broadcom, but it can't seem to detect any device. I've tried the Toshiba Bluetooth stack for W7, and that has the same problem.

Any advice?

It's the simplest way I could word the title. I was having some issues with my bluetooth device: Dell 370 Bluetooth Minicard, in my Alienware M17x. I had Bluesoleil and Widcomm drivers installed. I uninstalled both and went to the registry to delete traces of both Bluesoleil and Widcomm. Well, I also accidentally removed something under Bluetooth, without even thinking. Here's the problem now:

Instead of getting bluetooth devices, it fails to install driver software for my mini-card. Actually, it doesn't even recognize my device as Bluetooth. It shows up in Device Manager under "Other Devices" and in that tree is called "Unknown Device." I know that my device is probably screwed due to the registry edit, I'm just hoping the only way of fixing this ISN'T a complete reinstall of Windows 7.

Can anyone possibly help me with fixing this? If not I'll start the process of moving 400+GB of personal files.....

Hello guys & girls,

I'm unable to get the in-built bluetooth function working on Dell Vostro 1400 laptop. I have perused Dell forums to no avail. I have downloaded the machines bluetooth driver & have located a couple of patches via said forum but all to no avail.

I've uninstalled & re-installed the Widdcomm software too even via a direct route by drilling down to the folders in the OS in my case it's C:\dell\drivers\R140135\3100_216\Win32 & have even tried utulising the laptop's drivers cd to load bluetooth from that. Again no luck.

Anyway thanks for looking in & if there are some Dell engineers taking a look here then I appreciate any help you may have also.

Thanks in advance

My computer is an Alienware M11x running Windows 7.

For some unknown reason I cannot connect my Logitech V470 bluetooth mouse anymore. It has connected and worked just fine before. The computer and mouse are both brand new. When I check the properties of the computer it shows an exclamation mark next to the Dell Wireless 365 Bluetooth Module (the bluetooth radio). When I click on it this message is displayed in the device status box "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

The problem started when I sent my computer into hibernate mode, turned it back on and McAfee security installed an update.

There is nothing wrong with the mouse.

Just got a new XPS 13 9343. Windows 8.1 64 bit.
I have a Bluetooth headset (shows BT508 under device manager). I paired it, but it does not show up under Sound-->Playback setting. It shows up under Device Manger. I connected the Bluetooth headset to Lenovo X1 Carbon, the headset works fine. The difference is the XPS 13 uses DW1560 Bluetooth 4.0 LE, but X1 Carbon uses Intel wireless Bluetooth 4.0 + HS adapter.
Do I need any special drive or software?

Thank you.

*May I know which is the operating system installed on the system .
*Have you set your headphone to discoverable mode and then set your Bluetooth manager to search for the device.
*Have you checked if any other bluetooth device works with this system ( Kindly check the same in safemode )

Hi there,
i recently bought a Dell laptop, Inspiron N4110. They gave me a series of driver and installed those drivers on my Windows 7 Home Premium. The problem is, the first time my wireless device won't connect and keep informed me that the driver not install.
So i decide to remove all the driver, then using the device manager to search for new hardware, and let the system determine which driver is match to the hardware. Now, my wireless device can connect. But, suddenly my bluetooth device won't connect, and the system informed that the driver not install.
I tried to use the step as i did with my wireless device, but the bluetooth device still won't work.
Anyone, please help. Thank you so much.

You need to go to the Dell website and install the correct drivers, you'll need to use a USB stick/drive or the wired Ethernet connection to get those drivers onto the laptop.

Here's the Dell site, use the Service Tag number off the bottom of the laptop to get the exact drivers:

I like to suggest you run the troubleshooting tool on your computer. Please follow steps below:
1. Type troubleshooting into the (Cortana) search bar
2. Look to the left and click " view all "

First try windows update - any failed windows update or any update that need to be install will cause problems on your system).Secondly, try Hardware And Devices, and then Network Adapter. Hopefully, you're able to get Bluetooth.

Did you ever manage to solve this? I'm having the identical problem the last 3 weeks or so. I'm using a tablet with built-in Bluetooth, and I can get my previously-working keyboard working by removing it and pairing it again, but then it works for a minute or two and quits on my, showing it is still paired. I know the battery is fully charged on the keyboard.

Edit: Mine doesn't mention Broadcom, presumably because it's built-in and not connected to a USB dongle.

I have just re-formatted my laptop again after getting a virus and the laptop isn't picking up the driver for the bluetooth module 2.0.

It doesn't do anything! I've also tried to do a Google, but haven't been able to find sufficient information on this. If anyone knows any more about this problem then let me know

I have a Sony STR-DN1030 AV receiver with Bluetooth. I've been working on this issue on and off for 6 months now. The problem was : I would try pairing the computer to the receiver for audio and windows would say paired, but would not connect. I tried un-pairing and pairing , updating drivers, all kinds of forums.  Today I got the computer to connect.. I found a Bluetooth software in the add / remove programs list in the windows control panel. I figured it couldn't get any worse so i went ahead and uninstalled it and tried to connect. It connected right away. I believe that the dell manufactured software for Bluetooth was in conflict with another software ; possibly the windows software that controls Bluetooth devices. I haven't noticed that anything else has bee affected yet.
BTW I am using windows 10 pro
any way It was very frustrating so i wanted to share this information.

Hi all,

I have tried to reinstalled the driver but still not effect. Can you give me a helps ?

A:problem with Dell Synaptic TouchPad in Win7

Microsoft recommends that you perform a full installation of Windows 7, rather than an upgrade. When you are finished installing, visit Dell's website and download the latest software & driver of your touchpad for your specific computer model. (Software & drivers included on a disk often are not the latest.) If they do not offer versions for Windows 7, try the ones for Vista.

If you do not wish to reinstall, still try to install the latest software and driver. If that does not work, a full installation of Windows 7 may be needed. Either that, or the Vista software & drivers are not compatible.

But after I upgraded into Window 7 7600 RTM, this function caused a problem. Event when I do not connect any USB mouse, the Touchpad still not active again, and there is still message from the software says that "There is an external USB mouse connection".

I have tried to reinstall the driver from but no use. And somebody suggest me to use Synaptic driver but it does not has this function.

Morning and welcome to seven forums

I also have a dell with synaptic touchpad and the function works on mine. I think one of the issues is the driver you are using but I dont know since you haven't filled out your system specs. could you click on the link in the lower left corner and fill them out. Also are you running 32bit or 64? the other issue may be the "upgrade" install from vista to win 7. MS and most of us here strongly recommend against it for just this kind of problem

A:Advice re Win7 x64 installation problem on Dell T5400

Hello Unterberg Welcome to the Seven Forums!

I can start off here explaining just why 7 won't load up by simply stating the 7 boot entries as well as the shared BCD store containing the boot entries for both versions are on C! Once you removed the Vista boot drive from the equation you now have to build a new BCD store which isn't quite what you are looking for to make the F drive bootable on it's own. MBR - Restore Windows 7 Master Boot Record

The fast way to deal with replacing the factory preinstall of Vista x86 is either reformat C with the drive tools available on the 7 dvd when first starting up the Windows installer there. Or you could use a drive partitioning tool to remove C only not the hidden recovery partition however in case you want to go back to Vista later in order to see a totally fresh new C primary to work with.

Either way with the Vista preinstall removed you are now ready to follow the clean install instructions for seeing 7 go onto the C primary. Clean Install Windows 7

In fact you could go one step further and see SP1 and MS updates included as well. Slipstream Windows 7 SP1 into a Installation DVD or ISO File

My home desktop is connected to a wireless router through AT&T U-verse and it's broadcasting just fine. I've made sure the password is correct by going to Start-Run, IPCONFIG and then typing my IP address into the address bar in my browser. I dont know what else I can do, I feel like I've tried everything! Help please.

A:Laptop (Win7 Dell Inspiron 1525) won't connect to desktop (XP Dell) wireless router

Sometimes, you need to replace the router.
Sometimes, you can call your service provider and ask them to take a look on line to see if the subscription needs to be refreshed.
But often, all that is needed (despite the fact that it is a lot of work) is to uninstall your existing system, then reboot, and reinstall everything.
You might also find success by looking at your device manager in Windows to see if you have any grey, red, or yellow flags by any related device. That may show you have a permanent hardware failure if you cannot restore it, then you are off to the store or your provider for a new cable modem or router.

Any help is appreciated!

A:Move SSD w/ Win7 Home to new Dell w/ Win7 Pro?

Unless you own a Win7 Home Premium retail license, I'd Clean Reinstall Windows 7
with the Pro installer provided in Step 1 using the key on the COA sticker on laptop.

If you want to transfer the Home Premium install and it is a Legacy BIOS install to an MBR drive then after swapping the SSD into the laptop and if necessary adjusting UEFI BIOS to enable Legacy BIOS or CSM, if it won't start on its own then follow these steps to Adjust Win7 to boot on new hardware with Paragon Adaptive Restore CD. You may still need to run a few Startup Repairs.

Once it's up and running reactivate with your Home Premium key at Control Panel>System activation link.

Once you know it boots you can also do the Change between Win7 versions workaround to change to Pro version to activate with the Pro key that came with the laptop if you prefer that or don't have a retail Home Premium license.

I have recently purchased a HP NC2140 Netbook and have successfully installed Windows 7 beta, (and loving it).

I am trying to connect my HP 914c Windows Mobile 6.1 device via bluetooth, I managed to detect the device and pair them but get an error when trying to find the driver for "Bluetooth Peripheral Device".

I have reinstalled WMDC v6.1.6965 and tried removing the device and reconnecting.

Anyone able to help ?

A:WM6.1 device over bluetooth on Win7 ?

I have connected the 914c via USB and everything works fine. But reconnecting using Bluetooth still requires a driver.

Hi All So I've got a problem trying to get the bluetooth to Pro Bluetooth 32Bit Win7 on work on my Asus HA running Pro I have a Dell Mobile BT module installed and before running Professional I had the RC version of Windows Ultimate And my Bluetooth Bluetooth on Win7 Pro 32Bit was working just fine then I was Bluetooth on Win7 Pro 32Bit able to find all my devices However after reformatting and installing Windows Pro I can't seem to get bluetooth function properly anymore Windows is able to pick up the module just fine but I can't search for any devices So I picked up a CSR Bluetooth adapter thinking it was just a bad module Windows was able to find that just fine but the same issue occured just like the module I tried plugging the dongle into my desktop which is also running a legal copy of Windows Pro It found the adapter installed drivers on its own and I was able to use my bluetooth mouse perfectly So this leads me to believe that it might be a driver issue on my EEEpc I tried askking on the EEEpc forums but it seems that no one is able to help so I thought I'd take my chances here Anyone know what might be what's up -Note- For the desktop I did a full reformat and install but for the netbook everything from the Windows RC was moved to a Windows old folder I'm thinking that may also have something to do with it

A:Bluetooth on Win7 Pro 32Bit

I've had my fair share of notebook Bluetooth related issues in the past, but buying a Bluetooth adapter solved everything, which is not the case for you unfortunately.

Sounds like there might be something malfunctioning in the laptop, either software or hardware, I cannot be sure yet.
However, I would suggest installing a CLEAN copy of Windows on your Asus, making sure nothing's left in there from your old RC version.
This should straighten things up and should provide a more stable point of starting the troubleshooting process.

Good luck.

I dont know anything about how to upgrade my 2 desktops (XP/7) to usb wireless "bluetooth" technology...: I saw some headphones on "that" auction site that claimed they would work with any device that has a bluetooth upgrade. The price is right. What do I have to do to hear my music files wirelessly with these headphones? Is it an internal card? Most adapters I've seen seemed to be for laptops. Whats the latest on bluetoothing headphones with Win XP AND with Win 7?

Hey guys -- So I wanted to throw out a bluetooth compatibility problem to see if anyone else is having the same problem I am using a Dell Studio XPS laptop that DOES NOT have built in Bluetooth built in so I added a dongle I had a few problems with getting the Bluetooth Win7 with problems dongle to work Bluetooth problems with Win7 but eventually got it all set up I am not using a Microsoft bluetooth mouse and an Apple wireless bluetooth keyboard The laptop is only about months old and the mouse and keyboard are even newer On several occasions I have left my computer on and went out for lunch or whatever and come back to a blue screen that seems to cite hardware compatibility problems It says that if I have recently installed new devices that I should remove them or whatever The last thing I thought I would have compatibility problems with is a Microsoft product I think it is the mouse causing the problems I did not have any of these problems with XP Any ideas

I know that it's a fairly common question but I have just not found a way to make it work.

I want to use my iPhone as a modem but do so wirelessly through Bluetooth.

After downloading the latest Centrino drivers for my laptop's Bluetooth adapter, I successfully paired my iPhone and my laptop. The problem is that I can only share music files. For some reason, I can't share Internet access over Bluetooth. It's not coming up as an option in the "Devices" section once both devices are connected.

Am I doing anything wrong or do I need to create a network from within Win7? I tried setting up the drivers using Microsoft's internal database of drivers but it couldn't find any drivers for my Bluetooth adapter. As a result, the two wouldn't even pair up. Downloading the Intel drivers fixed that problem. But now, I find myself not being able to tether without USB.

I recently had a few issues with bluetooth and chipset drivers after upgrading from vista home premium to win7 ultimate. The drivers installed correctly and I was able to pair with the speaker for a moment, though the sound quality was very bad, quite distorted and low volume (sound quality is generally high-fidelity). After removing the device I have been unable to repair. The headphone jack is also non-functional? Any ideas?

Z70-80 laptop. I replaced Win8.1 with Win7 64bit a long time ago (downloaded Win7 drivers from Lenovo). Bluetooth and cardreader never worked after that. I have recently needed Bluetooth and have been unsuccessful at getting it working. Windows shows bluetooth driver as Microsoft Generic. I downloaded more drivers from Lenovo and have manually installed each of them to see if they will work, and they don't. Part of the problem is that I don't know what hardware is in this machine. I know this is not a hardware problem, because I can put the old Win 8.1 harddrive in, and bluetooth works with it. What is the bluetooth hardware in this machine? Where can I get Windows 7 64 bit drivers for bluetooth?

A:Z70-80 Win7 64bit bluetooth driver needed

The caveats of downgrading. If the driver not supporting Win 7 you're out of luck. Win 7 doesn't have USB 3.0 drivers either and whether anything works properly was a lot in beta and could be trouble. Win 8 driver would likely be the best bet.

I want to transfer a vCard using Bluetooth (after all other ideas failed) from a semi-working Blackberry phone to my Win7 laptop.

I bought a small Bluetooth dongle for my PC to go about this and installed the WIDCOMM bluetooth software to the PC. I successfully set up the Blackberry connection.

Under Bluetooth Settings -> PIM interface, options for "Business Cards" include "Do Not Accept" and "Outlook". Unfortunately, there's no option to "Accept raw file", since I don't want the vCard to go directly to Outlook, but just as a raw file to my PC. Is there a way around this?

A:Transferring *raw* vCard from Blackberry to Win7 PC using bluetooth

Do you have a microSD card? If it is anything like the Android I had the vCards are stored on the card and then I simply copy it across to Windows. That being said I know that Blackberry devices encrypt certain information forcing you to use their propriety application.

Do you have outlook? You can export the vCard from outlook to your PC so that is a possibility.

Hello, Since a few weeks,  I haven't been able to use my bluetooth speaker anymore. I used to simply connect (Bluetooth Devices -> My speaker -> Services -> Listen to music) but the "Listen to music" link is now grey and disabled : impossible to click it.I investigated a bit and realized that the "Intel Wireless Bluetooth" driver was not correctly installed. I tried to uninstall, repair, reinstall it, but couldn't do any of these actions, I always got an error message near the end of the installation process.I'm pretty sure this is the problem : I checked the device manager and discovered 16 "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" with a warning icon in the "Other devices" category ... Doesn't look good, right ? Is anyone struggling with the same issues ? Have you found a way to fix it ? Thanks a lot for any help. Best, Sylvain E.K.

It looks as if the Qualcomm USB modem is causing the problem here. I believe that is for using your phone as a modem?

The quick-and-dirty solution is removing the device and the software. If that's not a workable option for you, look on the internet for updated drivers for it. My best guess would be to check for updates for the phone software.

If that doesn't work, post a new jcgriff2 report and we'll go from there.

This is a older desktop, and when I was trying to install a USB bluetooth Kinivo BT 400 some how the Dell 655 Bluetooth Module popped up. I was told years ago from dell that this did not come w/ Bluetooth installed.

I called Kinivo support and said that probably my wireless card did have the Bluetooth built in.

Kinivo support suggested that I restart and hit the F2 key to get into the BIOS. I did that and am a loss where to find the Bluetooth to turn off.

I have used the Kinivo BT-400 for a few years no w/o a problem, but I just purchased a Bluetooth speaker and I must of did something wrong to get this 365 to show up and block my working Kinivo.

Hope I explained this so somebody would understand. I also was told by just disabling the 365 in the device manager would not turn it off

I have a Dell 7710 with a Intel 8260 wifi/bluetooth card. I am trying to pair a Bluetooth headset (blue buds X) and it does not see the headset. I have the headset in pairing mode and the PC is searching, but it never finds it (or anything nearby).

My droid turbo 2 phone can see the blubuds and other devices near by. So I do not think it is an issue with the headset; rather, the 7710.

Also, on the 7710, I set the Bluetooth setting to "Alllow Bluetooth devices to find this PC" and my Turbo 2 does not see the pc.

I have the latest driver from dell. The card is seen in windows and shows functioning properly. The wifi works fine.

Any ideas? Could this be a driver/setting issue or just a bad card?

I did check and the two antennas are connected to the card.

I have an issue with my computer in which when I connect two different pair of beats, one being powerbeat wireless and my other beats which are beats solos. When I pair the devices through Bluetooth, 1 minute into a song or just after pairing the sound cuts off. When I go into playback devices, the sound bar moves up and down signalizing that there is sound playing but nothing is heard through the headphones. I believe there is a connectivity issue between any Bluetooth devices and my computer. I have tried updating the drivers and repairing the devices but with no luck.

I have a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse set that have a few issues. All the fuctions worked in XP but now they dont in Windows 7. They respond faster in Windows 7 than they did in XP which is great but parts don?t work. On the Mouse, the forward and backwards side buttons for IE do not work, along with the scroll button. I can click it and it will allow me to motion through a pages but it won?t do scrolling. With the keyboard I can no longer use the hot keys at the top for volume, calculator, home, etc... Not a big deal but would still like to use them. If you anyone has any ideas let me know.

I had exactly the same problem and unfortunately Dell technical support were no help. As far as I can gather the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse are supplied to Dell by Logitech and the software that enables the higher level functions is called Setpoint. Version 4.80 is compatible with Windows 7 and should make all the keys work. I downloaded it from FileHippo. Good luck!

Hello there, this is my first post on these forums and I hope someone can help.

I was on an online forum last night on my ps3 and was tired of typing in posts using my ps3 controller. It dawned on me that I could pair my bluetooth PC keyboard to the PS3, and I managed to do so with no problems.

However, once I went back to trying to use the keyboard with the PC, it is not being detected. I have tried to reconnect using the "Add device" function in the control panel, but the keyboard isn't being detected at all. I even tried the old "Switch off and back on again" but to no avail.

I hope someone can help, it's probably something really simple but it has me completely stumped. Thanks in advance

I bought a Dell Insiron XPS 15z laptop which has blutooth hardware but does not have any software to run this hardware?

Can you suggest?

A:Bluetooth software on Dell Insiron XPS 15z

It should have come pre-installed, and it should also be on the driver and software disc you were given. If not, just go to Dell's website, under support, and search for drivers by your service code (on the bottom of the laptop). You'll find the appropriate Bluetooth software.

I was asked to re install windows 8 on a laptop. It's a Dell Inspiron 15 ( 3521 ).

It installed all the drivers except the wifi + Bluetooth driver.

The laptop cannot connect to wifi straight after installing windows 8.

When I run the exe, it gets to the end of the installation it asks for the user to switch on the Bluetooth or wireless switch ( It was one if them, I forgot which one ).

I look all over the laptop and cannot find anything that resembles a switch. I looked at the FN keys and there is no shortcut for it or anything.

I looked to see if it's under settings in windows 8 but the wifi screen says " no devices ".

The laptop has a cheap build.

Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

When I go to Device Manager in Control Panel, I don't see a Bluetooth device listed anywhere.
I've searched online, from what I've read some models of this laptop have Bluetooth and some don't. When I go to the BIOS screen, it mentions Bluetooth somewhere. Does this mean the laptop has Bluetooth?

A few days ago, I installed Windows 7 on my laptop, a Dell Inspiron 6400. I downloaded the Vista drivers for my bluetooth module as there were no W7 drivers available. Whenever I try to install the drivers, the setup asks to enable bluetooth by pressing Fn+F2. So I press Fn+F2 and the only thing happening is my WiFi switching on and off. Nothing happens to my bluetooth and therefor I can't continue the setup. How do I get my bluetooth to work. I checked the BIOS, bluethooth-module is enabled.

What issues were you having with Bluetooth? I got my 9550 last December and had one Bluetooth issue with it. I am using a Bluetooth keyboard. A couple of months ago the keyboard was suddenly dropped and I had trouble getting it recognized again. Eventually I had to re-pair it and it has worked well ever since.

I had to reinstall WinXP on my Dell XPS M1530, and now Windows doesn't detect the bluetooth unit. The symbol in the line with power buttons etc is lighted though. I have software from before, but could only copy, not install it. What I find works only in Vista. Broadcom's own bluetooth software does neither detect a bluetooth nor work without that. In the control panel there is no icon for bluetooth, even though Windows help suggests exactly that.

Does anyone know how to do that? It worked before, but now I can't figure out how, even after hours of googling...

Best regards

I just purchased a Dell Blue Tooth Travel Mouse. When trying to connect it finds the mouse, says it has connected and then a window with a countdown clock shows and says click to confirm with mouse but the mouse will not work. I called Dell and after 1/2 hour they said it was a long process to set-up and would charge me $60.00, I only paid $14 for the mouse.

I am running Windows XPS2 on a Dell Inspiron 1520.

Looking for any assistance as this mouse is new and was only released a week ago.

I cannot seem to successfully work Bluetooth on my E4300. I've tried countless drivers and various troubleshooting processes and still no luck.
The Bluetooth capability is there, I know, and the light on the keyboard toggles on and off with the hard wifi switch. I've searched online for hours and found nothing that has helped so far... Other than learning that it might be a problem with Windows 7 and its infamous driver issues.
And advice?
Thank youu!!
